The 'Beasts & Exploration' DLC for Battle Brothers expands the game with a larger world, full of unique hidden locations throughout that offer new possibilities and rewards to the daring adventurer, as well as challenging new beasts roaming the untamed wilds. Craft your own gear from trophies you collect, customize your equipment with a new system for armor attachments, and engage in profitable beast hunting and exploration!

Features:

Legendary Locations - Hidden legendary locations offer new possibilities, lore, unique opponents, and unique rewards for the daring adventurer in a world that is 25% larger.
New Opponents - Five challenging new beasts populate different parts of the wilds, and three fearsome bosses guard valuable treasure. All of them come with unique mechanics and loot.
Crafting - Trophies from slain beasts can now be crafted into cloaks, armor plating, armor for your wardogs, shields, potions and other items to customize the look of your hardened mercenaries and benefit them in combat.

I´m a great fan from turn-based strategic games and a great fan from rpg´s (preferably medival or fantasy), with this game i become both. It´s damn hard and all losses let you bleed but so sweeter tastes the victory.
The sound track is really good and the graphics are fit to the genre.

I recommend this game but you need an iron hide to master the fights and losses are everywhere!

Doesn't like the larger maps. More travelling and no enemys there. Boring. Also the new retread mechanic is a blast. You also have to watch it. Makes no sense. Makes an slow game even slower. Why is there no real option menu like in 4x games, where you can toggle thing of and on. In fact there is some on starting but its too less on options. So dumps down. Ah and they nerved the legendary sets, which should stay legendary, because after getting them the challange is over already so no point in nerving. If you beat black monolith and all your bros are lvl 15/16 above and well equipped, you beat the game anyway.

I had fun initially but over time it kind of made quests too difficult and made the game not enjoyable. Plus the things you can craft aren't really that many and sometimes don't even feel worth it. It gives a huge spike in difficulty but you don't really feel that rewarded for what you go through. So it's a pass for me.

This DLC allows you to watch your brothers get terrorised by anorexic boogeymen, seduced by creepy old hags, impaled by Ents, yeeted by giant fat men, entangled by creepy crawlies, and last but not least - devoured by a hentai monster.

This one is NOT a DLC, it is the integral part of the game. Don't even think of playing BB without this expansion, it is a basically a part of basic game sold separately. Makes it much less hollow.

This DLC is good at adding things that I hate.

I hate webknechts.
I hate unholds.
I hate schrats.
I hate the taxidermist, because he's a skinflint.
I wholeheartedly hate apls. Two overhauls in, they are still a pain to deal with.
I hate the epic monsters because they end my playthroughs.
I hate wi... Woo-hooo, hold on, now witches are not that bad, come here, baby, let me... NOPE, NOPE, OH LORD, I HATE WITCHES! HATE THEM SO MUCH!!

My praise and complaint is the base game feels empty and unfinished without this. This DLC is essential and should probably just be a part of the base game.

If you like the base game well enough get this. This DLC kind of just puts more meat on the bones of the game, not that it's essential or anything. But its good shit.

I think it's a testament to how good this game is that even though I strongly dislike at least two of the enemies introduced in this DLC, I still recommend it, because it's a quality part of a beautiful, cohesive whole.

I love this game but I found this DLC extremely tedious to be honest. This is a personal opinion, but I often find charm and stun mechanics in a game to be really annoying, and this DLC is loaded with them in a really poorly executed way. The new creatures often rely on interfering with your ability to actually play the game rather than challenging the way you play the game to create difficulty, and the way to succeed feels really gimmicky. It's not that it's too hard or unbeatable, I just find myself rolling my eyes or totally avoiding a lot of the creatures added by this DLC to a point where I realized I'm not playing any of the content it added.

I don't like this DLC. Some of the enemies are ridiculous. For example: Alps. They spawn endless shadows and it takes so long to fight them that it stops being enjoyable and feels more like a chore. I love the game, but not the DLC. The other enemies that come in the DLC are pretty cool, like the Hag (Hexe I think she's called) but the Alps ruin it for me. I encountered them early game and it was so ridiculously difficult to fight them. I won, but not without a lot of damage being taken in return. I suppose that's the point, but I feel they went a bit overboard with them being able to spawn 2 shadows every single turn, move, and possibly even mind attack. Then, the shadows all go before you, so you can't stop them and they get hits on nearly every single roll it seems and 2-3 hits and your guys die no matter what gear they have because it's a psychokinetic attack. Very frustrating.

Frustrating Gem Renewed

As a well established title, us fans thought we'd never have more content. Fortunately for all of us, this summer we were taken by surprise as the devs announced a full blown DLC for our favourite game which just came out at the end of November. Here are my thoughts on the matter.

The New Stuff
There are a couple new stuff that are more than welcome, from quality of life improvements to new enemies and a well done crafting system. Of course, we also got ourselves some new enemies, weapons and brutal boss fights. Although most of these things (especially the new retreat system and tryout mechanic) are more than welcome, some of these things could've had a little more thoughts applied to them. My main issue are with some new enemy gimmicks which at first, due to the novelty, are quite refreshing but in the long run, they become tedious and exhausting. You all get it? The Alps... Now that resolve and initiative are more important, I understand the need of fights driven by those but the design of this fight is simply not satisfying. At first, what seems like a good idea becomes extremely annoying after 2 or 3 encounters.

On the positive side, the other beasts and new boss fights are a lot of fun and represent a serious challenge on all stages of the game for new players and veterans alike. The new crafting system allowing us to pimp our gear, use new consumables and make powerful trinkets is a welcome addition, which in my humble opinion was very well done.

Guys... The Tutorial?
One thing that remain unchanged and was a miss on the initial release is the lack of tutorial. Yes, trial and error is a good thing in a game, but when you're not explaining vital concepts such as Zones of Control and Over-the-shoulder shooting, you're creating frustration. On top of this, the roll log is a messy thing and represents a shore when you need to back track an action for that brother who just got downed in onr hit. I think the DLC was a missed opportunity on the devs side for fixing those 2 issues.

Overall, the DLC gives a fair amount of fun content for a very good price and for the hardcore fans, there's even a supporter edition which grants us a unique banner and matching shields. If you're already a fan of BB or stratrgy games like these, this is totally worth the money. If you didn't enjoy the game at first... It didn't change the core concept so don't bother.

Highly recommend picking up this reasonably priced expansion. It is not often I put hundreds of hours in a game, but this one draws me in. The added weapons, traits, missions, and monsters are all welcome. I’m very glad the developers have decided to expand this world and continue to provide content for it.

I Was really shocked and disappointed when they announced they were done with the game and not coming back to it. I was very surprised as many of you were when they announced this expansion. I bought it day one to show my support. Great addition!
