the terrible decisions that company made, you can't 1 shot a person with a sniper anymore. Plus the game is full of bugs and complete try hards, when i went into the shop for some reason almost every VIP weapon was free and then 3 days later the VIP weapons i got permanently i could no longer use it cuz i didnt had VIP.
before i got those weapons and used them i didnt had VIP but still could use them
but now i need VIP to use them

Imagine having such an awesome game which bring such a beautiful memories, it doesn't matter about the terrible decisions that company made, even that you can't 1 shot a person with a sniper anymore. However this game is insane, if they bring back some stuff, instead of being worthless pieces of babies milking every tear of milk coming out of this game.

This is a game run by Developers that ruin the game by milking it with OP guns with half-assed skins and not fixing the issues that the community raises.

When the community decided to make the version of Combat Arms that respected balance the company decided not only to C&D the Discord but also issue Strikes on all the youtubers covering the game thus leading to many BIG youtubers from possibly getting there youtube career removed over content they do not have the right to claim as there own. Thus abusing the system youtube has in place.

You shouldn't play Combat Arms and you shouldn't support Valofe.

Honestly I was excited to of course spend my time playing this game as it was a very clear top title for me throughout my highschool years, however this game has now become a big cash grab with the amount of Pay To Win features you can now get at ridiculous costs, more than before when Nexon was in play. The only fun modes to actually play are PVE (Fireteam) or Quarantine Regen because at least then you'd have some type of content. However any type of Player Vs Player match ups other than the ones i've specified is completely ridiculous with the sheer amount of overpowered items, broken characters that have 10 second invincibility timers, and 50% speeds? This is a broken game and unfortunately will not be spending any more money on it.

This is my favorite game of all time.
Well, it used to be...
Ever since Nexon sold the game to Valofe, it's only gone downhill. Valofe made and broke promises to make every part of the game accessible for F2P. When Nexon left, a F2P player had to potential to get the best items in the game solely through gameplay. Nowadays, anything worth having is only available in lootboxes only available for real life currency.

Valofe has also thrown balance out of the window entirely and do not understand how the game is supposed to work. They released set bonuses that gave stats so high that you couldn't actually use them due to caps set in place to make the game fair, which Valofe removed to encourage buying their new items only found in lootboxes. Currently, people who dump thousands of dollars in the game can get a 95% damage reduction, boosted unbalanced stats in every area across the board, and an smg so overpowered that you can two shot anyone in the game at any range with stats that seem like it should be a dev gun. The only people who are allowed to play at this point are the whales, and that's all you're going to find.

Mix this in with a community so toxic and given enough power to expel you from any match solely for killing them, and you essentially never get to actually play the game unless you're bad and enjoying dying constantly.

The game used to be great, and it's still my favourite game of all time. Unfortunately, the game is going to die unceremoniously and horribly. Stay as far away from this game as possible.

So, on the surface this is very reminiscent of the original Combat Arms, the weapons feel the same, all of the guns you still remember are still in the game, operators, maps, etc., and you are immediately piled with tons of high-tier weapons and gear. Pretty nice, eh?
Then you play online and realise that there is only one meta, fast + tanky (for some fucking reason) character + legendary smg (or literally any P90) + bunnyhopping = victory. Any attempts at working as a team to push into the map are swiftly dismantled by one or two players, bouncing around the map at a fraction of lightspeed, hipfiring everything to death with the same three cursed smgs. If you're gonna download this for the PvP, just don't.
Another gripe of mine is that the gap between free weapons that can be used by new players and legendary-tier equipment is so astronomically wide that there simply is no competition. Even the gap between Epic and Legendary is absurd. If you want to do well at this game, expect to either shell out actual cash for the good stuff, or be forced to grind your face against the pavement as the people who did spend actual money on the game drag you and your entire team.
Fireteam mode is still kinda fun, but it somehow feels even more unpolished than it did in the original CA, especially the newer maps with their instant-death spots.
Quarantine is weird. Enough said.

The game is bad now, plain and simple. It is not what you once remember. All the old guns are pretty meat now due to power creep and more p2w items being added. There are about 10 lobbies in total, a couple more if you like fire-team I guess. Predominantly EU and Asian players so absolutely horrendous ping in every lobby. And the aim sensitivity for the small magnification sights ends up way too slow when you play on a lower sensitivity overall. You might end up with a decent sens but when you use a acog or whatever its just so slow or fast. Just overall inconsistent, but what can you expect from a 13 year old game. At least my account from 2009 is still there, preserved like an old relic.

I use to play this game before it came to steam, once hackers and such got into it, the game died at the moment, I usually just do the PVE against zombies and it was fire but now the game itself is horrible.

I cannot recommend anything in this game.

There is nothing to stop spawn killing, and it is impossible to win when the enemy team has started doing it. There are a great number of glitches. My favorite glitch being having your sniper barrel stick out beyond the cover you are hiding behind so you can pick people off without exposing any part of your body or head. Hits often don't register, even when you see a spray of blood from the enemy player's head. Games are often unbalanced as players who pay extra money get better guns, gear, and automatic turrets than anyone else. This game is hell.

Downloaded this game for nostalgia, and what do I get? Pure disappointment. I knew the game was P2W already, but screwing me out of my money is unnacceptable.
I tried to buy a PERMA weapon box for 2800GC while I have 4800GC and it says..
“Coupon cannot be used during item sale event”
I don’t remember having a coupon active as I just downloaded the game.
On top of that I can’t seem to find an actual customer support number/email/chat anywhere.

Not at all Pay to Win. You can get much further with levelling up than in the OG version of CA. In fact, if you level up just a few levels(which is easy with an exp boost from a job or something) you get crates for free permanent items, with which you can set up a kickass gear if you know what you are doing(I say this as a previous Nexon player, ~2010).

Perfect for some nostalgy matches. You won't even feel left behind with these easy to attain weapon and gear crates. Low in player base, maximum 20 active rooms at any given time, but fills up quickly if you make one yourself.

The hacker part is true, they will eventually call you a hacker if you play better than them, but for me this is a part of the nostalgy, as the player base was like this back then as well, just bigger.

Good ol Combat Arms nostalgia with the same P2W gameplay but its been updated and has less bugs. You also get a lot of free guns so you aren't stuck with 1 default gun forever. You can find some full lobbies pretty easily but sometimes they aren't in your region.

Compared to when this game first came out, it isn't worth a cent. I would not recommend you trying to play this dumpster fire of a game in 2021. It is only alive because of nostalgia and I am sad to say that.

I have tried to play this game time and time again thinking that it has changed for the good just to be disappointed with how the game came to be. Back when I first started to play this game (2009 - 2012), the game was introduced to me by my oldest brother. It was one of the best semi competitive FPS'es of the time and one of my all time favorite games to play while I was in grade school. The multiple game modes such as Quarantine (Infected), Fireteam (PvE), and Elimination (PvP) kept me going for years. You could tell who played the game and loved it by their rank and the weapons they use. However after 2012, the game became Pay to Win and the ranking system was messed up beyond repair. The weapons and cosmetics that took weeks and sometimes months of grinding due to them being locked by rank became virtually free to all players and wacky weapon skins and abilities were added. That's when I left. A game that has been held close to me forever was tarnished because of poor leadership within Nexon.

This so called reboot or continuation of the game picks up right where Nexon left off and it didn't get any better. The same practices are still there. However, the Pay to Win aspect is somewhat gone. Weapons can now be rented for close to nothing for a couple days or bought permanently with real money or a large sum of GP (in-game currency). The same goes for special weapons, cosmetics, and abilities.

If you're good at the game, you get called a hacker or a cheater and people scream and cry to get you vote kicked from the room.

If you outplay any of the players who pour their life savings into buying the strongest gears in the game by simply being better than them, they will insult your mother and also kick you from the game as they believe you are hacking.

Remember why you left a long time ago because you couldn't keep up with people using operators with minigun, stim syringe, m4 sopmod and super shotty? Well, all of those stuff are now obsolete compared to the new ridiculous weapons available only in lootboxes and RWT currency. its now a sad, dying p2w not any different from any other korean f2p game

Doesn't look too bad, but an instant dislike was how you couldn't just use the scroll-wheel to cycle through your equipped weapons. Also, why the hell would you need 6 weapons at a time?!? Just make separate loadouts or some shit

I get way better ping on reloaded than i do on classic mainly because on classic everyone likes to play on turk servers, reloaded alot more people in the NA servers.. ping is king on this game better ping better the bullets reg on ur guns.. i was able to snipe way better on reloaded than on classic cuz on classic i have to deal with bad ping.. if the ping was as good as reloaded id be only on classic.. some aspects of reloaded i dont like, like its harder to find out where to attach mods to ur weapon like i dont even know if its possible yet but i think it is cause i saw the option? but no shop like on classic? wut?

Super pay to win game. Devs only give back to their players who pay to play and not their loyal players. Friend List has been broken for months apperently and can't even invite your friends to lobbies. Prices are absurd.

Please bear in mind that I have played CAE ALOT back in the days when the game was doing pretty good. The amount of money I have burned on NX is quite ridiculous. I have played this game for so so long, but have decided for a year or 2 to leave this game behind.

Back in the 2010-2012 area I really enjoyed Combat Arms. But the following years, around 2015/2016 the game really died fast the years after that. It was really sad to see the game that I enjoyed so much every day as a little kid to die like that. Now, years and years later, I tried Combat Arms out again. Wise lesson: just don't.
The servers itself are basically dead, and only a few people are playing the game. The game itself isn't that fun anymore, since the dry cow really got milked again by Valofe for the last money grab.

Countless and countless useless re-skins of weapons, countless of useless pay-2-win weapons, it's so so sad to see. Back in the days when the L96A1 Arctic Wolf and the G36E Valkyrie where the best weapons to play with, where the best days aswell. The amount of stupid guns and stupid gear - cosmetics is beyond me. Valofe did a really great job at even screwing the game even more up, just like Nexon did.

It's sad to see where the game has ended for now. It wouldn't suprise me if the servers eventually die. I mean, they be dead already. Some people still play it, but I recommend to put your hours in a better game. This one is just now worth it anymore, for a long time already.

Disclaimer:
I have been playing Combat Arms since Nexon beta and Valofe. This includes the early version of Combat Arms Reloaded, so not just Combat Arms.

Positives:
• Lots of choices for modes to choose from
• Specialist Items
• Decent audio & visual for a game more than 12 years old

Negatives:
• Pay 2 Win (VERY) for a long time
• Elite Moderator Roles
• Very low player base for a long time
• Valofe not provide a decent compensation players who purchased the Turret for permanent with money, but the item was removed from all players.
• Creating 2 different version of the game (Reloaded and Classic) just diverts players away.
• Name and shame allowed on the Official Combat Arms Discord. This is against Discord Guidelines and Steam Policies.
• Poor publisher leadership. Valofe is not actively trying to bring players back into the game, nor new players back into the game. You can tell by looking at the Official Combat Arms discord and patch notes - especially the Sep 22 patch not reflecting that.

I'm not even asking for advertising the game on other websites because that costs money, but please make an effort to reaching out to new / returning players (potential customers). I tried my best to return to this game, but it just seems not worth the effort at this point.

Things To Improve:
• Lower the game music for new accounts that just launched
• Better leadership from the publisher. This means not to ban players who make their own rules in their room OR Remove Elite Moderator InGame Function. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgf4XJLXtfw
• The negative points in this review.
• Maybe make a new Combat Arms title in the future?

Conclusion:
I do not see any more potential in this game given the current circumstances as provided in the negative points of this review. The only thing I see is to scrap this game and use the assets to make a brand new Combat Arms.

I put a crapton of hours in the original Combat Arms, and well, the _feeling_ is still here. Don't be fooled by the 'free' guns making the game feel no more P2W. The bunnyhopping Viper meta felt a lot more fair than this lootbox SWAT vest and other P2W cosmetic bullshit that exists now. You can tank 8 hits from an assault rifle and still have a movement speed bonus - it's fucking ridiculous.

I really missed this game and since classic didnt seem to have much of a community or servers were down I tried Reloaded.

They really chopped this game up and left it a shell of its former glory. Weapon customization is completely removed, most of the gear is free or insane rental cost.

The only good about this game now is that match making is fast, the hacker problem is better than it used to be (tho still a problem).

Over all very disappointing, this game was a big part of my childhood and its a bummer to see it treated like this :(

If you want to play CA for the nostalgia, go right ahead and play a bit.(Nostalgia is the only reason why some people are still playing)
Play until you realize how broken this game is. (bugs/glitches that have been in the game for over 8 years now, Pay2Win in 2020 etc)

I can't believe I say this, but Valofe did a worse job at maintaining a game than Nexon.

If you're new to the game: don't even try it, you could watch paint dry and it would be more entertaining than this pisspuddle of a game

Look this game is a relic, sure it's toxic, rotten, hacker ridden, and overall awkward. But given a good match, it can be one of the best shooters available. Never understood what people saw in CS when this exists. They give away crazy ass prizes, noobs start out with more than my old Vet account had. Progression is FANTASTIC.

I've played nearly 100 hours up to this point, I've found myself totally addicted again. If I were to gripe at anything, I'd pick at the fact that Quarantine hasn't been added to pure. It's hard for me to find a game that isn't tense like the old ones. It's pretty much watching OP and hacks kill zombies that have HP that isn't balanced to the firepower anymore, meanwhile you have to fight the ban system as you sit and watch.

On the other end of that fence, Fireteam has totally been revamped. Quicker rounds leading to more tense situations trying to keep up. Other game modes have too been looked at. You can set up pure mode to limit the special and limited weapons that can throw an imbalance to a game as well. However sometimes, especially now that they hand you much of it you may feel differently about it this time around. Player base is low, however very much alive. They are doing much of this to ignite that nostalgia many of us felt years ago, and a community feel is certainly manifesting.

If you miss that fast pace you used to love, or you're simply a new player, Combat Arms is certainly still a contender in a world of nostalgia shooters. Even contending with new games it still looks fresh, content driven and making use of the tools they have in front of them.

Finally. One last gripe. Who ever made the new snow themed backpack, the one that looks like a big rock? Baaaad.. Shame.... Take the graphics software awayyyy.

1. 98% aimbot cheaters. they not even try to hide it

2. i got recoil while shooting - the others not.

3. if i jump while shooting i hit nothing because camera bump in my face - they can do it. with aimlock!

this could be an awesome fun game of for sure best shooter.. but the cheaters got it under control.
in some games i managed to maybe get 5 kills or so. i almost had fun but than came the same cheaters that
really make their fun in torturing you because they can. they run behind you they run around you
and you cannot hit them and they shot you for fun over and over again making you look like first human.

im good shooter player but in this here...they made me stand like a complete idiot.

recommended only if you are one of these cheating brats.

Valofe has, as expected, made a joke of this game.

Throughout the many years of my on and off play, I have collected permanent weapons ranging from 15$ to 30$. They were removed from my inventory and moved to a free section for all to use, suddenly I feel like I have lost ownership of my item, to the point where it is not even in my inventory and should I want to equip it I have to go to such 'welfare' page.

I loved combat arms reloaded, it gave what the game desperately needed, better shaders with the old assets. Maybe smoother animations. After some time in the hands of valofe, my character, which I have had for the span of around 10+ years, has been made to look like a trashy instagram 'model' that asks for donations in return for private content. Ridiculous eyelashes with the stupid button like plastic nose, complete with the DSL (for those who dont know check urban dictionary). This has been done with all the base female characters as it would appear.

What I am going to talk about was before valofe so I wont blame them for this:
I got really into CA for the quarantine mode when it came out. It brought a whole new element to the game, reminding me of Halo 3 infection, but better. The infected were something to be afraid of, you ran from them, they hunted you as one would expect. OP backpacks later and you find that has turned around, infected with a very high amount of health, damage resistance, and the ability to regenerate find themselves scrambling for safety from being harassed and hunted down by people who seem to be able to shove a whole arsenal up their ass.

No one sticks together anymore in an attempt to defend the office from the infected by trying to push them off the ledges long enough for the safe rooms to open. Gone are the days in which you guys managed to make it into the safe room and the recruit walks too close to the window and gets infected and panic erupts.

This game is a huge middle finger to any long term player.

still a good game, needs some tweeks on its social system, can´t add friends and create clans whilst playing on steam.
What I especially like about this version of Combat Arms is the Pure Combat Mode, which only allows player to choose from a free pool of gear, so there are no advantages only skill. Try some SnD on it, really nice!

I used to play Combat Arms constantly back when Nexon owned the game, and although CA does plays much better with the quality of life changes Valofe had made to Nexon's P2W model, it still feels like an outdated FPS and, excluding certain modes, doesn't bring me as much enjoyment as I had with the game back in junior high to early high school. Being thrown into a lagfest because most of the game room is all the way on the other side of the world isn't fun as well.

1) Full of hackers and there is no proper administration. Even some Admins are also one of the hackers.
2) Whats the point of enforcing game guard software if you yourself is hacking at the 1st place?
3) They can wipe out your personal inventories as they like if they feel offended in the game due to their hacks.
4) i have deleted off this trash in my PC , i felt its not worth of my time playing with Tyrants , entertainment becomes an abusive torture in gameplay.

I do not recommend it, after I came to live in Japan, I had to download the Steam version, but I was never able to play. I’m always banned on the loading screen. I have tried numerous times to contact the developer (Valofe) but I never got back. The game is good, but the lack of support is terrible!

It isn't quite the same game I remember playing 10 years ago, but that's not entirely a bad thing. Steam servers run great and a lot of the lamer things about CA (weapon pricing and class locked gear/ weapons) are practically non-existent now with Re-loaded's free gear and free weapons, what's not to love? All of the same game modes are back with some new maps added as well!
