Ist zwar kein Resident Evil und die Story sowie der Aufbau Dieser sind erstmal gewöhnungsbedürftig. Der Spielfluss wird manchmal durch nicht nachvollziehbare Filmsequenzen gestört. Man darf hier vom Niveau her kein Resident Evil 2 Remake erwarten, was die Inszenierung angeht.

Hmm nee lass mal.

Holy shit what a game, really well done, performance is great runs smooth, the puzzles are more hard then easy on this game i would say, the reload option works over mags and bullets in your inventory thats interesting. I think they did a really good job with this game even tho im not a hardcore fan of horror games but i liked Hatred and Ancestors so i gave this a try and def worth the money !

I have only played 1.6 hours but I want to write a review.
I was pulled towards this game because I am a huge RE fan and I am impressed with what an indie team of fans have made. Yeah I will admit it, it is a bit clunky but I do like where things are going. The game play is fun, the guns are punchy and I had fun. I would like to add that I believe they were trying to remake RE2 but it feels more like RE5 at times. The references and the nods towards RE are so slight and subtle that it doesn't take away from an RE inspired game. Don't go into the experience thinking you are going to get a clean, polished Resident Evil game, think of this game as a a bit of fun with RE in mind. I am looking forward to see where things go.

Daymare is similar to Resident Evil 2 remake but made by a smaller team of people. It shows in a couple of places with voice acting that isn't the best, and some character models and animations are a bit strange looking.
Overall the gameplay was pretty decent and I thought the reload mechanic where it works like a real clip was quite cool. The puzzles were mostly decent but some, especially nearing the end started to seem a bit lazy and too straightforward. The level design is not bad but a little too linear at times, and the hospital level dragged on unnecessarily long for me. I did think the sounds and atmosphere were well done.
There are also these kind of boosts you can pick up but I managed to get through the whole game maybe only using the health one once. The other two seemed pointless. I believe one was for stamina (which regens in literally 3 seconds anyway) and I have absolutely no idea what the other one does. Something about focus.

Overall, I enjoyed the game a fair bit. It's far from perfect but it played pretty similar to resident evil 2 remake so if you enjoyed that then pick this up on sale and I think you'll enjoy this too.

I'll admit, between my experience with amazing modern survival horror games like Tormented Souls, Alisa, and of course, the modern RE titles since 7, as well as how two of my favorite LPers -Vash12349 and Supergreatfriend- both found this game to be a decidedly mixed experience, I came into Daymare myself more than a bit skeptical as to how it would measure up to other great survival horror hits. However, while the controls can certainly be a bit stiff at times -especially in regards to sprinting and aiming- I've so far had a legitimately great time with Daymare and have been able to enjoy its own brand of survival horror that it brings to the table.

The structure of the game certainly feels different and unique when compared to the survival horror titles I've previously mentioned, with the possible exception being the RE3 remake. So far, the game has been structured so that you're essentially gradually clearing out condensed areas filled with monsters and various puzzles that you have to solve, not unlike a classic survival horror map, but so long as you're not painstakingly examining every little detail, you're never in one location for too long and eventually experiencing another scenario as a completely different character. Again, I haven't finished the game yet, so I don't know if the game will keep up this steam, but so far, it's been a very enjoyable experience seeing various different locations that help flesh out the world this takes place in (which I gotta say I'm pretty invested in learning more about with Daymare 1994 not being too far off). Plus, as someone who will readily admit that the RE3 remake felt super undercooked, I gotta say that it feels very fulfilling playing another 3rd person survival horror game that lets you thoroughly explore a monster-infested city.

Additionally, as a colossal RE fan, all the various references to the series scattered about are always fun to find, and it's especially interesting seeing locations reminiscent of the RE2 remake when you know about Invader Games' involvement/visit to Capcom after the latter's C&D. In a lot of ways, parts of this game feel like it has the skeleton of the RE2 remake.

But yeah, so far, I've been quite enjoying my purchase and it honestly has me looking forward to 1994's release.

EDIT: While I can still recommend the game, there are two big points of criticism I'd like to bring up after beating it; first off, the fact that the game runs the risk of crashing, at least during my playthrough, at the fountain puzzle while playing as Raven is a pretty noteworthy and jarring glitch. Secondly, as much as I want to like HADES Dead End, stumbling around blindly trying to find the objectives is more than a bit frustrating and time-consuming. If nothing else, it would be really nice to know where all the C-4 are for the hospital level, especially when you've gotten every other computer and are wandering around blindly trying to find the last C-4.

daymare:1998 is a fun experience and gives a class vibe to horror with a good story. With that said you will find your self raging at the game, not do to mechanics but do to bugs and due to that alone you will find this game in your steam library not installed on your device. If the bugs are fixed diffidently worth the $30 price tag however with the bugs left in the game it should be priced at $10 and under.

Steam really should have a meh button. There's so much promise here with Daymare, it isn't really a bad game. It does however have many MANY issues with it. The controls being one of the main ones, navigating menus is a horrible experience, not to mention opening your inventory is painfully slow.

The puzzles are so long and tedious that even the developers put in the option to skip them.

The level design isnt the best, every area is massive. The worst level for game design is the hospital, which has many doors that can't be interacted with, and you wont know this until you are touching them and there is no action prompt. The hospital also has a section that is a large square, with a door blocking you so you have to go the long way around, you'd think once you reach the other side you would be able to unlock that door, but no you have to take the long way around.

Inventory management is bizarre. At times you cant switch ammo because your inventory is full. This games version of item crates, are very few and far between. Also seem to mostly be in hidden areas. You can drop items on the floor like in REZERO however, but there is nothing on the map to let you know where you dropped items. There also doesnt seem to be enough health pick ups, but there are loads of extra things like aim assist and stamina assists that can just be dropped from the game. The shop system is basically pointless.

The hallucination mechanic is an odd choice. Some times enemies arent real, which is fine because they vanish when you shoot them and there is loads of ammo laying around. These enemies also cant hurt you, which is also fine. However there is a overlay on the picture that takes way too long to come off the screen when coming out of an hallucination that can be a real problem, like in the hospital where it puts you in a room with enemies once the hallucination is over. It just seems to be in there because 'silent hill' story wise it doesnt really work.

The story is a mess anyway.

The biggest issue is the combat, the combat is horrible. The game isnt that difficult, but enemy placement just feels cheap. Enemies main mode of attack is to grab you and throw up acid onto you. This can feel extremely unfair at times, it seems that once the lunge animation has kicked in. Thats it. You are locked into taking the hit, even a shotgun blast point blank doesnt stop the attack. When the enemies are all hidden around corners and come running at you its a real pain, i mostly find myself reloading areas once I know were all the surprise attacks are coming from.

its not an awful game, it just lacks polish. Maybe they could have spent more time on fixing the controls and map layout, then on all the easter eggs. Seriously, I dont know how they didnt get sued for the amount of stolen assets in here.

It is good game overall.

While graphics and gameplay looks rough and lighting is really bad in some places.

The level design is really good. It captures the RE level designs concepts really well.

If you like RE games and wished for more buy this.

Thanks for wasting my 8 hours going through all the first 2 chapters in Daymare mode only to get stuck at the fountain puzzle without the stupid 'Fatal Error'. Seriously it's been over more than 2 years but the dev never bother to fix their stuff. Totally disappointed. Kills my mood and interest for the upcoming prequel after seeing the current state this game is in now. Seriously, the gameplay is frustrating too, no dodge or counter. Weak melee animation where it always fail to triumph against enemy's lunge attack. The original RE1 and RE2 classic is better than this buggy-wannabe-mess.

This was a very good effort by Invader Studios to, on one hand, replicate the atmosphere of RE2 and yet create a good plot that differs from said game entirely with a twist at the end! It actually took me by surprise and the voice acting is actually very good. Not to mention hearing the original VA of Leon Kennedy from the classic RE2 game, that was a real service to fans...+10 points for that alone.

Graphics are to be expected for something of the calibre but it doesn't detract from the game in any way. Assets are clearly replicated from RE2 remake but this makes you feel quite at home if RE is all you know and love. I would say the char movement needs a little improvement but other than these points, the game works just fine, and i didn't experience one bug or crash while playing, ever. Kudos.

I think the story warrants a sequel IMO!

Visuals are acceptable. not terrible but not beautiful. I bought it on sale which i would recommend anyone else to buy this on sale. For the money you pay its not a bad game.

I like the game quite a bit, and would suggest if to other survival horror fans

worth it on sale

Some of the annoyances and problems with the game are absolved in my mind when I consider the really tiny size of their studio. The ones that stood out heavily were the funky character models and some balancing issues with bosses. The bosses were not actually horribly hard, but felt like a dip in fun.

I thought the voice acting was hilarious

For all of those who didn't know:

This game has been made by the indie team we own Resident Evil 2 Remake from Capcom.
They used to developp a Unreal Engine remaster of RE2 back in the days, but Capcom stopped them when they were in a very advance stage of the dev.

They asked them to stop their work as they were planning to remake RE2 (before public announcement)
In return they helped them (some member of the team) by teaching them some stuff about Game Dev.
So they made their own horror game.
This is what Daymare 1998 is.
It's not perfect, but for an indie team, it's quite good, full of references from 90's.

It deserve some praise imo, I hope they'll keep up their work and perfect their skills.

Great homage to 90s survival horror games, solid 8/10. Played the game on Daymare difficulty and had a blast throughout. Great atmosphere, gunplay, and gameplay gimmics that work. Overall great game, must play for anyone who enjoys third-person horror games along the lines of Resi, Dead Space etc. Can't wait for the sequel, and hats off to the devs!

Pro/highlights:

-Reloading mechanic is great fun and adds real tension.
-Puzzles are great. Really fun to play a horror game that put some effort into its puzzles, and they were fun to solve. admittedly two of the puzzles are a bit misleading, but the others are genuinely fun to solve, and added a great respite to the tense fighting sections.
-Great setting and several of the levels are fantastic in their design and creepiness.
-The story is actually really interesting, and although the voice acting is a bit hammy (by design, I think), it certainly has me hooked for the sequel.
-Boss fights aren't as spongy as elsewhere indicated.
-Zombies look great.
-Real passion put into the game - loved all the references to classic 80s and 90s films throughout.
-Music is great throughout.

Cons/points of improvement:
-Character models on playable characters were a bit lifeless, and could have been improved (especially relative to the monster/zombie models).
-Game would really benefit from a New Game Plus mode, to aid replayability.
-Upgradable & unlockable guns would be great.
-Slightly more monster types? But not too many, as the standard zombies stay menacing throughout.
-Experienced a few graphic glitches and bugs (e.g. enemies/boss disappearing, requiring a reload).
-The item storage mechanic is the main thing I would improve. They were a great inclusion, but I feel they could be introduced earlier in the game, and be shareable across characters. Mainly though, the trading mechanic could be improved. I found myself just trading a certain item for ammo every time, and almost never bothered to trade other items, especially as these were of the same type (e.g. health for health, ammo for improved ammo etc.). It would have been much better to have given the option to trade health for ammo or vice versa, adding an extra element of resource management and rewarding conservative playstyles, but I can see how this could be exploited to spam ammo, as I think ammo management was great throughout.

This game is extermely janky. It's not worth the stated price.

The cutscenes are written poorly and animated even worse. The animations in the cutscenes are extremely cartoonish and it doesn't fit the style or what the people are saying (in fact, I use subtitles and I noticed that the subtitles did not match what characters said a few times, sometimes it made more sense, sometimes less.)

While the whole game looks alright texture wise and I always found myself examining the areas I was in, the actual character models and enemy models are somewhat poor.... While this could be ignored, it's very hard to since all of the characters are animated very very poorly. Zombies are animated the worst which I think is done on purpose to make them hard to headshot. However, the worst thing about the zombies is that it is impossible to tell when they die. There is no immediate visual feedback to the fact that you have killed an enemy (except for sometimes with Sam for obvious reasons.)

The gameplay is awkward at best. The most awkward thing about it is the melee. At any point you can kind of bash an enemy to push them away and if you hit them twice, they fall over letting you run along. However, melee will sometimes fail to connect and you just get hit.

The worst aspect about the gameplay is that manipulating yourself takes a solid second and the keyboard controls are awkward. If you want to open your inventory it takes a solid second for your inventory to actually open. This makes managing your inventory only viable in safe situations. The worst part about this is you cannot cancel your inventory until it fully opens, so if you accidentally open your inventory in a fight, be prepared to take a hit.

If you reload your gun, your movement speed will be locked to whatever your previous movement speed was until you are finished reloading your gun. This means if you are aiming at something and hit reload, your movement speed will be locked to the slowed down aiming movement speed until you have reloaded, making it very difficult to dodge while reloading and making it awkward as hell.

Changing weapons is strange. When you select a different weapon it takes a good long second for your character to pull that weapon out and you cannot cancel this. If you select the shotgun by accident, you have to pull the shotgun out before you can switch to your pistol again.

Another awkward thing about the gameplay is that damage feels random at best, sometimes it takes 2 headshots to down a zombie, sometimes it takes 7. Even while running around as many enemies as I could, I still felt always pressured for ammo and not in the good way. I never wanted to fight at all and sometimes the game forces you to fight.

Despite all of this, the gameplay seems alright... Until you get to chapter 5...
Chapter 5. Oh my god. Chapter 5. There is a boss fight in Chapter 5 and it is probably the worst bossfight ever. There are explosive barrels you are supposed to shoot to damage the boss a bit, you get infinte pistol ammo.. Simple enough it seems. Except it's not. IF you are at all too close to the barrels, you die instantly when they blow. How close is too close? don't know. There is no easy way to tell. Another thing about this boss is that you can't shoot it to death, you have to knock it down in the center of the arena and activate a trap to deal real damage it seems, except the boss will not be knocked down if you don't use the explosives to damage them first. It's a massive pain in the ass with how the boss moves and acts and is purely unfun. Not only that... this boss comes back later and you have to do a quick time events to open doors, sounds simple enough? it's not, because then the boss will start to run at you. If the boss catches you here, you die instantly. There are again, explosive barrels to shoot to slow them down, except then you also have to wait on an elevator to leave. Chapter 5 is set up in the most infuriating way possible.
I stopped here, I just can't stand this chapter.

this game is good, but it can be bored sometimes in my opinion. the characters are likable. i like sandman and liev both are pretty cool. my only problems in this game are checkpoints and and reloading, let’s talk about Reloading

For example a shotgun you need to hold X or ☐ or the reloading button on keyboard in order to reload all the bullets, i realized this in the last part of chapter 4. but it is a good thing you can reload them all but kinda pointless, unlike the handgun and sub machine, with one click,

as for the checkpoints, i really don’t know sometimes if i went to the next area it won’t save kinda hate it though so you need to find though hidden rooms i mean it’s good but why you need to need hide it? at least it’s not like Crash bandicoot 1 original lol. but yes it’s not bad or good at least better than a certain game, (*cough*..resident evil raccoon city...*cough*)

Introduction

Daymare 1998 is a third-person survival horror where you experience a zombie outbreak from the perspective of three persons. This game is heavily inspired by Resident Evil in every aspect in the hope of recreating the old-school survival horror experience. This game got some right but also has many shortcomings. I played a ton of Resident Evil games so I understand what the game tries to achieve, however for those who don’t, might not think this game is as good as I do.

To me, “old school survival horror” is a horror experience generated from resource rarity and powered by Metroidvania-like map design, a nonlinear map design you need different items/abilities to unlock different stages of the map and usually requires a fair amount of backtracking.

Map Design

The complexity of map design is basically on par with Nest 2 map design in Resident Evil 3 Remake, with the most complex one (hospital level) similar to the hospital design in RE3. For those who don’t know, the map design of RE3 is criticized by some fans for being not exquisite and too linear compared to RE2 Remake. I am fine with that, but I do think they make a fair point. If that makes sense to you, you should know how it is like in Daymare 1998 – not very complex or exquisite and somewhat linear, but still made use of Metroidvania concept and most importantly, it works.

Inventory Management

There is one unique feature I have never seen elsewhere – you need to manually load your bullets into magazines. I appreciate the intention – too few magazines make your combat hard as you cannot reload (inventory menu does not pause the game), while too many take up your inventory space. However, this idea doesn’t work well. The constant need to toss around bullets and magazines breaks the flow of the game. As for others, buff items are so superfluous that their existence only reminds you there is an inventory system.

The game puts a terminal integrates item box, trade, manual save together, which feels like a massive afterthought. It is not until Chapter 2 you see one and it is nowhere to be found when your inventory gets stuffed. In fact, the game can be just fine without it. On top of these, inventory menu is not intuitive. I played too many Resident Evil so no issue for me, but I can imagine casual gamers have quite a headache navigating it.

This game is pretty forgiving (1990s classic mode, normal difficulty) as long as you don’t sprinkle your bullet all around. Enemies besides bosses don’t take many bullets and there are so many to pick up that at the end of a chapter my inventory is often stuffed up with bullets. The only time they ran low is Chapter 1 running session which works great but not for long. I am not sure about the hardest difficulty, but normal difficulty which I assume most people will play at, cannot create the tension from resource rarity.

Puzzle Design

I think puzzles are bad and too many. Most puzzles that work fine are some sorts of ramifications of Resident Evil puzzles. For those original puzzles, they range from bad to ridiculous.

Chapter 1 spelling puzzle is ridiculous because you cannot just assume everyone can spell Greek. Chapter 3 fountain puzzle is bad for using trial and error that only works well with mechanical and environmental puzzles, because they don’t require an interpretation of three sets of contradictory clues that can generate too many combinations. For the Chapter 4 morse code translation, I just simply could not find where the puzzle is. Escape session in Chapter 5 can be viewed as an environmental puzzle in a timer. It is very creative but wasn’t executed well because of a bug that even I downed the monster, he was still able to grab me when I run past, which turned it into an annoying experience.

Control & Combat

Control is very slow or say unresponsive. Swapping weapons and holding a gun to aim take forever and are downright frustrating in the middle of combat, making swapping guns in close range effectively impossible without getting hit. Besides, command will sometimes be unregistered, meaning you have to repetitively press the buttons for the action to kick in.

Shooting is solid and satisfying, with the great thrust sounds from blasting a zombie’s head off and the gory body disassembly. But close combat (about three steps away from get grab) is problematic. In close range, zombies move faster than your aim moves especially on low mouse DPI. This causes you to not be able to aim appropriately. Hit detection in close range is also a problem. Sometimes bullets hit, sometimes they don’t even you are so sure you have aim right at the head. It also happens in melee. You can push the enemies away sometimes but other times you can’t. It is just pure luck.

Magnum is supposed to be the most powerful weapon but it is in an awkward position. If the shotgun cannot handle the enemy, magnum also can’t. That leads to this gun being superfluous and enemies should have been less spongey to magnum rounds.

Visual & Sound

Graphics is okay, except a daytime session looks terrible with bad lighting and awful looking environment, and a short session where the developer just turned down the brightness to create a smoke environment, which is lazy (inventory menu is also dark). But I do appreciate the developer put lots of attention to environmental details making places realistic and believable. I also like how they made use of low lighting to capture the gloomy vibe and were able to create a few scary moments I sincerely enjoyed.

Character faces look terrible. Their faces are so fake that like they are wearing them instead of having on their skins. Some character motions in cutscenes are not well animated, like no lip-syncing, stiff hand gestures, weird movement, but I am willing to forgo them as they are hardly the point.

Sound design is on point and features some memorable music. The only thing I can nitpick is that zombies’ howling sounds right next to you despite the distance. It isn’t completely bad since it sounds like a zombie just sneaks behind rising some tension, but certainly feels more like a defect than a design choice.

In terms of optimization, it is decent, owning to most environments are dark, but cutscene does not run well at least for me. It is probably due to my crappy computer that all cutscene run in slow motion causing video desynchronizes with audio. I experienced this with other games and was able to resolve it by changing graphics setting. Yet here I dropped the setting to the lowest problem still exists.

Story & Narrative

The story shares some similar settings with Resident Evil, but it is different and unexpected in terms of plot and has rich background and lore for me to enjoy. I do think the narrative is kind of poorly executed though. The narrative angle shifting causes the story to be too fragmented. Also, because three protagonists are all collateral in the event, only until the epilogue the game reveals the whole story, which is not fluid and natural.

Cutscene is somewhat problematic, not because looks bad but because some important scenes are not shown. For instance, it was supposed to have a scene to show helicopter crashing because what it means behind is important to the whole story. There are a few other scenes I feel important but missing. Lacking them does not affect the story, yet makes the narrative weak, as some important plots did not get the emphasis they deserve.

Verdict

Daymare 1998 has many rough edges that bring some frustration, but ultimately the core experience is on point especially if you know what the developer tried to do. From the ending, I would expect a sequel and if it is the case, I am looking forward to it since what they did are on the right track, just need more polish to refine. If you are a survival horror fan wants to scratch that itch from waiting for RE8, this game has my recommendation.

The game itself is pretty amazing. It's classic feeling survival horror close to the style and feel of resident evil 4. The level design is pretty solid and the gameplay is smooth. The puzzles are difficult in the way of original resident evil titles. I'm really enjoying this game. The story is pretty interesting and the enemies feel well placed. The only reason for 4 star is for very minor things like the occasional typo in a text file or how sometimes 1 head shot kills an enemy while other times the same type can take several head shots and get back up. Still that just adds variety. I recommend to any survival horror fans that want the feeling of old school survival horror remade in a simple way without the added bells and whistles of the the Resident evil remakes, tho they are also excellent.

If you are looking for an old school survival horror, like Resident Evil 1-4, Evil Within etc. Then Daymare: 1998 is the next best thing. Good survival horror with inventory & ammo management. Lacking in puzzles but the overall experience was fun. The final chapter was not fun though, there it seemed the devs took more inspiration from Resident Evil 5-6 with a lengthy sequence filled with trial and error and quicktime prompts. but the positives outweigh the negatives. This is a great game for Survival horror fans.

this is my God honest opinion here, its a decent game, but really needs updating in multiple areas of the game, some textures are really bad, like really bad once you take time to explore and look all small details like soil in a grass plot on the ground next to the ambulance, also there is an unbalanced health system were the guys with short stories had a lot of health, but then the bald kid with a 3-5 hour story alone had little to no health and when you do find it, its small energy bar that made little to no difference, the biggest con with this game here, is the God awful puzzles they implemented in this game, the answers of the puzzle should be available inside the games setting somewhere on a pc or paper or on a computer or in a book somewhere, this game requires you to have to go on google and learn roman letters and numerals to proceed, which no human should have to learn a new language in order to proceed in a game, the answers should be in the game somewhere not outside the game depending on the players knowledge about a language they may or may not know let alone about greek gods. overall i give you guys your credit for making a decent game, but in the future, fix your puzzles, and update those out dated textures i can take pics if needed and show how bad they are, and those with longer stories give more health does not make sense to give the guy with the hardest story fighting awfully strong creatures with no health at all while the guys with short stories in the game have way to much health over all i would say maybe a 6 out of 10, i wanted to give 7 stars, but i just cant right now, this is a game i would recommend to someone for 9.99, if you guys update it in the future and fix that puzzle and health system, easily would be more like a 8 out of 10! good job and good luck

The first puzzle in the game requires you to alt tab and google the greek alphabet.

Also only 15% of players completed the game. This game is just bad. Story is terrible and there are 4 enemy types in the game +1 boss which all have generic designs. One character is mentally unstable and see's phantoms. Cool idea to make you waste bullets but if the phantom grabs you it does damage like a normal enemy. Fu ck off. Love all the classic RE games but this... Completed the game on Daymare classic. I rather play Resident Evil 6 again.

Also What the hell is up with all the pop culture reference's? There's some neat re3 references but then its just Terminator and Men In black references all the over the place. Even the dev studio makes an appearance. just no, im trying to play a horror game

After a steep jank curve, I'd really started to enjoy this game. It obviously doesnt have the budget of the RE2 Remaster and as such the devs simply couldnt polish the gameplay to the same level Capcom did. But they got so many other things right: the tone, the atmosphere, the puzzles.

And then halfway through, I hit a gamebreaking bug. I restarted from scratch, got to the same point and... the exact same bug occurred. I'm not going to keep attempting.

Sadly this means I can't recommend this game because I can't guarantee you'll get a full game. Maybe, like me, you'll get half a game instead.

I looked for a Resident evil like and I found it. The zombies too. But I found something I didn't expected. I found so much love in this game. So many references to resident evil 2 and 3 on playstation but also TV show at that time (Friends, Buffy, Stargate, X-files), movies from the 80's and 90's (Back to the futur, Terminator, Alien, Even Horizon, Demolition man).
Even, if the graphics or game play looks outdated for you (particularly the faces of the characters who are very ugly), you'll like this game. It's the perfect companion to Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remake (I finished this games too). You'll fine in Daymare 1998 what you miss in Resident Evil 3 remake (a longer game, the streets who look like more the original game RE3, more old fashion puzzles, great environnement like the hospital who look bigger and better).
To mention, some boss or advanced ennemies in the game are particularly difficult to beat because of a rigid and the mechanic of the game play. I remember to pass through one with a bug exploit (at the end of the game, when you call the elevator) because I did it again, again and again because of the hit boxe of the boss. Also, you have no control (most of the time) on the save who are automatic (exception of few hidden rooms where you can save on an hardware) who lead sometime to hard moments. But it's ok, if you're familiar with survivor horror game. Nevertheless, I advice you to play in modern gameplay and normal mode. Enjoy you're nightmare !

I really like it so far! Very entertaining imo :)
It feels like some trashy b-movie in a very good way. (I love those!) had some good laughs too, because of some cheesy dialogue. :D
Graphics are mostly beautiful for an indie game, love the detailed environments, you can see the devs put love into the game.
I'm playing with Xbox One Controller and I think the controls are just fine, you just have to do a little too much ammo management for my taste.
I'm almost through chapter 2, at highest difficulty and so far it was not too difficult. :P

I really wanted to like Daymare: 1998 but it suffers from a lot of issues.

The voice acting is probably the most grating and groan-worthy. So many of the characters come off sounding monotone regardless of what is happening. Normally I can shrug this off but this is happening with Sam who is one of the main characters. The level design is alright but can feel quite annoying due to the constant backtracking. Combat feels okay once you get used to it but sporadic item placement makes the difficulty level a bit of a roller coaster. The way enemies lurch and lock you into some sort of struggle animation gets tiring in a hurry. The game does have a wide array of memorable puzzles but a lot of people will likely have to look up a guide for one or two of them (the Greek puzzle is notorious for this).

I really wouldn't recommend this game to anyone at the current price point of $30. At $10 I might recommend it to a fan of the Resident Evil series. The story was alright but the best part of it was at the end and I had to get through an 8 hour slog for it. I don't see myself replaying it even with the extra content added by H.A.D.E.S. Dead End. I was unable to get the game working on Linux.

Walmart Resident Evil with lots of goofy references to almost everything. Kind of fun but mediocre acting and okayish graphics kind of hold it back. Sometimes the game looks good but sometimes like a PS3 game. Maybe it's just the aesthetics of the game.

I like this game. The shooting is solid, the puzzles are clever and the game is challenging enough for that old skool survival horror experience.

The controls are a bit confusing at first, but I had no problem after a few minutes to set them the way I wanted(mouse+keyboard).

A bit weaker are the cutscenes, but well frankly I do not care... If you ever played the original Resident Evil you should know bad cutscenes don't break a game.

Conclusion : A good and enjoyable game.

This game is trying so desperately to be Resident Evil while using the elements of a few RE games by placing us in the shoes of a ruthless mercenary antagonist Liev, who is very similar to both Nicholai and HUNK from RE2 and 3 and a civilian named Samuel who is I guess more similar to Alan Wake since he suffers from hallucinations and nightmares. Hell even the late Paul Haddad is in this game, who played Leon in RE2. The puzzles are very good and the game feels like a discount modern RE game with not such great gameplay mechanics and not such great graphics, however it's still fun to play. If you like smooth horror games such as Alan Wake and RE play this game.

*Spoilers Ahead*

A Super janky but brilliant labour of love. Finished my first playthrough on daymare mode and genuinely had a good time with it. If Resident Evil is the Tsukamoto horror movie, then Daymare is the english dub of the Italian version of that same Japanese horror flick (probably directed by Fulci).

While combat itself is not great, the exploration and puzzle elements are fantastic, with some real brain joggers and the types of puzzles you don't see in games anymore. The way the story builds up towards the end and the ending twists also came out of nowhere. You're constantly lead into believing certain truths while in reality, things are so much different.

I don't even ever recall being so surprised by story revelations in a Resident Evil or RE-like game and somehow, the big revelations all made sense. There are a few plot holes here and there, but I wished to see how the actual destruction of the town happened, because it was eluded to, but not really shown. I hope the team get to create a sequel or follow-up to the cliffhanger of the game.

Gameplay is relatively slow and methodical, but it's also possible to sprint past most of the encounters and actually finish the game in a few hours, but it's recommended for a second run instead.

It's easy to see how some people would see this as a rip-off without seeing the actual objective of the game, which is to be a throwback.

Having played Resident Evil 3 (2020) before this, I'd say I wish I had bought and played this first instead.

In short, if you are into survival horror games, this surely is one to add to you library!

Daymare looks alot like the old school Resident Evil genre. Though, it is not as good, it really does a good job being a old school horror survival game. The story isn't quite rocketscience as you get to investigate the cause of a lethal accident with zombies breathing in your neck.

The gameplay is fine. Same goes for the voice acting. Graphics are above average.

If i would rate it from my point of view, it'll be like this:

..Sounds 7/10
..Gameplay 7/10
..Graphics 7.5/10
..Old school horror 8.5/10

Great game in my opinion. Some controls are a little bit clunky and some lines from the characters are a little cheesy, but its not bad. Knowing that in the early development of the game it was originally meant to be Resident Evil 2 Remake I can see many spots in the city areas in perticular that look like areas in the original resident evil 2 and 3. This game is a very nice throwback and great adventure for me I would highly recommend for fans of survival horror to check this out. Especially if you are old enough to have played the original Resident Evil on the Playstation and enjoyed it.

Daymare: 1998 is a third-person survival horror game.
The developers tried to recreate the mood of iconic titles from the '90s. The game is heavily inspired by Resident Evil. Originally it was planned to become a remake of Resident Evil 2.
An incident turned a small town into a deadly zone filled with zombies. There are three characters to play with an elite soldier, a helicopter pilot and a forest ranger.
The story is not really new, so I find it kinda boring. Also the characters are pretty boring from my point of view.
Controls are wonky, but you will get used to it.
Graphics are okay but the characters have absolutely ugly faces.
The voice acting is not the worst but could have been way more better. The soundtrack however is good.
There are also a few game breaking bugs, I had for example a problem were one boss monster felt through the map and I had to replay the whole boss fight.
Fans of the old Resident Evil games and people who would like to play some oldschool survival horror game will probably like it. Even with the negative things I mentioned, I liked the game overall and had my fun with it. From my point of view the developers recreated the mood of the '90s horror games pretty good.
It is not the best horror I have ever played but definitely not the worst.

Sounds 7/10
Graphics 6/10
Gameplay 6/10
Atmosphere 8/10

Thought this might be a good game since it screams out inspiration from Resident Evil but nah this game kinda sucks, its poorly optimized so it runs like trash a lot of the time, the ammo reloading system for the magazines feels so unnecessary and honestly just feels like chaff to make the game feel longer, in the cgi cutscenes the characters move like one of those stupid tf2 sfm videos people use to make like 5 years ago, bad voice acting, nonsensical story full of plot holes and tons of moments that make no sense, then they try to bring it all together at the end with a crap ton of exposition but the story still falls flat and makes no sense, there is also an entirely recycled level added in purely as filler to make the game longer, loads of zombies look the same and there's also a boss that gets recycled 3 times.

The only things I really enjoyed in the game were the puzzles required a lot of thought and were very well set out, gunplay was average at best, a lot of moments where the hit box detection was broken so my headshots didn't register leading to getting bit/dying, there were a decent amount of scares in the game and the level designs were really good and memorable.

I understand there is a modern take mode that fixes the god awful magazine reloading but it gets rid of the puzzles and seems to make the game easier, therefore making it feel less rewarding to play and just overall boring.

Overall I'd give the game a 4/10, below average.

I like what they were trying to do and going for, but it feels like it wasn't fully fleshed out to what it really could have been its rough around the edges to say the least, and there haven't been any jump scares that actually made me jump or even say oh! The plot is TERRIBLE and there are more than just a couple of times when the game captions and what is being said don't match up not even close. Honestly I'd say don't waste your money, I can appreciate what they have done just it's a no for me.

The end boss is just complete BS. First fight he is gonna be up your ass, then he will chase you through the hallway and if he hits you, it's game over. Even when he is knocked down he can still grab you. Not worth it guy, go play resident evil.

This game is just not worth a penny.

This is a great game. If you enjoyed the Resident Evil 2 Remake, you will enjoy this, 100%. The only downside worth noting, the facial animations are bad (sorry to whoever made them on the dev team). They are so bad, and hard to look at, it almost turned me off the game. And, I'm mainly talking about during the cutscenes. I truly think that is probably the one thing that turned most people off this game. But, once I overlooked that, the rest of the game is great...I honestly enjoyed it almost as much as the RE 2 Remake, no exageration.

It's hard to create a game which gives you the same vibes of a Resident Evil game and this game has almost got it. This is game is funny and the level of challenge is pretty high. In my opinion this game is a perfect mix between RE4 style and RE2: Remake style. However, there are some things I didn't like, such as the very slow opening of the inventory, it's too long although the time doesn't stop while you looking at the inventory. Moreover, there a lot of bugs and some of these made me load the game because of a soft-lock.

If I have to give a vote, I will say 7.5/10, but it would have been higher if it hadn't had certain problems and bugs.

Anyway, if you are a Resident Evil fan, try this game.

This is everything you remember being wrong with old horror games, done very well. The voice acting is deliberately wrong to the subtitles, the inflection of the lines read is intentionally weird and alien, the dialogue itself makes no sense given certain situations. And I love it. Never has a horror game been so spot on its own description, theyve done exactly what they said they would do so if you come into this expecting AAA horror then youre misunderstanding the intent here. The gameplay itself is really solid with a slight spin that I personally love. loading bullets is very slow and deliberate, managing your inventory doesnt feel like a chore and the actual combat feels good when you do it right, if you choose to fight at all since a lot of the exploration is open to dodging enemies, i recommend doing it in classic 90's mode on daymare for the most excitement, as intended. Playing this has been a breath of fresh air from horror games that try too hard or cater to a specific niche, this is catering too, but to everyone who grew up in the 90's playing horror. Kudos to the developers

I'd been looking for a throwback to the classic RE games, and I'd thought I'd found it with Daybreak. I overlooked the stilted English and hard-to-place accents as part of the old PS1-era charm, but then... the flippin' Greek puzzle. Yes, I can easily answer these questions. Wait, you expect me to enter the English-language names of these mythological beings and objects in the Greek alphabet? While playing a PC who is not a classics major, nor previously identified as having any interest in classical Greek? No. That's bad puzzle design, a gamebreaker both in terms of gameplay and character-building.

I was having fun until that point. Afterwards? No. I couldn't be bothered.

I actually feel like this game is horribly misunderstood.
The whole premise of this isn't to be a clone of Resident evil, or even pry off of your nostalgic feelings for past resident games.
In itself, it's supposed to be cheesy, the voice acting is supposed to be bad, because things like that in 90's horror games were like this, and to be honest, it works really well here. Only a couple hours in, but have watched the games stream and many other gameplay videos, and from an outside perspective, or a person that has been spoilt in the newer age of horror games, they'll just see this as trash, because they don't quite understand the concept of what it's trying to be.
I'm not saying it's going to be the best game you'll ever play, but if you enjoyed horror games growing up in the 90's (like me) chances are, you'll probably enjoy this and laugh at how bad the situations and voice acting are.
The game is also pretty challenging when set to the difficulties the Developers recommend you play on.

Pretty bad. Its like a poor man's REmake2, but it uses nostalgia as an excuse for its cringey voice acting, buggy puzzles, and bad camera.

Just play REmake2 instead, it goes on sale often anyways.

This game is fluffed by mediocre combat, an abysmal story, and every once in a while a dysfunctional puzzle

This is just a really bad third person horror game. The animations are horrendous the puzzles are often unsolvable. There was one part in the game where you were locked in a room and had to find a four digit combination lock, and when you go upstairs you can find the combination on a bookcase labeled on the books themselves. When you enter it it flat out doesn't work. There's another puzzle where you have to write out an entire Greek alphabet and I have absolutely no clue how you were supposed to solve it.

saves the game BEFORE you start a puzzle and not AFTER you solved the puzzle.
means if you solve a puzzle and you die after, you have to solve the puzzle again.

thats more than just annoying.
its just a cheap way to stretch the game time.

another way to stretch game time cheap:
letters and notes with 13 pages where one page would have been enough to tell you the same.

tbh, not even shooting the always same zombie models can save it.
its a pretty boring game, full of glitches and a weapon reload system straight from hell.

I'm going to give a cautious 'It's alright but...' for this one.

Daymare is a straight-up homage to classic survival horror, and unfortunately that goes both for and against it. On the plus side, the game looks pretty decent for a smaller title, the guns handle well, the score is pleasantly atmospheric and while the puzzles are indeed difficult at first blush - the logical solutions aren't far away.

The problem is that the story is absolute drivel. I can't really put it up to purely translation - the story flounders through terrible dialogue, with a conspiratorial plot that requires you to log on to the Daymare website to get all of the lore (which is precisely two steps further than I could be bothered) and concludes with a 20-minute post-credits epilogue that's full of information that should have been conveyed throughout the game proper. I think there's some confusion when people think of 'twists', believing that they're supposed to be a last-minute 'gotcha' that subverts our expectations, when they're actually better served at peak moments as the story goes along, redefining our motivations and giving us fresh context.

As it stands, if you can enjoy Daymare for the gameplay, which is again, pretty fun, then that's alright. Just ignore the plot.

Sideways thumb. This review is more neutral than negative.

I can see how some folks would get a lot of enjoyment out of this game. However, it is not for me.

This game has some of the worst combat and inventory mechanics I have EVER experienced-- and I've played a LOT of games. I should probably be embarrassed that I've spent over 30 years playing as many games as I have but I don't have much shame. :P

In addition to that, I have gotten quite a few fatal exceptions and errors so the game crashes a lot. Apparently it's a mixed bag for many gamers here-- it either runs beautifully or like utter sh*t. I got both. It ran smoothly until it didn't. Then it just CTDs.

The atmosphere is solid, the voice acting is kind of over the top, and the story is overdone but one I enjoy. I like that there a lot of achievements to chase and the graphics are decent too.

As previously mentioned: Combat and inventory mechanics basically ruined this game for me. I can tolerate crashes. Lots of great games have crashes.

Since the game's primary focus is to stop the spread of a contagion by killing everything, you would think that combat would be much more fluid. It isn't. It's clunky, counterintuitive, and unresponsive. Running out of bullets is nearly unavoidable as the 'infected' take several bullets to the brain to actually kill. I tried both the easiest and the hardest difficulty and it didn't matter. I was always out of bullets and melee was a complete joke. The infected that were suited up in full body armor took 6 strikes to kill and the scientists in lab coats took over 20. What in the world??

I'm used to being able to kill things when I slap em with a single headshot in tons of other games. This one is the opposite. I wonder why they decided it would be more fun to always be out of ammo and have to spend several minutes trying to flog something to death since melee is unresponsive and you run out of stamina trying to beat things to death. Good golly, what a headache.

I'm really bummed out. Sad face, my friends. This looked like it would be a really fun story to play through, but alas, it was not meant to be.

If you're able to play this and get more out of it than me, I'm happy for you. It warms my heart when others are able to do what I cannot. <3

I just couldn't make it work.

I bought this game while it was on sale and I wasn't expecting a lot based on many of the reviews here. However I was very surprised to see how well made the game actually was in terms of level design and atmosphere, a fair amount of time was obviously spent on the art assets. It's probably the best value for money I've ever gotten on a game and it filled my craving to play a RE-type game.

As others have pointed out the inventory management is the main drawback of this game and can be quite annoying to use, but after a little while you do get used to it and learn how to use it quickly. If it wasn't for that one issue I feel this game would have a much better review score. Another issue I read about before playing this game was that finding enough ammo for bosses is hard.

That caused me to be very conservative with my ammo and I ended up having way too much ammo, I think if I played normally I still would have had enough ammo. If anything I think this game is more generous with ammo even compared to several RE games. I also didn't think the zombies were too strong or fast, they can move fast at times but I think that just makes the experience more intense.

My main problem is that the game isn't very long, I was able to finish it in 2 or 3 days and that was taking my time. The fact I played it several days straight until I finished it is a sign of how good this game is though. After the first chapter is when I really started to get into it more. The military-type scenario you start in put me off a little bit but it quickly sucked me in with the way it switches between characters.

A solid game, if not a bit on the difficult side...

Made by a small indie studio, from a project that started as passion for Resident Evil. So expect the typically indie problems. Poor voices/audio low quality models, public use sounds and ridged acting. Though when you get past all that, at the core it's a great game.
Inventory management has an extra challenge that will either come as an annoyance or challenge to rise up to, what with not pausing the game, and being slow to navigate.

One big name voice actor is a huge plus, even if he doesn't carry the game.

Story wise it's pretty good, though it feels like the devs realized that they needed to tie up loose ends towards the end.

The website to learn lore idea is great in concept, though in practice I found it super annoying to have to tab out to read what should have been in-game files. Really kills the pace, rather it did, until I just stopped reading.

If you like challenging gameplay, enjoy survival horror, and have some time to kill, show the studio some love and grab it

Tl;Dr solid 7/10 would recommend

Really? Do I have to Reload every single clip of ammunition I use? And If I use fast reaload it just drops it and I have to pick it up again even surrounded by enemies? Great touch of realism added to it, but it just does not work with a non pause and slow navigation inventory. Great graphics, great ambience. But its just not worth it if the gameplay is not that great. I really tried to give it a shot, really tried to convince myself that it is just some controls that I have to get used to, but no. Just can't play this. Great game, great ideas, but its not for me.

The game screams 90's genre from the get go, I love it. If anyone complains about dated conversation or lines then they need to go watch a 90's movie!

There's only one problem I have with this game:

Head shots. When the zombies get about 5 feet away, your character, even though aiming at their head (and basically point blank range), can't seem to hit it for shit. It's rather infuriating and I've wasted too many rounds because of the 95% hit chance and the game pulling an XCOM on me and missing every shot.

7/10

Game is decent but does have some mechanics that I didn't like. For example the reload system it takes way too long to open the inventory menu then too long from action to action. Reload gun, reload clip. I think I spent more time reloading than enjoying the game. If you run out of bullets and want to swap to another weapon when are anemies are closeby it is better to run then swap the gun.
Do not recommend game at full price.

Pros:
Scary game.
Another RE alternative.
Puzzles are back.

Cons:
Gun reload system sucks.
If enemies are close to you bullets go through them.
Slow weapon swap.
Clunky controls.
Save points are too far apart or hidden.
Aim sucks when using a controller.
Boss fights need more uniqueness got tired of running.

Tl;dr:

More of a neutral than a negative. Pick it up on sale if you don't mind some of the mechanics.

Pros:

 • Very atmospheric environments
 • Chilling music
 • Actually had puzzles unlike RE3R

Cons:

 • Slow, hard to navigate inventory that doesn't pause the game (I'm fine with no pause but it needs speed and navigation improvement)
 • Feels like they want you to kill enemies but then you can get to a boss and be out of ammo
 • None of the characters are really likeable or memorable
 • Mostly meh voice acting
 • No melee weapon that does damage or saves you from getting grabbed
 • Zombies have turbo, take too many headshots, and often get back up
 • Almost no health pickups, just mind and stamina pickups which I found useless

Closing thoughts:

Note: I did not finish the game.
I made it to the chapter 3 boss which consists of 2 bullet sponge enemies. I did not have enough ammo to beat them and not enough interest to start the chapter over.
I'm sure more patient players would find a way to conserve ammo. However, every time I picked up a box of ammo
they threw a pop up enemy in an otherwise clear area.
. To me, that indicates that you want me to engage in combat.

Now I love the RE and SH games and I can get by dodging, knifing, and knee capping. This game doesn't have a knife or dodge mechanic. There is a very slow melee attack (does no damage) that will interrupt a zombie but you really have to time it right since the zombies go into turbo mode when they want to grab you. Even if I wanted to knee cap them, there are so many in some sections that it just kills the exploration factor.

There is a reload mechanic where you have to fill your empty magazines to be able to reload without going in the inventory and then remember to pick up your dropped magazines. It was interesting but didn't really add anything to the gameplay for me.

It's not a terrible game and I would be interested to see another game from the studio to see what they've learned.

Tough to review this game because I am thoroughly impressed with its design and [most] of its mechanics, conversely I am bitter because of the boss scene where you attempt to outrun the monster that is mostly impossible.

I absolutely loved playing this game. I did not play Resident Evil 2 when I was younger however I know this game is heavily inspired by it. They even gave a shout out to Capcom in the credits of the game. This game is MY Resident Evil 2. The graphics are crisp and polished. It plays and feels like a AAA game. I really enjoyed the gritty story, puzzles, and the different POV's of each character. I found myself chuckling at the throw backs to the 90s.
Look for the movie posters.
I honestly don't understand some of the more harsh reviews for this game. Some people complained about the voice acting but that did not bother me in the slightest. I looked at it in the same light as watching a movie from the 90s. The boss fights are challenging but no impossible like some people make them sound. This game does a great job at being vintage and sticking to the theme; as well as being immersive. I genuinely felt scared walking down hallways or turning corners. I found myself shooting dead bodies and checking my corners a lot more often. Overall I really REALLY enjoyed playing this game and hope to play more games set in this universe in the future!

Its alright? I don't recommend this game full price, but if you're an RE fan you'll probably like it for a bit. This game was originally the RE2 remake from a fanteam though, but I would say just do another replay of RE2Make or wait for RE3Make that drops on the 3rd.

The magazine/reloading system, while interesting, completely hurts the way the game feels and makes it incredibly clunky and annoying to play when you're fighting. It feels great in a game like Escape From Tarkov but in Survival Horror it feels out of place, but I respect them trying to do something there. Hurts inventory management the most.

Its a b-rate, linear Resident Evil game and has about 8-9 hours of playtime. This game would've absolutely benefited from a map style like Resident Evil games, making a couple different hub maps to explore rather than a game to just playthrough but RE is also a Triple A franchise and this is indie, so I can't fault them there. What I can fault them for, however, is the incredibly stilted and awful cutscenes. Hunt Down the Freeman-tier dialogue and animations, over the top and edgy the whole way through.

The final boss fucking sucks, not fun at all. If it even gets within 5 feet of you, it can one hit you. Even when its a knock down animation, it can one hit you. Seriously, fuck that! What were you thinking? This last boss fight makes me want to refund this game.

Also some weird anachronisms like Army Zombies being dressed in UCP, and Humvees being decked out with M2 CROWS, Russian UAZ trucks here and there in Idaho. I'm sure its whatever they found for free assets though.

I would really like to give thumb up but ONE boss fight ruins the game. You have to run from a monster that instakills you if he reaches you. Takes 7 bullets from strongest weapon before he takes a knee. You can shoot explosive barrels for the same effect. Half of the time explosion damage takes a holiday doing no damage and other half the explosion kills you. End of the hallway you have to wait for a lift. The lift never comes. Monster rips your head of. Rage quit.

Fun and interesting game play that brings strict inventory management, complex weapon reloads, and interesting puzzles to the forefront. With that said, this game hits the mark as an updated 90's survival horror game not only with its mechanics, but with the outlandish story told through over the top dialogue and a really strong atmosphere. DO NOT come into this expecting top voice acting, and a clear/concise story. DO come into this with an open mind and the ability to laugh a bit at how lines are delivered. I really enjoyed my time with Daymare: 1998.

It tries really hard to be resident evil, but fails in almost every way, the gun play is frustrating and boring, the enemies are more of a chore than an obstacle, and the puzzles are annoying time sponges. that being said it is quite cheaper than the RE2 Remake, and it is at least somewhat entertaining if you need to waste time.

Ever wondered what would happen if a great game and a great story was filled with shit dialogue to convey the story, well this is it.

The gameplay especially samuels part was amazing, exploring the hospital was very fantastic and fun, tho the gun play could've been miles better its still very decent.

The story is great don't get me wrong but the way its told is very downright bad as an example take this you start as Special agent Liev and then when you progress into samuel since he doesn't really know whats going on yet meeting the dead turns out to be a shocker for him and you've already put an hour into the game at this point so logically speaking you already know what's been going on all this time, in my opinion the start could've been executed in a much better way.

The dialogue My god i don't need to explain this buy the game and play it because it really is fantastic some moments keep you on the edge and you really feel fear sometimes, something i no longer get in resident evil, but i found the dialogue especially sams part to be very annoying, when conveying a stroy through a character each person in the story must have weight and emotion behind their voice acting, samuel seemed to be given a very bad script and it was like he was reading from a paper and faking emotion overall very cringy o unbelievable, liev started out great but when he reached the helipad part my god that was one of the cringiest things I have ever heard and the rest same story but liev was atleast fine.

If you wanna have a fun time with a bit of frustration from difficulty in a survival horror then your gonna enjoy this :)

very challenging. the tension is there and one has to get used to old school game mechanics. good story and ending, i applaud the writer(s). impressive graphics and lighting. voice acting and animation is good. Sam's haircut and beard annoyed me.

for a team of 10 developers i consider this project AAA. can't wait to see what they work on in the future.

A great game to scratch your survival horror itch, especially if you enjoyed Resident Evil 2 Remake. Maybe one day I'll write a review for this game once I do another run through, but for now I just want to say try it out if you enjoy survival horror.

Would be a great game except for the bug where it doesn't get past the loading screen between a mission deep into the game.
