In 3 Stunden Spielzeit 6 Abstürze.

Very good if you liked the first game. Very good writing.

No actual decisions / roleplay; in that respect it's a pure walking simulator but with some light puzzling.

Graphics serviceable, they humans look distinctly deep inside the uncanny valley but you get used to it, and the raytracing support really adds a bunch as long as you turn off the hair grooms...

This one is better than deliver the moon. It's more of an interactive movie in many places. Lots of boring flashbacks, but overall, this one lends itself well to making the story believable, mostly...Deliver Mars is actually good enough for full price, deliver moon get on sale.

Voice acting, sound work and the story are top of the line for an indie game.
But the technical aspects are a major let down imo. There are frequent, severe shader compilation stutters throughout the game that breaks the immersion and flow of the story. Specially annoying when it happens during cutscenes which were beautifully made.
Shader compilation stutters are unacceptable in 2023 and until devs include a pre-compilation step at the start of the game I cant recommend the game at full price.

The game was visually great, mechanics were fun enough, however the story line was terrible. So many diatribes about morality made the game difficult to play.

Additionally all the characters were ugly. To the point of it being distracting. It the character graphics felt similar to those of the polar express. Deliver us the Moon was significantly better in almost all aspects.

Bit less melodrama and a bit more sci-fi and game-play please! The character models in CS 1.6 had better depth.

I regret buying this game, even on sale as it is a mediocre title at best. At first the story had me engaged the near future technology and a mystery that of some bigger thing that you don;t know about. But as the game progressed, I became disillusioned, where by the fifth chapter I had stopped caring and have no desire to continue playing. I also was not a fan of how the game tried to break up the exploration with puzzles which themselves were ok, but felt forced, like they were there solely to try and give you something different to do, but they were not fun or enjoyable to solve. Then there was the rock climbing sections which I absolutely hated, playing with a Mouse and Keyboard was painful, as it was clearly designed with a controller triggers in mind. This added a layer of action that was not needed in any way to the game, as the story had enough suspense going on, until that is even the story I became disillusioned with too. What started off as near-future tech, turned into a weird amalgamation of sci-fi mixed in with it where more and more things that were previously grounded in reality, were being hand-waved away as some ahead of its time tech that seemed less and less plausible to exist in the world that had been shown to me up until that point.

The original was engaging, rich with sci-fi and interesting puzzles.

The sequel insists on constantly going back to being a kid, and long, often buggy tedious follow missions, taking you away from the puzzles, or else overly long conversations. Clearly the writers were in charge of the pacing, and it suffers for that - but at least a lot of the conversation bits are skippable.

If it could be played without all the kid time stuff (WE GET IT THE EARTH IS DYING) it would be much better.

I really wanted to like this game, because I loved the first one. However, unfortunately the game did not turn out the way I had hoped it would.

I could have forgiven the very rough character models (and specifically faces), since this is not a AAA title. But there are numerous other issues as well. For starters, I didn't care much about the Johanson family drama. Isaac Johanson is a sociopath and deserves some jail time, not a redemption arc. That I didn't find the main character very likable (both her looks and the way she acts) certainly didn't help either.

Also, while the game still is a walking simulator, it clearly tried to be more like one of the post-reboot Tomb Raider games. But at the end of the day the platforming mechanics were by far too clunky for a satisfying Tomb Raider-style experience. On top of that the game is so riddled with cutscenes that at times it felt like I was watching a movie rather than playing a game. Could y'all game directors please stop pretending that you're movie directors? Thank you.

Only recommended for very hardcore fans of Deliver Us the Moon.
