In Depraved steuerst du die Pioniere des Wilden Westens. Du startest mit nur einem Planwagen voller Ressourcen in dein Abenteuer.
Suche dir einen geeigneten Platz für deine erste Siedlung aus und beschaffe dir Baumaterialien aus der Natur oder von Händlern, um deinen Einwohnern eine Heimat zu schaffen. Je zufriedener die Bewohner sind, desto schneller wird deine Stadt wachsen.
Versorge deine Einwohner mit Nahrung und Wasser, damit sie nicht verhungern oder verdursten. Schütze sie vor der Witterung und vor Krankheiten, indem du sie mit Kleidung und Feuerholz versorgst.

Du wirst auf deinem Weg zahlreichen Gefahren begegnen. Unwetter, Krankheiten oder Banditen werden dich heimsuchen, und auch deine eigenen Einwohner können zu einer Gefahr werden, wenn du ihre Bedürfnisse nicht stillst. Bist du bereit für diese Herausforderung?

Bedürfnisse
Die Einwohner in Depraved haben Bedürfnisse. Ihre Grundbedürfnisse sind Hunger und Durst, die du mit Nahrung und Wasser stillen kannst. Darüber hinaus benötigt jede Bevölkerungsstufe einen anderen Nahrungstyp. Falls deine Bevölkerungsstufe in einen Nahrungsengpass gerät und das bevorzugte Nahrungsmittel nicht zur Verfügung steht, kannst du sie auch mit einem alternativen Nahrungsmittel ernähren - allerdings wird sich dies negativ auf die Stimmung deiner Bewohner auswirken. Unzufriedene Einwohner zetteln Schlägereien an, begehen Überfälle und andere Straftaten oder verlassen die Stadt.

Je zufriedener die Einwohner deiner Stadt sind, desto beliebter wird das Leben in ihr und mehr und mehr Siedler schließen sich dir an. Wird deine Stadt aber von Hungersnöten, Krankheiten oder Gesetzlosigkeit geplagt, dann kehren die Einwohner der Stadt den Rücken und die Straßen werden zu denen einer Geisterstadt.

Gefahren
Der Wilde Westen ist gefährlich! Dutzende Herausforderungen warten darauf, dass du dich ihnen stellst. Es gibt unterschiedliche Lebensräume, in denen sich deine Bewohner niederlassen können - doch jeder von ihnen hat seine eigenen Tücken. Während in der Wüste die Nahrungs- und Wasserversorgung schwierig sind, herrscht in schneebedeckten Gebieten eisige Kälte, der du nur mit ausreichend Feuerholz trotzen kannst.

Eine weitere Gefahr geht von der umliegenden Tierwelt aus. Auch wenn die meisten Tiere die Menschen meiden, solltest du dich vor Wölfen oder Bären in acht nehmen. Sie können deinen Einwohnern schwere Verletzungen zufügen oder sie sogar töten.

Auch umliegende Banditenlager können dir in Depraved gefährlich werden. Unterschätze sie nicht, denn sie bestehlen deine Einwohner und begehen Raubüberfälle. Solche Gräueltaten wirken sich auf das Sicherheitsgefühl deiner Einwohner aus und kosten dich wertvolle Ressourcen.

Indianer
Du hast es in der Hand: Indianer können entweder deine Freunde sein, oder aber zu deinen schlimmsten Feinden werden. Erbaust du eine Siedlung in ihrer Nähe, fühlen sie sich naturgemäß zunächst bedroht. Um sie milde zu stimmen und ihre Gunst zu erlangen, solltest du Handel mit ihnen treiben. Du hast kein Interesse an einem friedlichen Miteinander? Dann bekämpfe die Indianer und erobere ihr Land!

Seit Jahren passiert nichts mehr, rausgeschmissenes Geld. Tut euch den
Gefallen und lasst die Finger davon, und investiert lieber woanders

Entwicklung wurde Anfang 2020 eingestellt und wird nun als vollwertiges Spiel gehandelt obwohl wir uns technisch und vor allem inhaltlich noch in einer early access/irgendwo zwischen alpha und beta befinden.
Es hätte ganz toll werden können, aber was an Substanz jetzt da ist reicht eben nur für ein paar Stunden Spielspaß danach flaut der Wille auf spielen zu klicken in der steam Bibliothek ganz schnell ab.

Eigentlich ein nettes Spiel mit etwas angestaubter Grafik und doch eher simplen Animationen, aber vielen kleinen Dingen und Liebe zum Detail. Soweit eigentlich alles ganz OK, ist eben ein „kleines Spiel“…
Leider bleibt aber der schlechte Eindruck hängen, dass man hier ein Spiel mit unverbrauchtem Szenario angefangen, aber nie beendet hat. Anfangs (noch im EarlyAccess) hat man deutliche Fortschritte gesehen. Man konnte einen Plan erkennen und sehen, in welche (richtige!) Richtung das Spiel gelaufen ist. Und dann… kam einfach gar nichts mehr… Das Spiel wurde offiziell veröffentlicht und es kamen dann noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten, Bugfixes und Co. Das war es dann aber. Das fühlt sich irgendwie an, als ob man bei einem Rennen, das gut läuft, nach 70% irgendwo rechts ranfährt und keine Lust mehr hat.

So schön die Teile gemacht sind, die da sind, kann ich heute keine Kaufempfehlung aussprechen. Im Angebot kann man es sich mal angucken und ein paar schöne Stunden ein oder zwei Städte aufbauen. Man darf sich halt nur nicht wundern, wenn es hinten raus öde wird und man das Gefühl bekommt: Da fehlt jetzt was - wo ist denn das Ende?
Schade!

Die ersten Stunden ein schönes Spiel mit einem erfrischend unverbrauchten Szenario welchem es aber leider nach ein paar Stunden an Tiefgang mangelt.
Warum das so ist? Weil auch hier scheinbar mal wieder ein Entwickler die ersten guten Einkünfte abgegrast hat um dann ein halbfertiges Spiel zu veröffentlichen und sich aus dem Staub zu machen. Dies ist leider kein Einzelfall auf Steam und man sollte versuchen solche Entwickler herauszufiltern bzw. zu sanktionieren.

Das Western-Thema hat mich begeistert und zum Kauf verführt. Anfangs war ich dem Spiel offen und positiv gegenüber eingestellt (trotz nur knapp 4 Std. Spielzeit), aber letztlich bietet es einfach zu wenig Inhalt. Ja, es handelt sich um eine Alpha.

Ich denke aber, dass der Entwickler keine Energie mehr in dieses Spiel setzt. Das letzte Update bspw. fand im Februar 2020 statt und in einer Ankündigung seitens des Evil Bite las ich irgendwo einmal, dass bereits ein weiteres Spiel mit exakt gleichem Konzept, aber anderem Thema in Planung sei. Spart euch das Geld und wartet lieber auch eine vollständige Version. Wobei ich bezweifele, dass diese jemals kommen wird.

Ich finde es vom Anbieter einfach nur unschön und frech.

I want to like this game and I´ve given it a very fair amount of time to improve but still the micromanagement is terrible and it does not seem to be planned to get worked on.

I mean you have to manually run over a person to get a weapon some enemy droped, you have to manually send your people to defend when 20 meters away a unarmed villager gets murdered and so on... its just a orgy of clicking one person to send to do a tiny task and it just takes away so much from the core gameplay...

Depraved ist ein simples Aufbauspiel/Citybuilder. Man startet auf einer vorher generierten Karte und fängt an sich seine eigene Westernstadt aufzubauen und zu verwalten. Es gibt einige coole Features und außer dem fehlenden Tutorial kann ich hier keine großen Negativpunkte entdecken! Leider gibt es keine Kampagne/Story zum spielen, mindert aber nicht den Spielspaß!
Wer auf solche Spiele steht, wird sehr wahrscheinlich nicht enttäuscht sein.

Depraved

Wer wie ich Anno- und Siedlerfan und immerzu auf der Suche nach interessanten Aufbauspielen ist, kommt um dieses Spiel nicht herum, sofern er denn darauf stößt. Bei mir geschah es eher zufällig beim Stöbern im Shop. Doch was taugt das kleine, eher unbekannte Western-Aufbauspiel?

Die Animationen reißen es raus

Wer sich anfangs von der etwas altbacken anmutenden Gesamtoptik nicht verschrecken lässt, entdeckt beim näheren Hinsehen, wie liebevoll die Bewohner animiert sind. Speziell davon kann sich sogar das wesentlich aufwendiger produzierte Anno 1800 eine Scheibe von abschneiden. Trotzdem hätten dem Look von Depraved schönere, wenigstens ein bisschen zeitgemäße Shader und etwas detailliertere Texturen an den Gebäuden gut getan. Die Country- und Westernmusik ist stimmig, sehr passend zum Setting und verglichen mit der Grafik relativ aufwendig gemacht. Allerdings wiederholen sich die für einen Spiele-Soundtrack teils arg markanten Tracks oft, was mit der Zeit etwas nerven kann. Unterm Strich aber wirken Grafik und Sound recht solide auf mich, deutlich aufgepeppt durch die schönen Animationen. Doch wie ist es mit dem Gameplay?

von Schießkolben und blutenden Bewohnern

Das Gameplay-Konzept des Spiels ist ein gelungener Mix aus Banished (Jahreszeiten, Survivalaspekt) und Anno (Bedürfnisse der Bürger durch Herstellung von Waren). Zusätzlich aber können oder vielmehr müssen wir Bewohner wahlweise automatisch oder mit direktem Befehl mit Pistolen und Gewehren ausstatten, um die Siedlung zu verteidigen. Je nach Schwierigkeitsgrad greifen uns regelmäßig wilde Tiere, Banditen oder Indianer an. Wird ein Dorfbewohner durch einen Angriff verletzt, fängt er an zu bluten, was ihm kontinuierlich die Lebenspunkte raubt - Jedenfalls bis er schleunigst einen Arzt aufsucht oder das Zeitliche segnet. Ein Indianer kennt keinen Schmerz - von wegen! Denn dieser Besuch beim Arzt kommt weit außerhalb der eigenen Stadt stets viel zu spät, sogar wenn wir unseren Verwundeten in Windeseile mit einem Pferd heim galoppieren lassen. Hier wäre eine Art Feldarzt human wie praktisch gewesen!

Für eine bessere Verteidigung unserer wachsenden Stadt kann man des Weges stolzierende Revolverhelden anheuern, denen man dann einen festen Bereich zum Aufpassen zuteilt. In den passen aber kaum mehr als ein, zwei unserer Gebäude, weswegen man eine ganze Menge von den Schießeisen-Recken braucht, um die Siedlung gut verteidigen zu können.

Die langsam wachsenden Stützpunkte der Banditen und Indianer können wir ganz nach RTS-Manier mit dem manuellen Auswählen unser Bewaffneten Leute angreifen. Das geht aktuell aber noch etwas fummelig von der Hand, da die Befehle oft nicht gleich ausgeführt werden oder die Einheiten sich schwer anwählen lassen. Unterm Strich sind die Kämpfe aber eine willkommene und wichtige Abwechslung vom Aufbau-Part.

Banished 1800

Der dominiert nämlich unterm Strich und spielt sich eigentlich recht ordentlich. Es wurden bekannte Mechaniken aus Anno verwendet, wie etwa das Einrichten von Handelsrouten zwischen mehreren Dörfern oder das Gründen eines neuen Dorfes mit einem Planwagen - wie das Schiff->Kontor-Prinzip in Anno eben.
Zur Vorbeugung gegen Seuchen bauen wir Ärzte, Ställe und Latrinen (Jupp, richtig gelesen!), und zur Bekämpfung von Bränden ... ihr wisst schon.
Es gibt 3 Bevölkerungsstufen. Doch hat man je nach Schwierigkeitsgrad nach 10-17 Stunden alles gesehen, wenn alle Einwohnerbedürfnisse erfüllt und alle existierenden Gebäude unserer Westernstadt gebaut sind. Nett wäre eine Handlung in Form von kleinen Quests mit Entscheidungen a`la Frostpunk gewesen, oder ein paar mehr Gameplay-Mechaniken, oder weiterer Lategame-Content. Es auf einen höheren Schwierigkeitsgrad zu stellen, würde das Gleiche vom Gleichem bieten, nur etwas zäher. Daher hat es mich leider nicht länger im eigentlich reizvollen Wilden Westen von Depraved gehalten.

Unterm Strich kann ich Depraved mit 1 1/2 zugekniffenden Augen dennoch empfehlen, allerdings nur Aufbau-Enthusiasten wie mich, die das Spiel im Sale ergattern. Für den Vollpreis müssten meiner Meinung nach eine flüssigere Bedienung und mehr Content her. Ich hoffe da kommt noch was, denn das launige Spielkonzept hat sehr viel Potential.

Drepraved ist ein recht gut gelungenes Spiel mit vielen Möglichkeiten der Selbstgestaltung. Zu Beginn fängt man mit einer Kutsche, geladen mit etwas Proviant, Material und einigen Pionieren, sowie mit etwas Startkapital an. Dabei kann ein beliebiger Punkt gewählt werden, an dem eine neue Siedlung entsteht, die zu einer großen Stadt weiterentwickelt werden kann. Im späteren Verlauf des Abenteuers können weitere Siedlungen errichtet werden, wenn man sich denn so entscheidet, oder aber, wenn genügend Geld vorhanden ist, können gleich mehrere Siedlungen gegründet werden, mit denen ein offener Handel möglich ist. Wenn die Bedürfnisse der Pioniere und der späteren Siedler, und oder der Kaufleute befriedigt sind, können die Hütten upgegradet werden. Dabei gibt es unterschiedliche Schwierigkeitsstufen, die ich jedoch nicht ausprobiert habe. Zu den Schwierigkeitsstufen kann zusätzlich eine Auswahl getroffen werden, ob Bandite, Indianer, aggressive Tiere es geben soll, und ob sich die wilden Tiere vermehren sollen.
Um die Beziehung zwischen den Indianern und den eigenen Siedlungen zu pflegen können Handelsbeziehungen aufgebaut werden und/oder gegen ein Tribut diese besänftigen und somit in Frieden leben. Das funktioniert jedoch nicht mit den Banditen. Banditenlager müssen vollständig zerstört werden.
Je nach Beziehungsstatus greifen die Indianderstämme von Zeit zur Zeit die Siedlungen an, was aber kein Problem darstellt, weil es sich hierbei nur um einige wenige Einheiten handelt. Das gleiche tuen auch die Banditen, die dann im späteren Verlauf, wenn der Sheriff freigeschaltet wurde, festgenommen werden können.

Obwohl das Spiel doch recht gut gelungen ist, gibt es auch negatives zu sagen.
So gibt es mehrere Bugs, wie z.B. das die Bewohner hin und wieder stecken bleiben und ihre Zufriedenheit sehr stark sink. Erst dann kriegt man das überhaupt mit. Nach einem kurzen Befehl sind sie wieder befreit und können ihrer Tätigkeit nachgehen. Dabei, wenn die Bedürfnisse wieder erfüllt wurden, steigt auch gleich ihre Zufriedenheit. Bei einer längeren Unzufriedenheit können diese Siedler kriminell werden oder aber die Siedlung verlassen. Ein anderes Problem stellt die Arbeitszuweisung dar. Wenn die Rohstoffe abgeerntet wurden, kommt hierzu ein kleiner Hinweis. Nach einer neuer Zuweisung, obwohl die Rohstoffe verfügbar sind, kommt dennoch ein hinweis, dass es keine Rohstoffe zu finden gibt. Das Problem konnte ich meist durch die Zuweisung einer anderen Rohstoffquelle lösen. Sobald diese erkannt wurde, konnte die ursprüngliche Rohstoffquelle angewählt werden.
Das größere Problem stellt sich für mich jedoch in Richtung Performance dar.
Ab etwa 180 Siedlern wurde das Spiel zur Diashow. Ab etwa 220 Siedlern musste ich bereits mehrfach einen Befehl geben, damit dieser akzeptiert wurde. Dabei war die Auslastung meiner CPU bei gerade einmal 20%, der GPU bei 10% und des RAM (16GB) nur 50%, und die der SSD lag bei 1%. Wieso auch immer konnte das Spiel bei dieser Auslastung nicht mehr flüssig laufen und ist somit unspielbar.

Mein letzter Punkt betrifft das Tutorial und die Kampagne, welche nicht vorhanden sind. Das bewerte ich absolut neutral. In meinen Augen benötigt Depraved weder eine Kampagne, noch ein Tutorial. Der ein oder andere sieht es vielleicht etwas anders. Aber jemand der ähnliche Titel gespielt hat, sollte sich hier sehr schnell zurecht finden können. Ich benötigte nur drei Anläufe, um die wesentlichen Spielmechaniken, sowie das Wirtschaftssystem zu verstehen, um dann auch in einer sehr kurzen Zeit viel Geld zu verdienen.

Ich vergebe somit folgende Punkte:
Spielsspaß: 9/10
Unterhaltung: 10/10
Musik/ Soundkulisse: 7/10
Grafik: 7/10
Spielbarkeit: 1/10 => Bei diesem Punkt beziehe ich mich nur auf die Siedleranzahl von min. 180
Gesamt: 7/10

Ich empfehle das Spiel trotz einiger Fehler weiter. Vielleicht kommt auch tatsächlich ein update, das zumindest die Performanceprobleme in den Griff bekommt.

Langweilige Western-Style Aufbau Strategie ohne Highlights und Tiefgang, bei dem es an allen Ecken und Enden hapert. Wer sich hier ein Banished oder ähnliches erwartet wird enttäuscht sein.

This is a solid city builder, enjoying it a bunch!
Not sure what bugs the bad reviews are talking about - they could have been squashed by devs, becuse I encountered nothing. All was smooth except for a bit tiny lag once, when rain effects were present. I am well into late game and so far everything is fine.
Game is quite fun, it has everything that makes a City builder tic, plus it is set in a unique setting.
Progression is rewarding, you quickly realize that you need to make thoughtful decisions or else you will go bankrupt...
Overall, good experience. Try it if you get the chance.

Wild West Age of Empires, fun for a bit but gets immediately old after you unlock everything. Maps feel small and other than random natives and bandits not much to do after you have your town(s) set up.

I thought I'd give this game a review, since it seems to be attracting both good and bad ones at the moment.
If you don't like quests and story-lines much, but enjoy a random generated map and sandbox style city building, you'll probably enjoy this. So far I've played it in easy mode, without bandits or aggressive animals, and often without native Americans too.

That ends me up with a whole world to myself, and I can set up as many towns as I like all over the map if I choose. It's a bit of a challenge supplying multiple towns with all their needs, and it's here that trading and transporting goods is necessary as one location is unlikely to provide all your needs. You will have to use the map to your advantage, to find the best locations to set up new towns.

Your pioneers will become settlers with the right goods and housing upgrades, and supplying them entails setting up tailors, weaving mills, sheep farms, crops, distilleries, bakeries and mills and the like. Later your settlers can be upgraded to merchants, with the addition of a few more goods, that you will need to make yourself or purchase.

It's interesting enough to keep you playing, easy to learn, and any fan of city builders will probably like it as much as I did.

It's a fun city builder but it does get very laggy later in the game. If the developers fixed this, it would be a really awesome game for those of us who love these kinds of games.

I was enjoying the game somewhat but it's just so ugly to look at, I couldn't take it any more. Unfortunately I'll give this a thumbs down, but I don't know of any other wild west settlement builders so it might be worth playing if you get it cheap.

The game has enough basic functions to call it complete but there is nothing to keep anyone long term. There is no end game or even late game. you just kind of repeat the same cycles over an over again until you get bored or everyone dies. As many have said the devs have not released a patch in over a year now so it's likely they've gotten out of dodge and left this game on the dusty old trail

What you get is sort of reskinned and rethemed Banished, but less complexe.

I have the impression, devs once wanted more for this game but lost interest. Made the basics work and said it´s done.
I bought it EA and they didn´t add anything in month but named it full release sometimes later.

Maybe some modders out there feel compelled to do a better job on this game.

But without them? As it is? Can´t recommend it.
It works, yes, but it´s boring and pretty bland. Won´t squeeze a lot of fun and gametime out of it.

I liked it. I enjoyed building an old west town. Just sad the devs gave up. Word of advice to any devs out there: DO NOT MAKE A GAME YOU CAN NOT COMMIT TO. Dont be like CD Projekts with Cyberpunk 2077 and leave a broken game broken. Learn from their mistakes...they were sued for their screw ups and still are being sued and still are screwing up. Dont be like them devs. Fix your games. Finish them. Dont be a coward and abandon it because you cant commit to it.

I really loved the wild west theme and the game mechanics. It has a really nice feel to it and I would want to play more of such games. However, I should point out the problems. here as well.

1. Bugs - its fine if a game has some bugs, but they should be fixed, which... eh...
2. Performance - Well this comes under bugs as well.

I would not say this is a major problem since lots of guys can play linear kind of games which do not have too much depth. This game here does not have a lot of depth.

I still loved the game and still play this game from time to time.

The problem is that there's not enough to do. You can play for about 30 minutes and have seen all there is about this game. The construction aspects are also very limited, the space you're given to work with is small and buildings can't be placed close to each other, there's no variety in what can be built, and all the buildings are either for resource collection or are very basic looking shacks. The game also flirts with having some diplomacy with the local American Indians, but fails to deliver since the Indians do absolutely nothing when you do treat with them. Trade is also disappointing because, unlike with a similar game Banished, the trade options never change so all you need to do is order what you want and that's it. And the train station is completely redundant because it's only used for trade. Yes, this game made iron horses boring. On top of that there hasn't been an update in a year now, so I have no expectation that more will be added to flesh things out.

I'm absolutely in love with this game! It's truly a work of art. The western theme of the characters and buildings is stunning and the details are impressive. I've never seen another game quite like this. I hope that this game gets expanded on in the future. It has so much potential to become something huge. I LOVE THIS GAME. Please give us more of it!

Not bad. the building is slow so I have kept it on max speed almost indefinitely. Straightforward uncomplicated game. A few minor bugs. There doesn't seem to be any overall purpose other than to build for the sake of it, the challenge is merely staying in credit (enemies are very weak). I am enjoying it, but I expect given 10-15 hours play I will have exhausted it.

Edit- Well, it is quite addictive, but it's annoying as hell. The in-game economy is busted. You have to end up broke because the only ways to make money are to sell resources or from rent. Unfortunately, nearly all resources cost way more to produce than you can sell them for, or they take so long to produce and in such small quantity that you need to either wait dozens of hours of real time play or build multiples of farms, the problem then is the cost of all these buildings will quickly bankrupt you. Even if you try to just live off rent you need to feed all those guys which will leave you in deficit. The only way I can see is to only make basic buildings and stick with pioneers, but even then you're going to run out of food and resources.

There is also a pretty annoying bug where your builders will suddenly stop working and will refuse to build anything else. you will get charged for the building and the resources will be transported, but they will not begin construction on any building. This bug can crop up at any time so you need to save often. With some modification this could be a good game, but it's too broken to actually succeed on a map & I understand the devs have abandoned the game.

This game is apparently abandonware, so don't waste your money. It's devs like these that take the money and run that I have made me vow to NEVER buy an Early Access game ever again. Have a bake sale if you need to raise funds to complete a game, but do NOT rip off your customers!

While it's still fun and I enjoyed it (you can finish it very quickly, though), there are some issues to be addressed that never will be, and so many improvements and additions that will never happen. Wait until it's been sitting for a few years and you can get this for a couple bucks if you want something to kill some time and you like city builders, and you don't mind throwing a couple bucks out for a few hours' entertainment, but don't expect polish or any in-depth gameplay.

The game looked good in the beggining. A Banished version in Wild West with some extra content in battles. Not a lot of bugs. The game is now abandoned I guess, no updates, no extra contented.

pros

- love the weather cycle
- great attention to small details
- better than average graphics
- great foundation to build on with improvements
- bandits/native american interaction is a nice aspect

cons

-terrible economic system at all levels (easy medium hard)

at hard you pretty much can only build one way or you will fail
at medium you can waiver a little but not much
at easy not much different from medium
if you want to build only a logging town and never advance your populations status then you have no worries
the economic system completely ruins the game

other details that i think could use improvement but are not as critical to my rating.

-distance between buildings
old west towns commonly had buildings that were connected in rows. you are unable to do that, causing the layout to have alley ways between all buildings. frankly it doesn't look authentic to me. this also has the effect of making the decorations useless. sure you can build a nice city center with the decorations but they are not very useful to put in front of buildings because they stick out way away from the building. the light posts are about the only useful decoration for widespread use. i just build a large road and line them down the middle. once again trying to put on either side of the road looks awkward given the distance they must be placed from the buildings.

my biggest and only real concern is the economic structure. it doesn't allow much freedom to build the town the way you envisioned it. i tried a few different concepts to test it out and the ridiculous exchange rate hampers those efforts.

This could with a little work be a great game! The music is fantastic the atmosphere great but the games terrible ai kills the fun hunters only hunt in a tiny area you have to manually set same for loggers it gets old real fast having to do endless micromanagement that the devs should just program better unless the devs stop being lazy so you dont have to be bored avoid this game

It's not a bad game. The problem is that it feels like it should be Early Access.

It has potential, but so many little things just kill it;

-Slow respond (click on something, half of time it doesn't register, when it does it will take 2 seconds or more before it registers).
-No tutorial or basic explanation of what is what. It is clearly on a grid system but I can't find a key to show grid and plan.
-People just not respond to basic commands (Tell a hunter to pick up meat that's right in front of him, no, just go back to his cabinet then his area. Tell a guy to pick a gun, he won't drop the log he is carrying. Tell a guy in the middle of a work to go to area, so we can defend against gangs, no, he won't move, just continue to work, and let bad guy kills him.)
-Idle workers for no reason (just standing there right next to the well, instead of take water into storage or go help building something or go do other things to pass time as in real life; no, just standing there like an idiot.).
-Zoom is too limited; Can't zoom in enough to issue commands when things are crowded, can't zoom out enough to plan the town.
-So on...

It feels more like a demo then a full game.

I hit the 3 hour mark and felt like I was done with this game. Sadly it was to late for refund. Tried to keep playing but I didn't even make it to 5 hours before uninstalling. considering I have thousands of hours in many single player builder games a game isn't worth a thumbs up unless there is enough to keep me interested for at least 50 hours.

I would pay the price of a redbox rental for this game tops.

Had a lot of fun playing this for a few hours, but it get boring very fast. No quests and easy gameplay, even on hard mode. Could use some kind of storymode/challenges to spice things up. But yeah.. Just buy it during a sale maybe, if you really want to play it.

Depraved is a fun city builder with a Wild West theme. I was immediately in love with the overall feel and fun factor. There are plenty of missing 'quality of life' improvements that sour an otherwise enjoyable experience though. And while there are some fun detailed elements, such as roads forming over the repeated use by the sims, there are plenty of other features that annoy or distract from the afore-mentioned fun of the game. For example, the sims AI seems to be very basic and sometimes frustratingly stupid. The graphics look good for the tier of pricing it sells at.

It's a good time-waster, good for those who enjoy a city-building, sandbox experience. Not much in the way of missions or goals though, which sucks a bit. In summation, not bad.

I can't even play this. I've tried on a Mac Laptop, a Windows desktop, and neither of them can get me past creating a new map to play on. This game looks so good and I want to play, but I'm physically unable to even load it on my computer.

Considering this is a fully released game it is lacking stuff to do. It needs missions or challenges to give you a reason to come back and play more.

An exceptionally boring city-building sim with no depth, and no quests or story to move things along or give you any guidance as to what to do next. After the tutorial, which lasts only moments and gives only the barest (and least necessary) guidance concerning the game's basic mechanics, you're on your own. There isn't even much in the way of sound: after you turn off the instantly annoying music, all that's left is the background noise of your city's laborers, which is probably more useful as a sleep aid. Depraved is marginally amusing for an hour or two, but that's not worth the investment even when it's on sale.

Great idea and good fun to play once. Thats it. looks unpolished and has boring simple mechanics. Many buildings are worthless since they cost money and dont provide much of a gain (bank, train staition etc.) which makes the problem that there are few buildings and things to do even worse. The most stupid thing is u cannot line up buildings right next to each other like in a proper western town. so the few buildings with nice fronts u have cannot be connected. Makes me wonder if the Devs ever seen a wild west town setting.

i would of loved this game if it was a tiny bit longer and had some form of tutorial in game for you to play and build up to in say a campaign style of learning step by step as you go from one mission to the next. like with pharoah. game is on the other hand very good just not long enough for my liking i wanted something where i could build a city and add to it like with assassins creed 3 in the main homested this however isnt and for 20 quid just seriously wasnt worth the money i paid for it today. 6 hours in and ive very nearly completed the game already with the achievements for it such a shame however i cant refuse it a thumbs up coz over all its a very good game just not on the price or length

I was quite looking forward to this game. The theme is great and it's fun for a little while, but ultimately it's relatively easy to figure out and excel at. The balance becomes really intuitive quickly and thus it has little replay value. There are no more challenges really after a few hours of play. Ultimately I enjoyed it, but it just doesn't have replayability.

I ultimately recommend it because it is well put together and relatively unique within its genre. I would, however, like a lot more out of it. It's scope is small.

This is the game I've been waiting for since childhood: a western more focused on American expansion than gunning down baddies in the street (there is also plenty of that). Apparently I've put in over 15 hours at the time of this review (quarantine) which is remarkable considering how broken it is. Fighting with enemies is a disaster. Reassigning work areas seldom happens within the first 10 tries. Same for trade routes. On top of the glitches, the game play is shallow. There are only a handful of buildings, most of which have one function. Players need only focus on town income to understand how well they are doing. If income is low, build more shacks. If income is high, look for a dead horse in the street because you probably haven't built enough stables. The overall game world is charming but choppy. If you've played Dawn of Man, you remember the intuitive game play, serene graphics, and smooth exploration. Comparatively, Depraved is a windy day on Lake Michigan. I am hopeful that future patches will correct the broken mechanics while also deepening player experience. It does seem as if they're building toward that, it's just a ways off. I'll try again in a year.

I bought this game thinking it would be an in depth city builder... instead, it kinda feels half finished. There's very little in the way of a tutorial, so you're learning controls and functions by trial and error, which is frustrating. The game ends after three years... which isn't that long considering how long it takes to get your settlement to a point where you can even use the mid tier development stuff, and the absence of any sort of road/transport building other than the trade hub was disappointing. I was expecting something more fleshed out... the wild west theme is nice, but doesn't make up for the missing pieces.

This game is not worth the $30 full price. What sounds like a unique and long-awaited addition to the city builder genre just can't match up to the standards set by others games like it. The graphics are not great and the colouring and animations are unnatural at best, which would be a bit more excuseable if everything else about the game didn't strive for (albeit simplified) realism. The UI is not intuitive, which is dangerous in a game that offers virtually no tutorial past a couple of pop-ups when you start a game to explain camera angle and basic movement. The resource chains seem appropriately complex, but are punishing combined with the non-existent guidance for new players and the bizarre building unlock progression that leaves you scrambling to construct more buildings to make your existing ones functional. Additionally, your pioneers feel empty and bland; they're more like building and transport machines than actual people with any personality, and the tiered citizen system is confusingly implemented. The music is one of the better parts of the game, which is lively and has a few different tracks, but I feel even that will get old quite quickly. Overall, I feel the game is ugly, unpolished, and lacks the kind of learning curve that any more complex city builder needs - especially if it's going to forego a tutorial. As someone who has played the majority of city builder type games, and with the number of these types of games on the market, i cant recommend this title.
For those who like the era, and city building, this may be a decent play for 10 hours or so.
Unfortunately, as you continue to play the game, you will realize that some essential balancing issues exist. Without going into major detail, a lot of buildings and units are redundant, income is difficult to acquire, and has nothing to do with choices, but with the nature of the game. With so many good games on the market, I would recommend a pass on this for anyone except those that love the ERA of this game.

Took several attempts to launch a game, and then a few more to launch a saved game. It seems to be worth the hassle though. Am 6 hours in now, and haven't gotten close to seeing everything. I feel like I'm going to spend many hours in this game.
Have spent a long while playing Banished and this is quite like that, but feels freer. Have gotten through my first winter and there wasn't the awful dread of children dying of starvation.

One of the best Western city builder games, The Soundtrack is one of the best ones ever in my opinion. All around great game w/ lots of amazing gameplay

This is more like an early 2000-2005 game. The graphics are limiting, the peeps are basic and predictable. And, where the game is taking you is bland. I like the subject matter, and it kept my interest for a few hours, but overall it's an uninstall. It's an under 10 or even 5 buck game, so don't waste your money at full price.

Yeehaw, to the Wild West we go!

I love city builders and this is the idealistic type as it has to you focusing not just on your builds, but your citizens and numerous threats as well - ranging from the weather, diseases, bandits, Indians and of course the wildlife.

Whilst this game looks and sounds spectacular, there are also a few elements of the game that could be improved on. Things such as an advanced tutorial for elements that aren't so clear cut, such as how to get settlers etc, how to set up trade routes successfully etc. Some more building and production items could also prove ideal, but not necessary. Other than that the game is pretty good!

I've watched this game go from Mixed reviews to where it is now, and it is great to see the developers constantly working hard on improving the game.

Love this game.
Great builder/ resource management game.
Only 1 tiny thing is I would like a map editor instead of or
included with the random map generator.

Many players like to put this game and banished into a comparison, imo banished might so far has the upper hand.
The way of population increase doesnt reli make sense in depraved, new pioneers just simply walk through the dangerous wilderness into the settlement, which sometimes end with a murder by the tribe and bandits, then worsen the relation with them. It's only reasonable as the way gunslingers and the wanted approach.
I like the setup of deprave, development of the wild west face real military threat which not much of city builder games contain that tune ur mood into cautious.
So it would be delightful if the developers adjust the way of new pioneers approach. For me using the existing railway/trader mechanics should correct this flaw.

The game is 'kinda' fun, it has a banished feel but lacks much of the banished mechanics. I liked seeing the settlers 3/4 approach to expansion of territory but this game falls flat when it comes to gameplay. It needs alot of polish and tender loving care and real mechanics. You shouldn't have unlimited crops, it should have a seed system like banished. I found it impossible to make settler class citizens and there seems to be a lack fo a jail but perhaps it was because i was unable to get to that stage despite many hours and having the resources available. The AI nations are very poorly made and are basically static for the most part, that needs a ton of work.

The idea is GREAT!! The music is awesome. But...there are some major memory leaks going on or some dire need for optimization and better coding. After about 50 townspeople (or maybe 2 towns, not sure) the game starts to play VERY slow and laggy, even on a great PC. When I came back to play and tried to load the savegame, the loading screen sat there for 10 minutes. I know it was doing something as the bullets slowly showed up in the barrel of the gun (bottom left of screen), but it was amazingly slow. Keep up the good work, but optimize, optimize, optimize!! I'll consider purchasing again once all the bugs are worked out.

This is a sweet game and I loved playing it, but I will never in a million years recommend this game to anyone unless you fix the game breaking save bugs that keep on making me and the rest of us delete all our progress and restart with new games just so that we can play it, this is not an new issue, it should have been fixed over a year ago....come on team, pull your finger out and get on that, give us a nice game we can play properly as we have paid for it. I do understand that a lot of hard work goes into making these games, but not being able to save and then reload that save after just reinstalling just before the save was made means this is simply unplayable, I will be happy to recommend once this issue has been fixed and I will be more then happy to stream it too, Thank you
