Fade to Silence ist ein herausforderndes Open-World-Survivalspiel vor der Kulisse eines ewigen Winters. Begrenztes Leben und endgültiger Tod machen diesen storybasierten Kampf ums Überleben noch schwieriger, aber dauerhafte Boni werden dir helfen, dich durchzuschlagen und die unerbittliche Welt bei verschiedenen Spieldurchgängen zu überstehen. Selbst wenn du dein sechstes Leben verloren hast, bleiben wichtige Fähigkeitspunkte und andere permanente Werte, die du erzielt hast, beim nächsten Versuch erhalten ... und beim übernächsten und beim überübernächsten ...

Als Spieler schlüpft ihr in die Rolle von Ash, einem geborenen Anführer, der sich seinen eigenen Dämonen stellen muss. In dieser Rolle erkundet ihr postapokalyptische, eisige Einöden, um die zum Überleben erforderlichen Rohstoffe zu sammeln und euch einen Unterschlupf zu errichten. Aber aufgrund schwindender Ressourcen müsst ihr schon bald selbst für einfache Aufgaben wie das Verbessern von Ausrüstung und Sammeln von Materialien gefährliche Expeditionen auf euch nehmen. Dabei müssen Spieler weite Gebiete durchqueren, in denen sie auf unheimliche Monster treffen – und auf einen weitaus schlimmeren Gegner: den erbarmungslosen Winter. Die frostigen Temperaturen fordern zwar unaufhörlich ihren Tribut, aber die tödlichste Gefahr geht von den Schneestürmen aus. Wird man von ihnen überrascht, hängt das eigene Leben an drei Dingen – dem eigenen Können, einer unbändigen Willenskraft und einer ordentlichen Portion Glück.

Um alle Herausforderungen zu meistern und zu überleben, muss der Spieler Gefährten finden und in seinen Unterschlupf bringen. Ihre Fertigkeiten und Charaktereigenschaften sind der Schlüssel zu höher entwickelten Ressourcen und Ausrüstungsgegenständen. Ohne diese Weiterentwicklungen steht dem Spieler nur das Allernötigste zum Sammeln zur Verfügung und er kann nur provisorische Werkzeuge und Waffen bauen.

„Du bist froh, Holz gefunden zu haben. Endlich wird im Lager wieder ein warmes Feuer prasseln! Während deine Wölfe den Schlitten nach Hause ziehen, achtest du nicht auf die seltsamen Lichter im Wald. Du hast für heute genug getan.
Plötzlich frischt der Wind auf. Ein Schneesturm zieht heran. Die Stimme in deinem Kopf fordert dich auf, weiterzufahren: „Na los! Du hast genug Zeit, um es ins Lager zu schaffen.” Du bezweifelst es, aber wenn du jetzt anhältst, musst du das kostbare Holz dazu verwenden, eine Unterkunft zu bauen. Es fängt an zu schneien. Du musst dich schnell entscheiden: Gehst du das Risiko ein und fährst weiter? Oder gehst du auf Nummer sicher und verlierst dadurch dein Feuerholz?“

Bei Fade to Silence erlebt ihr das Zusammenspiel der verschiedenen Kräfte, die unter harten winterlichen Bedingungen herrschen, hautnah. Die Gruppe stellt sich einem komplexen Kampf ums Überleben, bei dem die Hauptfigur und ihre Weiterentwicklung im Mittelpunkt stehen. Durch das dynamische Wettersystem taucht der Spieler ein in eine eisige, vom Verfall durchsetzte Welt, die ihn immer wieder aufs Neue dazu zwingt, Wetterphänomene richtig zu deuten und entweder nach einem Unterschlupf zu suchen oder umgehend ins Lager zurückzukehren. Durch die dynamische Schneeverdrängung hinterlassen sowohl Spieler als auch NSCs realistische Spuren, die euch Auskunft darüber geben, welche Regionen vielversprechende Jagdgründe darstellen und in welchen euch böse Überraschungen und aggressive Monster erwarten.

„Du bist auf der Jagd. Die öde, verschneite Landschaft erscheint endlos und unerbittlich. Ein Schlitzer taucht wie aus dem Nichts auf. Du wehrst ihn ab und entgehst nur knapp seinen gewaltigen Klauen.
Dann siehst du es: ein Feuer in der Ferne! Ein Überlebender? Unmöglich. Aber du hörst ein seltsames Geräusch – eine Stimme? Die Hoffnung zerreißt dir fast das Herz, endlich nicht mehr allein! Aber die Stimme in deinem Kopf gewinnt die Überhand und versucht dich daran zu hindern, der Sache auf den Grund zu gehen. „Wer hier überlebt hat, muss furchtbare Dinge getan haben“, sagt sie. Du bringst sie zum Verstummen, verbannst sie vorübergehend aus deinem Kopf und schleichst näher heran. Gemeinsam mit einem anderen Überlebenden könntest du das Lager ausbauen, Nahrung sammeln, Wild jagen. Du siehst jemanden – ja! Hier draußen ist noch jemand! Dann hörst du einen Schrei. Aber du zögerst noch. Wie sollst du anderen vertrauen? Noch ein Schrei, diesmal verzweifelter. Es gibt nur einen Weg herauszufinden, was hier vor sich geht.”

Sehr schönes Survival Game !
Von der Story her, hätte man eventuell mehr machen können, jedoch finde ich zu einem Survival Spiel muss nicht immer eine Tolle Story dazugehören, wenn der Rest top ist !
Ich würde das Spiel weiterempfehlen, da es sehr Spaß macht.

Anders geiles Spiel wünschte die Story währe noch etwas mehr ausgebaut und ein paar Bug behoben. An manchen stellen wusten die devs aber nicht genau was es für ein spiel sein soll(es hat sehr viele Unterschuiedliche spiel Elemente). Aber es hat mir sehr gefallen 8/10

Fade to Silence ist ein schwierig zu bewertendes Spiel. Ich kann die negativen reviews durchaus nachvollziehen, es wirkt an manchen Stellen noch etwas unfertig, bspw. glitchen NPCs, Tiere oder der eigene Hundeschlitten manchmal durch die Spielwelt oder ein NPC spricht plötzlich englisch, usw. Aber bisher hatte ich keine bugs die negativen Einfluss auf das gameplay hatten.

Auf der positiven Seite stehen meiner Meinung nach ein mysteriöses Endzeit Setting und ein paar ziemlich interessante Spielkonzepte. Ich war zunächst abgeschreckt davon daß die Ressourcen bei einem Survival Spiel endlich sind, aber im Grunde ist es (bisher) kein Problem wenn man nicht verschwenderisch damit umgeht, und man verspürt immer einen gewissen Druck weitere Gebiete zu erschließen damit einem nicht das Holz/Nahung ausgeht. Interessant finde ich auch daß ein Großteil des Craftings über die Gefährten bzw. die passenden Gebäude funktioniert, d. h. um bspw. Medizin herstellen zu können braucht man einen Gefährten der den entsprechenden Skill hat und muss noch eine Medizinhütte im Lager bauen (was wiederum Ressourcen kostet). Die Gefährten können nicht nur Gegenstände herstellen sondern sind auch für den Gebäudebau zuständig, gehen selbständig jagen oder Bäume fällen, verteidigen das Lager falls es angegriffen wird und einen Gefährten kann man auch als Kampfgefährten mitnehmen.

Das Spiel vereint viele Aspekte aus Survival, Exploration, Soulslikes und Aufbauspielen zu einer sehr gelungenen Mischung, wobei es aber leider in keiner der einzelnen Disziplinen so richtig glänzen kann.

Aber: In welchem anderen Spiel kann man einen Wolfsschlitten fahren?!

Also Alles in Allem ist mein erster eindruck von dem Game ziemlich gut. Zumindest bis jetzt scheint das setting und die Story ganz interessant zu sein und das Gamehandlich finde ich persönlich sauber umgesetzt, da ich kein Controllerfreund bin weiß ich nicht ob das viel aussagt aber ich für meinen teil finde die Tastatur + Maus Umsetzung passt. Schade finde ich das es keine EXP im eigentlichen sinne gibt und kein Aufleveln, dafür gibt es aber viele andere Interessante RPG Faktoren wie z.B. das Aufbauen des Hauptlagers und das Herstellen von sowohl gebrauchs als auch Ausrüstungsgegenständen. Die Syncro ist (bisher auf DEutsch getestet) nicht atemberaubend aber sie nervt auch nicht. das Spiel erinnert zwar im ersten Moment sehr an Dark Souls doch finde ich es Lange nicht so frustrierend und das Wiederbelebungs-system hat seinen reiz und nervt nicht nur. wie gesagt ist das ein erster Eindruck und der ist wirklich mal wieder auf spezielle art richtig gut. Allerdings Ist das spiel auch relativ schwer auch wenn es einen einfachen Modus gibt welchen ich allerdings noch nicht getestet habe. Es ist kein spiel um es mal kurz nebenher zu spielen also für Leute die ein schnelles simples Hack&Slay Game aller God of War bevorzugen ist es denke ich mal eher nicht das richtige und für Leute die auf Komplexes Klassisches RPG aller Divinity: Original Sin oder Neverwinternights mit RPG Regelwerk im Hintergrund und so ist es denke ich mal zu wenig RPG aber für die denen einfaches Hack&Slay zu simpel ist aber auch nicht 8stunden lang charaktererschaffung plus 50stunden hintergrundgeschichte lesen wollen auf das Fantasy genere stehen aber gerne mal in ner einer nicht fiktiven welt spielen möchten Ist das Game genau richtig. so reicht jetzt ich muss weiter testen ;-)

Hab Leider deutlich mehr von dem Spiel erwartet. Anbei was mich, am meisten stört.

- Extrem lange Laufwege
- Leere Welt in der es nichts zu entdecken gibt
- Langweilige Dialoge
- Zeitdruck da Rohstoffe nicht nachwachsen aber kontinuierlich verbraucht werden
- Gefährten KI die nicht macht was sie soll
- Gegner sind lediglich gefährliche Deko, da es keinen Grund gibt sie zu bekämpfen
- Aufbau des Camps extrem langwierig
- Hundeschlitten viel zu langsam und kippt ständig um.

Könnte an dieser Stelle noch weiter schreiben jedoch sind die wichtigsten Punkte aufgelistet.

Hallo Zusammen,

hier mein Review zu Fade to Silence nach ca 5 Stunden Gameplay.

ich kann allen Leuten dieses Game empfehlen die eine Herausforderung suchen.

Dieses Game wird meiner Meinung nach in den Kommentaren zu unrecht zerrissen.

In der ersten Spielrunde ist mein Charakter verhungert, erfroren und einfach von Monstern getötet worden.

Es braucht seine 2-3 Stunden um die Spielmechaniken kennen zu lernen und herauszufinden was wichtig ist.

Das Game ist ein Überlebens Aufbauspiel für Hardcore Gamer die lange etwas von einem Spiel haben wollen.

Die Fortschritte die im Game erreicht werden bringen einen langsam vorwärts, das gefällt mir.

Solltet ihr alle 4 Leben verlieren, verliert ihr euren kompletten Spielstand und müsst von neuem beginnen.

Ihr findet dies ungerecht, hier kommt der Haken!

Durch das erledigen und looten der Monstern findet ihr Splitter die euch Vorteile im Spiel verschaffen.

Des weiteren ist es möglich nach eurem permanenten Ableben ein Schicksals Punkt zu verteilen der euch bei einem Neustart Vorteile bringen wie zb. Ihr startet mit viel Brennholz oder Ihr dürft euren Zwinger samt Schlitten und Wölfe behalten (natürlich müsst ihr diese vorher gefunden und den Zwinger gebaut haben)!

Nach und nach Erweitert ihr eure Basis mit Gefährten die ihr überall in der Welt finden könnt.
Ihr lasst durch Sie Gebäude bauen, Wild jagen oder Bäume fällen.

Zum Kampfsystem:

Es gibt die Möglichkeit den Feind mit einem Bogen aus der Ferne oder klassisch mit Nahkampfwaffen zu erledigen.
Darunter fällt z.b. ein Schwert eine Axt oder eine Spitzhacke.
Der Ausdauer Balken ist sehr begrenzt und man muss seine Angriffe sehr koordiniert durchführen.
Ein blindes Buttonsmashen wird nicht zum Erfolg führen.
Außerdem könnt ihr Angriffen ausweichen oder diese parieren wenn die Ausdauer Low ist.

Grafisch könnte man aus dem Game zu mindest für den Pc mehr rausholen, aber es reicht für eine sehr schöne Landschaft.

Laut Hersteller gibt es 8 KM Landschaft zu erkunden.

Super ist auch das Überlebenshandbuch in Game das euch die Spielmechaniken erklärt.

Um des beste Spielerlebnis zu erreichen, ist ein Controller zwingend erforderlich!

Viel Spaß beim zocken.

Loved the game, but it is extremely buggy. Too bad it is stuck in a catch-22, need to be popular to be fixed, but it needs to get fixed in order to get popular.

I had seen a video about this game a long time ago when it first came out and it looked amazing, now i finally get to try it and have fallen in love with it, still not sure what i'm doing or need to do, or how or where to find more followers but hopefully will see that in time. So far my only feedback to help in-game life to run more smooth would be to have in the main camp area stamina not go down so fast, and to be able to access all crafting materials inside the refugee camp storage from any crafting station/campfire within the camp. i just find sitting down to the campfire then realizing I don't have the right material and then having to get out of campfire and go into the chest right behind me and then go back into the campfire is just tedious and time consuming.

I'm ultimately thumbing this down despite the fact I think the game is relatively fun and the concept is pretty neat. There's not a lot of games that explore Lovecraftian horror at it's fullest other than the MMO Secret World Legends. The performance of this game is why i'm not recommending it. I'm getting constant bad frame rates despite having well over the recommended specs for this. The voice acting is also laughably terrible. And I'm talking about 1996 Resident Evil bad. The visuals are good, I hate the controls, and the setting and environment is pretty neat. But the fact I can't play this without bad frames is making this a no from me. I think this could've been a great game if given to a developer who was better with this genre. In the end this was a wasted potential.

Okay, I just want to start off by saying that the start of this game is great, atmospheric, decent mechanics, it all gelled pretty well.

Then I got people in my settlement.

Oh my god I have never seen a more useless group of people in my life. They can NEVER harvest enough food or wood to keep themselves going, every time you assign them a task they go 'nah bra, ima go to sleep' regardless of their exhaustion level, they refuse to keep working on assigned tasks AFTER going to sleep, they will never finish a single fucking building without you just sitting on it and constantly assigning people, and to put the bow on top the tutorial straight up lies to you about what they do and how much they consume!

As I said, first two hours of this game were great, the last hour, where I died 3 times(thanks to the charging fucker who takes zero damage from attacks and can charge through rocks, so you can never even tell what direction he is charging from) was a master class in how NOT to build a game.

Do not buy this game until they fully revamp it.

Broken and unplayable.
The Game wil get stuck on th loading Screen every Time, when you try to re-enter your Save.
This seems much more like an abandonet early Acces then an actual finished game.

Make sure you get to read Building and upgrade descriptions.
Having a HUT for every follower and upgrading them keeps your followers from using all your FOOD and FIREWOOD.
at the end of the game I had 15,000 fire wood and 400 food.
FOOD and FIREWOOD was never an issue for me.

*Playing the game It felt unfinished.
*There are only 4 Monsters to fight.
*I ONLY glitched into the ground 1 time ever surprisingly.
~~When monsters attacked my base several would spawn below the ramp and just do nothing. This caused me to have to go out and find them and kill them as they stood there to make the attack phase stop.~~
*Once you add buildings your followers will glitch on them witch is only visual they still get there jobs done from the other side of the stronghold.*
The story is made up of fragmented memory you have when you sleep that are short and lack luster.

I only payed like 3.00 USD on G2A and I would not recommend paying more than 5.00 USD.
It's good If you need to kill time hours fly by.

Game will no longer load a game or start a new one, reinstall and maybe it works once or twice but then have to do it again due to same issue. Tons of people with same issue going back a long time with no solution other then reinstalling everytime (verifying doesn't even work, and a full reinstall only works half the time) Only help they offer is the promise of a patch to fix things but they have never followed through with one

Fade to Silence is one of those games that grows on you the more you play it. It is visually stunning and the snow looks amazing as your Wolves tread and sled. The weather system is challenging at times but comes easy to deal with as you progress through the game. The area for building is small, so there are pieces you may not get to build. Crafting has enough depth going for it to keep your followers busy/crafting while you're out exploring, and for natural progression in the game. There's only a handful of enemies in the game, and the AI becomes predictable/easy once you get a feel for it. Combat is very simple with Light, Heavy, Parry and Roll. The feel of the combat reminds me of the Gothic/Hellblade games to get a sense of it. Followers have some interesting character arcs/writing and i enjoyed listening to the dialogue for the most part.

A big boss would've been nice and would aid in making the ending of the game a bit more impactful.

Grab the game on sale!
Overall I would give the game a 7.5/10

Not sure why this game gets as much hate as it does.

Is enjoyable so far but I am a sucker for survival games so keep that in mind. The game's pacing plays more like a speed run you need to work fast to gather the supplies you need to survive. There is permadeath in this game though it's not as severe as most roguelikes.

Hopefully, they make a second game though with the sales and mixed reviews for the game I doubt that will happen.

honestly its a great game. a wonderful game. the story really gets good especially at the end. it has some rougelike things like when you die permently you can unlock permenent upgrades or you'll find crystals out in the world that increase stats that stay with you forever.

i honestly hope they think of another one because with how the ending(s??) are I really hope another once comes out.
Its great and if its on sale totally get it (sales are always good) I think it is well worth playing.

it's story is on the dark side so do be warned about that.

(I just LOVE that my daughter can stay strong while so ALONE)

this had alot of potential and it isnt necessarily a bad game, it feels like a souls like game but there isnt really any challenge as every enemy has 1 attack they mainly use to attack you so once they maybe kill you once they wont kill you again because they attack so slowly and you can easily roll to avoid all attacks

TL;DR:
Only recommend in a sale. Not bad, but plagued by bad gameplay decisions..
Finite resources creates a time limit that doesn't fit the permadeath+survival combo and the slow/hungry followers doesn't make it any easier.

POS/NEUTRAL
- Survival game that is not about zombies
- Sort of interesting lovecraftian/cosmic horror story
- Combat is simple but fun (kinda like Dark Souls)
- Followers have a backstory
- Cool enemy design
- Interesting rogue-like system that gives a bonus to the player when he/she loses all lives.
- You can actually craft more lives and find more in the outpost and from certain bosses.

CONS
- The followers consume too much resources, and you need them to craft better gear
- Followers sometimes stop doing what you asked to do whaterever they want.
- Resources are finite, which is not a problem itself, but is annoying when combined with permadeath and greed and slow followers. You want to explore the world, but no, need to cleanse that outpost fast before my baby followers starve.
- The dog sledge is useless. It get stuck every time and the controls sucks.
- Crafting made by the followers have very long crafting times, and they need to sleep every 5 minutes. Feels like a free-to-play mobile game. They became faster and able to do better things after some time, specially after upgrading some buildings, but time is the most importante resource in this game.
- Poor writing and voice acting ruins the main character and followers stories.
- Enemies can kill you with a few hits. You can compensate it by upgrading you gear but.....the time limit.

Not gonna lie, This definitely isn't the greatest of games. And a bit buggy.
( Couldn't even get the last Achievement due to bug's either)
BUUUUUUUUTTTTT~
I did enjoy it, Quite a bit to be honest.
Played it quite a few times as well.
Music was pretty great.
Graphics are decent.
Story is interesting. I enjoyed the cut-scenes you'd get when you got some rest.
I enjoyed learning of the various characters as well.
I'd say about 7.5/10

Get it on a sale, somewhere between 15 and 20 USD it's definitely worth. Why?
Graphics are very nice
Ambient Sounds are good, steering controlling takes some getting used to but basically ok.
Lack of a tutorial beyond basic controls and first tasks means you have to figure out what the heck you're supposed to do. I guess it's part of the fun.
There are a few interesting twists and turns, but it does have a tendency to get a bit repetitive.

I really wanted to enjoy this game. I gave it a good go over the span of a few years trying to play it on and off. The problem is that it just can't live up to what I want it to be. Resource management is a drudge, you're followers use up so much of it you are forced to try and push into higher tier zones, but without higher tier gear, you can't get any of the resources but to get higher gear, your followers have to make the stuff for you... and they take so long, it's never ending alerts that so and so is tired and needs to rest... thus they don't make the gear. The game has a fun idea, but poor execution. Bad combat balance, bad resource management, bad voice acting, great story premise, bad execution. I tried, but this game just isn't what it could have been. There are hard survival games, then there is this drudging system.

Worst Coop Mode I have ever played. You can't do shit in coop. You can't build buildings. Use Buildings or any other Base-related stuff when you are not the main character. You have to be always nearby the main character

the game is good but I cannot restart without the bonuses. I tried deleting the saves and yes I did not allowed cloud to download the saves but I still cant get rid of the bonuses. A shame really, the devs really just need to sort this issue out by creating a small patch that allows you to start a new game completely fresh.

It's Definitely an interesting concept all together. Feels like Dark souls, Community builder game, Survival game, and one of those games where you have to restart from scratch to get points to improve and reach farther into the game (not sure what those types of games are called) all mixed into one. It can be a challenge at first to get use to it but as long as you at least reach a boon token even failure is progress. Be prepared to micro manage your villagers though because as soon as they finish a task they will do what ever they want and wont stick to a task to completion. For example I had a villager building a wall. He built one section and then just decided he was gonna go hunt instead of finishing the wall. and you have to do that for each thing. Need a bunch of wood? well they'll clear out one forest and then go do something else. And in order to retask them for some stuff like building walls or huts. You have to trek all the way back to the main base to retask them. All in all though I'm enjoying the game I'd say 4/5.

Fade to Silence is a tragic game that could have been good but had major corners cut and a lack of a budget.
There are parts of a good game in FtS, and you can physically see them.. but it tried to be too many major game genres while delegating its story to the backburner.

You start the game in a empty room with no story or cutscenes and the only thing you are greeted to is a small basic tutorial before being thrown into a open world which will never explain anything to you and instead expect you to piece things together on your own, the game doesn't even take the time to explain character stories to you and will force characters to talk to you about their backstory that was never explained in the first place.

Even the enemies are largely unfinished and you will find the large majority of Enemies to have little to no AI and no combat ability. There was only a single enemy in the entire game that gave me any trouble and would often infact kill me, but this was only due to the fact that it could teleport and would end up chasing me down all while teleporting away from me before I could actually hit it.

The game could have been a decent game if they had spent more time on the game, a true shame. 4/10.

I do recommend this game, it is very straight forward and good for a play, sadly it is missing some key components for end game such as new game plus or dlc, but overall i believe it is work playing at least once given the story was quite interesting.

I don't know why I never reviewed this game when I finished it. I haven't played it in nearly 2 years but I had a really good time with it. Don't get me wrong. It's clearly a low budget, B-Tier, buddy, rough mess of a game... but it's fun. It's charming. I had a great time with it and couldn't put it down until I had finished it. Honestly stoked for whatever BFG makes next. Here's hoping it's just a bit more smooth around the edges! :) Recommended

Simply could not get past the loading screen. After waiting for five minutes any attempt to exit or close the game would result in a black screen that could only be exited with a hard reset. Multiple fixes attempted. All failed.

This game is not what I expected. Solo is fine but Multiplayer is HORRIBLE. a LOT of bugs and can't play properly ... I don't recommand it for multi but single is fine

I'm always looking for a good survival game. I like the winter setting and brutal nature of this game. Survival mode is a good challenge and requires planing on how you go about harvesting materials and food to sustain your camp long enough to cleanse all of the corrupted locations in the game. As you progress, you will need to upgrade weapons and clothing to deal with the more significant challenges ahead. The combat is mediocre, but I see this as more of a survival challenge than a combat-oriented game. There's not much in the way of tutorials, and learning how to build your camp, allocating followers to craft for you and figuring out how to harvest the right resources is a slight learning curve. The story is a little thin, but you get the idea that something has gone wrong with some experiment and the world has fallen into a deep freeze. The more engaging elements of the narrative get told through the short snippets of individual survivor stories you get from your followers. There's also a paranormal side to the game, with death constantly tormenting you, eager for you to die. At the same time, you will have several lives you can use if you do happen to pass away. Death will revive you, if not for some twisted game of watching you die all over again. I enjoyed using the dog sledge to get around, had some fun moments exploring that way. If you like survival games, with a bleak narrative, then I'd recommend this game. Make sure you wear warm socks though.

+ man, it feels like the winter is... ok stop
+ a mystery to unfold
+ cut scenes reveals very little
+ a survival-ish kind of struggle-to-live-mama-help

- man, it feels like npc has maybe 2 sentences max

Worth it during this autumn sale for less then $10 if you enjoy exploration games. I like the permadeath mechanic it rewards actually playing but punishes mistakes. So far it has been completely stable and playing very smooth on a old i5-3570k and a GTX 1650 Super on Ultra setting. However, if you are looking for a big epic story this isn't the game for you.

It sucks I have to choose between yes or no, since the game is in the middle. It's quite simple and fun to play with a friend, but it's got a lot of problems.

Pros:
~ Simple and pretty fun
~ A lot of people hate the graphics, but I don't think it was that bad. They were quite nice and not too dated.
~ It's pretty fun to play with a friend (Almost necessary)
~ The ideas behind a lot of the mechanics and gameplay are pretty good
~ Couple area got a fuck around and find out feel
~ Despite what most people said, I had no trouble with coop combat

Cons:
~ A LOT of people complain about crashing, and I have a pretty decent computer. It wasn't much of a problem for me, and I didn't lose much progress, but I did crash once.
~ The easy difficulty is harder in my opinion than the base difficulty
~ The game has a permanent upgrade system for when you die, but I am over half-way through the game and haven't perma-died yet, so what's the point?
~ Coop takes about an hour of play to get to if you don't know what you're doing
~ Lots of visual glitches for the person on the coop end
~ What the fuck is the story? People say if you rush the game, you won't know the entire story, but that brings up my next point
~ You have to rush the game. The entire time I was playing, my followers were constantly draining all of my resources, and using more than they replenished. How does one person eat 6 bowls of soup and use 100 firewood a day?!?
~ Combat is super easy. No need to block, just roll then hit. The timing is very large, and you won't have to really worry about it. I have only met one enemy I couldn't beat, and that was because I apparently did not have strong enough gear to hurt him. To be fair, he wasn't even able to touch me. You can run through the game with level 1 gear.
~ Fuck the daughter. She's super repetitive and sometimes you get a glitch where even if you're half the world away, she'll talk to you.

I realize that was a lot more cons than pros, but the game is pretty decent to play with a friend. I would recommend it, but only if you can get it on sale. In no way should you pay full price for this game.

its just not good at all the grapics look like there from like 2010 not 2019. its like they tried to combine dark souls rust and a rouge lite in one the combat is the worst part tho its super clunky that said the actual map looks alright the art direction is good even with the dated grapics but i cant get past the combat and the one liners from the wrath thing the repeat constantly

This game is incredible. I bought the game three days ago and can't get enough of it.

The story is great, I enjoy the permadeath mechanics (you have a limited number of lives, but can get more). Graphics are amazing, comparable to the Shadow of War/Shadow of Mordor games, but the game runs incredibly smooth on an old i7 and a 1660. Combat is simple, but challenging. It actually works very well with the permadeath mechanics. Most of the time I don't have any trouble killing things, but if I get slightly cocky or don't pay attention I end up getting punished for it. New enemies are terrifying, in a good way. I am so far also enjoying the story. The environment/atmosphere is interesting, and I love exploring everything. I have permadied once, so I can say that while the map doesn't change, many other things do.

All these other reviews talk about bugs, so I'll mention my experience. This game has bugs like Skyrim/Fallout, Ark, or any other open world game with collecting has bugs. According to steam I am 18 hours in, and there hasn't been one game breaking bug. I had to go to the main menu once because of a graphical glitch, but that fixed it. There are some other minor bugs which either don't affect your gameplay or you can circumvent in seconds.

Cons
The crafting UI is optimized for controller and is a bit clunky on mouse/keyboard, so use a controller if you have one.
There are some non-game-breaking bugs. For example there is a separate sound for walking on a frozen lake, but in one area it still plays the walking-on-snow sound.

TLDR
If you are thinking of buying it I would absolutely reccomend trying it. Remember that you can refund in 2 hours, but as long as you enjoy survival games I'm confident you won't.

Edit: finished it. Loved it. There's still more to do, which I may come back to at another time, but not now.

It's a good idea made by a team who couldn't deliver on it. If you really like open world and having a central base to build, you might have fun here; but I accomplished almost everything in my play time, get it on sale.

Exactly the game i've been looking for!
- Permadeath( 3 lives) /replay value,
- punishing 3rd person action,
- light survival,
- harsh cold weather factor,
- base building/defence.
- Dark and mature atmosphere and characters (Im growing tired of cartoonish oversaturated lowpoly games)
I'd like a deeper combat system and more freedom of mobility (jumping or climbing), but this game fills major holes in the survival genre. Looking for more from the devs!

Too many large bugs for it to be worth it. Its gameplay isn't anything special, and the combat is a sub-par version of Dark Souls. It doesn't have any redeeming qualities, and doesn't seem to be on the schedule to be fixed by the developers.

What to say...
Yes, I like the game. It's setting, the gameplay, the lovecraftian atmosphere it'S all there, BUT:

It doesn't feel like an actually finished game!
Some Effects (like wind) shoudln't be visible when sheltered, there a a lot of animations missing (like searching, talking or unocking) and also, if you ask me (and it seems a lot of other gamers) there are some immersive features missing, like actually seeing your equipped weapon, bow, arrows, bags, etc...

So all in all, yes I recommend the game, but only if your ready to play an unpolished game waiting for it's finish!

So please, if you (yes I'm talking to you development guys) don't want to polish the game up, please at least give us a modding platform to do this ourselves!

Conclusion: It still feels like an Early Access title...

Fun game.
Nice exploration and fun survival game. Combat system is semi easy but takes some getting use to.
Once you get figure out the strategy on how to kill the monsters it is straight forward after that.
Interesting story line that stays open throughout the game and 2 unique endings.
I like how in this game you can actually die and you get boons when you start a new game.
Enjoy. I give this game 3.7 out of 5

I enjoyed the game quite a bit, maybe because I was blessed enough to not encounter all the bugs other people seem to have to endure.

The game is a dystopic exploration/survival/base building game which is absolutely my jam, you are rewarded for putting in work, you get nothing handed to you, I enjoyed the NPCs I chose to let into camp, their stories were all dark and interesting.

Combat is simple, I don't find it particularly entertaining, it isn't atrocious either though.

The story presentation was very fitting for the game, you don't get spoon fed and I really got the feeling of being lost in the post apocalyptic world, having to find my own way forward.

The game is on the easy side though, I played on hardcore and never got to experience the permadeath mechanic or the rebirth system, this might also have been part of why the game was so short, I completed it in 13 hours and I was in no way rushing, literally standing around at times, staring at my NPCs working on whatever tool I had set them to crafting.
The game seems incomplete and a bit shallow, with some work put into it, I am certain it could become absolutely spectacular.

All in all I would recommend getting this game on sale, I found it very enjoyable, but it is too short to be worth the price tag.

Played and beat this game. Been a while since I last played it, and I just recently realized not many other games offer what this one does. There are tones of survival games out there, and tuns of base building games. There are not however games that scratch both those iches but provide you with NPC's that help you with gathering and building to make sure you don't spend to much time doing the simple grinding. If more games did what this one does as far as providing you with companions who gather items and build for you, I would be all over those.

Decent enough game, but the developers have abandoned it for another project without fixing the bugs. Co-Op is virtually unplayable with the desync (was the only reason I picked it up)

A unique and interesting game with some tough and challenging survival elements... It's really a good and interesting game in which you can: build your own base/village, upgrade it. You can craft all kinds of stuff, armour, weapons, food, potions etc. You can find and save some survivors which will help you fight and defend your village. There is a huge map, to explore and hunt some monsters. Story is not that deep but still interesting... Overall its a good and unique game..

This game already has me hooked, a survival and an easier element, both are hard, the same exact game, and I love it! You can go hardcore mode and have the risk of permadeath, or you can go easier, and death has no consequence sadly, but still a hard-driven game!
The variety of things to do, amount of land to explore, and the light horror element to the game make it purely amazing, and the characters and story have so much flavor! It's a good game, though the combat could do with a bit of shaping up, and there's a few bugs (my daughter is stuck underground .-.) (and trees sometimes fly) it's an overall well-made game! It just needs a bit of polishing up and it's perfect!
Two thumbs up! guaranteed i'll put 100 hours into this!

You get bored fast in the game after doing mostly the same thing over and over agien. A bit to easy combat system

It's and well planed game but would have been better if it hade more off an story in it and more things to do. and that the combat system would have been a bit harder then it is now. easy to understand the pattern i the combat system.
