Eindeutige Kaufempfehlung!

Fate of the World sollte kaufen wer

I've spent more time with this game than I like to admit, but it's been highly rewarding. It's a game that teaches you important lessons. To win, you must learn about the many pieces of the climate change puzzle and how they connect. The greatest takeaway is that there is no simple or single solution: the solution involves doing the right things, in the right amounts, in the right places, at the right time. It sometimes involves choosing the least bad, rather than the best, or solving even more urgent problems before you can get to climate change issues.

It has its drawbacks as others have pointed out, and I wish it would be updated with data from the past 10 years, but overall, I highly recommend this game. I'm still coming back to it, many years after playing it the first time.

Children and toxic people of the earth, This game is made in 2011 and it predicted most of the events that will change the way we perceive our dear home in 2020 and so forth. And Now, I am reviewing this game in 2021. Well, they didn't predict covid-19 pandemic in here. And also my breakup with some girl back in 2020 who thinks I am a lunatic, other than that, temperature increased and vegetation declined according to game in 2021. Well, Its kinda hot so yeah, okay, fine.

Dear readers,
What I will say further is off game. So rest can leave if they want.
-I lied, I never had a girlfriend.
-No one likes me, no one likes my reviews. Not even a microbe of the tiny air molecule reads my review.
-You will be disliked and insulted by many that comes randomly in your life , be it through internet or random shoulder bump on a mall or park, millions dislike you, they dislike what you do, they dislike your appearance, they dislike your presence, they dislike the fact that you have a profile on steam, they dislike because you are open-source human dustbin which can fill trash as insults, What matters is what you choose, Are you the one to chase behind those who rejected or insulted you or are you going to choose who still accepts you in their hearts for your mistakes. Are you going to chase those who blocked you for that one bad humor that you said or are you going to choose those who just likes you the way you are. STOP Caring about the world and stick with those 5-6 good people. Rest are just epitome of evil embolded into humans that god sprinkled in front of you to make you stronger. They hate the way you dance, they hate the way you play, they hate the games you play, they hate that paintings you draw, but who likes you is what matters . Let them hate.

Verdict:- Not climate change, not global precipitation, not Thanos, not that guy who developed blue whale game, but the wars and people themselves will finish each other throwing humanity into an abyss of hatred and violence.

Leaving comments box open to drop anyone their personal frustation or hate speeches in here. Cheers, Love.
A 60 kg of human flesh.

A great show of the absolute disaster we are walking into and how complex various peoples interests can conflict.
I do have a few problems with the game though.
Problems: Global Uranium supplies run out extraordinarily quickly despite barely any consumption despite reserves being able to sustain humanity for millenia, energy mixes for renewable energy deployment are extremely odd and favor biofuels so aggressively it causes chaos in the food supplies whenever deployed.

Let´s call the inconvenient truth about what this really is: a propaganda piece promulgating a science fiction narrative popular among many. If you can get past that, then it is still only a mildly interesting casual play game.

This game has the worst UX/UI I've even seen. Screens within screens, a lot of obfuscated information.
It took me about 7 tries to beat the *third* mission. Only 6.5% players have managed that, apparently.

But my god was it satisfying!
I was in full crisis-management mode. North America started a nuclear war? Don't care, just keep the temperature low. India starving? Eat some ROCKS! All turtles have died? F- em, THE PLANET MUST SURVIVE!

I am genuinely enjoying it. But only grab this game if you're really into the topic.
How I wish they made a sequel...

A glorified statistics simulator. The game models world population, economic activity, resource extraction, and of course climate change in a sometimes questionable, but not completely absurd, manner. The game consists of you poring over dozens of different figures for different regions of the world, trying to figure out how to stop the Indians from breeding or the Middle East from exploding into violence, choosing what policies to implement, hitting end turn, and repeating forty or so times.

In a scenario you are given an objective, typically to keep global warming below 3 C, which you have to balance against keeping the people happy enough to keep funding your organisation. As a result just starving the world isn't always an option (though it does work sometimes). Not everyone's cup of tea, but it is mine.

There is a fan-made patch which is more or less obligatory.

Pros:
-- Statistics
-- While the game is rather heavy on the green propaganda, it does give you a surprising amount of flexibility in how you achieve your goal. Your task is to keep global warming in check: whether or not you keep society intact is up to you.
-- It lets you bioplague India.

Cons:
-- There is a lack of variety in the scenarios. Almost all require you to keep global warming below 3 C subject to certain constraints. It'd be interesting to have, say, a scenario to raise/lower the population to a certain level, or to change the world economy in some meaningful way.
-- Some of the mechanics are rather opaque.
-- Bioplaguing India tends to lead to a game over.

Ainda assim, Fate of the World vale a pena, pois ele diverte por muito tempo e é suficientemente desafiante pra te fazer voltar e buscar outras soluções pros constantes problemas que irão aparecer.

Fate of the World is a turned based card game in which you, a global environmental officer are given some agency to implement policies in regions around the world.

Basic game play boils down to receiving a set amount of each world region that recognizes your authority. After this you assign agents to regions, which allow you to perform further actions in the region. There are several groups of policy actions that require you spend a slot and more money to access. These are the environmental, energy, science, welfare, and stability policies. Once you've spent as much money as you can, you press the end turn button to progress 5 years into the future. There is a complex system of working parts that runs, which will update each region's economy, ecology, energy and support for your agency. Finally, there is a global emissions total, and a temperature gauge that ticks up.

Information gathering in this game is a long and painful grind, and the mechanisms that run the world are simply not available for discovery. I spend so much time going through menus and digesting information that I don't get to actually go through turns, and often times information I want simply isn't available to the player. Those menus are difficult to interpret which only makes it harder to understand what's going on.

It seems to be a message about the complexity of climate change, but the approach sucks the time and life out of me each time I play it. Though I do think the mechanics are probably solid, I think there needs to be a serious UI redesign, and I doubt one will ever come.

It is exactly what it seems to be. You guide humanity to it's brighter future through the global warming, fossil fuel depletion and population rise. With all of what makes a good global strategy/simulation: underlying mathematical models, realistic region balance, tons of available data (hidden by a click-fest UI, but at least data is meaningful and easy to comprehend). Technologies, nukes and space missions supplied.

IMPORTANT: get the Unofficial Patch, only then the game becomes what it was supposed to be. From other reviews you can get the impression that the game is abandoned, biased and half-broken. Yes, it is. Unofficial patch really patches the game for better.
