Flat out 2 macht viel Spaß, besonders, da man nicht bestraft wird, wenn man einen Gegner rammt, sondern sogar belohnt wird. Die ersten Rennen sind auch schön einfach, so dass selbst Deppen wie ich dort erster werden können. Die meisten Gegenstände sind zerstörbar.

Ein fantastisches Rennspiel wo es nicht immer darum geht als erster durch das Ziel zu fahren.
Zerstöre die Wagen deiner Mitspieler und fahre als einziger über die Ziellinie. So macht gewinnen viel mehr Spaß. Nach 15h Hat man alle Rennen auf Gold abgeschlossen. Man kann danach aber ja immer noch über LANParty mit seinen Freunden spielen. Lasst sie ab und an gewinnen sonst hast du bald keine Mitspieler mehr außer NPCs. XD

Ein sehr altes Rennspiel. Ich spiele es nur im Karrieremodus gegen die Bots, da... sind wir mal ehrlich... das Spiel ist viel zu alt um noch Mitspieler zu finden. XD
Aber es macht wirklich Spass. In dem Spiel muss man nicht nur darauf achten schneller zu sein als alle anderen, man muss auch bedenken, dass die Gegner dich auch gern mal rammen wollen. Es ist nämlich auch ein Derby.
Die Strecken sind voll von Hindernissen wie zum Beispiel parkende Autos oder Reifen, Blockaden, Rampen ect. Also musst du auch gucken dass dich der Schrott nicht verlangsamt. Vielleicht kann man auch hier und dort ein wenig Schrott für seine Zwecke nutzen indem man diesen in einem gewissen Winkel rammt.
Natürlich geht damit auch ein wenig Frust einher, wenn man plötzlich aus der Bahn geworfen wird wegen einer Laterne oder ähnlichem, doch ich finde dass der Frust wirklich nur selten gegeben ist und daher nicht zur Sache tut.
Alles in allem ist es ein solides Rennspiel... wie sagt man so schön? Old but gold.

Immer noch seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehr gut, Strecken können in der zweiten Hälfte des Games anfangen etwas monoton zu werden, aber viel Abwechlung und ein sehr solides damage model für 2006 - ohne Probleme oder Immersionsverlust absolut angenehm spielbar in 2020, great game!

Wow, ich hätte nicht gedacht das es mehr Spaß machen kann Autos in FlatOut 2 zu zerstören als in GTA.

Das Spiel macht sehr viel Spaß, die Grafik ist ausreichend gut, Die Level sind sehr gut gelungen, eine Mischung aus Spannung
und können.

Ich habe das Spiel für einen Euro bekommen und ich empfehle es auch für 10 Euro.

Super Game, viel Spaß euch.

Das Spiel existiert seit fast 14 Jahren und ist immernoch so hammer wie am ersten Tag. Online Modus sollte hoffentlich noch funktionieren. Und die Soundtracks sind immernoch die Besten

I own and have played every Flat out game including Wreckfest, Flat out 2 is honestly the only good one out of the series, Wreckfest I would put 2nd and the rest can burn in a fire.

Played this as a child when blockbuster was still around.

This game is like Shift 2 in the sense that I came back to it now, as a 22 year old and the game is just as good, if not far more enjoyable than I remember. They really don't make em' like they used to.

If you're a fan of this, get Shift 2 Unleashed & Street Legal Racing Redline.

Awesome games from my childhood and this is NOT nostalgia talking. i revisited all of the above mentioned games and they are in MY opinion, the best racing games out there currently.

This game aged like a fine wine, such a great experience even in 2021.
Thank you Bugbear for this masterpiece and thank you for this great soundtrack, i knew Megadeth from this game back in 2007 and its my favorite band since then, this game brings back so many good memories...
Anyway RECOMMENDED 10/10.

Played this game back in 2010 on my friends PC and loved it. Played it recently and boy it gave me so much nostalgia. It has dated graphics and the handling model is not so accurate by today standarts but other than that it is still a fun game! Recommend it to anyone especially on a sale ;)
PS: before you'll hit somthing you gonna be hit by nostalgia.

No nonsense racing! Quickly fire up a race / tournament and start racing with your friends. You can limit the racers to just the number of players in your group, or leave it open to let stranger come in. Nitro is a blast, and it's a good equalizer in the game. Worth the price of admission!

This is the most gloriously 2000s game ever made. Stupidly fun arcade racing complete with destruction derbies, stunt challenges, ragdoll and destructo-physics, all soundtracked by the likes of Rise Against, Yellowcard, and Rob Zombie.

I can FEEL the tribal tattoos growing on my body and I love it.

While the single player leaves much to be desired, FlatOut 2 really shines as a multiplayer racer where you can just relax, drive fast, crash into stuff, and not take things too seriously. FlatOut 2 improves upon the first game by letting you do the derby mode and the mini-games online, while also improving upon the track variety for the race mode; and throwing school busses, dump trucks, and batmobiles in to the mix.

The multiplayer is still incredibly active online and is played pretty much 24/7 over OpenSpy. There's only one very simple patch you need to apply to get it going - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=753690007

Nice racing game, I just completed it with 100% progress.
It can be extremely frustrating since the AI is incredibly unfair thanks to ridiculous rubberbanding, and the car physics mixed with some track designs can really mess you up for no good reason. The game wants you to perform jumps and ram objects and opponents, but you never know when those things may randomly launch you out and make you spin.
However, it's still fun and very satisfying when it works. Keeping the cars under your control feels good and collisions feel powerful. The graphics are still pleasant to look at, even after 15 years. The soundtrack is fairly short, but good. There's a decent amount of content, including races, demolition derbies, and mini-games where you launch your driver out through the windshield.
Buy it if you like action racing games.

The only things you need to know about Flatout 2:

It runs awesome even on the most potato, of potato computers.
It has an amazing punk and alt-rock soundtrack.
And it's timelessly fun.

AWESOME GAME!!! Honestly one of the best crash physics games other than Beam.ng obviously. very good music, wide variety of cars to unlock, awesome campaign and a very memorable game overall.

Great improvement over the already awesome first installment. Chaos racing, wrecks and stunts. The graphics don't look too dated which is a nice plus.

If wrecking cars while pretending to be racing sounds fun, this is the game for you.

Recommended. It goes on sale pretty often, so don't buy it on full price.

This game was my most favorite racing game when I was a kid. Which didn´t change much at all. Even after 15 years, the game still manages to bring challenge to the table. In some aspects this game aged really well, like in graphics or controls, but there are certain aspects where it aged like a fine... milk.

For example, the difficulty tweaks in this game will become obvious when you play this game for about 2 hours a day. NPC drivers will do everything in their might to stop you once you upgrade your car. Once I´ve got accustomed to the driving, and finally found out how to get around them, they started trying to hit me. I always manage to hit the brake just in time for them to completely miss me, but these behavioral patterns become obvious once you encounter them enough times. As for the driving, it´s really good, but sometimes you spin out for no apparent reason, you flip out by hitting a fucking curb, or you hit some rubble that spins you out. For fuck´s sake, there is even one spot in which you will get into a slide and crash into a tree or the building 95% of the time when you´re going above 60-80 MPH. And there are spots like these in a few maps in this game, and it´s apparent that the developers wanted you to spin the fuck out. It is a giant dick move, as these things happen usually when you´re in the first spot. But I guess I might just be a bad driver.

There are several dumb things about this game. Something I´ve noticed from the long time with various driving games and games that contain driving is the NPC boosting. For those who don´t know what I´m talking about, it´s a script that game activates once you get somewhat far ahead. NPC cars will get sudden huge speedboost, and overtake you in matter of a few seconds, sometimes even bumping you and forcing you to crash in the process. Most of the races with your starter car will thus be about pure luck that the guy ahead of you crashed. Once you get enough money, you can buy the top of the class car, and destroy the rest of the races with ease.

Which takes me to the car upgrade cycle. You don´t even need most of the cars. Only cars you need are one of the available class starter cars, and then just save up money by doing everything on Gold (with enough skill, you won´t need to buy another car in the first class). And then when you complete the class, you have some money left for some basic upgrades on your car. Then you do that same thing again, upgrade the car to it´s best over time, buy a top of the class car, buy a car from the last category (there are only 3 categories), upgrade it to it´s best, and save up for the best car, which you slowly upgrade. This cycle makes all of the other cars pointless, as you´re only going to ever use 5 cars out of the large car pool you can buy.

As for the races, they are all good. Maps get a little repetitive over time, but you get used to them pretty quickly anyway. Derby and (sports inspired) stunts are really fun as well, but extremely underutilized, as that is the point at which FlatOut 2 is at it´s best.

Overall, the AI and catchup stuff is really terrible and somewhat takes the enjoyment out of this game. But it´s still a great game that you can have a ton of fun in, wether it be with your friends, or by yourself. And the soundtrack is a nice cherry on top. 8/10, I recommend this game.

Goddamn. Where have the years gone? I used the grind the hell out of this game so many years ago. I loved every second of it and I am so glad to be able to play it again. This was the game that got me into video games so obviously I would recommend it.

Its a good old fashioned racing game with really good music and graphics even for today's standards
Good customisation and it doesnt have any pay to win dlcs because it came out when gaming was at its peak and DLCs where unheard of during this time good vibes good times great racing.
Want a trip to where everything was better look no furthure get this game
It is Unfortunate that when this was released Gamespy was the hoster so no online play , but back in the day it was very fun.
apart from the Lack of multiplayer a good all rounded solid games developers should take note of this as this is a Prime Example of how games should be and was we had it right back in the old days.
And the 2000s alternarock is worth every penny , it shaped my childhood music as well Alternative and rock and Alternative and not the lame adele and lame modern bands that sounds like wailing.

For a great rip that doesn't get old and something that doesn't get all technical, just pure jump in and grind through an arcade type race this is one to get! I never tire of Flatout 2 cause it's one of those somewhat challenging yet FUN rips. If you like to just forget the day, fire up a quick game and race...it's simple pick this!

Man i dont really enjoyed the kind of this game btw.I prefer the more realistic racing games like simulation or arcade simulation, than playing arcade racing games.

But my first time playing this game more like.....daamn this game is different than the other arcade racing games. There are 3 different car class, and the most interesting part is when you can play some mode that you can control your driver like crash test dummy lol.

And the music quite relaxing too. Feel nostalgic to the 20s rock, the era where rock music is always used as a soundtrack in almost all car racing games.

In my humble opinion STILL THE GREATEST RACING-GAME OF ALL TIME!!!

Don't get fooled by my low playtime on steam, as I have played the hell out of this game back in 2006, before it was even offered on steam... That was the time when the Online-Multiplayer still worked!! By the way, this is the only downside of this game nowadays, cause otherwise it still looks & runs like a charme on modern hardware...

Another BIG PRO: Unlike many other games that are 14 years old (looking at you, Rockstar, with your GTA Series!), this pearl still has it's original Soundtrack, that just kicks A$$ and is AMAZING!!! However they licensend those original Songs, Rockstar could learn a lot from that...

If you don't know Flatout 2 yet, stop reading this and BUY IT!!!

To this day, I didn't manage to find a captivating racing game as this one. The destruction, the cars, the modes, everything is screaming perfection. This game played a huge part in my childhood.

The game itself is a masterpiece. The Steam version or the PC version IS NOT.

No controller support, no widescreen HUD except putting mods and no multiplayer except using external non-official utilities. In addition, limited graphic options even though I was not expecting much from a 2006 but you feel that the developpers just released a rushed PC version and forgot about it. There a games that got updates years like literally 7-10 years after initial release to adapt it to modern gaming experience, this game clearly doesn't belong in that list.

I'm totally recommending this game BUT NOT the pc version, get the PS2 version instead.

First played all the way back in 2007, last played in 2020. Still as fun as it was back in the day... Honestly, this game plays perfectly well even 14 years after it's release. Truly a timeless gem.
Online community is still pretty much alive, which is a nice change of pace after the career mode.

I genuinely have a hard time recommending anything against this game. Everything you can do in this game is very satsfying and enjoyable. As someone who is mainly interested in fps titles this game makes me take an exception and for good reason. The driving is something you can not get tired of. The destruction, the speed, wrecking and just the sounds and visuals make this game an amazing experience, even long after a decade since it came out.

But it is old, so it won't look good, right? Wrong. This game looks fantastic and doesn't even require a good pc to run it. The post-processing on the cars and the tracks are really detailed and the reflections. Oh boy. The reflections.

The game mainly has 3 gamemodes: normal races, destruction derbies and stunt events. The races require you to, you know, go fast and win, but you can earn lots of money by wrecking your oppositon and taking out key enemies can result in victory.

The derbies are the weakest part in my opinion. They can be a bit tedious and wrecking in normal races is so much more satisfying.
In stunts you are required to launch your driver into a set of sports games to score points. They are fun, but as well as derbies, they aren't the best part.
There are two bonus gamemodes that you can find if you are willing to be creative.
One of them is just using the Flatmobile cheat car on Canals 1 and go for jumps and crash-outs. I have spent way too much time doing that,
Second is going to the test track with music turned off, pressing gas and enjoying going in an oval for hours. This is where the sound design comes into play.

The cherry on top of all this is the soundtrack. You. Can. Not. Get. Enough.
I have been listening to the OST for so long, for so much time, yet, I still haven't gotten bored of it and it still rocks.

There are a select few problems i have with this game.
One is, the multiplayer doesn't work without using 3rd party mods, servers and patches. I don't mind that though.
Second, the derby class, at the beginiing of the game, starts up so slowly after finishing race class that it sometimes feels like torture. Just get to stage 2.

In conclusion, buy it. You will not regret it.

Overall: Flatout 2 is an excellent arcade racer that offers lots of variety in maps, cars, gamemodes and upgrades, especially for a 2006 game. It's a bit too easy but overall enjoyable.

Great improvement over the original and one of the best destruction derby racers out there. Expands on everything that made the first game great while improving the physics and graphics.

The best race straight from childhood. Nowhere else is there such a chic destructible destructiveness of everything and everything. The game is ideal for those who want to drive, madness and destruction.

You can find it for 2-3 €... and for this price there's a lot of fun! Perfect for venting the stress of a heavy day passed in queue on the streets.

Great like driving game. Updated from the (excellent) Flatout with new graphics, new tracks, new cars, new minigames - and an even madder AI!

Extremely addictive, pick-and-and-play racing game. Highly recommended.

Great game.
Spent my childhood playing this game and came back to have a go.
Gameplay:
- Wrech as many cars as possible (you get money for wreching other racers)
- You get netro for slamming your car into other cars and props in the map
- Intense and enjoyable rock music
- Good looking tracks with many secret paths.

Would recommend, till this day it looks great and your computer will probably be able to run it on max out graphics

If it's cheap, buy it.

This is a classic. A true competitor to burnout.

Game is simple, 3 categories, same vehicle models in all three, with different tuning/equipment/preparation. Vehicles are upgradeable and have a good variety, Tracks are quite well made, AI can be challenging and that will force you to upgrade your bucket of bolts. You can drive the way you want clean or smashing the competition agaisnt road features, just get to the finish line first (unless you are on a derby or a stunt run).

Soundtrack makes the race feel more thrilling and fits well the game theming:Zebrahead, Papa Roach, Nickelback... to mention some.

9/10 - A true classic game, that will scratch your arcade racing itch If you been around in the PS2 and Xbox era.

I wasn't playing that much Flatout way back, as I had a horrible PC at a time, however, I really like and still think it gives flashback. Great songs. Recommended.
