Game of Thrones basiert auf den weltweit erfolgreichen Romanvorlagen von George R.R. Martin. Das Spiel, storytechnisch unter der Aufsicht Martins verfasst, lässt Anhänger der Romane und RPG-Fans ein außergewöhnliches Abenteuer in einem der faszinierendsten Universen der Mittelalter-Fantasy-Literatur erleben.

In GoT lenkt der Spieler die Geschicke von Mors, einem eingeschworenen Bruder der Nachtwache, und Alester, einem roten Priester, der nach langer Verbannung in die sieben Königreiche zurückkehrt. Ähnlich der Romanvorlage setzt die Handlung kurze Zeit nach dem Ableben von Lord Arryn ein, der zuvor "Die Hand des Königs" war. In der ca. 30-stündigen Kampagne erkundet der Spieler viele aus dem Buch und der Fernsehserie bekannte Orte, darunter die Mauer und King's Landing. Dabei werden ihm auch bekannte Figuren wie Cersei Lannister oder Lord Commander Jeor Mormont begegnen. Das auf den Namen 'Active Slowdown Tactical Combat Engine' getaufte Kampfsystem gibt dem Spieler in Gefechten die Möglichkeit, das Kampfgeschehen zu verlangsamen und so die nächsten Schritte in Ruhe vorzubereiten. Neben Kämpfen werden Sprachgeschick und Diplomatie einen hohen Stellenwert einnehmen.

Schwierig einzustufen, da das Spiel im Kern höchstens mittelmäßig ist, Grafik und Technik waren schon 2012 angestaubt und die Steuerung ist mit ein wenig Anpassung zwar steuerbar, doch noch lange nicht gut. Wieso dann GOT trotzdem spielen? Ganz einfach in der recht langen Kampagne, spielen wir das Spiel vor allem nur dank der Story, denn diese ist hervorragend erzählt und aufgebaut, alleine das ist Grund genug das Spiel zu spielen, doch wie gesagt, man muss sich auf den Kern außen herum einlassen. Als Fan von GOT habe ich die Schwächen etwas ausgeblendet und bin der absolut tollen Story gefolgt, den diese ist absolut klasse. So kann man denke ich auch die halbwegs hohe Wertung verantworten.
Heutzutage, wenn ich das Spiel nochmal spielen würde, würde ich wohl ein paar Punkte abwerten altersbedingt, aber da ich das Review damals geschrieben habe, lasse ich die Wertung so stehen.

Game of Thrones: The Game

Natürlich richtet sich das Spiel sehr an Fans von GoT. Ich selber folge der Serie und habe auch die Bücher in Form von Hörbüchern gehört. Also würde ich mich schon als überdurchschnittlichen Fan bezeichnen.

Gameplay
Das Spiel ist in 15 Kapitel unterteilt, in denen wir jeweils einen unseren beiden Hauptcharaktere durch ihre Geschichte begleiten. Zunächst können wir für jeden unserer Helden eine von 3 Klassen auswählen und Skillpunkte verteilen. Und dann..ja, was eigentlich? Das Spiel besteht zu gut 60 % aus Dialogen, was ich persönlich sehr gut finde. Denn zum Einen zeichnet sich Game of Thrones generell durch die Intrigen und Gespräche aus und zum anderen ist der Rest des Spiels eher klobig zusammengebastelt. Im Kampf haut unser Charakter automatisch drauf und über ein Fähigkeitsmenü können wir einzelne Skills verwenden, von denen es eine eher überschaubare Menge gibt. Bloß blöd, dass man sich am Anfang spezialisiert, seine Kampffertigkeiten nicht über 100 Punkte hinaus steigern kann, was man schon in der Mitte des Spiels erreicht. Befinden sich mehrere Charaktere in unserer Gruppe, können wir noch zusätzlich zwischen diesen wechseln und so manchmal sogar vernünftige Kombinationen ausführen. Zudem sind die Kämpfe manchmal schon arg verschieden schwer und manchmal ziemliche Glückssache. Und dann speichert das Spiel auch sehr blöd automatisch, sodass man bei einem Game Over einfach von einer blöden Stelle neustartet. Das raubt einem einfach die Motivation in manchen Situationen. Auch das Inventarsystem ist etwas umständlich von der Führung, gerade bei Händlern und Verkäufen. Auch gibt es keinen Rüstungswert, eine bessere Rüstung erhöht einfach direkt die Lebenspunkte. Es fehlen einfach Möglichkeiten, schnell die Ausrüstung zu wechseln und sowohl Kampf- als Inventarsystem erinnert mich stark an World of Warcraft bzw. ein typisches MMORPG. Bloß im Singleplayer und bei weitem nicht so gut umgesetzt. Auch sind die Figuren total statisch, bewegen sich nicht und reagieren nicht einmal auf einen Kampf. Da bringe ich nen Bruder der Nachtwache in der schwarzen Festung um und der Typ daneben kocht weiterhin seine Gemüsesuppe!
Eine ganz nette Idee die Spielzeit zu verlängern war, in die Rolle des Hundes zu schlüpfen und Gerüchen folgen zu können. Allerdings sind auch diese statisch und man weiß manchmal nicht, wo vorne und hinten ist. Dafür hat mir die Idee der Charakterzüge gefallen: Im Verlauf der Geschichte erwirbt man passive Fähigkeiten, welche auf den storybedingten Entscheidungen basieren und diese können sowohl positiv als auch negativ ausfallen. Allerdings wird hier wieder zu sparsam mit umgegangen.
Die Kapitel sind unterschiedlich lang. Für Manche habe ich 50 Minuten gebraucht und für andere 4 Stunden, was wohl den Nebenquests geschuldet ist, welche sehr unterschiedlich beendet werden können. Was mich auch immer genervt hat, waren die Türen. Diese schwingen auf, dennoch bleibt dort eine unsichtbare Wand, bis die Tür ganz offen ist. Solche unsichtbaren Wänden kamen auch an anderen Stellen vor und haben die Klobigkeit des Spiels noch verstärkt.

Story
Die Geschichte des Spiels handelt kurz vor Beginn der Serie, zu dem Zeitpunkt, an dem Jon Arryn gerade gestorben ist. Wie schon bereits erwähnt, spielen wir zwei Charaktere: Mors Westford und Alester Sawyeck. Mors ist ein Bruder der Nachtwache und ehemaliger Ritter. Seinem Ehrgefühl folgend, erhält er einen letzten Brief von Jon Arryn, in welchem dieser ihn bittet, eine junge Frau ausfindig zu machen und zu beschützen. Der andere Hauptcharakter ist Alester Sawyeck, der Sohn eines Lords und gleichzeitig Priester des Feuergottes Rh`llor. Nach 15 Jahren kehrt er aufgrund des Todes seines Vaters in seine Heimat Riverspring zurück und erfährt, dass sein Halbbruder Valarr plant, die legitime Erbfolge zu umgehen und selber Lord von Riverspring zu werden. Um diesen zu besiegen, muss Alester nun wie auch Valarr vor Cersei Lennister das Knie beugen und die Gunst der Königin gewinnen.

Wie schon anfangs erwähnt, machen die Gespräche einen großen Teil des Spieles aus und wie man vermuten kann, verflechten sich die Schicksale von Alester und Mors im späteren Spielverlauf und das Spiel ermöglicht zwei Enden. Jeder der beide Charaktere haben ihre Eigenheiten und Umgangsweisen. Während Mors eher der direkte Typ ist, ist Alester geschickt mit Worten und wird in King`s Landing (Ich kann das einfach nicht ins Deutsche übersetzen) in die Welt der politischen Intrigen hereingezogen. Die ganze Geschichte ist sehr gut im Versum von GoT angesiedelt. So treffen wir auf bekannte Charaktere wie Cersei, Varys, Qhorin Halbhand oder den alten Bären. Gleichzeitig erleben wir aber unsere ganz eigene Geschichte, die auch ein wenig mit der Hauptgeschichte des Buches verflechtet ist. Was mir neben der guten Geschichte auch gefallen hat, waren die Entscheidungen, die man treffen konnte. Während manche keine Unterschiede im Gespräch bewirken, quasi falsche freie Entscheidungen sind, gibt es oft auch wichtige Dinge zu besprechen. Man wählt oft zwischen Gnade und Tod, es werden aber auch andere Entscheidungen getroffen. Oft weiß man auch nicht, was jetzt klüger wäre und versucht eben, sein Gegenüber so gut es geht zu manipulieren. Auch wenn die Geschichte eher langsam beginnt und manchmal nicht 100% logisch ist, nimmt sie später sehr stark an Geschwindigkeit zu und steckt voller Überraschungen. Am Ende wird das Spiel sogar richtig episch!

Grafik/Sound
Ich habe ja bei einem Spiel zu einer Serie bzw. zu einem Buch keine großen Erwartungen. Ok, ich habe generell wenig Ansprüche, was die Grafik angeht, ich gebe es ja zu! Aber das Spiel hat es geschafft, mich trotzdem zu enttäuschen. Während die Gesichter noch vernünftig aussehen, wirkt der Rest des Spiels eher aus dem Jahre 2006. Hintergrundtexturen sind stark verwachen und kaum detailliert. Insbesondere manche Animation von Feuer könnten eher von 2002 stammen, denn so pixelige Feuer kenne ich fast nur von alten Spielen wie Wolfenstein 3D…Sehr geil fand ich auch, dass ein Schild auf dem Rücken immer 20 cm hinter dem Körper hängt. Generell ist die Grafik also schlecht, variiert aber zusätzlich noch sehr stark. Auch sehr auffallend waren die fehlenden Texturen. Viele Gegenstände besitzen im Inventar dieselben Bilder und auch viele Animationen wirken entweder fehl am Platz oder existieren einfach nicht. So werden gefundene Gegenstände gerne beschrieben, aber nie gezeigt. Sehr geil war es auch, wenn die Charaktere in einer Cutscene einfach mal aus dem Nichts aufgeploppt sind. Und tatsächlich, das kam erstaunlich häufig vor.
Auch die Geräuschkulisse lässt zu wünschen übrig. So ist das Spiel echt geräuscharm, vom obligatorischen Kampfsounds mal abgesehen. Die Musik ist auch nicht wirklich etwas Besonderes, abgesehen von der GoT Titelmelodie im Hauptmenü und der Musik im Thronsaal. Die Sprecher sind wiederum sehr professionell und vertonen die Gespräche sehr gut, allerdings nur auf Englisch. Einmal hat mich dabei der Untertitel sogar leicht gespoilert.

Fazit
„Game of Thrones“ ist ein mittelmäßiges bis schlechtes Spiel und ich würde es daher eigentlich nicht empfehlen. Wenn da nicht die gute Geschichte wäre, die sich sehr gut in das Gesamtbild von GoT eingliedert. Ich habe beim Spielen das Gefühl gehabt, dass die Story bereits vorher geschrieben war und das Spiel einfach sehr spontan erscheinen musste und sich deshalb so klobig, unfertig und statisch anfühlt. Hätte man mehr Zeit für die Entwicklung gegeben, hätte man das Spiel auf jeden Fall an vielen Stellen noch verbessern können. Auch gibt es eine größere Menge an Bugs und das Spiel spielt sich eher wie eine Alphaversion. Für wirkliche Fans der Bücher und der Serie kann ich das Spiel im Angebot empfehlen, da es wunderbar in die eigentliche Geschichte verflochten ist. Wer auf der Suche nach einem guten RPG ist, sollte aber stattdessen weitersuchen.

Das Erste mal, dass ich ein Spiel, das den Namen gar nicht verdient hat, zocke, weil die Story absolut konträr zur Mechanik ist. Nämlich allererste Sahne. Für Freunde von gut geschriebenen und wendungsreichen Stories definitiv eine Empfehlung. Wem die Mechanik eines Spiels wichtig ist, wird allerdings enttäuscht sein und sollte besser die Finger davon lassen. Als Fan der Bücher und Serie empfehle ich vor allem Game Of Thrones-Begeisterten dieses Spiel.

Ein sehr schönes Spiel für alle Liebhaber der Game of Thrones TV-Serie bzw. der Bücher. Das Rollenspiel ist extrem storylastig. Man läuft zumeist ein wenig herum, vermöbelt in taktischen Kämpfen mit Zeitverlangsamungsfunktion die Gegner, erfüllt ein paar typische Rollenspielaufgaben und dürft sogar mit dem Hund Fährten aufspüren und mehr. Wer einfach nur die Story erleben und den Aufgaben nachgehen möchte, der kann eigentlich ziemlich locker durch die Kämpfe kommen, oder aber auf hohem Schwierigkeitsgrad eine ordentliche Herausforderung für den taktischen Part herbeiführen. Die Story bietet wirklich sehr viel fürs Geld, man bekommt quasi ein ganzes Buch vor dem Beginn der 1. Staffel erzählt. Das passt alles wirklich sehr gut zur TV-Verfilmung und gibt einige Einlicke in die Geschehnisse z.B. rund um den Tod der rechten Hand des Königs und mehr. Die Story wird in vielen Zwischensequenzen erzählt und in wirklich sehr vielen Dialogen müssen wir wie in Mass Effect üblich aus mehreren Antworten und Handlungsmöglichkeiten auswählen, was auf den Fortschritt in der Geschichte durchaus seinen Einfluss hat. Da das Spiel wie gesagt sehr storylastig ist, hat man das Gefühl, als wenn man die Hälfte der Zeit in diesem großen interaktiven TV-Serienprolog gesogen sei. Wer keine gute Story braucht und einfach nur ein geiles Rollenspiel mit viel Actiongekloppe haben möchte, der ist hier völlig falsch. Wer aber eine gut erzählte Geschichte miterleben möchte und mit einer durchschnittlichen Konsolenportierung, aber ordentlicher Steuerung und zumindest ganz netter Grafik mit bekannten Personen aus der TV-Serie und guten Synchronstimmen leben kann, der ist hier genau richtig. Meiner Meinung nach ein Pflichtspiel im Steam-Deal.

In diesem Spiel spielen wir Mors Westford einen Bruder der Nachtwache und Alester Sarwyck ein Priester R'hllors.
Beide Charaktere sind keine Jungspunte mehr und haben eine bewegte Vergangenheit die sich uns während des Spiels auch offenbart.
Beide wechseln sich in der Handlung ab. Man spielt eine Etappe mit Mors dann mit Alester usw. [spoiler]Zumindest solange bis sich beide Handlungsstränge kreuzen[/spoiler]

Das Kampfsystem bietet aufgrund der Tatsache seine Charaktere entsprechend zu skillen einiges an Variation.
Meiner Meinung liegt die Stärke des Spiels aber eher in der Erzählweise und Dialogen.

George R. R. Martin stand dem Spiel beratend zur Seite womit sichergestellt wurde daß keine Wiedersprüche zu seiner Welt existieren.

hm, ich bin etwas zwiegespalten. Einerseits ist das Kampfsystem nicht ganz so schlimm wie ich gedacht habe, vergleichbar am ehesten mit Dragon Age, Daher macht es schon Spaß.

Was mir negativ auffällt es werden sehr viele Charackter Modelle doppelt genommen, und genauso die deutschen Synchronstimmen. Das schlimmste ist jedoch das man eigentlich kaum selber spielt.

Es wird ohne Spaß, fast die ganze Zeit nur gelabert, dann spielt man mal für 2min hat mal nen kleinen Kampf und dann gehts wieder 10minuten im Dialog weiter, Es gibt ja Leute die mögen sowas gerne, darauf kann ich aber gerne verzichten.

Da ich ein großer Fan der Bücher und der Serie bin hab ich echt mehr erwartet...

Dieses Spiel hat eine sehr gute Story. Skills bauen gut aufeinander auf. Kampfsystem könnte aber komplexer sein. Gute Quests mit Enscheidungsfreiheit. Enscheidungen haben auch Konsequenzen. Grafik Bugs in höherer Auflösung. Auf niedriger Auflösung hatte ich keine weitere Bugs und die Grafik war für mich auch ausreichend. Allerdings nur eine geringe Gegnerauswahl, fast nur menschliche NPC-Gegner. Klare Empfehlung für Spieler die auf eine gute Story wert legen. Mit dem Kampfsystem sollte man sich richtig beschäftigen, dann funktioniert dies auch gut. Ich hatte keine Probleme mit der Übersicht im Kampf. Da diese pausierbar sind, kann die Kameraperspektive auch ohne Probleme im Kampfgeschehen angepasst werden.

Terrible controls, impossible to effectively play on a standard PC if you are any sort of casual gamer. You have to hold still to be able to see anything and attack it, which gets you killed in most battles. Also, the cutscenes are about 80% of the game, which is fine if you want to watch a short movie but not very effective for a video game. Not at all recommended.

If you like Got and CRPGs then you will most likely love this game. It's essentially a GoT RPG with a unique real-time-with-pause combat system.

I didn't expect much from this game but ended up sinking almost 40 hours into it to beat the story along with all the sidequests. This game has everything you'd expect from Game of Thrones - political intrigue, tense battles, memorable characters, a gripping story, the list goes on.

From an RPG standpoint the game has plenty of unique armor and weapons with 2 playable characters and 6+ classes with their own skill trees along with specialization of a few of those classes that unlock additional skill trees. There are dialogue options that effect gameplay and the story as well as 4 different endings that are all worth checking out plus a story DLC pack that expands on one of the main characters a bit.

The game starts telling two different about Sir Mors and Sir Alister, two former knights that served under the banner of House Lannister during the Robert’s Rebellion. At some point, their stories intertwine.

It’s an RPG game, which means the player must administrate the distribution of points in stats (STR, AGI, INT, etc.), abilities, and skills. Albeit being an RPG game, is heavy combat oriented, which means all abilities and skills are focused only on combat.

The combat happens in real time, with a slow time feature to choose abilities and decide tactics. It’s not as hard as Dragon Age Origins combat, but in the “Lord” difficulty it will demand the use of potions and good combos to win.

Story wise, it’s Game of Thrones, which means you should expect a lot of backstabbing, violence, and plot twists. It’s a pretty good story and the game worth’s playing by itself.

Some quests can be completed in different ways and, sometimes, depending on the player approach, a trait (perk) is earned (just like in Fallout games), but the multiple solutions of quests don’t branch out the story – it’s a very linear RPG. It does have multiple endings though. And since the player can complete quests in different ways, it’s possible he/she doesn’t learn about every aspect of the plot in one single gameplay. It’s fair to say the game has a good replayability if you liked the story plot in the first playthrough.

The graphics are very nice for a 2013 game. Not a surprise at all since it uses the Unreal Engine.

Some voice actors are bad but not the main characters, and, as a nice touch, there are two characters in this game that are voiced by the same actors in the show.

The interface is not the best either, especially around stats, and quest tracking. It takes some time to get used to it and is easy to miss some quests because of it too.

Despite its age (and plenty of time for fixes), the game still has some minor bugs. The biggest issue is a camera stuttering glitch, which is experienced by a lot of players, and the fixes on the internet doesn’t solve the issue for everyone. Luckily, the player may experience this issue in the first 30min of game, so, it shouldn’t be a reason not to buy it, because the game will still be eligible for refunding. I personally experienced the issue and found the game playable very enjoyable.

I got more the 100 hours of fun out of this game and found the story so good that, in eight years that I own this game, I had multiple playthroughs, managing to beat the 100 hours gameplay mark.

Gameplay feels a bit rough at the start, but it's so worth the investment to keep going. Not always fully canon to the books/show but you can tell the developers really respected the source material. Think of it as an alternate universe of Westeros and you'll love it as much as I did.

It is actually quite good. Not sure if the story is anywhere near canon, but it's entertaining enough and could theoretically happen (nothing lore-breaking for sure). So... Yeah, I can recommend this to any show/book fan out there as a way to get more of GoT.

Good old fashioned RPG with a great story and good combat. Unfortunately I died a hero's death (at the keyboard) at level 13, when the focus got entirely on combat and I wasn't prepared. Without a filled vial and bottles to do area damage the fights become too difficult to enjoy, and there's no way to obtain them now. i will have to replay the game later. But, apart from that:
The game has 2 protagonists that each get a chapter to play, and so you can use 2 different play styles at the same time. Eventually the 2 stories join and you will have to make some difficult choices that have huge impact on the last part of the game. If you make good choices you can also avoid some nasty battles. Another great feature of the game is the dog, you can use it to eliminate loners and guards before they can raise the alarm. It's also very useful later in the game to take enemies down so you can finish the more easily.
Very recommended if you want a good story with lots of twists and surprises.

Very mediocre combat. Even worse graphics. Really easy to see that the devs didn't have the proper budget to make an RPG, really it is hilarious how similar looking the NPCs are.

However, I would say this game is very interesting still. It came out when Game of Thrones wasn't yet the greatest show on earth, so they were able to nab many of the actos from the shows and make them play their respective characters(I will always appreciate Cersei and Varys)

Also it had GRRM give a hand in the making of the game, and you can tell since you feel that this game is grounded in the series' world. The characters' dialogues sometimes feel like they are taken right out of the show/ books. And you will come to appreciate the two main protagonists. Although there are a few many moments that aren't well written, some ridiculous(a woman giving birth while our heroes are escaping was questionable as a plot decision...)

So really, I only recommend this for Game of Thrones fans who don't mind a mediocre battle system and low production values.

Great game, combat can be a bit clunky but is very fun once you get the hang of it. The story in this game once it gets going is some top notch Game Of Thrones storytelling.

I highly recommend it to any GoT fan or anyone who enjoys a great story

Look this game is not terrible. Its also not good. If you like GOT and want more, all you will need is patience to get thought this mess. Its buggy, the graphics are terrible, the combat is kinda like a poor mans KOTOR. Other than that, I did find it engaging and added some more GOT lore. It takes some getting used to but its worth a play.

I only recommend Game of Thrones fans looking for a good story to pick this game up. The combat was okay and the rest of the game mechanics were average, but the story is what drove me to finish the game.

If you like the series you will like the game.
The quality alright, story okay and gameplay fairly easy. If you like game of thrones / you can get it for a reduced price I would recommend it.

There are certainly issues with the game that show it was rushed. The controls are a bit clunky, the graphics are a tad outdated, and the combat is boring and repetitive. But the story IS very good, the game captures the atmosphere of the books and the tv show, and the characters introduced in the game are memorable. I'd say this game is worth a play if you are a fan of the books and/or the TV show, but not if you aren't...

Decent story heavy RPG. Even though I am not a fan of the setting and disliked TV series, I enjoyed the game and its characters, plots and dialogues as well as grim atmosphere. Combat is mediocre though. Overall, I think it's a solid game if you are into RPGs focusing on story rather than gameplay.

Actually not a bad little RPG.
It's got a foul mouth and the immaturity of HBO's game of thrones.
The voice work is quite poor aside from a few gems in the cast who are chewing every bit of scenery.
The look of the game is, well you can see from the screenshots that it's really outdated.

But the story and gameplay and the way its put together all work surprisingly well with two intermeshed storylines in the the two leads that go through highs and lows in a satisfying manner. While you can see where the plots going early on it's still well executed and delivered and its endings are certainly more impactful than some coloured filter.
And my final point is it's cheap.

This game is sooooooooo good. Just know that it gets off to a really slow start. (I started and stopped playing it three different times over the past five or six years before it finally sunk in.) Just keep your head down and power through the first four or five chapters. Eventually it crosses a hump and starts to get exponentially better, right up to the very end. Seriously.

The story alone makes it worth playing. Sometimes it's more Game-of-Thrones in tone than Game of Thrones itself. It's so refreshing to see this kind of writing in a video game. If it were a movie, I would pay to see to see it in the theater. There are actual plot points, twists that made my jaw drop. The characters are complicated. They develop. They have very real, palpable motivations. And the villain is pure evil. By the final battle, I wanted to kill him so badly my palms were sweating.

I would have played the game all the way through for the story alone, but as a bonus, I also happened to really like the combat. (I'm actually kind of perplexed to see how many commenters are hating on it.) It's basically just KOTOR, but way more hardcore. The combat is punishing. You have to strategize your attacks, match your weapons to your opponents' armor. I'm usually one to throw in the towel pretty quickly when the going gets tough, but I found myself replaying certain battle sequences over and over again before getting them right. Victories were incredibly satisfying, and often didn't come easily.

My only complaint, aside from the slow start, is the twitchy camera movement. Sometimes it drove me batshit crazy, but in the grand scheme, it was really only a minor inconvenience.

Great game with a couple of more than memorable moments, if you can look through the sometimes horrible voice acting and at times slow pacing. Some also think that the combat is clunky and terrible but I didn't mind it that much myself. While the graphics aren't very special, they serve their purpose and create a lot of atmosphere that fits right in the game of thrones universe and the armour sets look at times terrific! Furthermore, this game is worth playing for its story alone with its many plot twists and cool cameos (George R.R. Martin himself, Varys, and Cersei make their appearance).

Accompanied by the original game of throne music score, I can heartily recommend to play this game to anyone who is interested in an interesting addition to the game of thrones universe. Sure it has its flaws, but I reckon the budget also wasn't that high to begin with. A remaster of this game, or even a remake would be awesome.

As a final note, there is a good boi in this game that you can even play regularly. Don't hesitate and give it a try!

A very surprising gem of a game. Can't recommend it enough for Game of Thrones fans. You meet a few characters from the TV show with voice acting from the real actors/actresses. The story is the only real reason to play this as the game-play is severely lacking. The combat is essentially a copy of Runescape. The normal difficulty is quite difficult and mid-way through I changed it to easy so I could enjoy it a lot more.

Must play for die hard GoT fans but a pass for everyone else.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, right down to the twist at the end!
Not exactly Canon and I missed visiting some of the locations (based on the choices I made), but all in all a good game.

Pros:
+ interesting storyline
+ multiple endings based on character choices
+ weapons and armor look really cool
+ different character classes enhance replay value
+ combat system can actually be fun after a while

Cons:
- clunky camera movement
- compatibility issues on newer software
- some character voices seem dull
- some secondary quests can be tedious

Overall, this is a must-play for ASOIAF fans and RPG fans who love a good story. The main quests are interesting, but you have to be thorough for every chapter if you want to complete all the secondary quests.

There's not much intersting games out there that explore the world of Westeros, so you might as well give this one a try. The story is this game's greatest strength and holds up today despite the dated graphics.

A decent interactive drama game (in disguise) burdened by boringness of cumbersome combat system and unnecessary rpg elements.

Giving credit where its due: this game features a very compelling and well told story: grim plot featuring very charismatic protagonists seamlessly interweaved into GoT universe, being true to its spirit. The writing is solid and is on par or above of writing of TV series (*cough S8 cough*). There's that.

And then, there's trash-tier attempt to attach rpg/combat system to it. You're not getting anything worthwhile here. I'd advise you to not bother, simply refrain to cheats if you're that interested in story or just ignore this title if you don't want to.

The game itself isn't that great, the gameplay is awkward at best, trying to imitate Dragon Ages battle system, awfully. The rpg element of the game doesnt really do that much except unlock attacks, most of which you ignore as you found a pretty effective system at level 10. The Warg parts of the game happen a good part of 3 times, and each one is fairly easy to do, once you unlock the takedown skill with the dog you tend to clear out the entire map with the dog before actually doing anything.
The only thing it's really good for is being a GoT game, in which case you get to see about 3 characters from the book/show. Wouldn't recommend unless you're a hardcore GoT fan and want as much story as possible.
