Vor 26 Jahren erschien mit Gold Rush! eines der umfangreichsten Abenteuerspiele der 80er Jahre. Das Remake entführt dich mit hochauflösenden Grafiken, Sprachausgabe, neu eingespielter Musik, optimierten Quests und den zwei Steuerungsmöglichkeiten wieder in die Goldgräberzeit, ins Jahr 1849. Mit Sicherheit eine der spannendsten Zeiten der amerikanischen Geschichte!
Gold Rush! beinhaltet drei verschiedene Routen, die Zehntausende zu den Goldregionen führten. Schlüpfe in Jerrod Wilson’s Haut und durchlaufe jede Strecke auf dem Weg von New York nach Kalifornien.

Für welche Route du dich auch entscheiden magst, alle Routen beinhalten historische Schauplätze. Von den Great Plains zu den riesigen Gebirgsketten bis zum panamaischen Isthmus und dem Kap Horn am südlichen Zipfel Südamerikas. Wenn du überlebst und in Sutter’s Fort ankommst ist das Abenteuer noch nicht zu ende. Es gibt viele Rätsel zu lösen, bevor du deine Ziele in Kalifornien erreichst.

Das Remake des Spiels zeichnet sich durch das gleiche Flair, dieselbe Storyline und den drei Lösungswegen aus. Charakteristisch sind die hochauflösenden Grafiken, die Sprachausgabe sowie die beiden vorhandenen Steuerungsmöglichkeiten.

Das Spiel befindet sich in einer DVD-Case, die sich wiederum in einer hochwertigen Pappverpackung mit einer Klappe befindet.

Eines meiner absoluten und einzigen Lieblingsspiele.

Pros:
-unglaubliche Grafik
-umwefrende und emotionale Haupstoy
-in-App Käufe und Skins
-VR-Kompatibilität
-unterstützt die danksten Memes des gesamten Internets
-unterstützt durch Harambe

Cons:
-immensive Grafikanforderungen
-man muss bei der Story weinen
-ganz doll
-die Zeit vergeht zu schnell und man verliert alle sozialen Kontakte während man dieses Meisterstück spielt
-Man bereut jede vergangene Sekunde seines Lebens, in der man dieses Spiel nicht gespielt hat

Zusammenfassung:
In meinen gesamten 17 Jahren bei Steam habe ich noch nie ein besseres Spiel als dieses Anime Crossover High-Noon Mashup genießen dürfen.
Ich habe bereits 4000€ und 1739 Stunden in dieses Spiel investiert aber es war es alles wert.

Eine wirklich schöne neue Version des alten Sierra-Spiels. Sogar das Intro wurde erneuert, witzig. Am Anfang muss man sich aber erstmal mit der neuen Steuerung zu Recht finden, wenn man nur die alte AGI-Steuerung gewohnt ist. Aber auch die wird unterstützt. Klasse. Mein Retro-herz freut sich schon jetzt auf tolle Stunden!

i've played it now a lot of hours and I really like it. the puzzles are as in the original game and all dead-ends were cut out of the game. great!
i wonder only why the voice of the story-teller changes in the game - funny :)

+ Umschaltung zwischen Tastatur/Maus Steuerung.

- Lautstärke Ingame nicht einstellbar.

Ein schönes Spiel :)
Grafik ist top, die Musik passt perfekt und es ist schön zu sehen, was aus Gold Rush gemacht wurde.
Ich habe zwar noch nicht viel gespielt, bin mir aber trotzdem sicher das Gold Rush Suchtpotential besitzt.

A great game overall and a real joy for every fan of classic adventure games.
As a remake of an old Sierra game, It is just the right mix between old an new:
There is no handholding and you are left on your own to explore an solve the riddles, but they never bevome illigocal so that you might get stuck.
The graphics are charmingly updated, the music is fitting.
Combinded with complete mouse-controle and fully voiced dialogues it is a real gem.

Das gesamte Spiel scheint ein Liebesbrief an das Original zu sein. Es wurde nichts geändert, was damals schon funktioniert hat und Kenner können das Remake wahrscheinlich blind bezwingen. Neulinge im Genre oder Spieler, die mit dem Original nichts am Hut haben werden sich aber vielleicht wünschen blind zu sein. Gold Rush! Anniversary erfindet das Rad nicht neu, bietet Nostalgikern aber die Möglichkeit eine etwas schönere Version ihres Gold Rush!, zu erleben.

Gold Rush!?
Das gab es doch schon mal! Stimmt und eines war eines meiner Lieblingsspiele auf dem Amiga. Schön das es jetzt ne überarbeitete Version für den Mac gibt. Nach den ersten Spielminuten fühle ich mich in meine Jugend versetzt. Toll! Die ungewohnte detailreiche Grafik im vergleich zum „Original“ gefällt. Trotz schmerzhafte 30 Euro ist es zu empfehlen…

i have played it till the cape horn route and it looks good so far. I used to play the classic game in my childhood and this brings back memories :)

Absolute disgrace to the original game!! I received this as part of a bundle to hopefully relive some childhood memories. This version of the game is heavily bugged and should not even be allowed for sale. Have started over twice now and stuck in the same spot both times right in the first 5 minutes of the game (go to the dock to read the poster, and on the way back, stuck walking). I also tried to save the game, well, the save looked successful. When I tried to load a saved game, nothing there! WTF. Both are known bugs by the developer and they have posted workarounds for them. They spent two years remaking this classic and apparently it's good enough to sell.

When Sierra On-Line released the classic version of this game in 1988 over 30 years ago, it ran a LOT better than this. You should be ashamed of yourselves. If you're going to remake a classic, either do it right or don't do it at all!

I play a lot of adventure games... This one sucks.
Crap animation
Crap graphics
Crap voice acting...really really cringe worthy kind of crap
and I felt tortured by trying to play it...
Why is this a game? It may have been OK 20 years ago but nowadays with the quality of adventure games out there now... this is a waste of data. Sorry devs but its bloody awful...

If you played Gold Rush when you were young you may enjoy it, but as a modern game it's short, with tedious boring parts and dead man walking situations and the graphics and voicing are poor at best.
Just not worth playing in my opinion.

This game has several dialogue issues of all kinds. The voice acting sounds stilted and forced. The text parser is bad, much worse than the original. With the price of this remake you'd think they would have fewer issues and improved more than just the graphics. Not at all worth the price, even at the 50% off I paid for it.

If you reallly want it, wait for an 80% off sale. That would be close to the actual value of this game.

Only worth your time if it triggers a great deal of nostalgia for you. The remake is pretty buggy and not great. Still, if you played the old Gold Rush (which is also included) then it can be enjoyable. Otherwise, stay away.
