After having banned the influence of the gods in Myrtana, the nameless hero and Xardas have left this world in order to prevail the balance of power. Von der Demo war ich begeistert, aber jetzt spielt sich das Game schwammig und die Grafik lässt auch zu wünschen übrig. Hatte mich auf das Game gefreut, aber leider so ist es nicht wirklich gut spielbar.

Man nimmt das gute Gothic 3. Schneidet die Hälfte der Welt raus. Ersetzt die Hälfte der Charaktere mit Namen durch normale NPCs und fügt nochmal genauso viele hinzu. Man hat random Gebäude hingesetzt, welche kein bisschen in die Welt passen und auch von weitem sieht man noch Gebäude aus G3, welche wenn man näher kommt einfach verschwinden. Die Quests sind unübersichtlich und kein bisschen zielführend, sodass man das Gefühl hat, dass man alles umsonst macht.

Traumatisch, das einzige Wort das mir zum Ad-On von Gothic 3 einfällt. Schon Gothic 3 war kein Vergleich mehr zu den durch Detailverliebtheit und Charakterstärke geprägten Spielen Gothic 1, 2 sowie des AD-On´s Nacht der Raben, aber diese Kreation, wenn man von einer solchen überhaupt sprechen kann, ist eine Ansammlung von Dreistigkeit. Weniger Monster, weniger Charaktere, weniger Quest´s, furchbares Kampf und Balance System und eine Story die an Lücken zur Basislinie der Gothic-Reihe kaum mehr zu toppen ist.

FAZIT: Ich bin enttäuscht und zutiefst dankbar über das Comeback der Serie durch die Neuauflage von Gothic 1, bei der wie ich hoffe die Story unangetastet bleibt. Weiterhin hoffe ich dass die Teile 3, 3+, Arcania und Arcania+ von Grund auf im Sinne der Teile 1 und 2 neu entworfen und veröffentlicht werden. An dieser Stelle ist zu sagen das eine drastische Abweichung vom derzeitigen Stand des Basisspieles und der Erweiterung mehr als Wünschenswert wäre.

Denn so wie das Spiel jetzt ist macht es einfach keinen Spaß.

völlig schwachsinniges Produkt das nichts aber auch gar nichts mit dem Original von Piranhabytes zu tun hat, der reinste abriss und unrühmliches Ende eines der grossen deutschen RPG's , kauf Dir lieber Risen 1-3.

Nur echte Fans der Gothic Reihe sollten dieses Machwerk spielen und auch nur der Vollstaendigkeit zu liebe.

Es ist erstaunlich, dass viele der negativen Rezensionen aus dem englischen Sprachraum stammen und auch mit der Tatsache, dass Götterdämmerung nicht von Piranha Bytes entwickelt wurde, zusammenhängen.

Götterdämmerung gehört nicht zum offziellen Gothic-Kanon, trotzdem ist die Story ganz nett. Das Spiel schließt an das kanonische Xardas-Ende von Gothic 3 an. Myrtana ist mal wieder im Krieg. Die Orks unter der Leitung von Thorus kämpfen gegen die Menschen unter der Leitung von Gorn. Die Brüder Anog und Inog (die heißen tatsächlich so) haben eine Zuflucht für die Kriegsmüden Bewohner Myrtanas geschaffen, während Lee als Regent in Vengard sitzt und sich aus dem Krieg herauszuhalten versucht. Der Namenlose Held kehrt aus seinem selbstauferlegten Exil zurück, um Myrtana zu vereinen und dem Land den Frieden zu bringen. Dabei muss er sich entweder mit Gorn, oder mit Thorus verbünden. Nachdem er das geschafft hat, wird er im Thronsaal zu König Rhobar III. ernannt, was einen Übergang zu Arcania bildet.

Die Nebenquests sind deutlich besser als in Gothic 3. Die Welt ist etwas kleiner, da sie nur aus Myrtana besteht. Nordmar und Varant wurden nicht ins Spiel integriert. Auch wenn die Myrtana-Map wiederverwertet wurde, sieht die Welt doch anders aus, zum Beispiel ist Vengard keine Ruinenstadt mehr und ist auch ohne Teleportstein betretbar. Zu erwähnen ist auch, dass Götterdämmerung im Norden der Map beginnt und man erst relativ spät in das Startgebiet aus Gothic 3 kommt.

Was an Götterdämmerung - neben den Bugs - stört ist, dass man den Eindruck hat, dass die Autoren Gothic 3 nie gespielt haben. Zum Beispiel kann man die Krone Adanos' finden, obwohl diese zerstört wurde und auch die Schreine funktionieren noch, obwohl die Götter die Welt verlassen haben. Der Held war noch nie ein strahlender Ritter in glänzender Rüstung, aber hier verhält er sich in vielen Dialogen wie ein autokratischer Nationalist, der regelmäßig Leuten androht, dass sie in Myrtanas Zukunft keinen Platz haben, wenn sie ihm widersprechen und der auch gerne mal betont, dass nur er weiß, was gut für das Land ist. Zum einen verständlich, da sich der Held in Gothic 3 für einen Frieden aufgeopfert hat, der nur sehr kurz Bestand hatte, zum anderen ist es schade, was aus dem Helden geworden ist.

Genau wie für Gothic 3 gebe ich auch für Götterdämmerung eine vorsichtige Kaufempfehlung.

Vor 2 Wochen Gothic 3 beendet und mit Götterdämmerung gleich weitergemacht.
Im Gegensatz zu Gothic 3 wo wir den letzten Community Patch noch manuell einfügen müssen, befindet sich das Addon komplett auf dem neusten Stand. Trine Studios hat allerdings massives Recycling betrieben und die kompletten Gebiete des Hauptspiels von Piranha Bytes übernommen und nur ein paar Sachen verändert, bzw. auch Gebiete gestrichen.
Interessant zu sehen war, dass sich einige Städte verändert und erweitert haben, interessant, da zwischen Hauptspiel und Addon eine gewisse Zeitspanne in der Geschichte liegt. Trine Studios hat ebenso viele Gebiete entmonstert, so finden sich deutlich weniger Tiere und Monster in der Welt, was sich zuweilen noch leerer anfühlt. Auch die Dialoge sind alles andere als Piranha Bytes Niveau, aber sei´s drum. Das Spiel funktioniert mit der Enhanced Edition wirklich gut und ziemlich bugfrei. Mit knapp 16 St. Spielzeit bekam ich praktisch mehr von Gothic 3, welches zwar nicht die Qualität erreichen konnte, aber zumindest für die Spielzeit kurzweilig unterhalten hat. Wer Gothic 3 mochte und mehr vom gleichen möchte, bekommt hier im Sale für sehr wenig Geld mehr Material. Allerdings die Erwartungshaltungen leicht herunterschrauben.

Als großer Fan von Gothic 3 kann ich Götterdämmerung nicht empfehlen. Nein auch für nicht Fans der Reihe kann ich es nicht empfehlen. Es wirkt auch mit Community Patch unfertig und die Story überzeugt überhaupt nicht. Wirklich Spaß hatte ich mit dem Spiel nicht. Auch von der Welt von Gothic 3 so begeistert war nicht mehr viel übrig. Auch als großer Fan der Reihe kann ich nur sagen, Finger weg. Es gibt deutlich bessere Unterhaltung als dieses Spiel. Und als Ergänzung zu Gothic 3 ist es nicht akzeptabel.

Es macht spaß, aber nur wenn man darüber lacht wie schlecht es ist und dann weint weil Gothic tot ist.
Die Welt ist sehr tot, es gibt kaum Nebenquests die zum erkunden einladen und die Dialoge sind sehr flach. Der Charakter des Namenlosen Helden hat sich total verändert und wurde meiner Meinung nach nicht vernünftig umgesetzt.

Gothic 3: Götterdämmerung wurde von Trine Games entwickelt, nachdem PB das Franchise JoWood verloren hatte. Und es ist offensichtlich, dass es nur ein billig gemachter Cash Grab ist, den auch das CPT nicht retten konnte.
Fast alles an diesem Spiel wurde aus Gothic 3 übernommen, also von anderen Entwicklern. Alle Gegenstände und Charaktermodelle, die neu gemacht wurden, sehen nicht gut aus und passen nicht zum Artstyle. Mehr als die Hälfte der Spielwelt wurde grundlos entfernt. Dialoge sind nun unglaublich langweilig und ergeben oftmals nicht mal Sinn. Die Story ignoriert die multiplen Enden des Vorgängers. Der namenlose Held ist zu einem verbitterten Unsympathen geworden. Und Quest sind nur noch zur Spielzeitstreckung da.
Alles was an Götterdämmerung gut ist stammt aus einem anderen Spiel. Alles was Götterdämmerung ausmacht ist schlecht.

Eins vorweg: Ich habe Gothic 3: Götterdämmerung mit dem Patch 2.0 gespielt. Dabei kam es teils zu gewaltigen Grafikfehler, die es ohne Patch scheinbar nicht geben sollte. Für meine Aussagen was die Grafik angeht, nehme ich keine Gewähr.

Gothic 3: Götterdämmerung knüpft an das Ende von Gothic 3 an, wo wir mit Xardas die alte Welt verlassen. In Myrtana ist der Frieden instabil. Es gibt ein Wettrüsten zwischen Gorn und seinen Rebellen und Thorus mit seinen Orks. Wir als Namenloser Held wollen das natürlich nicht und nach einem Streit mit Xardas kehren wir zurück. Und uns vertraut keiner und jeder hat den Respekt gegenüber uns verloren. Wäre das aber nicht genug, haben wir uns auch zu eher zu einem Patriarchen entwickelt der nichts anderes als Lösung sieht, als den offenen Kampf. Es liegt nun an uns, ob wir für Thorus oder Gorn einstehen. Doch soll ich euch was erzählen: Egal wie wir uns entscheiden, es kommt am Ende sowieso das gleiche raus, da es schwer zu beeinflussen ist, für wen wir gerade kämpfen.

Gothic 3: Götterdämmerung macht etwas besser als das Hauptspiel. Das Kampfsystem. In diesem Videospiel hat mir das Kämpfen viel mehr Spaß gemacht als im Hauptspiel, da die Animationen für Angriffe kürzer wurden. Außerdem wird eine Animation nicht sofort abgebrochen, wenn man getroffen wird. Das Kampfsystem wirkt also etwas flüssiger als in seinem Vorgänger. Doch dafür hat Gothic 3: Götterdämmerung ein ganz anderes Problem.

Die Grafik. Diese ist identisch mit der von Gothic 3. Jedoch gibt es ein enormes Flackern bei Bäumen. Das geht so weit, dass manche Bäume komplett verschwinden. An sich wäre das kein Problem, zumindest sehe ich kein Problem da drin, jedoch hat das enorme Auswirkungen auf die Performance. Manche Kämpfe habe ich aus diesem Grunde sogar verloren, einfach weil das gesamte Spiel geruckelt hat. Ärgerlich: Da man mittlerweile nur noch auf Myrtana unterwegs ist, was auch groß genug ist, sieht man hauptsächlich nur Bäume. Dieses Flackern begleitet also einem das ganze Spiel lang.

Der Soundtrack ist identisch zu Gothic, genauso wie die Synchronsprecher. Nur sind die Dialoge schlecht geschrieben, da unser Held ja eine Gehirnwäsche unterzogen worden ist. Dieser Beleidigt beispielsweise Personen, die nicht bereit sind, gewaltsam einen Krieg aufzuhalten.

Doch dafür sind die Quests besser als im Hauptspiel. Diese bestehen nämlich nicht nur aus gehe zu A und töte B. So muss man beispielsweise eine Gruppe Orks von angreifenden Paladinen verteidigen oder eine Frau mit zum Shoppen begleiten. Klar, dass ganze macht manchmal nicht Sinn, jedoch lassen wir dies Mal außen vor.

Was auch ein Problem ist, ist das Fehlen von Lehrern. Es ist fast so gut wie unmöglich eine bestimmte Fähigkeit zu erlernen, einfach weil man genau für diese nur einen Lehrer hat. Um diese zu leveln, kann man also erst einmal durch die gesamte Spielwelt latschen. Das Levelsystem ist identisch zu dem von Gothic 3 und den Vorgängern.

Die Spielzeit ist meiner Meinung nach akzeptabel und ich hatte meinen Spaß mit der Erweiterung. Ohne Grafik-, und Logikfehler wäre es eine akzeptable Erweiterung. So wie die Erweiterung jedoch ist, macht sie nur minimal mehr Spaß, als das Hauptspiel, was es seinen kreativen Nebenquests zu danken hat. Persönlich, hatte ich meinen Spaß mit der Erweiterung.

Forsaken gods is infamous for being buggy. Even more so than after the release of the base game. Bugs that got officially patched out in gothic 3 got reintroduced here. Now today we already have the last and final (unofficial) patch already out and I beat the expansion. Its mostly playable but even then, I encountered one or two issues already.

Gameplay
There is nothing really changed from the base game to this expansion. You have a couple of new items and armor but that’s about it. There are like two new enemies in the game.
The main mission is now a huge questline that involve multiple quest chains which often have quests in themselves. This is how this expansion plays like, the main story is the most important part and there is almost nothing to do except this.

You will also directly notice how empty the game is. The village you spawn in has like 5 quests, even some named NPC barely have any dialogue and for some reason every city has like dozens of people just named “Trader”. The next city you walk to is even more laughable, as there are literally just two out of like 20-30 npc´s that are named and have any dialogue/quests for you. Most of the time I spent running around trying to find named npc´s so I can continue with the main story.

To get the trust of a person or a favour you need to a task or multiple tasks for them which in turn ends up in another middleman giving you one or two tasks. Quite tedious after some time to keep up who you need to help in which order again.

But that is not really an issue, if the quests are fun. It doesn’t start that bad, but later you mostly do escort quests. Meaning escort people to the next town. In the main quest almost half of these tasks are escorting someone to a place. Or just randomly making you teleport across the map to give something to a person and come back again. Additionally, some main quests are literally grindy fetch tasks like bring me 5 bottles of alcohol etc.

Especially awful is if someone wants you to go into cave xy or talk to person xy but don’t give any description where to find this. I resorted to google more often in my 15+ hour playthrough than my 45+ gothic 3 playthrough.

The end builds up that there will be some huge fight but instead you get sent down into some cave to kill some random monster and you miss it. There is not a single decision you can make in the whole expansion.

Story
The idea is that they took one of the three endings, mainly the Adanos/Neutral/Xardas ending and give gothic 3 basically an epilogue.

Thorus is now one of the leaders in the orc army, against him is Gorn who are struggling to fight over Myrtana. Lee tries to stay neutral and some villagers as well which does not make that much sense since a lot of quests involve or tell you that they fight already. The village you spawn in literally has you to escort and defend a caravan from orc attacks. Why exactly do they say they are neutral again?

All quests you do don’t matter. The whole ordeal is just to pad time as the whole thing is just to get Lee on Gorns side which involve like 3 quests. The rest is just filler or not ever mentioned again.

The main character is now completely changed and the dialogues are written so comedically bad that I laughed a lot of your main character either just does every stupid task willingly or just comments with a dark tone that soon things will change hinting at the gothic 4 (arcania) storyline.

Aesthetics
Graphically wise it improved a lot. Especially (new) armor looks good, and the hair textures also have been reworked.

Some places have been slightly reworked, adding some details like lots of new tents , which make sense since there is a war going on, or the main city Vengard has been rebuild.
There is no new soundtrack available so the same OST you already had looping in gothic 3 will repeat itself.

Conclusion/TL;DR
Its infamous on how bad this expansion is. There is no new content added except a few items. You don’t have a game but a 15+ hour long fetch quest storyline that ends into a very uncredible and cringeworthy ending which doesn’t make it even good as an epilogue.

Even after first hour of playing I was disappointed. For anyone who played the original Gothic 3 this just has to be a disappoitment. Good features from original Gothic are gone, the concept of progressing through an RPG is really lame here, just not what I expected...

I have played all the Gothic games and the quests are easy to finish and there are a lot of enemies to kill so that you can level up. Great game and I hope that there will be more Gothic games in the future!!!

Don't listen to others, until you play the game yourself.
It's a splendid DLC, and keep in mind it's a DLC, not fully fledged game!

People usually talk to much.
Bad optimization and so on, but they can't set it properly. Bunch of id*ots.
And they used to complain that the main path is rectilinear, but sometimes the simplicity is a key, isn't it?

Give it a try. Trust me!

An utter mess of a game, boring busy-work quests with a vague dialogue record system to track your quest progress. Combat is much worse than gothic 3. Lore is also a mess, good thing it's non-canon.

Do not play this, seriously.

Forsaken Gods is an abomination of a game and an insult to Pyranha Bytes and the fans of the previous Gothic games.

I have no explanation for the state of this game other than it must have been made this bad on purpose, as a way for JoWood to take a hit at PB.

- The community patch just makes the game playable (as in you can actually play for 5 minutes without the game crashing or glitching out). But the main issues still remain.

- From the get go you realise nothing makes sense in Forsaken Gods. The plot is abysmal, the characters and the quests are really, really bad, like worse than a lazy mmorpg WoW clone!

- The dialogue is laughable at best. Most of the characters returning from Gothic 3 sound and act completely different. The NH was completely butchered, brought back as a schizophrenic patriotic tyrant?!

- They barely changed anything in the game world, and what little they added is of a very poor quality (like the empty orc tents lmao). The new armors and weapons are simply terrible in design.

- TROGLODYTES??? WHAT

- They removed Varant and Nordmar from the game BY SIMPLY BLOCKING THE PATHS WITH BOULDERS AND OFFERING ABSOLUTELY NO EXPLANATION FOR THAT.

- They didn't bother to remove/change the magic system. Following the canon ending of G3 the gods were banished and the magic disappeared, yet in FORSAKEN GODS you can still pray to the same shrines and learn magic?!

- YOU CAN STILL READ THE BOOKSHELVES AND IT'S THE SAME F****G LORE FROM G3 ALL OVER AGAIN. HOW???

- The performance is terrible, it was pretty bad for Gothic 3 as well but Forsaken Gods takes the cake here.

Having played Gothic 1,2 and 3 before, this one is definitly the worst out of the bunch, however I did play through the entire game, so I can confidently share my opinions about it.

It's basicly Gothic 3 with only a part of the map to explore and the parts which can be explored aren't filled with interesting quests. The german dialougue audio is missing all together, so I went for english, but also for that roughly 10-15% of the dialogue lines are not voiced.

the game isn't exactly challenging. you start at a higher level than the base game and then get so much xp from quests, that you level super quick. It's not very charming. You get to make very few choices and basicly none that actually matters. Basicly it isn't able to capture the Gothic feeling.

All in all not good as a Gothic game, and not exactly great as a RPG on it's own either.

Better graphics, the story continues, but that's about the only good thing I can say about this installment of gothic.
I was dissapointed. Thieving is a skill, that you can put skill points in. I wonder whoever did that, but if you don't, you can't lockpick chests.
Okay, I'm not going to say it's bad. It's different, buuuuuuut, putting 30 skill points just to unlock medium chests, is a no no. so I went and did all of it, without opening chests. Seriously shortened the campaign play time, since I liked to tinker around everything. now, chests just didn't matter anymore.
the only bad thing about this game is the fights. SO, GOD DAMN, TERRIBLE.
Instead of hitting an orc, my character is hell bent to kill the snake at his feet. Ignore the orc. Kill the snake at the feet. you've got your target picked, you think your character is going to swing against it? No. god forbid. I can see why people would call Forsaken Gods worse than Gothic 3 and I kinda agree but also disagree. First of all performance, it runs as shit as the original Gothic 3 but comes with a patch as well. Sadly the enhancededition_2.00.16 doesn't run as good as the patch in Gothic 3 so overall the performance is worse.
It's the same map, but some areas are closed off and some are cleaned up and the overall design is better.
The entire storyline and all quests in Gothic 3 were boring as hell and in Forsaken Gods it's the same for most quests, some are just whacky and/or so bad they are good and I enjoyed the nonsense. Although one bad thing about the quests in this one is that nobody ever tells you where to go or where you find someone. Most NPCs are also just decoration and you can't talk to them. You can only talk to the NPCs with a name and even with those only once when you get a quest and once to finish the quest and then they'll tell you to fuck off, even though you just helped them.
The overall story was somewhat better in this one and I liked the ending way more than Gothic 3. It also had some cool moments and the small scale war was pretty cool.

Overall I'd say it wasn't worse or better than Gothic 3, it was just a different kind of shit.

this is not the origin Gothic 3 game ... after long time exploring ... some of the side missions are cut off, and some place you can't go .... less useful info for reference when get stuck .... ...

It's a great game, but wouldn't recommend if you like to complete the game.
There's lots of issues with saved games. I got a really powerful game PC but Gothic 3 EE (taking only 10% of CPU) just hangs on a lot of saved games, which means you'll have to revert to an older one and re-do a lot of stuff. It got so out of hand that it now hangs on every saved game, so it's impossible to complete this game after investing 24 hours in it already. Wouldn't recommend.

Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods is the first and only expansion we got for original Gothic 3 and... and it feels like the exact opposite of everything we wanted from Gothic expansion. Do you remember the Night of the Raven expansion for Gothic 2 and how amazing it was? Well this one is absolutely NOTHING like that. First off I would love to say - there are good parts in the expansion, problem is, everything that is good on this expansion was ported over from original Gothic 3 - the soundtrack, the open world ( well, one third of it that is since you play only in Myrtana), the skill system etc, while all that was added/changed/modified has only been significantly donwgraded. Trine studios managed to prove that they are nothing like Piranha Bytes even though they have been given 2 YEARS to make ONE expansion and took basically all of the assets from G3 so only thing they could do is make at least decent storyline, add couple of new and interesting mechanics that would revitalized the combat system and maybe add a location or two and it could have at least been half decent - but no they just decided to spit in every fans face and present us with completely stupid storyline that doesn´t make any sense just so they could follow up with their second disappointment - Arcania. I cant recommend buying this even if you are super hardcore Gothic fan - go and play Gothic 3 - its bigger, packed with more content (and a better one at that) and in general much more enjoyable. This is a nasty portrayal of what sheer concentrated treason and disappointment look like.

Pros:
+ Everything that has been good in G3 gameplay-wise is still the same

Cons:

- Performance is even worse than in the original despite having only 1/3 of the world
- Nothing new and everything old downgraded
- No meaningful choices
- Game doesnt even care what choices you made in original G3 and completely ignores all endings except the one it chose to be based upon
- Inconsitent dialogues - all of the characters have new voice actors, yet some lines are taken from original ones. Some lines are missing completely and characters just silently exclaim them¨
- Quests are boring, repetitive and entirely devoid of logic just as the dialogues tied to them and some are broken
- Bugs - some from the original game, some completely new
- Ending is just as stupid as the entire plot

Somehow never played this before despite being a Gothic fan. So fantastically bad :D A third of the big world from Gothic 3 (so still a sizeable world) copied in, but with like 80% unnamed NPCs, only a bunch of really really bad quests (Skyrim ones look like high art next to this), the worst dialogue writing I've ever heard in any game, horribly imbalanced combat, and not much goodness at all :D But I kinda enjoyed the overall atmosphere (which is just Gothic 3 copycat), because I spent quite a lot of time playing that game as a kid. Still, 100% forgettable and a total waste of time until you're a moron completionist like me.

Just as bad and non cannon as it was when it released. It's fun to return to Myrtana as the nameless hero but this game uses so many assets from Gothic 3 and doesn't contribute that much ( some items and characters ).
Again, this game is not canon. Was not made by Piranha Bytes. Play it at your own risk.
