Ein gutes Spiel für'n Zeitvertreib. Nich mehr und nich weniger. Die Regeln vom Poker kann man hierbei gut lernen. Für Anfänger eine gute Wahl, wenn sie Poker lernen wollen.

Ruhe bewahren! Was hat dein Gegner vor? Kann ich mit meinem Blatt gewinnen? Riskiere ich es mitzugehen? All das sind Fragen die man sich beim Spielen stellt. Governor of Poker bietet ein solides Spiel bei dem es, wie schon im Titel angedeutet, um Poker geht. Das Spiel macht sehr großen Spaß und glänzt meiner Ansicht nach als bestes Pokerspiel auf Steam.

Das Spiel ist für jeden der gerne Poker spielt genau richtig. Aber auch Neulinge werden ihren Spaß haben! Ich würde jedoch auf einen Sale warten da 20 € nun doch nicht gerade wenig sind! Und immer daran denken; Ruhe bewahren, sturer Emotionsloser Blick und nur nicht wütend werden.

Please don't play this game if you know anything about betting size, pot odds, implied pot odds, ICM or any strategy related to Poker. Just bluff and you're good.

Digital poker just simply isn't very fun at this level of abstraction. Opponents lack any personality making the gameplay a slog through the numbers.

At first I enjoyed this game. It was a fun enough time-waster that satisfied my craving for poker, but the cracks started showing real soon.

The biggest issue with the game, as many others have pointed out, is that the AI is rigged to a ridiculous degree. They will raise you pre-flop with completely unreasonable amounts with hands they should have folded instantly. And on top of that they more often than not get the exact river card they needed.

This goes the other way around as well. Something I've learned while playing this game is that you should fold instantly if you have a pocket pair. There's something seriously wrong with the game's coding because you never ever win with good hands, while something like 7/2 off-suit would have given you a full house on the river. Basically, the game encourages you to fold hands no player in real life would while playing hands that have very low odds of winning. And while yes, luck is a part of poker as well, but not to the extent this game takes it. I don't think I've won a single hand with pocket aces. Whenever I've had that hand, the flop is always something like 2 fives, and wouldn't you know it, somebody raised pre-flop with 3/5 off-suit.

This game has very little to do with skill, and is more of a guessing game as to when the computer is kind enough to let you win a hand. I still plan on finishing the game, but it's gonna get uninstalled the second I do.

Governor of Poker 2 may be old, but it still delivers a unique poker experience. As you play your way in tournaments, you buy property in each town. This increases your daily income and is a key part to how you progress. Combined with a simple story, each tournament is given some background. While there aren't any achievements, the game does an excellent job of awarding upgradable trophies and hats to unlock. If you are looking for a solo poker experience that presents a different take on a career mode of sorts, then show the governor what the game of poker is really all about. Game on.

you can choose windowed or full screen under options. Full screen is same tiny size just with a big black border. Too small on my screen to play

Governor of Poker 2 is an enjoyable poker game set in the Wild West, that offers more than just poker. There's a long campaign where you travel to different cities, play in various tournaments, encounter a variety of different opponents (including notorious ones), purchase buildings, and best of all, you get to buy new hats!

A big feature of real poker is the tells on your opponents faces, but in this game you don't see faces, just hats! In spite of this, the game does a pretty good job of giving different personalities to the characters through their voices and actions, and there are tells in the form of comments they make and other information, such as getting steamy when they lose.

A big part of the game is travelling to different cities and buying buildings, which provide you with passive income. At first you can only make money from playing poker, but once you own a reasonable number of buildings you have a steady income trickling in. The idea is to build up your reputation and take over different cities. You can borrow money from the bank if necessary, or sell buildings if you have any, and of course, you can buy new hats. New hats impart some personality to the players and allow you to enter new tournaments.

The gameplay is fairly fast paced, it's an ideal game for a quick poker fix, but I'm not sure whether the cards played are truly random and whether the AI cheats or not. Some reviews claim that it does. I'm not experienced at poker so I can't really tell, but as a casual player the gameplay seems decent to me, even though I find it pretty hard to win, even on the standard level. The Telltale poker games are a lot more fun if you want personality and banter, but for a simple poker fix, this does the job and is better than other poker games I've tried. There's no multiplayer, so look elsewhere if that's what you want, but it provides a good single player experience

The graphics are fairly basic, and low res too, but they're functional and pleasant to look at. There are free versions of this you can play on the internet but this version, the premium edition, provides more depth.

Overall I'd recommend this game for casual players, especially because of the extra interest that the campaign provides. Serious poker players may want to look elsewhere though.

Lets get this straight. I don't play poker or any other games similar to that in real life nor did i ever like the idea of playing. But:

+This game is awesome! Firstly i got it on sale for 5euro (Premium Edition).
+Easy to learn even for noobs like me. (Has a full tutorial about poker)
+Its not JUST poker..its poker with Storyline!
+Combines the storyline and buying stuff(hats for your character,houses for rent) with the thrill of playing a card game.
+Has achievements which even for me are fun!
+Time passes nicely

-No multiplayer :(

If you're decent at poker you will find this game pretty fun. I havent gotten too far but so far I'm breezing through the first city. Too bad there's no steamworks achievments :/ I've got tons of in-game trophies and awards for special senarios thatd be cool to show em off on my profile/newsfeed ect, oh well. I wouldn't pay full price but at %75 off this is well worth it!
