Das einzigartige System für eine echte Egoperspektive in GROUND BRANCH lässt dich tiefer in die Welt des Spiels eintauchen und erhöht deine Wahrnehmungsfähigkeit für deine Umgebung. Zwischen deinem Blickwinkel und der körperlichen Präsenz deines Charakters gibt es dank dieses Systems absolut keinen Unterschied. Dein Fuß befindet sich außerhalb der Deckung? Dann zieh ihn lieber schnell ein! Deine Gegner könnten ihn sehen (oder sogar auf ihn schießen), doch nur solange ihre eigene Sicht uneingeschränkt ist und die Mündungen ihrer Waffen eine freie Schussbahn haben. Sage Lebewohl zu vorgefertigten Ausstattungen und passe deinen Charakter und deine Ausrüstung von grundlegenden Dingen wie seinem Aussehen und seinem Outfit bis hin zu tiefgreifenden Individualisierungen wie seiner Weste und Waffenplattform an. Bei dieser detaillierten Anpassung kannst du sogar einzelne Taschen oder die Platzierung von Aufsätzen ganz nach Belieben individualisieren. Was du auf deine Mission mitbringst, wird von der Auswahl deiner Ausrüstung bestimmt und geht dabei stets mit realistischen Konsequenzen Hand in Hand: Mit Belastungs- und Ausdauersystemen kann zu viel Ausrüstung dazu führen, dass die Geschwindigkeit und die Leistung deines Charakters beeinflusst wird. Platzierst du das Zielfernrohr zu weit vorne auf der Waffe, wirst du durch das Visier kaum etwas sehen können. Bringst du ein langes Gewehr mit in ein Nahkampfgefecht, könnte Waffenkollision zu einem Hindernis für dich werden.
Sowohl im Koop-Modus für 8 Spieler als auch in den 8-gegen-8-Spielmodi erfordert das gnadenlose Gameplay von GROUND BRANCH umsichtiges und ausgeklügeltes Teamwork. Versammle deine Teammitglieder und übe in vollausgestatteten Trainingsbereichen, einschließlich Schießplätze mit dynamischen Zielen und anpassbaren Killhäusern. Integriertes VOIP mit 3D-Positionsstimmen und Funk lässt ohne Drittanbieter-Software bei der Kommunikation keine Wünsche offen. Textchat und voraufgezeichnete Sprachnachrichten (im Commo-Rose-Stil) sind für schüchterne Spieler oder solche ohne Mikrofon ebenfalls verfügbar.
Bei taktischen Shootern sind Beweglichkeit und die Handhabung von Waffen die wichtigsten Eigenschaften überhaupt. Übernimm die volle Kontrolle über deinen Charakter und lasse ihn stehen, hocken und (bald!) liegen – wobei du in allen drei Haltungen über mehrere Bewegungsgeschwindigkeiten verfügst – verwende einzigartige Waffenhaltungen (einschließlich einer tiefen Vorhalteposition und einer hohen Vorhalteposition), lehne dich um Ecken und schnelle hervor, verwende deinen freien Blick (wobei Kopfbewegungen unabhängig vom Zielen mit der Waffe stattfinden), setze anpassbares und optionales freies Zielen ein (tote Zone), passe dank individueller Schieber die Mausempfindlichkeit für Schießen, nicht vergrößertes Zielen und vergrößertes Zielen unterschiedlich an und komme in den Genuss von hochgradig konfigurierbaren Tastenbelegungen.

Einfach dieses Feeling, welches beim Schießen und bewegen aufkommt, ist so süchtig machend!
Dann die Einstellungsmöglichkeiten, dass man z.B. eine Maustaste belegt und diese Taste in weiteren Funktionen mit Einmal oder Doppelklick noch belegen kann.
Ich verbrachte die ersten zwei Spielstunden damit, um das Spiel ansich zu verstehen und um mir die Grafik und die Tastenbelegung richtig anzupassen, aber seitdem ist es einfach super und ich spiele es richtig gerne!
Klar... Alpha, das Bewegen und Interagieren ist noch etwas buggy und hackelig, aber das hält einen nicht auf oder zerbricht den Spielspaß (wie bei Battlefield2042 es anfangs war).
Auch wenn mein Englisch nicht so gut ist, kann man ohne Probleme auch international mit anderen Spielern auf der Welt wunderbar zusammen spielen und das mit soviel tactical Gameplay, wovon andere AAA Shooter nur noch von träumen können.
Fazit:
Wer bereits Squad oder Ready or Not in seiner Bibliothek hat, der macht mit GROUND BRANCH nichts falsch und wird nach einer kurzen Eingewöhnungszeit, das Potenzial von GROUND BRANCH sehr zu schätzen wissen und schnell, viel Spaß beim spielen haben.

Das Spiel ist 14. Aug. 2018 herausgekommen und so schlecht als ob das Spiel erst seit 3 Wochen gibt.
Die Grafik im Spiel ist viel schlechter als auf den Bildern auf der Steam Shop.
Ich habe viel gelesen das Ground Branch besser als Ready or Not sein soll.
Beide sind gleich schlecht und nichts wert, nur mit dem Unterschied das Ground Branch schon seit Jahren gibt und es so schlecht wie Ready or Not ist was erst seit 17. Dezember 2021 gibt.
Bei ein Spiel was es schon seit 2018 gibt, habe ich mehr erwartet, aber anscheinend ist das Spiel nur da um Geld zu generieren und nicht um Qualität abzuliefern.
Bei dem Spiel gibt es Waffentechnisch massive Wissenslücken bei den Entwicklern, man kann an de G3 nur ein Visier anbringen, die haben wahrscheinlich keine Ahnung und wissen nicht mal das es eine Vorderschaft / Handschutz mit Picatinny Schiene für Heckler & Koch H&K G3 gibt.
Einen Schalldämpfer kann man auch nicht ran machen, obwohl es alles für die G3 gibt.

Ich liebe taktische Spiele, egal ob nun als Wargame (Combat Mission, Strategic Command) oder eben als Shooter. Das hat auch seine Gründe. Zum einen, bin ich inzwischen zu alt für permanent hektische Spielereien. Zum andern ist unser aller Alltag inzwischen so unstet geworden, dass mich diese Form der Unterhaltung entschleunigt. Allerdings muss man sich ein bewusstes, überlegtes und diszipliniertes Spielverhalten erst wieder antrainieren. Fällt mir persönlich teilweise nicht leicht aufgrund chronischen Zeitmangels.
Ich habe frühere Vertreter dieses Genres sehr gerne gespielt, beispielsweise die Delta Force Serie von Novalogic, oder auch Armored Fist, Comanche und Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising vom selbigen Hersteller. Wer diese Spiele kennt, dem ist klar, ich zocke doch schon recht lange und bin somit etwas älter. Auch die SWAT Serie, angefangen mit Police Quest: SWAT von Sierra Entertainment habe ich geliebt.
Als Special Activities Division lässt allein der Titel Ground Branch (GB) als eine der drei Unterteilungen der SAD einiges Vermuten. Das Spiel ist seit 2017 in der Mache und ich konnte schon vor dem Release auf Steam 2018 ein wenig spielen. Jetzt, 2021, hat sich GB zu einer echten Perle entwickelt. Taktisch sehr gut, mit vielen Möglichkeiten sein Loadout zu konfigurieren. Optisch hat es einen Sprung gemacht. Es ist keine Triple-A Grafik, aber durchaus eine saubere und angemessene Gestaltung.
Hier geht es nicht um KD und Geschwindigkeit. Hier geht es darum, innerhalb der vorgegebenen Zeit eine Mission zu überleben. Die Maps sind dabei sehr gut gestaltet. Die KI ist gewiss nicht das, was man als top bezeichnen würde, aber bitte, welches Spiel für den Preis von derzeit 24,99 Euro bietet eine KI, die so gut ist, das man ihr menschliche Verhaltensweisen andichten würde?! Bei einer zu leichten KI meckern Spieler, sie sei schlecht, bei einer zu harten KI meckern Spieler, sie sei unfair. Hier ist das Verhältnis gut, wenngleich das Agieren der KI nicht stets logisch erscheint.
Aktuell erfährt Ready Or Not (RON) einen Hype, was sicherlich auch daran liegt, das viele Streamer und Youtuber dieses Game zocken. Auch dieses Game ist definitiv gut, jedoch nicht unbedingt vergleichbar mit GB. Beide Games zusammen, sind meiner Meinung nach eine Bereicherung der Steam Bibliothek, für alle, die taktische Shooter mögen und denen klar ist, das ein Battlefield oder CoD weit entfernt von Taktik und Realismus sind.
Doch wieso habe ich dieses Spiel nun seit 2017 auf dem Schirm und habe 2021 dann das unfertige (EA) Produkt auch noch gekauft? Weil der Publisher MicroPose ebenfalls vom alten Eisen ist und ich die Hoffnung hege, das MicroProse und der Entwickler BlackFoot Studios das Potential erkennen und stetig weiter ausbauen. Nach Fehlschlägen wie Battlefield oder stetig neuen Battle Royal Einheitsbrei, sind GB und ROD die richtigen Titel, um eine Nische zu bedienen. Die Hoffnung stirbt bekanntlich zuletzt. Doch die Roadmap der BlackFoot Studios verspricht viel Gutes! :)
Kurz gesagt: Ein Spiel mit sehr guter taktischer Tiefe. Ein immersives Spielerlebnis bei entsprechendem Vorgehen. Detailgenaue Darstellung des Loadouts. Umgebungsgrafik nicht State of the Art, aber angemessen gut. Sehr guter Sound von Waffen und Umgebung. Sehr gutes Gunplay. Mittelmäßige bis echt gute KI je nach Schwierigkeitsgrad. Enormer Wiederspielwert fördert das Bedürfnis, sich persönlich zu verbessern.
Die ganzen Nörgler bezüglich der Grafik sollten sich mal überlegen, was ihnen wichtiger ist?! Triple-A-Eye-Candy welches mehr Schein als Sein ist und bei einer 1000,00 Euro+ teuren Grafikkarte mit Performanceproblemen kämpft. Einen Settings Guide samt Walkaround benötigt, um überhaupt spielbar zu sein. All das, nur um anschließend festzustellen, dass man als Spieler wieder der Vollpreis zahlende Beta-Tester ist und über den Tisch gezogen wurde. Oder ein Spiel mit angemessener Grafik und Spieltiefe, welches für runde 25 Euronen besser läuft und mehr bietet, als manch eine andere Schlachtfeld-Simulation. Wessen Profilneurose auf optischen Schnickschnack, schnelle Aktion, hohe K/D zu Lasten der Teamleistung fokussiert ist, der sollte die Investition in GB überdenken.
EDIT: Btw. empfehle ich dieses Video samt Youtube Kanal von GLID Gaming. Taktische Shooter von echten Vats für Vats. Menschen die nicht nur virtuell Soldat gespielt haben, setzen hier ihre taktischen Erfahrungen in Videospielen um. Durchaus interessant und ein Beispiel dafür, wie man für ein gutes Spielerlebnis sorgen kann. Das ist keine Werbung, einfach nur Credits für guten Content.

Dieses Spiel hat ein enormes Potential.Es macht sehr viel Spaß, die Maps sehen gut aus.
Das Zubehör für die verschiedenen Waffen ist großartig.
Da ich das taktisches Spielen und langsames Vorgehen bevorzuge ist es für mich genau das Richtige.
Man kann sehr leicht dieses Spiel hosten und mit seinen Freunden spielen.

DOCH ich muss wohl mit der Zeit gehen... AAA Titel sind zwar schön, aber Schrott. Was bringt mir schöner Schrott... ganix ... genau. Quasi, als würdest Du morgens neben Deiner hochgespachtelten (naaa dann ja nimmer) Errungenschaft vom Vorabend aufwachen, und merken, wie viele (oder wenig) Pixel sie im Gesicht hat... Die Steuerung ist ... überraschend sick. Neu, anspruchsvoll. Wenn man damit in Routine geht, ein Hammer. WHAT...Ja es gibt sinnvolle Steigerungen zum Gewohnten. Fu ck. Es gibt verschiedene Haltungen der Waffe... und Junge... ich liebe mein Gewehr, denn es ist meine Brezel, und meine Butter zugleich... Es ist mein Leben ... ich muss es meistern, wie ich meine HALTUNG meistern muss, ohne die richtige Haltung ist mein Gewehr nutzlos... somit... UUUH ja. ICH STEH AUF OPTIMIERTEN S HIT.
Kommen wir zum Waffen pimpen ... wenn wir schon dabei sind... :D
KEIN Schnickschnack zum Freischalten. Die geballte Äktschn ist frei verfügbar. Und Ey... noch nie war ne Droge legal und kostenlos...Damn... ist wie selbst anbauen... Wasn Anbau? JA GENAU.... WAS soll ich anbauen. Es gibt so viele Möglichkeiten. Glaube 2h meiner Spielzeit sind dabei drauf gegangen, mir das perfekte Setup zu Schustern. Und ja - ich bin stolz auf mich. Ich sage nicht, dass das Game einfach ist. Das ist es nicht. Ne. Grafik ist kein Dice Stuff, aber auch kein Toomb Raider 1996!
Wer, wie ich, auf die neusten Copy-Paste-open-World-laber-mich-nicht-voll-ohne-Sinn Games verzichten kann, ist mit diesem Deep Dive Tacteam Game voll bedient.
Es gibt sehr gute Ansätze, wenn das Spiel auf diesem Level bleibt, wird es mächtig!
Pve ist hart, wie bei Sandstorm brichst du dir beim Abdrücken zuerst den Arm, und dann damit die Nase.... was will man mehr?!
Pvp ist krass. Ich hab nicht gecheckt wer was ist ... und die Kommunikation ist unabdingbar! Wenn nicht sogar essentiell. HUD ist ... ne gibt's nicht...
Grafik, joa. Ist auf einem schönen Level. Reicht mir. Zumal, Alpha!
Wenn ich noch nie'n Game gekauft hätte, würde mir dieser Titel mein Brain zerstören!

Lots of gun customization options for every situation. The AI still needs improvement but playing coop with friends is still fun.
The PvP is amazing too if you play within a server with proper rules and trustworthy teammates or else it will be like a match of call of duty.
Get the game if you are fan of tactical shooters. The community is friendly and everyone is happy to guide new players.

So there's the original Ghost Recon for grown ups and the newer-generation Ghost Recon for kids. This is more like original Ghost Recon requiring you to use BOTH sides of your brain - not itchy, twitchy brain dead reflexes. You study the map and make notes about your insertion and extraction points (which are randomized which adds variety). You get shot once or twice and you die - not health bars or bullet sponging. Charging enemy positions and you end up in a body bag. The HUD is bare bones, showing just the optional stance figure both nothing else. No ammo counter - you go by instinct or feel here, quite refreshing.
There are about a dozen or so maps available right now which is great variety but some of the rooms and areas feel quite empty and not lived in. What items are there look straight out of an Unreal store asset kit. This hopefully changes as the game reaches Beta.
Can you single-player this game? Yes, there's literally a Lone Wolf mode for people like us. Single-player team AI is in the works based on the Road Map. Co-Op is fun too if you're into that but you gotta talk.
Gun play is good-to-excellent; if you've ever fired a gun in real life, this is pretty close and the only way it would feel more real is through VR and force feedback. There's good variety: pistols, SMGs, one machine gun type, assault rifles, battle rifles, DMR rifles, grenades of various types. Shotguns and machine guns take longer to load, which they should, while pistols and long guns are realistically reloaded. Tons of accessories to mod your gun with to it it out as you see fit.
There's a training ground giving you access to an indoor firing range, outdoor firing range, outdoor range with moving targets, an indoor CQB warehouse, and airliner fuselage for run-throughs. The latter two allow you to time yourself and record your best outing.
AI is customizable, which is great. Even on basic settings, there's suspense enough.
Is it worth the price - yes if you enjoy tactical games like this AND wish to support the game's development. You're an investor at this point so think about it like that.
For everyone else, there's Ghost Recon for kids.

Firstly, the Dev's have done things the right way around - as it is not solely dependant on PvP, joining a lobby and playing with randoms every time you wish to play. You can quite happily play solo or co-op with a friend/ friends increasing longevity as you're not tied to the whims of player numbers. The game / sim is getting better with every update, with good sized maps, realistic graphics, highly atmospheric lighting and sound effects once more being tuned and improved with each update.
Gameplaywise for the most part FPS's aren't my preferred genre as they seem to of gone towards perk based unlockathons CoD fashion and I personally prefer a more tactical style where you can if wished play at a slower pace and would play something like Unreal or Doom for a faster shooter. Surprising how difficult it can be to buy a game that offers this nowadays, so Ground Branch ticked all the boxes and the videos I watched looked impressive. Upon playing the game was greeted by a control scheme that didn't take up every key available on the keyboard but everything you needed was there, at hand, quickly available and soon becomes second nature effortless. Customisation of your avatars gear and weaponry set ups already provides a wide varied selection of firearms, rails, scopes, attachments which can be tested on the range, tuned in, then saved for quick set up dependant on what role you were taking in a squad.
Playwise the closest thing / feeling Ground Branch reminds me of in it's atmosphere, environment is the original Operation Flashpoint and the early Rainbow 6 games. Games where you could at times hide away in some spot or in a clump of bushes and watch patrols go about their routine or attempt to hunt you down. Games where you felt you had the freedom to play as you wanted and not adjust to how the levels funnelled you to playing. Add in the light breaking through the trees or shadows across the stoney desert hills, the sounds reverberating as you're taking fire, the game can totally immerse you in the moment, which with time being a valued commodity makes Ground Branch one of those titles for me well worth the asking price. Of course it is still in early access and there are still improvements / tuning which requires sorting, but nothing that prevents playing it as it stands today and enjoying that time spent in doing so.

Unfortunate flop. So much promise in this team, just seems like it crumbled.
The game itself runs poorly and little to no time was spent on optimization. The lag is unbearable on a mid-high tier PC with 50 computer generated enemies.
The concepts and systems in this game were so refreshing. The realistic and abundant customization of weapons was the device that hooked me into buying this game, however the gameplay itself is stale, glitchy and poorly developed.
The programming of the AI feels much more like a 2007 game, rather than a 2017+ game.
Price tag is wayyyyyy too high for this game.

Gun handling feels great. Shooting enemies feels great. Sound, lighting, and attention to detail? Check mark on all of those. Remember in old Rainbow when you would headshot a running enemy and watch their lifeless body hit the floor like a sack of potatoes? Well that feeling is back, only this time the bodies don't collapse in on themselves (hooray!).
So stop reading reviews and buy it. Much worth.

The game mostly shines, however, with the gear setup for the weapons. With robust options of sights, rails, attachments, etc along with the ability to dynamically attach them on any number of realistic locations on the weapon, you can customize the weapons to your liking in a fully realistic way.

It was the best buy lately, I felt like I was back in the past when games were really taken seriously.
Fantastic tactical shooter, immersive and realistic.
You can adjust the AI levels for the coop or solo based on your experience and preference,
You can always play alone in PVE to practice.
The level of customization of the weapons is just perfect,
the shooting feel is the best I've ever seen in a game.
This game is simple and perfect.
The only suggestion I can give is an improvement in the graphic look, it would be even more perfect.

Still laying its ground works
This is definitely not a game for everyone, with its hard mechanics and hyper realistic gameplay that I was interested in with my first ever pc game being that of SWAT 4 and form that point of view it’s a great game and ill be watching its development closely. My main problem is that of price, development time and optimization. Starting with price, its way to expensive in its current state especially since its still in pre-alpha and this only hurts the games accessibility to an already niche audience. Secondly, in regards to development time, this game has been on steam for 4 years and is still in its early development phase though this is understandable as its only a small team working on it and since COVID-19 is in full force right now I can understand the delays I’m only mentioning this to people so that they understand what they are getting themselves into. Last of all, its optimization as of now is utterly rubbish to put it lightly, for lower end PC’s so many times is hear teammates complain that they can’t see the enemy as they are barely visible with how low they have to put their graphics settings just to run the game at a stable 60 fps, so for those with lower end PC’s I strongly advise waiting for the game to get better as it really isn’t that fun when playing on lower graphical settings and getting shot form an enemy that you can’t see. In conclusion Ground Branch is an amazing idea that needs more time to be something great and as of now its still laying its ground works and I do sincerely hope it becomes something great but if you want to get the game in its current state, I would strongly recommend against it.

The only two things I'd maybe recommend will be as follows;
I think more guns should be available for the player -- not to say there aren't enough guns, it's just that I'm sure a wider selection of guns and a bigger pool of attachments would be a thing that would 100% sell the player. Maybe Vietnam era or WWII era guns for novelty sake, and definitely some other official tactical gear from other Special Forces groups, like the scoped .357 from the GIGN.
Also, give than we have Proximity Chat and Radio Chat, there should be an implemented Hand Signals bind that works like a voice command. (Like Intruder's system for it, which is actually quite good and fun to use and mess around with as well as it's use in tactical close quarters situations.)
Either was, I'll end it off like this: Ground Branch has a stupid amount of potential. The gameplay, the loadout system, the operations.. all of it comes together into one great game. I love it. And I'm also glad to see proning is coming! With bipods!!!! Thank you guys for making this game a reality, a tactical mil-sim that you don't have to sit through a 5 hour operation just to lose or win, because this is a game that you can have all the mil-sim fun without the incredibly long time sink. You guys are awesome, keep it up!

Lo and behold, enter Ground Branch on the scene. Well I didn't know anything about it but at $30 if it was half as good as it looked I figured I couldn't go wrong. It's EVERY BIT as good as it looked and more. Yeah, the bots aren't the smartest or the quickest, but I'm still getting the hang of the controls and they still manage to Ace me from time to time. Friendly fire - check. There are some really sweet memorable moments and some incredibly hillarious ones. It's a really really fun game. We've been playing it a ton lately and getting more of my friends into it. Last weekend we had five on at a time and were able to split up into two groups and assault the objective from two sides with a 3-man fireteam and overwatch. Simply awesome. Haven't played online and don't know if I ever will.
Solo is very challenging and unforgiving and the maps are simply HUGE. Think of an entire mission in a game like Division 2 or Division 1 and that's about right. Except there are no bullet sponges here. One shot, one kill. That means you too.

I like a lot about this game, the weapons feel great, the lack of UI and focus on sound makes a great realism feel to the game. The AI can be a little confused and seem to work at polar opposites, sometimes you can wade around in a hail of fire, sometimes you get 1 tapped when the smallest part of your forehead peeks a corner. They also like to collate mass graves on doors trying to push you or they will hide in a random bush in the very edges of the map.
The weapons and armour customisation, while limited is a great deal above many other games out there, where you can truly make a weapon your own, however using anything but a 7.62 weapon puts you at a severe disadvantage in 80% of your engagements, and the raise/lower weapon function does not behave all the time, so on more than a few occasions you might get stuck trying to ads and the weapon will just not come up.
All in all, this game has great *potential* for PVE and PVP, but absolutely would NOT pay £24 for it in it's current state, at a push i would pay £15 but really, for all its flaws and general jankyness the ** is not worth such a high price. Hopefully in maybe 2 or so years time it'll live up to its inflated price tag.

1. even on Untrained, the tangos are deadly as fook. On wood maps, if you're solo, dude, don't even bother... Impossible to cover all the firing sectors they could come from. They flank you, or just snipe you from out of nowhere. So the AI needs more work, currently they present serious challenge which is GOOD, but they either seem to be braindead, or Pro League material.
2. Please devs, work more on sound propagation. I play with HS, but sometime I can't hear the approaching tangos even if they're running. Sometimes I could hear them behind massive concrete walls, like they were next to me, even if they're inside a large building.
All in all, if you like original R6 or Ghost Recon, this is for you.

The game itself is kinda fun for those who like this tactical game genre (though mostly ppl just run shooting and fuck tactics).
The AI itself is way more stupid than me and THAT takes effort!
In short this game is just another shooter with good customization, it has potential but we will not live long enough to see it
if I would recommend: if you like tactical PvP you can get Squad or if your thing is tactical PvE try Swat4.

1. A button to check how many round are left in your magazine (also how many mags you have left).
2. AI companions in offline mode. (Some times i am a true loner please put in some AI companions)
3. When your in the briefing room i would think making a plan of attack would be useful and having markers for those who want to help in direct the way. (especially for new players)
4. As i said before the gun play is amazing. The customization for most guns are great but some guns like the MP5 for some reason i cant put a sight on. I try to use the rail system to put a rail on the gun so that i can put a sight but it does not work.
5. Beside the AR 15 and AK for the assault rifles the only other guns are the FAL and i hope you guys add more guns like the MK17 with a 7.62 and 5.56 variant. STG, M80 or even a ACR.
6. Enemies are even more difficulty at night time. Even on the easiest mode they can see me from across the map when its 0100 and they don't have night vision equipped, and i am no where near any light. (+ i think its normal but using a magnifying scope with night vision = blur)
7. The three time scope should be adopted like the canted sights instead of pressing the mouse wheel and selecting the magnifier just scrolling the wheel should work to activate and deactivate.
8. When in close quarter combat there should be a melee button to neutralize the target instead of nothing and you and the other person shooting in the air.
As i said beside the little issues i have the game is still great especially with friends. But by yourself it will get boring unless your into this type of stuff. i would recommend this game to anybody that's into modern day shooters and would like a close quarters combat game play. (PS i hope one day the developers make a house hostage map for terrorist hunt)

The weapon handling and movement is more realistic than any other game I have played.
This game has an extremely bright future, if it can get the support it needs.
With roots in ghost recon and rainbow six.....it has the heritage to be a true, real deal tactical shooter. And it has some of the best CQB found in any game to date. If you like realistic shooters, you will thoroughly enjoy it. And at a $20 pricepoint...it is a steal.

Also the key feature of this game, the weapon customization is really fun and well done I like that you can change everything on your gun from sights to underbarrel atachemts to magazine size. What I've noticed playing is, that when you enable nightvision scopes with higher magnification get kind of unusable because you can't really see your reticle, it just becomes a square.
But all in all the game still has it's flaws but I believe that in development those flaws get flattend out. Even with these flaws right now the game is still great if you're just looking to casually play against bots with your own custom weapons and enjoy realistic shooters.

The customization is unrivaled by even Modern Warfare and Escape from Tarkov. You can position a variety of optics anywhere on the weapon you like. If you're like me, you'll attach as many gorram things to your weapon as you can, then see if you can complete a mission with it.
The devs are super dedicated and transparent, and work extremely hard to make this game not only what the fans want, but what their years of experience working on similar AAA games leads them to. Expect a game that rewards success with a nod, and punishes each misstep with a bullet.
Highly recommended for CO-OP as well!

TLDR 9/10 Great tactical shooter with hopefully more greatness to come.
I love the customizablity of your operators gear(weapons/kit.) The game play is pretty fun and the AI can be challenging when they out-number you and you slip up but its still AI so they do do AI things like run back and forth across a door you just killed their friend at so you get a nice pile of bodies at a doorway.
The only complaint I have with the game so far is that the weapon sway is very jittery and not fluid at all so coming from other games like Arma 3 and Insurgency: Sandstorm the jitterness throws my aim off a little bit so I would like to see it made more fluid/smooth in the future.
Things I would like to see in the future would be:
More guns and attachments
More camos and colors for weapons and kit(not crazy things like bright orange and green but more realistic stuff)
More maps and possibly story like missions or scenarios
Definatly a great tactical shooter to add to your collection. I like to use it to practice my tactics for other games aswell like Arma 3 and Insurgency: Sandstorm(Atleast how me and the group of guys play them.)

I quite like the concept Ground Branch tries to put forward. Hardcore CQB gun- and teamplay that feels amazing.
HOWEVER...
While of course this game is just in its pre-alpha state (for roughly 9 years I've been told), there's little replayability and an even smaller playerbase.
In its current state you could describe Ground Branch as Insurgency: Source or Insurgency: Sandstorm with WILDLY more customization but without a playerbase. In my 1h adventure on the server browser in the evening (EU TZs), there were two whole public servers occupied(!) with one player, which after joining filled up to a magical 3 players with two of them leaving as soon as the AI got them dead. The sole server with more than 4 player was based in the US with above 100ms ping and of course passworded because yOu NeEd To JoIn OuR dIsCoRd.
As I've said earlier, I like the concept, but in its current state not worth getting into.
I am debating whether to get a refund or not, as I'll hate myself if the game gets its proper release and I'd have to pay a cent more than I did now.

I think some day this game will be a worthy successor to Rainbow Six 3, but for now, that game feels far more fun to play than this one. I'd recommend buying this game as a future investment, but I cannot recommend it in its current state.

+ Realistic weapon handling, positioning and collision
+ Shooting feels and sounds realistic and the sound is affected by your environment
+ Has a built in proximity voice chat and radio
+ The way customization works, you can choose weapon attachments and place them where you want. When customizing your vest, different items go into different pockets. There's a realistic limit on ammo, grenades and equipment you can carry.
+ Level design, i appreciate the variety. You'll get to fight in tight spaces and on open terrain. The maps seem realistic and look great. Day/Night options are available.
+ Controls and player movement. Having played Insurgency and Arma it was really easy to get into this game. There are even two different modes for sprinting depending how fast you want to move, which is really useful.
+ Future plans for the game show the developers are going in the right direction. They will be adding interesting details such as: Hand signals, shoulder tapping, light sticks, breaching shotgun, realistic NVG effects, melee system, health system and gunshot wounds, bracing/supporting weapons against surfaces, Mag/Ammo check function, Basic inventory system for exchanging gear with players.
Sounds good, i know. But what could be the negatives then?
- The game is still unfinished, and there isn't that much content. You'll have to wait for more maps and game modes.
- Customizing your characters outfit and equipment needs polishing. I'd love to be able to save different clothing and weapon variants for each loadout i make. So far I've only been able to save profiles for different tactical gear and equipment but not clothing or weapons.
- The enemy AI often expose themselves by constant yelling of repetitive status reports. It kinda makes your job too easy at times when you know exactly where the enemy is. Having only a couple voice lines make the enemy appear unintelligent and less threatening. I know that this will change for the better once the devs get to reworking the voice lines.
- You can't truly enjoy it alone. Friendly AI has not yet been added to the game. If you do decide to buy this game, you better bring some friends for the ride. So far I've only played by myself and i can honestly say, it's not what the game was meant for, you will quickly learn how important it is to have someone watch your back or cover your movement.

The other side of the coin is that this game is very unfinished. It plays well enough for the state its in which is good enough for me right now. This really scratches an itch that something like R6S left alone by focusing so much on the multiplayer and ignoring the offline hijinks. Definitely looking forward to a year or so from now where hopefully I can jump on with friends and knock down some baddies. Also, plus one for a really nice airplane and tanker ship to attack. Will try and remember to update this review if/when things change.

Disliked: game is too raw and unbalanced, maps needs to be polished, game often is not stable, netcode is unstable. Servers almost empty. This early access game needs to be released already. Otherwise the story with Insurgency will be repeating.

Please be aware that this is still very much a WIP and although updates are frequent, there is still some way to go. That being said it's definitely playable in it's current state, just be realistic about what you expect.
What is apparent from it's current state, is that the focus is on a very pure style of play: no HUD, no enemy markers, no unlimited ammo etc. And there's no progress as such: all your in-game kit is immediately available and no ranks.
Speaking of kit, there are plenty of options for tweaking your operator, even down to their boots & gloves!
This is a slow-burner, for the slow & steady type of gamer: the impatient and the run & gun need not apply.
tl/dr
Don't be that guy, dogging for new maps already.
PS It runs fine on Linux Mint via Steam Play.
