Rundebasierter Kartentaktik + Action RPG Kampfsequenzen + Entscheidungen + Deckbuilding etc.

just a little too random to really reach its full potential. Want to progress on the northerner quest storyline? Well you can stack the deck to get the stuff you need to do so, but you might still draw the quest card before the thing you need to do it. Want the gold token on this challenge? Well you need to win all the dice roll challenges or start alllll over from the start. (or cheese it by quitting and reloading)

This is one of the most depressing kind of games. Not right out bad, in fact almost wonderful, but just short of reaching where it should be.

First few missions it was OK, but then I just got bored.

It's way more a gambling game then a card game for me, even with the right equipment you have to get lucky to get it first during the mission.
Fights are to repetitive.
It could be a great game but there are too much time consuming elements:
Farming with the weapons to get the tokens, always have to play a mission to find out what are the perks of the new items. Many cards but actually most of them are useless, at list there is the filter option to find them quickly.

As a fan of the original I have been looking at this for ages but for some reason never picked it up. I finally did over the holidays and am so glad I did. I am sure my mates are sick of me going on about it now, but it really takes what the original did and simply improves it in every way. At first when a clearly guided story and fixed map of cards were being introduced I was worried as this was not what I wanted and loved about the first. however this is just to set things up, and you soon get the freedom and rouge like maps you are used to, with a story driven set of levels that I would not have expected possible, but this is really well done, and works.

if you are not familiar with the first, the maps are built up by the dealer dealing out a number of cards which your figure then moves around. as these are turned over, each one is fighting fantasy style an encounter which may involve decisions, combat or mini-games which have been introduced.

The deck of cards these maps are made up from are different for each level , but will be from a number of cards for the level, shuffeled with cards you choose to include from your deck. as you progress and complete challenges you get more cards to choose to include. This means that as well as wanting to progress through levels you also get investied in challanges with certain cards where you find yourself replaying levels over again but with new combidations of cards. There is a lot to do, and an endless mode, if you just want to have random adventures.

All in all highly recomended. when there are a LOT of rouge like games being shoveled out, trying to find a new game play that will grab you over the others at the moment, this has already already nailed it for me. Its criminal it was not a bigger hit.

Better than the first one in about every single way. Combat is a significant upgrade, as well as story telling. Instead of just going to kill jack/queen/king in a straight order you get multiple scenarios at once and can move around. Each scenario has its own story with unique mechanics and objs. The game retains its atmosphere from the first one, and the same guy does the narration.

its on sale for $6 right now and im telling you thats an absolute steal.

You embark on a journey in the wagon of the Dealer of Cards. Luck, reflexes, progression, & stories inside stories.

(People complaining about too much RNG probably did not understand that card, gambling and reflex challenges which do seem random at first are actually skill-based after training your brain on the patterns, and that many cards, equipment, blessings or characters can actually modify the odds in your favor)

Half rpg card game half action game. Very interesting mix. The story takes places in the card game bit and the fighting in the action bit but as the game progresses both sides slowly merge (card game becomes action and action game gets more story bits). The game openly references both sides and the fact that it is game. The fact that the Dealer exists becomes an actual part of the story too.

This is a really well made CCG dungeon crawler which combines so many different things into a really fun and atmospheric blend. The weakest part is definitely the Arkham-style action combat, as was the case with the first game. Some people would probably say there is too much randomness, which I didn't mind.

I was pretty fond of the first game.

This one is kind of different, they tried to add even more RNG to the cards you face. Rolling dice, spinning a wheel...

Making it mostly a luck based game. The only thing you can get better at is the combat, but even that is more ala Witcher 3 combat gameplay just mash buttons at the right time. The bad thing in this game is you are mostly fighting in an enclosed space.

Nah, for some reason I prefered the first game. It's hard to recommend this one, it is EVEN MORE pure luck/RNG based.

100% the original.
This is objectively worse. It isn't unplayable it's just disappointing and frustrating.
None of the flaws from the original are gone: a roguelike game with no quick restart, poorly described gear/abilities, slow animations.
some things are worse: An additional RNG mechanic with a skill facade by user input, the pick a card is even harder to follow, combat areas are even smaller and take longer to load, the character card (that let you modify user experience) is gone, the decks are smaller so it feels more on rails.

It's such a shame. The core concept is great but the original had that so this is just left as the lesser option.

Despite this game being one of the most unique card crawler-esque experiences out there with beautiful card art and great story telling, I simply cannot recommend it due to the fact that the studio went under in 2019. They've since stopped development of all their titles, are no longer making new titles, and so far it appears they offer no support for any of their current games. Any crashes, any bug reports, anything like that you will not be able to reach out to them for help. Their website has broken links with a copyright date of 2016 at the bottom of their page. An incredible shame, but alas, I cannot recommend a game from a studio that has shutdown 2 years ago regardless of the number of great things this game offers. If you REALLY MUST, purchase it on sale at the lowest price possible, as a game from a dead studio is absolutely NOT WORTH $30.

A beautiful game. Very rich atmosphere. I love it's ambiance. But the actual fighting is too lite for me to enjoy. It consists entirely of attack, block, dodge, and two special abilities which are only somewhat customizable. There are no stats, only a resemblance of an inventory, and the closest to skill progression is unlocking a single ability on certain weapons.

If you are looking for a choose-your-own-adventure narrative, with a sprinkling of combat and resource management, this is the game for you. Personally, I will have to pass.

Sequels are supposed to improve on a game's mechanics and improve the experience, but this game seems to have missed the memo. While I will praise the improved graphical engine, character customization, partner system, and further flushed out dialogue for making the game feel more like a lively fantasy adventure it seems to abandon the framework of the original game which is what made it fun.
The event cards this time around seem less enjoyable this time around and much harder to complete, sometimes requiring multiple perfects in overly luck based games in order to fully unlock the tokens. The tokens themselves don't seem to reward you with many new encounters or items as well, and while the variety is nice some of the requirements necessary to complete them seems ridiculous. Beyond that, breaking up the structures into challenges based off of random scenarios instead of the boss structure of the previous game feels less exciting.
And the combat is where I draw the biggest gripe, besides all of the enemies being basically humanoids everything feels slower and heavier meaning its much easier to get your shit kicked in and be unable to dodge or parry (which was severly nerfed to be more of a block than the counter system it was before).
Overall the game feels less like and exciting randomly generated romp with a good sense of progression, and more like meeting an endless series of challenges with no decent reward provided; a hollow experience for me.

Hand of Fate 2 is excellent value for its money. I highly recommend this game; though not unilaterally.

Hand of Fate has several layers to it. The first is the Board, the second is the Battlefield, and the third is the Gamble. The Board is how your character moves from encounter to encounter, selecting new cards and spending food to regain health. The Battlefield is a third-person combat 'minigame' akin to that of the Witcher 3; you select your equipped weapon, then fight with attack, bash, block, and dodge while dealing with a large number of enemies. The Gamble is what makes the game interesting; roulette wheels, dice, and random card games can help or hinder your progression across the board, and although it's often up to luck there are both ways to stack the odds in your favor or use skill to succeed. Completing every challenge will require as much luck as skill, but it is possible, and every map is replayable (so far as I can tell) so there's no danger of luck causing you to permanently lose content.

I'd rate this game 8.5/10; solid if uninspired gameplay doesn't distract from the more interesting battle against lady luck and the Board. If your relationship with the RNG is very poor, however, you might want to give this game a pass.

I normally don't like deck-building type games, but this one changes things up with the game mechanics enough that it is interesting. I also like that it involves some actual skill on my part during the fighting. The art style is a fairly unique semi-cartoony style that works really well. Well polished game, lots of replay value, not too difficult or stressful.

Whilst I have mostly enjoyed my time playing this game, there is one HUGE negative about it which is the reason for the negative review.
The Poisoner of Greed.
This is the single-most unbalanced, infuriating enemy in the game, and while thankfully relatively rare in the main campaign, starts popping up with alarming frequency in Endless mode. And to make it even more rage-quit inducing, always spawns with a mob of additional enemies, as if it's not challenging enough on its own with its constant teleporting, damage-over-time effect and ridiculously large health pool.
Such a shame this one enemy has been so poorly designed as otherwise this would be a very positive review, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this game as fights involving this card are simply NOT FUN.

Hands of fate 1 was an amazing game, its by far superior.

This sequel is garbage. I mean, the gambits look pure random, the combat is atrocious at best. Its not similar to HoF1, its more randomness and you cant distinguish the enemies from your team, because yes, you have a team with similar HP bars, so you can't see anything, can't avoid hits and can't plan on who you attack.

If at least the camera were like HoF1.... MAYBE, but, again, camera is horrendous, probably the most annoying and worst designed camera in any action fighting game. Literally, you can't see shit. And on top of that mess, the movements during combat feel completely unresponsive. I mean, what a mess of a game this is, comabt wise. Everything is done like complete trash,

Still, the boardgame part and gear part and unlocking system is great, better than the first, I enjoyed a lot the missions I played, the ideas are amazing, variety, improvement, looks like many little stories. This and the amazing music are the only positives.

But at the end of the day, this is a miss oportunity. Keep playing the first game, its a million times better. This is pure garbage overall. Combat and visibility is crap, and minigames are total randomness rather than skill focused ones like in the amazing first game.

I played the first one two times, and even the infinite after that. I dont have the stomach to even finish this sequel. I tried to force ir cause I wanted to know the story and missions and that, but omg, how bad the game is.

So sad many games developers look really dumb, after a great one they mess up and make a crap one afterwards for no reason, changing all that works and turning it into an unplayable thing. It looks like they dont even test their games, dont have real testers or quality team, and dont even listen to feedback at all.

Let me start of by saying its alright to good at best.
The game itself isn't hard in any fair way, but rather depends many times on dumb luck you you to become overpowered. Many-a-times I've tried to have a run ruined by a couple of dice throws, and while this certainly can be fun at times, at others it simply ruins a run, leaving you with the past hour wasted.
All in all I would say give it a go if you have 30$ to spare. Its fun for what it is.
Cons:
Overly dependant on luck
Punishment for death is too harsh
Deck building is p useless
Combat is too easy

Pros:
Very near to a 'real' tabletop game
A LOT of different encounters and challenges
Decent dialogue

Just picked this one back up once I got the DLCs in the summer sale

Very neat deck builder / roguelite / puzzle / light combat game - with a narrator who is like the darkest dungeon guy, if he was 1800's british?

I'm having a ton of fun in the endless mode, its very engaging. Try it!

Honestly, the clunky combat is the least enjoyable part of this game for me. The rest of it is good, the card deck building, rolling dice, story unfolding mechanics I liked. I want to go through the storylines but would have to try and sit through the combat.

The sequel improves what was boring and repetitive from the first into new enjoyable mechanics. That on top of a story that builds off of and surpasses the first makes this a safe buy for anyone who enjoyed the past game. Even endless is now fun.

I really liked the first, the story of the HoF2 is good and the fighting/arpg system is enjoyable even though it is quite mediocre. Game feels like a 1 on 1 DnD session with a DM, which I think is a cool concept. Atmosphere is very cool too. I'd really like to give this a thumbs up but the thing with this game is that it just has too much RNG.

I did enjoy my spurs with it and I like hard games (roguelikes etc) but in the end the sheer randomness of this one just turns me off each time. I mean you can prepare all you want, have a great run, but the chances of the game (DM) screwing you over are quite high. The minigames are so fast or require so much precision at certain stages of the game that you really just rely on a good bit of luck to win those. There are items that can help to make these easier, but these items often also require the same RNG to get. If these minigames were more skill based I'd play a whole lot more of this. But having to do everything over and over again until you get the luck you need to make it through is just tedious, it makes it unnecessarily frustrating and this gates the fun experience the game should provide.

Very good game. Create a deck of encounter and equipment cards for a scenario, those cards combine with the dealers cards, move around on those cards which flips them and do those encounters. Some chance gambits or Batman esque combat ensues. 22 scenarios in the base game.

Compared to the first one. Combat is a bit cleaner, the camera gets in the way far less, and there are far fewer damage sponge enemies. You have the ability to bring some weapons/supplies that you start with. Scenarios are actually different and have various objectives instead of just being a path to the boss. Four gambit minigames along with the dungeon trap dodging.

On the downside, the biggest thing I miss is that there's no longer the multi-card chains that would lead to unique boss battles like the first one had. Enemies can hit you at the start of the finisher animation on a knock-downed enemy if they happen to attack at that point, which they will often enough to be aggravating. Scenarios can be finished a standard way rewarding a silver token and possibly unlocking future scenarios, or by meeting special requirements to unlock a gold token as well. 2 or 3 of the gold token challenges are fairly annoying to complete, though optional. The game also locked up a couple times on me 3 times throughout my time with it. Not really a big deal though since the game autosaves after every step you take on the map, so you just load up right where you were at.

I just finished up the game for the first time, I'd say overall it was a really fun game. It amplified the portions that made the first one awesome and changed some of the issues. There is one notable thing about this game compared to the first.
In the first game it was progressively getting harder, when you finished three adventures enemies received a major buff. That made the game harder over time and hard to step away from and come back to. The second HoF achieves this difficulty in unique ways.
The sequel provides unique challenges in each adventure (along with way more adventures) that differ from one another. It isn't just running to the end of the map and killing someone every single time, there are always secondary goals that need to be achieved if you want to unlock all the potential cards. Additionally, there are many sideline stories that unlock progressively more cards that add new twists each adventure. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a medium level relaxation game and enjoy a batman/shadow of mordor combat style.

Absolutely fantastic. I loved the first game and bought this at launch, but let it sit in my backlog for the right time. I've been on a marathon through to the end and it's so good. It's a damn shame the studio closed - I would have loved to have seen what they did with their next game, which looks so promising. Fantastic for lovers of cards, RPG roguelikes (with easier than typical combat), Fable-esque art, excellent writing, and superb voice narration.

Listen, this isn't Slay the Spire. You're not going to be hurling cards left and right. It's not even a card game. It's more like an intimate game of D&D, so come ready to hear a story, make choices, manage resources, and do some Shadow of Mordor-ish combat. Persistent unlocks and great storytelling are this game's strong points.

I was not familiar with Hand of Fate 1 when I decided to play this game. Got instantly hooked after the first combat, now I feel like I just can't get enough. The combat is smooth, the storytelling is well-done, and although the gambits / mini-games are annoying sometimes, the frustration that you feel when you fail an important roll or, on the contrary, the joy of actually landing it really adds an extra layer to the experience.

Everything about Hand of Fate is vastly improved in this sequel, from the mechanics, to combat, to the story and characters within it. As an indie game, however, it is not without its quirks and flaws.

Core gameplay:
+ Unique blend of deckbuilding, action RPG, and text adventure.
+ Cohesive storyline that explores the game's world and why it came to be that way.
+ Companion characters are well-written, with some encounters having unique responses for particular characters hidden in them.
+ Each adventure in the game provides a different mechanical challenge, gameplay from going stale.
+ Steam Workshop and Mod support.
- The Dealer is a little less sinister than the original, but the reason for this is explained in the story.
- Crashes occur infrequently during combat.
- If you are experienced in action RPGs, combat is not overly challenging unless you're playing high level Endless Mode.
- Endless mode is a buggy, half-baked afterthought to the main campaign.
- The shuffling cards mini-game is frustrating even for an experienced player.
- DLC feels a little overpriced for what it offers.

Bottom-line, if you're a fan of rogue-likes and adventures with a lot of text in them, Hand of Fate 2 is worth picking up. Just don't get sucked into playing Endless for very long.

If you never played Hand of Fate, then HoF2 would definitely be worth buying and playing. Unfortunately, if you had and loved it, like I did, HoF2 is a bit of a disappointment. Not because they didn't add new content, everything outside of battle is spectacular. But the battling is pretty much the same as Hof1 and it becomes boring very quickly. When I found myself trying play it by sheer force of will, I realised it was time to let it go.

I will say that if repetitive gameplay doesn't bother you, then it's worth buying it. But if not, best to let this one pass.

Think of Hand of Fate 1 but better. Seriously great improvements, new minigames instead of just the cards which get supremely irritating after awhile.
Character customization isn't amazing but it's better than nothing, it's also something I just wasn't expecting considering the first game never had it. I really like the ally system and completely their stories alongside the main one.
The campaign for better or worse has a wide variety in missions. Some I like, some I really dislike. Though that gives it a certain extent of replayability, not just for the gold rewards but if the game had a very interesting map design. Each map also tends to focus on different events and different enemies so it can be very valuable for grinding certain items.

As a standalone game, it's a nifty combination of genres, a compelling rogue-like RPG where you build your deck with cards that form the adventure you embark on. A fun little experience where the narratives are interesting, the combat is challenging, and the odds are stacked in your favour (literally) when certain events come down to a dice roll or a card draw.

However, you unlock more cards in the form of new encounters, new equipment, and new narratives to add into your adventure, which allows you to try to build the perils on your journey in your favour. It's a neat little idea, and as a sequel, this game realizes the vision of the original game with more interesting mechanics, more ways to improve your RNG, and a more compelling storyline, with fun characters that can join you as companions.

If you're already a fan of the first game, or the idea of it, I would definitely recommend it. Though the luck-based elements might be frustrating to some - board games with dice have been popular for a long time, and sometimes.. betting everything on a single dice roll and beating it is the most satisfying feeling.

Way too much RnG that the player cannot account for in any way. If it were strategic such that you could avoid more of the RnG then I would really appreciate this game. I like the story telling but when you have to go through a scenario 8 times to, by pure luck, complete it then it gets really tedious. The combat is fairly bland, and it wouldn't be such a terrible element if you didn't have to go through it too often. After so many combats it becomes very tedious and unsatisfying. Everything about this game is boring repetition, and the saddest part is that it does not have to be.

I really love the concept of this and the first game, but the same issue plagues both with some of the later missions being so RNG dependent that it just sapped the enjoyment out of the game for me. I enjoy the aspect of the game that is just collecting a deck of cards, progressing through them and unlocking new ones, but the special campaign adventure conditions are so punishing at points that I stopped wanting to play.

This is a deck-building rogue-lite I guess. I think that’s the right genre, but when I hear that genre I think more Slay the Spire. Instead, this is a game where you play a card game with a variety of quests or modules. Players bring in their deck of cards to be mixed with the module that you’re playing and each module or quest is different.

A big piece of each quest and story is the layouts of cards, as well as a flow to their story usually involving players having to reach a point, accomplish some goal, or find a specific card. Since the player brings some cards, they can change how the journey goes, but the main story to the quest is locked in.

Hand of Fate 2 though is also heavily in that rogue-lite area. Each attempt at the same map, even with the same cards is randomized and players will be challenged on how to accomplish the goals set forth. There’s always a good twist that makes each level feel different than the rest of the game.

The combat here is still pretty hard from the first game, the experience though is great if you can get into it. About halfway through this game, the difficulty seems to spike upwards. I do want to play more, though, because there are not many games like this and I enjoy the board game aspects of it but it can be a little bit of a slog.

It's ok if you got it cheap in a bundle, otherwise I would not get it.

It's fun and nice game mechanics, but gets annoying quite fast...
Due to extremely RNG focus mechanics, which usually ends up screwing you over and you have to save the day in combat, which does not feel great at all either.
So you end up dreading all RNG elements and combat as well at some point.
The whole RPG/Card collecting fever cannot crop up this way at all.
I cannot play it for long before I have to put it aside.

I guess lot of it could have been improved by being more like a rogue type of game.
With steady progress improvements. But getting new cards, does not feel rewarding most of the time, since you still have to find them. And most cards contain RNG elements too..
So it feels more often like RNG screwed you over. And should you win, it does not feel rewarding either, since you only won due RNG.

Like all reviews I suppose, this is going to be fairly subjective. I've seen a lot of love for this game over the main one, so my biases may lie in that regard, but with 60~ hours in the first one, and less than 10 so far in this...

I loved the combat in the first game. The combat in the second game doesn't feel vastly different from what I remember. Though, it feels slower, less refined - harder. This isn't in and of itself a bad thing. The combat in 1 could get kind of easy, especially if you knew what pair with what. And it could have been done well, but it also feels a little sloppier, as if I don't have as much control over the character.

On that front, the whole game feels slower. From what I recall of the first, it didn't take long to get into the fights; each card stacked down onto the board that everything grew out from them, an animation of the monsters, and then you were off. Now, there's a weird psychadelic loading screen (maybe it's just more obvious that there is one?), then the characters are just there (okay, the character growing out of the cards was just a little effect, but it helped tie it all together), and then the monster animations. It just feels slowed down.

What felt as if was a nice mix of luck and skill from the last game has been shifted towards in heavy favour of the luck. Every time I died in HoF1 it was because I had made a bad choice; hadn't picked the right weapon, had chosen a bad card to venture to, had pushed my luck a little too far, but in this game it feels a lot less 'my fault' and the game was dicking me over - not by choice of course. Maybe it just feels that it doesn't telegraph what's going on as well.

What felt like just an interesting little game (the game being the 'game' you play in Hand of Fate) feels as if it's unnecessaraly expanded, bloated even. It gets a bit better as the story progresses, shifting a little closer to the original's map system, but the original felt as if the main game wasn't the combat. The main game was the choices made outside of the combat, and the combat was a fun minigame. This feels as if that's changed. The combat is the main draw, and everything else is the minigame.

Would I recommend it? Not over the main game, which is a shame, as I really wanted to love this. Was really hoping that it would be just the main game, but expanded. I suppose it is, just...but it just expanded in the wrong directions.

Am I going to continue playing it? Almost certainly. Will I replay it? I doubt it. Am I going to go back to the original? I'll probably try it out again.

Unfortunately, I like a lot about this game but I would not recommend it. The late game really comes down to too much rng that can ruin an hour of two of progress because one rng went bad for you. Additionally, this game seems to think difficulty means just adding more and more rng the player has limited control over and not explaining anything. It feels a lot like to be difficult you have to stack rng against the player and make sure they don't have any idea on what each campaign is supposed to be about. Its not fun to spend 20 minutes and then the game tells you, sorry you lose because you rolled odds and it should be evens but you wouldn't know that until now.

Hand of Fate 2 is a mixture of an RPG and a card game. You sit at a table opposite a dealer, who lays out cards that form a path through a dungeon, a forest or a city. Each card is an encounter with civilians, traders, bandits, soldiers or monsters. Most encounters will give you a choice for how you want to deal with the situation, many of which will result in combat or a game of chance.

Hand of Fate 2 takes it to a whole new level. Different weapon styles, having companions (each with their own cards and stories), combat abilities, new and multiple different types of enemies, different gambits, tokens for certain weapons or armor he list goes on.

If you want a different twist on a card-style game or if you loved the first, this game is worth the price tag.

- Hahaha.*hmm* What an unfortunate time for your skills to leave you.

- Games within games within games.
-I guess that card is one of your favourites. I don't see the appeal.

And most importantly:

The game has the strengths of the 1st Hand of Fate, however it comes down to quest design and fun. There's a line between fun, challenging and exploration and unpleasant, grindy and arbitrary. Elements of this game were in the first group but too many were in the second. I eventually just decided, I wasn't enjoying the constant repetitive play. In short the game didn't respect my time.

Great game if you want to kill half an hour to an hour. I love this game because you can hop in, do a challenge and hop out just as quickly. Every challenge is its own self-contained story, and all of them are very different and fun to play. If you like roleplaying games but find it hard to open up the Witcher 3 or Skyrim because you need to immerse yourself into the world and story again, this is your game. Play a short DnD-style story, gather some new cards when you succeed your challenge or fail and ragequit. Combat can get a wee bit tedious at times, but this is why it's fun to play once in a while when you're looking for a quick break instead of playing several challenges back to back. 9/10 would recommend.

Having sunk over 50 hours into this game i can confirm that it worth even just the slightest bit of your time. A brilliantly fun deck building game, with hack and slash elements thrown into it, will have you finding more and more ways to beat levels and complete quests.

This game is very frustrating. This game is also one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. The tests of skill and chance are difficult, but the game never takes anything away. You can keep plugging away at something until you get it. For example, to get the shard of the Arm Wrestling card you have to beat it five times in a row. Each time gets a little hard. The fifth and final time requires a roll of 18 on three six-sided dice. Even with items and companions that help, I still haven't gotten the lucky roll, and I've played this game for 23 hours. But I need to beat it, so I add it to my encounter deck every single time. There's just something so gratifying about beating each and every card.

The combat is fluid and, once you learn all the mechanics, quite enjoyable. It can get a bit repetitive on challenges where you only meet a handful of enemy types, but there are a lot to fight, and each one fights a little differently. Your own fight mechanics are split into three weapon types and eventually you add artefacts as limited use tools.

The third gameplay loop is the dungeon crawl, where you have to evade traps. I didn't know I could roll for my first few dungeons, and once I knew I could I was able to better navigate a few annoying traps.

I'm 23 hours in and I have not beaten every scenario, and there are still a dozen or two cards I haven't unlocked their reward. Every scenario you beat gives you more cards, more things to challenge yourself against, and I reckon I've got another 10-15 hours to go.

The randomness is the worst part, but also adds to the replayability in a satisfying way. There was this one encounter card where I had to have a specific artefact in order to earn its token, and twice I got the artefact I needed immediately after failing the encounter because I lacked it. Frustrating - like I said. But, when I finally got the artefact I was excited to find the encounter and finally beat it.

This game probably isn't for everyone, I suggest watching a gameplay video online. If you're willing to be frustrated often, this game will give you agonizing defeats and intoxicating victories and keep you playing until you've done it all.
