Hidden Deep ist ein 2D Action & Explorations Sci-Fi Thriller der sich 1.6 km unter dem Meeresboden abspielt. Eine Gruppe von Forschern hat dort Anomalien von unbekannter Natur festgestellt und eine Expedition die dieses misteriöse Phänomen erkunden soll organisiert. Doch bricht nach 681 Tagen plötzlich der Konntakt ab. Jetzt liegt es an dir, dem Gruppenführer des zweiten Teams, herauszufinden was dort geschehen ist.

I bought this game because Deadalic Entertainment (Publishers of Barotrauma) recommended it.

Daedalic Entertainment is a german Publisher that is involved in Barotrauma (A very good game)

COGWHEEL SOFTWARE is the DEVELOPER of this PILE OF SH..... i mean pile of unfinished 20% of happy wheels copied gameplay.....

In the beginning of the game you can really feel the vibe and and creative ideas of the developer, but after some time you just do the same sh.. in longer levels ( ca.30 min - 2 Hours kind of level duration shit) and almost the same enemies every time..... (if youre lucky you get a bigger crab that attacks you instead of a smaller one.

AND THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: No updates or even Dates for updates ........... The Dev just made a 20% game and just lured through the Publishers Daedalic Entertainment the fanbase of Barotrauma fans to buy this dissapointment.

In Summation:

NO UPDATES ---- Big NO NO
- Loooooong Levels............ (30-2 hours with no way to save)
- 2 weapons only : A Revolver and a M4 Style of gun
- Repeating style of the levels...... almost the same just a little differentiated.
- No Level Selection

- IF YOU SEE A GAME FROM COGWHEEL SOFTWARE YOU SHOULD THINK TIWCE BEFORE BUYING IT (because it just may be a 20% finished game that will never get an update)

And i lost my trust in Daedalic entertainment for publishing a game with that kind of devs......

If something changes im open to change my comment.

I would rate this game, if it actually was coop. The story mode is sadly singleplayer and the challenge mode is really bad.
the vibe this game has is epic though.

There is no functional co-op without gamepad. There is a single co-op mission. Do not buy if you intend to play with someone.

I love the game's style and uniqueness, its super nice and the way the game handles is perfect for its style, i once ragdolled on an edge and instantly died but it was funny so no pain done, but online co-op is definitely something that would perfect the game for me, i personally love how it plays out but the main reason i did get it was for its co-op and yet i still had fun in singleplayer, but since co-op was limited to remote play i did decide to refund it, still a really good game with lots of potential i hope i can return when it's ready with a game i can enjoy more than before ;)

People keep complaining that hidden deep doesnt have multiplayer yet but you dont need multiplayer to enjoy this game, yes it sucks its not out yet but its one guy working on all of this trying to make this a perfect type of game, and i personally think they dev is working to the best of their ability and is currently making this a great game you cant pass up even more so since this is reminiscent of the thing and other 80’s-90’s horror movies

While what little content there is to play is enjoyable; it is simply not enough for the price they are asking. As well as the extremely infrequent updates* that usually add almost nothing.
It is for these reasons that I cannot recommend the game and suggest you hold off for a while and see what happens.

*At the time of writing this review (25/06/2023) the last update was on the 24/01/2023 and before that in -
November of 2022

Im honestly liking this, i dont see how many people are complaining that its not a bad game. Clearly its at EA stage, so a lot of content and features will be added, but actually i can find:

PRO:

+ Graphics are well executed according to the ambience.
+ Ambient sounds are great.
+ Movement, hence different from other games, its very good and more realistic. Its a lot more realistic and less 'dummy simulator' than barotrauma.
+ Platforming is fun as of now, you have to explore, find keys, kill recover and investigate the caves.
+ Still dont know how much content in hours can be found, but im liking the first mission, hope the devs are adding many misions and story ahead, because the game gives space for it.

Cons:

- Clearly missing content and mechanics.
- QoL stuff to be enhanced.
- More monsters and polishing the storyline.

Will update in the future as the game keeps evolving, but personally im convinced the game will deliver over time, we have barotrauma behind this and they keep adding stuff to it.

this game was advertised and was made out to seem like a Co-op game, but after a long time searching, i found out that the co-op is only playable through Challenge modes and these modes are not fun and pointless. story mode is single player only. so if you are trying to buy the game for Co-op, don't buy it.

this game is not that good right now, there are only 3 types of monsters: the flying ones, the spiders and the tentacle coming from ceiling which is the only jumpscare this game has, plus one huge version of Spider enemy types that is supposed to be a boss (which is easily avoidable at some parts). needs more enemy types.

personally i loved the gadgets, the soundtracks and the engineer machines but all of these get boring REAL fast because this game promises horror elements but is mostly puzzle stuff which is not bad, but is far from what is promised. Combat is kinda janky, plus, zip-line crashes the game frequently and is buggy AF.

also this game has a Difficulty setting that as far as i noticed, only affects the number of lives you have which i can't consider DIFFICULTY SETTINGS. maybe it tweaks other stuff as well but i really didn't notice anything.

Co-op story mode will make this game 10 times better that what it is right now.
i would recommend you to wait for the full release because the roadmap looks promising but until then just save your money.

A bit of a shame that there's no multiplayer right now, but incredible amounts of potential from this game. Thankfully they're planning to add multiplayer though.

Tried the demo a while back and liked it. Debated on buying it and so glad that I did. It has just the right amount of action vs puzzle. Love using the cranes and vehicles to finish parts of the game. Cant wait for more to come.
