DLC-Review:
"Homefront: The Revolution - The Voice of Freedom"
In diesem lineare Missions-DLC spielen wir, anders als im Hauptspiel, als Benjamin Walker. Wir sind der geistige Führer der Rebellion in Philadelphia, die sich gegen die KVA, die nordkoreanische Besatzungsarmee, auflehnt.
Wie im Hauptspiel shooten wir uns aus First-Person Sicht durch Gegnerhorden. Allerdings haben wir, warum auch immer, nicht das eigentlich umfangreiche Waffenarsenal dabei, sondern erstmal nur eine Pistole. Warum die Kollegen uns ihre fetten Wummen nicht überlassen, wo wir doch der ach so tolle Überchef sind, bleibt rätselhaft. Ebenso wie einiges andere in der sehr konstruierten Story.
Immerhin führt unsere zunächst recht schwache Bewaffnung dazu, daß Teile der Mission leichter zu lösen sind, wenn man unentdeckt bleibt und die Gegner mit Takedowns ausschaltet. Zu einem wirklichen Stealthgame wird das Spiel aber nie, dazu sind die Mechaniken zu rudimentär. Und am Ende gibts auch nochmal wildes Geballer.
Ein wenig erschreckend ist der Umfang. In einer Dreiviertelstunde kann man ohne Probleme durch sein. Das ist dann doch verdammt wenig, vor allem bei der schwachen Story und nachdem das Spielgefühl nur etwas Neues bietet, wenn man denn im Hauptspiel nicht schon vornehmlich vorsichtig vorgegangen ist.

- als DLC des Namens unwürdig
=> Diese EINE Mission dauert höchstens 50-90 Minuten, hätte problemlos mit ins Spiel integriert werden können! Man darf also annehmen, dass die Entwickler mal wieder aufs schnelle Geld aus waren. Erbärmlich.

Leider sehr kurz... (max. 1H)
Aber es war mal wieder schön was "neues" zu sehen =)
Es wurden neue Feinde gezeigt, wo ich jetzt hoffe, dass diese in späteren Erweiterungen auch mit kommen.
Keine neuen Waffen, oder Erweiterung.
Nur kurz und knapp, eine Vorgeschichte =)
Freu mich auf mehr!

Basically, its really good, REALLY short, and showcases the missed potential homefront had to be even better.
If you are looking at buying homefront:
1. do it, its great (but a little janky)
2. buy the expansion pass, it costs more than the base game and doesnt add nearly as much, but it adds to the expeirience
3. play this mission before the main story

Voice of Freedom is, as mentioned, a very short experience: maybe 30-45 minutes long if you include some poking around in corners (you could probably speed run it in about 20). There is very little exploration aside from a few side rooms which puts it entirely at odds with the 'open zone' nature of the base game. Your weapon selection is limited for most of the experience until the very end where you can select from a few additional options for the final fight. Throughout the DLC, prompts pop up telling you how to make a grenade or add weapon attachments, making the entire experience feel like an extended tutorial -- the linear nature adds to that impression.
Is it fun? Eh, it's okay. The story is nothing much and the weapon restrictions take away from the shooting fun. There's pretty much no replay value due to its linearity. The change in play style doesn't really expand on the fun of the base game. If you already own it via the season pass or Freedom Fighter edition then you may as well play it. Otherwise, it's not worth the $5.99

The good:
- more Homefront
The bad:
- mostly subway, very little of something else.
- new enemy the "90" sound cooler than they are.
- limited weapons and gear. No flashlight?
- very short.
- too little, too late. 5 months after release this is not worth it.
A quote:
"The first single-player DLC release will be the Voice of Freedom and Aftermath. Each will add new districts and “several hours of original content” which adds to the 30-hour campaign. Both are slated for release this year."
Several hours, that will be what... like 2 hours?
If this is a hallmark of what is to come then don't bother with season pass for single player only.
