Fast, fluid, gorgeous looking, and soundtrack is also very notable!
Default controls, even if a bit weird - work well, but you can rebind anything and use a controller if you prefer.
A single, miniature complaint, would go to slightly off translations - but its never confusing or misleading.
If you like games like Strider or Dead Cells, this one will be right up there.

The visual design is quite interesting, and the OST is very energetic. The framerate ran at 60, with decent PC options, and I never experienced any technical issues. But the problems are with the overall design. The attacks are weighty when they connect, but they have a bit too much recovery, and come out a bit slower than expected. This would not be a problem if the enemies weren't an issue.
Some require certain heavy directional attacks to break their shields, but the bigger issue is the lack of audio cues. This means certain attacks will just hit you out of nowhere from off screen. Bosses have giant screen filling attacks that are faster than your movement can dash. Add the massive amounts of damage on normal, and the sheer number of enemies, sub bosses, and bosses from the second stage onwards, and it gets frustrating.
This is on top of the overall design of the levels. You have five lives with numerous checkpoints, which is appreciated. But the levels in KarmaKnight last anywhere from 15-20 minutes on the first run through. Compounding the length is the levels themselves. Enemies can attack offscreen when you are going down, there is occasional input delay on dash platforming targets, hitboxes on platforming sections that can hurt you are very finnicky.......
All of these problems-slow attacks with numerous fast high damaging enemies, platforming that punishes you for the most minor errors, occasional lag, levels that are two to three times longer than they should be- make an ambitious game whose pacing is off kilter. KarmaKnight wants the challenges to be fast without you being able to keep up.
There are other issues I could have mentioned: require two types of currency to upgrade is dumb, there are no healing items to use in stages, etc....but I think I got my point across. KarmaKnight is an ambitious project that I do applaud, but there are so many better 2d action platformers available: Strider 2014, the Megaman series, the Gunvolt Series, Hollow Knight, Speed Brawl, Momodora:Under the Moonlight, The Messenger, the Shantae series......I could go on, like the levels in KarmaKnight.
It could be worth a sale, but it's design isn't engaging enough to make it stand out.

Is this game a masterpiece? Maybe, it is a fast hack and slash action title set in a Korean background and with a colorful Korean artstyle. Jump from enemy to enemy and slice through him with your large sword, using a bit of magic and dashing on the way. When you are not occupied by killing opponents, a bit of platforming is required. Walljump, dash, climb and avoid spikes that insta-kill when you touch them. You can use certain stationary objects to pull yourself to them, which makes long jumps possible, like swinging with a hook.
Everything looked and played a bit unusual when I first tried out the game, but I soon got used to it's unique style and began my killing spree. It was quite satisfying to stay in the air, killing foe after foe. There are two characters to play, who look & play differently, each with his own moveset. I used a XBox 360 controller to play, which worked fine.
Conclusion:
Fast, fluid and stylish slasher.

Man this game is fun and deserves more recognition. Great combat and moveset, responsive and fluid controls, the difficulty feels right, everything is done the right way.
If you like platform and action with fun and engaging combats, go for it

Ultramarinesoft have released a new patch after my refund . The patch also fixed the problems i was running in to ! Iam in level 3 know and stil no bugs plus i can reload my save normally again. They gave me a steamkey of the game after the refund for the inconvenience, awesome! they are super customer friendly and respond very quickly when you run in to problems with there game and they fix it very fast. Never experiernced this with another game company , so much respect to them !!!! Thank you for the good experience!
So be sure to try out there demo if your on the fence. Karmaknight is a
very fun hack and slash action platforming game!.

Karma knight is a fun game to play it has good combat and platforming elements .
The problem I have with the game is that it has some annoying bugs .
I had a problems where the game camera got stuck for a minute before you could progress .
I also got stuck in room where you need to defeat all your enemies .you can only progress after defeating them all !
The same as in devil my cry or games a like. the problem was the room (barrier) didn´t open in the end.
The Develpor of this game looked in to my problem and fixed the problem I had above .
Props to them for the quick communication.
So I was happy ! I could finally compleet the first level .
But than when I try out the second level I got stuck again in the beginning of the map .
there are button prompts that didnt appear in the air that you need to press to travel over the gaps with spikes.
so I just felt to my death and couldn´t move onward. reloading my save resulted in another screen freeze....
after this point I was done with the game .
I have refunded Karma Knight And I hope this gets fixed . I am sure that this game is a lott of fun if you don´t encounter these bugs.

The game distinguishes itself from the rougue-like genre being more action based and speed oriented, which in my opinion is something fresh it brings to the table. The game itself can be challenging at times but its not impossible .
Overall, if you like games that involve fast paced action and well structured level design that makes traversal to the end of the level satisfying I would recommend this game.
false positive?
Was having a bit of an issue at first with the antivirus removing the game executable, I assume it's detection was a false positive.
update:
I just wanted to mention really quick how impressed I am at the quick response and actions the creators have taken to address issues they hear arise from the community. It's such a cool trait to see them care for their customers!
I have to say after completing the game this is one of the most fun times I have had on a 2d action platforming game. The enemy encounters followed by the shift in platforming gave the game a nice pacing for the combat. Not only that, the game allows you to enhance your weapon stats, its not too complicated but allows you to unlock an additional attack once completely leveled up. There are also small elemental skills that allow you add elemental attributes to your runes which I though was pretty cool.
I have completed my first run through and I am having just as much fun going through my second run with the second character available. I normally don't play a game over after beating it, but there were so many things I missed on my first run like opening doors that required different rune levels to open. The other character's moveset is also different and keeping my interest ( What's also pretty cool is that the second weapons you acquire for each character are different and not recycled.Giving each character their own additional set of moves,allowing some pretty cool mix-ups!)
Really happy to see this action platform genre still alive and enhanced by new developers.
Hope any issues with people not being able to play get resolved so they can enjoy this awesome game (at the moment looks like these have been fixed!), and wish the developers best of luck on future updates,enhancements and projects!
