Man braucht einfach zu lange um in eine Lobby zu gelangen, da es einfach keiner mehr Spielt. Was auch immer nerviger wird sind die Cheater, die meinen das Spiel nur noch kaputter machen zu müssen.

Für den Preis ist das Spiel top, man entwickelt echt viel Spaß am Jagen und Fallen stellen. Und für die Classmates ist es ganz schön tricky dem Mörder zu entkommen. Mit dem Porten ist der Mörder etwas overpowerd.

Gutes Spiel, man kann viel Zeit investieren und es macht auch Spaß mit Freunden, aber zu wenige Spieler, deswegen sind die Lobbys sehr leer und man wartet recht lange auf ein Game.

Ich finde das Spiel macht echt Spaß und hat wirklich potenzial. Das einzige was einfach nervt ist das Matchmaking, es kann nicht sein das es soo lange dauert Leute zum spielen zu finden was recht schade ist. Doch ich Empfehle das Spiel gerne weiter und hoffe das in Zukunft mehr Verbesserungen und mehr Content reinkommt.

Matchmaking funktioniert nicht bzw. es sind keine Mitspieler online. Daher ist der Kauf des Spieles sinnlos! Schade!

Please - Just transform it ti a Free to play game and sell skins or dlc's and you will see that the player base will grow up. It's not that complicated if you want to go on. Otherwise the game will die, it's you decission devs

Das Spiel wird von einer geringen Spielerzahl gehalten. Die meisten Spieler bilden ein Team mit dem Killer, retten einem nicht aus dem Raum und sind generell sehr toxisch.

Ich würde es keinem empfehlen, nicht einmal für den reduzierten Preis.

Das Spiel hatte echt potential, aber leider fangen die Devs nun auch hier an, alles den Killern recht zu machen. Die neue Map Sawmill, war echt gelungen, es hat Spaß gemacht die Map zu spielen, da man dort aufpassen musste in keine Säge geschmissen zu werden, oder von den Klippen. Die Map hatte keine Ambush-Spots....bis jetzt mit dem aktuellen Patch haben sie diese Map für Survivor unspielbar gemacht, denn nun muss man nicht nur auf o.g Dinge achten, nein, man muss sich nun auch noch alle Ambush-Spots merken.......diese Map ist nur noch unausgeglichen, der Killer kann jederzeit verschwinden und wieder auftauchen, er kann dich überall rein und runter schubsen, schmeißen, ziehen und nun auch noch Instakillspots...... Einfach nur noch scheiße...und herzlichen Glückwunsch, ihr seid nicht besser als die Devs von Dbd.....

I was really looking forward to this game since i first saw trailers about a year ago.
On the free weekend i finally got the chance to test it myself and at first, it was really different from what i thought it was.
Its NOT a dbd or f13 clone.
its more like a mix of team fortress and dbd with crafting.
You actually fight the fiend and craft weapons, have different classes who support each other and can always revive players like in left 4 dead, where you bring them back by releasing them from a closed room.
While playing you are looking for gears that you can find everywhere on the map, which are used to craft some class specific weapons and tools, which is really helpful and a nice refreshing concept in these kind of games.
The Graphics, Sounds, Music, Animations and Voiceacting are really great and also the maps a pretty and beautifully designed.
Overall it has a really nice and fresh concept and definitley a really great potential.

I think the biggest problem this game has, beside of some rare bugs i encountered (only one in 2h gameplay) is that new players dont get how this game really works.
I dont know why, but there is NO TUTORIAL or anytthing that explains what happens, beside some tips which are displayed frequently in the main menu or loading screen.
I had to figure out myself and look up some Youtube videos til i understand what i had to do.

If the devs continue their way...fix the bugs, get more content and maybe balance the game better, i think that this will be a really good and competitive game which i can definitely recommend to anyone.

Nach einigen Runden Killer finde ich das spiel zwar abwechslungsreich sehr gelungen auch von den Mechaniken her jedoch finde ich die surviver zu schnell die können dich permanent loopen ohne das du ihnen irgendwie näher kommst. Ausserdem wenn du ein 5er team gegen dich hast hast du Absolut nicht den hauch einer Chance. Die kloppen einfach zu 5 auf dich ein und du bist nahezu sofort tot. habe runden gehabt wo mich die Leute permanent geblendet, in brand gesteckt haben und dann ohne punkt und komma auf mich eingeprügelt haben und ich war binnen weniger sekunden tot. Die surviver bekommen Flammenwerfer und Schrotfinten. das ist doch nen schlechter witz... ich finde das spiel recht unausgeglichen.

Eigentlich ganz cool. Leider noch Server-Probleme und viele Lags. Spielprinzip wie Dead by Daylight nur wesentlich mehr Action und man kann es dem Killer heimzahlen :)
Man schafft die Runden nur in guter Absprache. IMMER zusammen bleiben und Schwächen des Gegners ausnutzen (z. B. Feuer gegen Spinnen). Die Mates müssen sich gut auf die Klassen aufteilen und ohne Abstimmung und Teamwork läuft nichts - von daher gelungenes Koop-Game mit starken Gegnern. Es ist wirklich sehr schwierig zu überleben. 5er Premate-Lobby mit ts/dc recommended

hektisches rumgesmashe.serversuche schlägt gerne mal fehl. grafisch ansprechend, erinnert mich stark an friday 13th, spielerisch etwas besser. fuer dreimal im Jahr Fun an nem versoffenem Wochenende reichts.

Fuer nen Sale unter 5 Euro wuerd ichs empfehlen .

hat vermutlich aber auch keine Zukunft,wie so viele (schlechte bis durchschnittliche) Games des Genres. L4D und DBD bleiben weiterhin Genrekönige,was kooperatives gameplay angeht.

Gerne ein neues L4D ,das wäre mal längst fällig.

Gratiswochenende angezockt.
Kurz und bündig

Macht das Spiel Spass? JA
Macht sowohl Laune als Killer wie auch als Survivor zu spielen, gerade weil man sich als Survivor hier auch wehren kann, zudem läuft es recht flüssig wenn man dann mal im Spiel ist.

Läuft es Stabil? JA Und NEIN
Ist man mal im Spiel ist alles ok aber bei mir hat es im Survivormodus zu 60% einen disconect gegeben, lustigerweise war dies als Killer nie der Fall. Zudem sind Lautstärkeneinstellungen für das Ingame VOIP zwar möglich, hatten bei mir aber keine Auswirkungen.

Preis ok? NEIN
19.50 sind zu viel für ein Spiel das noch nicht stabil verbindet und auch noch nicht wirklich viel an Inhalt bietet, gerade da auch noch ein Ingame Shop mit Echtgeld vorhanden ist für die welche sich ein wenig Boosten möchten.

Fazit für mich: Ein Kauf für die 19.50 kommt sicher nicht in Frage zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt. Die ewige Warterei in der Lobby und andauernden conectet fail Meldungen haben doch sehr gefrustet, im Spiel selbst jedoch hatte ich schon meinen Spass. Ich weis ehrlich gesagt nicht ob die Entwickler nicht besser fahren würden das Spiel F2P zu machen und auf den Ingameshop mit Skins etc zu setzen.
Sollte noch mehr Inhalt in Form von spielbaren Karakteren, Waffen , Maps etc hinzu kommen und das Game unter einem 10 zu erhalten sein, ändert sich meine Meinung eventuell wieder aber im Moment leider ein Nein da es ja kein Ausgeglichen gibt.

Also nach 16H Spielzeit muss ich sagen : tolles Spiel

-Balance ist ok, wer anderer Meinung ist hatte nur Kartoffel Spieler im Team
-was wirklich negativ am Spiel ist das der Killer der Host ist, was zu vielen schlechten Pings führt, da zu viele Leute Steinzeit Leitungen benutzen..oder wie ich es nenne Holz Internet... aber das kennen wir ja auch von DBD
-Ich bin natürlich auch der Meinung das , das Spiel mehr Maps benötigt
-Gut ist auch, das mehr Interaktion im Spiel Möglich ist als in Dead by Daylight
Fakt ist : Dieses Spiel hat viel mehr Potenzial als DBD und mir Persönlich macht das Spiel auch mehr Spaß da es nicht so Langweilig Eintönig ist wie DBD
Drücke den Entwicklern beide Daumen das sie durch Steam nochmal die Kurve kriegen :-D

The game was abandoned. Sadly no one plays. Only way to play is to get a large group together to fill all the player spots. If you don't have enough people it just keeps you in the lobby.

Game should be removed or developer should go back and fix it.

Great asymmetrical game, where you can even kill the monster. The killers each get kill zones unique to them. The developer Elastic Games has removed it for them store, which is sad. I had some great times playing this with friends. Maybe us owners of the game can reignite the flames of this game. Play with each, have fun.

Instead of continuing the work on the game, the developers decided to dump the project and create a copy of it with a different name.

I really liked the few games I played with friends and solo , but unfortunately the game is completely dead now.

I won't give a second chance on the game developers with their next game cause they lost my respect for dumping the whole project down. If sometime in the future I get a chance to play it, my review will be probably the same - Not Recommended

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!
The developers gave up, and no longer support the game and the servers are dead and empty.
It's online, multiplayer only so you'll just be wondering empty halls.

Can't even get a refund, because I didn't know the game was abandoned at purchased and waited to long to try and get a refund.

I honestly really like this game. If only it gained more support so the developers could continue to work and create more content for it. But with the lack of support the team has had to abandon the project.

This game is dead. I downloaded the game for the first time after watching some videos on it. I heard that the game was dying, but I didn't think it was as bad as I was hearing. After I finished the tutorials for both the survivor and feral gameplay, I tried to join my first online game. I could not find a single player who was in a lobby or wanted to join a lobby. I thought it was because it was 11:00pm in the afternoon, so I waited till the next day. I tried once more, but it was still the same issue. I then looked for players who were playing the game in the steam menu and absolutely no one was playing. Do not buy this game. It is a dead as people say. Unless you have friends that are willing to play with you, the game is not worth the money.

STEAM!!!! please remove this game. They have no servers on the game and the development team just do not update it or have any servers for it so people buying this game have no way of playing the game at all. Even with friends there is no server to connect to, to play.

A game that didn't deserve the fate it was dealt. I'm writing this review in hopes that this game could one day regain the playerbase and support it once had. Although Last Year did have its fair share of issues it was overall a unique and fun take on the asymmetrical horror genre. This game offers a sort of left 4 dead feel as well with its objectives and smooth gameplay flow. Not to mention it also has killers with really fun abilities and survivors with a cool class system. Whether you're a returning player or someone that discovered this review by chance I urge you to consider taking a look at the fun times this game once offered and maybe even consider buying it and spreading awareness of its existence. I may be clinging on to false hope, but I can't lie that i'd be awesome to see this incredible game get brought back from the dead.

I love this game. Even though the devs are pretty much done with the game and the playerbase is small, i still love this game. If you get lucky, or find a group to play with, Last Year wont disappoint.

10/10 RIP to one of the best games ive ever played.

Pretty fun in you have a group of people to play with. Little confused at first about how to get into a lobby with the person playing the fien but learned that they need to create the lobby and have everyone join them

Honestly, this game should just be made free. It's a dead game, you can't even find a lobby so you won't even be able to actually play the game without coming across the same 4 other players. It's not worth spending money on.

I invited my friend to a party and we load into a lobby. We wait around in the lobby for the match to start and still nothing. Suddenly both our screens go black and we think the game finally started but we ended up getting sent right back to the main menu. I invite him back to the party and start matchmaking again and now every time I start match making it tells me NO SESSIONS FOUND?????? On top of that I can't even change my settings in the game. I change the settings to my liking and I try to apply it but a screen pops up asking me to confirm the settings with a 15 second timer before it reverts back and guess what? It wont even let me click to confirm my settings and then down goes the timer and my settings are back to how they were. I understand the player base is pretty much dead but there is always a reason to everything and the simple answer to this is that the game is absolute trash. Don't buy this game ever. Biggest waste of money.

Most of the negative reviews are accurate.

The game its self is a cool concept, the graphics are decent but this game has some serious flaws which makes it hard to enjoy.

Its very much like dead by daylight but much better in my opinion but it shares many issues with that game which I will get into.

This game has 4 serious flaws:

1. Lack of servers/player base. Finding regular games is hit or miss can get several in a row or legit not find any for a day or two. I tried a few times yesterday just to find a single game at different times over the course of a day and it always came with no servers found. Even when you can find a game you will often get matched with the same players over and over and if these players suck or are toxic it can be unplesent.

2. The player base. Same as DBD has a toxic, selfish base, people talking shit, spamming voice chat, crying, verbal aggresivenes and there is way to block text either. So you just get berated by people well waiting in the game lobby and it can take awhile to save the game super uncool.

3. Buggy as hell, invis killers, glitching graphics, game breaking physics, people telporting thru walls or the ground

4. Lag. Pings are high, even when killers ping is in the 40's when I get into game my ping is around 100. With some killers with high ping my ping can hit 400 its extreme. Causes ruberbanding, teliporting and all sorts of nonsense happens due to ping sometimes makes it almost unplayable.

I really want to like this game, I wish I could recommend it but in its current state this is just a novelty game il jump onto random to play a few games once and awhile

I backed this on Kickstarter ages ago. First, they basically killed the game by giving it this idiotic Discord-only launch, and I only have it on Steam because they made the (wise) decision to still give us the keys we paid for. I've watched it hobble and die ever since, I hoped this new update would redeem it. First boot up, crashed. First game? Disconnected. It runs incredibly poorly for me, and looks like a L4D2/DbD hybrid without delivering as well as either. Super disappointed. Wish I could refund and get my money back, but I guess that's the risk with KS! Cannot recommend.

Last Year is phenomenal and really feels like you're playing an 80's slasher movie... which makes it all the more disheartening that the player base is so small.

I understand that there are a few triple-A games with a similar premise, one of the most popular being Dead by Daylight, but Last Year has such a unique take on this genre of game and I want to see it flourish.

> Unfortunately it seems to have fallen into a negative feedback loop with many of these thumbs-down reviews dissing the game for having little to no players and long queue times, which isn't entirely false, but it's not the game's fault. As people loose interest because of the few players, less people play, making more people upset and disinterested, resulting in said negative feedback loop. It really makes me sad, and I hope one day this game gets the recognition and attention it deserves so we can see even more updates in the future.

Very fun game to play, I just don't play it as often as i would like to because it seems the matchmaking is always empty. I have a hard time founding a session to play. Nonetheless if you liked the game, buy it and play it with your friends!!

What a crock of crap...

So, I was one of those who joined the OG Kickstarter for this. I did the $50 level (Still haven't received my Digital Maps, Study Guides, Soundtrack, OR Digital Artbooks). Also, when I played it my ELITE status was never shown by my name. Ugh.

But I digress. I tried it and liked it...but wasn't a huge fan. So I let it sit. And tried it again. It had gotten a little better.

Now? They've RE-RELEASED THE GAME AND ARE CHARGING FULL PRICE FOR IT. This one has been reduced to 5.69 (CAD) and I am just...what a way to slap people who supported you in the face.

Screw this game, and screw these devs.

Game is currently £0.39 on sale. Played the tutorials, seems fun, but there doesn't seem to be any lobbies to join - looks as though the game is dead... If people played, then maybe it would be a good game?

Devs are scummy. This game died, so to try to get more money, they decided to release an older build (the Discord version) of the game, but not as an addon or even a free update for Last Year player, but no, they decided to charge 25 bucks for it! That's crazy. Fuck that. Your game is already dead, how is making your barely existent player base pay another 25 bucks for the same game? And it's also crazy that it's actually MORE expensive than Last Year. Shame, it was a fun game. You know it's a scam when the devs aren't responding to anything that the community is saying.

Got it on Discord originally. Kudos to the devs for giving it to me on Steam.
Sadly, the game isn't very dynamic. Every game plays out pretty much the same way, it's easy to kite the killer with just the slightest amount of teamwork.
I like what it tried to be, but I feel like the potential hasn't been realized. Updates have been very slow, extremely so before it was put on Steam.
Anyway, I would love to recommend this, but it's borderline dead and seems to move into micro-transactions as well.

I played Last Year at the last free weekend, and i rather quite enjoyed it. Picked it up on steam sale, load it up, and nobody is playing. Maybe it would be best change the model to free to play and make money of micro-transactions (which they already have in the game anyway). If i can't find any games soon, will probably refund.

A lot of the poor reviews are mainly about the long queue times, which I, myself have not really encountered any of. This game reminds me a lot of Dead By Daylight but at the same time, is very different from it. I'll try to keep my review short, but if you are a fan of Dead By Daylight, I would definitely recommend this game.

2 hrs 3 games as fiend 1 as classmate. The queue is long as a fiend not so much as a classmate, which is typical for these asymmetrical games. Last Year has a smaller player base but it seems with the summer sale at least for now activity is picking up. There's very little progression and it's extremely grindy. If it can somehow survive while they add more things to the game maybe it'll become something great.

Do yourself a favor make sure you have at least 2 other people to play with before picking this up. As long as your server can find 3 other players you'll get going. As always though the more the merrier. If you're social enough their discord seems to have enough people on to get games going. A full party and killer separate this game more along the lines of Evolve and Predator with horror undertones in comparison to DBD or F13,

Unfortunately this was my first Steam Refund. The game would either fail to connect or I'd get a fatal error that would crash the game after I'd attempt to create a lobby. It's a shame since I was very excited to play this game. Oh well, maybe they'll fix it in the future. I'd love to try it again.

This game had potential but has a lot that needs changing so although it can be fun, it falls short half of the time.

The fiends have far too much of an advantage over the survivors. Once someone upgrades as the fiend through the arcanum and has been playing for at least several weeks, it is almost certain that they will win nearly every game over the survivors. All fiends do a ton of damage, have shield capabilities, can get to any location at an incredible speed and often there are massive amounts of glitches. Sometimes I could flash the fiend several times in one game and not one will register despite me aiming it directly in his face. I have also seen a lot of strange things perhaps even hacking. Fiends placing traps directly in front of me or my teammates when we're walking - something that when I play fiend doesn't permit me to do, they are able to disappear and reappear literally anywhere no matter how close they are, sometimes they can appear right in front of you while you're walking and take you down. When you start a match with 75% of all fiends, if they have upgraded and have the spells, you are certain to lose unless they experience issues with their connection or they don't try to win. Matches are growing incredibly boring and predictable as my entire team are often taken down within a couple of minutes and we don't even get to the first objective.

There are also glitches or possibly people using hacks as classmates as I've seen fellow teammates roaming in locked areas when I'm waiting to be rescued. In one match recently I saw my teammate roaming through the gym and collecting crafting material when we didn't even complete the first objective or get out from the basement. I thought maybe I'm seeing things but I wasn't. It was probaby less than 2 minutes into the game and they're in the gym. One even surpassed the gates in the belltower and was at the top, what is that? There were also times when I'll see them take more damage than they should be able to and a whole lot of strange glitches occur. I'll be walking and then get stuck and be unable to move and I won't even be stuck on anything, I'll fall below the map, etc. There was also a glitch when I was being rescued and the person trying to rescue me was outside the door but got attacked by the fiend and I was able to move around inside the escape room but wasn't able to leave so had zero idea what was happening with my team.

Another thing is the wait times to get a game. Sometimes you'll be lucky and get a few games in a row with hardly any wait but other times? It can be up to an hour before you even get to play. This means no one is playing this game. There must be a way to get this game more success.

Overall, I play this game on a daily basis because it is enjoying half of the time but that doesn't mean I'm completely happy with it or that I would recommend it. I think if enough changes and fixes are made in the future that this could actually be a whole lot more popular and enjoyable and that's why I'm giving it a thumbs up as if improvements are made, I would recommend it.

got this game cause it was on sell & my friends play it, well that's not happening anytime soon because the game won't load, there new update patch notes, they talk about the infinite black screens & how to fix them, well i did everything & still happening, at first it loaded after 5 mins but now not at all. i havent even played online just the tutorials, so please fix because it's been days trying to play, very letdown at my first impression, so please update the black screen load up so i can play or then that the game looks good, played good when i could & everything was good.

After many hours in the steam and discord version I'm sad to say this game just isn't fun anymore. A series of just bad balancing has ruined this game for me. Hopefully the game will be fun again in the future but as for now I won't be playing it anymore.

Do not waste your time on this game, it's a lost cause. The Devs don't know what the hell their're doing, and their trying to pay it off with microtransactions. This game is buggy and booty, keep your money in your pocket.

I think this game has good potential, but in the current state I can't recommend it.

- Ping is not shown in lobby, so you get in a match and you realize everyone has over 300 ping making the game totally unplayable with everyone teleporting around, and if you leave, nobody will join your teammates and so they will be permanently left with 1 less teammate...

- Quite unbalanced mechanics, I see the Strangler and the Giant always throwing survivors on a Trap (which they can spawn 5 of them in the map) and so after throw them there they can easily kill them with impunity as they can execute them right there and become inmune to damage while doing so and then dissappear. (Also they evolve a shield and health recover after executing someone)

- Currently there are really low ammount of players in game so it really takes a while to start playing, and often you get in lobbies with really high ping.

- I do not consider this game has done too many changes since it was released on 18th December 2018, besides 1 new map, 1 new killer and making some perks which are consumed in use and need to repurcahse and a few skins for each character which are basically the same skin but with different colours. And I personally find many of the changes unbalanced as now killers are way too strong in health, making Killers like Strangler which required skill to not be caught and such, now they will just spawn traps to trhow someone on them and just spam punch and then execute and disappear, back then do such thing would cause the killer to die really quickly and I think it should have stayed that way as it required skill, instead of now killers are just so hard to eliminate and they still respawn after just 30 seconds, even if they are really tough.

Don't bother, with all of the recent changes any fun mechanic was removed and the most tedious of mechanics were buffed. Also, content locked behind pay-walls. The new map is pretty half baked on top of that, it's not even properly finished.

Really been enjoying the game lately on both sides fiend and survivor.

Pros
- Great graphics
- Replay Value
- Can play with friends
- Good voice acting
- Skins are nice and fun to grind for.
- Different classes and survivors
- No Microtransactions as of now

Cons
- Fair amount of bugs
- Bumping is horrible
- Fiend can get destroyed all game then get 3 kills camping gate
- Hard for new players to get into

The bumping is very bad and needs to be fixed, when two people are walking beside eachother on high ares mainly endgame you always get bumped around and die to falling damage which is extremely annoying.

For new players trying to get into the game look at the guide section there are some good guides that will help you get started, and help you understand.

Endgame is controversial when you have a minute and the killer is camping the exit gate especially on the gymnasium where he can trap up the whole hallway and camp on the traps so you can't disarm them and don't have enough time to kill him. I'm not sure what can be done here maybe a rework to the escape phase.

Overall I really enjoy this game and have been putting many hours into it. It has so much potential and the devs are great and very communicative. Let's hope chapter 2 is good and brings in new players.
