Leider ein weiteres beispiel dafür, dass das Geld wohl für die Lizenzrechte ausgegeben wurde anstatt in die entwicklung des spiels zu investieren. OK, wär schon schön mit Grave Digger und Konsorten zu fahren. AAAABER: Nicht in diesem Spiel. Kleinen Baum gestreift?

Controls feel wanky, the physics are rediculous. It's like driving on the moon.
Also, the decision not to have all cars and game modes available from the start is really annoying. The game makes you unnessecarily grind for everything. not fun.

The trucks just spin out of control for no good reason and because of this the entire game is frustrating to play. The only reason I've played it this long is because my three year old is obsessed with Monster trucks, but even he finds it frustrating after a while.

https://store.steampowered.com/curator/40795588/ for more reviews like this.

When I was a young child Monster Jam was my life. Dennis Anderson, Tom Meents, Jimmy Creten and Scott Hartsock were my idols growing up. I watched every event on TV with my dad and played all the games on the DS, Wii, and Xbox 360. Those games were some of my fondest memories I had gaming as a child. As I grew older I stopped following the sport and saw this game on Fanatical for 75% off. I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane and revisit some childhood memories and check out the newest and greatest monster trucks. Boy oh boy did this game disappoint me.

I'll start with the good. The game looks and sounds great for this type of game. The trucks have a good sound to them and the way your truck leaves paths in the mud, and the way the panels fall off as you take damage, it's all satisfying. The stadiums look fine but aren't anything special. The trucks themselves all look great. The colors pop and in some races, mud will cover your truck the more you drive it. The soundtrack is pretty decent as well, and the music get you hyped up for some races. The truck selection as far as I can tell with my limited knowledge of the current Monster Jam scene is fine. There doesn't seem to be as many lesser known trucks as some of the older games had but the big ones all seem to be there. Sadly though, that's where the positives end.

This game is so much more frustrating to play then it has any right to. The physics in this game genuinely ruin this game. They are so loose and jank that it baffles me how this game was approved for release by anyone. Your truck has 0 weight to it at all. You graze a bump at any speed over a slow crawl and your car will do about 10 flips, and 15 summersaults. I wish I was over exaggerating but sadly I am not. The physics in this game make controlling your truck an absolute nightmare. I spent more time trying to get my truck back on all 4 wheels then I did actually driving it I think. The campaign consists of you doing a rotation of head to head races, free styles, and the worst of them all.... the two wheel combo challenges. These things must've been programmed by someone who hates fun because they are not fun at all. The physics ruin any chance of them being fun since you can't put together a combo at all since you spent all your time either flipped upside down, or flying through the air like a bird with one wing. The races range from stupidly easy to stupidly difficult. There's no inbetween. Some of the races in the campaign I'm convinced are unbeatable. The freestyles turn into getting lucky and praying the physics are on your side. The campaign is just 100+ of these challenges. Sadly this game had a lot of potential but it turns out to just be a frustrating mess that isn't fun to play which is a real shame since the older and much better games can't be found on Steam.

Pros
- Its fun
- Good selection of trucks
- Trucks all look fantastic
- Nice amount of stadiums that have unique track and freestyle courses
- Free roam has collectibles and challenges
- I love tournaments. Both career modes use the tournament system 16 total trucks 8 per side.
- Good amount of hours if you want to 100% it. Otherwise around 10ish hours.

Neutral
- Sort of a sim sort of arcade. Leans more towards arcade
- The environment graphics are just ok

Cons
- If you are leading in points throughout your career the truck who has the 2nd most points will never be taken over by the 3rd or 4th place truck. Its a cheap game mechanic to keep one truck close to you in points
- During the races, even if you are well in the lead, there will be truck sounds as if they are right behind you.
- The music is subjectively terrible. Better than rap at least I guess.
- The narrator voice who teaches you about the game is really bad
- Some of the text is yellow on gray or yellow on white thus becoming illegible
- An occasional stutter here and there while the map screen is a constant stutter

I'd say this game is like pulling teeth, but at least getting your teeth pulled doesn't take this long. It's more like being stuck in Purgatory. There's a lot of potential in the way the vehicles handle (I actually like the arcade physics) but the arena events are such a slog. They're either impossibly difficult or impossibly easy and I found myself playing only because I wanted to unlock everything, not because I was having any fun. The more open world races are actually a lot of fun, but there's only like 3 or 4 of them in the first event of career mode. After that you're sentenced to the arena as a punishment for completing the first event. If they had only focused on the races, this game would have been a lot better. I'm not even interested in the sequel due to how much of a pain the arena events were in this game. 1/5 stars.

I'm really glad I only paid 5 dollars for this game. Physics are so awful, the game is actually frustrating to play. Once the trucks are upgraded towards the end of career mode, specifically in Freestyle mode, they're absolutely uncontrollable and infuriating to drive. Really disappointed in this one.

Monster Jam Steel Titans for a game itself is not a bad game, however, the physics are really whacky at times and the trucks may not work as they would in real life, however, over all most modes can be beaten with a few tricks here and there and the game is quite entertaining. The overall play is wonderful, it give you a great feel, but as said before, its a game out and out. Many different trucks to unlock via game play and building up points, at the time of writing this review I have 13.1 hours on record already and I just keep rolling through races and freestyles, the two wheel challenges are a little tricky at times, but all in all its not a bad game to have, especially if you can get it and the expansion items on sale, game cost me total under 8 bucks and boy, that felt like money well spent so far. - Dark

P.S. - I play with both a keyboard and an XBox One controller and both a manageable, side note, you cannot configure controls for say an X-Arcade Tankstick.

Great graphics and it's fun to go off-road with a monster truck, but if you played Maximum Destruction as a kid and are looking to relive that you will be severely underwhelmed. Rally races are fun, but what isn't fun are multiple series of time lap races and trying to drive on two wheels. Let us run over cars and destroy other trucks! At least give more style in taking out other racers. The skeleton is here for a great game, but there is no meat.

I would also like to add the game crashes about every 20 minutes.

This game was fun for what it was. Enjoyed the art style and little details in presentation. The damage to the truck bodies was fun to see and the dirt degradation in arena mode was a nice touch.

Played through most of the championship series, sometimes a little repetitive but fun. Physics definitely not super realistic but work well enough as I wasn't expecting a simulation here. Looking forward to MJST2.

Got this game to play with my son. The physics started off bad and after updates are just horrible. It's like the developers couldn't decide on realism or arcade-like and just decided to choose a pile of crap.

The only pro to this game is that my son is too young to tell how garbage this game is.

Monster Jam Steel Titans is a colourful arcade racing game with a horrible physics

,
where 25% go for actual racing and 75% for arena stunts. Combine these two and you may (or may not!) enjoy the game.

The racing parts are unusually simple. One mode only - be the first truck to reach checkpoints.
Your path will lie through woods, dirt roads, canyons, or in later career sections - in circled arenas.
What's the catch? Slightest - I underline it - SLIGHTEST turn, or a log, stone, whatever really - will send your car flipping, flying, spinning off course.

Situation goes 100 times worse in the stunts mode, which is the main focus of MJST.
You need to perform backflips, two wheels rides, chain up combos to out score opponents.
But how the heck are you supposed to do it, if:
a) driving at the slowest speed,
b) even surface with all 4-wheels,
INSTANTLY ruins your combo and your truck becomes possessed, insanely twitching and whirling around?!

I'll tell you how. Don't even try to build up a perfect combo. Don't try to be precise and be on time to beat it.
Instead, go ape and drive like a lunatic! Worked for me, lol.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2385912558

Deliberately ruining combos and stunts somehow does the trick - you get 10x multiplier, various flips and jumps, resulting in highest score done in the short time.

Apart from the career mode, you can free roam in an open map (forest area, canyons and desert).
The only thing to do there: collect yellow triangles (only needed for the achievement) and... that's it.
Well, those will keep you busy for couple hours, for some you need to find a suitable hill to ramp on, for others - descend into a hidden corner of a map.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2385914290

MJST is a short game, which could have been improved with coop. Well, not in this title.
Soundtrack is somewhat light instrumental w/o kick in energy. Where's beef?
Nevertheless, I'm glad I played MJST and happy to recommend it as a quickie racing arcade :D

The force feedback for the wheel is the sloppiest I've seen in a game released recently. Wheel violently vibrate every time you accelerate and every time you break, enough to make you worry about the health of your wheel. No power steering in the game so all trucks are driven like yachts, and trucks are super bouncy, like cartoonish bouncy which gets obnoxious pretty quickly. I would not recommend this game, especially for the 30 they are asking for. Monster Jam for the Wii is a much better game.

I was excited for this game, waiting for its steep price to come down, and as soon as I got it...
I was very disappointed.

Graphics are meh
Trucks are meh
The size of these trucks are not to the right scale like the actual shows.
Customization blows goat nuts
Avoid this game at all costs, imo.

Game sucks. Boring. Nothing exciting. Computer AI is on superhard no matter what, they drive perfectly. The trucks you get flip over from a basic turn. It's very disturbing the price of this game usually sits at.

Done! Wish I could get my money back!

Boring and awkward. If you want a real monster truck driving experience, download BeamNG.drive and go to beam-monsters.com. I don't think that most people care about the racing part of the game, they just want to drive around a realistic monster truck and the Unreal engine just isn't made for that kind of physics.

I originally wanted this game because I felt nostalgic about the old monster jam games I used to play on my Xbox 360. If you are looking for that kind of experience I don't feel like this game gives me that same experience. They seem like they are just trying to make money off of the Monster Jam name (seems kind of obvious now that I think about it). If it's on sale and you really want it is the only time I would maybe recommend this game but DO NOT pay full price. This is just a complete waist of money.

this is absolute dogshit, don't get this, please do yourself a favor, don't get this.

Way to get currency is repetitive, physics are not realistic at all (hell, monster jam urban assault (2008) has more realistic physics), and your game save will corrupt after unlocking half the trucks available.

Battlegrounds was bad. Crush It was the worse than Big Rigs. This game, is actually half decent. For a monster truck game, it's not bad at all. Although if you don't mind old games, I'd highly recommend MTM2 (Monster Truck Madness 2). It's old as heck, but it's abandonware that you basically find anywhere. Steel Titans is fine, but if you want the most fun monster truck game, go look for MTM2

Pro’s

+ Really good car handling, the duel joy cons makes for some epic driving.
+ Racing is the most fun due to the handling.
+ Race mode and Waypoint mode, these are the most fun modes in the game.
+ After each race you get put into this Free Roam area.
+ Cool free roam area that you unlock bigger chunks by career progression.
+ Can improve truck stats

Cons

- If you hit a tree the game bugs out and flings you away tumbling.
- If you hit a wall it bugs out and flings you, this makes the arena & combo stuff super annoying to do.
- Dumb AI that gets annoying real quick.
- Lack of content.
- No customization.

Do you recommend this game?

At full price definitely not. At 10€ and under yeah.
There is some fun to have. But after 30 min you start to notice all the small things that are bad about the game, and it adds up thus getting annoyed.

The driving and controlling of the trucks is epic, I wish there was a game with these driving controls and style and have it a full on racer.

Definitely. After reading through the reviews I decided to get the game. The people over 5+ hours into the game, had a pretty accurate depiction. Very much like the regulation Monster Jam, with the head to head races and freestyle events. It can get repetitive, which I agree with, but its not a game meant to sit down and play hours for. Its a game meant to kill free time. The open world is probably the best part of the game and reminds me of ATV off-road fury

Good bit of fun. My 3 year old son loves it. Very basic and feels like a re-skinned MX Vs ATV. Very easy game even on the harder difficulties but does have some challenging moments and you can pull off some cool stunts. If you get a good price it can be a good little time killer.

Alright im going to be honest here, and just tell it like it is. i think the concept is cool, but ive seen a lot of games overlook these common faults and i think its not bad to give my opinion sometimes. I really hate it when a race game really kicks ass and then when your racing the camera angle is lacking a higher up angled down option, leaving you to look right at the back of the car instead of the road up ahead, i cant really get the feeling that i want from the gameplay.

Another thing, the usage of rhythms on a dirt track are always a fool-proof way to make a game fun, but i really hate it when the rhythms are totally out of time and all you can do is slow-poke it over them or else you end up landing on the front forever and you end up slowing down anyway. the slow leagues at the beginning need their own rhythms. Just add extra bumps when its a straight and weve got our speed up.i had trouble hitting the brakes to tip the truck down also, every time i do that it torques down the tires and i have to lose speed upon landing. Sweet landing but it demands all my speed. im gettin no rhythms here.

i havent played the whole game yet but i hope you can simply crush cars in a stadium like a real monster truck rally. if not then thats just a shame. its what this is all about. Also, why do we have to go to a default arena and drive the truck around when we need the main menu? Thats just going to waste hours of load time waiting for the menu. i see that i might want to drive up to the driver training door and start training but htat can be done at the main menu. if it were an actual open world game (i.e. Test Drive Unlimited 2) we could use the drive up style without a main menu, but its not. if it aint broke dont fix it. lol.
Another good example for you is Thunder Truck Rally, from psx. Thats a real open world monster truck game and one of a kind. the Reflections dev really focused on gameplay there. That game set the bar for monster truck games in 3d. If you havent played it give it a shot.

I like the game but honestly; I want to see focus on gameplay instead of a flashy showboat approach. when its released on a console it will really make or break the sales. The new hardware and software for pcs has really got devs and programmers sidetracking trying to use the new software every time it comes out. The engine was fine already, back to the gameplay please Developers need to get more done spending less time. like they used to when it was psx. thats my only complaint. memorize the creator tools and dont switch so much. most gamers are actually dumbing down their video settings just to run the games. We're lucky games even run.

All in all, a good game to play, just get ready for small faults and a slight lack of fun in the gameplay.

Graphics are nice, music could be better, physics and realism is somewhat wonky, no Steam Workshop available for ongoing content, and no type of multi-player offered. All this makes it a game I will play for a bit and probably set aside forever after that. I was truly hoping this would have turned out to be the 21st century answer to Monster Truck Madness. I really wanted to love this.
