Game seems very fun at first with a lot of mechanics, my problem was that it is almost as if it was made to be the most annoying possible:
  • Each race has their own specific demands, OK, but elves like it clean, orcs like it dirty, OK so far. But you can't assign the level or clean in each room, so you have to uncheck / check from time to time to clean it to maintain an average level of clean. Doing that in each room is super annoying. Same with work environment, you need elf and orc cooks, but can't assign a race to a room.
  • I've recruited a few dwarves to make some tools and sell them, I've a riot due to that. Sounds fun, annoying when I have to recruit again several employes, that I haven't seen leaving.
  • The purpose is to make money, I got that, and it's fun. But they are several mechanics, AGAIN, that makes it tricky such as opening forcefully the floors (each floor cost more money per week), and you can't deactivate them. Why making it that way?!

And I guess that the story was made to be fun, at the end that's just annoying dialogues, that you might have to skip in rush because the game doesn't pause while playing them.

I would definitely not recommend this game, there are a bunch of things that make it very appealing and could have been amazing, but it ends up just being frustrating due to huge amount of bothersome mechanics.

As others have mentioned, NPC AI is an issue in the game that ultimately ruins the experience and makes it unplayable. Once you get to a certain minion count, and more than one floor, you'll start running into issues with your minions quitting because of "unmet needs" or not getting paid. It's not due to a lack of gold in the bank, or a lack of bankers to hand out pay, it's that the bankers need to eat, crap, have fun, etc, and despite having all of those amenities nearby, a big chunk of their day is taken up by that. This leads to them being away from the bank desk, lines forming, npcs beginning to quit due to lack of pay. Then, even if they get paid after standing in line at the bank, they end up quitting because it takes them too long to get to the bathroom, go eat, or whatever. Next thing you know, some vital npcs have quit and it wasn't broadcast to you, so their services are gone and more people quit due to lack of cooks, bankers, whatever.

In my game I have made an effort to have all of the rooms present and populated on each floor, and adequate staffing to provide services. Eventually it just breaks down though, and that's with me only having 40 minions and 2 open floors (I've somehow unlocked floors 3 and 4, but refuse to build stairs to them since all it does is open you to raids from the upstairs balconies as well.

Another thing I dislike is the fact there is no "hallway" or "corridor" room to build. Hallways end up being the absence of another room, but you can't order the npc maids to clean them since they have no room interface. So you just have some really dirty looking paths between clean rooms. It's weird.

I was enjoying the game to an extent, and I'd recommend it when/if the AI issues are resolved.

I write this review with caution. Its a fun game akin to the evil genius series but ai pathfinding is almost absolutely broken. Minions will leave based upon their inability to satisfy themselves despite having plenty of places to do so. I had 3 humans get tired get hungry while asleep get bored while eating and get tired while having fun. They eventually all quit and you have to hire new ones because of the never ending loop. for whatever reason the ai just cannot find their way around the dungeon which is lethal to a game like this. hopefully pathfinding gets an update otherwise wait for patches first.

I unfortunately did not enjoy this game like I thought I would for many of the reasons some have posted already. The AI pathing is so ridiculously broken it's not even remotely funny. You can have DOUBLE the amount of amenities, requirements, and luxuries than whatever your pathetic little minions want. But you will still have MASS layoffs cause they somehow magically can't find one of your 40+ latrines or 30+ beds when you only have 20-30 minions total. Yeah that makes sense.

Not to mention just to get into the "meat" or actually see the basics of the game and past the hand-holdy tutorial stuff? You literally HAVE to play MORE than 2 hours, or do literally everything from the very very beginning on 3x+ times speed and just hope you have an obnoxiously high APM and know exactly what you're clicking on, and exactly where everything is down to the single tile adjustments. Yeah, ok.

I want a refund for this and I can't get it, so figured I'd try to help anyone else out in the same boat before y'all make the mistake I did. It's a cool concept, maybe it'll be better if they can make the AI not completely braindead even though you packed everything on one floor so it shouldn't even be that hard for them to find the things they want cause it's ALL RIGHT THERE, but hey, whatever, right? It's cool. I'll just be stuck with this game I don't want and barely went over the timer for by 2 hours because I wanted to finish the tutorial and even then I still had UI options and rooms/minions locked and unavailable by the time I finally stopped and tried to refund request. But. It's. Cool. I. Guess. :)

Wait for a sale or until they add more quality of life changes. It plays well and nice at first. But leaves a lot to be desired as the game progresses.

You cant directly control your minions or slap them to make them work harder. This becomes a huge problem when you get attacked and you have to make sure you use the chicken alarm or else your guards never come to protect the area. Paying them is also a huge pain in the ass because the dwarfs are so slow at paying your minions they wait in line so long they don't get paid so they just leave. It also is counter intuitive that the humans and elf minions hate dwarfs but rely on the dwarfs to pay them. I only had like 4-6 dwarfs and all the humans and elves started going on strike which was really annoying.

Their expectations are also very lackluster in detail. It doesnt actually tell you what their needs or expectations are. Just shows 1-5 stars. Which is very vague and hard to tell if your meeting their needs or not. And you wont know unless they quit.

The game is also lacking in "wargear" and "skills" for your minions. They dont seem to be doing anything different as they level up. Other than becoming tankier I guess. Would be nice to equip them with better weapons and amour. Without being able to customize their gear it doesn't feel like its "your" dungeon/army at all. And makes you not really feel attached to guards that die. You also dont even get healers until later which sucks.

The game is very streamlined and straight forward with a lacking pit of depth. You also cant customize their food that they eat, their pay they receive, or any of their personal belongings. You also cant manage their time. Which means you cant customize their work and resting phases. Sometimes they will get tired and just go to sleep even when your being attacked. Its like the minions have no sense of urgency. The game doesnt even have a guard post building so you can station them at the door.

Lack of proper notifications is also very bad. All you hear is the stupid chicken. They should of added voice lines to the Dungeon Master or the Steward and have them actually tell you when you are being attacked, when people are on strike, when people are not happy, when people are dirty, etc. Its just chicken going bawk bawk bawk and thats it. Very annoying. It would of been better for the steward to just tell me that the tower was under attack.

This game desperately needs a lot of quality of life changes.

It's a thumb's up* for me.

*As of this review there are some pretty hefty path finding / AI issues that contribute to minions not doing their jobs or satisfying their various needs, which can lead to abrupt mass minion quitting. The foundation of the game is fun enough that it still warrants a positive review, but buyer beware that until these issues are remedied the longer the game goes the more frustrating and compounded those issues become.

Fun however, be SUPER careful placing rooms, making an accidental duplicate, etc. Once created you literally cannot remove the room. So, you are stuck with it taking up valuable space forever. Other than that huge a$$ oversight I would recommend the game. Maybe pass until they come up with some sort of fix for the issue.

Great game! Definitly worth the price. fun way to build, more floors then one in your tower, raids and a lot more! The game isn't to hard but also not to easy. It's goofy and fun and I highly recommend it!

A dungeon simulation game eh?

I've played a lot of these and half the time they either miss the point entirely or they make it too damn un-user friendly that it's just no fun.

But I can say that I actually liked this game. Is it next gen or amazing? Nah. But it's still a good little game. Hell at the very least it does what it sets out to do which alone gets it that thumbs up.

At time of writing this there aren't any other reviews out there but that's okay. Let me make this simple.

-It didn't have any game breaking bugs or glitches.
-It has a story campaign mode
-It has a good tutorial
-It has interesting gameplay
-It's put together rather well
-It's fun
-It's worth it's asking price.

If you're looking for a new dungeon simulation game, this is a pretty safe bet. It's "comedy" is kinda lacking and can be cringe at times, but it's story, it's gameplay, it's user friendliness and it's length and replayability along with other overall content is enjoyable and fun enough. So it's worth it's price, it's not awful, and it's another dungeon simulator. Let that be your judge.
