Unfinished garbage. If you're like me and you just wanna play as the characters and stuff then play this. If you want a good fighting game DON'T buy this game. It feels like it took a month to develop this. The home screen sucks, the wanted posters are an interesting idea but they just keep recycling the same posters and it gets boring. The devs spent more time on making all the female characters have boob physics, ripped clothes, and bathing suits than on an actual game. In the campaign the voices are out of sync and robotic, some of the missions are stupidly impossible. The combat pisses me off more than anything. The bots just do the same thing over and over due to poor programming and blocking should just be removed. You're literally discouraged from using anything except square, as soon as you try to do something cool you get half your health shredded by that stupid thing Buggy keeps doing. Buy it if you want One Piece characters but don't expect a fun game.

It's great for fighting, it starts quite far into the story at the Arc of saving ace but it's an awesome game, The game has things called Chapters; these chapters are of different characters that you mainly play as in them, i highly recommend.

Oh man, if this ain't the greatest anime game ever. Zero lag between the audio and video, even on the lowest settings. Getting thrust straight into the action with zero tutorial is also a bonus. Now I can button mash without trying! Oh, and the level up UI, flawless. How did they know my favourite part of levelling was watching twenty characters' levelling info show up one after another, without being able to skip past it.
The only thing that makes me not like the game is that Ace is dead and yet still levels up. Kinda messed up.
(Disclaimer: This review is satire, do not buy this game full price. Or just don't buy the game and watch the anime instead.)

It's a fun game with a lot of fan service. That being said, the fights in story mode are incredibly unbalanced and the game is very defense oriented. So that might be a turn off for some people.
The online is dead, so if you want to get the most out of this game play it with friends.

It's a pretty fun fighting game. The issue is the barren online community. If you don't mind playing single player then this game is still great. The story covers the Marineford arc and does it fairly well, including images from the anime mixed in before a 3d cutscene which replays the key moments in the arc. The bounty system has you defeating random assortments of the One Piece characters in which you can use the rewarded Belli/Berri to purchase characters you wish to play as. Pretty fun game, decent roster.

I enjoy this game, or I did enjoy it until the massive difference in enemy damage and health that gives the AI a massive advantage made it very difficult to do much of anything. On top of that the AI also reads your button inputs far more then other other fighting game I have ever played making the experience that much more frustrating.
As far as actual story telling is concerned, it tells the story well, but if you are wanting to play through the story I suggest avoiding this one.

This game just really shows what a shame it was that Jump Force came out as bad as it did. This game was made before Jump Force by the same developers and just manages to be so much better. I don't know if it's because the game specifically focuses on One Piece which allowed for focusing on making all the mechanics revolve around that worlds lore or if they just had more time to get it right.
Either way this game has a definitive One Piece feel to it. Logia characters aren't invincible because of game balance but you can actually use their ability to have attacks pass through you. Black Beard has the ability to shut down his opponent's abilities just like his devil fruit in the show allows. Lots of tiny details making a character feel like they should makes this game thoroughly enjoyable.
That said as is the problem with many fighting games that are more then a year old it'll be hard to get people to play against unless you go searching outside of the game itself to find people. Still though if you can find a friend or someone willing to help who has the game, the game is easy to hit 100% completion on because the few multiplayer achievements take less then 10 minutes to get.

combat feels really clunky and online is dead. story only covers marineford arc and it's not even fun to watch the cutscenes because the sound delay is horrible. you might get some enjoyment out of this but the combat was much too clunky for me to wanna play it for more than 2 hours

- awesome animations
- love for detail / authenthic
- well-made for everyone and especially for One-Piece-Fans
- effects and chars look like the anime in high quality
- enough depth in gameplay, I personally would like even a little bit more

I'm a pretty casual gamer. I don't care about anything like the competitive viability of a game, or it's overall balancing. I much prefer to have a fun, casual experience, and I feel arena fighters give me that perfect feeling of casual fun (Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 and Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 are some of my favourite games), and since I began watching One Piece about a month ago I decided to pick this game up.
I've gotta say, this game is super fun and really faithful to the source material. Details such as attacks phasing through Smoker, Crocodile and Ace, and Eneru's electric attacks not working on Luffy put on a smile on my face.
There are lots of fun modes in this game, but by far my favourite thing to do is simply doing free battles. In free battles you can do up to 9v9, so you can include all the Straw Hat Pirates in your team if you desire.
Every character I've played so far has been extremely fun. From the fast-paced combat found with characters like Luffy and Ace, to the characters that require a more thought-out approach like Nami and Usopp, I've enjoyed playing as every single character and slowly learning the battle system. Unlike in most casual arena fighters, in this game I can feel myself getting better quite quickly as I learn the game.
Overall, it's a lot of fun for casual gamers like myself. If you're looking for a competitive title, this is not the one for you, but if you're a big One Piece fan looking to have some fun pitting their favourite characters against each other, this is the game for you!
