Ich kann die schlechten Rezensionen nicht verstehen. Nach 12,9 Stunden Spielzeit kann ich nicht sagen das es Probleme im Spiel gegeben hat. Ich finde das Spiel super und es macht sehr viel Spaß zu spielen.
Mehr davon wäre super :-)

Ich habe selten etwas schlechteres gespielt als dies hier.
Max 720p? Kein vollbild. Grafikeinstellungen werden nicht gespeichert.
Bei der steuerung wird einem schlecht.
Stimmen und animationen asynchron.
Die menüführung ist auch so ne sache für sich.
Wirkt wie ein schlechter mobileport eines alten games insgesamt.

Reiner Walking Simulator, Tiere Jagen ist einfach nur ein grauenhaft, die laufen schon weg wenn du sie nicht einmal siehst obwohl man schleicht, nicht zu empfehlen das kack spiel, ausser man wandert gerne.

Ufff, nach ca 1,5 Stunden auf einen Gamebreaking Bug gestossen.
Ich soll mit dem ATV was holen, bin jetzt zum Wirtshaus gefahren weil das Ziel zu dem ich fahren soll nicht wählbar ist. Jetzt bin ich im Gasthaus und kann nirgends mehr hinfahren. Der Wirt spricht nicht mit mir, weil ja das Auftrag noch offen ist. Eine Händlerin ist da, der hab ich ein Messer abgekauft. Jetzt geht nichts mehr. Ich bin im Wirtshaus gefangen. Da hab ich schon bessere EA-Titel gespielt. Schade, eine so tolle Idee so schlecht umzusetzen.

Absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Ich dachte zuerst dies wäre ein Early Access Titel aber nope die meinen das hier ernst.
Die Steuerung des Charakters ist grausig und nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Die Karte/Spielwelt sieht weitestgehend gleich aus. Die meisten Aktionen (Jagen, Angeln etc.) sind extrem langweilig. Optisch ist das Spiel eher mittelmäßig.
Es macht einfach keinen Spaß - dummes umherlaufen mit ner clunky Steuerung in einer langweiligen Welt.

Wirkt so als hätte man sich keine Mühe gegeben. Verstehe gar nicht warum 505 Games son Quatsch publiziert. Vor allem FUN Labs ....lol

Dieses Spiel ist rein auf Controllersteuerung ausgelegt, mit Maus und Tastatur nicht spielbar. Hab es nach einigen Minuten Spielzeit zurückgegeben.

Das Spiel ist an sich eine gute Idee. Aber die Bedürfnisse wie Hunger und Durst sinken einfach zu rapide im Verhältnis zu den verdammt geringen Ressourcen wie Wasser, Pilzen und Beeren. Und für was kann ich ein Beil/Axt herstellen, wenn man damit nicht einmal kleine Stöcke/Äste von den Bäumen schlagen kann ? Außerdem verlieren Lebensmittel zu schnell an Frische. Nachdem ich mir eine Lebensmittelvergiftung zugezogen hatte und dann weil ich nicht mal die für einen Magensud benötigten Ressourcen ( Berberitze und Sonnenhut ) rechtzeitig im Tumnus Valley gefunden habe, gestorben bin, habe ich nach zweimaligen Versuch das Spiel beendet. Ich werde es wohl auch erst nach einem Update mit entsprechenden Verbesserungen wieder spielen. Schade

Spaß ist was anderes. Mal ein Realistisches Survival zu erleben mit großer Openword scheint das hier nicht zu sein, auch wenn es das verspricht.

Zuerst das Positve.
Die Wasseranimation ist gelungen und die Landschaften in Bewegung schön anzusehen. Das Inventar ist hübsch anzusehen. Und man merkt das in dem Spiel liebe steckt. Doch wirkt es wie eine 6 Monate Frühgeburt von der man nun erwartet einen 100 Meterlauf zu absolvieren.
Nun zum negativen
Bleibt man allerdings stehen, sieht die Sache anders aus. Die Bäume wirken Leblos und steif. DIe Gräseranimationen sind auch nicht sehr schön.
Die Mausbewegungen sind Extrem schwerfällig. Egal wie sensible die Maus eingestellt ist.
man springt von einem Felsen, der vielleicht einen Meter hoch ist, und hat eine Gehirnerschütterung. Obgleich man auf den Füßen landete. Man bleibt in einem Steinkreis stecken, die Missionen dienen nicht dem Spielspaß.

Fazit
Es ist bisher einer der langweiligsten Survivalerlebnisse die ich je sah. Ich freute mich auf das Spiel, da ein solches Spiel ohne Zombies und Dinos schon lange mein Wunsch war. Doch die Videos und das was man im Vorfeld drüber lesen konnte, weckten nur Erwartungen die der Realität nicht stand hielten.
Obwohl die meisten Aspekte des Spiels Funktionieren, spielt es sich wie eine Alpha. Die Maussteuerung ist wohl das schlimmste. Knapp gefolgt vom Missionszwang. Der vielleicht weniger Zwang ist, doch so erscheint.
Die Grafik wäre vor 8-10 Jahren toll gewesen. Doch nun wirkt sie veraltet. Auch passiert in dem Spiel nicht viel. Es dauert lange, mal etwas anderes zu sehen, als Kosmetikinsekten.
Ich gebe den Spiel 4 von 10 Punkten

Die Idee ist super aber die Umsetzung ...

Story

Bei der Geschichte geht darum das man genug hat vom Leben in der Stadt und sich entschlossen hat ein Leben in der Wildnis zu wagen. Also rein in den Wohnwagen und auf ins Abenteuer. Als man dort ankommt geht man in das hiesige Lokal und bekommt gleich seinen ersten Auftrag. Als man dort ankommt baut man sich sein Lager auf macht sich ein Feuer und bereitet sein Abendessen vor. Als man nach dem schlafen aufwacht ist auch schon der hiesige Ranger da. Man hat sogut wie schon lange nicht mehr geschlafen und fühlt sich sehr wohl in der Wildnis. Soweit sogut ...

Gameplay, Grafik und Multiplayer

Jetzt kommen wir zu den Negativ Punkten. Das Gameplay, die Grafik und der angekündigte Multiplayer. Im allgemeinen gesehen wirkt das Spiel sehr unfertig und wäre lieber in den Early Access gegangen als gleich in den Full Release.

Steuerung

Die Steuerung ist wirklich nicht flüssig auch die Sounds nerven find ich, wenn die Einblendungen kommen z.B. Das trübt die Spielatmosphäre sehr. Als man sich das Beil und Messer geholt hat dachte ich okay machen wir ein paar Sträucher und Bäume klein aber nein falsch gedacht die sind nur dafür da z.B. das Lager zu bauen. Man muss die Baumstämme, Laub, Zweige usw alles vom Boden aufsammeln und kann seine Werkzeuge dafür nicht benutzen. Man rennt also die ganze Zeit rum und sucht das Gelände nach Zweigen ab, obwohl man auch einen Strauch den man vor der Nase hat dafür bearbeiten könnte. Da dachte ich mir dann jetzt reichts.

Grafik

Die Grafik sieht im allgemeinen sehr einfach aus leider nicht sehr realistisch. Im Hintergrund flackern die Bäume und Texturen sehr stark. Auch die Open World wirkt sehr generisch. Die Animationen wirken auch sehr holzern. Die Bewegung des Charakters wirkt sehr unpräzise grade auf der Jagd stelle ich mir das sehr störend vor.

Multiplayer

Tja nun zum Multiplayer, der nicht wirklich vorhanden ist bzw. man nicht viel gemeinsam machen kann. Man kann leider nur auf ein Tier jagen das man sich als Ziel setzt, danach ist die Koop Partie vorbei. Das ist sehr schade und für mich nicht wirklich sinnvoll. Ich habe gehofft das man zusammen auch die Story spielen kann, sich vielleicht zusammen an ein Lagerfeuer setzen kann zu und seine Beute von der heutigen Jagd zubereiten kann und vieles mehr.

Fazit

Ich kann jedem nur von dem Spiel abraten. Es wirkt sehr unfertig und das als Full Release.

Einfach nur Schrott. Ein riesen Versprechen etc. , aber Gameplay, Grafik... schade.

Ich muss ja sagen da das game gerade erst heraus gekommen ist und meine da seit 2010 games ehh unfertig heraus kommen ist es nicht das schlimmste bugs zu haben...klar habe jetzt nicht lange gespielt allerdings kann ich da ein paar sachen sagen Singleplayer = volles spiel Coop= einen Tier boss jagen ( das hat einer alleine hinn bekommen ) danach war die runde zu ende ..... soo nun zu den bugs und Einstellungen die einstellungen der Sensibilität Aim und camera sind sinnlos Bugs:man kann unter die map laufen ... auf einen server mit freunden spielen ist Glücksspiel XD usw kann ich nicht empfehlen (Errorrs)

Overall Verdict:
Open Country is fun survival game which has a lot of potential, but there are a large number of major bugs/glitches. Will wait to see if the next update will fix some of them. IMO, you should buy it only when it's on sale. Okay game overall.

I waited for this game to come out with excitement. The thought of a game where you could hunt, fish etc sounded wonderful.
However, this game is a total letdown. I do NOT recommend. waste of money.

As a game it has a good idea, but as execution it's bad. If it's to be a playable game it needs a full UI rework, mechanics rework, the map needs to be totally changed, animal AI needs more work.. All and all it is a good project pitch if anything, but not even an alpha as a game.

Seems fun and has good potential for messing around with a friend, but until co-op is stable and the person who joins the host doesn't continually crash then there isn't much to do except single player mode. Anyone know of a work around for the co-op issues?

if you like hunting and gathering with minimal stress, then this might be for you.

played many survival games (a fav genre) this is simple low stress and above all enjoyable. there is nothing trying to kill you (well almost).

you find your self in the wilds completeing tasks for the local hill billies, building camps, hunting to make coin, and upgrade your kit.

looks nice, simple game play, and has objectives, beyond just staying alive, really not sure its a pure survival game (at least not in the 8hr iv played).

complants: cant cut down trees even though you have and can craft an axe, can only collect fallen branches and logs, even though you are surrounded by trees. the crafting so far is quite limited compared to other similar games. the story dialogue is not great, but can be skipped with out impacting the game vplay.

but for a casual survival game to play alone or with friends (havent tried multi-player yet), i would recomend. just keep in mind its no SCUM, MIST, or ICARUS (just a couple on my fav list and all EA).

This game seems to be left they have not updated the game in 3 months. It wouldn't be so bad but there is just so much that still needs to be done. I love hunting games and when i seen this was open world i was happy but its not u are stuck to a path 90% of the time its not truly open world. There was a point where i went back to the lodge and i could not leave again so i had to start over at the save before that setting me way back its taken me a week to play 3 hours of this game.

To be honest i had high hopes for this game

This game looked like it was gonna be like one of the good old Cabela games but this game has been nothing but a disappointment crappy animations and the whole game just feels cheep i usually don't do reviews but this game was just so crappy that i figured i would do one to hopefully save someone the extra bit of cash and to avoid wasting almost four hours of there life like i have.

This is a game with a lot of potential. All those giving it negative reviews for bugs really should not buy early access games. I could not believe this game has moved to mostly negative. Do you people even know what a good game is? This is a good game. It is a flawed good game with bugs but if the devs fix the bugs it will be a good game with no flaws.

I've not played the game a long time but long enough to get a feel for the gameplay which is in my opinion plenty good enough for this type of game. I will return to the game soon enough.

I often support the small developer with their early access games, if the game is a type I like. Some of those games have gone on to become great games. But one thing for sure they won't become great games without sales and they won't get sales while people that can't see past the bugs buy early access.

I recommend this game to players that are willing to look beyond the bugs and wait for fixes. I don't recommend it to gamers that don't understand the concept of early access,

To those whinging about bugs. Did you report the bugs to the developer? These small devs need all the help we gamers can give them. If you come across a bug they will be grateful if you tell them about it.

I liked this game. But, it has so many bugs that I cannot continue. I have completely reinstalled the game 4 times now and started from the beginning each time to try and get past the point where it glitched out the first time. The issue seems to be with the Hunter becomes the Hunted mission. The original glitch started when I killed the wolf from this mission, before I actually started the mission. So, when I got the that point, It would not allow me to kill the wolf at all. I wasted a lot of ammo figuring this out. Also, when I got to the cave, blood everywhere, but no Jerry. So on this last play through, things were going pretty well. I got to that mission with less crashed than before, There is one wolf near the RV in the snow map, that it would not let me kill. But otherwise, it was playing better than before. The first clue that there is still a glitch is when I got to the lake. There is a fire, and the knife, and hatchet, but there is no camp. No sign of one. I did see the blood trail. I followed it and killed the wolf. I got to the cave, and NO JERRY! Still. I have played over 135 hours. They should not have released this if it glitches so bad, you cannot play through.

The game is very relaxing to me as i grew up in the country. This game is not for all people but if you want a game you can run thru the woods as listen to the animals and birds while finding new areas this is a good game. A few glitches but the developers seem to be working on it.

I decided to buy this and had to request a refund 40 minutes in. the idea is there and it seems like it could be a solid game but i had so many bugs in just the 40 minutes that i played, including one that stopped me from being able to actually play properly. I absolutely think this game might be cool in the future if a lot of work is put into it but as it is, its absolutely not worth your money. So many games do this genre better.

Do not buy this game for co-op, there is no story line.
Single-player is meh. Movement is very glitchy and unnatural.

The game has come quit a ways. I think in the end this will be worth it's price. it's always good to see people develop their game instead of taking the money and running. Nice update 1.0.0.2703 is a nice fix to some of the bugs. Happy Gaming...

massive bug on this game
-placing tent make anything holding in hands disappear
-fell through animals's hole down to map below
-stuck in rock area can't even move/walk
-player can't even jump over worm/bait this's issue really crappy can't go somewhere high place to avoid predator animal..
-this game give me mad than fun TT

I GIVE UP PLAYING THIS GAME. not recommended for this year (next year maybe when the developer solve all the issues). unplayable too many bugs losing all my equipment when put it in stash, 75% things in this game are unrealistic! im not even sure if the developer tried their own game before launching this, it's not even counted as a beta version. not worth the purchase at all.

the idea behind this game is good.

and that's it really, after they had the idea it went down hill from there. Quit after i had to ride the quad that literally made me sick to my stomach that's how bad the physics of the thing is. all the bugs were livable up till that point but that just nearly made me barf and it made me trow in the towel.

Hello Devs, I want to start by saying you did a excellent job with making this game. Everything is so detailed on the survival part, weather elements and graphics, and the sounds are on point. I love how you created the dog to do dog-like things throughout the game. Only thing is you forgot to add water to the dog because the dog needs water too. I think you did what Call of the Wild should have done. Keep up the great work and continue to add DLC to this game because i am enjoying this game alot. Thank you!

This game has a lot of potential, cool bush-crafting & addicting survival mechanics that can be a thrill to overcome. I would really like to see it thrive and grow. There are bug's and issues to be fixed... Open Country honestly should have been released in beta form (if it was i didn't know) to work out tweaks b4 open market. I hate to see a game with potential get a bad wrap and than overlooked by many... Please try it out and support devs, maybe the community could lift Open Country up so it can grow.

Sorry but this did not tick all the boxes for me!
Gameplay difficult and not fun to follow.
Such a shame as there is great potential.
Sadly promo videos and screenshots are misleading
Like many others I do not recommend it!

omg please fix this game, better yet why did they release this game when its nowhere near finish. Its a good game and a good concept but seriously so many bugs. I literally cant get past a mission because i need to use the ATVs but i literally every time i try to use it it becomes a trampoline or its made out or rubber. It literally killed me multiple times. I literally have to drive it backwards for it to work SOMETIMES and even still it flips out.

FINAL VERDICT: Pass on this until it is fixed, if that ever happens!

I can't recommend this game. I faced a game-breaking bug which stopped my progress (hence why there's only 91 minutes played). After completing the ATV quest where you deliver the supplies and then talk to the quest giver, I was completely locked out of the game. I couldn't leave the hub area nor could I do anything in the hub area (the lodge).

Even before that, this game had some serious issues. There were several pathing issues, the big one being that any log can block your path (so you forced to pick them up). Movement feels weird because it's based on where the mouse pointer is facing. There's no V-sync so my frame rates were variable in the 300-400 fps range. I noticed several pop-in issues. The animations look very janky as well.

The interactions are point and click. Using a rifle is weird because when you crouch down you go even lower when you aim and it's too low that you lose your line of sight to your hunt. All the interactions are very poor. The sound mix in this game is horrible. The VOs are all over the map as far as volume. Sometimes you can barely hear them, other times they are loud.

On the other hand, I was liking the missions and the different areas. Seems like it might be fun if it was all a smooth and polished experience. This MAY be a fun game in the future with updates, at least it's cheap. I got this on sale from a 3rd party website (it was $11 USD).

Rate 3.5/10. Can't recommend this game in its current state. Needs major updates.

Do yourself a favor and just no. Not worth the time to download and play. Go play the Hunter. Requesting a refund.

No graphic settings, bad anti aliasing, horrible pop in, input lag on movement, if you're gonna get this expect these to be a problem until they're fixed

Terrible game such a scam cant even connect to play with friends, cant change graphic settings game is awful, early access games are better than this. AWFUL

all the trees and grass is all blurry i cannot see nothing but blur in the distance aswell . no graphics settings so you can try fix any of it . the character camera angle is like 60 !!! so close up :( again this cannot be changed . cutsences at start of game have the womans voice and mans voice talking at sametime because the game has not registered what character we have chosen . lip sync is all over the place in cutscences , words dont match mouth movements .

im very upset at this stage , i was forward to starting a new adventure with friends but at this point its all most unplayable because all you can see is blurry trees and grass everywere you look and the camera angle omg wow RIp

ill test again at a later date when its had a few updates but for now holy moly this needs work

Ok I want to say that I usually test at least 2 hours before doing a review.

I run the game, first impression a very ugly menu (Ok that's fine) I try to move the mouse to change the settings etc. Impossible. You have to use the keyboard and space. 2021, seriously?

Okay, it's just the menu... Once in game I increase the sensitivity. I test, too slow. I put to the maximum, still very slow.

So I decided to give the game a chance anyway.

First arrived in the forest. Even with the graphics at maximum and in 2k. It's really not very pretty.

It's a hunting / survival game. So with a very slow sensitivity, not pretty graphics but really not and awful menus.

No thanks ... Too bad.
