Live The Horror

Trapped in an abandoned subway station filled with monsters from your worst nightmares, you can only count on your cold blood and your skills to survive. You might get a little help... or not. Throughout this short but intense immersive experience, thrilling cinematics and a variety of enemies will keep you on your toes. The realistic handling of weapons will add to the tension, as you try to think straight and manage your ammunition. Surviving Propagation VR is a challenge you will remember.

Use Your Skills

Study your enemy for weaknesses, analyze the situation and overcome your fear if you want to make it till the end.
Manage your weapons wisely. You carry two weapons, each with their own qualities :
- Use the handgun on your belt if you need precision, quick reload, or a light in the dark
- Use the shotgun on your back for a powerful short-range blast
Don't forget to reload whenever you catch your breath, or you will only be left with your fists to defend yourself in close combat.

Can You Beat The Game?

4 difficulty modes are available : Easy, Medium, Hard, and Nightmare.
Once you've finished the game, challenge yourself to a harder setting and see if you can make it!
Personal high score is locally saved. Can you beat your best score?

Propagation VR von WanadevStudio ist ein klassischer Survival-Horror Wave-Shooter.

Schon wieder einer? Diesmal sollen wir nur mit Gewehren und unseren Fäusten kämpfen. Mal wieder gegen furchterregende Zombies und andere Mutanten. Mal sehen ob unser Blut in Wallung gerät, wie die Entwickler versprechen.

Diesmal stehen wir wie angeleimt in einer verlassenen richtig düsteren U-Bahn-Station. Das es so dunkel ist, ist schon etwas mulmig auch die eindringlichen Geräusche tragen dazu bei, dass ich mich etwas unsicher fühle. Die Grafik ist für einen Gratistitel bombastisch, die Animationen der verschiedenen Monster sehen alle wirklich sehr detailliert grauenhaft aus. Ich habe in einem Zombiespiel oft keine Angst, aber in Progagation kam es durchaus vor, dass ich mich unkomfortabel gefühlt habe, wenn die ekligen Zappler mir zu nahe kamen.

Die Steueuerung der Waffen ist sehr arcadelastig. Entweder wird mit einem Knopfdruck nachgeladen (vorher auswählbar) oder man zieht die Munition aus der Gürteltasche und steckt sie in die Waffe. Die Pistole muss nicht durchgeladen werden. Die Schrotflinte ist da schon etwas realistischer, sie muss nach jedem Schuss durchgeladen werden.
Allerdings hört sich die Pistole an, als hätte sie einen Schallschutz, der nicht vorhanden ist. Das ist Schade, denn die Pistole hat sich als die effektivere der beiden Waffen herausgestellt. Auch wenn ein gezielter Kopfschuss meist nicht ausreicht einen Zombie zu fällen. Dadurch und da sie sich so leise anhört, fühlt sich das Schießen an, wie mit einer Wasserspritzpistole.

Es stehen vier Schwierigkeitsmodi zur Verfügung, eine Runde des Wave-Shooters dauert ca. eine halbe Stunde Schweiß und Angst. Es gibt zum Ansporn, das Spiel öfter zu spielen eine persönliche Highscore.

Also im Grunde ist Propagation nur ein weitere Wave-Shooter, der beim Waffenhandling durchfällt dafür aber eine tolle Atmosphäre bietet.

Für ein gratis Horror Waveshooter in VR ist es echt gut gemacht. Es geht letzendlich im Highscores, also wäre eine mögliche Langzeitmotivation gegeben. Aber ein einmaliges Durchspielen lohnt sich schon und hey, es ist kostenlos.

Propagation VR has the ability to become a great VR game among the likes of Left 4 Dead, a triple a title is in the making here. I went in laughing that a wave shooter would freak me out, the game actually freaked me out with the zombie thing that spits blood and tries to bite you, that is a plus. I like the adrenaline rush of being scared! I made it to the spiders and my headset battery died plus I kept getting killed by the spiders so I set it aside to review. There is very little story but for a wave shooter they immerse you into the game with the characters they do provide, so I would have to say for an arcade wave shooter thats probably a test build, they did an outstanding job immersing you into the game making you feel like a lone survivor. 10/10 for a free game you cant complain it was beyond excelling. The voice acting and lines were great, how i would assume people would talk and act in a situation like that, they have a great baseline and can build on that. The combat was arcadey I would have liked to see the ability to drop my mag then reload but time constraints between waves and zombies rushing in a wave shooter probably made them decide to have an easier reload cause every second counts maybe they can implement a hardcore realism mode. I would have liked to see the option to grab and push zombies away. The major let down is that there is no locomotion, you are stationary and lack of weapons. I wanna feel like i'm being chased and rushing to get away from enemies; ducking, running, and getting into cover maybe shitting myself as i'm being chased by a group of those vicious blood spitting creatures, I want to scream like Homer Simpson as they rear around the corner or while i'm hiding. Maybe throw in some suspense and jump scares as i'm traversing the levels. I think fully automatic weapons would be beneficial to that play style. 7/10. Graphics were very well done 10/10. The audio was very well done hearing the enemies coming towards you really put an eerie feel to this game as I was frantically turning around to check every sound (no i don't use the smooth turn i actually turn my body feels more real to me) 10/10. This is definitley a game you can throw a friend in who has never played vr and have them blasting away frantically at zombies, an easy fun way to introduce vr to someone. I wouldn't call this game a survival game because it lacks the elements of eating, drinking, bandaging, looting and such. This is a wave shooter, This is a very well done introduction to something that has huge potential I really hope to see the developer build on this game and definitely start charging.

Very nice game, gun mechanics, zombies and NPCs. Wish there's a story based game to this. If there's one I will definitely buy it. Want more guns too and partner with NPCs to make the game more interesting. I think this game has a lot of potential.

It's free, functional, visually well done, and pretty fun. I'm bad at horror, and probably won't play this again, but I wholly appreciate what I was allowed to experience here.

I loved this game. It threw me off that this was a stand-in-a-spot shooter. But nonetheless, this game helped me ease into the world of VR. This was my very first VR game and it was sickening to play the first hour. Game play was amazing after that hour and the graphics and the way the enemies moved remind me so much of House of The Dead series; of course without being on a rail movement.

This game is really good and i was scared almost to death by it but there are some tweaks is should talk about.
I think that there were some features of the game that i think could've been in the game but weren't, like they could've added free roam but didn't they could've added more guns (which i cannot confirm that are are more than shotty and pistol) but didn't but in full honest opinion it is great and i believe that this game could blow up anytime soon so good luck developers your doing great.

Great game, and it's for free.

You know it's immersive when you try to kick a crawling zombie but hit your couch instead.

Shooting zombies, punching zombies as last line of defense ... I'm surprised myself that I haven't broken anything yet.
Nice visuals and sounds resulting in a nice atmosphere. If there was a full price game of this, I would definitely buy it.
I like the fact that no movement is involved, so you just stand your ground and don't have to fight motion sickness (if you are affected by it).

(This game shows me, how poorly designed the Reverb G2 controllers are :( ...)

I was doing well in this game until the giant spiders appeared. Fear paralyzed me and I, a grown man was left crying/pleading to giant spiders not to kill me. I ran out of ammo as they ambushed me. All I had left to defend myself were my uncoordinated fists which led me to punching my computer desk at full strength.

I ended up crying in pain on my cold tile floor.

Okay guys, here is my review:

Graphics: 4/5 stars.
Gameplay: 5/5 stars.
Cardio: 2/5 stars.
Immersion: 5/5 stars.

This game was the best ever VR experience i ever had, and i have a lot of VR games. You even feel you cant finish the game because of the scary it is.. and i tried it with the haptic vest and was impossible to finish because of how immersive it is!
Its free and its an excellent experience! i recommend this game, the only critic i can do is that i wish it could be longer, but indeed, my vest VR experience, period.

one hour of standing and shooting, one pistol, one shotgun. Which is fun for free, then I payed ten dollars for dlc that should have been included in the base game. Twas fun for one playthrough, I do not think i'll ever touch this again unless they add more weapons...

This is some high-quality stuff for being free. Great graphics, pretty terrifying zombie shooter. You stand in one place while shooting at incoming undead and other creepy creatures. One round on normal difficulty lasted me 30 minutes.

The only small criticism I can give is that some enemies feel a bit too bullet-spongy, and the fight with them drags out a bit too long. Other than that, it's a nice shooter.

I'm generally not a fan of these wave-defense type games. I probably wouldn't have payed to play this. But I would totally pay for a zombie shooter in this style, that allows me to move around the environment and also provides a bit of a plot. Put some inventory/survival mechanics on top of that and you have yourself a winner.

Short but fun and spooky game. It's absolutely worth it for the base game since it's free, but it was a lot of fun with the co-op dlc as well. As some others mentioned, it would be really cool to see more levels added to the game.

For a free vr game this is pretty stellar
Graphics are fantastic, gunplay felt satisfying and this game feels very tailored to VR. It's only about half an hour long but for the price of free can I complain? It's certainly worth a download. From what the devs are saying it looks like they're taking this as a framework for a fully fledged vr game, keep this game on your radar.

Very good horror type Vr game. One of my first. It definitely spooked me.
Great graphics, physics, etc.

Sadly have to pay for co-op, but I can understand.
There is another game similar to this that has co-op and is free. But it is no way look, sound, or feel as good as this game does.

This game is terrifying but in a good way, it's really scary to play this and you are always on edge if the zombie is coming to you and sometimes you need to take a few seconds to find out where the zombie is coming. If you are easily scared person this game will be a challenge to play because it's so realistic. It's one of the top 10 free VR game that I would recommend, you won't regret downloading and playing this.

Great game, better than some of the paid ones. However. There is a problem while attempting to exit the game. It doesn't actually exit. I have to force terminate the program in the task manager every time I finish the game.

I havent actually played for 17 hrs yet. it stayed running after closing so be sure you close it via task manager. That aside, the 25min I spent in game were amazing! It was my first REAL vr horror experience. My god, here I am (20 yrs old) whimpering in fear lol! The game is really cool and looks very real too. when a zombie rushes you it really makes you feel like you're gonna die. I wouldnt recommend this game to the feint-hearted however, as it could probably send someone into shock. In the end, if you're up to the task download and play this amazing game! Yes, I wish there were more than just a shotgun and pistol but they feel great.

The fact that this game is somehow free is amazing to me. Sure it's pretty short and can somewhat basic, but it looks and feels so good. The ambience is set really well and the aiming feels really nice. I hope that there is more to come in the future. As fun as it is, the 30-40 minute gameplay can get dull alone. Multiplayer is available for $10 and helps make the game even more fun, but I would recommend playing it for free solo first for both a better spooky experience and to get a feel for the game.

Very rudimentary horde shooter with only two weapons, unlimited ammo, and no movement. However, it's still rather short and sweet with decent shooting, visuals, and overall presentation. Quite worth the free ~45 minutes to play through at least once.

This game really scares me, even just loading the game I am terrified even though I have played through multiple times. I enjoy this games atmosphere a lot, it feels so real. Great VR game, probably one of my top picks in VR games. Wish I could try it with friends but none of my friends have VR.

Yup, definitely would recommend this game. It is made with really good quality which is surprising since it is a free game. The game (although is very short) could have a helluva lot more potential if there was more content to the game. At first I was very intimidated since the game has you stand still while zombies, spiders, or some other f'd up creature comes running at you. The graphics look very well done and if they released more content to the game, I would definitely take interest into getting back into it. Not many hours played in the game, and yet I've completed what I could. Love it!

This game is on a whole next level!
One of the BEST games I have tried, really got my pulse up and i was terrified! LOVED IT!
Playing wirelessly using the Oculus Quest 2, runs perfectly! and no wires make this so much better as you turn around a lot.

Just bought the DLC as well to support the creators (and of course will give it a try after I am done writing this review!)
10/10! will recommend this! Hope they make this into a much longer story!

One of the best free VR zombie shooter i have played to date. Fast paced zombie killing and the pistol and shotgun shoot very well. So why not try it's free :)

For a free game I dig it. I'm not one who usually gets the feeling of dread/paranoia but the atmosphere and sound design in this game absolutely nails it for me.

Definitely recommend checking this one out if you have a VR Headset. A shame it was so short, but I'm considering picking up the CO-OP DLC if I can get some friends to play.

This game is way too short and it's actually amazing. I feel like there can a campaign for it if they tried hard enough but so far its great. I wish you could move around though as well because standing still can be a little nerve racking.

A Tense, and Freaky Shooter

This free game, while short, and limited, is actually one of the best VR experiences I think I've had. For a free game that only takes about 30 to 45 minutes to beat, it definitely keeps you engaged, and on edge as you fight off hordes of the undead. All in a very impressive environment. I'd love to see more from this team.

This is how Resident Evil should look and feel in VR. Extraordinary experience, might be the BEST zombie/mutant shooter out there so far. Excellent work. I'm in for a full single player campaign.

Before I played this game I had depression, autism, no friends, no life, and a small pp. None of this has changed, but the game is pretty good.

Dark. Evil. Atmospheric. Looking forward to playing the Co-Op DLC.

One of the best VR games I've played. Well polished, very atmospheric and quite the challenge when you turn up the difficulty.
Very satisfying.
How this game is free is beyond me. This game is a must for VR users.

I really love this game, it got great graphics and beautiful immersion.. I was expecting that you could walk and stuff but you just stand there and survive rounds of zombies(and other creatures) which, disappointed me at the start but after playing a bit I can already recommend it and couldn't wait to review this game positively. The way of reloading is simple but still got the point of realism and I also like how events appear as time goes by. All of this for free, I will definitely play again soon, 10/10!!!

VR-Review on a Oculus Rift

A huge portion of the VR-Titles is a bunch of shooting gallery cash grabs that I don’t feel like are worth looking into as if you buy one of them you have mostly seen them all. They are of poor quality and look so dated that I feel I’m playing light gun shooters on my ps1(those are great tough). I’m really surprised that I found this game as it is finally something, I’ve been looking for in a VR game

Gameplay
The game is basically a gallery shooter that is beaten after 25 minutes or so. For the short amount of time, it offers an action-packed battle for your survival due to the good pacing of the games monster appearances.
You solely got a Pistol with a flashlight and a shotgun. Both have infinite ammo but must be reloaded. Pistol is usually for enemies far away or when you need to find enemies. Shotgun has a surprisingly good range and feels balanced well in that regard.

The game is set in around 3 stages offering each time different enemies. Generally speaking, it tries to be a horror game aswell and it succeeds a lot. I personally loved horror games and the game itself doesn’t really have jump scares solely zombies and other monsters creeping at you more or less slowly.

I have two issues with the game though. I feel like having checkpoints would help as the game can be physically exhausting for some people. Playing straight 20-30 minutes without being able to quit and come back later is a bit demanding. Another thing is after finishing the game once there is zero reason to comeback except for additional difficulties. There aren’t any challenges or achievements to unlock. Apparently, the developer still adds things to this game like coop but I can only review the game how it currently is.

VR with Rift and controls
Not only does the game control really well it also starts with a great tutorial. Reloading is done manually by inserting via motion controls a new clip into the magazine. Additionally, reloading with the shotgun is the same. You have to put inside each bullet at a time which can be really hectic and exhausting mentally and physically due to the gameplay. I love this probably most about the game. Also the shotgun is manual so it must be pumped each time after shooting.

Aesthetics
Graphically wise I think its one of the more impressive VR games out there. It looks surprisingly modern and doesn’t look like a game from two generations ago. Great!
Sound design wise its also fantastic, especially with environmental sounds and zombies slowly coming closer adding a lot of tension.

Story
I’m surprised that they bothered to add some sort of story and dialogue. Those scenes add for some downtime but end up to add to the tension at some point aswell.

Conclusion
I feel like they really made something impressive here. It was VR wise one of my favourite 20 minutes in any game. Especially how the horror elements work together with the hectic of using motion controls in a way that add to the tension a lot. I really wish they would make another sequel with the same kind of quality as the game is quite short and doesn’t have any additional content to make you come back to like challenges.

Very spooky, I beat it in around 35 mins. This game would be great if it had much more content, and if they added more guns like maybe an AK. For someone that's is into scary games i would 100% recommend this game. If it had more content it would be a 9/10 but right now this game sits at a 7/10. I enjoyed it so much.

Alright so, personally it didn't scare me all that much. BUT it did give me goose bumps while playing and I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who wants to have an actual good free game.

Kind of surprised by the quality considering its a free game. You really don't have anything to lose by getting this if you have a VR headset. Definitely stresses you out and has some jump scare moments.

I was genuinely surprised by how well the atmosphere was done for this game considering it was free. If you're just looking to try a game out with your VR this is the one to use. As a person that doesn't normally get lured into the game itself with the VR experience this one had me jumping, yelling, swearing, and laughing. Again, a must have experience.

Pretty scary at some points. Graphics are good. Hopefully they'll make a full game where you can walk around and play coop. As a free game, this plays better than most paid games.

This game had some of the best weapon controls I've ever encountered in VR. The atmosphere for the first half of the game as so could it had me screaming on live stream. I'd say the weakest part of the game is the final boss fight, just because it just wasn't scary to me, but it was definitely fun. Literally everything else in the game is terrifying and the sound scape... My God. I want a full game of this.

Whoever was the artistic director and sound engineer, they deserve their weight in gold. I'd love to see this level of detail in a game with free roaming, but MAN this was good. A wave shooter with a believable plot, great atmosphere and just... FUN. Man it's free there is no way you won't like it.

A MUST PLAY FOR VR! How is this game free to play?
This is a great horror shooter for VR, it combines survival horror and wave shooting action all into one sick package and it's free to play. This game legit deserves a full release!

Not a fan of horror games, movies, stories or anything with clowns. I wish that wasn't the case. The half hour i was able to play before impulsively ripping my headset off was awesome. Great game, will not play again.

Like many VR experiences, I consider this one a fantastic small bite of what VR has to offer. Its incredibly short, but it does exactly what it seeks to do: make you incredibly tense as you try to make each shot count before the undead can get too close to you to kill you. While to me, its not very replayable the game provides a variety of difficulties for you to challenge yourself so I appreciate the option.

All in all, if you are stepping into VR for the first time or are looking for a quick bite of immersive action, I strongly recommend throwing yourself and your friends or family into this one. Just be warned....Its not for the faint of heart.

Why is this free?? I've been charged £10 for shorter game that looked and played a hell of a lot worse that this! The lighting is great, the gun play is amazing and halfway through it changes from a straight up zombie shooter to a terrifying nerve jangling horror shooter. Please, please release a full game of this...shut up and take my money!
