(Chars / Npc's bleiben an Objekten hängen)

I'm gonna give it a thumb up even though it lacks and the development team forgot quickly about the game and it still feels unfinished.
The game itself is pretty okay, not great, not terrible. It would have had a huge potential but this is more of a marketing failure rather then a development one.

The Good:
- Love the theme and the idea behind it;
- One of the few true RTS games that was released in the last 5-10 years (send help)
- Beautiful sound design;
- Beautiful unit and environment design;
The Bad:
- The pathfinding is kinda bad, you will micro more than you should for situation where there shouldn't be any micro what so ever (sending a stack across the map, or collecting resources)
- The maps are unbalanced (where one enemy gets bottlenecked or doesn't have buildings around him)
- No multiplayer (very sad);

Mission 4 pretty much ruined the game for me, was way too punishing for the little you were given to work with, not in like a fun Dark Souls way where its possible but challenging, but in a way where its pretty much impossible for most players (looking at the achievements you can see less than 10% cleared this mission)

Great atmos in style of syndicate with extra neon but gameplay too repetitive and units act like blobs. Low resolution graphics in the guise of old school RTS. Too much clunky micro management whilst in combat.
Disjointed gameplay and poor AI also handicap this. Especially path finding , combat and absence of unit stance settings .
Not fun enough to want complete campaign (got half way) and no difficulty settings even on skirmish they seem nominal. Its a game it should be fun.
Has potential but not realised.

I5 - 4690
8G RAM
GEFORCE GTX 1050Ti

Ok.. pretty basic recommended requirements

So this peice of crap barely runs on my system, does not matter if its set to ultra or very low in the settings.. everything runs the same.. very choppy with frame rate studder.

Game is enjoyable, but holy f*ck the save system wtf guys? A short enjoyable game with no autosave on by default? You have to manually save and no option to delete saves so I have a library of saves.... auto save needs to be added per objective. Extremely frustrating and hated having get to the end lose one of the heroes and have to start the mission all over. and there aren't that many missions. Made a short and sweet campaign an extreme pain. Could really use a x2 speed option.

I enjoyed it some what. If you like conquest games with a story this might be for you.

I hit an issue early on where the Worshippers would not group up on one spot. Even with a double click. Which made them a tad bothersome. Crawler tactics work overly well. I suffered no zerg rush to challenge me. Maybe there was a zerg rush, but I was overly prepared for it. Not really sure. The second glitch was when I meet the Cult of the Fibonacci. The game froze. Could click to other units. Tried saving and released I don't care to.

If you read this far I have to say. THE STORY IS FANTASTIC! I am in it for this story. I personally want to see how the story ends. I'm a huge cyberpunk fan and this tickles my dystopian senses better than surfing real world news. I feel, I will give it a rest and come back to the game later.

At this time I would not suggest this game with out saying that I hit some technical issues.

Severely underrated; although unique in concept and style, Re-Legion doesn't shy away from the RTS formulae that have stood the test of time - it's an absolute pleasure to play and explore.

The cyber-dystopia setting alone is reason enough to give the campaign a play through.

They've done excellent work bringing this game to a new overhauled version. I like it fine before but it's even better now. The atmosphere and rather unique gameplay environment was right up my alley and the concept and setting are extremely great. the frequent updates and shift and attempt to listen to feedback and have brought much improvement. The game has great potential to be a major RTS contender and they do seem to be heading that way. I'm having a lot of fun playing and suffered no tech issues to speak of so far. I think they've squashed a lot of the bugs and problems that hindered the launch. The cult setup is a great one. Whilst you don't get much control in its creation, ideology, (hopefully more control in the future, you do get optional moral choices you can find that help shape its identity, as well as the wider story critique of ideology groups. Overall, it's more thematic than mechanical but immersion is in the eye of the beholder.

Recommended if you're looking for something a bit more unique than the typical rehash RTS. and seems to only be getting better.

RE-Legion leaves me with mixed feelings. On one hand I enjoyed my time playing the short 9 level campaign of this Syndicate Esque RTS, but only because I was able to ignore many of the issues I saw. The game just feels under cooked. From Graphics; voice acting; story; maps; path finding and frozen character animations to name but a few. I will recommend this cause I think there is fun to be had, but maybe in a sale or bundle.

Subscribe and share my divine teachings, new follower so that the blockchain never break. Thou shalt no interrupt its programming in any way or you might succumb to the virus of the right hand of our Great Administrator.

Seriously now, this is great looking RTS titles which drops the ressource gathering mechanic for the gathering follower mechanic. You might choose between three ways of teaching which apparently are the factions in this game. There's no base building whatsoever but the premise, game design and setting are definitely worth the money. New RTS titles which aren't remakes or remasters are pretty rare nowadays, so supporting them when they're good is crucial if you want to give incentive for the market to create some.

Considering it's on sale now, I'd definitely pick it up.

Multiplayer: [Not Rated]
Narrative: 4/10
Performance: 6/10
Replayability: 2/10

Conclusion:
Re-Legion has some interesting concepts and mechanics that are overshadowed by game breaking bugs, cringeworthy dialogue exchanges and the AI's unlimited resources. Not only does these greatly hinder the enjoyment of the story but prevents the potential of this being a great game.

Cool and interesting concept, but kinda bland and boring. Love the mix between cyberpunk and rts with a mix of cults for technology. Gets boring after some missions since it's the same thing over and over get control over that building then the next and so on.

Hope they come out with a sequel that improves on the story and gameplay.

It feels unfinished. It doesn't even have some of the most basic RTS features from back in the 90s, like being able to adjust game speed. It's very buggy, and it doesn't seem to consistently save my save games (which is NUTS; why isn't it updating the save file when I tell it to??) Had trouble with a lot of variability in audio quality, too.

Enemy having DPS units with invincibility while you have no access to them. Insta-fail when any minor hero dies, no autosave. No proper base defenses or base building. It's far from an RTS and certainly very far from an RTS that I could enjoy.

It looks like a great game, if a little short, unfortunately, it is buggy as hell and not only crashes, but seizes your whole system too. Very poor crash management.
No real help for crash issues from devs online other than 'download the microsoft pack' - still doesn't help!

I've gone for a refund, and that was 75% off too.
Not worth more than £5 unless they can add more content and fix the bugs. Oh - and learn how to make a simple crash to desktop rather than buggering up your entire system.

you are cyberpunk Muhammad/Elion with your Charming personality and hacking skills you have formed a cult with which you fight against the mega-corporations in cyberpunk jihad because who liked capitalism anyway

I'll break this review up into pros and cons for Simplicity sake

PRO

The concept is very interesting

artwork is fantastic

the music is excellent and catchy

CONS

the AI in charge of your troop movement is what I can only describe as an incredibly retarded child strung out on cocaine every time you tell your unit to move to any location they first run around in a circle within the area of where you told them to go from anywhere between 2 whole minutes to eternity which as you can imagine makes it really hard to attack enemies because for them to attack enemies they have to be stationary or within the process of attacking enemies and if they're too busy trying to figure out which way is up this only leads to assisted suicide with the help of enemies

there's no Squad management tool that you would expect in this type of game so your strategy mainly consists of throwing large groups of Highly unorganized troops at the enemy until eventually, they kill them all

I don't know what game engine this was made on though it looks really pretty.

Even on the lowest graphical settings your average playthrough will be had at a rocking one fps now I am willing to admit this could be the fact that my computer is about as advanced as a toaster but the frame rate also drops whenever it autosave

until they fix the aforementioned problems I can't recommend this game although if they fix these bugs I am more than willing to change this review

Re-Legion is an RTS game in which you convert citizens to fight by your side, battle enemies & explore many different areas. I would've given it a neutral review if possible.

[+] Good Sounds
[+] Decent Story

[-] Not that entertaining
[-] Not very fun Gameplay

I like the overall idea, the dystopian neon-clad cyberpunk world, the spin on resource management. Pathfinding is flaky, the AI is stupid, sometimes the frame rate tanks. But I could have lived with that. Unfortunately, the whole game is a buggy mess bordering on unplayable. 2 out of 3 save games do not load, pair this with random in-game crashes and you have a match made in hell. A waste of money and time.

It’s the future! It’s all dystopian and miserable and ridiculously influenced by BladeRunner. Governments have slowly been replaced by big corporations, large cities are coated in neon and people are gormless sheep. So raise a cult! Have people worship the tech and fight back against their commercial overlords. You’re not a rabble rousing warlord – you’re a prophet! Really try to jam in that pseudo-religion theme because, if you sell it hard enough, you might get away with the fact Re Legion is totally Syndicate dressed up.

This doesn’t have to be a bad thing and, for the most part, absolutely isn’t. Bullfrog’s seminal cyberpunk strategy action thingy is still brilliant decades later and anything that might help us forget that awful FPS reboot can only be considered a good thing. Re Legion wants to play things out in a more classical RTS vein, however. Both games provide you with finite resources for building up your unquestioning army; you need to recruit from the populace, turning the everyman wandering the streets into your own little harbinger of death.

In Syndicate you wiped minds and turned people into dribbling servitude. In Re Legion you convert them into your religion, and I’m not completely sure they’re not exactly the same thing. You do so under the command of the holy prophet (or Elion, if you’re blasphemous) who returns from a pointlessly short self-exile to immediately gain control of The Resistance. Not because he’s a tactical genius, and not through a cult of personality; more because everyone else is a moron. In the open stages, Elion appears stage left, gains the trust of wanted criminals with no struggle at all, and then decides to try and eliminate the mind control hub that turns the population into obedient consumer-obsessed zombies. This is hailed as an idea so manically brilliant that he is instantly hailed as a messenger of God.

Good concept - terrible execution

Pros
Unique Setting,
Interesting unit designs,
Good Soundtrack,
Somewhat interesting plot ideas.

Cons
Idiotic Mission design (especially mission 6)
Somewhat halfbaked overall plot that get progressively worse as the game goes on.
Not a very deep plot - wide as an ocean but deep as a puddle, as the saying goes.
If you look closely the maps are recycled often
Poor interface that lacks precision when that's what's needed most.

I want to give a special shout out to mission six which is like a list of everything that you shouldn't do with mission design. You start off with your base being undefended and no way of reaching it in time. Additionally you have crappy units to begin with which can't enable you to reach the base in time. In the end the only way the mission will be beaten is through sheer random luck and no skill. The mission designer for this and most of the previous missions should be replaced.

Re-Legion is the game, where the player should take the role of a prophet in a futuristic technocratic society. Gather your own army, start a revolution and defeat all the non - believers!

Pros:

+ Amazing cyberpunk setting with a dark atmosphere
+ Interesting RTS mechanics where you can convert regular citizens into powerful units
+ Futuristic neon decorations
+ Moral choices

Cons:

- Fails to unfold its potential
- Can often confuse the player with its objectives
- The game is simply filled with bugs and glitches
- Small locations to explore
- Crashes constantly from the main menu and if you reload your saves too often
- Audio is very weak and voice dubbing is simply unprofessional
- Units stuck all the time between invisible objects and walls
- Inability to choose difficulty which is a very weird decision for RTS game
- Outdated graphics

Have you ever felt like you found a really good game with an interesting setting and a promising story but in the end, after playing for a few hours you came to a conclusion that the game was developed by a completely wrong people? If the answer is positive, then you can totally understand my feelings about Re-Legion and how disappointed the person can be in such a situation.

Re-Legion is a game that has a very good idea in its core but, unfortunately, it fails to deliver the proper quality level to the player. I definitely can not recommend this game in its current state, when it’s simply filled with bugs and constant crashes, not to mention all other flaws here and there.

Story

The year is 2184. The whole world is already filled with cybernetics and robots, who replaced the humans and their labor has been depreciated. Most of these people are completely miserable creatures, who just exist on planet Earth, get their low salary and don’t have any hope for a bright future.

The protagonist of the game is Elion, a very charismatic guy who decides to become a new prophet for this lost nation and in circumstances like this one people are ready to join any religion, even the one which was created just a few hours ago.

The main goal of Elion is to create a powerful religious commune and start the revolution. He becomes more powerful by getting new followers and destroying the nonbelievers and he often puts in a position, where he has to make tough moral choices.

Gameplay

In this game, you have to conquer and defend the buildings the city using Elion himself, few of his friends and followers which can be created by simply right-clicking on the regular citizens. The game starts pretty easily at first and then it growths in large-scale battles, where you have to think how to rationally distribute your troops. Speaking of the difficulty - I was really surprised that this game doesn’t let you choose the difficulty that you wish to play. For me, it looks like a very bad decision that increases the threshold of entry, simply because the game can become a bit hard for the non-experienced RTS players.

You can’t build anything, because the game is fully focused on the idea of the cult, followers, and units that will do anything that you order. All these followers can be converted from simple citizens, but keep in mind that not everyone will be glad to join you. The ones who will refuse should be instantly killed.

At the beginning of the game, the player has to choose one of the three different Dogmas and as conceived by developers this should increase the game’s replayability. This choice will affect the abilities of your fraction and what your people will actually believe as well as unlock special skills and unit upgrades. This often happens by making moral choices when your decision will affect the new abilities for your units.

In Re-Legion you have to roam around the city and capture different buildings to earn credits and faith. You can gain faith by sending worshippers to your temples and sanctuary who will just produce it by simply staying there around. To earn credits, Elion has to lead his army and hack credit-related buildings and when it’s done leave hackers there to produce the credits. Both of these resources are needed to upgrade your units and buildings.

One of the most memorable mechanics of this game is a faith parameter that every single unit of yours has a second one besides the health. Every time you step on the hostile territory your units will become to lose faith in their Prophet and that’s where you need to start reading Sermons straight during the battles.

As you can see, Re-Legion has lots of interesting mechanics and it sounds like a great RTS that must be interesting to play. However, there are tons of problems in this title that prevents you from truly enjoying this game. One of the biggest issues of this game is control of your units, which is really uncomfortable and can confuse you from time to time. Your followers move very chaotically and can be stuck between the invisible walls, cars and other objects. And the funny thing is that first I though that it was some kind of a game mechanics that I was missing, but it turned out to be a simple bug.

The game takes up to ten seconds to save your progress, which is really weird and can ruin your experience, especially during the intense battles, when you want to make a quick save, hitting F5 button and continue to play. Instead of this game stucks for this ten seconds and then the camera just flies away from your units and you have to press Space button to center it again.

Probably the most annoying problem of this game is that it crashes every third-fourth time you load the game saves and it’s really something that you don’t wanna see in the game, especially with such price tag.

I even encountered a bug during one of the missions, where I had to assign a worshipper to the Temple and even after I did it the quest was never completed. Then I assigned three more worshippers but it still remained the same.

Graphics

Although the game looks pretty nice visually in terms of convincing futuristic decorations, the graphics still have a pretty outdated look. Some models of the game look like they have been dropped midway through the creation process.

Sound

Re-Legion has good futuristic tunes mixed with synthwave melodies, but when it comes to voice dubbing it’s really bad. Characters in this game sound really weird, especially Elion, the person who should terrify everyone with his convincing voice, speaks like a person with inhibited reaction.

Conclusion

Re-Legion definitely has very interesting game mechanics and a setting that can steal your heart, but unfortunately, it fails in terms of quality. It has a very interesting and a promising story at the start, but it never unfolds. Even when I was trying to close my eyes on all these issues and just enjoy the gameplay, it was hard to do this because of constants crashes and neverending bugs. I can’t recommend this at the current state and especially at this price.

Here's the thing, I really want to enjoy this game. I love the concept of the game without a doubt and purchased it without a second thought. But I am going to be refunding the game due to a couple aspects of the game that ruin it for me.

First is the inconsistant story/cutscenes which many of the other reviewers already mentioned. Audio/Subtitiles not matching, uneven story progression, character development either odd, rushed, or actually backtracking in some cases just so some other character can give you a mission.

Next is combat. By far the most annoying point of the combat is the AI. You have a mix of ranged/mellee units? Click on an enemy and watch as your melee units litterally run by the guy you click on so that everyone can be in range before they start attacking. Talking about combat one of the most jaring and immersion breaking points for me is the attack animations or lack there of for melee units. The damage that units will deal/recieve does not match the animations of most melee units.

The Minimap is a pain to look at when you trying to get a feel for whats going on with the color scheme of your buildings litterally being almost the same color of the map making it next to impossible to look at. And everytime you mouse over the minimap it expands automattically which sounds nice but when you are trying to select a specific spot on the map and all of a sudden it expands you have to reorient yourself to pick the point you want to move the camera.

The Economy is a mess for the most part with there being credits, faith, and individual units faith (or whatever you want to call it) most of the time there is no easy way to boost individual units faith unless your micromanage your main character to do sermons with one small group at a time. Then there is a max credit limit for some odd reason which just makes it so that if you take some time to build up if you get into a big fight and lose a lot of your expensive units you have to wait just as long as the first time to rebuild them which makes for a lot of hurry up and wait situations.

The UI also needs work as it is unnecessairly clunky and unwieldly.

I will keep an eye out for this game though and if it does get to a level which I can look past some of its story issues I will buy again but for now its just not for me.

First Impressions

I've only played for about 2 hours so i'm not writing it off yet but...

Its clearly unfinished and lacking major polish right now. The entire concept is brilliant. For those of you old enough to recall Syndicate Wars with the ability to gain followers to your cause this will feel very familiar and welcoming. The actual gameplay is great, the need to gain followers to your cult to sustain your troops is far better than simply building men in a barracks.

Unfortunately right now the gameplay is let down by a very unfinished game. Graphics are poor, controls are not fantastic and the UI is very clearly in need of much more polish. Troops lack an ability to patrol or guard areas which makes the later missions a real micro manage of flicking between each of the different points in the map you control in order to tell your followers what to do or make sure they are healing.

Buildings are useful and serve different purposes although the upgrade path for each of them is small and the lack of ability to place defensive structures to protect them other than very weak turrets is disappointing.

The upgrades for your leader however seem interesting and i've had fun using different techniques to take over neutral NPCs.

Actual missions seem very repetative so far, a case of capture this building, destroy this building etc. is going to get old way before the very short campaign of 9 missions is completed.

As a result the length of the game will struggle to top 7-8 hours at current pace.

Major disappointment is the fact that there is only one campaign available and no skirmish mode as well as the already confirmed lack of multiplayer. All of this supports the concern that the game is just not ready yet and despite its very reasonable price at launch there just isn't enough here to keep you playing once the missions become cut and paste.

Overall I was really looking forward to Re-Legion, I was very surprised when the launch date shifted from March to the end of January but now having played it this simply feels like a bit of a cash grab to get players in whilst they continue finishing off the content. Not the new RTS I was looking for and sad as a result
