Eine klare Empfehlung.

Remember Me
Klettern, Springen etc. kappt sehr gut, Das Kämpfen ebenfalls.

Remember Me
Jump & Run spanking game from 2013, at a very high level.
This game takes you to Neo-Paris. 2084
Personal memories can now be digitized, bought, sold and traded. The last vestiges of privacy and intimacy were swept away in an apparently logical consequence of the explosive growth of social networks at the beginning of the 21st century. The citizens themselves have accepted this surveillance society in return for the comfort that only intelligent technology can offer. This memory economy gives only a handful of people immense power over society.
This is the background to the game and also basically
exactly what the game is really about.
A totally broken world welcomes you and that with extremely good graphics, easily playable in 4K.
You are Nilin - an elite memory hunter with a questionable past. And unfortunately you are very limited in your actions. A linear game with no options to interact or even explore. A real shame because the game has a lot of potential to be an extraordinarily good game. But it is not...
It is worth another recommendation. Because of the good history and for those who like to beat themselves up in the area.
Climbing, jumping, etc. cuts very well, so does fighting.
But also here you have only minimal possibilities to influence the gameplay.
It should be noted here that the diary is very successful and provides a lot of information that you should also read.
Well, have fun with it or not. I myself can not really make a decision ... just take a look.

The game started really well. My mouth fell open, especially when I saw the memory swapping mechanic. However, there is a big problem in the game. If you want to enjoy this game, you should not get hung up on the feeling of hitting. Because the feeling of hitting is terrible or even nonexistent. There are no hits in the game. I don't understand how they managed this, but the game is really good, I loved it. Moving on to my ratings.

Game with Heavy Deus Ex vibes.

(I always asked for this!)
Population is inseparable with brain/memory augmentations.
Travel through divided society, mostly in homeless and abandoned areas, then climb up to futuristic city heights.

Very linear gameplay.
Lots of narrow progression with scripted guards' routes, with only one way(s) to bypass/hack/advance.
Even core element – memory correction – doesn’t affect anything. You literally can’t complete those episodes until you get them done right.

Fight mechanics is… one enemy focused.
You lose combo if start attacking a different npc. Don’t event hope for interesting chained attacks, encounters or fast punching similar to Batman’s, Rise Son of Rome, Mad Max.
However, you can slightly diversify your style by adding different elemental chain (+damage, regen health & +energy restore), but that’s a tiny drop.

Boss battles are great!
OMG, YES! Unlike multiple mediocre confronts (2-3 per level with turn group spawning enemies), bosses are challenging and require individual approach.
For some – QTE sequence, for others - learn the patterns and attack windows, the rest – beatable only via skills and augmentations. Oh, bosses have several stages as well!

p.s. Amazing menu music! :3

Resurrected this game after dropping it halfway many years ago, and had a blast finishing it. Lots of mixed reviews about this in general - but i really enjoyed it. The story was a little cliche yes, but great moments - especially the memory remixes really made you feel evil, in a way other games don't. The combat system was also fun with customisable combos and gadgets to use against different enemy types - very challenging on the hard difficulty.

Summary
- Very nice fighter focused action game with stunning visuals.
- Another entry for my 100% completion lists.
Plot
- Game is set in 2084, Neo-Paris. The world is very different and there is the new technology called Sensen where people memories can be altered, modified or even stolen and stored in a huge server. There are memory hunters, agents of Sensen, who possess these abilities, protecting Sensen.
- We play as Nilin, formerly strongest memory hunter who was imprisoned and her memory is partially confiscated and she is a high rank member of Errorists, a terrorist-like group founded by rebels committed to takedown Sensen to end the chaos it caused.
Gameplay/Controls
- Game is straightforward to the story progression. (No open-world, exploration etc.)
- Your primary weapons are your fists and kicks. Fighting style is based on simple combos that can be customized. (like XXX, YXYXYX, YYXXYY. X's and Y's are left and right mouse buttons.)
- I find dodge mechanics easy and high-rewarding, you can avoid a wave of enemies by simply dodging every second and there is no limitation for that.
- Controls can feel janky at first but I got used to it quickly, I had to change mouse sensivity though.
- You gain special abilities as you progress like stunning every enemy in AoE, possesing enemies to fight on your side
- Special abilities has to be earned to use by using combos efficiently.
- Like many fighter games, there are bosses. I like the boss designs, each boss requires different type and order of combos and special abilities to beat them.
- Optional collectibles are available for 100% completionists' sake and to increase stats like health bar, ability bar (drained each time a special ability used).
Visuals/Graphics
- For a 2013 game, visuals are very good.
- Character designs and voice acting is good.
Price/Worthiness
- It drops to very cheap price at sales, so wait for a steam sale.
Final Scoring
7/10

Third time trying to write a review for this, I just couldn't get it out of me the way I wanted. There is actually a lot to talk about here lots of highs and lows yet I just can't write down my thoughts without going into tangents about stuff that I've disliked. But let me try again, already knowing that the end result won't be different but whatever, I just give up.

The world design is great but it just feels like it got drowned under the works that the devs got inspired from. There are visual design elements that instantly remind me of The Fifth Element and Deus Ex: HR, most of the characters and the plot itself, at least for the most part, felt like not too subtle references to important historical events, philosophical texts and certain other works of fiction rather than being their own thing. Then on the gameplay front the fighting system feels like a shallow imitation of what Rocksteady did in the Batman: Arkham series, just spicing it up slightly with allowing you to create your own combos but like I've mentioned, it really has no depth, all you do is just pressing the same two buttons in different orders after all.

Boss fights seemingly had some potential but they just require you to figure out what you exactly need to do so there is no freedom, and the latter half of them felt like a chore and when you add the incredibly clunky camera and surprisingly unresponsive controls they become downright annoying. When she's fighting, our main character Nilin feels like she is fast nimble and flexible but when it comes to platforming -or if you can call those parts actually that- controlling her feels heavy. She absolutely does not jump, just skip around when it's not scripted for her to just leap from one place to another like she's weightless, then when she kicks or punches it is like lightning fast yet it takes a second for the game to register that I've actually pressed the button for those actions. One can argue that the devs tried to put down a strict rhythm for the game but to that I can say it's ends up just painfully limiting.

On the other hand the takedowns are so satisfying. They are dynamic, when you are close to a wall with an enemy, Nilin goes on and smashes the enemy's head towards it and then continues with the rest of her the animation and that's just one example, they almost always vary ever so slightly, not getting old, boasted with superb sound design. Other than that the overall idea of controlling memories, stealing them or manipulating them felt very creative, not the concept but the execution rather. Mixed with the puzzle element that it comes with, it becomes enriching and at least to me, morally complicated.

I feel like I can go on for so much longer but I have stop myself here, even I got annoyed by my whiny-ass at this point so I just want to end with some little nuance I've realized while playing the game. This is a game by Dontnod Entertainment, makers of the Life is Strange series. I haven't played any other installment other than the first game, however in that, you can sit down at various places and the main character goes on to think to herself about what has happened to that point, and how she felt about those events, and in this game in between each chapter you are presented with Nilin... Doing stuff? I guess, like walking around, kneeling, sitting down and stuff like that in a surreal holographic environment while thinking to herself in a similar manner. It was entertanining to see how they've practised the same design principle from an earlier title into their later work.

So yeah, my review is positive but just because the world design was great, the story and the conclusion was somewhat climactic, even while most of them were underused and underdeveloped, certain side characters were likable and their motives were understandable; I was able to feel for them on many occasions and the enemy and all character designs were also simply put, eye catching and to my liking. If those things don't interest you and you're in just for the gameplay, you can honestly just stay away at your leisure.

Was this game fun? Overall, yes. But it doesn't really deliver on its most enticing feature.

Throughout the already fairly short game, there are only 4 instances where you remix memories. The remixing mechanic is the only real reason to play this game and it barely exists.

The combat system is decent enough but it can't sustain the game through a fairly bland story with paper thin characters. I'd much rather play an adventure game where remixing is a mechanic than this game where you have to wade through its combat just to get to the real meat of the game's mechanics.

A hidden gem. Shame it did not get the recognition it deserves. Brilliant story, gorgeous setting, interesting characters. The combat is a bit shit but you get used to it. Wish it had gotten a sequel or had started a whole series. The voice acting is brilliant too. My only gripe right now is that on widescreen, the FOV is not great, however I can't hold that against the game as it's quite old now. One of the rare games I have actually finished, and I have a fair amount in my library. This is a game I still think about on the regular. It left an impact.

No I won't remember you

I can't really recommend this game. The story turns out to be mediocre at best. The first half of the story doesn't leave a good impression, but it was getting a little better later. I was thinking it was getting better but it really doesn't at the end. Memory remixes needed a better control system as it felt very tiring to move the mouse in clockwise/anti-clockwise direction several times to find glitches. The glitches could've been made more easier to identify. Also, the drag system felt very sluggish.

The game had a strictly linear setting. The combat techniques with perks were a cool idea but combat itself wasn't very enjoyable. Enemy designs were boring and some enemies like the shielder and particularly the invisible mobs were really annoying to deal with. Performance wasn't really solid, got few frame dips here and there and the game would automatically minimize at least once every time I booted it.

This is a mixed review - I think I want to like this game more than it lets me frequently. It *is* good, but there are some major flaws on the PC version for choppy cutscenes and occasional audio drop. The concept, 2013 artwork and main actor voice work is excellent. The story premise is compelling, if it does slip from it with woeful dialogue and terrible cliche plot stripping as the game progresses. There is a lot to like, and I can recommend it - however, the combat is a tad repetitive, even at lower difficulty. You can tell that there will be three waves at this point, two here and even though enemy models and attacks differ; you see them so regularly and combined so much that the distinction disappears entirely by the halfway point.
It is a short enough game, and that is a positive, as the repetitive nature of combat will be clear well before it wears out its welcome, but if you are an achievement hunter or special item explorer, you can revisit and improve levels aplenty. I don't think it is something I will be doing, but overall, there is enough here to spike interest, and I am not sorry for investing my time with it. For what it is worth, it is a single thumb up and a very interesting world that was simply crying out for more development and definition.

Take this review with a grain of salt. The game has lots of good going for it. But I got to a point where my frustration with the fighting aspects boiled over so I decided to cut my losses. I'm disappointed because I was looking forward to seeing the story play out. I wish I got to see more memory alteration scenes as well before I hit my wall. Pros: art, story, customizing combos, parkour-esque movement. Was really looking forward to uncover the memories and secrets of this New Paris. Con: combat was not fun for me. Too many enemy hordes which made completing combos too difficult. Especially when it was all 1-to-1 combat.

This game could be an amazing movie/show adaptation if Hollywood doesn't muck it up......

But with that in mind, the story was awesome to play through, the combat was pretty simple yet challenging, and you really get immersed in the world that is presented. 10/10 would remember again :)

this was a fucking wild ride.
PLAY THIS WITH A CONTROLLER NOT MOUSE AND KEYBOARD

when the story started coming together, i felt like i was playing a game written by chris avellone (a writer on a similar tier to hideo kojima)

the game started out feeling really disorganized and disconnected, as i progressed through the story, things slowly started to make more sense, then by the end of the game i felt like i was playing a modern unarmed combat version of kotor2 but its 2001 a space odyssey, just when it started to fall into place shit just gets REALLY weird.

also if you plan to play this, sometimes there just wont be sound, it sort of fixed it self but an annoying bug none the less.

8.5/10 game
6/10 experience (the lack of sound for like half the game was really irritating)

So, I've played this game in the past, loved it at the time. Now that I'm revisiting it, on PC no less... I can't tell you how absolutely pissed off this game makes me. I enjoy the story, the concept, etc. The creatures are good, the way they tie is interesting. I plan on finishing the game, and I'm currently on episode 3 as I'm writing this. However.

The mechanics on PC? God. Fucking. Awful. Horrible. The delay you have to wait just to do a single combo is infuriating. I'd have chopped off my arm and willingly fed it to an alligator at this point if not for the fact there are no alligators near my town - Thank Goodness. The hit combos you have to do for a boss? Horrible. What the fuck is dot arrow as a press command? I tried to move my mouse clockwise, I even tried to press space. Neither worked when I was prompted in a TIMED/LIMITED CLICK COMBO ... so eventually I started looking CRAZY rapid slamming my space bar and rotating my mouse wildly while begging the game to just cut me some fucking slack.

The buttons, please.. I didn't know what the hell I was pressing EVER until I got LUCKY and figured it out on my own. Regardless of the prompts telling me what to press, it sure as hell wasn't as helpful as they may have intended, because I still felt like I was going into every battle legally blind without my glasses on. Absolute blurs of rage and defeat.

I'm not giving up, but a warning - you want to play this game on pc? With mouse and keyboard? Or maybe the mild lag with a controller? ..Prepare to be so frustrated you'll take a tantrum nap. Otherwise, I enjoy this game and I think people should play it. The graphics are stellar considering the year, the cinematics are a bit amateur but still engaging and enjoyable, they definitely tried their best. Also, robot hos.

ok Thank you for coming to my party go home now

A game of remarkable beauty, intriguing storyline, and so much potential just crushed by its own boring gameplay. This game is definitely worth the playthrough, but sadly doesn't live up to the level of expectations it easily could have. There are many flaws in the game like controls, forced camera angles, broken combat and linearity. The cyberpunk environment and music is pretty good though.
I would give this game 6/10.

I will remember this game.
It's gameplay - a linear adventure alternating sections of traversal with enemy encounters, very similar to Uncharted - is not trying to do anything more than the strictly necessary to tell it's story.
But oh boy, the story. The setting. The soundtrack.
It builds a world so compelling, a concept so interesting, that the only fault I could think once it was over was: Why couldn't they do more?

I didn't think it was horrible, I just can't say I recommend it. You aren't missing much, just a bland 2010 action game. The remixing memories idea was really cool and I liked it a lot, it's definitely the highlight of the game. As for everything other than the ~4 instances you use this cool mechanic, the gameplay is really boring and I wasn't all that interested in what was going on. Decent enough to finish, not good enough to buy at $30. (Got it on sale)

Look guys, not every game ever made is going to be the best one ever. I'd give this a solid 8. And it deserves it. You can tell a studio or author put hundreds, if not thousands of hours into developing this world in their mind, and for the most part they succeeded in conveying an 11-hour snapshot of it to us.

Not a perfect game, but loved the concept. Would buy a re-release if they ever gave it a second try, and that would probably be amazing in the next-gen scene.

Personally loved it.

Bad memories shouldn't be erased from your head

Remember Me is a good, enough short, linear, action-adventure singleplayer game.
Little bit about gameplay. There is enough platforming, but not so hard. The main gameplay element is combos system. Yes, like in fighting games. But the difference is that here we can change features which are issued to us for each element in combo.
And there are some interesting episodes where we should change some person memories by correcting some little detailes in the memorie, because this will help our protagonist later.
I want to praise developers who made perfect locations design. There are very atmospheric fallen Paris.

So, we have enough interesting plot, well working battle system, adequate and good looking protagonist, perfect atmospheric level design, but enough boring last two bosses.
Very good product.

Pros:
* Plays well on linux (more details below)
* Lots and lots of checkpoints for the autosave - it is almost perfect.
* Pretty good story
* Pretty good combat system

Neutral:
* Platforming might be too easy sometime
* Mobs are random difficulty
* Bosses can be too hard sometimes for the selected difficulty level

Cons:
* Subtitles are way too small
* No adjustment of the tight timers
(this has minor effect on difficulty, but it should be a setting in the options)

Linux-specific:
* Audio doesn't always work on Linux, but that might be fixed in the future

* Poor performance:
GPU: GTX 1080
Best graphical settings without stutter from my testing:
1920x1080, Everything on LOW, No anti-aliasing

I played this without much information going into it as I had never really heard anything about the game. I believed I picked it up in a Capcom Humble Bundle years ago, so it wasn’t a conscious purchase at the time. Being bored with my current lineup of games, I decided to give this one a try. Let me start out with saying I trudged through this game. With it only taking 12 hours to compete, I’m glad it wasn’t very long. The game is a typical cyberpunk-ish story set in future Paris. Which was a welcome change, as it gives the world a somewhat different look & feel one would expect instead of every movie or game that’s blatantly ripped off the Blade Runner (I know, technically not Cyberpunk) in the past, though at times there are level the hark back to the Ridley Scott roots.

I won't get too much into the story but there’s some spoilers ahead… I will start off by saying the intro level does make you really feel like a fish-out-of-water, as your character has just gotten her mind wiped and apparently still shows having some residual memories left. She is almost immediately scheduled to have her brain formatted once more.
Enter “Shadowy Hacker Dude” who jacks into your brain and gives you instructions to help you escape. You are told your last occupation was a Memory Hunter (or something just like Hacker Dude) and is then convinced to rejoin the resistance against the corporation responsible for the mind wiping & memory upload/remix technology everyone is so into these days. However, instead of what you would think is a journey or progression in getting her memories back (as the title would suggest), it’s mostly vengeance in the form of jacking into minds and altering memories. Forcing the bad people to change their perspective ways or in one case forcing one to commit suicide (without much remorse from the main character I might add… I mean you just tricked someone into thinking they killed their wife and in turn kills themselves, *Gasp* as if you don’t know the consequences of your actions and then brush it off as you watch his estranged wife enter to find him dead, while you just dangle outside the window. Any talk about how awful a person you become? NOPE, on to the next target.) That's when the story really lost me. In fact, I wasn't too invested in either of the main characters because of the lack of background info you get. Maybe that was the intent of the writers, as you are meant to keep guessing along with the protagonist as to why these people mean something to you, their part in the company, or the resistance. In fact, who these people are and how they are connected to the main character, isn’t fully fleshed out until the occasional “Ah-Ha!” moments fed to you in a cutscene or after a “Memory Remix”. I didn’t really understand why the main character would just listen to hacker dude and never question anything she was instructed to do. She just willingly targets these people and follows his instructions the whole time. Then *BOOM* It's the ending to Empire Strikes Back. By then I still don't think you even get all your memories back but hey, you saved the world I guess by stopping the evil corporation from fulfilling their capitalistic goals of monetizing memories and turning people into slaves or...something. The shareholders are going to be so mad when the Q1 results come in. Oh and let's not forget that last chapter boss fight... Even after you are begged to end its suffering and destroy the computer, by said computer itself, it decides it still needs to fight you. And the whole time it's talking shit about the stuff you did...stuff it told you to do in the first place. Completely unnecessary, confusing and convoluted in IMO.
Combat/Fighting consists of going into a room, beating up bad guys (sometimes multiple endless waves unless you kill the bigger dude in back) then it’s back to exploration with some puzzle elements, or maybe a cutscene to further the story, until the next room of bad guys. Rinse & repeat. Combat feels a lot less like the Batman Arkham series, but a still little more than say Mad Max’s terrible, repetitive fighting. Oh but still repetitive nonetheless; there’s like 6 different enemies… Once you figure out how a newly introduced enemy behaves and the techniques needed to take them out (sometimes only via specific special combat moves) it just a matter of time before you encounter them again. Customising combo doesn’t sound as innovative as it would first appear. You can only change the “effects” each of the hits do, like whether combos do actual damage to an enemy -or- reduce the cool-down of special combat abilities -or- even regenerate health (which is essential once the introduction of enemies with force fields that electrocute you every time you attack them.) There are ONLY 4 combos in the entire game! (You can change the look of the moves to Street Fighter specials if you buy some DLC, which from what I've read is purely cosmetic and honestly should have been a free unlockable.) You also unlock special powers to use in specific situations. Like an “area blast” that only affects certain enemies in combat. Or a super combo that hit enemies repeatedly. Or the ability to manipulate unlock doors or move platforms during exploration levels

Exploration is completely linear with wall climbing (think Tomb Raider style) and pretty stale level design. There's only one way to go, unless there's a collectible to be found. Which is in the other direction usually. However, there isn’t a compass or beacon to point you to the objective (not that you need one) and backtracking for collectibles is hindered by the fact a cut screen will block returning to the last area. The narrative doesn't really explain how or even why your character would have this ability to leap from perch to scaffolding or scale a two story building with such ease. Maybe everyone in the future takes “parkour” lessons in gym class.

Lastly the bugs I encountered while playing forced me to restart numerous times to try and troubleshoot to progress. A had issues with Xbox controller support both at the very beginning and at the end of the game(switching to keyboard or even Big Picture mode helped to fix the issue after googling the problem). I also got stuck in the later half of the story because a door wouldn’t open after a combat sequence. (temporarily turning down my graphic setting and multiple “restart at checkpoint” helped to clear the issue, but it took about 4 to 5 tries). Still I was pretty close to giving up at that point and a little upset that these bugs are still in the game 7 years after release.

----------------------------
THE GOOD
-Detailed and unique art direction in level and character design. The Neo-Paris setting was refreshing and thought-out for a cyberpunk setting.
-The Memory Remix game-mechanic was a cool (However, the last one had a bug that broke controller support)

THE BAD
-Everything else
-Mediocre combat (literally only 4 different combos w/ a sudo-customization that lets you change the effects of each hit)
-Mediocre exploration
-Game breaking bugs that can stop progression.
-Incoherent story at times (while some of it might have been intentional to keep the narrative in the protagonist’s mind set of amnesia)

First things first! Right off the top, this game has some neat concepts. Customizing your own combos is a neat thing. Toying around with memories is a neat thing. The platforming is kinda neat.

And yet the game absolutely fails. The controls (I use an Xboc One controller) are all over the place. Multiple times the camera angle was off, causing the character to do stupid things in the middle of trying to platform. The combo customization is terrible since you can't pull any of them off but the weakest one without getting interrupted, and toying with memories? It's just an after thought mini game. The game tries to be a variety of things and does none of them particularly well. I wanted to like this game. I even waited years to do it. It was one of the first games sitting in my library.

For an infinitely better platformer, play any Tomb Raider.
For an infinitely better beat'em up, play Sleeping Dogs (or any of the Batman games).
You'll thank me.

Starting with cons: the controls weren't the greatest for mouse/keyboard. Went a lot smoother once I switched to a controller (except the memory scenes, where mouse/keyboard was way easier). Combat wasn't my favorite (Batman Arkham style), BUT the atmosphere and story made up for it. The story and characters, while simple, have heart to them and make this linear game worth a play, especially if you enjoy anything cyberpunk. Took me 10 hours to play through it all (without doing extras), so if you're waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 bug fixes, why not try this game in the meantime? :)

Finally I got myself to play this game as it's been on my account for about 5 years.

Game looks surprisingly good even for it's age. It's 7 years old game and still looks very nice. I liked the graphical design of the world and lighting etc. Very good looking game. But that's about the good this game has to offer.

Fighting is like Batman Arkham - style, but lot worse and less fun. You can make your own combos but you only get 4 different ones. You just change the moves.

Story was ridiculous and I really had no idea what was going or cared about it. Father evil, mother, company memory wipe, mutants etc. evil mastermind AI (or something) I didn't care about it. It was a mess. And when you are not fighting you climb around the neo paris like in any other game (Prince of persia, Tomb Raider, Assasins Creed etc) you know the drill.

Sounds were OK and music OK as well, nothing memorable.

I would rate it 5/10 because it honestly felt like a chore to finish. Too bad since this game really had interesting topic and beautifully created world.

Buy if you got nothing else to play and are interested in the sci-fi setting.

The controls for mouse and keyboard are terrible, especially the way the camera looks around with the mouse. It got frustrating to play over time and I just couldn't justify playing any longer as it wasn't fun fighting with the camera constantly. The combat system was OK, but I found I was targeting the wrong people all the time, maybe I'm just use the Arkham games combat, but this felt like it was trying to be that type of game and not really making it there. The story seemed OK, which is a shame because it was really hard to focus on anything other than how much the game mechanics were bothering me...

Good linear game with a really interesting and unique theme (commercialised memories).

The theme is expressed in the visual representation of the game really well. Story is a bit cliche at times, but good enough and the ending had a lot of impact. The scenarios and places the game puts you in really make you think about the possibilities of technology and likewise gets you thinking about a load of ethical problems I haven't seen posed in any other media.

Combat is a bit repetitive, satisfying at times though and the game ends just as it's about to get too repetitive.

Also really really great music.

I completely forgot to review this game omg.

The story is what you would expect from a Cyberpunk game. Deep conflicts that haunt the protagonist, powerful corporations capable to control whole cities, colossal poverty contrasting with the accommodated rich, and the barrier between humanity and technology that should not be crossed.
Pretty good argument and a nice plot twist, 8.5/10.

The gameplay is fantastic and unique. You can customize your own combos to confront different situations and enemies. The combat is challenging and fun.
9/10.

The art is also fantastic, it's like a combination of normal cyberpunk art and Mirror's Edge
9/10.

Overall 8.8/10

I recommend playing the game with french audio to immerse better in the world.

play it
you won't regret it
very linear gameplay
not an open world to explore but its a very neo futurist, deus ex style environment
limited moves in combat system with 5 special moves which you can trigger after meeting certain threshold of hit moves and those special moves are unlocked, but you can only use two special moves at a time after that you have to refill the special move meter its not complicated but it makes you work to get there.
Combo system is easy with a controller since i used keyboard and mouse it was kind of stressing.
They tried to imitate batman Arkham series (2009-2015) style fight system
and its quite similar but with a little twist even though this game was made in 2013 and its story and some gameplay mechanics where you can change something in the past memory of a character is really Interesting.
very good game from Dontnod studios
I loved life is strange series from them
this game is different
give it a try.

(Originally played on 360) Remember Me is, in my honest opinion, is the only good game and story Dontnod has produced . The game is atmospherically charged, tells a rather intriguing story, and has one of the most interesting soundtracks found in gaming. The combat itself does leave something to be desired but is perfectly serviceable. Boss fights are interesting and have varied mechanics, but can drag on a little. Overall Remember Me is an ambitious and wonderfully put together game and its a shame that Dontnod didnt make more like it.

An interesting cyberpunk experience that even though it failed to reach a higher full potential still delivers you into an immersive futuristic world.

Pros
+Detailed environments
+Cyberpunk aesthetic
+Innovative ideas
+Immersive world

Cons
-Predictable story
-Linear gameplay
-Clunky combat

Though you may not remember this game after some time it doesn't mean it wasn't an enjoyable immersive experience into it's world at the time; that if fleshed out could have easily become a classic series. It's fighting mechanics can seem clunky at first but are interesting adaptive over time. It's clear lots of innovative ideas were put together to make this game even if the sum of them all was still the same.

I was going to give this game a Positive review since it's flawed but is worth seeing. However there is a game breaking bug which means I cannot finish the game, this is unforgivable.

So the game is beautiful, the story is ok, the combat is a bit samey for me - combo moves and button mashing, no stealth alternatives and the climbing and jumping feels clunky.

At a late stage in the game I beat a double boss, which I do not want to have to do again and there is a bug so you stay in combat mode and the door does not unlock. Impossible to progress. I googled this bug and others said they just had to load checkpoint and beat the boss over and over again until the bug didn't happen. Sorry but life is too short for this, especially for an average game.

I recommend watching a playthrough on youtube instead of a purchase.

Beautiful music, the scenes are fantastic, gameplay is fun enough but the story, the story is so nice and with those turns that makes you feeling it for real. It has quite some years old, but graphically speaking, it has aged well. Don't want to spoiler anything, since this game is truly one to remember! 9/10.

Got this when it was 80% off, or €5.59.

Fun game. Combat mechanics are neat, although a little bit clunky, and the combos are really cool. Story isn't very coherent but fun regardless. Graphics aged well, 7 years later. Keyboard and mouse controls are absolutely worthless, do play with a controller - it's so much better. Soundtrack is really cool and fits the game setting very well.

Performance is very good overall, although I've been getting some annoying 1-2 second hangs later on in the game. Doesn't run well in Proton, so do play on Windows.

All in all, this game is worth getting at the sale price.

The game keeps interrupting itself with cut scenes and dialogue moments that take you from a slight jog to slow walk. This is on top of having to play scavenger hunt for health and focus pickups which you can lose out on if you walk to far forward and get locked out from being able to backtrack for it. The combat is basically a muddled version of Batman Arkham Asylum with a parkour system that just serves as a sort of puzzle and not really fitting with the rest of the game. There is also rare segments where you mess with memories trying to figure out what to change in order to get the result you want (something Dontnod later uses with better success in Life is Strange). Honestly, the game feels like they were trying to build three different games and mashed them together with little success.

Pros:

+Detailed environment
+Cyber Punk atmosphere
+Great sound & voice acting
+Interesting storyline
+Mixture of combos

Cons:

-Combat was lackluster
-Lengthy boss fights
-QTEs (Quick Time Events)
-Wonky Controls
-Clones

From a perspective point of view from seeing Paris from the skylines to the sewers it was all beautifully detailed, bright colors, detailed, fleshed out and was amazing for cyber punk atmosphere. I’d walk around and just look at all the arts and the finer details of Paris. It felt solid. When it came to voice acting and the sounds, I felt like I was in the streets of Paris overhearing people talk, androids assisting others, garbage can falling over; or even the sewers with water dripping and footsteps in the sludge. It was done very well and I felt immersed in the game. If you’re getting creepy vibes when going through the sewers and trying to get out because you know you’re being watched, then it was a good feeling of a well detailed game.

I find the story to be interesting because it shows us how fragile our own mind, our own secrets, and how our thoughts from happiness to anger to sorrow are our own and makes us the person we are today. It had that sense of storytelling throughout the game and even at the ending. It solved the why, the what, the how, the who, the shebang. Honestly, at first I thought the game wouldn’t cover some of the questions I had, but at the end it reassured me, so I’m glad and it was a well put story even if it was short. I think they could have added more content, more history or even just thrown more cyber punk lore into the mix.

The combos are a nice touch. You get new fighting abilities the more points you get from killing enemies and bosses. You’ll get a sequence to start off with such as punch, punch, and punch. In this sequence you can add a punch that does damage, heals you, and helps you on your cooldown abilities that hastens it cooldowns, or helps chain the sequence into itself for even stronger attacks and higher combos. It’s fun and interesting to test out all the sequences and moves. At times though the fighting wasn’t always fluid and I’d dodge in a direction that wasn’t intended or leap frog away from someone and still get hit. Which made the combat stressful and irritating at times; you punch and kick someone, dodge their missiles or punches and then somehow still get hit. It was irritating since I’m not a big fan of these fighting styles.

With the combat being shady at times that means what? The controls. The controls were clearly made for a controller hands down. They did a good job for the most part, but rewinding a memory, or moving around while hitting someone wasn’t as fluid compared to Batman titles using a mouse and keyboard. With that being said brings in the QTEs or also known as Quick Time Events. I’m not a fan of this and never will be. Does it add style, hype and make you act quickly to what’s currently going on? Yes, but I’ve never been a fan; just MY opinion on the matter.

The boss fights were lengthy. They weren’t really hard they were more of a time waster until the next chapter and you basically kept using the same sequence to make your cooldown abilities kick off that much faster so you can use them on the boss (DDoS on Warden lady, UGH!). The other problems were the lack of enemies and clones. Clones for days. Clones, clones everywhere. I mean, for how detailed the game is they could have mix and matched or added different degree of detail on some of the uniforms (Total War series).

All and all it was a great game. If you’re into QTEs, using a controller for combo fights, a good visual and audio experience with a fascinating storyline, then I would suggest you buy this title. 7.5/10. Recommend.

Very interesting concept, this game. Set in the future, you have the power to alter memories to make people feel pain or happiness. What really happens when we play with the mind and memories?

Honestly, even though the play is very linear and short (7 real levels with an intro and outro level), the thought behind it is kinda cool. It would have been neat to see this concept expand into a future new game which could be more up to the player what happens but I digress.

This game has combo mashes that you can change up whenever you want, sensen powers giving the player an extra way to combat her enemies, cool puzzles to solve, and a very interesting story.

Cons: Weak bosses at times, even on hardest difficulty, and very short game time.
Pros: Lots of fun, cool story, and engaging gameplay.

This game is a decent AA linear adventure game paced with arena beat-them-all combats in a sci-fi universe.
I bought this game mostly because of Alain Damasio's implication in the early development of story leads and because I support Capcom.

There are great visuals especially around neo-Paris, clever lore setup and beautiful orchestral music by Olivier Deriviere.

Although I truly enjoyed completing 2/3 of the game, I have to admit that the characters are pretty dull, the dialogs are generic (both in english and in french), the plot soon starts to fail our interest and the gameplay is pretty poor (14 enemies in total including clones ; repetitive fights with checkpoints between waves ; shady QTE).

Some innovating ideas like the combo DIY system, the assisted hidden stashes or the memory remixes are fairly fun at start but are pretty limited in the end.

In the last two chapters of the game I got spammed with glitches (tricky platforms, glitchy animations of aoe, vanishing hit-boxes, 3rd person POV stuck in combat, sound popping in and out).

I played this game without a controller in the hardest difficulty and wiped it clean in 12 hours (walking most of the time to pay attention to the lovely details)

I recommend buying this game on sale or trying it for free

This game has great cinematics and nice visuals, but its mechanics and level design make it into a linear platformer more than anything, with conveniently allocated pipes and ledges. The world looks big, but its playable part is very small. They even cut off parts of levels with groups of people standing together! Mechanic of rewinding and altering memory could be fun, but it becomes a chore, a complex search for points in time that requires extreme (and unnecessary) precision.

Some people dislike games that work like movies, only with a few QTE or dialog choices, but I wish this game would have less gameplay and more cinematic simplicity.

Owned this game for a while, courtesy of a Humble Bundle, but never really took any notice of it due to its mediocre reviews.. but this week, it installed it. LOVED IT! I loved every minute of it. Loved it's story, loved it's art style, loved the sound design. It goes up there in my list of most enjoyable games. I read a lot of criticism of the control system and the game being too hard. I played with an Xbox 360 controller and had no issues at all. Yes, I died a couple of times, but never felt like launching the controller through the monitor! The combos and combat system is admittedly a little unorthodox and yes, the story is linear (I don't mind linear!).
Genuinely loved it.

It isn't perfect, but Remember Me does a few things that makes it a unique and worthwhile experience.

The story is interesting and likely the game's strongest aspect, but while it checks a lot of boxes for someone who is a fan of cyberpunk/dystopian plots, it's also riddled with corny one-liners and other annoying moments (mainly bosses and other enemies repeating their dialogue ad nausem). Customizable combos are also a nice touch and seem to be rare in games with this type of combat, such as Batman or Mad Max.

Unfortunately the customization isn't really fleshed out enough to warrant a lot of experimentation but it still gets points for trying to provide some flavor to its gameplay. The platforming and puzzles felt tacked on at times but added a bit of variety that enhances the overall experience. There are a lot of collectibles that either serve as power-ups or provide some lore, which may appeal to some but I think having to collect hundreds of hidden items just adds some unnecessary bloat to the game.

Still a good experience overall and worth picking up on sale.

Super cool game. The combat system is really cool with how you get to customize things, but ends up being kind of clunky in the latter half of the game because of how it works to get the most out of it. The story, art direction, sound, etc is all top notch though. It's not a super long game (maybe 8 hours?) but I loved the entire thing. Glad I finally got around to finishing it and definitely recommended! Just think, this is from the people that went on to make Life is Strange! You can get a taste of their skill at storytelling here

The game is extremely interesting albeit a bit unrefined. After all this is Dontnod's first major game and mistakes were inevitably made.
The Story: The story is interesting and the setting is even more. You are in a futuristic Paris where giant corporation messes with people's memories, you suffer from amnesia and your main goal is to bring this evil corp down, by regaining our memory. The characters are interesting, the plot could be much more philosophical and deep than it is. After all it is (or supposed to be) a game about true identity and how memories define us. Also there are some good plot twists here and there, and they will keep you hooked up.
The gameplay: it is basically a mix between a platformer and a combo-combat. They are not bad per se and the variety of enemies and strategies is satisfactory BUT it deprives the game of its immersion. You can't explore Paris, there are no side activities to embark, deepening its concept. Furthermore, the memory sequences are very creative, but a few in number. if there were ten of them, it would be much greater. The controls are solid, but the camera angle a bit strange
The graphics: They still hold up, and the scenery is gorgeous, but it fells short to a beautiful background or a detailed corridor. It lacks the openness and the immersion of the world.

Overall: A decent game, a solid 7/10. You will like it and you will appreciate it, but I doubt that you will love it. Still, if dontnod will decide on a sequel, I will definitely look it up.

I actually enjoyed this game to be honest. I do like my scifi/cyberpunk games. The combat system was excellent and simple if you are using a controller, the same can't be said if you are using kbm, the story was decent enough and kept me interested. :D

I like the fighting most of the time but personally I think everything else is annoying some fights i also think is annoying if you a kid under 30 you'll enjoy it probably. If you older person over 35 skip it if you old gamer like myself played pretty much everything from 80s till now bull*t like this has probably got pretty old to you as well. I will simplify this game in a sentence or two jump, climb, fight encounter. Button spam, button spam, dodge, button spam, button spam, dodge, rinse repeat till battle is over. Continue on jump climb figure out puzzle jump climb drop fight encounter button spam button spam dodge button spam on n on...... That's the entire game enjoy........

Pros - This game has nice environments and cool ideas and graphics.
Cons - Minimal player agency, this is a platformer style of gameplay, where the player has minimal-to-no decisions. Explaining some of the quirks of the bosses is so bad that you lose and you do not understand why, so you must replay 2-3 times to get what the game is asking you without helping the player understand the game. The team that made this wanted to create something unique but they did it in either a most basic way and they missed a lot of opportunities.

Result.
It could have been a great game but due to the lack of the things mentioned above its not such a good idea after all. I really loved the story i hated the railroading where playing had no meaning at all...

Loses its momentum towards the end, but an enjoyable experience overall.
Good: decent story, nice graphics and the setting.
Not so good: some fighting with the camera in combat, Remix sequences become annoying fast, combat is good at first, but eventually you just end up using the longest combo and do same combinations over and over again. Specials moves make it more interesting though.
