Die beiden charmanten Gelee Kreaturen „Bismo“ und „Plom“ wurden bei einem tragisch lustigen Unfall miteinander verbunden und können nun ihre Masse und ihre Fähigkeiten gleichzeitig miteinander tauschen – willkommen bei Shift Happens, dem einzigen Spiel, welches es mit dem Body Mass Index nicht so ganz genau nimmt.

Erlebe spannende Abenteuer in vier gänzlich verschiedenen Welten:

Erkunde ein wahnwitziges Labor, in welchem auch Bismo und Plom verschmolzen sind!
Entdecke dichtbewachsene grüne Wälder…
… einen staubtrockenen Canyon mit halsbrecherischen Windgeschwindigkeiten…
…und die gar bitterkalte Grotte!

Das Besondere: Shift Happens ist zwar auch für Solisten ein Feuerwerk der Freude, doch sein gesamtes Potential entfaltet es gemeinsam mit einem Freund oder einer Freundin, während man munter fröhlich auf der Couch eine Pizza genießt: Löst vertrackte Rätsel, haut euch spaßeshalber gegenseitig auf die Mütze und sammelt wertvolle Münzen. Koordination und Kommunikation sind dabei die Schlüssel, welche für eine erfolgreiche Reise benötigt werden. Und nicht vergessen: Am besten spielt sich Shift Happens mit einem Gamepad, während man gemeinsam auf dem Sofa chillt und die Beine hochlegt.

Wer dennoch lieber alleine spielen will, der darf sich im Einzelspielermodus austoben und zahlreiche eigens gestaltete Level unsicher machen.

dieses spiel ist kacke es hat unendlich viele bugs, nichtmal 50 cent lohnen sich für das Spiel. NICHT HERUNTERLADEN!!!

mein Fruchtwasserkollege und ich haben sehr viel spaß daran uns in diesem spiel zu ärgern, freuen uns aber auch wenn wir gut zusammen arbeiten. sehr zu empfehelen

ein sehr spaßiges spiel, das man sehr gut mit der freundin von der couch aus spielen kann!
nur empfehlenswert!
ps: die aufgaben sind mitunter schon gut knobelig... und das selbst für mich als alten spiele-veteranen!
schön weitermachen und hoffentlich gibt es noch eine fortsetzung!

Grundsätzlich ein gutes Spiel, aber technisch sehr sehr unausgereift. Darunter viele Bugs wegen denen man das Level neu starten muss. Das sorgt für Frust, aber nicht für Spielspass.

Ihr seid zu Zweit und sucht ein wenig Abwechslung und Spaß für zwischendurch.
Dann gebt dem Spiel eine Chance.
Steuerung mit Gamepad ist gut, Synchronisation mit dem Onlinepartner passt ohne Probleme.
...auch das Hundertste mal seinen Partner mit einem Cube zermatschen ist immer noch super Lustig, xD

Extrem kurzweiliger Koop Rätselspass mit ein wenig Jump and Run Elementen.
Hoffentlich gibt es dazu mal eine Leveldesigntool für die Community, dann kann es ein absoluter Klassiker werden.

Ein mit Liebe zum Detail gemachtes Spiel, was sich vor allem durch Witz und seine Einzigartigkeit auszeichnet! Eine super Möglichkeit ein Spiel im Koop mit seinem liebsten Feind... Freund *hust* zu erleben.

Shift Happens ist ein Spiel für jeden, der Jump and Run Spiele liebt und dabei auch gerne Rätsel löst. Selbst nach längerer Spielzeit macht das Spiel immer noch sehr viel Spaß.

Die Singleplayer Kampagne macht sehr viel Spaß und stellt dabei den Spieler immer wieder vor neue Herausforderungen, ohne das Spaß-Level zu senken.

Auch der Multiplayer ist ein großes Highlight. Es ist ganz egal ob dein Freund bei dir zu Hause ist oder am anderen Ende der Welt. Natürlich ist es etwas lustiger, wenn er bei dir zu Hause ist, da du das Gesicht deines Freundes zu sehen kannst, wenn du ihn in ein Säurebecken wirfst und du dir seine Coins krallst. :-P

Letztendlich kann ich das Spiel nur empfehlen, da es nicht nur Spielspaß mit einem Freund bringt, sondern auch ohne einen Freund.

Meiner Meinung nach ist Shift Happens echt gelungen und das Besten Jump and Run Spiel der letzten Jahre. Zu dieser Meinung bewegt mich zum einen ein echt gutes Game- und Art-Design zum anderen aber auch der Rätselspaß, der immer wieder aufs Neue Herausfordernd ist.

Vorläufige Review, weil Early Access.

Shift Happens befindet sich zwar noch in einer frühen Version, spielt sich aber zumindest im Lokalen Koop-Modus nahezu bugfrei und genau darauf ist das Spiel auch ausgelegt. Gemütlich auf die Couch und gemeinsam teils knifflige Rätsel lösen.

Es ist allgemein bekannt, dass „Mario Kart“ Freundschaften zerstört. Ich behaupte, „Shift Happens“ kann das Ganze wieder zusammenflicken.

Wer „Ibb & Obb“ kannte und mochte, wird auch in diesem Spiel sehr viel Spaß haben. Obendrein gibt es noch einen Einzelspielermodus, der sich zwar ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig steuert (vielleicht hätte man sich da ein bisschen von „Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons“ abschauen können) aber ansonsten sehr gelungen wird.
Den Online-Koop habe ich noch nicht getestet, im heutigen Developers-Stream wies man aber daraufhin, dass man da noch mit vielen Bugs rechnen könne.

Die Entwickler kommen aus Deutschland. Auch Leute, die nicht englisch sprechen, können also ihr Feedback geben.

In der aktuellen Version würde ich das Spiel durchaus empfehlen.

Actually a fun puzzle game but there's two mechanics I didn't like at all and 1 made me quit the game half way through:

1. There's timed challenges. I hate timed challenges but fortunately they're optional.

2. You can die in this game and then have to restart the level. Meaning you might even have to play for a few minutes to get to the place where you died. This might be an interesting challenge for some action driven games, but in my opinion adds nothing valuable to a puzzle game. I'm here for puzzle games and quite suck at platformers. So this made me quit the game after 4 hours.

Alot of bugs while trying to load into a game and alot of lag in co-op, hitboxes for picking some one up is also quite scuffed.

Boring. i got it almost for free so I don't care about the money but is so tiring and over-complicated with the same mechanics all over again. loads of bugs with cubes where you can get out of the map or even out of sync with your partner. Dying and losing all of the hearts makes you restart the whole level all over again and have to recollect the points. The combo to throw your partner above you will not work most of the time and it will throw in front of you. You hardly ever get the hearts not to respawn from the beginning... Terrible design...

now i know why its always 90% off.
additional note:i have severe sleep problems that even medications could not help me but this game can work x100 better than any sleep drug and its so magically boring game that after 10 minutes of playing it you will just be happy to just live your normal life than playing this awesome game or even enjoy your study for your exam in college.tried to play it 10mintues to 10 minutes so maybe after 100 years i manage to finish it but i think it was a dream.

Not fun and co-op is barely playable. We came across several bugs that forced us to restart. Game lacks audio, music is unbearable and the game in general is too simplistic and the controls are terrible.

omg, that’s freaking cool game, I bought it for me and my girlfriend, and for now we play like half of hour, and that was hilarious, it's super fun and interesting (especially when you troll each other), and we only completed 1/100 of the game. 100% recommend for this price

Very nice co-op experience! Time trials are nice with a friend. Singleplayer mode doesn't feel right at first and it is painful to work on those time trials. Overall, I would recommend it :)

Online Co-op is completely bugged out, it's barely playable, some levels have to be restarted over again and you have to hope it won't bug out when advancing.

Bonus levels are the best part. Realizing that you missed a secret area at the end of the level is the worst part. Class Unity Rigidbody physics and desyncs is the middle/funny part.

I am sorry, but I must leave a negative review to this game. I really tried to like it, but it was boring from start to finish and my friend and I really had to force myself to keep playing.

Shift Happens is a two-person cooperative puzzle platformer that has a very good idea on paper, but is more than boring in execution. The idea is that the characters can shape-shift. So, one is short and the other tall. Both characters cannot take on the same shape. Therefore, the other player switches directly when one switches. This is how you solve puzzles and use the height/strength/speed of the body shapes to your advantage.

The levels are very “loveless” and not very detailed. The game is incredibly repetitive and only brings minor changes with higher levels. And this is where the game fails for me. Shift Happens is a very easy and simple game. They could have included smaller abilities that somehow make the game more difficult, or at least more interesting. You can tell that just the basic concept was developed. And the bonus levels are not particularly fun either. Is that supposed to be a reward or a punishment?

Both the graphics and the soundtrack are okay.

Unfortunately, a really disappointing gaming experience. I definitely do not recommend this game.

i can't play this game. When i launch this game, my screen was black a long time and it do not show me anything. I was trying every thing but it still not work. Can you help me if you have the same problem please. Thanks to read my post, i hope someone can help me.

This game goes from 'challenging but fun' to 'two people trying to coordinate pixel-perfect platforming' at break-neck speed. As soon as you learn how to throw and catch the other player, every jump becomes 'throw and catch.' Throw the small one up, switch sizes, big one up top catches the small one jumping up. Accidentally fall? Do it again. It's annoying. My daughter and I are playing this in couch co-op and by halfway through the first set of levels, the timing required between the two players got to be too frustrating for us. Reminds me of a slightly less QWOP-y version of Biped.

It's a great game! Think Braid, Chronology, Limbo.

It's got a very innovative and fun concept! I love solving such puzzles. You can use the same mechanics in different ways and different situations. Once you get the hang of it the game throws a lot of puzzles at you which you need to solve. And you can use these mechanics to solve all puzzles.

One great thing about all these puzzles is that they're all isolated from each other. Meaning that you don't need to run to ends of the stages repeatedly. Instead, the levels are divided into various small zones each of which is an independent by itself allowing you to relax and focus on each of them easily.

Unfortunately, after a few hours (world 2/ 4 ) the devs have tried to push the boundaries of the game engine resulting in timed-puzzles + precision platformer. I got a panic attack in world 2 because of I found the timing puzzles too fast and the jump location/timing/speed accuracy were needed too high for me. There are 4 actions that you can perform and in these quick-timed puzzles you need to switch between those 4 buttons which was also a problem for me. I sure wish that the devs would give a casual difficulty setting.

But I think that the other people haven't had this kind of experience and are fine with the timing jumps, going by the reviews. If you don't mind a precision-platformer or micro-timed puzzles then you would love this game!

Edit: I made a few more attempts before giving up on the game completely.

Besides the micro-timed events + precision platforming (think super meatball) there's a particular concept of jumping to a higher ledge that is very very irritating as a single player.

You can see this in teh demo video itself. Jump to a higher ledge. Change shapes. Switch whom you control. Then jump while getting the other one to pull you up.

This jumping to a higher ledge is taking to new settings like jumping over spikes and timing your jump through a spring so as to reach the edge and press the button at the exact moment to get your partner to pull you up.

Summary2: Play this game ONLY if you have a friend who can team up with you. As a single player it sucks bad after world#2 onwards and they don't have a way of teaming up online with an unknown person.

Super fun couch coop. It's a shame that Shift Happens didn't get more attention than it did and that the team behind it no longer exists. We recorded the voices of the characters in my tiny guest bathroom turned vocal booth. The voice actors were two of the devs. Fun times!

For puzzle solvers and coop players. During the pandemic, I've been into coop games which are not FPS but you have to solve puzzles without any time constraint. This fits the bill. It is fun and low pressure.

10/10 If you're playing locally with your friend, which is fun/troll
0/10 If your friend are living elsewhere, which makes this game Jesus Christ. So what is Jesus Christ ? Jesus Christ is good, but Jesus Christ.

Game is still fun, but these delay glitch is absolutely disgusting.
If you'd bought it and wanna play with a oversea friend, here're some tips

1) pausing the game could help you to fix the delay with you try to catch your friend.
2) Sometimes, randomly jumping is better than aiming, 'cause the delay.

WOnderful coop game. Currently playing with my 7 year old son and we are having a blast! Game requires good communication and it is truly cooperative gameplay!

Great choice for people looking for a local co-op puzzle/platformer with a creative twist.
The game mechanic of shifting mass can be tremendously fun, specially when the puzzle solving sequence is executed in perfect unison.

Really didn't enjoy playing this one. The characters just sleep with their eyes open. Sometimes inputs are just lost because the characters doze off. The solution to the puzzle is very simple but you have to time yourself just right to execute it and sometimes even if you do it perfect it does not work because the character was daydreaming. It's really annoying, frustrating and just not fun. I like the concept but the execution is just really bad. Also if you die all your points float in that place, and you have to go over it to recover them. But if you die for example because you feel in the water, you have to fall in the water again to get your points back, but falling in the water kills you, so even though you see the points right there you can never recover them, so you have to replay the level. Stupid, right?

So you have to jump over water, and the other person has to catch you at the other end, but right when they have to do it, the character is daydreaming, the input is lost and they don't catch you. You fall in the water and all your point float in the place you died. So you can't get them again because you would just die again. And all without any fault to the player. This happens all the time. I've been playing computer games for 20+ years. I know when the game eats the inputs, and this is one of those stupid ass games that does that only to mess with you and to increase the game time.
