Snooker 19
Zunächst das positve:
Grafik ist in Ordnung und die komplette Physik wirklich hervorragend. Effet, Bandenabschläge alles wirklich top.

Der ganz große Minuspunkt ist der Karrieremodus. Es ist nicht möglich einen eigenen Spieler zu erstellen, dies wäre für mich aber noch verschmerzbar.
Das große Problem ist es gibt keinerlei Möglichkeiten sich als Spieler zu entwickeln. Keine Änderung der Ausrüstung oder Verbesserung der Fähigkeiten. Es würde viel mehr Spaß machen wenn man sich bei den einzelnen Aspekten des Spiels entwickeln könnte, z.B Lochspiel, Safety, Lange Bälle, Positionsspiel. Aber die Kariere besteht einfach daraus stumpfsinnig ein Turnier nach dem anderen zu Spielen. Das macht auf Dauer keinen Spaß. Für meinen Geschmack sollte es auch noch eine etwas einfachere Variante geben, das Positions- und Safespiel sind selbst auf der einfachsten Stufe sehr anspruchsvoll und verlangen viel Übung.
Insgesamt für das gebotene viel zu teuer und es regt wirklich nicht dazu an das Spiel mehr als kurzen Zeitvertreib zwischendurch zu spielen. Da sind einige Free to Play nicht schlechter

keine Übersicht bzw loch Sicht beim Gegner ggfs eigenen stoß, mutmaßlich geht die kugel schon dahin aber was noch so passiert ist sieht man denn wenn nächste stoß dran ist, da gab es in älteren teilen schon bessere Kameraführung , keine Replay´s schade , Gegner cheatet hab leider Screen zuspät gemacht aber es gingen deutlich der Hilfe und eigentliche Queue durch die beiden kugeln davor durch und naja diverse Grafikfehler beim Stoßen Gegner

macht schon Spaß aber dinge oben nerven, ging alles schonmal besser

Im Vergleich zu WSC Real 09 ist die Bedienung erstmal gewöhnungsbedürftig. Auch die nicht ganz 100%ige Einstellmöglichkeit der Geschwindigkeit, die ja essentiell ist für Snooker, ist erstmal etwas ungewohnt. Es macht das Spiel aber auch realistischer. Eine große Auswahl an Spielern gibt es, aber leider nicht die Möglichkeit, einen eigenen Charakter zu kreieren. Auch bei der Statistik könnte viel mehr geboten werden z.B. Anzahl an Maximum-Breaks oder Anzahl an gespielten Centuries. Aber alles in Allem macht es Spaß und somit 3,5 von 5 Sternen.

Habe gemischte Gefühle bei dem Spiel.Erstmal macht es natürlich Laune.Man erkennt die Promis obwohl die Grafik(trotz Episch oder Kino,was immer das bedeutet) an mein Snookergame von 2003 erinnert.Ballpyisik ist passend ,aber selbst auf leicht lochen die Bälle ,die auch ein o sullivan nicht potten würde.Leider schon zu lange gespielt .

Nach 40 Stunden kann ich dieses Spiel guten Gewissens empfehlen. Jedoch nicht zum vollen Preis. Ich habe es für den halben Preis beim Sale erhalten. Erst das Positive: Echte Snooker Spieler, gute Spiel Physik, Kommentator und Zuschauer-Applaus machen das Spiel besonders gut. Man Spielt echt Turniere, muss sich vorher Qualifizieren usw. Noch habe ich nicht alle Schwierigkeitsstufen ausprobiert, aber bis jetzt gefällt es mir. Leider komme ich nun zum Negativen: Long Pots aus +3 Meter Entfernung schafft i.wie jeder. Alle Spieler Wiegen geschätzt 60 Kg so wie die aussehen. Ich würde Gerne meinen eigenen Charakter machen können für eine Karriere. Und das was mich am meisten Stört, ich will eine f♥♥♥♥♥g Replay Funktion. Ich will mir meine Guten Pots, Safeties und Snookers wieder angucken können.

Ich kann die schlechten Reviews nicht verstehen. Die Steuerung ist etwas anders als in anderen Spielen dieser Art, aber nach etwas Gewöhnung nicht schlecht. Die Grafik der Avatare ist natürlich nicht sehr gut, aber die Stars sind deutlich erkennbar. Mir gefällt besonders die Präsentation mit Originalstars, Kommentatoren (vermutlich auch original, leider nur die englischen), Originaleinblendungen, Originalschauplätzen usw. Sowas gab es seit WCS 2009 (also 10 Jahre) nicht mehr, daher kann ich dieses Spiel empfehlen, wenn es im Sale ist. Für den vollen Preis könnte man sicherlich noch etwas mehr Feinschliff und bessere Grafik verlangen.

Grafik ist bei episch immer noch sehr schlecht,,,,, auf leicht muss man ein Profi sein um zu gewinnen ,,,,, der Preis des Spiels ist ne sauerei .... hatte mich so gefreut aber jetzt kann ich nur noch mit dem Kopf schütteln

Das spiel hat einen guten Ansatz die grafik und die zeitbegrenzung für einen Stoss sind allerdings schlecht was viele Spielzüge unmöglich macht die Grafik ist bei episch so wie bei anderen spielen auf niedrig...

Whilst I think this is the best snooker game out there currently, there's probably a lot more that could be done to improve the game. The options for aiming aids are fairly limited, limited view angles of the table can be very difficult to judge your way out of hard snookers. The biggest miss is that you cannot create a character from scratch you have to play as one of the professionals included in the game.

Smooth, simple and realistic gameplay.

Lacking,
Player creation and customization, leaving only to playing with existed real snooker players.
No Pool tables, unlike WSC Real 2009 with created player, snooker and pool.
Unable to rebind keys.
Poor and Blind waits in Online functions, pointless and endless loading on the Search for a duel match, even when during the short monthly Online tournaments,

Does gets boring ' waiting ' or playing on the same table eventually.

DEVELOPERS DON'T CARE ABOUT IMPROVING THEIR GAME. Better Camera angles are needed, WHERE IS CREATE A PLAYER?. Better Tutorial is needed to show you how to play a swerve shot correctly etc. Practice Routines?. Better stats are needed. I want to be able to see how many 10+ to 147+ I have made, foul etc. Aiming aid is awful, especially for beginners, colour needs to be changed and needs to be shorter and longer for beginners. Can we have more than one career at the same time?. No re- rack option?. AI is terrible even on hard or miss nothing and land perfect on the next colour, the AI at the moment can miss dead easy shots or safety is terrible, can do the craziest of shots( goes for a baulk colour and pots it instead of potting a black.) There needs to be an aiming aid for when in a snooker and coming of a cushion, can we not have a circle or something for where the cue ball may finish up after the shot?. There needs to be an are you sure button on concede match etc. I want to see Ronnie O Sullivan playing with both hands, his incredible break building etc, Judd Trumps naughty brand of snooker, Mark Selby's tough safety play etc. the game has been rushed and poorly developed. commentary is terrible too. DEVELOPERS DON'T RESPOND OR SEEM TO WANT TO IMPROVE THEIR GAME.

+ It's snooker
+ The AI does know how to play snooker. Makes good line ups for the following shot
+ The referee is voiced well
+ It has online play vs a friend mode

- The AI however good is also missing easy puts to give the player a chance, instead of missing the hard ones more often
- The commentary is the WORST i've ever heard in any game. A small + for the option to mute this
- The colored balls don't get put back on the table and or wiped clean by the referee. They magically reappear on their spot
- Weirdest framerate cap I've ever witnessed. Even on 60fps forced vsync it goes 62FPS, so proabaly it's a vsync off only game with an always cap of 62. I need a framelimiter (MSI Afterburner) to correct it back to 60 to not have frameskips once a while due to the game trying to push 62 frames on a 60hrz refresh rate. Also when using 75hz or more with forced vsync on or off, the game locks itself on 62. *scratches head*

Overall: Very enjoyable snooker game and I think it's the best on the market today. Lots of difficulty modes to select for everyone's taste. Thumbs up from me.

Edited: I wouldn't have bought it for full price. The review is based on the sale price.

Overall a really good snooker game.

Career mode is good but why is there no character creation option? Why do I have to play as a spotty teenager whose name I can never remember?

Picked this up recently after feeling the need to play some snooker (which of the time of writing this is currently impossible irl !!) I've sunk a good 50 or so hours in and it is a solid snooker sim. Many of the gripes have been mentioned in other reviews, so I can't really add much more than what has already been said. That being said, my pro's & cons are:

Pros

As it's an official game, you have all the players and tournaments which adds to the feeling of the game when playing

Table & ball look & feel is great with finger marks, chalk marks etc

The physics do a good job of representing real life

A good variety of line helpers

Controls are decent, when you get used to them

The difficulty settings are very strange - it's far too easy on the 1st couple of settings (not tried hard yet, though)

Players look dated and devoid of any kind of emotion

No overhead view which seems very strange - this also makes it quite tough to judge escapes

No custom player creation - you have to pick one of the pros already in the game

An incredibly short tutorial, so beginners will have a tough time if unsure of the rules & gameplay in general

Overall I'm enjoying it and I picked it up in a sale, so was only about £13 - if you can get it on sale, then it's definitely recommended. I doubt you would be looking at a snooker game if you don't play or enjoy it - does very much what it says on the tin.

Too hard even on easy, AI clears up more often than not and even when I play a perfect shot I can miss inexplicably. I want to learn, but it's an awful experience whenever I play it.

Totally unplayable for a beginner. Just bought this and am still learning, but the only option is to either practice, which is boring, or play against a pro. What are you expected to learn by missing a shot and then watching Ronnie O'Sullivan clear the table. If there were options to play amateurs at your own skill level and work your way up it would be excellent, as it is I don't think I'll be playing it much

Far too hard even on easy difficulty. Unrealistic AI shots. They miss the easiest shots and pot the hardest shots. And when you snooker the AI it always gets out of the snooker and more often than not, leaves you in a snooker back! I love watching snooker but this is poor. Players look c*ap and you cant even create your own player. Waste of money

be aware before you buy this game. my computer has a intel i5 processor, 4gig radeon graphics card, 8 gig ram, all of which exceeds the higher recomendations from steam. however when the game did work, the movement of the que ball was juddery, after twenty minutes the game completely froze, it would not allow me to stop or uninstall. i have complained to steam five or six times and they will not do anything, no refund or no exchange. BUY THIS GAME AT YOUR PERILE. i am disgusted at steams response.

I have played nearly every snooker game released for pc or console. This is by far the worst of all. They have substituted game play and controls for graphics. The aiming aids are a load of rubbish and the shot taking, double click, come on 1980's golf game on a 286. With this result I recommend 'Snooker Nation Championship'. A far better game at a much lower price especially now with the updates. Otherwise back to the 2009 version for pc or WSC 2011 for console.

I have requested a refund after 24 minutes of game play, it is that bad!!!!

I had to download this game because I'm an idiot and made a deal with another idiot but it turned out to be one of the greatest decisions I've made in my meaningless life.

I've never watched a game of snooker in my life but I quickly became on of the greatest snooker 19 players in the world simply because I wasn't and I wanted to be. My wife and 3 children have left me and as of today no longer reply to my messages, however I am comforted by the fact that it isn't lonely at the top and I can hit Judd Trump for 147 any time of day.

I really just wish there was a touch more customisation options so I can make my player look a bit more ridiculous and for the commentators to stop hating on me so much, other than that this game is an absolute banger and I recommend.

I use to adore snooker as a kid and I thought this game would be fun, not convinced as yet it is. Hopefully the devs can address the few issues the game has.
Personally I find the aiming system hard to see on the cloth. It does take away some enjoyment and coming back to the game. It would be nice to create your own player and have the AI players with a bit more life in them but the aiming needs to be addressed imo especially at the lower levels to get players a chance to progress.

It's a good game for the casual and even competitive fans of snooker, having the chance to control your favourite player in the career mode is good. The only thing really for me is missing is having the chance to create your own player like all the leading sports games. Hopefully if they decide to develop a new game, that's probably what I would like to add. Another thing that's a bit annoying is if you wanted it to play like in real life say mid session breaks or sessions ends (after 8 frames) if more than best of 11, it saves it when you about to break but doesn't when your opponent breaks and it starts the match all over again, which is annoying as I have a couple of 8-0's or even just 6-2's after a session but because my opponent is breaking off, it starts the match from the beginning again. It should auto save after every frame no matter who breaks off. But for what I payed for it and believe me you probably want to wait until it's on a sale, it's worth the money.

the fact you have to pay an arm and a leg for the game and then pay extra for 'challenges'. I'll tell you what snooker19 I love the game itself but you can eat my farts on this one.

I'm on the fence on this one.
Overall, I'm disappointed in this game about a few things, other things are quite good. Just a recommend yes or no isn't nuanced enough.
I used to play WSC and such 10 years ago and forgot a bit about snooker computer games.
I don't have a feeling this game is any better that what I played ten years ago, on the contrary.

graphics:
great, no issues with this at all (the players do look like they have zombie eyes when they're breaking off)

physics:
I don't play enough snooker to go in depth here, but it does sure look strange that you can use side to completely change the trajectory of the cueball after impact with the object ball (and not just cushions).

other than that, more than good enough to enjoy a game of snooker.

gameplay and options.
This is very disappointing to me.
The challenges and 'how to play snooker-guides' from games like WSC are nowhere to be seen. Oh, you can buy a dlc, yes, of course, what did you expect, grab some extra cash to sell something that you probably took out of the game in order to sell it seperately. I hate dlc-policies.
The practice mode is a joke. You can play a game of snooker with an opponent (not looking for that), you can play a frame with colours and six-reds, or a frame with a timer.
What if I want to place the balls in a line-up, what if I want to practice shots along the cushion, or fine cuts, or only the clearance of the colours, ... no such thing, you start from the break-off. You can only change the position of the white, and retake a shot. Hopelessly limited I feel, this could have easily been implemented I think.

Playing a career is fun, although if you put so much effort in getting the physical appearance of real players rights, why not let us create a player.

All-in-all, if I could go back to before I bought, I just would look a bit harder to see if I could find my copy of WSC somewhere. It's a shame that in 10 years, snooker games haven't gotten any better than the standard set back then.

Whoever decided to make a SCREAMER music for a starting screen, you should know - I HATE YOU.
The physics seems OK, but the AI is still weird, though it seems like it has changed since the release. The AI shot choice is sometimes weird, and the difficulty of the pot seems to have almost no effect on the result.

This game is a metre wide and an inch deep. I only play this with my best friend as we are unable to in real life. It is no way on earth worth RRP.

No create a character.
No shot replay or TV view.
Trash graphically. The players look like they have had a face transplant when addressing the ball.
Crap nomination system.

If you love snooker like I do and just want to play and nothing else then get it at 60% off or more.

Everything else, its crap.

Very good game, it actually simulates quite efficiently a real life game.

The only complain would be the graphic's quality though. Many times there's a tendency to square some surfaces such as faces, fingers, etc, but in the end it's not so annoying for me.

It would be also very nice to have a career mode with my own created character, not with the already existing ones. Maybe in the future we'll have an update for this.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad a proper snooker game has finally been made and I'm grateful for that but it's just got too many issues to be sold at £30.

Pros:
-Physics
-128 players from the circuit with some of them actually having realistic facial resemblance
-Authentic table
-Aiming system (although still needs work)
-Commentary is nice although not very accurate and not much variety
-Career mode
-Practise table

Cons:
-PRICE!
-Characters are all same weight and height it seems (fat players are skinny)
-Same robotic animations for all players (feathers and shot are very unbelievable)
-AI seems to always go for the most ridiculous long pots and get them heart of the pocket almost every time
-Seeming impossible to get out of snookers

Would like to see referees being added on possible future iterations maybe but not essential. Really do question AI decision making though and their amazing ability to hit the most ridiculous long shots only to then miss the most easy pot.

Edit after 23 hours of game time:
I'm going to change it to a thumbs up but the price is still a big factor, if you really want a snooker game with real players and legit circuit it's ok, but I wouldn't if you're not bothered unless it's on sale. Another gripe, long shots are way too easy. I'll find myself going for the baulk colours instead of a mildly thin cut at the other end of the table because it's easier to pot. Even on Master+ aiming aid it's way too easy.

Best snooker game ever, until the first update came. Now, it is impossible to tell where both the hit ball and the cue ball will stop. I have played snooker all of my life and i have never seen a cue ball behave like this on a real table. Also, the cue ball crashes way too many times and from impossible angles.

I can't comment on crowd noises or commentary because i never play the game with the sound on, it is just too noisy and annoying

Really enjoying Snooker 19, very atmospheric and engaging gameplay, ball physics are really good which is the most important part.

So far my only complaint ...
I would prefer more viewing options in game, for example when I'm playing a banana shot, full length of the table, I would like to see the complete shot and enjoy the visual treat.
I have to admit the real life TV coverage make this mistake as well so many times ... anyone with at least half a snooker brain can tell when a player is going to pull off a fantastic spin shot or all round the table position wonder shot but for some moronic reason they cut to a close-up (that NOBODY wants) and we miss the important 'fancy' part of the shot ... okay they may show a replay but seeing it in real time as it happens is so much better ... rant mode off!
So, is there an option I've missed to view/play my shot from a full table view to enjoy it properly?

Apparently the previous version of the game wcs09 seems more fun to play. Controls in this version is too complicated and the sounds are not realistic.
