Über das Spiel

SPACECOM – a strategic-to-the-bone, starfleet command game in which deception, smart movement, and choices to battle decide victory or defeat.

No coincidence, no luck. Spacecom pushes your ability to strategize with a focus on real-time tactics and planning. Use proven maneuvers learned from military legends or devise your own plans.

Test your wits in single player campaign, go head-to-head with up to 5 opponents in multiplayer or experiment with new strategies in AI skirmish mode. Most of all, you'll need a bright mind, cunning, and sound tactics.

When the war begins, leave the little things behind and dive into austere soundscapes as you immerse yourself in starfleet command. From now on, what matters is your grasp of tactics and strategy, not how fast you can click. Spacecom is about creativity in planning, not complexity of game mechanics.

Key Features
  • Single player campaign that will test your wit in diverse tactical puzzles
  • Tense multiplayer - dominate up to 5 players per map
  • No coincidence, no luck. What matters is good planning and successful execution
  • Sound designed specifically to trigger strategic thinking
  • Minimalistic visual design inspired by military technology
  • Created to exalt smart thinking over fast clicking

"In a market currently dominated by MOBAs, SPACECOM is set to offer a more nich perspective on strategy. Focused on concise combat roles and managing supply routes, it's all about using limited resources, to outwit your friends." - GameTrailers.com

"What really strikes me is that all of this is presented in an incredibly minimalistic style.(...) There is none of the distraction of flashy visual effects or incredibly renderedenvironments, this is pure strategy.(...) For me, an advocate of game mechanics above all else, this is as close to pure space strategy as I’ve seen and I’m really looking forward to the finished product." - gaminglives.com

"Spacecom is an interesting idea, as a quick-play strategy game. In a genre that tends to frighten off newcomers, Spacecom is poised to be the title that welcomes them in with open arms, avoiding complexity while still offering that classic 4X feeling.

Keine Sprecher. Auch die 9,99 € sind etwas zu hoch.

The game is okay, and rather diverting. Something to play a while and enjoy the simplicity.
Here we have a 2d-map that contains a few bases (star-systems) and 3 troop-types (siege, fight, bomb). You need to upgrade the bases to get income and production, then decide what to build and where to attack. That is done under constant pressure to decide something and micro-management is necessary continuously.

Keine Crashs, Bugs etc. gefunden

| Neutral

Its a simple RTS, the idea is absolutely AMAAAAZING, but the execution isnt really there.
The game seems very unfair at some parts, i do not like some stuff about the game, if there were active devs working on this i would be really really active on this. buuuut... its dead.
I still LOVE the idea, its an amazing idea!

Very boring game all you do is build more ships and you win. No strategy needed.

The problem with stripping a concept down to the bare bones is that all you're left with are bones. At least in my line of work, when we strip something down to fundamentals it's to build it back up better.

Too much control has been stripped away from the player. Territories have predetermined uses (build, resources, repair). Defenses are a joke and waste of time/resources. There's no balance in the units, no counter-strategies can be utilized.

There's no strategy in this strategy game. All you've got are bones to play with.

No, I don't think so... - NPC from Elderscolls Morrowind

Bare bones tactics game, did not grab my attention as you send different fleets to complete mission tasks. (Three different ship variants)

Overall the sound is limited, models are way to basic and battle animations are non-existent.

I get what they were going for but it seems too cheap for me to recommend

Good idea, but kind of messy execution. I would love to leave a neutral review, but Steam does not allow that.

SPACECOM is like a space RTS, but where what you can do is limited. There are only a few ways to use units and paths that you can move down. Now it was fun in the beginning, but to me it felt like it got a little old pretty fast. If they improved upon the game and added in more units and features, I think this would be a good game, but as for now I'll say this game can be worth it if you can get it on a big sale (e.g. 90%).

Too simple and in the end can't hold interest for long. Plays like a silly version of much superior 4x games. The strategy in this game limits to spamming large amounts of units to win the game.

The take off failed. The rocket blew up during the ignition phase

Even the idea of a strategy in space already grabs your attention. Just imagine infinite possibilities, so many things we have seen on Earth, but space is even bigger! Spacecom intended to reduce the scope to just the starfleet, but still sounded exciting. Didn't work out.

Right away the user interaction poked me into the eye and my mind severely refused to read tons of small condensed text. Skipping the plaques of story I finally took the command of the fleet and was shocked. Why would you possibly want to have ships of the same shape but different pattern if they are DIFFERENT? Come on, there are more shapes than just triangle...

I struggled through the tutorial missions and the same problem with the text and shapes was constantly following me. Personally for me it is unplayable, sure it is not that easy to operate the whole fleet, that's why admirals spend dozens of years training, but this is a computer game, it SHOULD be intuitive. Maybe the game has huge potential, but I couldn't go past the beginning.

Cannot see you having fun with it.

Quite easy to learn. Fun game that I will return to. Who does not like some old fashion world domination?
Graphics are simple. Fuctions are few. It is all right, it is fun anyhow.

it's about time for a sequel.
This time .. I woul'd like to see a lot better multiplayer lobby .. a lot more maps .. and some user or steam community generated content wouldn't hurt also.

A nice RTS with no base building and just a few units and defensive structures. The AI seems to be able to build ships without shipyards sometimes, but overall there are several (13) missions to understand and develop one’s gameplay strategy. After that, there is skirmish against different AI levels and number of opponents, as well as multiplayer – if you can find someone to play against in this 5+ year old game.

WARNING: No saving mid-mission.

For some this won't be much of an issue. To others, like me, who cannot commit to long sessions this essentially renders the game unplayable unless you stick to the smallest of maps. As far as I'm concerned, then, the game is fundamentally broken. The developers were very dismissive when I contacted them about it, so I'll return the favour and not bother to write anything else about the game.

This at it's core is a straight forward graph analysis strategy game. It's simple to a fault after about an hour of play. The gameplay provides a series of graph maps that have three variables of defenses to overcome, the player has 5 options to construct fighting more the time than the actual difficulty, but often time for the objectives.
The main issue I have with the game is that the construction done by the AI is constrained by different rules than the player; to put it flatly it cheats. The AI seemingly constructs ships out of bases at intervals rather than based upon the rules that the player must follow to construct ships, yielding an artificial difficulty that is thinly veiled once one starts pursuing other solutions of the objective maps.
While the mechanics of the game are solid for a game of it's genre, it's very flat in comparison to it's peers and feels more like a stripped down board game for the computer.
