Als Fan der Filme, dachte ich mir, ich versuche auch dieses Spiel und war sehr angenehm überrascht! Schade nur, dass die Entwickler wohl nur wenig finanzielle Mittel hatten, aber das war beim ersten Film auch nicht anders... ;-)

Genial, sowas habe ich mir als mega Fan von T1 und 2 immer gewünscht. Man geht völlig in dieser Welt auf, technisch ist es zwar kein AAA Titel, dennoch war es mir eine große Freude. Die Schreckmomente, wenn so´n Blechgestell plötzlich um die Ecke kommt, ich empfehle den extremen Schwierigkeitsgrad, wenn man wirklich Spannung haben will und sich wie ein Soldat des Widerstandes gegen die Maschinen fühlen möchte XD.

Ich weiß gar nicht was ich zu diesem Spiel sagen soll...

WOW!!!!!!!!!

Für mich ist das (nach Half Life), der beste Shooter den ich jemals durchgespielt habe!

Absolut geniale Atmosphäre und auch noch eine wirklich gute Story im Terminator Universum, deren Ende quasi nahtlos in den ersten Terminator Film von 1984 übergeht.

Ich bin immer noch ganz geflasht!

Ich finds gut. Zum günstigen Preis im Sale ist es für mich als Fan der Terminator-Reihe echt ein Fundstück. Die Levels sind recht offen und beim Erkunden findet man immer was. Das gibts auch in anderen Games, aber die Atmosphäre ist sehr stimmig. Außerdem ist Schleichen und Craften mit drin und es gibt einige Waffen zur Auswahl. Ich spiels sehr gerne

Grandios! Das ist das passendste Wort was mir zu diesem Spiel einfällt.
Story top, Atmospähre top, Musik top, Spielspass top, Feeling top. Es gibt an diesem Spiel absolut nichts auszusetzen. Ich liebe es! Wenn 10 das Beste von 10 Punkten ist, dann würde ich dem Hauptspiel 9,5 Punkte und dem DLC 10 Punkte geben. Ein absolutes Top Spiel! Hoffentlich kommen noch mehr DLCs...In diesem Spiel wurde absolut alles richtig gemacht! Die Liebe zum Detail und die grandios ausgeklügelte Story Line sowie die Umsetzung...hier stimmt einfach alles...war jeden Cent mehr als Wert!

Tja, was soll ich sagen?
Es ist vom Gameplay her eigentlich nichts besonderes.
Es macht nichts außergewöhnliches. Weder besonders gut, noch besonders schlecht.

Guter Mittelmaß.

ABER:
Man merkt an jeder Ecke, wie viel Mühe sich die Entwickler*innen gegeben haben und wie viel Herzblut in das Spiel geflossen ist.
Die Plasmawaffen klingen genauso, wie in den Filmen, es sind ikonische Szenen aus den Filmen in Spielgrafik nachempfunden, sehr viele kleine (und große) Easter-Eggs im Bezug auf die ersten 2 Terminator-Filme und natürlich der absolut grandiose Soundtrack.
Für Terminator-Fans, die sich an die guten Filme, und damit meine ich Teil 1 und 2, wieder zurück erinnern wollen und sich schon immer mal gewünscht haben in den Zukunftsszenen zu spielen, kann ich das einfach nur ans Herz legen.

If you liked the old movies, it is a must ! The feeling to be in that cruel war feels real only the game is way to linear. 6hrs and done, the infiltrator mode is amazingly good. Graphics engine is unreal, so you have to handle some crappy textures sometimes. No crashes anyway. If you like the movies, buy it, you won´t regret it.

Terminator: Resistance ist bisher dass beste Terminator Spiel überhaupt. Die Kampagne sowie der Infiltrationsmodus, welches leider nur sehr kurz ist, sind echt gut gemacht. Wer also die ersten zwei Teile von den Terminator Filmen mag, der wird auch das Spiel mögen. Die Atmosphäre in dem Spiel ist echt gut gelungen, die Grafik finde ich super und besonders die Sounds sind echt klasse. Macht auf jeden Fall richtig Bock. Ich kann das Spiel empfehlen. :)

WoW ich bin begeistert von Terminator Resistance.
Ich fand damals „Terminator Salvation“ auch nicht so schlecht wie alle es gemacht haben,
aber das nun ist super.
Klar hätte man mit mehr Geld noch mehr machen können.
Die Figuren ist super, die Terminator Stimmung ist gut getroffen und in manchen Levels sogar noch
besser.
Eine kaufempfehlung für alle Terminator Fans.

Ich hatte verdammt viel Spaß – was ich seit dem „Dark Fate“ Film nicht mehr an der Marke hatte.

Für mich das beste Terminator was ich je Gespielt habe und was es je gab.

Sehr gute Umsetzung, Grafik hätte etwas besser sein können aber sonst Prima.

Das lvl Design war Mega gut passend zum Film. Story auch Super.

Die lvl Laden zum Erkunden ein. Mit Controller Super Spielbar.

Der Soundtrack war Perfekt und richtig angenehm. Er hat so richtig das alte Film Gefühl aufgerufen.

Die Steigerung der Gegner Klassen im verlauf des Spiels waren Mega gut.

Alles in allem ein Super Spiel danke dafür.

Nur weiter so liebe Entwickler.

Kann das Spiel jedem Empfehlen der Shooter und Story Games mag.

Vor allem für Terminator Fans ein muss.

Ohne größere Erwartungen habe ich mich auf dieses Spiel eingelassen und wurde mehr als Positiv überrascht, gelinde gesagt förmlich eingesogen und mit gerissen von der wahnsinnigen und tollen Atmosphäre.
Das Spiel startet mittendrin im Geschehen, der Protagonist, also wir Spieler entkommen nur um Haaresbreite durch die Hilfe einer mysteriöse Person den Tod durch Terminatoren, die ersten Minuten dienen auch gleichzeitig als Tutorial für die Bedienung des Spieles und die im Spiel durchgehend immer unterstützend den Spieler unter die Arme greift.

Ausgehend von der Hauptgeschichte gibt es immer wieder kleinere Nebengeschichten, die wir zusätzlich zum Hauptfaden erfüllen können, ignorieren wir diese, wie zum Beispiel die Bitte um Antibiotika für einen verletzten könnte er dadurch sterben. Ebenso können wir bei den wichtigen NPCs durch Gespräche vertrauen gewinnen, um sie später gegen Ende für bestimmte Dinge zu beeinflussen, die für den Verlauf der Geschichte von Bedeutung sein können, auch sind die Gespräche mit diesen Figuren wirklich sehr gut geschrieben und lässt uns teilnehmen am Zauber dieser Welt. Leider nur mit englischer Sprachausgabe aber mit deutschen Untertiteln, aber wenn ich ehrlich bin, dass merkt man bald schon gar nicht mehr.

Das Erzählen der Hauptgeschichte ist unglaublich hervorragend und packend gelungen, damit habe ich einfach nicht gerechnet, im gesamten Spiel merkt man die unglaubliche Detailverliebtheit zum Terminator Franchise. Von den Kulissen der Karten mit ihren völlig zerstörten Städten und Ruinen, dem Ascheregen der unserer Sicht erfüllt, dass Knarzen zerstörter Brücken, oder die Wälder die mit ihrer Wärme Unberührtheit ausstrahlen wird dieses tolle Terminator Erlebnis mit dem Epischen Sound nochmals abgerundet.
Das Stapfen der Maschinen, dass Zischen des Plasmafeuers, Raketen, Explosionen und der unverkennbare Soundtrack, es wirkte einfach so packend auf mich das ich mir ständig dachte, alles richtig gemacht. Im Spiel selber sind viele Easter Eggs versteckt mit verweisen auf die Filme, um das Spiel nahtlos in das Terminator Universum anzuschließen, dass tatsächlich auch gelungen ist.

Wer aber hier erwartet, dass es sich hier nur um einen Ballershooter handelt wird schnell eines Besseren belehrt, den als Neuling auf dem Schwierigkeitsgrad normal wird man bereits so unfassbar heftig gefordert bis man sich erst in das Spiel reingefuchst hat.
Einfach darauf losballern bedeutet gerade am Anfang der schnelle und sichere Tod, zum einen, weil die Munition sehr begrenzt ist und auch die Feinde nicht einfach so umfallen, gleichzeitig aber auch dummer weiße der Meinung sind, dass nur ein toter Spieler ein guter Spieler ist.
Der Spieler muss lernen sparsam mit seinen verfügbaren Ressourcen umzugehen und gerade bei den später auftretenden Terminatoren zu lernen, sich auch bei einem heftigen Schusswechsel stückweise von Deckung zu Deckung zurückzuziehen. Wenn man bei einem Sprint die Knien-Taste benutzt slidet der Charakter richtig cool über den Boden was mir zum Ausweichen oft geholfen hat nicht getroffen zu werden, wenn ich in eine neue Stellung zurückgerannt bin.

Ein wichtiger Aspekt ist auch das man feindliche Geschütztürme hacken kann und diese dann auf die Feinde schießen, dass Spart in so vielen Situationen so unglaublich viel Munition und Nerven daher empfehle ich diese Vorgehensweise deutlichst, Gegner können auch in bestimmte Zonen kritisch getroffen werden für zusätzliche Schaden.
Später im Spiel gibt es aufgewertete Versionen der Plasma Waffen der 1. und 2. Generation, die aber 2 Munition je Schuss verbrauchen, von diesen Waffen würde ich abraten da ich beim ersten Spielen irgendwann ohne Munition da stand und mit herkömmlichen Waffen die Terminatoren nicht zu beschädigen sind und ich dann leider neu anfangen musste. Wenn man möchte, kann man auch zusätzlich Sprengfallen herstellen und die Feinde einfach in eine tödliche Falle locken. Die Energiewaffen können mit 3 Chips aufgewertet werden, um entweder mehr Schaden zu verursachen, mehr Munition oder langsameren Hitzeaufbau zu erwirken oder generell weniger zu verziehen.

Die Spielewelt ist sehr erfüllt mit unzähligen Gegenständen, Briefen und Funden, dass es sich wirklich lohnt an jeder Ecke, in jedem Haus, einfach sich die Zeit zu nehmen überall nachzusehen. Das Tempo des Spieles ist abwechselnd von einmal einer freien großen begehbaren großen Karte mit Missionen zu actiongeladenen Schlauchleveln.
Im ersten Unterschlupf würde ich auch die Empfehlung geben, nach jedem begehen sofort sämtliche Rohstoffe und Munition zu kaufen aus der Handelskiste, da diese Materialien hier wirklich sehr günstig sind im Vergleich zum Sau teuren späteren nächsten Unterschlupf.

Die ersten 4/5 des Spieles sind einfach nur ein fantastisches Terminator Erlebnis, in den letzten Schritten gerade beim Showdown lässt dieses Spiel aber leider etwas zu sehr nach, da im Grunde nur noch abgehackt wird das dass Spiel eben die übliche zeitliche Geschichte erzählt, dass fand ich schade, weil es dann eher nur noch ein durchrennen war das mich im Vergleich zum Spiel nicht mehr gefordert hat. Jedoch sollte man hier nicht vergessen, das dass Entwicklerstudio nur ein begrenztes Budget zur Verfügung hatte und aus diesem ein wahrlich geiles Spiel geschaffen haben, das sich wirklich lohnt, dementsprechend erwartet auch kein 100 Stunden Epos, sondern mehr mit 20 Stunden Spielzeit für ein einmaliges durchspielen.

Eines der besten Spiele die ich bisher gespielt habe.
Wenn man sich ein wenig im Terminator Franchise auskennt, ist dieses Spiel auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.
Auch für Leute die nicht in der Materie sind, können definitiv einen Blick riskieren.
Alleine der Soundtrack verdient einen extra Daumen nach oben.

Terminator Resistance ist ein postapokalyptischer Shooter. Resistance baut auf die Handlung der ersten beiden Terminator-Filmen auf. Nach dem Judgment Day sind die Maschinen dazu bestimmt zu verlieren, aber Skynet schickt Infiltratoren zurück in die Vergangenheit, so muss die Menschheit sowohl in der Zukunft, Vergangenheit und alternative Zeitformen die Maschinen bezwingen. Der Spieler übernimmt die Rolle des Jacob Rivers. Rivers hat eine hohe Priorität für die Maschinen, zwar nicht wie John Connor, aber er wird gnadenlos gejagt. Ich finde es richtig cool, dass man paar Endscheidungen selber treffen kann und mit den Charakteren agieren kann bzw. wirkt sich deine Endscheidungen und Sätze auf die Beziehung aus der einzelnen Charaktere. Vom Spielgefühl ähnelt es stark an Far Cry und das Menü an Resident Evil, aber das Rad kann man ja auch nicht neu erfinden. Die meisten Missionen sind variabel, sodass es den Spieler überlassen ist, ob er per Schleichen oder per ''Hau-Drauf'' die Mission absolviert, ich hab beides bevorzugt, mal so, mal so. Der größte Pluspunkt ist selbstverständlich die Musik, die mich auch zum Kauf überzeugte. Die Musik ist ein Remix aus Terminator 2, den ist in verschiedene Versionen im Spiel gibt. Die Titelmelodie im Mainmenü war schon überzeugend, aber dann kam irgendwann der Moment, wo das Love-Theme gespielt hat und das war einfach wunderschön. In der letzten Mission spielte auch noch eine Variante der Musik, sodass man richtig gehypted ist, während der Mission. Für jeden Terminator Fan kann ich das Spiel auf jeden Fall empfehlen.

Ich kann mich selten daran erinnern das die Kritiker (oder der Metacritic-Durchschnitt) so dermaßen falsch lagen.

Terminator: Resistance ist Oldschool. Es macht absolut nichts neu. Nichts in dem Spiel ist technisch betrachtet großartig. Und trotz allem ist es ein gutes Spiel. Ja, man merkt das geringe Budget an, aber das ist auch kein 60 Euro Vollpreis-Spiel. Kurz: Wer mit Terminator 1 oder 2 irgendwas anfangen kann Pflichtkauf, alle andere wenn es im Sale ist.

Ich schreibe nicht oft Rezessionen, aber dieses Spiel musste ich!

nach ca 20 Stunden hab ichs jetzt durch- und ich muss sagen, das Spiel knöpft da an, wo die
guten Filme anfangen aufzuhören und holt mich genau da ab, was ich mir von den Filmen (nach Teil 3)
gewünscht hätte.

Leute kurzer Zusammenfassung ohne Spoiler,

Also ich mach es kurz. Wer mit diesem Setting etwas anfangen kann, sollte sichs kaufen. Hab alles durchgespielt und mir Zeit gelassen. Mit dem DLC, der Gratis ist komme ich auf 17,5h Spielzeit. Das man um ca 3h schneller sein kann ist sicher kein Problem, aber ich wollte dieses Spiel genießen. Hab mir am Anfang mal ein Video angesehen und fand die Grafik nicht so toll aber beim Spielen war der erste Eindruck durch das Video falsch. Die Grafik ist für meine Verhältnisse UWQHD mit einer GTX 1080 Ti echt Gut. Kann dieses Spiel nur empfehlen. Im Angebot ein muss. Zum Normal-Preis eine Empfehlung von mir!

Bitte beachtet das dies nur meine Meinung ist!

Für Terminator Fans ein Muss!!
Tolles und fesselndes Gameplay mit einer tollen Story.
Es gibt einige Momente wo man vorsichtig sein sollte, damit man keine Aufmerksamkeit erzeugt.
Einfach durchballern ist nicht, vor allem am Anfang nicht ;)
Der super Sound der Umgebung macht das Erlebnis immersiv und ich hab mich bei den ein oder anderen Geräusch erschreckt. War das jetzt ein Terminator oder nur der Wind und das Knattern der Wracks.
Besonders haben mir die Anspielungen gefallen die es gibt, die ich aber nicht verraten möchte.
Die Grafik ist zwar nicht die Beste, aber bei diesem Spiel finde ich es nicht schlimm.
Ich hatte jede Menge Spaß und kann es nur empfehlen.

Spiele mit Lizenz sind immer so eine Sache, aber Terminator: Resistance ist ein durchaus solider Shooter. Die Ereignisse des Spiels finden mitten im Krieg zwischen Menschen und Maschinen statt, wobei die eigentliche Story des Spiels in Ordnung, aber nicht wirklich überraschend ist. Interessant ist auch der Ansatz der Spielwelt, so sind die Level nicht nur schlauchartig, sondern auch offen und laden zum Erkunden ein. Und das Erkunden kann sich lohnen, da man immer wieder Rohstoffe und Handelswaren findet. Rohstoffe verwendet man zum Bau von Munition, Granaten usw. oder man kauft sich die Sachen direkt bei Händlern. Für das Ausschalten von Gegnern und absolvieren von Aufgaben, es gibt zudem auch eine Handvoll Nebenaufgaben im Spiel, erhält man Erfahrungspunkte und mit einem Levelaufstieg bekommt man Punkte um Fähigkeiten freizuschalten. Sind die Feuergefechte anfangs noch recht leicht zu bewältigen, werden diese spätestens mit dem Auftauchen des ersten Terminators anspruchsvoller, aber auch nur weil diese stärker austeilen und mehr einstecken können. Insgesamt ist die KI eher auf ein stumpfes Beschießen ausgelegt, taktisches Vorgehen, wie z.B. Deckung suchen gibt es nicht. Auch die Waffenvielfalt hätte größer ausfallen können. Auch wenn das Spiel keine neuen Meilensteine im Genre setzt, bietet es dennoch ordentliche Unterhaltung und man kann ruhig einen Blick riskieren.

Man merkt sehr wieviel Herz an die Details gelegt wurde.
Musik und Effekte ziehen einen von Beginn in seinen Bann.
Desto länger das Game dauert desto stimmiger wird auch alles und das Finale macht Spaß auf mehr.

Das erste Game, was ich mit Maus und Tastatur gespielt habe war Terminator Future Shot und Skynet. Games aus den 90ern. :-) Das war revolutionär und einfach ein Knallergame. Von da an nie wieder sowas Gutes gesehen. Jetzt mit Terminator Resistance habe ich meine helle Freude gehabt und fühlte mich in meine Jugend zurückversetzt. :-)

Für Fans des Terminator franchise ist das Spiel seit SkyNet ein wirklich gelungener Titel für den PC. Mit dem nachgereichten Infiltrator DLC wurde der Wiederspielwert noch mal erhöht und die Qualität verbessert. Der Soundtrack ist grandios.
Ich hoffe es wird eine Fortsetzung geben.

Terminator: Resistance spielt in einer düsteren Zukunft. Die künstliche Intelligenz Skynet beherrscht den Erdball, in den Trümmern der Metropolen tobt die Maschinenschlacht und überall lauert der Tod durch einen erbarmungslosen Feind aus Stahl. Wir erinnern uns an die Rückblenden (bzw. Ausblicke) in der cineastischen Vorlage: Die roten Augen der T-800-Cyborgs suchen die Ruinen nach Überlebenden ab, HK-Gleiter machen Jagd auf Mitglieder des menschlichen Widerstands und die Ketten der HK-Panzer walzen unaufhaltsam über Berge aus Knochen.

Die apokalyptischen Topoi aus den beiden bislang existierenden Terminator-Filmen sind in diesem Game prominent vertreten, ob bei (sub)urbanen Scharmützeln mit tödlichen T-800-Maschinen, bei Großangriffen auf Skynets Festungen im Schatten der Hochhausgerippe oder bei nächtlichen Schleichmissionen durch die Ruinen der Städte, über welche bedrohlich die HK-Suchscheinwerfer gleiten. Abgerundet wird das Geschehen durch einen epischen Soundtrack mit sowohl atmosphärischen Ambientstücken als auch bombastischen oder emotionalen Abwandlungen des Terminator-Themes. In einem kürzlich kostenfrei hinzugefügten DLC können wir alternativ in die Rolle eines Terminatoren schlüpfen und die Niederschlagung der Rebellion unterstützen.

Die openworldigen Karten bieten stets optionale Nebenquests, viele mögliche Herangehensweisen, so manche interessante Entdeckung (z.B. das TechNoir <3) und eine Menge Loot, welches wir später an einen Händler verhökern oder an der Werkbank verwerten. Zudem können die Waffen geupgradet und gesammelte Erfahrungspunkte in den RPG-Baum investiert werden, um etwa die Sprengstoff- und Schusswaffenfähigkeiten, die Selbsttarnungswerte oder den Hacking-Skill für die Übernahme von Lasertürmen hochzuleveln. Als Sahnehäubchen erleben wir romantische Verwicklungen mit den beiden Mitstreiterinnen und tiefgehende Gespräche mit den Kämpfern der Resistance, wobei unsere Multiple-Choice-Antworten letztlich ihr Schicksal bestimmen.[spoiler]Die Geschehnisse um die Zeitreisen ins Jahr 1984 respektive 1995 aus der ikonischen Dilogie spielen ebenfalls eine Rolle, und am Ende schließt sich der Kreis.[/spoiler]

Trotz (oder vielleicht wegen) des kleinen Entwicklerteams und des überschaubaren Budgets ist die Leidenschaft zur Vorlage stets sowohl im alles umgreifenden Setting als auch in nerdigsten Details sichtbar. Weder überflüssige Handlungsstränge trüben das Erlebnis noch unnötige Veränderungen des thematischen Kerns, weshalb diese stimmungsvolle Single-Player-Perle als würdiger Nachfolger des Terminator-Zweiteilers gelten muss. Aficionadi werden nicht nur den Wiedererkennungswert zelebrieren, sondern überdies feststellen, dass sich alle Elemente perfekt zusammenfügen wie organisches Gewebe auf Endoskelett.

Ein must-have für jeden Terminator Fan. Das Setting, die Musik, die Missionen, etc. Es fühlt sich alles stimmig an und man taucht sofort in die typische Terminator-Welt ein. Bei dem Sound bekommt man als Fan richtig Gänsehaut. Das einzige was mir gefehlt hat, wäre ein Cameo von Arnie. Das wäre das I-Tüpfelchen gewesen. Aber jammern auf hohem Niveau.

Bin ein Riesen Terminator Fan und kann dieses Spiel für Terminator Fans wärmstens empfehlen.
Teyon hat hier mit dem Budget was sie zur Verfügung hatten was echt tolles rausgebracht.
Hatte sehr viel Spaß bei diesem Spiel und habe das Ende gleich mehrere Male durchgezockt.
Gute Story, gute Atmosphäre, mehrere Easter Eggs zu den ersten beiden Filmen.

Ein Muss für Terminator Fans.

Ich wünschte, so wären die Terminatorfilme nach T2 JUDGEMENT DAY gewesen. Spannende Story, überraschend fesselndes und quasi offenes Gameplay alá STALKER und METRO und eine Sound- & Optikkulisse die pures T1 und T2 Flair verströmt. Absolut Top.

Bestes Terminator-Spiel seit 25 Jahren – oder: »Wie man aus wenig viel macht«

Im Grunde ist Terminator: Resistance technisch und spielmechanisch über weite Strecken Durchschnitt. Doch durch die gelungene Verwendung der titelgebenden Lizenz erwartet einen hier – trotz offensichtlich bescheidenem Entwicklungs-Budget – die wohl beste Terminator-Versoftung seit Bethesdas The Terminator: SkyNET von 1996. Und das überraschenderweise vom selben Studio, das uns mit Rambo – The Video Game eine der größten Lizenz-Gurken der letzten 20 Jahre beschert hat.

STORY
Kalifornien, 2028 – über 30 Jahre nach dem Judgment Day.
Skynets Terminatoren sind überall und machen dem Rest des menschlichen Widerstands schwer zu schaffen. Die Pacific Division wird nahezu komplett aufgerieben. Einziger Überlebende ist Private Jacob Rivers. Dieser macht sich daraufhin auf, Kontakt zur Tech-Com, der Gruppe von Widerstandsführer John Connor, aufzunehmen. Unterwegs findet Rivers nicht nur neue Verbündete – auch ein scheinbar unaufhaltsamer Unbekannter ist ihm dicht auf den Fersen, um ihn zu erledigen. Bald stellt sich heraus, dass der Private am Höhepunkt des Krieges eine wichtigere Rolle spielt, als irgendjemand vermutet hätte …

Resistance fungiert als Prequel und schlägt Bögen zu Terminator 1 und 2. Alle weiteren Filme werden ignoriert. Die insgesamt ordentliche, teils auch überraschende Handlung wird primär über solide, aber nur auf Englisch verfügbare Dialoge und Funksprüche erzählt. Die deutsche Übersetzung in Form von Untertiteln lässt sich am besten als »holprig« bezeichnen. Dass sich das Entwicklerstudio mit der Lore der Franchise auskennt und dieser trotz begrenzten Mitteln eine möglichst würdige Versoftung spendieren wollte, ist jederzeit erkennbar.

GAMEPLAY
Die Reise führt durch 28 Kapitel, die zwischen größeren, frei erkundbaren Arealen, kurzen und gradlinigen Schläuchen (inklusive Skript-Sequenzen) als auch entschleunigenden Aufenthalten im Stützpunkt wechseln. Bei Letzteren führt man mit einer Handvoll zentraler Figuren auch Dialoge. Hochkomplex ist keine davon, Entwickler Treyon gelingt es aber trotzdem, dass wir eine gewisse Bindung zu ihnen aufbauen und uns ihr Schicksal nicht egal ist. Das können wir ein stückweit über Multiple-Choice und Entscheidungen sogar beeinflussen, was sich auf das Ende auswirkt.

Level Design und Environment Art bieten nur selten etwas Abwechslung, die meiste Zeit ist man in zerstörtem Stadtgebiet und Gebäuden unterwegs, was natürlich auch dem zugrunde liegenden Setting geschuldet ist. Mancher Ort steht sogar mehrfach auf dem Reiseplan, dafür aber mal bei Tag, mal bei Nacht, was dann trotzdem optisch und atmosphärisch etwas Variation bietet.

Im Kern ist Terminator: Resistance ein Ego-Shooter, der sich teils klassischen, teils modernen Mechaniken bedient. Das Gunplay inklusive Treffer-Feedback ist gelungen, das Movement eher bewusst behäbig, verfolgt also einen realistischen Ansatz. Geheilt wird sich über mitnehmbare Medipacks, gegen Ende kann man aber auch Auto-Heal freischalten, denn Resistance verfügt über ein rudimentäres Progressionssystem: Für erledigte Haupt- und Nebenmissionen sowie Gegner gibt’s XP und so regelmäßig einen Stufenaufstieg nebst Skillpunkt, welcher wiederum in einem überschaubaren Skilltree landet. Obendrauf kommen ein Stealth-, Schlösserknack-, Hacking- und Crafting-System (inklusive Ressourcen-Suche in den Locations). Die Entwickler haben sich hier also bei allen gängigen Konventionen bedient, wobei aber jede Mechanik recht rudimentär ausfällt – aber immerhin einwandfrei funktioniert. Das Waffensortiment fällt umfangreich und vorlagengetreu aus: Zu Beginn setzt man sich konventionell mit M16, Pumpaction und Co. zur Wehr. Gegen T-800er und Co. müssen später aber Plasmawaffen und Raketenwerfer in verschiedenen Ausführungen herhalten, da Projektilwaffen genau Nichts gegen deren Titan-Chassis ausrichten können. Die Ausrüstungswahl muss zudem überlegt sein, da ein (erweiterbares) Slot-Inventar zum Einsatz kommt. Das Gesamtpaket der reinen Spielmechanik von Terminator: Resistance lässt sich am ehesten mit einer Mischung aus Far Cry 5 und S.T.A.L.K.E.R. vergleichen.

Gekämpft wird ausschließlich gegen Maschinen, von kleinen Spinnenaufklärern, über verschiedene Varianten des T-800 bis hin zu Hunter-Killern. Die (im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes) KI schwankt dabei von »vergesslich« bis »schießt einer Fliege auf 500 Metern die Flügel ab«. Gerade Letzteres kann auf höherem Schwierigkeitsgrad auch mal frustig werden, da es kaum möglich ist, schwerere Maschinen ohne Gegentreffer zu erledigen.

TECHNIK
Resistance verwendet die Unreal Engine 4. Dadurch werden beim Spieler zwar keine blutenden Augenkrämpfe verursacht, State of the Art sieht das Spiel aber auch nicht mehr aus – eher so, als hätte es 2013 versucht, noch mal alles aus der PS3 herauszuholen.

Die Locations sind nichtsdestotrotz stimmig und detailreich, die Atmosphäre, gerade bei Nachteinsätzen, ist gelungen und könnte direkt aus den betreffenden Szenen der Filme stammen, Waffenmodelle sowie -sounds gehen in Ordnung. Und erst recht die musikalische Untermalung, die natürlich auch reichlich Gebrauch vom bekannten Terminator-Theme macht. Am betagtesten sehen vor allem die Charaktermodelle inklusive Mimik aus. Hier hat man gelegentlich das Gefühl, sich mit einem Fallout 4-NPC zu unterhalten. Dem Aufbau einer gewissen Bindung zu den Personen tut das aber keinen Abbruch. Die Maschinen hingegen stehen ihren Film-Pendants in nichts nach. Es kann regelrecht unheimlich sein, wenn man bei Nacht in fahlem Licht einen T-850 mit Plasma-Minigun allein schon an seinen unverwechselbaren Bewegungen erkennt.

Grobe Bugs oder Performance-Einbrüche sind keine aufgefallen; das Spiel stürzte im etwa 12-stündigen Kampagnen-Playthrough zweimal ab.

FAZIT
Fans (oder zumindest Freunde) der Terminator-IP bekommen hier mit Terminator: Resistance eine kleine Offenbarung und die beste Spielumsetzung der Marke seit The Terminator: SkyNET. Alle anderen erleben eine in jeglicher Hinsicht durchschnittliche Spielerfahrung. Weder technisch noch spielerisch ragt irgendetwas besonders heraus, noch säuft es komplett ab. In jedem Fall merkt man aber einerseits die Begeisterung der Entwickler für das Franchise (allen voran die ersten beiden Filme), andererseits ist Resistance ein gutes Beispiel dafür, wie man aus sehr bescheidenen Mitteln das maximal-mögliche herausholen kann. Wer die Terminator-IP schätzt, schlägt zu, alle anderen FPS-Spieler bei einer entsprechenden Spieleflaute. Nur der Preis ist mit standardmäßig 40 Euro etwas hochgegriffen. Mit 25 Euro in den Midprice-Markt einzusteigen hätten es für das Gebotene auch getan.

ja was soll ich sagen....Bekommen wir hier ein Meilenstein der Videospielindustrie? Ganz klar Nein. Was wir hier aber bekommen ist ein durch und durch akzeptables Lizenzgame was sich sehen lassen kann. Schon im Hauptmenü wird man mit den Klängen des Terminator Theme empfangen und man bekommen direkt lust auf mehr. Grafisch hält sich das Game solide im Mittelfeld wobei das durch die doch recht gute Atmosphäre sehr schnell gut gemacht wird. Steuerung wirkt anfangs ein wenig schwammig dies gibt sich aber relativ schnell und man gewöhnt sich daran.

Finde die 40€ persönlich etwas hoch angesetzt wenn man aber in einem Sale die Gelegenheit bekommt es für + - 20€ zu bekommen dann sollte direkt zugeschlagen werden. Für Terminator Fans ist das dann schon fast ein Pflichtkauf da wir hier das beste bekommen was der Marke seid Jahren passiert ist.

Das Spiel ist wirklich ein MUSS für Fans.
Die Entwickler haben im Rahmen ihrer Möglichkeiten ein wirklich tolles Spiel geschaffen.
Es gelingt dem Spiel zwar nicht immer den Spieler zu überraschen, da die Gegner in der Regel sich zu leicht zufrieden geben mit dem verschwinden des Spielers...
Trotzdem gibt es immer wieder Schlüsselmomente wo die Angst und der Terror der Maschinen überzeugend auf einen Übergeht.
Allein die ersten Terminatoren denen man nichts entgegenzusetzen hat...also schleichen und rennen.
Später kann man sich zur Wehr setzen...aber bis dahin dauert es ein weilchen.
Es wurden auch Ideen anderer Spiele mit verwand.
Ich meine ein bißchen Splinter Cell und ganz viel Far Cry zu entdecken.
Dennoch hat dieses Spiel seine eigene Note!
Wie schon andere beschrieben haben, hätte das Studio mehr in das Spiel investieren können, es wäre ein Meisterwerk!
So bleibt immer noch eine überzeugende Story, Charakterentwicklung und das Verlangen die Geschichte zu ende zu erleben wobei der Schluss genial ist.
Es sind auch alternative Geschichten anhand der Entscheidungen des Spielers möglich.
Kritik möchte ich nicht äußern, da ich ehrlich gesagt davon beeindruckt bin, wie rund dieses Produkt ist.
Da haben andere Studios mit weit mehr Budget viel weniger vollbracht.
Wenn ihr das Spiel kaufen wollt denkt immer daran, das ihr hier ein Studio unterstützt das eben nicht von EA oder UBISOFT geknebelt wurde und das merkt man.

also wer ein fan von den terminator filmen ist , sollte dieses spiel gespielt haben ...
es ist seit langem mal wieder eines der naja nicht besten aaaaber der am nächsten dran games der letzten jahre ....

was bietet das spiel

- open world naja nicht ganz, level abschnitte die auch weitläufig sind dabei aber meist linear
- grafik ist ganz ok zwar kein 4 k high ultra super duper aber es ist anschaulich und man hat nicht das gefühl die zeit ist stehen geblieben
- der soundtrack ja da brauch man nix sagen genial
- verschiedene waffen von mp bis hin zum plasma blaster also ich denke mal genug auswahl , diese waffen kann man dazu noch tunen / upgraden
- ressourcen mangel hat man nicht also man sollte genug bekommen / loooten , looten , looten :-)
- es ist nicht nur ein reiner shooter sondern mit mmo elementen wie man es von zb fallout kennt ....
- story ist ok ....es wurden auch einige elemente aus den filmen versucht ein zu bauen wie zb der t1000 oder den truck aus dem 2. teil....

ich sag mal so kauft es euch und zockt es , es macht spaß was ich nicht gedacht hätte besonders weil das entwickler stundio keine millionen zu verfügung hat bzw hatte .....dafür aber was gutes auf die beine gestellt hat .

also klare kauf empfehlung!

Terminator Resistance

Terminator Resistance ist ein RPG/Ego-Shooter mein erster Gedanke war, ob das was wird mit dem spiel? Ich muss sagen Ja, es hat mich Wirklich überrascht. Es ist gut umgesetzt, obwohl da die Meinungen wieder auseinander gehen. Es ist momentan das beste Terminator Game seit ca. 30 Jahre was ich gespielt habe. Die Story: Im Jahr 2028, Jacob Rivers ist der einzige Überlebende seiner Widerstandseinheit. Rivers versucht den Skynet Patrouillen auszuweichen und trifft auf eine Gruppe überlebender und schließt ein Bündnis mit Ihnen. Es gibt eine Vielzahl Aufgaben und Nebenaufgaben. Es gibt eine Vielzahl von Waffen, die man verwenden kann. Die Grafik ist sehr gut (nur leider nicht zeitgemäß). Der Sound ist super und bietet eine unglaubliche Atmosphäre. Die Steuerung über den Controller oder Tastatur ist klasse das gesamte Gameplay kann sich sehen lassen.

Für Terminator Fans ein MUST HAVE!!
Ich selber habe es auf der PS4 und der Xbox One durchgezockt. Nun folgt die PC Version! Ich Liebe Terminator und die Story dahinter. Dieses Spiel ist eines der besten Terminator Games die ich lange gespielt habe!

Für Terminator Fans ein absolutes muss.

Ich hoffe die Produzenten erzählen, in späteren Spielen/DLC, mehr über die Geschichte zwischen den Atomangriff bis hin zu den erfolgen der Resistance. Da ist viel Stoff auf den man eingehen kann. Es sollte auch kein geben Probleme mit der Konsistenz, da es ja Zeitreisen gibt und darüber mögliche Änderung erklärt werden können.

Auch wenn es rein von der Spielmechanik eher ein durchschnittlicher Shooter ist, empfand ich die Story sehr packend. Um dem Spieler jedoch eine gewisse Furcht vor den Terminatoren empfinden zu lassen, empfehle ich die Schwierigkeitsgrade Schwer und Extrem. Dies gilt besonders für Personen, die schon mal den ein oder anderen Shooter gespielt haben.

Terminator: Resistance ist für mich wirklich die Überraschung des Jahres. Auch wenn man hier und da sein eher niedriges Budget merkt, ist es doch wirklich erstaunlich gut. Spielerisch ist es ein Sammelsurium verschiedenster Inspirationsquellen: Durch zerstörte Städte schleichen und alles nach Ressourcen durchsuchen, Quests und Nebenquests lösen, diverse Gespräche mit Auswirkungen auf verschiedene Enden führen, Schlösser knacken, Handeln und aufleveln erinnert frappierend an Fallout; Schleichmissionen, in denen man mit unzureichender Bewaffnung versucht, nicht von Terminatoren entdeckt zu werden, lassen ein ähnliches Survival Horror-Gefühl wie in Alien: Isolation aufkommen; das Einnehmen von Skynet-Außenposten und bewusstseinsverändernde Stimulanzen haben etwas der neueren Far Cry-Teile; große Schlachten erinnern an Call of Duty; und selbst die Hacking-Sequenzen sind im Prinzip eine Cyber-Version von Frogger. Es erfindet das Rad also nicht gerade neu.

Was das Spiel aber richtig macht, ist die Elemente der ersten beiden Terminator-Filme großartig einzufangen und umzusetzen. Die audiovisuelle Umsetzung erschafft eine unglaubliche Atmosphäre und spiegelt die kurzen Zukunftsvisionen der Filme perfekt in eine erlebbare Spielwelt um. Jedes noch so kleinste Detail aus den Vorlagen findet man auch hier, seien es Design und Aussehen der Terminatoren, die von den Protagonisten im Film benutzte Ausrüstung wie Rohrbomben und Schusswaffen, oder auch zahlreiche kleine Details wie Firmenlogos auf LKWs, Hunde in der Widerstandsunterkunft und, und, und. Die Macher haben wirklich ihre Hausaufgaben gemacht. Für Fans der Filme ein absolutes Fest, und ein würdiger Nachfolger der Bethesda-Spiele aus den 90ern wie SkyNet und Future Shock, die (mit den damals natürlich noch lange nicht so ausgereiften Mitteln) eine ähnliche Atmosphäre boten.

Ein wirklich schönes Terminator Spiel was die ganze Zeit über bock macht besonders für Fans der Film reihe.
Auf jeden Fall eine klare kauf Empfehlung die Entscheidungen die man im laufe des Spielst trifft haben für die betreffenden Charakter gegebenenfalls Konsequenzen.Es ist auf jeden fahl ein Geld wert dafür bekommt man eine menge geboten top spiel da haben die Entwickler ein schönes spiel erschaffen weiter so =)

Eine überraschend gute Filmlizenz Umsetzung. Leider bekommt das Spiel nicht die Aufmerksamkeit die es verdient im vergleich zu vielen AAA-Titeln die für deutlich mehr Geld deutlich weniger Spielspaß bieten. Dies hier ist ein kleines Juwel. Kein Überflieger aber das Geld und die zeit alle mal wert

Das Einzige was mir im Spiel ohne Ausnahme gefallen hat, ist die Musik, mit der Brad Fiedel die Filme unsterblich gemacht hat. Alles andere wie Szenerie, Steuerung, Kampf und Spielwelt kam mir grob, klumpig, ungeschliffen, eintönig und ohne jegliche Herausforderung vor.

Der Plot ist nicht schlecht aber vorhersehbar und enthält auch keine Überraschungen, die mein Verständnis des Terminator Universums auf den Kopf gestellt hätten. Vielleicht ist es auch besser so. Lieber man arbeitet mit etwas, das durch die Zeit getestet wurde, erfolgreich ist und funktioniert, als sich dämliche Handlungsstränge aus den Fingern zu saugen (siehe Terminator 3 - 6).

Habe es zu Ende gespielt, da die Errungenschaften sehr leicht sind und ich die 100% wollte.

A clear love letter to the Terminator series by a group of folks who have an immense passion for it. Despite a few crashes I had during my playthrough, the experience was 99% of the time flawless. Excellently written story full of love, and care for the existing lore. The mix of run n' gun gameplay and stealth centered missions struck a perfect balance, and the games length was just right.

Terminator Resistance is an absolute must-play for anyone who enjoys the series.

Terminator: Resistance is the true sequel to T1 and T2. No joke.

With that said, no game is perfect and Resistance is far from it. The experience is clunky with some dodgy animations and models, so my first impressions weren't exactly great. Shortly after, though, it started to win me over with the amazing presentation of the utterly destroyed world we saw glimpses of in the first two films; including genuinly scary encounters with T-800's.

The attention to detail is insane and really speaks to the passion that went into everything. The more I played, it grew on me and I embraced it more and more, with the excellent soundtrack elevating it even further. By the end of the game I felt we have come full circle and that it was made specifically for you and me as fans of the franchise, who've been hoping for a Future War depiction that's more true to the source material. It's the best piece of Terminator material since T2 and it deserves a lot better than it got.

Super fun underrated first person shooter that gives some really great fan service to fans of the original two films.
You can complete a standard play through in about 10 hours, and that's all you really need with this game.
Definitely worth it on sale.

The game doesn't have the latest technology or sophisticated gameplay, but it's finally the Terminator game I've always been waiting for. Fantastically captured atmosphere, many small and large anchor points to the films. The future setting was captured perfectly and you anxiously look around every corner to see what's lurking there. I would buy a new DLC immediately. I hope the game has made enough money to justify a second part. For Terminator fans a must have - it's the best and most gripping game of this fanchise so far - Very good job guys.

Terminator: Resistance is a good game. And that surprised a lot of consumers—not least of which was the mainstream review community. But the success of the game has led to more than a few false accounts of what the game entails and what it does well. For starters, and to be clear, the game is not especially excellent at anything. Rather, it borrows many different successful game mechanics from other, superior titles and places a slightly half-measured version of these mechanics in their own game. And this works well, as all the different mechanics borrowed are additive to the overall experience.

The game is, mechanically, a first-person shooter/RPG that occasionally prioritizes stealth mechanics in order to successfully clear levels. But it also dabbles cursorily in inventory management, crafting, action set pieces, and narrative choose-your-own-adventure story beats. Again, none of these elements is handled especially well, but also, none of them distract in a negative way. Which accounts as a net positive because everything is at least good or slightly better than that (except for middling voice acting). As such, the creators compiled a Frankenstein-esque video game that, compared to most video game/movie tie-ins, is a huge success.

Passing Judgment

The Terminator story is based upon an event known as “Judgment Day.” Judgment Day was a past event (or is a future depending on where you are in the movies) when the world’s defense systems became self-aware and went about systematically eliminating human beings, whom they now see as a threat to their own existence. Terminator: Resistance follows a group of humans in California who have scraped together a paramilitary organization to fight back against the machines.

Above all else, Terminator: Resistance is able to capture a suitable mood. Fundamental to all post-apocalyptic stories, the world's ambience must effectively convey desperation. Otherwise, immersion can suffer, and the player’s motivation will likely suffer along with it. To that end, while again not being particularly excellent, the story does create a (mostly) believable world, populated with inhabitants that are desperate to pull themselves out of the hell they’re living in.

It’s refreshing to see that time was taken to establish a memorable supporting cast. Without it, the game would have lacked the necessary verisimilitude. Outwardly, it may appear borrowed from progenitors like the Metro series. But that’s fine. Even if it never achieves the same level of polish to rival those it appropriates from, it's undoubtedly on the right track.

Being dull is far worse than being hackneyed.

Rock, Paper, Termination

The game is divided into sections of exploring a California warzone at parts near or around Los Angeles. You spend time at shelters, which act as video game-y safe zones supplying the player with story pivots and additional/optional mission objectives. All the optional quests can be completed while crossing off the main quests on the to-do list. And you’ll want to do these for no other reason than the additional experience points they provide.

The quests usually never amount to more than “go here and shoot thing” scenarios, which, unfortunately, give way to small amounts of tedium the more you do them. But it’s never game breaking, as there’s always a twinge of danger that colors each experience while out wandering the wasteland. The fear of dying keeps things interesting enough. Additionally, the experience points you earn are vital, so you’ll want to do all the quests anyway.

All told, the leveling-up system provides enough serotonin to make optional missions feel worthwhile.

The main reason for this is that, inevitably on missions, you will need to have invested some amount of experience points into any number of skills in order to clear checkpoints. All of these are standard skills (lockpicking, hacking, explosives), and naturally, you’ll sooner or later need to have a high enough rating in one of these skills in order to clear an objective. There is always a locked door, an alarm, or an enemy turret in the way that one of your skill investments will necessarily correspond with in order to win Terminator’s version of rock, paper, scissors. Subsequently, I began banking skill points to prepare for the inevitability of running up against a scenario that required (or was made easier by) investing in a particular skill. As you really have no way of knowing what the game will throw at you, hedging bets is completely appropriate.

You’ll also receive several different weapons to choose from, with minimally varied upgrade options. Some weapons have some upgrades that can be applied somewhat. The feature is not expansive, or original, but it's another half-measured attribute the game employs. It exists, and I suppose that’s better than not existing, but you’ll never spend a ton of time utilizing it.

Other than that, Terminator: Resistance is a standard first-person shooter. You go through missions shooting at things that shoot back. If the fighting gets too intense, or dangerous, you simply run away and hide for a bit—then pop out from hiding and shoot again.

Over and over.

Terminator: Resistance is its best when it's difficult. Indeed, there is an event around a quarter through the game that articulates this. The protagonist is surrounded by terminators and has no direct means of engaging them in combat. You must outmaneuver them. In this sense, the game borrows heavily from Alien: Isolation, which is fine, because the same type of gameplay loop works just as well in the Terminator universe. Frankly, the game needed more of it, as it struggles to find that same level of exhilaration once the player is armed to the teeth. Most enemies can easily be dispatched after a few seconds of sustained fire. Effectively ruining the need to play the game incredibly stealthily.

Media Scores ( = Low Expectations) vs. User Scores ( = Exceeded Low Expectations)

Again, Terminator: Resistance is not a great game. But no one expected it to be. And because of that, the community has been kind to it. Truthfully, it’s surprising, as well as admirable, that Terminator: Resistance sought to do so much and be so much more than most movie tie-ins ever dream of doing. There are just so many unexpected moving parts here.

The title delivers occasional sandboxes akin to Metro, stealth elements that sometimes mirror Alien: Isolation, and layered story threads in the form of dialogue selection and character interaction sequences typically reserved for AAA first-person RPGs. The story, while mostly comprised of genre clichés, is completely serviceable for a Terminator game. Indeed, the dialogue tries earnestly to get the player to buy into the narrative. And while I never completely did, it’s still much more than I expected to find.

And all of this comes with crafting, looting, and leveling tenants too! There is truly a surprising number of peripherals accounting for the whole here. None of it is deep enough to sustain itself through the entire narrative, but it’s sufficient for the price. And that’s more than enough, especially considering the lackluster cinema entries the IP has owned in recent decades. The world of The Terminator is, frankly, a pretty damn cool setting.

Terminator: Resistance is surprising, which may account for most of the dissonance between outlet critique and the player base reaction. Expect to be pleased. Not blown away. And you’ll find a real gem here.

The Metacritic score and poor reviews are beyond my ability to comprehend. What do people want in a game these days?
Terminator Resistance was the most enjoyable game I've played in years. Never got bored for one second. The voice acting is excellent and believable: I actually cared about the NPC's, especially Ryan and Jennifer.

The gun-play is good, the stealth element is good, story is good, everything is good. Nothing will blow your mind, but everything will satisfy. I found the normal difficulty to be just right. Died several times, but nothing that would make one overly frustrated. Started a second play-through on a higher difficulty and that doesn't seem frustrating either. (If it makes any difference to anyone, this is the viewpoint of a 57 year old who has been playing PC games since Windows 98).

I encountered no bugs or glitches, and no crashes. 100+ FPS with a 1080GTX SC and I-5 9600K. Ran smooth as silk.
The keyboard and mouse settings can be remapped for the most part. Seems like only the lock-picking was set in stone to A & D. (I got stuck on using the arrow keys for movement years ago and cant escape).

I've got new Triple A games on my HD that irritate and bore me, but not this little gem. I consider this game a steal at 20 bucks. Also got the Annihilation Line expansion and enjoyed it as much as the main game. I wish there was more!
Will DEFINITELY play this one a second, maybe a third and fourth time. Highly recommended.

If Teyon puts as much care into their next game, I cant wait to see it.

1) Timeline before T1, means what happened before Kyle Reese been sent to protect Sarah Connor.
- Explain a lot about what happened before T1 and T2.
- This game got censored adult scene which is doesn't make any sense since it doesn't give any consequences.
- U can feel how its like to be a member of Resistance(human) and a Terminator(Infiltrator Mode, free DLC).

2) Choices really matters.
- Have them stay in the resistance bunker or drive them away from any shelter, its your choice.
- Also grants you few useful items for certain choices.
- Resulting different endings.

3) Max at level 28, but 1 skill won't be able to upgrade, so spend it wisely.
- Tips: Prioritize upgrading Experience gain and Lock picking skill first. Stealth skill is the last after u done everything.
- Experience came from destroying Skynet's army n stuff, also came form Skill Book which can be found scattered around the map and 1 from your dialogue choice.

3) Various terminator models from smol to big chungus.
- Early encounter with T-8xx models really painful, we can feel the struggle to terminate them with normal bullets like in T1 and T2 movies.
- Higher tier terminators required better weapon to destroy them.
- Puzzle like weapon upgrade, pair same shape to connect the circuit. Only plasma weapons are upgradeable.

4) Graphics is not that good for game built in 2019.
- But u can use mods from 'wyruzzah1987' from NexusMods to make it better.
- Atmosphere really based on future war in T1 and T2 and OST from it.
- They got the sound right, specially plasma rifles.
- Easter eggs everywhere, devs really know what are they doing.

5) A.I is kinda dumb, kinda, not really that dumb.
- They are easily lost us when we away about 20 meters from them.
- Hard mode is like normal mode for other video games, just go for higher difficulties u masochist!
- Very rare glitch, almost none. The only one glitch I saw is a floating Plasma rifle, that's all.

6) Why there're bad reviews from IGN, Metacritis and Eurogamer?
- Do u trust the one who give 9/10 to Cyberpunk 2077?!! They're not terminator fans, just a person who enjoy beautiful graphics. I'm not even call them GAMERS.

Bonus:
U got motion sickness?
Just don't play with empty stomach, eat something flavorful before or while playing.
Or try chewing ginger while playing , it works for me.
Plus increase FOV in settings.

The best Terminator game ever and much better than any Terminator movie after T2. The graphics and gameplay are a bit outdated, but this didn't bother me much. The visual and sound were taken directly from Cameron's dilogy and the look of postapocalyptic future handed over just as we imagined it 30 years ago when just watched T2/

The game made by fans and for fans. I hope we'll see another Terminator game from this developer.

A lovely Metro inspired fps with survival horror elements, i loved the progression from hiding from terminators with your M1911 to by the endgame you are cutting through them with a second generation plasma minigun.

But best of all, it was made by people who actually give a crap about Terminator so 10/10

This is a decent game. It's not amazing but I enjoyed most of it, so I recommend it. However, know what you are getting in to as there are some problems.

First, the things that really annoyed me:
- no cover system, which is really inexcusable for a game based on both combat and stealth; mostly it is needed for combat but even if you mostly use stealth (as I did) there are scripted gunfights and you can't take any shots without completely leaving cover and taking a significant amount of damage

- poor checkpoint system: I don't mind if games use autosaves only, but there is a reason that most stealth games allow save-on-demand; no one wants to spend almost an hour carefully moving through an area, either avoiding enemies or taking them out, only to make one mistake and have to do the whole thing all over again; combined with the lack of a cover system, the checkpoints were insufficient to account for the amount of time you could spend in one area; a combination of autosaves based on time and location would have been preferable

- a ham-fisted attempt at a choice-based system that made little sense: the only way to save your friends is (minor spoiler) [spoiler]through lies, betrayal and sending them to an almost certain death (except those probable death take place off screen so that makes it better, apparently)[/spoiler] - it was added to spice up the story but was unnecessary and didn't really make sense

The things I liked (or at least am neutral about):
- the world design was great to look at and fun to explore
- interesting crafting system which was not complex but still enjoyable, and supplies were plentiful if you were willing to explore
- simple levelling up system but it gets the job done
- the developers obviously have a lot of love for the Terminator franchise and the game follows the lore of the two first films (which are the best Terminator films, in my opinion)
- captures the mood and tone of the post-apocalyptic world envisioned in the Terminator series
- the voice acting, dialogue and facial animations weren't great but not obnoxiously bad either
- relatively bug free (I actually only had one bug which was repeated crashing during a boss fight with no checkpoints - annoying AF but the rest of the game was bug-free)
- the enemy AI was pretty boring and predictable, eliminating much of the threat, but they were also very quick to kill you if you were out in the open so I guess those two things cancel each other out, landing the AI in the neutral zone

Overall, this game is actually pretty fun. It's not exactly groundbreaking but it's good for what it is. Grab it on sale if you like the Terminator franchise, FPS / stealth games, and post-apocalyptic settings.

Gameplay wise, this is nothing groundbreaking.

The story and music, however, puts 18 years of Hollywood's efforts to absolute shame.

If you loved Terminators 1 and 2, and thought the rest have been unsightly things in the bed, then do yourself a favor and play this game. Don't get it on sale; these guys deserve full price.

This game is an absolute requirement for anyone that likes the Terminator. Yes, it is rough around the edges, but the heart, thought and effort that went into this game from a small studio in such a small time more than makes up for it. The AI worked completely fine in my game, the art and sound design is on point. Animations are a little rough here and there but it's just some facial stuff to be honest, and you end up not minding it once the awesome plot gets rolling.

I'd even say that it's a requirement for anyone that likes their shooters and doesn't mind some slight jank here and there. This game ROCKS. Play it. 10/10.

If you like terminator 1 and 2! You must play this! Even the theme music is awesome. The menu at the start, threw me straight back to the terminator in 1984 with this fantastic rendition of one of the most famous sci fi themes ever made! If you’re a fan you’ll find so many references to the original themes, including the songs played in tech noir.

This game took me by surprise. I Thoroughly enjoyed every section, from the gameplay, the feeling of the guns, and especially the storyline. The build up of the action, from feeling powerless at first and having to use stealth to avoid the machines, to eventually taking on terminators and infiltrators one on one was a perfect progression scale. Many of the action sequences ( particularly towards the end ) felt as though you were literally playing within The Terminator universe and adding to the mythos/canon in a similar way that Rogue One felt in regards to the Star Wars universe.
Highly recommend.

Big franchise games often come with very specific problems, and, yes, the dev doesn't have a stellar track record, but this here, this is a great Terminator game.

It's incredibly dense atmospherically, whether it's in the (really well done!) stealth sections or the run-and-gun parts. Music's great. Looks nice. It treads the line between FPS and immersive sim in a universe where both is not just viable but which begs for content like this.

If you are at all interested in the Terminator (1+2) franchise, do yourself a big favor and play this game. You won't regret it.

As a shooter, Resistance is rather mediocre. But as a Terminator game, it's damn great and is packed full of fan service and remains inside the main canon of T1 and T2 and expands upon it as well as giving us answers to a few questions, this is a fantastic game for Terminator fans, not so much for anyone else.

While the game does stay true to the lore of Terminator 1 and 2, the game feels quite lacking. The story is very generic and does not add anything interesting or unique to the Terminator universe. The voice acting, especially that of the main character, sounds monotone and incredibly cringey. The game play is not that fun. All the guns feel the same with little to no recoil. Grenades feel weird to throw since they do not really obey physics and fall to the ground like you'd expect them to. AND what really bothered me was how stupid the AI was. You'd expect a game about an artificial intelligence taking over the world to have incredibly smart machines to hunt you down but not here. LOL. The terminators can literally watch you crawl into a vent, and then they will begin to wonder where you went. There was also a point where I hacked a turret in a parking garage and a single file line of terminators came walking in. One at a time each terminator stopped in front of the turret and proceeded to commit suicide with little to no fight. That was probably the most fun part of the game for me. I was in complete disbelief how braindead the T800s were. These are supposed to be the same as the antagonist in the first film that would stop at nothing to complete its mission. Even for a terminator fan like myself, I could not recommend this in the slightest.

An amazing game that completely honor and builds on the Terminator 1 and 2 legacy. Considering the size of the team who made it and budget it went above and beyond. Really hopeful that their Robocop games will comes out even better.

Do you like Raven Software and similar FPS developers from the 2000s?

Do you like autistic attention to minute details from the source material?

Do you like being surprised at the sheer breadth and scale of what a small team of talented and passionate developers have created?

This might be the game for you then! What an amazing throw back to games like Singularity and Wolf 2009, doing more justice to the license than any of the movies have since the second. Great attention was paid to specifically the look and feel of the future segments of the first two Terminator movies, the lighting, the billowing smoke and fog of the fires, reflecting off of the T-800s. Then it adds a crafting system, XP and skill trees, side-quests, looting, stealth, narrative effecting dialogue choices and a frigging romance sub-plot with the love theme from the first film playing over the climax! (Really, its almost like a LIDL Fallout)

That amount of feature creep and bloat could have sunk this little gem but it ends up just all working together with obvious charm and love, what makes the game look so good is helping to make up for the slightly lack lustre visuals (which also helps it run fantastically well) that very specific colour grading and contrast, the ominous fog.

I really can't recommend this game strongly enough if you like older single player FPS games, this is where I hope the boomer shooter explosion progresses to, a resurgence of the B-game.

This game impressed me beyond all my expectations and as a Terminator Fan I cannot tell you how happy this game makes me considering what a nosedive the recent movies have been.

The initial impressions were not good though. Dated graphics, unsettling facial animations, inferior day lighting and simplistic gunplay really put me off. Also it takes some time to have the story pique your interest. It starts off like a very generic movie game that feels like it will be mediocre at best.

Then the story picks up and you get to know the characters on a personal level. The characters surprisingly have really good depth and back story that makes you care about them. It makes me want to do the simple fetch quest for them which I would never do because their reasoning and story behind them is so pure and well done.
The decision of the writers to make a story that fits in Terminator 1 and 2 rather than a different timeline or just an unrelated game in the terminator is commendable. It answers all questions regarding whats happening in John Connor's Skynet future which leads to the first two movies.

I highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the terminator universe.

Absolutly fabulous! This is a very nice addition for any Terminator fan (especially the first movie). Always wanted to see more from the future war that was captured in the first of this classic super movie? Well this game shows it, and how!! Superb!

Sound effects are like they should be, you immediatly heard them before (in the movie :-D )... and the music soundtrack!!! OMG ... Just so nice to hear and feel it!!!

Nice story and cool build up from a weak soldier to a bad ass! As a shooter it has enough hours of playtime, compared to these days standards ... most of the shooters these days are finished in less then 10 hours. My first playthrough took me for about 20 hours, but i went to every direction on the maps, because didn't wanna miss a thing from this game!!

And then there is the infiltrator mode, which i still have to try out ... but, yes, this game rocks!! Lots of fun and very nostalgic for the older movie fans / older gamers :-)

I don't wanna give spoilers, but there are moments that you think like, of my, this is so super cool, that you get goose bumps from excitement!

This game is totally worth its money and your game time!

Edit : In the meantime i've tried out the Infiltrator mode ... it's a short free DLC; but heavens, this is Terminator at its best ... !!! I like it a lot ... and i really hope those producers will be back (with more of this game please!!!! ) Yes, I feel like a big kid, but the Terminator movies (especially the first ones to see them over and over again ) are amongst my favorites and this game, well ... it belongs in this row of again and again and again...

This is a budget title, this is not a AAA game but I’ve had more fun playing Terminator Resistance, than I’ve had with some recent AAA titles. This is a good Terminator game and the post-apocalyptic world of the Terminator movies can be a great setting for video games in general. Terminator Resistance does a fine job recreating this world and the game is very immersive. The machines are an intimidating enemy and there are plenty of different types to deal with. I mean, it’s entertaining how the machines are just pure evil and the unnatural way that they treat the surviving humans is pretty dark.

Again this is a budget title, the graphics and the scope of the world are not gonna be on the same level as a Far Cry game. The developers did a fantastic job though with what they had making Terminator Resistance. Once I got into it, I didn’t even notice it’s shortcomings anymore, I just got immersed and had a good time. Somebody needs to give this studio more money to take on another iconic movie series or even a sequel to this game. If you play through until the end, you will see that there is potential for an awesome sequel, with a cool setting. There is a lot of fan service in this game too and they really put a lot of love into keeping things fateful to the Terminator universe.

It’s fun to play, with some clever design and satisfying combat. The weapons feel great to use and there’s a good selection of them. There is even a couple of hilariously awkward sex scenes to be enjoyed, if you can believe it. Which reminded me a lot of the lap dance scene in Metro Last Light, for anyone who remembers that classic moment. It's also a fairly easy game to get 100% achievements on, as they are all pretty handy. I highly recommend that you play this game, especially if you are a Terminator fan, it’s a lot of fun and you won’t be disappointed.

i waited and got it on sale a few week back, game is better than i expected, a lot of stealth and running for your life until you get ahold of a skynet weapon, then you can fight some without it feeling like your just wasting ammo, hours played is extended by the stealth aspect at the beginning, must have patience. the terminators are pretty tough at first when all you got is plain ass bullets.

i recommend buy it on sale, i thought it would be a bit longer as discounts on it seem rare.

i left 3-4 skynet outpost untouched , which definitely would have added a few hours, did all other sides though.

Very nice and unexpected game.

As I rolled into another quarantine after travelling (thanks COVID) I was looking on how to kill some time and decided to give this Terminator: resistance a shot.
And, what a surprise!

Gameplay wise is very nice. A mixture of mission based/open world. The maps are expansive.
You easily can get confused, but not lost. There are multiple paths for an objective and is obvious that there is a lot of thought in how the missions and puzzles have been built.

There is a nice variety of submissions and you can easily get attached, ignore or mistreat your companions trough dialog choices and by completing side missions.

Enemies are scaring all the time but towards the very ending where, finally, you manage to acquire decent powerful weapons.
The T-800 series are really bloody annoying and nasty to kill or fool.
The AI is decent and will chase you. Sometimes a bit too much... but hey, you got a super-intelligent Skynet controlling them.
A nice Upgrade chip subgame for plasma weapons, Is ingenious: simple but addictive. Each chip will improve weapons capabilities and you need to combine them in a way they remain compatible, by make sure that some drawings match.
It can hook you for a bit.

Overall story-arch is a staple of this franchise but is always nice and is overall well done.
The game doesn't overstay its welcome. Some cutscenes are really nice and some NPC are really cut-out of real-world actors! I found it nice :D

The game is not perfect: the Terminators have a passion for you and can pinpoint your location even in the heat of huge battle, with explosions, lasers, smoke and tens of combatants.
They are overly precise... but I guess is one of the benefits being a machine.
I got a few crashes, to be honest, but nothing that reduced the quality of the experience.

Go and play this!
Easily best Terminator game after Terminator: future shock.

This game is the Terminator sequel we've all been waiting for since 1991.

Lore wise it is outstanding and understands that the heart of Terminator isn't Sarah or John or whatever other nonsense they try and force on us but the tone and the world and it captures both perfectly.

You feel like your decisions are important and your choices do affect the world around you.

It is an experience and if you like Terminator at all I encourage you to play it.

Now for the downside.

As a shooter it's... unexceptional. It has open maps that normally allow you to at least somewhat take things at your own pace but the game is otherwise unexceptional. It's RPG character advancement aspects feel a little forced and I dislike the crafting system and both feel like they're largely there for because modern shooters must have crafting systems.

Now, with the scavenger economy of Terminator it makes more sense than it normally would otherwise but it still feels crammed in.

Generally, if you're looking for a first class shooter, this isn't that. What it is is the best piece of Terminator media released since T2.

If you love Terminator, buy it.

If you like it but are not super attached, wait for a sale.

If you're not a Terminator person, you probably wouldn't enjoy it.

There are movie franchises that have that reliable comfort-food aspect to them, and can be watched repeatedly over many years: Aliens, Matrix, Predator; and occasionally also have spin-off games that are quite good as well. Alien Isolation, AVP, for example. I recall playing the Terminator: Future Shock demo repeatedly back in the day, and being delighted that I could be outside, then enter a door to a building in a relatively seamless manner, and discover a detailed and interesting interior, with multiple floors & objects to examine. That never got old for me, and the basic freedom of movement -- a fully 3D engine!! -- along with good audio soundtrack, just brought back the environment from the movie franchise in a very satisfying manner.

Much of that same feeling is in Terminator: Resistance; the sound and environments are good (do wish there was more texture detail though), shooting with a good variety of guns and throwables is satisfying, there's a straight-forward skill tree to fill out as you go, and....yes! The campaign has a plot! A straight-forward plot, but one that fits in exactly with the franchise; perfect comfort food. Characters have simple dialogue trees and you can ask them their background and about their experiences since the bombs fell, which I got enjoyment out of -- exploring these dialogue trees will have small effects on post-game cut-scenes. There are many call-backs to movie touchstones that will give a chuckle as well. All-in-all I'll give Terminator: Resistance a solid B score, and feel good about spending time with it.

7/10 The game captures the theme of Terminator perfectly. Art, music, sound, and story all fit perfectly with the source material. The game is unfortunately really generic, it really banks on the theme. It's also very inconsistent graphics wise, the levels set in destroyed cities generally look great to ok, all of the terminators are fantastic, but any environment outside the cities look pretty bad and human character models aren't great either. Animations are also a mixed bag, some look really nice and others are pretty meh, I can't remember if any were bad necessarily. If you're a fan of Terminator it's safe to say you'll have a good time, but you'll probably just play this once. If the theme doesn't really interest you, I would wait for a sale, $15-20 would be acceptable.

I think the game is good for the low budget production that it is. If it wasn't Terminator though, I wouldn't have been able to finish the game. The gameplay isn't enough to hold the game up alone, it is mediocre at it's best moments. But the story, albeit awkward at most times, was good. If you like terminator, and can overlook mediocre gameplay, this game is worth the time and money.

F.Y.I The game took me just under 11 hours to beat. And I did all the side quests, outposts, and talked to every character at every chance I got.

Also, I wouldn't really bother with the taking pictures mechanic, it's not really worth the XP.

MUST HAVE!

That's what I've been expected from new Terminator films since 2. Post-apocalyptic world. Plot based on classic 1st and 2nd films. All references: including cars, terminators, mannequins, plasma guns from classic movies. Big respect here. Great achievements system with money, ranks. Great dialogs system with relationships including having sex with 2 woman!

Verdict: now we have one more classic thing in terminator universe.

Wait! If you're expecting something GOOD, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Instead, though, if you're interested in an odyssey to the summit of Mount Mediocre, then carry on.

This game is a curiosity of the highest order - it redefines the concept of mediocrity. It is so perfectly average in every single possible way, so utterly devoid of personality, quirk, charm, and spark that it gains an aura of fascination. You can't help but play it, noting how every mission is perfectly average, every area has all the checkboxes ticked, every non-combat interlude hits the well-worn series of cliches you expect... and they all lack even the barest thimbleful of personality or life.

Every mission is in a large area, full of fairly realistic buildings, with little caches of supplies, lots of little robots to shoot or evade, small secret stashes, locked doors, vents, explodable walls... and it's all completely generic. Everything is grey or brown. Every robot patrols between 2 points. Every robot bigger than a dog paths past a red barrel. Every air bot patrols in pairs. Every open area has an open center and 2 lanes on the side where you can use busted cars to sneak around. Every locked area has a door, vent, or breakable wall, sometimes all 3.
None of this matters. Attacking or evading bots is meaningless - they can be killed with little trouble once you get an automatic weapon. Ammo is plentiful but hidden. Bots never flank around cover. There's no 'global awareness' - set off the alarm and kill 3 bots, every other one in the level is oblivious. There are no reinforcements, no traps, no clever tricks. Every area can be cleared, made safe, or trivialized.

I have never seen a game so dedicated to being life's C-student. It feels almost like some kind of Baudrillardian experiment in making the ultimate simulacrum of a game...

It's better than the other recent Terminator games - That's saying very, very little - and I can't help but want others to play this to try and figure out what's going on with it. Is this real? Are any of us real? Did SkyNET win? Are we in a simulation? Is this game a documentary? Am I dead? Is John Connor alive? Where's the Resistance? I need to get to Tech-Comm Command! I have vital intelligence about SkyNET and the war effort, but I can't seem to find my way out of this Steam Revi

Terminator: Resistance is best Terminator game so far, it has good story, which refers to events from first and 2nd movies. It has the exact right environment and design made from Kyle Reese's dream. It was just too short for me. If they are going to make a 2nd part of this game, I would expect a 4 players co-op and open-world with more activities (more quests, building camps, helping survivors etc) and world explorations (like Dead Island/Fallout/Far Cry series), also it needs AI improvements, Terminators could work together to fight players, and the harder players hit, the more resources Skynet would use to defeat players. Everything else is great and done right. Hope 2nd part of this game will be released someday.

There's usually two kinds of blandness when it comes to video games: the first kind is your typical AAA guff that sports only the most homogenised gameplay features imaginable to man, because it had less passion put into it than a politician's speech on promoting diversity, no ambition besides reaching for the broadest market appeal, and was made mostly out of the necessity of meeting the company's quarterly income projections.

And then there's the kind like Terminator: Resistance: a game where the devs behind it clearly aspired for it to be more than just the average shovelware floating around on the market, but ends up falling flat nonetheless due to a lack of experience, talent, and more importantly, funding, and as a result is remarkably unremarkable at best.

Playing Terminator: Resistance is somewhat akin to tasting an amateur's first attempt at making a gourmet dish: all the right ingredients are in there, and you could tell it was made by closely following the instructions every step of the way, but failing at grasping the subtle nuances, the end result was something that's just about edible, and does little else apart from filling your stomach. The combat in this game demonstrates this point pretty well, it's kind of halfway between Fallout 4 and Metro: most of your enemies are appropriately bullet spongy and will down you pretty quickly if they catch you out in the open, so fighting them head-on is generally ill-advised, instead it's best to use a combination of stealth, ambush tactics and environmental hazards to even the odds for yourself. This is all fairly standard stuff for an FPS, and for the most part the game pulls it off pretty well, so on the occasion when everything clicks, it can feel quite satisfying as you outwit the seemingly implacable Terminators and reduce them to scrap metals. The problem is, that's about all the depth the combat has. The enemy never evolve their tactics beyond patrolling a small designated area and occasionally stray from its path to investigate suspicious activities, so the moment you realise none of them have enough subroutines installed in their system to figure out how to navigate the indestructible terrain you are hiding behind without getting their robot todgers shot off, they cease to be a challenge. Even the initially formidable giant robot tanks that serve as bosses lose all sense of threat after you've blown them up a third time by positioning yourself behind a bit of wall that tanks all incoming fire while you take potshots at it.

And the same can be said for pretty much everything else that's in this game. The story really doesn't fare much better than the combat. Not being a Terminator fan, I couldn't tell you how authentic the game world is to the established lore, but having played the game from start to finish, there's hardly anything that managed to leave an impression on me. The SkyNet robots are cool and well-designed I guess, and the numerous easter eggs scattered throughout the campaign must be a treat for a hardcore fan, but none of the plot points are worth remembering, as besides not being particularly well-written, the generally meagre production values of this game also means the presentation side of things is often equally as poor. I mean, there's this bit near the end of the game where you finally get to meet John Connor, and it's supposed to be a climatically fanservicey moment where you meet the hero from the original work and crush the big bad together through the power of bromance, but I was completely undersold since he looks just like any other generic NPC, and has arguably even worse voice-acting. After spending 15 hours with the game, the only thing that I could remember from the story was the two token sex scenes, and only because of how hilariously terrible they looked.

Still, at the end of the day, I can't really be too hard on a game that had kept me mildly entertained for more than a dozen hours. It's not a bad little game to kill some time with, the shooting ultimately works, and there were a handful of small moments in the story that managed to get a chuckle out of me, so I guess you could say this is a game that's more than the sum of its parts. If you aren't a hardcore fan of the Terminator franchise, then the game probably isn't worth the full price it's asking for, but for a non-fan like me, at -40% off the price was more than acceptable. Treat Resistance as a throwaway sort of game that you play when you have a weekend to kill, then there's probably enough enjoyment in there for you to be satisfied. And considering the circumstances surrounding the game, one can't help but feel charitable towards the developers behind it. After all, the end product of their last attempt at this sort of thing was an atrociously awful Rail Shooter that managed to completely miss every point going, so the leap in quality in this game is one hell of a comeback story, with the pluckiness it displays making the whole thing all the more endearing to witness. And if nothing else, a game that turned out to be lacklustre despite its best efforts is still a million times better than a game that is lacklustre because the cynical money-making machines behind it were only interested in maximising their profit margins.

If you're like me, you probably didnt even know this game existed. but its a lot of fun. crazy how it wasnt widely marketed or if it was how i missed it. semi open world with a short and concise story that ties into the main story of terminator 1 and 2. it does it really well too. no crazy nostalgia pampering or story plothole magic. it works well and better yet, made me want to rewatch the movies.

gameplay is good too. AI is a little dumb but I looked at it as if the enemy robots were first generation terminators that werent too bright. not a very long game but more and more i enjoy 6-10 hour games over the 70+ hour games that just go on and on.

gun play is alright. nothing crazy going on here, just a decent shooter with some generic weapons. you got your human kinetic weapons and then you have your skynet weapons that are moddable and i use that term loosely. you have 3 slots and you can affect stats in a very basic way. you have skills that you spend skill points on but by the end of the game i had every column completed except for one which was stealth and really didnt feel the need to spend points in that at all. word of advice, spend your early points on lockpicking and fast learner.

all in all was a fun game that i beat over the weekend and feel like this was a really good movie tie in game that im surprised didnt get more attention. there is zero replayability. i mean you can play it over, im just saying i had no desire to. game done, story concluded, im satisfied, time to move on to another game.

this was a surprising game, i thought it would be not very good but i was happy i got it, i liked the story's and the rolls played , i enjoyed scavenging stuff and making better weapons , it was just fun, defiantly recommend, oh and looks stunning on max on a 3080

Broken into parts, the game is bad. The characters are bland, the writing is mediocre, the graphics are full of overused post-process effects, flickering shadows and objects appearing in real time, while the stealth mechanics are unnecessary.

Somehow the game still manages to feel great as a whole. The familiar post-apocalyptic grim atmosphere of the movies is a home run, the music is perfect, and playing the game never feels boring even when scavenging for parts room by room. The achievements are all accessible and the short notes are easy to find. A good game should be enjoyable and not too complicated, which is easily accomplished by Terminator: Resistance.

--- A must play for any Terminator franchise fan. ---

* Pretty much Elder Scrolls feel game for Terminator universe.
* Tin cans are still intimidating AF...
* Guns are right on the spot. Not many games pull off right feel for energy based weapons. This one DOES!
Both projectile weapons and energy weapons feel and sound just right. Also they are presented to player in nice succession. So that you can feel the damage output grow as you progress through the story.
* Music is kept perfectly in line for T1/T2 movie vibe. Main theme remix for this title is also worthy version. Would love a OST release!
* Story exactly as long as needed not overstaying it's welcome. Just as a good action movie.
* Infiltrator expansion map. While on the short side is a nice expo on how it feels to be in shoes of T-800.

Over all nice to see that someone got a Terminator license for game and didn't mess it up... Thanks for great game devs!

This game is probably the closest thing you'll ever get to staying true to the movies. It's made by a small company so the voice acting is pretty bad and the price is a little high for the overall quality, but it's also nice to support a company who understands what people love about the Terminator and did their best to bring that into a game.

The sort of game that has become so rare nowadays, a valiant effort to do something faithful to the source material with limited resources. You know what? They nailed it, the game is a very good blend of exploration, minor stealth and a lot of gunfights against those pesky robots.

This is by no means a perfect game, however, the whole package is fun and it has some old-school chops in it. Considering this is licensed game and the quality of the previous efforts, I highly recommend it to FPS enthusiasts and fans of the Terminator universe.

This game is great. I'm 54 and old time gamer, but I cannot keep up with some of the newer games as they are just too fast pace and very little room for error or exploration.

This game matches what I like in a game, perfectly. The story is good, dialog not drawn out, and game play just difficult enough to be challenging at times and VERY FUN.

This is highly recommended for Terminator fans and older FPS players.

The champagne can be completed in just under 10 hours, it's pretty decent in length. If you're crazy enough to go back and play through on the hardest difficulty, that will add a tonne more gameplay time.

A perfectly acceptable 6/10 shooter with a terminator skin. What elevated this game to an 8/10 for me was the obvious homage to the films, attention to detail, atmosphere and sound design which at times was very immersive in putting you straight into the 3rd Terminator film we always wanted but never received.

This is not perfect game and it is rather short so I'd definitely wait for a sale, however it does leave you wanting more. If you are a fan of T1 /T2 and were left unsatisfied by the horrible sequels that followed, I would definitely recommend this game to you, if only for the final action set piece and story conclusion. Makes you feel sad for what could have been.

This was the closure that long time Terminator fans wanted after the first two installments but never got.

It might have had a low budget but this has been better than anything that has been produced related to the Terminator franchise since the second movie. Imagine if it had a huge budget.

If you're looking for nothing but extreme fancy graphics, this will not please you.
If you're looking for the proper closure to the Terminator storyline, this is it.

As a Terminator fan, I really enjoyed playing this game. The story is great, shooting, graphics, scenery and the atmosphere are amazing, the sneaking around at the beginning because there is no way you can take a T-800 makes you feel on edge, and the soundtrack when later on you are fighting against countless Terminators... makes you want to just get out of cover and start shooting at them all! But don't do that, you'll die...

In my playthrough, the game did not have any problems. I have read some reviews and guides about settings and FoV and shading and stuff, maybe everything was fixed in a patch or something, but I did not tweak anything, and the game ran smoothly all the time.

Taking it slow and doing all side quests and secondary objectives, it took me 13 hours to complete it 100%. Be aware that it has no chapter select or location choosing. Speaking to every NPC is recommended to not miss out any side quests and getting to know everyone is always great for story development.

I hope there will be more like it!

The gameplay is generic, but the atmosphere is spot on, the characters are worth investing in, the storyline is interesting, and most importantly, it actually gives the future war everyone has wanted more of since T1 and T2's scenes.

Wow. Just finished this. I'll try and get the most objective breakdown items out of the way first:

PROS:
- Extremely faithful & accurate portrayal of the Terminator universe based on the first two movies (original continuity).
- The atmosphere feels appropriate. Never seems like I'm in anything but the Terminator universe.
- Weapons feel satisfying, despite limited variety.
- Enjoyable storytelling and character development.
- Graphics are decent (Needless to be said, this is based on my personal assessment and I'm sure that some would disagree)
- The finished product was not tainted by any hamfisted messaging or unnecessary addenda
- It is very easy to find yourself suddenly immersed/engrossed in the game and realize that a good chunk of hours have gone by unnoticed.

CONS:
- While the skill tree was functional, it felt limited
- AI could use a bit of work. A lot of times you could get away with a lot of nonsense because the AI would get stuck or it would have certain limitations you could exploit.
- Crafting felt like it was just lacking; just enough was offered to make it useful, but it felt like a missed opportunity
- Game length for the price feels average.
- Overall felt like the game's mechanics were just functional although uncomplicated. Seemed like it draws from elements that are present in other games and does so well enough that you are engaged- but nothing beyond that.

Would I recommend this game:
Absolutely

Who would I recommend it to:
- Anyone that enjoys first person shooters.
- Anyone that enjoys sci-fi with thriller elements and a splash of horror.
- Anyone that enjoys character oriented storytelling and progression in games.
- Anyone that is a fan of the Terminator series and/or universe (This game is a definite 'must have' for your library).

Do not get me wrong... This is -not- a perfect game. I'd imagine that this would easily be a 9/10 if a tiny bit more time was taken to flesh out what the gameplay offers. It is likely that the budget was somewhat limited and with a shortstop deadline which I don't mind forgiving. Instead it feels like a generous 7/10.

However- there were very few games in this universe that were good (both objectively and subjectively) or offered as satisfying an experience as this one did, to say the least.

What the game DID get right, E V E R Y O N E else failed at rather miserably: The universe feel, portrayal and continuity consistency. This was very obviously crafted by people that had love for the intellectual property and the original movies. The chain of film sequels that followed Terminator 2 was somewhat embarrassing with more misses than hits. Everything was done to re-invent or outshine its predecessors unnecessarily or in a manner that doesn't function well and fundamentally failed in one or (usually) multiple ways. While it's not a sin to have directors and writers re-shaping the continuity or overall nature of an IP/Universe... It's damned unfortunate that the storytelling, character development or overall 'flavor' suffers due to excessive creative liberties or backhanded messaging.

I honestly had no quarrel with the points where this game did not shine- or at the very least found it far less important than what it had gotten right.

EDIT: Forgot to mention... As of this writing, the game runs very well on Linux via Proton (5.0-7).

Overall this is a great game and you will not regret picking it up on sale if you're a Terminator fan. It does fan service very well and truly feels like you're in the movie we always wanted made. The best things this game do are story with characters and atmosphere, the same as the movies: the feeling of hiding while a Hunter-Killer gunship flies above you or there's a pack of twenty T-800's walking past you (or are banging on a door you've locked yourself inside while you await your doom), or a Hunter-Killer Tank has its lights trying to spot you has been nailed. It creates the fear and suspense of the movies, and makes the future a truly dismal place to be avoided at all costs (but still gives you the fun of 'turning those metal mofos to junk' like you always wanted to try in the same way as the zombie apocalypse).

The game was only made by 30 or so staff, and it does show but they got it right where it matters: The graphics up close are very dated but the scenery from afar is beautiful. It has ultrawide support and ran smoothly for me. The AI is a little weak at times and they do glitch and get stuck on things; and there are a few immersion-breaking things like how explosions can't kill you behind the smallest barrier as long as you're crouched, and cars are bulletproof and buildings take every kind explosion. The guns don't feel smooth like Call of Duty or even Battlefield or Far Cry, but do have character and do the job and are satisfying, maybe more like Halo - but they can be frustratingly inconsistent at times. The animations aren't great - you get used to the dialogue and the voice acting is good enough with great character structuring so that's not a problem; my main issue with the animations are the abrupt stop-start movement of the enemies which makes them very hard to hit. The combat is passable but very disconnected, even compared with the original Halo. Sniper bullets will inconsistently down a Terminator or just be swallowed like a marshmallow. The guns are spaced out well so that you get a new one just as the old one sucks, and the modifications are basic but effective to keep it fresh and make the gun yours.

The Terminators start off very strong but don't get any stronger as you do, so more powerful guns are proper rewarding - lots of games scale it like Destiny and the increase in firepower is necessary rather than rewarding. The story is fantastic and I can't emphasise how well the game plays homage to the source content while adding its own story - John Connor is not part of the main story, and it's very much about your journey. Your decisions gradually have larger impacts as the story progresses, and different characters try and throw you in different directions so you have to choose who you trust, which makes it compelling and gives reason for multiple play-throughs. The hardest difficulty is well balanced if you don't mind being punished and redoing sections until you deserve to progress (I play most games on the hardest like DOOM on Nightmare and love it, but MW2 had bad aim-punch that made shooting back hard - this game does it right like DOOM).

Buy this game for the story and Terminator experience and play it all the way through (it starts off a little slower but is well worth it - it had me shaking with the thriller sections as Terminators hunt you with headphones on late at night, and some decisions made me put the game down for days before I made my mind up and still had me second-guessing myself because I didn't want to cheat by looking online).

The reception was good so it's likely there may be DLC or a sequel. I hope they put as much time into storyboarding the next one. It would be cool to continue on kind-of like how Wolfenstein did where you plug in the decisions you made in the previous game at the start and the story takes off right where you left off. It would be cool if you then go back in time and there is story before Judgement Day and you're on the run more. If the next game got more budget, I'd like to see better animations and textures. Open-world to a larger degree maybe like GTA would be cool. Destructible environments like Battlefield would be awesome. Flying drone Terminators and spiders and rolly ones were a little silly and could be altered to be a little more menacing and smarter. Cars which mounted guns and co-op would be awesome. But I hope the game would stay to its roots and prioritise staying true to the story and creating the atmosphere and feeling of despair and camaraderie, because that's what's made this memorable and worthy of the Terminator title.

If you are a Terminator fan. Sure, get the game.

But the game is too expensive for what it offers. The technical quality feels like this was released in 2015. It is easy to cheese the enemy and there are a lot of bugs. The gameplay is too simplistic.

If you're curious about this game, wait for a sale.

A Terminator game that brings the franchise back to its original roots. This game just makes me want to forget about Terminator: Dark Fate ever happening, which in my opinion is probably for the best. Instead of rebooting the timeline constantly like the movies plus The Sarah Connor Chronicles have, we get to relive the future war described in the first two films. No identity politics, no microtransactions, and no game-breaking bugs. Just a good-old first person shooter that pays more respect to James Cameron's creation than other latest titles.

I was shocked to see this game has a 93% on here, being a movie tie-in game and coming from a franchise that hasn't been the best in recent years. It didn't take long to figure out why. It's a simple, streamlined game that doesn't try to be more than it is and added just enough on the sides to keep things interesting. Also, the first time you encounter Terminators the music and atmosphere does a very good job at making you feel actually scared for you bloody life just like a real survivor in that situation would be instead of handing you a plasma rifle right off the bat, haha.

Even when you get the weaponry that can damage the Terminators, you're still just a squishy human bean that will die in an open firefight with them. You really have to think and plan and use your environment by hacking turrets and luring the Robo Bois into traps until you get the best plasma weapons.

There were a couple actually kind of compelling moral quandaries that had me stop and think for a couple of seconds.

The game doesn't look the best but it runs very smoothly on high setting even on my mid-tier compy.

Definitely recommend, especially if it's on sale. This was an unexpected gem of a shooter that delivers what it promises.

What a surprise. The Reviewers (press) dont like it. Gamers like it. Well, its not a tripple-A game - thats for sure but it is actually good. Feels very old school. Ok graphics (se nvidia sharpening in the cp) and ok story. Also, to play a game from start to end without chrash feels unreal (no pun intended). Grab it at next sale and have som fun.

I´ll be back.
