And it almost plays like an interactive Wallace and Gromit movie, being made out of clay and all.

Review for the whole game:

It's very good. I liked everything about it; the visuals, story, puzzles, atmosphere.

May have some disturbing things in it, but I'm an adult and handled it like an adult.

I would buy again.

PS: I did receive the first 2 Chapters for free.

Mysterious, intriguing, visceral, graphic, disturbing.

The dream machine is a great game. One that shows why video-games are an important media, that is able to entertain, but at the same time is able to make you think, make you question, and make you dream (pun intended).

Warning: The game runs on Flash, a technology that is no longer alive and that does not receives support anymore. Because of this, the game can present some weird bugs in some computers, including crashes. So do not blindly trust its auto-save system. Save it manually whenever you feel that you did some important progress.

The Dream Machine is an odd game to play in 2021. So many of its ideas have been expanded upon since its inception almost a decade ago, in other games including favorites like Psychonauts, To the Moon, and AI: The Somnium Files, to name a few. But while the general premise seems to tread familiar ground, Victor Neff and the tragic stories of the house terrorized by a sentient dream machine capture a unique energy when combined with the unsettling art style and animation.

First and foremost, this game is a psychological thriller mixed with a point-and-click adventure game. While much of the game is running around and collecting items to use on other items found in the world, the actual act of playing the game is always built on tension and fear, questioning the player on if they are making the right decision. Many of the characters you meet on the journeys through the dreamscape are tortured, grieving, and solemn, and Victor only serves as another source of pain for many of these people to achieve his own goal of ending his family's suffering. This cyclical nature of sadness permeates much of the narrative elements of the Dream Machine, making it a much more serious effort than many in its genre. That said, many of the puzzles and solutions were fun to figure out and there were not many combinations of answers that I would deem unfair or jumping the shark with its logic, even in regards to events happening within a dream, which is an achievement.

Speaking of achievements, the game's presentation is a marvel. The crude character models and DIY environments are full of detail and care, and there are so many more locations and objects than I expected for a game on this scale. Some of the set pieces are brilliant, and it serves the game well to constantly have something new to look at, while having instantly recognizable locations to return to by the same token. The music also deserves a special shoutout, only aiding to the dread captured by every moment of the machine's fleeting existence.

The game's chapter-based structure makes it easier to digest. Playing in sections felt natural, and most of the chapters fell between an hour or so in length, making it a great game to pick up and play. The fifth chapter is the longest by a stretch, but it is easily tackled at once or in pieces due to generous autosaves and multiple available save slots. However, the game runs poorly in general. Even on my moderate PC rig, the game struggles to stay consistent in framerate and the game's text and animations slow significantly after a longer play session. It seems like the engine has not been optimized for modern hardware, which is a shame because some of the game's areas suffer needlessly as a result.

Technical issues aside, The Dream Machine is a disturbing, but ultimately pensive lens into the world of dreams, fatherhood, and redemption and while it may not be for even some niche audiences, it's worth giving the first few chapters a fair shake to see where it lands for you.

I got these two chapters for free during a limited time event, and I just came around to playing them now. I have to say that I was very pleased with how the game looked and how the story unfolded. I find that the story was very addicting and the suspense was present. I will definitely be buying the other chapters in the near future.

Although I enjoyed playing this game for the most part, I have to make this review to give you a few warnings.
This will contain SPOILERS as there are some points in the game I really wish I knew about beforehand.

I played the first 2 chapters a long time ago and I was very impressed with the artwork and the story. Then I had to wait till the other chapters released and then decided to stream it on Twitch.
The clay and cardboard surroundings are beautiful. The look is somewhat grim, but I really appreciate the time that was put into it. I enjoyed playing most of the story until certain points.
Let me dive into that.

This game can be very upsetting if you have issues with abortion and/or depression. There is some gore (“blood and dead bodies”) as well, but I usually don’t mind that. In this game it is made out of clay, I had no problems with it, but it can be quite sudden and can be uncomfortable. I didn’t expect it going off the story in the first 2 chapters.
Moving on, the puzzles and story keep me interested, the surroundings are interesting as well. Then we get to the dreams of the people on the top level of the building. Here is where things can get somewhat iffy. I want to say slightly disturbing, but that depends on who plays it. You have to talk to an abyss and it wants you to say very belittling things. You have to do this in order to move forward in the story. You can click through it fast if you have to, but if you have depression, these lines can be very confronting and unexpected. This happens later on in the game as well. All I want is for you to be aware of that, in case you have depression.
Now there are games that handle a topic like this very well, in here it doesn’t really seem necessary.

Fast forward to chapter 6:
Now here is where I have big problems. Let me get straight to the point: You have to walk into your mother’s vagina and then kill your baby self by stabbing it through the head with a clothing hanger.
Yeah.

I don’t know what the developers were thinking with this. This seems way too much and didn’t have to be in the story at all. It could have been resolved in many other ways, but instead they chose this. I streamed this live and the feedback I got was only shock and disgust. I rapidly clicked through it as I knew I was close to the end, but right after that happened, I stopped playing this game. I was very uncomfortable and I wished there was some sort of warning for this.

I finished the game off stream to see what happened in the ending. I was hoping for an explanation or something else that would make me feel better. I didn’t get that. The last chapter left me very disappointed.

Still, I think the artwork in the game looks great. I loved seeing all the clay, cardboard and broccoli creations. And I do not mind the darker games, at all. But I did find myself to be disturbed by this.
I can only recommend this game if you do not have issues with abortion, or have depression. Because you might find this disturbing at a few points.

Really incredible and different video game. I don't often play point and click adventures but the art style and free first chapter drew me in. I ended up buying all the chapters and it was well worth it. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of time the creator of this game put into JUST the art. Plus, the story is great. It's varying degrees of challenging, weird, and really clever stuff. Highly recommended.

As of right now (5/30/2021) I could not in good conscience recommend this game, from how far I got into the game I can tell that it is a very good story game BUT my fps kept dropping CONSTANTLY from a stable 60 FPS all the way down to 5 even 1 FPS, and this was happening throughout my entire time playing. If the dev fixes this then I will recommend it, but in the meantime I can't, this bug is just too unbearable.
P.S: (I issued a refund and will be willing to pay for it again if this gets fixed)

The Dream Machine turned out to be a very well done and engaging point and click adventure. It starts a bit slow, with the main character (Victor) and his pregnant wife moving into a new apartment. Soon, they discover that their landlord has a hidden agenda and the story turns into a journey through dreams in an attempt to defeat evil. The use of 'dreamscapes' means that the game contains a diversity of landscapes, puzzles, and characters.

The clay and cardboard designs are amazing and the scenery is more detailed than I was expecting. The puzzles are not terribly hard and are all well integrated into the story. There are a couple of side quests (with missable achievements) that are challenging and fun. Although the dialog is well written, there is a lot to read, without voice overs. The story is quite creative and the plot twists and turns with surprising layers of complexity. The sound track is also engaging.

The game was released in 6 separate chapters and I played through them all. The first 5 were my favorites and I think the story could have concluded there. The last chapter is a bit obtuse, with metaphysical themes. It is more dependent on activating specific dialog entries than the kind of puzzles that were included in earlier chapters. I found it a bit tedious but enjoyed how it threaded together items from previous chapters. A 'fast travel' map is included which saves time as you do a bit of trekking between scenes to gather items you need.

The game autosaves regularly but also includes multiple slots for manual saves (which I used often). These are handy for achievement hunters because there are a couple of places where permanent decisions are required which impact game progress. By using the save slots, 100% is possible without replaying.

I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a PNC game that strays from the ordinary and holds your attention all the way through.

An excellent, excellent exercise in art and design. Tackles haunting questions and fears without really even pretending to have an answer or being ham-fisted while putting the question in the players face. The puzzles are fair I found and logical to, at least to me, a good extent. I spent an hour or so on a few puzzles in particular, but the engaging dialogue and beautiful world held my attention during these puzzling stretches. Excellent, excellent piece of interactive art and story telling. I'm only disappointed that I may never play a game like it again, let alone one with the same beautiful art style.

The Dream Machine is a point-and-click adventure with a clay and cardboard art style. There were times this game put me to sleep. Not due to boredom (although there are some mundane parts), but due to a lot of reading and a relaxing/dreamy soundtrack. Overall, the story and puzzles were very good and peaked my interest. The game was longer than I expected. It will take you to some dark places and require some disturbing actions (as dreams often do), but the journey is worth it.

It's just a dream...

The Dream Machine is a miraculously great point & click adventure game in the style of classics in the genre, like Grim Fandango and the Monkey Island series. Where The Dream Machine differs is in its delivery. It is an extraordinarily beautiful game, the result of ten years of hard work and graft from just two developers. In an attempt to keep this review brief (so that I might move on to review the other chapters elsewhere), I will simply state the strengths of the game as a whole before quickly reviewing chapters 1 & 2.

The Dream Machine deals with a lot of subject matter that isn't typically approached as a subject for discussion in video games. It is often meditative and requires a certain amount of thought after each play session. It is a work of art in more than just the visual medium (although it is worth noting, every different screen in this game is beautiful and engrossing in its own way), and is philosophically intelligent and mature. Puzzles are intellectually stimulating and make you feel clever when you solve them. It is worth noting that the puzzles in the earlier chapters are far weaker comparatively to later chapters, where it is clear the developers have honed their craft over the years.

The Dream Machine is also marvelously written. As an amateur writer, I know how hard it is to maintain a consistent tone while ensuring that the reader is engaged by the material. The Dream Machine manages to be at times laugh-out-loud funny, genuinely horrifying, and heartwrenchingly, tear-jerkingly, emotional. It is among the finest examples of video game writing I have ever had the pleasure of coming across. Like the puzzles, it is obvious that the developers have refined their skill over the years, and the quality and sincerity of the writing, while great from the get-go, only gets better with time. It is no understatement to say that The Dream Machine is one of the best point & click games I have ever played, and one of the finest examples in the genre out there.

The first chapter begins sedately, and eases you into the experience. A simple puzzle showcases the knowledge that Cockroach Inc. have regarding adventure game design, and you are introduced to the world and characters in a seamless, quiet way. Having breakfast on a cardboard box with your partner is a particular highlight, a way for the developers to ground you in a slice of life. It feels remarkably genuine, and the connection with your spouse is immediately established. The first chapter ends with a great, mysterious hook, and you likely won't be able to help but play further. Were I to rank it out of ten, I would probably score it with a nine. A single lackluster puzzle is enough to sink a point, but a walkthrough can circumvent this, should it frustrate you.

The second chapter begins to ramp up the difficulty of puzzles quietly while maintaining the attention to detail that you will already come to expect from the game by the end of the first chapter. The story ramps up delightfully alongside the puzzle difficulty, and in the interests of avoiding spoilers, I won't go into the revelations here. But rest assured, the plot revelations you learn here provide the impetus for your actions through the rest of the game, and provide a sense of gravitas and even urgency regarding your mission. I'd give this episode another nine, a point deducted only for brevity. Despite some puzzles being more difficult, they are quicker to solve when you have figured out the solution. All in all, though, a fantastic episode that leaves you wanting more.

The Dream Machine walks on a tightrope, it is true. A tightrope that has been traversed many hundreds of times before. Some have crossed with flair, others have fallen down below. The tightrope is worn now; taut and difficult to traverse. The Dream Machine traverses it with more flair than ninety-nine percent of the competition before it. Whether or not there is a rope to traverse any longer, whether or not point & clicks ever find new ground to traverse, The Dream Machine is a shining example of video games at their most artistic, their most unique, and their best. If you are sick of the stale, unoriginal, copy/paste shlock that makes up a lot of mainstream video games' output, buy this game for yourself. You deserve it.

Has all the same discoverability problems that bad point and click games have. Infuriating guess which doors to go through in the right random sequence puzzle. Seriously kfuc this precise type of puzzle. I bought this because the dev's other projects are awesome and wanted to give him some money for them. Go play the gateway game, it's a wonderful treat.

A relatively straightforward, haunting adventure whose first two episodes are an extended setup for what I hope are bigger and better things. If I sound lukewarm on it, know that it’s puzzles are consistently reasonable, it has the best hand-crafted world since The Neverhood, and the characterization is surprisingly deft given the workmanlike prose. Also, it passes the adventure veteran smell test: it has clever, unique responses to every absurd ‘use item on X’ interaction I could throw at it.

The Dream Machine is a point and click adventure game where you play as a man named Victor, who discovers something sinister about the apartment he's just moved into. To save his family, he'll have to explore the dreams of his neighbors and defeat the sinister dream machine.

The story begins as a sort of mystery, with Victor having to find out what's going on with the apartment. After that, it becomes a progressively more surreal experience as you explore the various dreams of Victor's neighbors. Victor's character can come across a little differently depending on which dialogue options you choose. He can be polite or rude to different people and have accepting, disbelieving, or angry reactions to different situations. Some of the side characters have interesting personalities as well, although many are fairly flat. The handmade, claymation art style had a really interesting look and definitely helped enhance the creepy atmosphere in some scenes. I thought the story started strong, but wasn't as good as it progressed, and I finished the game feeling unsatisfied. There are also a few places where it seemed like some of the elements of the story changed mid-game. For example, I thought early on that the game would explore the implications of Victor seeing into people's private dreams. It's brought up in the first couple of dreams, but after the first couple of dreams it isn't ever really brought up again. I'm not sure if this was a change made in the course of the lengthy production process, or maybe I'm just reading a theme into it that wasn't really meant to be there in the first place.

The puzzles in the game range in difficulty. Some of them, especially early on in the game, are pretty intuitive, but later in the game they get harder and/or more time consuming. There were some parts in the later game that I would never have figured out without a walkthrough. However, there were a number of puzzles that had more than one possible solution, which I thought was a nice feature. The other issue with the puzzles is that parts of the game are randomized, so different playthroughs will have different solutions. Unfortunately, this made certain puzzles more difficult to get hints for. There was an in-game hint system you could turn on, but I never used it, so I can't comment on it.

I had a number of technical issues with this game. The biggest annoyance was that it was set to be always on top, so it was impossible to tab out. I also had a number of issues with random crashes, but fortunately the autosave usually prevented me from losing much progress.

I would definitely recommend taking a good look at the reviews and maybe a couple of quick peeks at some of the DLC pages for the other chapters before deciding if you want to buy it. The store page and the first two chapters don't necessarily give a clear idea of what the game is going to end up being. The game has more psychological horror and existential themes than I was expecting, and I probably wouldn't have picked it up if that had been more clear.

Overall, The Dream Machine is a game that I can't recommend. The technical issues were annoying to deal with, and I didn't like the way the story turned out. That being said, I don't necessarily think it's bad, it just isn't for me. Someone more into psychological horror and the surreal would probably like it more than I did. 5/10

*note: review is after playing all 6 chapters*
A beautiful game with an engaging story, but not without its faults. The claymation and set design is very nice; worth playing the game alone just to experience that. It seems like gameplay takes second priority to storytelling though. I found many of the puzzles impossible to figure out without brute force trial-and-error or consulting detailed walkthroughs. I wish there were more in-game hints if you start to get stuck but there are very few. I understand that a good portion of the game exists in a dream world but some of the combinations of objects necessary to solve puzzles still didn't seems to follow any sort of established logic. There is also a fair amount of backtracking in the later chapters, which can get pretty tedious. I enjoyed the range in environments and gameplay mechanics as you move through the different chapters, and would recommend playing the whole thing to get a full sense of the game and the story.

This might be my favourite game! In fact I'm thinking about making all of my friends play this game. The music and the art were amazing. It's clear that this game was made with love. The puzzles were just the right amount of challenging, I did refer to walkthroughs twice, but as you keep spending time in Victor's world you start seeing the possible connections you can make more easily.
I keep seeing that some negative comments have mentioned that they didn't like the ending, and how they couldn't control Victor's choices, but I think it's important to remember that this game is an experience in and of itself; it's not a choices-matter type of game, so you do follow a story. Personally, I liked the ending. The Dream Machine has an existential vibe to it, and I still keep visiting the game in my own dreams.

One of the best point and click adventure games ever devised. Underlying the game's seemingly simple exterior are deep and thought-provoking psychological questions (especially with regards to psychoanalysis) within which dreams, voyeurism and their respective meanings serve to fascinate and to entice the player; it encourages one to delve deeper into the subject matter. You really need to play this game!!

The Dream Machine is a timeless oustanding masterpiece. Developed from 2010-2017 and released episodically, I'm writing this review in 2020 and can't put in words how much I am impressed by the the artwork and the love to detail of this title. Intelligent and smart dialogues make it easy to understand the characters and identify with them. Story and puzzle design very well deserve to be described as extraordinary, from intuitive to logical. highly recommended.

Full game review. May contain spoliers.

I rarely write reviews but I felt a huge uge to do so in this case. I was very disappointed: the first chapter was promising, beutiful but the rest of the game went a different direction - a wrong one, to my taste.

Sounds were great. I love the audio part and it was amazing till the end.
Artstyle sadly decreased in the last chapters. It's beutiful and I know how much work plasticine and cartboard requires as I was doing such a game during a game jam so I kinda know how complex the process is. However, the looks of dream centre, the before-birth area... it was really not polished and was lacking the beauty of the forest area or the environment storytelling of the house.
Gameplay at first was a classic point'n click, it was pleasing but then it got repetitive and sadly all the backtracking made it hardly bearable for me. Heavy reusage of the areas in the second half of the game was also affecting my experience a lot.
Plot was promising. Man, the general idea was marvellous. Unfortunately, it all went in the wrong direction, maybe the writer was switched or something? From around the half of the game the plot has more and more holes, to a great hole in the end. The machine was feeding on a last dream, a dream of main character's child, but then we learn that when we entered our child's dream, we let the machine in. From the other dreams we learned that the machine has to interact kinda directly with a dreaming person to feed on them, so how was it able to survive on a person it couldn't access? Maybe I'm missing something but that's just one of the plot holes.
And the ending. I told myself that I'll rate it positively if the ending was good but it was simply unfair and unsatisfying. We had no choice, there was a vague dialogue and then we have Vitor sleeping forever on a dream island with the machine in his head. There was no cutscene of, for example, Vicor meeting everyone during a teaparty in the dreams (it would be so cool).T here was a moment when the machine started showing some complex human emotions: it told it was friends with Morton, it was sad that Morton is dead, it was not understanding that he told Victor to kill it. I was almost sure that in the end Victor will talk to the machine and it would understand that it's hurting people and leave/shut down on it's own. Or that Victor would persuade it to, for example, take form of a different being...for example a cat or a dog. Animals dream as well. Or something, even the cliche happy ending of him destroying the machine and everyone thanking him would be better honestly, especially that the rest of the game was a dissapointment.

So to sum up, I do not recommend playing it, go play other better point'n clicks and if you must check this game out, play the first chapters and then stop. Unless you like backtracking, you do not mind plot holes and you like bad endings, of course, then I think this game is for you. It's still a job well done and a nice experience after all.
Have a great day and hope it helped someone with the decision!

Not recommended. Sub-par point and click adventure game - on a writing as well as technological level. Play Monkey Island or Paradigm instead. Heck, even Dropsy is a huge step up and that game has no dialogue. Skip this one.

Amazing story that is creepy and thoughtful. There's a lot of extra dialogue to read through which is always worth it. The puzzles are logical (you won't be able to do something that the main character doesn't have a reason for doing before the story progressed that way) and the environment gives you hints.
Definitely recommend you go on this journey, so get iiit!

Excellent, this game is both visually appealing and a joy to play. The storyline is original and captivating! The first 3 chapters are a pleasure to play.
However after chapter 3 it all gets extremely hard and almost tedious in parts. Chapter 3, 4 & 5 are virtually impossible without a walkthrough which is a shame because the first few chapters were enjoyable with the right amount of puzzle. However anything after chapter 3 is a write off and far too complicated to get your head around. that said, all still worth a play!

I bought this game on sale and am glad I did. It's conceptually like an escape room, and I enjoyed looking around for clues and trying to figure out how to solve puzzles. I finished the game within a few days, mostly due to using a walk-through. I couldn't stand the anticipation and was excited to see how the plot unfolded. It's delightfully chilling.

I found myself absolutely drawn into this game from the moment I picked it up!
A while ago, I bought chapters 1 and 2 because they were on sale thinking it looked like a cute little point and click puzzle game and that it was cool that it was done in clay. It turned out to be much more!
I recommend this game for anyone who loves well-written and realistic characters, character driven narrative, surreal environments and story, beautiful art and sound design, and solving intriguing item puzzles.
I honestly haven't been able to stop thinking about this game since I finished it a few days ago. The story was so personal and genuine, it really resonated with me!

Although, I do want to warn people who may be sensitive to this stuff: CONTENT WARNING for blood, gore, voyeurism, death/themes of death, unreality, and pregnancy/themes of birth.

This is a review for the full game, not just chapter 1 & 2

The Dream Machine is a Swedish-developed point and click game centered around... you guessed it; dreams!

It starts out quite interesting and it makes me want to keep going, I say every chapter actually holds up as the story continues and there was never a moment I felt that it stagnated or got boring (even though there's some backtracking here and there). Every area was unique and while the last chapter did reuse some of those, it was still something of its own. This is comparing to other episodic games that sometimes do reuse earlier areas for various reasons.

The game is at various points quite dark and I'd go so far to say disturbing, however overall it's not a horror game.

The ending I've heard was a let down for many, but personally for me I found it interesting and I guess satisfying. It was an interesting journey and I'm thrilled to play the future games of the developers!

Fantastic art and original story hampered only by buggy and amateurish Flash interface. To its credit, the game is long and the ending is not rushed, although some of that time was artificially extended by trial and error and backtracking. I was able to complete all chapters without hints except one, where it would have been so easy to have the protagonist verbalize what he was trying to do just a little bit better for a couple of environmental puzzles. Overall a very worthwhile experience. I just wish that my 35 years of adventure gaming had not subjected me to so many awful game engines.

Good. A P&C game with many puzzles and a weird story. Visually, is amazing. Great music. This is a product that serves to make the argument that video games can be a form of art just like the movies.

No bugs or crashes. Runs fine on Win 7.

As said, the story is weird but is a good tale. A very effective narrative that keeps you interested and amused. The game is adult-oriented, don't get fooled by the cute animations. Some puzzles can be very obscure and, as with many games like this, overlooking a little object can lead to some frustration time. Overall, the game is not casual-easy. It can be challenging and it has many head-scratchers. Nevertheless, it's a great ride. It includes cards and the if you get the 6 chapters (and why wouldn't you?), it will entertain you for about 20 hours. This is an indie gem and I gladly recommend it.

This is a review for the whole game.

I've always been a fan of stop-motion animation and the reason that I bought The Dream Machine was because of its gritty and dark visuals that resemble the work of Aurel Klimt (strongly recommend you to check out his stuff).

It does look amazing, but it turns out that I was wrong to guess that the artwork is this game's strong suit. It looks crazy good nonetheless, even better than what I expected. But the clever, honest and insightful writing in this lengthy (10 to 14 hours) ride is what got me baffled. It plays more like an old-school text-heavy (there is no vocal acting) adventure game. The story is intriguing to the end with a masterfully balanced rhythm of puzzles. While the sound-work is OK, music is mostly experimental and a bit weird at times (I loved it). The old-school design might get a little confusing for the occasional adventure player or those who think that adventure games are more like interactive animated movies (like those of Telltale Games), fret not 'cause there are walkthroughs on the web for you.

The Dream Machine is a diamond in the rough for the ever-searching.

Absolutely brilliant!

I started this game long back, some 10-15 years ago. I played the first 1-2 chapters and then kept it aside as life took over. But for better or worse, this game made me a FAN of point-of-clicks. During these years, I kept playing some nonsense point-and-clicks. Years later (actually, it feels ages later) I stumbled upon this game on Steam and tears rolled up my cheeks. Got it instantly and started playing afresh. And what an experience.

YOU MUST PLAY THIS GAME or else you have missed one of the best narratives in point-and-clicks ever!

THE best point and click game out there. Story is beautiful and animation is awe-inspiring. It took me 33 hours to beat it. I own all 6 chapters. Definitely has a really interesting story. The puzzles make sense and usually are not too much of a stretch. I only got stuck a handful of times. Puzzles are rewarding. Its worth it even if not on a sale. This guy spend 8 years making this game and it shows.

This review is for the full game.

When I started this game I had high hopes. The art style was surreal and unique, the dialogue was well written, and the game mechanics made sense. I played through the entire game, and I have to say that after completing it, I feel as though I have wasted the ten hours I spent toiling away to finish each chapter.

I wish I could say that my opinion of the game remained high after completing it, but to say that would be a lie. After finishing the game, I feel cheated. Without spoiling it, the ending was ridiculously bad. I was not given any choices, not allowed to give input on what Victor was doing, and the dialogue was rushed. The ending was out of character, and unfair to the player. Throughout the game, we the player are given choices, on how we choose to react to different situations. To abruptly change that at the end of the game and have Victor just go along with a plan with the enemy after only seconds of thought was unfair and a poor writing choice. Now, I won't pretend like I know everything about making and producing a full game, as I never have before. But what I do have experience in is writing, and what I have to say about the ending is simple: it was poorly written, abrupt, a cop-out that didn't align with the rest of the story, and ultimately it made me feel as though I wasted money and time to finish a game with an ending that was just objectively bad.

During the first chapters of the game, I had felt inclined to leave a review about how this game was quickly becoming one of my favorite games in the genre. Now that I've finished the game, I can easily say that, due to the horribly planned ending, this is one of my least favorite games. Of course, I still love the art style, and for most of the game there is good planning and story writing, but the ending was one of the worst endings I've ever had to sit through (and yes I mean sit through, the player is given practically zero choices at the very end).

Overall, the game was good, but the ending ruined it for me. If there was a possibility of multiple endings I would immediately change my review, but as it stands this is a game with an ending that makes the gameplay seem like a waste of time.

Of course, I wish good fortune and luck to any future endeavors made by the developers, as the game was unique and the style was well done. I only hope that in the future they consider that maybe an ending should have more choices than simply giving up and abandoning the waking world.
