Grundsätzlich ist das spiel mega cool wenn man keine lust auf das hardcore grinding im fishing planet hat nur leider kommt kein content keine updates und es existieren bugs die in fishingplanet schon seid anfang gefixt wurden ich spiele es weil ich geld für bezahlt habe aber generell für ein payed version von der free to play ist es der größte rotz und 50 euro sind viel zu viel dafür das das game eigentlich nicht mehr supported wird !!!KAUFT ES NICHT!!!

Das Spiel ist grundsätzlich gut, macht irre Spaß, aber es wird weder weiterentwickelt noch gibt es irgendwelche DLC´s noch irgendwelche Infos der Entwickler. Events werden angekündigt und sind dann nicht spielbar, das ist eine absolute Frechheit und Arroganz gegenüber dem zahlenden Kunden. Wer lust auf ein Angelspiel hat sollte es sich nur im Angebot kaufen, nicht zum Vollpreis. Es bietet viele Stunden Spielspaß, aber die Behandlung des Kunden ist ne Frechheit.

Es ist ein gutes Spiel weil es nicht so Grind lastig ist wie das F2P.

Aber es fehlen einfach Updates und das finde ich leider extrem traurig .

Wenn man es im Angebot bekommt super aber gebt niemals den vollen Preis aus .

Ansich macht das spiel spass und ist für leute die nicht so viel zeit haben besser wie das hauptspiel allerdings ist das spiel vom entwickler offenbar auf dem abstellgleiß gelandet es kommen gefühlt nur alle 6 monate mal was neues und bugs werden garnicht gefixed also wenn euch das nicht stört könnt ihr es im angebot gut kaufen aber nicht zum vollpreis

Dieses Spiel wurde als Vollversion käuflich Angeboten. Es ist nichts anderes als die veralteten Fishing Planet Versionen. Das für Geld!!!
Ein Service findet hier überhaupt nicht statt. Ansprechpartner sind nicht vorhanden.
Das größte Übel hierbei sind die chinesischen Cheater. Schlimm das dies bekannt ist und nichts unternommen wird. Beiträge hierzu werden ignoriert oder gelöscht.
Schade eigentlich, ein Spiel so kaputt zu machen.

Traurig das Fishing Planet in der Free to Play Version deutlich mehr zu bieten hat. Es wird ständig neues reingepatcht nur bei The Fisherman passiert nichts. Spielt lieber die Free to Play Version.

Ich finde das Spiel ist um EINIGES schlechter als das kostenlose Fishing Planet, hier kommen keine Updates. Fische beißen schlechter als im ersten spiel, und erlig gesagt. Hätten sich die entwickler die arbeit sparen können.

Das Spiel erhält keinerlei Updates! Es wurde eine stabile Grundversion des Spiels zum Vollpreis veröffentlicht, welches die bisherigen DLC, teilweise enthält und das wars! Um an die DLC´s ran zu kommen muss man Ingame allerdings Baitcoins farmen über den fang von Einzigartigen Fischen oder Missionen. Das farmen ist machbar aber verarscht fühlt man sich trotzdem!

The Fisherman ist endlich das, was das Original mal war. Man levelt zügig und bekommtdas es hier kein Premium gibt. Einzigartige Fische geben Baitcoins und die Lizenzen Kosten nur die Normale Ingame-Währung und sind unbegerenzt. Man kann sich also alles im Spiel selbst erarbeiten ohne Baitcoins kaufen zu müssen.
So macht die beste Angelsimulation wieder richtig Spaß.

Bitte das Spiel nicht kaufen. Es wIrd von Betreiber nicht mehr unterstützt und Viele Fehler und Keine Event update. Ich versuche mein Geld Wieder zu bekommen. und Hoffe Steam ist da Freundlich wenn man Abgezockt wurde. Gruß Martin

i come from fishing planet ( the free version ) and honestly, really disapointed, we don't have the same maps, no update.. ok we can get baitcoin with fishing unique fish but honestly only 4 packs to buy with bc ? that's ridiculous. And for a 30 dollars game we're stuck with the Z Key for Zoom, can't bind another touch. Take care of your gameand don't get obsessed with the free version just because peoples buy packs who cost so much money for what it is. Be goods developers, not developers who are living only for money. A Solo guy made Fisher Online and actually he's doing a lot better than you, he do update and don't leave us...

Fun experience. Lots to do. Many challenges to complete. Tournaments available, although I have yet to compete in one. Fun trying different combination tackles to catch the big one. Endless amount of tackle and gear to collect. Enough locations to keep you busy for sometime. The developers might come back to this game and release DLC. The base is there and would be easy to add lakes and trophy's to collect. Overall fun experience and would highly recommend if looking for a real work fishing simulator.

Like fishing planet but without having to grind and catch the same fish for 3 hours just to travel to a lake and fail to catch your target fish and having to repeat it all again. It also includes all of the DLC's from fishing planet which you would normally have to pay around $700 for altogether. So not a bad price for the full version of the most comprehensive fishing simulator available.

Best fishing simulator on the market by far. It can be a bit of a waiting game sometimes and the gear can be overwhelming when loading the game for the first time, but once you get used to it , it truly feels like actual fishing. It's different from the free to play version for sure, but I'll take this one over the micro transactions on the free version anytime. Updates are less frequent in this version,but they do get it from time to time. Solid game overall.

If you like fishing and if you like (simulation) games. Then this is the game for you. As far as fishing games go this is the most realistic and fun one around. While the freemium version has more content and is more expansive it's business model is based on micro-transactions which is a huge negative as far as I am concerned.

Compared to the freemium versions it could definitely use a few updates HOWEVER.

Big positives are the fact that you receive a complete game with a relaxed store and levelling system. And a fishing game is supposed to be relaxing for me so this fits the bill.

One thing I would definitely change is in the fish fighting part of the game. The fish simply don't tire out. In real life most freshwater fish take at most a couple runs and then kind of give up. This means that if you don't have heavy enough tackle for some fish you could easily get spooled or be fighting it for an actual hour.

This review will probably get interessting.. First of ALL -> this is by far the best Fishing Sim avaliable even when fishing planet the original has more maps.

Why do i say that..:

what i like about fishing planet and the fishermen is the entire concept. the graphics are really nice and much more realistic than all other games in the competition. I like that the multiplayer works out of the box ...
Its sad that the fishermen dont has all the DLCs like fishing planet. But i really enjoy it.

Once a while ago i really enjoyed the original fishing planet. Since they have totally changed their Price policity it has become unusable so i looked for an alternative.. and i found one.

Actually its true. you really save 700 to 1000 dollars compared to fishing planet. Everything is reachable. There is no hurry of realtime investing because a realmoney fishing place license is running out after 3 days.. -> in the fishermen you dont have these limitations.

Iam playing the game via Steam Proton on Maximum Quality with Vulcan. It works pretty and fast.
Today i have invested into all DLC's since this game deserve to have more content and more interesst by the publisher. I hope they will add more content.

After nearly playing 1000 Hours in Fishing planet allready having high level i decided to start scratch here and iam really glad that i made it. -> no joke buy it.

sadly this game had a lot of promises that were never fulfilled - i have managed to meet one other player in my 24 hours, and have yet to see signs of an update or just content in general - i basicly just use this game to test things in Fishing planet without having to spend ingame money on the other game

The only benefit to The Fisherman over the free game is that you don't have to grind money to go anywhere interesting and you only have to pay once and the use in game currency to progress. However, the developers have not done anything to advance this game. They are only providing content to the free version, which to be any good at you have to spend a stupid amount of money to progress at any speed that is faster than a tortoise. Quite frankly, they provide the best fishing game I've ever played but have ruined it with microtransactions.

Good game, not pay to win like Fishing planet can feel at times, no need to buy limited time premium or baitcoin (you get them for free fishing uniques). It does have a major flaw though, it doesn't get updated. FP got new lakes and we still haven't got all the ones they had before that! Nothing new since blue crab island.

I have 154 hours played in the game. The graphics are good, The fishing gear options are good. However, my 3 biggest complaints of this game are...

1) The gear is way to expensive in the game, especially boats. Also, you can only really use the boats on a few lakes.

2) I don't mind paying (in game cash) to go on a fishing trip. But, that too is expensive. And then you have to grind and catch a lot of fish just to make that money up. So, the farther you travel the longer you have to grind to make your money back.

3) The predictable nature of the fishing mechanics. Fish are always in the same spot and you can always go back and catch them again in the same spots. There are some different size fish, and some are found in different spots, but the MAJORITY are always there to be caught again and again. There is no real randomness of fish movement.

Bye-and Bye, the grinding is the biggest reason I do not play this game anymore. I just want to be able to fish comfortably without fish being always in the same spots.

I suggest these improvements...

1) Make fish move around more randomly
2) Lower all the fees for traveling to spots.
3) Lower the prices for the boats

I don't mind leveling up, but please knock down the grind by half. So, some of us can enjoy fishing instead of it being a grind.

Do I recommend this game. If you dislike grind... NO.

This game is beautiful and relaxing. Lots of fun and challenging. I mean honestly there isn't anything about this game that I don't enjoy. There is plenty of upgrades to this as compared to Fishing Planet that makes this game even more enjoyable in comparison.

not worth $40, if you buy it, buy it on sale. its a cash grab and a half. i was under the impression theyd keep this updated along with the p2w version and that dosnt seem to be the case. so if you enjoy the base game buy it, if you want updates you mine as well take the money and put it twords the free version

DO NOT BUY.

I honestly feel ripped off and scammed.
I cant swallow the fact I bought this game at full price and get 0 long term game support and updates on actual gameplay, while the free to play version has improved in all possible ways and the Fisherman receiving NONE of that love at all.

The one thing this game did gave me was a big F you by adding PAID dlc that doesnt even come close to all the love and attention FP received in the mean time.

If i had the money I would walk the legal trajectory against this practise.

Don't get me wrong, this is not a bad game at all, BUT:
- Fishing Planet (the free to play version) has more content and updates.
- Because of above mentioned reason, this games multiplayer is close to dead as well.

Plus point:
- Option to reset progress
- Less grindy

Will never buy a game from this developer again. I do NOT support practices like this, and frankly no one should.

I put 500 hours into the free online version, but find this is much more to my taste. No daily licenses (and all licenses bought for credits) so those of us with limited hours to play don't feel pressure to grind is a big one. Little limitations removed like no waiting after forwarding time add up to a more pleasant experience, and getting baitcoins from uniques again is terrific. It's the very chill experience the online version used to be. Fewer players perhaps but they are all very nice.

Lets get the main problem out of the way forst... Yes this version of Fishing Planet is behind the F2P but a few maps. Will we ever get those maps here... IDK. But what is here is great content, content that i dont have to either spend forever to unlock and access or open my wallet to have easy access to.

This is how the base game should have been but the developers knew they could make a lot more money making it pay to progress (I don't see fishing as a competitive sport). I hate having to pay for baitcoins or get them at a snails pace as in the F2P version, This game gives you very easy and consistent access to baitcoins to enjoy the game to the fullest.
There is much less of a grind attached to this title and can be played a lot more casually (as once you buy the licence for a pond its forever) so you can hop on and try different things at different waterways and not fear going bankrupt and farming lonestar lake for pennies.

All in I will say this game is a lot better than its F2P counterpart, even after putting in around 1500 hours into it.

I have more than 1000 hours in, i found the game to struggle at the start, but after u get to lvl 10+ the game does get better, but like most people u get playing for a while, jumping maps is just silly, u need to fill the nets and make cash.. Dont always do the missions if it is not what u want or like, i have found the game also doesnt get enough updates, so the 150 lvl 50 people i know that no longer play, is because they refuse to update the game on regular intervals... And no i do not call a event a update... So BIGBEN a discontent customer never normally wants to return, perhaps u might want to think about that as u leave the premium holder left for dead for the free to play version, what a great game maker..... The game play is ok, the graphics are fairly nice, but taking into account, many bugs, and issues, if i had of known what i know now i would have never have bought this game....

Everything about the game itself is better than the original-except NO UPDATES. seriously, what gives? We have received ONE update in over a year, where the base game has had numerous content updates. Honestly drove me back to the original version.

Stick to the free game. We paid for this one and then have to pay extra for the lakes that are already in the free version. like wtf! A perfect example of this would be, a phone company releasing two versions of their phone. One, free for everyone with a lot of apps. And, one that you buy that comes with a better camera (that you hardly use anyway). Then, to buy the phone only to find out it has half the apps the free one has, and you would have to pay extra for the apps the free one has already. So, yeah. It's better to just play the free version; because you're paying for only half of the game. And apps meaning the lakes and better camera the 2 rod holders on the boats to troll with.

Cannot recommend this game at all because comparing with free version - ITS A TRASH.
1. Update - discounted (announced for late spring) - didnt happen - devs silent about it
2. Support - no support
3. If you like spinning (lure) fishing - better stick with free game. Spinning reel tends to stop randomly. Sometimes reacts precisely, sometimes makes extra spin by itself, which i find utterly annoying....

0/10 comparing to 'FREE' version.

Huge disappointment! It's just a knock off of Fishing planet. There hasn't been any new content or updates. I'd stay away from this game. This seems to be nothing more than a cash grab.

They have not updated this game in months, the free to play game 'fishing planet' had wat more content like, more lures, better leaders, another 10 levels, and more locations to fish. I cannot recommend this game if the devs don't support their paid version of a game.

Lack of support from the Devs.....No updates and a base line game like when Fishing Planet was still in development witch is sad but true.Yes you get coins for unique fish and the few perks like lower prices for licence is nice, but the lack off new content for a game that you have to buy and so many promises were made.I cant even remember when this game last got a little attention like updates and so on from the devs.I would not waste my money on this.VERY disappointed

It states it includes everything from Fishing Planet. It does not. It also does not receive updates. Fishing Planet LLC does not support this game only the F2P Fishing Planet. BigBen or now Nacon is the support but there is not any.

This really is just a cash grab. It's just like FP but without updates or events, just coins for Uni's.

No events work, only a few of the DLC is hidden behind a gold coin wall not everything. Plus you get to grind & grind to get enough to unlock just one of the DLC packs.

It would be better IMO to spend the money on coins or dlc in Fishing Planet than to buy this game. This only gives you back gold coins for Uni's.

No. Not for me. Its laggy. the retrieves are wrong. The monetary system is wrong. Gold coin to fix equipment. Its impossible to get enough at the beginning to save your equipment. Tournament system is like FP classic. Not worth doing until your at the much higher levels. Its more of a grind in this game. Never thought I would say that. The happy 4th of July event running at present is broken. There is no real developer backup for this game. It has been left high and dry compared to fishing planet classic. Cash Grab. Probably. I wouldnt buy it if I was you. Wish I hadnt.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. There are no updates. None of the bugs are being addressed. The F2P version is getting new lakes, fish, and gear. This GAME IS GETTING ZERO updates. Avoid this game, publisher, and developer like the plague. I will NEVER spend another dollar on any content from these companies. I would take a refund in a heartbeat if I could.

1. no support at all
2. no updates
3. fishing mechanics are buggy and old compared to f2p
4. lower density of fish compared to f2p
5. cannot fish and place rod pod anywhere like in f2p
6. out of all the maps only 4 or 5 are worth fishing...the rest offer little to 0

All these negatives outmatch the pro's of the game...sadly...
This game has the potential to be a jewel but with the devs completely ignoring this game it will die and swallow our money...too bad...

There was a lot of promises, like (Было много обещаний, таких как)
- Lags / bugs / and most important, micro freezes (лаги / баги / и самое важное микро фризы)
- New content (Новый контент)
- Feedback more frequently than DLC selling. You got what I mean, right? (Обратная связь чаще, чем выходы новых дополнений. Вы понимаете о чем я, да?)

I like this game. Really. But we are forced to demand with negative reviews what we expected to have with that game.

Fishing Planet was one of the better fishing games out there. It's competition was Ultimate Fishing Simulator which I still think is tops with its fly fishing and ice fishing modes. And I bought several DLC packages for it. Now when its new version came out with the stipulation that all the DLC was now included in the package for an increased cost and some updated graphics I jumped on it. But with the promises comes deception. But first the positive.

The entire fishing process is great. From the first person perspective, the rod reel placement, the fishing action is top notch. The movement of the fish in the water after a strike is very good.

Secondly, the graphics, with the alive environment, trees and bushes swaying in the wind, the beautiful water and stillness or waves when the environment changes is well executed. I still think the clouds need a lot of work.

Third, the sounds really do create an immersive environment though the loons are halted in their calls. For some reason the loons are not finished. They just stop the call as if they've been silenced. lol.

Now, when you buy a license it's good for unlimited fishing. However, you still need to pay the travel costs.

The bad. Look it. Once you guys commit to bringing over the DLC and sell it as part of the package with no real update path other than paying the full price from the previous FP then you bloody well should be a developer good for your word. Instead, why do I see DLC now for this package? I'll tell you why? Baitcoins. In integrating FP with the DLC the developer brought over the ridiculous baitcoins which were a means of maximizing and exploiting the money they could get from this product. So in the Fisherman I could have tens of thousands of dollars but because I don't have numerous baitcoins I can't afford that stupid canoe or a simple kind of lure. And I can change baitcoins for cash but not cash to purchase baitcoins. So there you are with thousands in cash but a long way from getting some wares for your fishing and you still can't afford a simple canoe. I go to the DLC and for 6.00 I can have a motorized dingy and updated fishing gear!! And yet I have thousands of dollars earned through slugging it out fishing over and over (grinding). The baitcoins are the means to cash in quickly by paying for the DLC because you will never have enough of them to get even the most simplest of lures, or whatever. Listen I can grind with the best of them and when you've earned thousands by catching and selling your fish it is quite apparent the baitcoins are the vestige which should have had no part in the second addition and which only serves to frustrate, manipulate and exploit you and this game. Be forewarned. I don't appreciate deception and manipulation in a game particularly at an increased cost from the original FP where you had already bought numerous DLC packages. I am a guinea pig so as to warn you off from this kind of process. In the environment, graphics, fishing, as good as it is comes the baitcoin deception. I can't reward this process with anything but a thumbs down.

After playing this game for over 100 hours..the only thing I can say good about it is that it's better then the free to play version only because it doesn't cost $100 to buy an unlimited licence to fish Mississippi. Now..that being said, do NOT buy this game. There hasn't been any updates on it since Dec. The developer AND the publisher have both gone silent on the future of the game. There hasn't been any bug fix patches, no updates for new content that the f2p version is getting. If you already own the game, do NOT spend money on it. I would honestly love to see Steam get involved here and remove the game from the store along with all the DLC and keep them off the store until the devs and publisher agree to resume development of the game. There are hundreds of people on the game's discussion forum asking/begging for something from the devs and publisher yet we're ignored. I do not recommend this game nor do I recommend ANY of the DLC. I wish I could praise it..but I can't.

DO NOT buy this game, game is dead, so many problem, and dev like already dead, never update never reply, waste money to buy this game, i have 290 hours play time, almost 200 hours is waiting connection, always disconnect from server, waste my time and waste my money...

146 hours. One event (Halloween) and not a peep from the developers since. If I had known this was nothing more than a cash grab, I’d have never spent money.
Do not purchase this game...unless the devs wake up and make it worth the cost.

It is OK if you just want to spend an hour a week. If you want more content your stuffed. If you want updates your stuffed. If you want events your stuffed. It is a good game. If I didn't already play the free fishing planet I might have made a different review but along side that, the fisherman is just a shadow. The free one isn't perfect but it really is so much better.

The bite system was reduced, it takes time to catch the fish at a certain time. Surface lures suck, unlike surface lures on Fishing Planet. It has no constant updates, does not add new dlc, new rivers and fish. The fisherman is always the same, as a friend says: looking at the water.
Regrettably, the more I'm going to quit and play FP.

this game does not have any of the new updates as to the FREE TO PLAY vers. Please do not waste your money on this game i got this because it read that ill have updates to newer contains then the F2P vers. Plus the UI in this game is soo out dated that the F2P has better UI and feathers.

It's a great game. It's an older version of the F2P game Fishing Planet, with no microtransactions. There is, however, ABSOLUTELY no support from the devs. Supposedly the devs want to update this game to the same level as the F2P version, but the publisher is not allowing that to happen. It's got a lot of content and is fun to play, but with no support at all, even to fix some bugs, this game is dead. It lived a great month, but that was all. Most players have gone to other games or back to the F2P version.
