The Marvellous Machine is not a roller coaster ride, it's a fifteen minute narrated journey in VR that lets you explore the inner workings of your mind and experience new perspectives.

Get yourself into a playful mood, and just go and have fun exploring! Lay aside any preconceived ideas of what you can experience and what you're capable of. In the realm of the mind you are only limited by what you think is possible. But please be true to yourself - if you are not truly willing to let go of yourself for a while and follow the narrator's directions closely, this experience will not be for you.

The Marvellous Machine ist eine kurze, meditative und vor allem grafisch wunderschön umgesetzte Reise rund um unsere Gedankenwelt. Das einzig negative an dieser Erfahrung ist, das leider viel zu zu abrupte Ende.

It's nice to do something other than and stabbing enemies and shooting things in vr sometimes :)

This was sitting in my steam library for around half a year and I wish I had tried it sooner.

It looks great and still ran flawlessly on my machine with no framerate drops or hitches. It may be short, but it absolutely does not need to be longer to leave you with an interesting food for thought.

The graphics are fine. The narration and pause near the middle is creepy and weird. The ending was bad, it just made my cart fly off to my death. I don't believe anything the old lady said, I have taken a small course on psychology and I cannot relate to any of what the narrator said. Sounds like some cult new age theory than psychology.

An interesting combination of slow amusement park ride with meditation. I’m not sure if I got the full message the software is trying to convey, but it was a good experience. Visuals are excellent, very polished and detailed, with a Victorian London type of style. It is short, and a fair amount of time is spent with the cart stationary while the narrator talks to you, so if they were charging money for it, I might not be so pleased, but for free? There’s absolutely no reason to not try it!

For a free VR experience, this was really well done and I recommend trying it even if you aren't that interested in the premise as the experience only lasts around 15 minutes in total.

15 minute long, narrated cinematic VR experience running on the Unreal Engine with no VR interactions. The visuals are good and it looks like a decent slow rollercoaster at first, even though the narrator is talking nonsense or is revealing the universe's secrets (I'll let you decide for yourself which one it is). However, then the ride stops and it does get rather mundane, unless you're into the gobbledygook or secrets of the universe type meditation (I'll let you decide which). Then the ride really takes off at the very end and you're like oh wow, this is going to get good ... but instead it just ends.

I still recommend it. Good experience for free overall. 7/10.

Currently I am not in a great situation in my life, I will admit, so I was looking for something to help release some tension. This lockdown has been getting to me, and I'm going through some other things I won't get to, however they have left me feeling rather low.

I found this VR experience on a web blog, and thought of giving it a go for some 'mindfulness'.

The narrator has a very calm, understanding voice that in no way has any tone of a condescending nature. The words spoken are very sweet, and for the first time in a long time, I felt like crying but not in a bad way. This is a lovely experience, and I wholeheartedly agree with every word.

The world itself is beautiful, however if I were to suggest an improvement it would be to add tessellation to the surfaces for additional realism. Very well made experience, I highly recommend it to anyone. Maybe my anxiety will be calm tonight.

i was guess it's fun roller game but i was wrong :D This game it's so deep like i was siting to a psychologist. I have never played such a game like this.

I had always believed that the immersion of VR can be used for more than gaming, that it can deliver beautiful and meaningful experiences that mono screen based mediums cannot. I started up the Impossible Machine feeling a little agitated, one too many coffees and fast games games, having just finished the my first time in the Marvellous Machine I feel calm and centered. An excellent use of the medium to allow positive changes in mental states. Most of the games I choose to play amps me up with a nervous energy, which I do like a lot, but it pleasant to turn that down. Highly recommended if you want a different kind of virtual experience.

It’s a very pretty introduction to mindfulness. It’s quite short though, and I feel no need to repeat the experience after watching it once. Would perhaps recommend it if it was free, but for me it wasn’t worth paying for.

This was one of the most amazing experiences i have had in vr so far.. Let me be clear.. Nothing really happens in this. It's not scary, or action packed.. You sit in a cart and listen to a woman's voice talk to you soothingly. It's almost like a meditation. The music is absolutely beautiful, the game runs smoothly, and it was just a great experience.. This shows you there is more to vr then wave shooters, and horror games.. The only complaint i have, and this is a minor spoiler if you can call it that, was the ending.. I was almost there, the music, the words' coming out of her mouth, it was really emotional. And just as the cart started moving fast, and i thought i was gonna be treated to a mind blowing finale, it just, ends.. Really wish they followed through on the ending.. But over all what a great experience.. Just take it in.. Nothing is gonna jump at you or startle you..

right now I would only recommend this if it was free. interesting concept and experience, reminded me of a guided meditation. But I think it is too short, just as I calmed my thoughts and became immersed in the experience, it was over.
This would be great if it was a longer maybe in the 45-60 minute mark. The current 15 minutes do a great job of preparing you for an experience that doesn't happen
For the devs: It would be interesting to see this a guided meditation in this style, but the experiences(and narrators subjects) would have to vary(maybe 8-10 meditations/experiences about an hour each). I think then this could be something you come back to, sit down switch off and relax your mind and thoughts for an hour while observing some interesting visuals

15 minute experience (can sit down for all of it)

You ride a cart really slowly through an underground tunnel full of steam punk graphics while the narrator talks about your thoughts, your reality, your past and future.

Its like psychology 101

Not for everyone but if you want to expand your thinking a bit give it a try

This was a beautiful experience. The graphics, lighting, scenery are amazing. It’s a slow moving roller coaster without any motion sickness side effects. It’s a short meditative experience that I may try from time to time if I’m in the mood after slaying zombies in other games. Good experience to show people who may not be into high tech or are scared of VR.

Thought provoking, profound and beautiful. Not only a wonderful ride through sumptuous visuals, but if you approach what is said with an open mind and listen then it's a stunning experience.

My Quick Thoughts:
Had this experience been priced higher I probably would not have recommended it, however it has superb visuals and an interesting psychological style narrative to it.
I was really enjoying this experience until about half way into it, when nothing seem to be happening and I was starting to get a little bored. The pace before and after is great, it's just the lull in the middle I didn't like.
The ending was brilliant and I would have like to see more of this.
