Immer wieder habe ich versucht meinen Spaß an The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom zu finden. Leider ist dieses Spiel nicht wirklich gut gealtert. Irgendwas fühlt es sich einfach falsch an. Vielleicht ist es einfach nur die träge Steuerung die mich stört.

Ein nettes Spiel für zwischendurch oder lange Abende/Nächte, dass auch mal zum herumblödeln verleitet. Obendrein gibt es Kuchen. Jeder mag Kuchen. Schalter und Klone und diverse Gefährlichkeiten laden immer neu zum Nachdenken ein.

If you like platform puzzle games like Braid, you'll LOVE this one. Cool environment, story and music. For the price tag, you're practically stealing this game.

A lovely, clever little puzzle game that reeks of personality and charm with very solid gameplay. The soundtrack is just magnificent and I truly thing this game is an underappreciated little gem.

Simple concept. For me an interesting mechanic.
The story and music really pulled me in.
Short but enjoyable.
Plus there are extra challenges besides the main story

The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is a very interesting game. The mix of puzzle and platform is very well applied, the game itself is simple (which in this case is not a bad thing) and the balance between these two elements is good and very noticeable. Aesthetically it is very cool, the use of black and white (with few colors), it's aesthetics of old films and good music provide a very pleasant atmosphere for a ludic and fun story like that of Mr. Winterbottom. The mechanics are simple, works well, they are 50 stages + bonus stages, you can have a lot of fun and fry your brain trying to solve the puzzles. Aesthetically the main character is not a masterpiece, but that does not interfere with the game at all.

Fun little puzzle game with time puzzles - reminds me of braid. Wasn't in the mood to stretch my brain in the way but I'll likely come back or let my kids go crazy.

The art and mood of the game is quite good.

I played this for a little while and stopped 4 years ago (lack of proper computer). I'm back in and still love it. I am no expert so I get a kick out of remembering the short keys for each action. I was hoping to start where I left off. System did not save that old game. I'm not disappointed, I got a refresher on the quick keys. I do this as one player (don't think it is for more than that). I love listening to the sound effects and music. It reminds me of the 20's-30's piano music in movies from that era. FYI: I am no spring chicken but, that era was a few years before my mom & dad's time.
I feel this helps with hand/eye coordination and hopefully keeps the brain stimulated. I'd like to get through life without dementia or Alzheimer's.

The game has a wonderful atmosphere aided by astonishing visuals, excellent soundtrack and a very incredible overall art style. The puzzle mechanics are unique and although they rely on one specific mechanic, the additional elements keep up the challenge and introduce new ways of thinking into every new level visited.

So why the negative review?
Because this particular *puzzle* game relies heavily on twitch reflexes. A puzzle game should be something you play to use your brain, not your shooter skills and hand-eye coordination. And this plagues the vast majority of the game, including each and every bonus level. Sadly, after a time (and lots and lots of resets on one level because you just missed the strict time limit) all the fun and challenge turns into nothing but pure frustration and anger, which is a clear indicator when a game fails to be a game.

The main levels are worth a few bucks for the design and the utterly charming narrative that tells a funny, yet somewhat bittersweet story, but for hardcore puzzle gamers and achievement hunters I advise against buying this title.

If you like your games to be challenging with lots of content then this one is a good one for you. I've owned it for a couple of years now and I keep coming back to it every couple of months to try beating my own score on the unlockable timed levels. Every time I come back to the game I am reminded of why I love it even though at times it can touch the nerve that induces my nerd rage. It's casual to an extent, with dynamic and beautiful art work, and while the first couple of levels ease you into the gameplay nicely, you will quickly learn why I call this game challenging. Any game I can open up and have fun with two years later is well worth the few bucks. Happy Pie Hunting.

Bought it for $0.59 couple of years ago.. Only had the chance to play it now.
Why da hell don't I hear about these kind of games..!?? Is there only Braid in the world? Or are they just too hard?
This game is spetacular. Hard, funny, NEAT ambience and soundtrack. Obscure plot/moral.

Cake, confection and clones!
This is the crazy adventure of P.B. Winterbottom.
In this film noir style game with excellent art design, special atmosphere and funny narrative story you try to collect so much cakes how you can.
WARNING: In this game you must use your brain ;D
Some levels bring you into madness, others let you feel like a genius.
There are varied gameplay variations, so the game will not boring!
And if you want more rack your head, no problem!
Extra levels and ranking list are available ;)

PS. The cake isn't a lie! Cakes without an end!!
