Der Salzeisenkrieg ist ein Teil der langen, von Kampf geprägten Geschichte – ein Krieg, in dessen Zentrum die Kontrolle über Salz- und Eisenressourcen stand. Ein Gleichgewicht der Macht wurde erreicht zwischen dem Heiligen Reich Heissand, welches das Salz kontrolliert, dem Herzogtum Aesfrost, ein in Eisen gehülltes Land des Eises und Schnees, und dem bewaldeten Königreich Glenbrock, das zwischen den beiden anderen Mächten liegt.

Abstimmung
Wichtige Entscheidungen, die das Schicksal des Protagonisten und der Verbündeten bestimmen, werden durch eine Abstimmung mit der Waage des Urteils getroffen.Um deine Meinung durchzusetzen, musst du deine Verbündeten überzeugen. Entscheidungen, die großen Einfluss auf das Schicksal der Gruppe haben, haben auch großen Einfluss auf die Geschichte.

Strategische Kämpfe
Du musst die Höhenunterschiede im Terrain nutzen, um dir einen Vorteil zu verschaffen.Nimm an herausfordernden Kämpfen teil, die viel Strategie erfordern. Deine Gruppe besteht aus Charakteren mit einzigartigen Fähigkeiten und das Gameplay-System ermöglicht das Flankieren der Gegner für Folgeangriffe und den Einsatz der Fertigkeiten deiner Verbündeten für die Koordination von Angriffen.

Unterhalte dich im Feldlager mit deinen Verbündeten und verstärke diese.
Im Feldlager kannst du Gespräche mit verbündeten Charakteren führen und einkaufen. Hier kannst du auch Einheiten verstärken und Waffen beim Krämer oder in der Schmiede kaufen.Zudem kannst du die Stärke deiner Charaktere, nachdem du sie verbessert hast, in der Taverne in Übungskämpfen auf die Probe stellen.
Diese Kämpfe reichen von Standardschlachten bis zu Auseinandersetzungen mit einzigartigen Siegbedingungen, welche es dir ermöglichen, die ganze Bandbreite des Kampfs in TRIANGLE STRATEGY zu genießen.

Just beat the game today after playing it on and off for the past few months. Here are my thoughts:Gameplay wise, this is one of the most satisfying games I've played in a while in regards to the battle system. Instead of the typical Mana system that most other RPGs opt for, Triangle Strategy uses a TP point system for techniques, and TP recovers naturally each turn. This makes for a super-engaging battle system where you'll have to balance using TP points for status inflicting techniques, defensive techniques, high-damaging skills, etc. You'll have to think about every turn that you'll take in every battle; even one turn can turn the tides to the enemy's favor. The characters are all very well balanced as well, you have your fast, nimble characters that can act twice, your tanks that can direct enemy damage to themselves, your magic nukers that can utilize 2-4 TP points at once for big damage, and more. Every character has a use, and each stage has it's own advantages and disadvantages for certain characters. No two battles feel the same, and that's by design. Sometimes, the amount of enemies can get a bit overwhelming, even on the normal difficulty. But I'd rather have a game that's a bit too hard than too easy. All in all, it's a joy to play. The story is also very well written, and being someone who enjoys reading about geopolitics in our modern world, this political take on a fantasy based story was such a breath of fresh air. Each and every character, from the main cast to the bad guys have their own set of convictions and interests, and those convictions often times clash during the story's big moments. Your actions and words hold weight in this game, as your party will be forced to make story-altering decisions at various checkpoints throughout the game, kind of like a direct-democracy approach to moving forward with your plans. If you play through the game as a goody-two shoes, then it will be difficult to convince your party to take the more brutal and unforgiving routes down the road, and vice-versa, due to your prior choices and convictions. That's rare to see in games these days, and I'm glad that Triangle Strategy was able to execute it in such good fashion.What more can I say? The artwork and graphical design is beautiful and crisp. The music is outstanding, especially during those big moments. The voice acting.... could be better, but that's just a small blemish on an otherwise incredible experience. This game has multiple endings, and I'm definitely going to go back and play through a few more times to see them all.A fantastic entry in the HD-2D genre, and my personal Game of the Year from 2022. Bravo, Square Enix. You've knocked it out of the park this time.

This is a beautiful game that you don't get to play. There is literally hours of dialogue and scene changes and more dialogue going on somewhere else and then back to the original dialogue then more dialogue and a scene change and now there's more dialogue. Then a battle, which is fun and enjoyable. Then more dialogue and more exposition and more dialogue. I am not exaggerating, the amount of dialogue and exposition is just endless. They even give you a button to fast forward conversations and sometimes skip entire scenes, 2 hours in and I was using them both and had given up on following the long winded story but even fast forwarding and skipping every single scene of dialogue it takes 10-20 minutes to get to the next battle. I can't understate it, this game is very J in the Jrpg, the Japanese know how to drag dialogue out for an eternity and this is one of the more impressive examples.I want to play this game, but it's all just clicking through dialogue. Even though the art and battle system is great, you rarely ever actual get into a battle.

Slow meaningful progression. Choices feel like they matter. Have been playing on Hard difficulty and loving the epic pace and tactical battles.

Great story telling, old school style, a lot of cutscenes at the beginning for character development and not a lot of fighting, it picks up later on. Good to buy on sale.

GAME COMPLETION REVIEW:

I loved this game but this is only going to appeal to people who like story intensive games with heavy decisions, turn based strategy fans and theory craft fans. If you don't like any of these things pass up this game. If you're bad at strategy games this might be too hard for you.

If you like the things above I highly recommend this game. I found the first 4-6 hours of the game really slow but after that it took off and I was invested till the very end. I found the combat and graphics to really be the best part of this game. The story is interesting and invests you with your choices. The story was admittedly a bit stretched out though where 30 minutes of dialog could of easily been 5 minutes.

9/10 - I loved this game but it's not for everyone.

Picked up for the gameplay, stayed for the story.

A great tactical RPG game with an emphasis on story and characters. Honestly I cant remember the last time i really gave a damn about most characters outside of the main group but this game does it so well and made each character's personality extremely unique and interesting.

Of note, most if not all of the negative reviews are people whinging about this not being FFT. I'd say that's a silly reason to not recommend the game since it would be akin to saying my fried chicken doesnt taste like a broccoli. It has literally no bearing; Why are you rating a game based on how it is not what you thought it would be?

If you bought into the game thinking it was going to be full FFT in a world where this could have been easily avoided by doing a little googling, then honestly that's on you.

Married a Fire Wizard, sold her people into enslavement by a kingdom of genocidal fanatics. Dunno why she left me, but I won the war, and got a lot of Salt. 9/10
