War Selection — ist eine pseudohistorische Strategie mit dem Aufbau einer Basis, der Sammlung von Ressourcen und militärischen Zusammenstößen.

Bis zu 62 Spieler kämpfen in einem Spiel auf einer zufälligen Karte.

Jeder Spieler beginnt in der Steinzeit.
Während des Spiels wählt er seine Kultur und dann ein bestimmtes Land.
So wird die ganze historische Vielfalt der menschlichen Zivilisation dargestellt.
Jeder gewählte Weg bringt ein einzigartiges Spielerlebnis.

Spielmechanik und Fähigkeiten werden je nach Auswahl ergänzt.
Nach 8 historischen Epochen erreicht der Spieler die Moderne.

Das Spiel hat mehr als 100 Gebäude und mehr als 200 Arten von Einheiten.
Es gibt 2 Arten von Truppen: land- ? Marine-Truppen.

Das Spiel macht an sich sehr viel Spaß und hat ein gutes System und viele Möglichkeiten. Es gibt eine gute und große Auswahl an Truppen und viele verschiedene Gebäude, die alle ihren Zweck erfüllen.

Der einzige Minuspunkt wäre, dass es teilweise schwer ist seine Truppen präzise zu koordinieren. Jedoch ist es nicht so schlimm, als das es sich auf das Gameplay auswirken würde.

War Selection ist das beste gratis Spiel, welches ich jemals gespielt habe! Sogar DLC´s müssen nicht gekauft werden, sondern können durch Spielen verdient werden, sehr fair!

Dieses Spiel macht sehr viel Spaß mit anderen Leuten. Ich habe viele Matches gespielt privat und gewann so gut wie immer obwohl meine Freunde gegen mich geteamt haben.

Ansich ein Gutes spiel Allerdings wenn ihr jede runde Gewinnen wollt pusht mit reitern nehmt dem gegner seine bauern und er kommt nicht mehr hoch dann kommt ein made mit speerkämpfern und nimmt ihm direkt raus. ich bin ein fan von solchen spielen aber das hat wenig mit stratiegie zu tun es ist stumpfes gepushe und das hat wenig mit stratiegie zu tun da spiel ich lieber Age of empires

Sehr gut geeignet wenn man einfach mal nur ein Aufbauspiel spielen will was noch fehlt ist ein möglicher Modus gegen KI, in welchen sich die KI auch aufbaut, dass es nicht nur auf online sondern auch auf Einzelspieler oder spielen mit freunden mehr Möglichkeiten gibt. Alles in allem ein super spiel und dazu auch noch gratis.

Das Spiel ist echt nen guter Empire Earth clon, jedoch brauch es noch jede menge Balance & vorallem Scout Einheiten, da die eigenen Truppen sofort von jeglicher Arty aufgewischt werden. schlicht weil man nix sieht & es dauert ewig Tower im Feindgebiet aufzustellen & diese zu Scout Türmen umzurüsten.

Ich Liebe Empire Earth und War Selection hat was in mir aufleben lassen, was ich lange nicht mehr gefühlt habe!
Ich musste die Entwickler sofort mit einer kleinen spende unterstützen. Man kann es kostenlos runterladen und im vollen Umfang spielen. eine Kampagne soll noch kommen.

Macht sehr viel Spaß! Richtig cooles System und es wird dauerhaft weiter dran gearbeitet. Kann ich jedem empfehlen der auf ein solches Genre steht.

This is game is so fun. The good thing is that the game is free, i never had a better time with friends i hope the small developer team get bigger and have more support plus more frequent updates please i love this game. I would also love for them to have a patreon if they do not have so we can support the devs!!

i think this game is cool and fun but the problem is the balance of this game is so bad.

you know what, when i played a new round, i spawn in a island , only stone,wood and food, not any iron on my around , but i found the nearest iron ore in the enemy's house !!! What is this !!! This is unacceptable. The map design is so bad, i hope it can have a change.

but this is game still cool and nice so Nice Job guy.

And please launch the single player fight AI mode ASAP, i don't have friends play RTS and i don't want to play multiplayer mode.

In all honesty its GOOD for a free game right?
But there is no fun in public lobbies with friends yes its very fun games can last hours its a great time killer.
but in public lobbies or god forbid competitive lobbies it no longer becomes a normal RTS instead its a Russian roulette of either A: the enemy team is a bunch of 7 year old Russians who don't know how to count to 3. Or B: 31 year old Ching ling from china knows every exploit and meta and will make your entire hour long game PAIN.
And it is NEVER that Ching ling is just better than you NO if you pay attention to updates and regularly play you KNOW EXACTLY what hes going to do because every update they balance something while just breaking something else.
And there is NOTHING you can do about it because as soon as that update comes out Ching ling KNOWS exactly how to rush the broken unit in under 30 minutes and then murders everyone without even saying a single thing.

Languages needs to be fixed. Some of them are very badly translated including my mother language (Slovak).

I'm not a fan of this game. For one, it's got hitching problems even on lower settings, and for two, any potential singleplayer content beyond a basic tutorial is essentially paywalled, or you are forced to play multiplayer to grind out an in-game currency to access features.

Gameplay-wise, it's like Age of Empires and Warcraft 3 had a bastard child, and not in a good way. Controls are pretty average, but the units are tanky. As in a small peasant-rush being actually viable tanky. Audio design is.. iffy. It's a little generic in most cases, and there's no varied unit audio that I've noticed. It may be free, but any potentially entertaining parts of this game are inaccessible to anyone looking for a singleplayer experience.

The game is mostly manageable as free to play until you realize how much advantage paid nations have throughout stages, which is still ok for the cheap price you may get one.

The problem lies within developers pushing unstable updates which cause crashes and memory leaks which they do not wish to admit or address properly so if you are on a lower end of spectrum like weak PC or Laptop don't be surprised if after a patch game stops working. Overall not recommended.

Free-to-play RTS, based on the classic ideas of Rise of Nations and Age of Empires. It's fun, for some time, but there are the reasons why I don't have the passion to play it further or to recommend it broad and wide.

Starting from the good side, it is the free-to-play PvP RTS which suddenly looks and plays not like some cheap mobile game. There's no paywall of any kind, no pay-to-win. You can buy some things via an in-game store with your real $, but you can live just well without such transactions.

Next, the main game mechanics are mostly similar to many old RTS games of '90s-early '00s. It's not a bad thing, because the entry level is relatively low, and everyone can play it, basically. Some people are moaning that there are no innovations here, nothing new in comparison with those very old beloved RTS like Age of Empires, which is still better...

As for me, I don't really think that following the proven lead is something bad. However, there was always one thing in those old competitive RTS games that I hate. Generally, for way too often, it's not about some balanced way of the nation development, but a timed run to build some troops faster than your opponents, and then rush'em and crush'em. That's the main case of War Selection as well, but, there's something more to hate!

The main game is always about such clashes between players, and the way it works there, it's always a handicapped race for some players. Some players will start with a good piece of a map, where they will flourish and prosper... Others will be losers. The bottom of the food chain. There's no balance in spawn points and no balance between players. No paddling pool for beginners, no proper tutorial... And alas, no special reason to convince yourself to overcome it all.

So. War Selection is a nice game. It is free to play, and it is still getting frequent updates, despite being in Early Access for about 2 years now. Definitely not some shovelware, abandonware, or something like that. But... There are many other RTS games on the market that are somehow more complex and addictive. I just don't see why to play this particular game or recommend it to some coop play session with my buddies. It's a monotonous skirmish without any notable progression and/or reward.

the game devs are a bit money-hungry, but I can't blame them seeing as the game is free. one of the best RTS games I've ever played, and I quite like the game mechanics. my only concerns are about A.I. pathing, and about how it takes so long to get the factions with in-game currency.

Negative only cuz i cant try the game,says have singlepleyer mod but in game no option to play vs AI and try the game..i tryed multiplayer,i wait 5 min and no game found...Focusing only to MP is a big mistake,lack of players...

I can highly recommend this game to anyone who likes playing classic RTS games like AoE, Empire Earth, etc.
Currently I have the feeling that the game is already extremly stable even if it is in an early access version. It already feels like a well-thought-out and stable game. It uses common principles of the classical RTS genre as well as adding some of its own flavor to make the game special.
The developers are adding useful features regularly, like adding countries, bug fixes, balancing etc.

Pro
+ remembers me of empire earth 1, update between ages, get new tech and get more powerful
+ Already many countries, which not only differ on their textures but also in their playstyle and units/strenghts.
+ More countries and regions added regularly
+ Good multiplayer community, short waiting times at any daytime. Team and 1vs1 matches
+ Random maps every time, which gives the game its own mix. What I am missing here are things like maps created that have only islands

Negative
- Pricing model for buying countries or additional game modes is very expensive in my point of view. Nevertheless if you play regularly it is no problem to get the countries you want in a moderate time with the ingame points which you get after every game
- balancing - there are still a lot of improvements possible for the balancing. The biggest issue currently in my point of view is the unlimited possibility of building towers. The game is mostly played until late game where often the team who builds the wonder first wins.
- limited possibility of game modes (no multipe team matches, no tutorial)
- the game feels a bit slow, especially in late game, as the units need a lot of time to build, are moving very slow and for example tanks are very clunky.

But the game is free and the dev team is working on the improvements, so you can definitly give it a try!

Good game. Plays like old school age of empires but with modern graphics/updates etc. I enjoy this game very much. Some people complain it's pay to win but I have been able to unlock all the countries except for japan that they just added by simply playing the game and using in game points. I have spent 0 dollars on this game and have had more fun than many triple a games I've spend 60+ on. They are constantly adding new countries and updates are very regular. The few major bugs I've experienced have been fix ASAP every time. Good game, good devs, good fun. Just buy it.

This game feels so much like Age of Empires and Empire Earth. It has a huge potential for single player. If devs implement a proper skirmish mod vs AI, then it will be a solid alternative to Age of Empires 4. Focusing on multiplayer only would be a mistake.

Basic free to play, free for all and 1v1 maps are free to play for all. But in order to play other nations you either have to buy them for £6.20 per nation which is extremely overpriced, or earn 10000 experience which no doubt takes ages. Not only that but in order to play survival against the AI, you also have to pay. Very limited content for a game with potential, the only thing i wanna do is play survival but i aint paying £6.20 for it. On top of all this, the campaign will also cost money. around £32 for the whole pack, which I'd rather spend on something thats WORTH £32

I think it plays the same song endlessly.

They are adding this to the game or we need to pay money for it.

The Bottom Line -

War Selection is fun for a free game.I was playing and I had archers and swordsman and I felt like a badass only to get attacked by another human player who had armored cars and machine guns.All my archers and swordsman died and they did not kill one of his units.It was actually really funny.The other guy felt sorry for me because he did not attack me after that for 10 mins even though he would of easily killed everyone of my units.I did tell him in chat I was new before that.

So if you are a new player wait until you have machine guns at the soonest before you attack.hahaha

The game would be better for new players playing against an easy bot vs other humans that know exactly what to do.

It still is fun for a free game and those who love it you will know in advance should like the paid version as long as it is not too expensive.

I love this game but simultaneously hate it.

Positives:

Possibly the first RTS I've genuinely enjoyed learning how to play and master
Playing private matches with friends is really quite fun
Lots of unit diversity, shame most of them aren't viable
easy to pick up, hard to put down :)

Negatives:

The game is literally unplayable when a select few troops are completely overpowered (COUGH COUGH LEGIONARIES) whilst the rest are pretty much just lemmings waiting to die.

Every nation you pay for has vastly superior equipment and capabilities than the free industrial revolution making it painful to counter them and honestly getting light knight rushed for the 400th match in a row because it can out manouver literally everything at that age makes me wanna uninstall because everyone competent knows thats one of the best strats. Furthermore worker repair on buildings is overpowered as hell and you can just camp your townhall with workers and its unkillable awesome game nice design absolute aids watching the health bar spike more than Gamestop shares. Everyone on your team will DC at the start of the match meaning you will lose because itll be a 1 or 2v6. Furthermore the devs shamelessly plug china as a p2w broken as fuck op nation which literally everyone has bought because mounted cavalry go BRRRRRRRRR. 90% of the playerbasee has the IQ of asparagus but they have money to buy op nations so it doesnt matter they'll win regardless.

GG devs your game gave me brain aids but I cant stop coming back to play. Kill me :(

Has a limiting pop cap, meaning it's less about expanding as fast as possible and more about strategy. Getting troops to counter theirs, having a balanced army, cheesing them, and whilst doing all of that, it's less strenuous since the pop cap is there and you have limited troops to control. This makes it a lot less overwhelming than other strategy games I've played like empire earth and supreme commander.

Also you upgrade through different ages, so there's a cool feeling of advancement.

If you choose to play this game i hope you like only having a quarter of the game to play. There is too many micro transactions to make any sense to even try to get into the game. There is literally not even a mode to fight against AI or at least not one that's free and if that wasn't enough the player base is shrinking.

I have about 100 hours of gameplay, and I feel I can say that this game has quite a few problems:
1) Like all free-to-play games it is clearly pay to win, because the units are not balanced at all
2) matchmaking does not exist
3) the resource collection system is senseless
4) the randomly generated map needs some improvements
5) the graphics are far behind compared to other games of the genre 10 years ago
6) 15 vs 15 matches only exist in the trailer because the community of players is getting smaller and smaller due to the problems listed above.

But now I want to get more specific:
1) Reached a certain era, each player has the possibility to choose to evolve their civilization following the path of a real world nation (which he previously bought in the workshop), the idea is not bad but if you don't pay you can never buy yourself a nation as they cost 10000 pts and on average when you win a 2 hour game you get 140pt and the daily login bonus of 50 pts is just ridiculous. Having said that, it must be pointed out that the units that each pay nation makes available are infinitely higher than those available for a normal player, for example: russia can count on rocket launcher trucks that have a range that covers meta game map for 10 players and T-34 tanks that have twice the life of a normal tank, about the same damage and double build speed; The Chinese, on the other hand, have at their disposal cavalry units armed with rifles and equipped with a life and mobility greater than the tankers that can bring any civilization to its knees (because as we will see, mobility is the key to fighting); the Turks have at their disposal defensive turrets with mortals and lower range only to that of the Russian rocket launchers and snipers that hide in the ground making them practically immortal; last example: the British have the only buildable fortifications on the sea that in a map with a lot of water are simply unfair, then they have the anti-tank infantry that perhaps we should call anti-everything since it has absurd range, absurd damage, and bonus damage against all the vehicles.
Having said that, there is only one last flaw in the balance: the air units that can be shot down even by a simple soldier eg: my industrial II era heavy bomber can be safely shot down by medieval soldiers with a musket ... one might wonder but how is it possible? a plane flies at 10000m high a rifle bullet will perhaps reach 1000m, nobody knows the explanation, and by the way: this makes the anti-aircraft units in the game useless, which cost a lot, are fixed and do less damage than a couple of riflemen.
the last flaw that makes the gameplay very unbalanced is the fact that the remote units never have anything to do with the target, so the units equipped with high speed of movement like a knight can safely load dozens of archers, riflemen, machine gunners, cannons, mortals, and many other units without ever being hit by anything and exterminating the enemy army. The lack of aim also applies to defensive towers making them useless in every respect against most enemies.
In theory in a good rts the movement speed should be balanced by low life while in war selection the speed units usually have tons of life.
And if you think that a knight can be eliminated by 20 pikemen you are wrong because it is so fast that they will never collide in a close match unless the enemy player forgets to move it.
So it's easy to see why everyone's favorite tactic is rushing the enemy when he's still in the first / second era. So as to prevent him from getting to have unbeatable units
2) match making as mentioned before exists only in ranked matches and therefore it follows that in normal aprtites you can find yourself in a team with only new players against veterans.
Or even worse can happen to find yourself against players with paid nations without someone with counter nations on your team and this results in an inexorable and inevitable defeat.
3) resources are collected without a sense, wood = stone, the copper needed to go up to the 3rd era then turns into iron in the medieval era and into steel in the industrial era without you having to build buildings or do research, in practice build copper tanks !!!!! finally, the food can be endlessly extracted from a farm where infinite workers and tractors can work, so what is the use of fishing and having animals to hunt in the game?
4) the randomly generated map in my opinion is the strong point of this game because it makes each game different from the previous ones, but it can happen to be born in a point of the map that is a natural fortress inaccessible to your enemies (since the units do not they can cross trees) or you can happen to be born next to your enemies and usually when it happens your allies will let you die because rightly you will be too far away to be helped and by the time their armies arrive the enemy will have already outclassed them of era or in number of soldiers and vehicles.
Another annoying thing is that if the enemies destroy your altar you have lost the game so it is logical to try to place it in a position at least initially defensible but the vision on the map at the beginning does not exist and you have to use your scout and hope that it does not die. killed by some wild animal, then from the second era your altar becomes the place where you can ascend the era, build workers, make map vision upgrades that allow you to see an area around the village always and in any case ignoring mountains and forests and other natural obstacles
5) the graphics are very old for such a game, personally it doesn't bother me because I'm a fan of games like aoe2, but for many players it can be annoying to have a new game on a recent pc with old graphics
6) I think this point does not need further explanation

conclusion:
it is a game with a lot of potential but many more flaws, and I hope the developers don't decide to ban me from the game for this review because I'm curious to see how this game will evolve and if I become that rts that could be

After many hours playing this game, you realize that the only meta available, is rushing one unit, then spamming it. Some just spam down houses to increase their pop cap imediatley, and some just rush technology (viable strategy) and then pump out as many of one unit as possible, again this is viable but all you ever see in this game is spamming units and rushing with little to no strategy half the time. I wouldn't recommend due to there being not many restrictions on what a player can do based on their options of how they go tech wise, and I say this because i there aren't any restrictions at all on what a player can do, then they can't properly think to win the game and instead go straight to rushing and then spamming something, there is never a balanced way of going into things. I hope this was helpful and if it wasn't, then I am sorry, this is just my piece in this game.

I have to say, it is good. But i will be fair, and say what is good and what needs to improve. So let's begin with that, improvements. First thing, is the fact that quicks ( Or attacking immediatly by either spamming the begginer troops or literally building DEFENSIVE TOWERS in the enemy base ) Is too common and should be removed. Something like a truce in the begining, and the enemies not being able to build in your terratorry would be nice. The second is the toxic community, it can't really be improved but i find way to many people beeing toxic and un-inviting. And that is it for improvement. Now the good points are many, but things like the freedom to build and the recourse management makes this game so fun! You have lots of room to improve, and the fact that you compete online makes that a constant. The continuing updates and engagement from the developers is a huge bonus too, and i love it! Over all the game is really good, and i suggest it if you like to spend alot of time to improve, and like managing and building kingdoms and empires in a fast paced game over short time moving through the ages.

This game has incredible potential with some tweaks it can really give AoE a run for it's money. It plays like a mix between Empire Earth and AoE. Once you've gone through the learning curve, it becomes a game of reasource managment to age as quickly as possible without your town center being destroyed. Pro tip; TOWERS + WALLS. Your opponents could be building armies of horsemen and swordsmen, but when you have riflemen and submachine guns they are no match. Late game gets tricky b/c artilitery can snipe your capital unless you have a defense force to push out and destroy their units. A single sitting in this game can last 1-2hrs.

This will be my review for now since this game is in Early Access. Considering that they will improve the game soon.
For now the game is just P2W. Why ?
because you buy germany. you get big bertha. and an OP tank.
You buy russia. You get katyushas (rocket trucks) which is easy to make and op af. Make just 20 of them and there. instant win.
The other stuff you can buy is just useless nations who doesn't give you any advantage. which is just a waste of money since the others do.
You don't buy a nation ? you get regular stuff.
What about the players who doesn't want to pay the game ? who doesn't have any money to pay for games ?
will they get perished by ones who can spend hundreds ?
i know your game is free and developers needs to get paid. But this is not how it works.
You can't make a game free but make it pay to win.
Period.

It would be nice if walls(at least stone walls) could not be destroyed by melee troops or arrows, only with siege equipment.

Nice game overall, mix of civilization and age of empires, combat animations could be better..... but the sound for melee hit detection sounds like bouncing marble balls, tick tick tick

It was a cold dark winter night and there were 5 opposing armies on a large rectangular battlefield where war was brewing, 1 king - a king amongst kings let’s call him King Longdong Denchwood just for the sake of an easy to remember name. He was new to battle he had not battled on this rectangle before, so he set to work arranging his army and gathering supplies preparing for war.

The other lesser kings had previously been hardened by war so they had a distinct advantage over Longdong, war had no begun and there are not many clean wars in this dark dark world. Most kings looked to get a feel for the battlefield but not one king not King Long Tom Silver, HE DREW FIRST BLOOD.

King Calvertron7000 had been brutally attacked and murdered while his guard was down by no other than King Long Tom Silver, immediately the not so mighty Denchwood declared war on Long Silver. Upon hearing this news King You are a Ukulele, quickly came round to supporting the cause, nothing was heard from King Dumbledan (Previously known as Dannys2810g764582hfkn9d63bgbanana17).

The current super power, crusher of worlds, destroyer of dreams King Long Tom Silver was on the hunt for his next prey though and he quickly and brutally attacked the less war hardened Denchwood, who happened to be in and around his territory... It was quickly made apparent to everyone that long silver must be stopped as tales of his mighty unstoppable army were spread.

These tales of course, were lies… needless to say Long Silver didn’t last long on this battlefield, the now farly advanced armies of Dumbledan had joined the fray. Without a word Denchwood and Ukulele knew who the new target was. Dench wood was out of his depth in this war though, he had thrown so much into the was with Long Silver.

It was an epic battle between the 2 war hardened superpowers with technology that Denchwood didn’t believe existed never mind know, it was quickly discovered that crossbows don’t work against planes. It was time to trust in technology as Denchwood put all efforts into advancing through the ages. It wasn’t long till he had riflemen and shortly after that discovered that riflemen can shoot down planes, A wonder was built… the new target was found – Dumbledan.

Everything was thrown at Dumbledan by Denchwood but he started to suspect that he may have just dug his own grave having never realised that war has an end and only 1 victor, there was a plan to backstab Ukulele while he went in for the killing blow on Dumbledan… Alas though he was too late and doomed as he saw the tanks roll over the hill…

10/10 would play again.

Fantastic game well worth £10+ but for now at least it's free to play. I had been waiting for a long time for Empire Earth 1 and 2 to be available on steam but since this game is heavily inspired by that series and even surpasses the original I no longer have to wait. The game is playable at this stage and upto now I have yet to experience any bugs or lag issues and I hope they continue to update the game and add new features and eras.

Eh, it's not the game for me, the UI is rather user hostile (Too many things on screen and not enough information/time to take it all in), and at first it seems like it's multiplayer only (It's not, but singleplayer is tucked away which took me a good 5 minutes to find since the only option was to play with up to 30 human players, which, I'm not a multiplayer kind of guy (Tend to find with RTS games I am hopelessly slower compared to everyone else)

Also, as soon as I booted up the game for the first time I got given 'tokens' reminiscent of a mobile/facebook RTS game, which yes, you can buy more of with real money... That parts on me though, I should've known better that anything is free, usually has catch of in-game microtransactions, I get it, devs got to earn money somehow, just a shame since this game looked promising. I wouldn't mind paying money for the game instead to see the tokens part gone, but I imagine the devs are probably too far deep in at this point to change their minds on it.

For the small time I spent in singleplayer, it was a bit of a drag, don't get me wrong, the idea of starting in the stone age and leveling up through the ages is great, that's a concept straight outta age of war (which I wouldn't be shocked if this was inspired by it) just more fleshed out, but it was just...Quiet, there was no battle music for when my workers started getting attacked by angry boars, and... Your units seem to prefer to take the damage than fight back... And I gave up quickly after reaching the Asia bronze age, it was just too complex that it overwhelmed me and that's probably on me for not noticing the tutorial and giving it a shot.

Give it a go, you might like it, but for now, I'm keeping my eye on it, might try it again in the future, but for now, it's a pass

The only issue i have is that to find a game it takes far too long is cause the algorithm or we need more players i dont know.
Overall i recommend it is free not pay to win as some say you can buy the same things you can buy with money with the game's courency!!

After 650hours of playng, i can say that this game this best of RTS PVP games i ever played, YES its early acces, yes have logic bugs and op units after each update, but after all, i very recomendet to try it , first play SOLO sanbox, learn how everything works and dont cry if you dont get tutorial, since when you need tutorial in RTS ? take unit, point to do job , thats it

I'll be honest, I suck at RTS but I really love this since this reminds me of being a little kid and having no clue what I was doing on Age of Empires.

Though, right now I have a better clue to what I'm doing, there's some youtube tutorials and tips, I find them useful, but if you're the type of person who prefers to discover them yourself, go ahead.

Controls are pretty simple and pretty standard.

The gamemodes are awesome, but if you're like me, you'll get stomped in every single one of them. There are some paid modes, but free for all, teams and 1v1's are free (online survival is paid and some other single player modes).

About factions, as of right now, you have 2 factions for free, you have some paid ones, which you can either pay with real money or grind in-game currency and buy it. (I still only have 3 hours but I've read some forum posts and people say it's fairly easy to grind to them).
The paid factions have some stronger units but they are possible to counter and win against with the default factions.

I'm looking forward to getting better at this game since I've always wanted to really understand RTS games.

Keep in mind though, if you haven't played any RTS, the game is kinda slow paced and the matches are pretty big.

I really do recomend this game, as of right now I only have 3 hours played, but I've been researching stuff from the game, forums, youtube videos and stuff like this. I've been grinding my knowledge of the game since it got me addicted just from the little 1v1 I did agains't my cousin.

It's free, what have you got to loose?

Pros:
- its fun
- its a cross between AOE2 and Rise of Nations
- each age is fun
- different strategies are viable
- you can micro or macro armies
Cons:
- playing as a free player, the unique nations are a little pay2win
- AI pathing is a little gorked
- a couple of the ages currently are useless to play in, its better to just rush through them
- some research upgrades are super clear on what units they affect or if they persist through ages
- would like to see a building similar to the Mine that is unlocked in the industrial age but for depleted stone sites
- I would like to be able to go into multiplayer team death matches with more than 3 friends
- some units are incredibly weak to certain other units: ex. anti-tank rocket men are very weak to tanks as they tend to miss and one tank shell can kill or damage multiple units at a time. Another example, artillery are incredibly strong in countering infintry even at close ranges or in manouvers
Conclusion:
- very fun for being free
- run decently for the number of players/units that can be in a game
- fun to play with friends
- not hard to understand the basics; once you figure them out
- would recommend in current state; excited to see where the devs go

Highly would recomend the graphics are amazing and if you have a low grade computure, The graphic adjustments make the run smoothly and amaazzingg for a free game its AWSOME how ever people that buy the advancments like united kingdom germany thoughs things are OP and cant be fought against as much. Maybe would be cool to get another country but with less game points to purchase but it doesnt really bother me because i highly enjoy the game. Plus the graphics in low grade give it that classic type of style i love it really feels like you advancing and is a true strategy game against the other players to the last winner and theres rush to it as well to advance in technolgy and just amazing. The games mechichs are good, only thing i ask for is the game to tell me what certian buttons do such as things like u can do ctrl and like f2 to assign groups but i had no idea and such as. And ask to know maybe with like an arrow that points where the building spawns units. but the game is so amazing.

I honestly don't understand Why do people play this game? There is nothing good about it.

an enjoyable with friends
almost full servers
not p2w
I am not saying this game is good in any way. I am saying that it's 100% worth playing with friends. Just give it a shot and see what you think! Have fun <3 11/10

in my opinion a copy of AGE OF EMPIRES 3. but this game is super broken and needs a super nerf. people spam cannons that 1 shot everything. and the broken amount of having walls that dont even fully close cause they have 1 gap at the edge of the world making your wall useless cause you can just walk trough the gap. and go in the base. also when you start your vision is very limited. in age of empires 3 you start with a traveller that sees the entire area. they should add a AUTO scout option that scouts the area. also there is no ability to delete soldiers. having medieval knights when your in the revolutionary age vs tanks does not really help.

Started of quite interested in this game... Misleading purchase for the $10 country pack, thinking i would be able to play survival mode, but NO, you have to pay ~$60 for an early access game that is not that spectacular... Can not recommend this game.

its still free i think anyway the game is very clanky right now certain units are over poweredd ever faction feels the same and skirmish is still a work in progress so no ai and survival now cost money even though it was broke to begin with

The game was pretty solid for an early-access. However the community is being moderated by people who don't know what community is. Every game comes with its trolls and toxic players. Recently they added a punishment system to the game, through their discord, but it only punishes those who try to stand up for themselves against these offenders.

The game will slowly die at this pace and I've had quite enough of the game myself. If you enjoy teammates attack ground on your base, or talk trash without a way to mute them. Try this game, you'll enjoy it.

I won the last tournament, and the moderators, even with proof, do nothing against the offenders in this game, both vocal, typing or in-game teamkilling.

Currently a group of us are trying to fix this together with a developer, if this doesn't get fixed, we're all out.
I suggest new players to pass this game and find something else meanwhile.

i dont wanna get a game that says is free and then have to pay for parts of the game if u have to pay for some features like single player survival it should just be a paid game than a game that says its free when u cant play reg single player

Hello, first of all, thank you for your intentions to add Turkey to the game. I really loved the idea.
However, first of all, we don't have camels. It's such an ignorance thought a person can have in the 21st century.
Turkish people's origin is MIDDLE ASIA. Our representative animals are horses. We were nomad tribes in green but barren lands.
After migration to Anatolia, we had very multicultural countries that can not be limited to Oriental architecture and culture.
As a Turkish, I have never seen a camel and desert in my life and I would really appreciate it if you changed the pack's name either ''Arabic nation'' or change the whole texture.

I loved this game since it represents cultures and it is fun to play a historical and detailed game through ages. I hope you see my criticism and take action about it.

The game is fun, recapturing old school RTS vibes but with a few interesting ideas.

But one of my biggest pet peeves is convoluted bs monetization, and this has it in spades. Glyph, I don't want to buy pieces of your game. I don't want to have to unlock things like it's a MOBA. Let me pay you once and give me the full product as it unfolds through early access, instead of pretending to be free then nickel and diming me over basic features like co-op. This sort of thing reeks of Age of Empires Online, and endless content packs to come, and I can't support that.

Hi, I play this game with my friend Tom and he always picks the best games to play. I am glad to have a friend like Tom because other wise I would have never found War Selection. Which is actually a very good game to play with your mates but enough about War Selection, did I mention I have an awesome friend named Tom?

TLDR:
Game with big potential, that is being ruined by its developers. They ignore feedback, dont communicate with playerbase and honestly every game system they introduced was very bad.

Discord being run by 17y old arrogant child is also not helping.

Bad design and execution everywhere. I understand they are not so expirienced but if they would just listen to the feedback...game would be much..much better.

I would rate this game 2/10.

I have spent more then 1200 hours combined in this game. Iam currently rank 1 in 1v1 ranked mode and winner of last official 1v1 tournament. Iam saying that not to feed my ego, but to explain my background in the game and why I see so many problems in the game.

This game is developed my very small studio. Development is very....very slow and lack testing. Game lacks basic featured such as game lobby, reconnect possibility when disconected, map editor (maps are randomly generated and system is extremly sh*tty). It feels like developers have no real plan what to do with the game, just randomly adding more stuff. Community asked for development plan what to expect in coming months, but devs didnt share any info.

This is the biggest problem of this game. Developers dont communicate with their playerbase at all. Its very sad. They dont even have their representatives on discord, discord is being run by fans instead. They dont announce new contant, they dont collect feedback, they dont read steam forums (only technical problems are being solved on steam forums).

They have no idea how to communicate, share info or announce news. Feedback given to them is being ignored. It feels like they dont make this game for players but for themselfs.

Balance in War Selection is complete sh*tshow, there is one viable strategy for ranked 1v1 for 6 months now and developers do nothing to change that. This game has so many eras, techs and units, but devs limited whole game to warrior rush (warrior is first basic unit in the game) so instead of going from stone age to modern age and enjoy whole game, whole 1v1 ranked is just about stone age and how to kill your enemy in 6 minutes.

But thats not all, maybe 75% of units in the game have no real use. There is always one unit per era which is very good and everything else is garbage...as a rank 1 I offered my help with balacing the game, but again...all feedback ignored.

Starting conditions in ranked game are pathetic. Its sooo imbalanced..if you got a bad spawn, there is no way to win.

And yea..ranked system (elo) is a joke. Worst system I have ever seen for my 22 years of gaming.

Game has huge potential..but devs make the game extremly slow and boring. Sometimes u are wating 3 minutes to produce one unit. Team games can last up to 4 hours.

Game starts with a good pace but as you are progressing to later ages, its getting very slow and boring. It should be the opposite..

It can take 10 minutes for your units to cross the map. Iam serious, thats how slow some units are. Production times are also extremly slow. For example basic tank is 2 minutes.

Very great game. For a free game, this is outstanding. The concept is nice, the graphics are pretty good for a free game, and its fairly user friendly, sometimes workers get stuck, but its fixable by destroying a building. I've played this game with my friends and we were all impressed with how good this free game was.

It's really fun, especially with friends.

I haven't played with other online, as I assume, like in every strat game, there are rushers. I don't want to ruin my fun by playing that.

Holy wow what a great RTS!
its early access and all but it is wicked fun going through the eras slowly trying to beat other players to the most modern era with the best units I am having a great time with this game and I can't wait for a full release. only thing I dislike is the main menu and how to choose if you want to play online with other people or with bots to experiment.
Fun game I recommend if you have quite a bit of time on your hands

It has a small community, but the game play is big (in my opinion). It’s still in early access but it’s been a blast to play for me. Sure it has some glitches, but hey it works fine if you know how to avoid them. Please do get this game, the lobbies do get kinda lonely

Much content to be developed. However, very fun to play especially when wild animals randomly attack your workers and screw you over ;)

Let me first say this, if you are in to RTS games then TRY THIS GAME OUT. It's very unique, and has a pretty solid level of polish for being early release.

This is a great game,I could see this being a very successful and competitive RTS as long as the developers listen to their fanbase and give them what they want. I'm a long time AOE2 player and this game has the potential to become a massive force in the RTS community. I've only played a game, but the civ mechanic is a breath of fresh air. You really get the feeling of raising your society out from the dark ages and into the modern era, which is really cool. I also like the amount of historical unique units. Lots of unique units gives the game massive replayability. If i could make a recommendation to the devs it would be to work on your single player VS AI experience before trying to sell anything else to the supporters. The game is definitely lacking when it comes to being able to change the settings of offline games. Even before campaign i would like to see some sort of map editor the likes of AOE2 that can support switches and data modification. Like i said, it will be up to the devs whether this game fizzles out and ends up being nothing, or if it blows up into a massive success. I think that starting by enhancing the game with the features i noted above would do a lot of good. i'd play more games this second, but i shy away from playing giant map games against impossible to lose to AI. Make the player experience more manageable with custom settings, and the game will flourish. Have your team get familiar with how editors, data mods, and custom matches work in AOE2, take what they do well and implement it. You already have very cool, unique gameplay, so taking notes on what you should do to support the player experience should be top of the list.

This game is super great when you play like 10 v 10 on a giant map. Sometimes you even play with more players. This makes the game interesting in multiple ways. Ofcourse you have the traditional type of fighting like in age of empires, but there is more. For example, you can take out 2 players now, but how will you rushing 2 players impact you later on in the game?

The good thing is, once your main building is gone, you are out. So even if your team wins, you have lost. This is why you should be careful wasting resources in rush, because it will make you a more likely target later on. Meaning your team might win, but you might lose. This way the game is really balanced, much more then I have seen in any game.

If however you get into a smaller game like 6v6 or smaller, be prepared to get rushed. Why do people rush on 6v6 and less players? Because chances are less likely that you get punished for putting your resources in troops. If you take out 2 of the enemies on a 6v6 you moste likely wont get a retaliation. However, be carefull with rush on large battles, for sure the enemy will try to find your base in return!

it used to be fun game like meam before you update so that we need to pay for diffrent game mods and game is relativly broken why wuld we pay too much like 7 euro for co op why ?? fix your game and graphic and give us some explaning when we upgrade so that we know what we gona build i played 1 match 8 fucking hours that is not normall
