In den letzten Jahren wurden Free 2 Play spiele zu einer Qual der Gamer Industrie. Entweder musst du, damit du weiterkommst, unmengen an Geld ausgeben, oder es ist verbugte Schei1e.

Warframe kann man nicht damit vergleichen.
Wenn du Borderlands kennst, und lieben gelernt hast, dabei noch das Weltraum setting magst, wirst du Warframe lieben.

Durch Items, die man in jeder Mission sammelt, kann man immer bessere Waffen bauen. Primäre, Sekundäre und Nakampfwaffen stehen einen zur Auswahl. Insgesamt gibt es über ca. 400 Waffen zum herstellen, jede andere als die du derzeit hast.

Und über 50 Champions (Warframes), die unterschiedlicher ist als deren Name.
Mit einer recht atmosphärischen Story (die mich nie richtig interessiert hat),
einem gutem Gameplay für genießer sowie für Speedrunner,
einer akzeptablen Grafik, die die Atmosphäre schmeichelt,
gutem Soundtrack,
und einem Entwicklerstudio, die die Wünsche der Fans akzeptiert und auch umsetzt.

EINER GUTEN COMMUNITY!

Jeden Monat gibt es positive Updates sowie tolle Verbesserungen.

Wenn man erst mal reingekommen ist (also ca. nach 100 Stunden lol) macht der Shit schon Laune :)
Freunde die sich auskennen sind definitiv von Vorteil, aber die Community ist auch sehr nett und hilfsbereit - insbesondere bei Anfängern :)

Diese dumme scheiße, habe das reCAPTCHA 25 mal machen müssen weil erstens nicht angezeigt wird ob der Alias noch verfügbar ist, zweitens wird mir angezeigt das ich kein Internet habe obwohl die Website lädt wie? Drittens werden mir bei dem reCAPTCHA weiße Bilder angezeigt wie soll ich dieses dann ausfüllen!!!
Ich hoffe inständig, dass die Entwickler niemals wieder ein Spiel veröffentlichen, mit solch einer Dreistigkeit!!!

Dieses Spiel hat mir mein Kumpel empfohlen und dann dachte ich mir lade es mal runter und dieses Spiel ist ein sehr tolles spiel na ja ich spiele es ja nicht als würde ich es suchten aber es macht einfach Spaß glaubt mir ladet es euch noch jetzt bei Steam KOSTENLOS runter damit ihr seht wie viel Spaß es macht:))))

Das Movement ist Top, man lernt es schnell und kann sich sehr flüssig und elegant durch die Level bewegen.
Der Nahkampf, wenn auch simpel gehalten macht auch Spaß und fühlt sich wuchtig an.

Leider merkt man in vielen Hinsichten, dass der Fokus darauf liegt, Umsatz zu machen.
-Wartezeiten von 12 Std und mehr, die man mit Platin (Ingamewährung für Echtgeld) verkürzen kann.
-Jede noch so kleine Sache braucht bestimmte Materialien, welche in manchen Hinsichten nur mit viel Glück erbeutet werden.(Aber natürlich auch käuflich ist)
-Man ist um Fortschritt zu machen gezwungen, Waffen, Warframes usw. herzustellen und die teils extremen Wartezeiten in Kauf zu nehmen, da dies der einzige Weg ist aufzusteigen und später zu bestehen.

Alles in allem kann man sagen, wenn man wirklich Lust drauf hat zu grinden was das Zeug hält und sich reinzuknien, kann man schon seinen Spaß haben.
Man muss sich halt nur bewusst sein, dass vieles extrem Zeitaufwändig ist.

Schönes Intro, gute Graphik, schönes Framedesign, wundervolle Auswahl an Waffen, Charakteren, kosmetischen Gegenständen und Missionstypen.

Was das Spiel jedoch nicht macht: Einem die Mechaniken erklären. Man braucht erst ein 3 Stunden Youtube-Tutorial, um die Schadensberechnung zu verstehen und 100 Stunden Grind, damit man eines der wirklich Endgame-Viable Frames hat, jedoch ohne passende Mods, die jedoch wieder 100+ Stunden Grind brauchen. Woher man welche Mods bekommt muss man auch im Wiki nachschlagen. Ich empfehle daher einen zweiten und dritten Bildschirm zum Recherchieren.

Die Community ist auch zweigesichtig: Es gibt freundliche Spieler, die einem Helfen, die Mechaniken zu erklären und es gibt Neider, die einem Erklären, dass man, um die Schadensberechnung zu verstehen einen 200 Stunden Grind machen soll, um eine Übungs-Ranch freizuschalten und sich selbst herleiten, wie was funktioniert. Diese Neider erklären einem auch, dass man heute viel weniger Grind für alles braucht und man alles hinterhergeworfen bekommt und das das Spiel zerstören würde; neue Spieler sind bei diesen nicht erwünscht und Interesse an den Mechaniken wird verpöhnt.

Wenn man nichts an den Einstellungen verändert, wird man in Missionen immer zufällig mit anderen Spielern gematched, man hat keinen Einfluss darauf, wer hostet und wenn man in eine Lobby mit 3 Endgame-Veteranen kommt, die Gerade eine Ressource X farmen wollen, wird man beleidigt und gemeldet, wenn man nicht 3 Stunden regungslos danebensteht.

Wenn man das Spiel spielen möchte, empfehle ich eine Gruppe an Freunden, die einen in das Spiel einführen und einem die Mechaniken erklären. Das hat mir schlussendlich doch Freude am Spielen bereitet und ich werde weitere Stunden damit verbringen über die Sternenkarte zu reisen, kann es neuen Spielern aber leider nicht empfehlen.

Vorgweg probiert es einfach aus.

Das Spiel ist perfekt wenn man langes farming lastiges gameplay mag(Ich liebe grind) ABER auch nicht ohne wenn es um variation geht. Klar fühlt es sich irgendwann recycelt an aber denkt dran, es ist Kostenlos, hat eine tolle Community und aktive Devs die immer an etwas neuem arbeiten.

oh und es gibt auch tolle anblicke ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Es entwickelt sich beständig weiter, Steuerung ist intuitiv. Die Grafik ist hübsch, kreativ und eigen. Das Spiel funktioniert, Matchmaking inklusive. Das schaffen einige Big Player nicht so gut (nicht wahr, Activision?). Ach ja - es ist free to play!

Warframe macht zu Teilen das was Anthem versucht hat, nur um längen besser und kostenfrei . Wer ein hirnloses Ballergame erwartet brauch es erst gar nicht versuchen , viele Elemente machen das Game sehr abwechslungsreich und bis man mal einen Überblick hat dauert es eine Weile . Das Spiel ist sehr verschachtelt und nimmt einem nur zum Teil an die Hand (ja es gibt einen Codex zum Nachlesen der vieles versucht zu erklären aber nicht immer ausschöpfend Hilfreich ist) , aber es gibt genug You Tube Tutorials , letz Plays ect. , die wirklich hilfreich sind . Wer das ganze Potential des Spiels ausreizen will der hat einen Berg Arbeit vor sich . Warframes gibt es zahlreiche Variationen die verschiedene Spielarten zulassen und für Echtgeld kann man sich auch fertige Sets kaufen , das heißt aber noch lange nicht das man sie auch spielen kann , das Spiel ist so konstruiert das man durch das freispielen auch genug Spielerskillz entwickelt um den entsprechenden Warframe auch zielgerichtet und effektiv einzusetzen . Für Spieler die nicht durch ein Game rushen wollen und sich mit der komplexen Mechanik auseinandersetzen wollen eine mehr als Lohnenswerter Zeitvertreib mit einer sehr netten Community die einen sehr unterstützt und das ist der heutigen Zeit eher selten (schönen Gruß an Day Z)

Devs and mods are in children mode being butthurt by the smallest things and straight out censore,delete and ban people that simply discuss their own opinion. New content takes ages to release and is for the most part super disappointing, long standing bugs never get fixed. Glory times of Warframe are over by sure.

Tolles umfangreiches Spiel. Kein PayToWin. Sehr Schade nur dass es keine Cross Save gibt damit ich meinen hart erarbeiteten Fortschritt von PS4 nicht auf PC übernehmen kann. Das drückt leider die Stimmung etwas. Aber sonst top Spiel!

Warframe,
Warframe ist ein Free to Play Action Loot Shooter der sich um seine Community sorgt.
Die Community hilft immer wenn man hilfe braucht und das auch im Chat.
Es gibt zwei Wärungen im Spiel, einmal Credits und Platinum dabei ist Credits in game wärung und Platinum bekommt man eigentlich nur durch Echtgeld, allerdings kann man Platinum auch ingame durch das handeln mit anderen Spielern bekommen und bis man das kann dauert es nicht lange.
Das Spiel ist kein Pay to win statdessen eher Pay to go Faster.
Die Story ist ein bisschen verwirrend für denn Anfang aber wenn man länger spielt und versteht was gesagt wird ist sie das nicht mehr (Die Audio im Spiel ist auf Englich und kann nicht geändert werden allerdings die Textsprache schon).
Es kommen Regelmäßig neue inhalte ins Spiel und neue Aufgaben ebenfalls.

Da ich von Destiny 2 komme, war die Umstellung auf Warframe nicht sehr schwer, auch wenn ich zu meiner Verwunderung feststellen konnte, dass Warframe wesentlich mehr zu bieten hat.
-Mehr Tiefe, wenn es um Ausrüstung und Personalisierung geht.
-Eine wunderbar schicke Grafik und flüssiges Gameplay
-Viel Content, PvE, PvP und verschiedene Missionsarten
-Shopinhalte sind kein so großer Einfluss auf das Gesamtprodukt
-Man hat viele Arten einen Kamp zu bestreiten, ob Nahkampf, Fernkampf oder Fähigkeiten usw.
- Gratis. Was soll man da mehr zu sagen? All das für Lau, ist wohl der größte Segen, nach meiner Erfahrung mit Destiny

Also von mir gibt es eine absolute Empfehlung für dieses Spiel. Ob für Anfänger oder Kampfspielveteranen, ob für Destiny Flüchtlinge oder Sci-Fi Fans, es ist für jeden was dabei.

warframe ist ein sehr gutes spiel nur hat man es als anfänger nicht gerade leicht das spiel zu verstehen. Als solo spieler ist es auch nicht gerade so amüsant auf dauer. Mit freunden und ein paar spielstunden auf der uhr wird es natürlich interessant da es dann sehr viel spaß macht

Cool setup, nice mechanics, story is not important.
Fights are fun. Upgrading + tweaking your weapons an Tenno is fun.

Am Anfang etwas überfordernd aufgrund der vielen Möglichkeiten, aber nach etwas Spielzeit bin ich froh dem Spiel eine Chance gegeben zu haben.
Man kann hier an sich mit dem kostenlosen Spiel nichts falsch machen und fühlt sich als Spieler fair behandelt, da man alles im Spiel bekommen kann ohne Geld zu investieren.

Das Spiel kann sehr viel Spaß machen, wenn man kein Problem mit Grinding hat, da man anfangs lang und viel grinden muss um gutes Equipment zu bekommen.
Es spricht dafür, das Spiel zu spielen:
-Fortgeschrittene Bewegungsmechaniken wie z.B. der Bullet-Jump, Sliden oder Doppelsprünge
-Nette Community die gerne Fragen beantwortet
-verhältnismäßig große Menge an Content für ein F2P-Spiel
-Kein Bedarf Echtgeld für Echtgeldwährung ausgeben zu müssen, da man sich dies z.B. mit anderen Spielern im Gegenzug für bestimmte In-Game-Teile ertauschen kann
-anfängerfreundlicher Einstieg
-viel Variation in der Spielweise und im Spielstil, durch die Verschiedenen Mechaniken und Warframes
-nahezu Alles ist individualisierbar mit z.B. Skins oder Farbpaletten
-das Spiel wird regelmäßig geupdatet

Was dagegen spricht, das Spiel zu spielen:
-man braucht zwar keinen High-End-PC um das Spiel zu spielen, aber man sollte über den Empfohlenen Equipment für das Spiel liegen, da es ansonsten nur lagt und den Spielspaß trüben könnte
-bei einigen Missionen dauert es bis zu 10 Minuten, bis man eine zweite Person gefunden hat, mit der man die Mission spielen kann
-wie Anfangs erwähnt ist das Spiel nix für schnelle Spelerfahrungen, da man sich erst einmal das passende Equipment zusammensuchen muss um lanfristigen Spielspaß zu haben

Fazit:
Mir hat das Spiel sehr viel Spaß gemacht, und wenn man passende Leute hat, mit denen man das Spiel zocken kann macht es nochmal deutlich mehr Spaß! Ich kann jedem wärmstens empfehlen, wenigstens einen Blick in die Welt von Warframe zu riskieren. Und wer weiß: vielleicht begegnen wir uns ja auch mal in Warframe! :)

das spiel ist sehr umfangreich klar als neuling bekommt mann viel auf einmal und weiss gar nicht wo man anfangen soll aber man darf nicht vergessen das alle updates was neue spiel inhalte kostenlos sind was in der heutigen spiele zeit eine ausnahme ist die community ist sehr nett und hilft wenn mann fragen hat und helfen gerne aus und was mann im shop kaufen kann ist nur kosmetischer natur und die frames die mann kaufen kann kann man auch erfarmen was nicht schierig ist und ich hab von dem game bis heute nicht genug obwohl ich über 1300 stunden auf der uhr hab ich spiele es seit dem es draußen ist

Faires F2P System mit hohem Grinding Anteil was aber nicht stört da man zum Grinden sich wenigstens mit Stil durch Gegnerhorden schlachten darf. Story überraschend gut ausgebaut und man sollte der Storyline schon folgen wenn man die wichtigen Hauptelemente auch nutzen möchte.

Es ist ein fantastisches Spiel. Die Story ist zuerst schwer zu verstehen, aber nachdem du etwas länger spielst, wird dir alles klar. Das Spiel ist auch abwechslungsreich, da du verschiedene Waffen oder Warframes erfarmen / kaufen musst. Du musst Mods suchen und finden um stärker zu werden. Du kann Solo oder auch in einem 4-Team zusammen spielen, trainieren und kämpfen. Das Spiel ist meiner Meinung nach, sehr Zeitaufwendig wenn man es intensiv richtig spielen möchte. Zum Schluss muss ich sagen das es für ein kostenloses Spiel der Hammer ist. Die Grafik, einfach alles ist super. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen.

Probably the best free to play game out there. Up to par with games that require a monthly subscribtion.
Simply love the movement in this game. No other game can compare in this regard, at least for me.

You start grinding, then you grind a lil' more, after that you grind a lot more, then you start grinding with your friends, after that you grind platine & spenting hours in market and waiting the buyer answer your offer, then you grind a bit more waiting for the seller to hand over that nice looking gold drop you wanted but couldnt drop no matter what, after all this grind you can have a nice looking GRIND PRIME. By looks alone Rhino Grind its my favourite, but for being useful, Wukong > all. GO BACK TO (Monke) GRIND

From not being interested at all, going to playing every day and achieve almost everything, I can say that Warframe is a game that demands so much of you but at the same you feel greatly rewarded for what's to come, the grind can be a little obnoxious but if you're already use to it, then you can get through with it.

I can tell a lot more of the great things this game has to offer, but you have to check it for yourself, only then you'll know how good this game can be.

PD: Atlas Prime my boy, we'll play again one of these days :')

After more than 3750+ hours on this game, starting on the Switch version on launch before switching to PC, and at MR16, it is clear that this completely free-to-play game is worth every bit of your time. Unlike other people, I have avoided burnout by interacting with Warframe's extremely helpful and non-toxic fandom, such as streamers, chatting on Discord, and others. Why should you play this?

- Easy to play, hard to master
- One of the BEST storylines that I have EVER seen out of a free-to-play game.
- The guns, melees and Warframes all feel fun to use
- Doesn't take much to run
- One of the most helpful communities out there
- Completely free-to-play; Platinum is not locked behind purchasing items, and can be acquired via the trading system
- The developers actually STREAM their own game regularly, and take feedback!
- Easy to put down for a month or two to help avoid burnout.
- Funny enemy interactions
and so much more.

Reminder, this game is FREE-TO-PLAY, and cheaters are so little because this is a co-op game, and it really doesn't mean anything.

Since I noticed I'd hit exactly 4,000 hours on this game, I figured I should finally write a review.

I really do love this game. I've been playing on and off for something like five years now. Even if I go on hiatus for months or even longer, I can always come back to it, and there will be something for me to do. I enjoy the gameplay loop, I'm invested in so many of the characters, and the amount of customization available for your warframe is just fantastic.

This game is entirely free-to-play, but it's one I gladly put money into. I love it.

It’s difficult to sum up Warframe in just a small blurb. Is it a loot and shooter? Not really, more like Shoot-Then-Crafter. It definitely has some comparisons to be made to the likes of Destiny, but I find Warframe to be superior in the gameplay department.

I eventually got bored with Destiny. With only three classes with a single major gimmick, Warframe has over forty frames that all function differently on a fundamental level. While some have their own AoE’s and DoT’s that may function similarly in the sense that it all serves to kill your enemy, they still all play a little differently. Octavia, a bard-type, has a massive AoE that you can also attach to a rollerball and have it run around the map to kill enemies. Meanwhile Protea, a gadgeteer, has some grenades she can toss out that also serve as a temporary AoE but they’re stationary. Both are very good at locking down entry points, but they utilize different tactics. The list can go on forever.

It’s a very fun game. You bounce around maps like a mad space ninja and the parkour is very intuitive, all you have to do is hold Spacebar to wall run but the rest of the movement controls are usually just a mix of crouching and jumping. It doesn’t take all day to learn the controls, as I learned when I recently returned after about three years away from the game. After that, it’s mostly the standard fare of clear enemies, complete objectives. They’ve mixed it up over the years by adding other mission types like the Railjack, a massive ship that clans can outfit and you go out to have actual, full on space battles. It’s designed to have a full team on it, with multiple turrets and a driver. It’s pretty cool, but so far I’ve only done it twice. However I can imagine for most of the playerbase, they’re probably doing defenses and wave-based missions.

The game is largely pretty balanced. I’ve been informed by multiple sources that most frames and weapons function on higher level play. Some synergize better than others, like how you probably don’t want a single-target boss killer on a defense mission with hordes running at you. That kind of thing, but this really is a horde game so you generally want to use a frame that can affect higher groups of enemies. In that way, some frames generally go unused as a community consensus. And you probably don’t want to be stuck using that Braton for very long.

Now, I’m giving this game a thumbs up but I will be punctuating this review with a big negative. So let it be said: I like the game. I’m putting some real hours (and money) into it because I enjoy it, and I like what it has become. I’ll be playing after this review.

However, there is some aggressive monetization here. Yes, technically the game is completely free to play. Almost everything from the in-game shop can be acquired ingame through blueprints. However this takes an incredible amount of time. My brother lost his account from a while back and has recently taken the game up again only to find the grind to be damn near unbearable. He was stuck with a couple of frames he didn’t care for (I bought his Nidus for him) and found that there were blueprints -for- more blueprints. To unlock a frame, you not only need to find (or also, buy with easily acquired in-game credits) the main blueprint but then you also need to farm up the various three blueprints that form the frame. Then the actual material grind comes into play, which isn’t always so bad in itself but certain ones, like Argon Crystals, will decay over time. Good god.

Then there’s the Mastery rank. There’s a lot of gear locked behind your personal mastery, which you can only acquire by ranking up a bunch of gear. Gear you can only get by farming and grinding out. Again, some of it is easier than others but I can see how it’s a huge pain in the ass for new players to come across. I am employed with some occasional disposable income so I don’t mind dropping the occasional money to nab cool stuff, as there’s plenty I still want to earn from the game itself (Octavia Prime is my current goal). I can just see how a wall of grind might run into players eventually, and that’s quite the shame.

Really depends on the kind of gameplay loop you enjoy. Warframe has tens of thousands of concurrent players so it’s not at all a dead game. (I’ve seen some multiplayer games sustain themselves with only ~2,000). There’s people here, clans to join, channels to chat with, a lot of enemies to shoot and tons of toys to play with. At the very least, it is free to install.

I like this game, however imo after a month or two of inactivity you can really be left behind. Other than that it's a very grindy game. Takes a lot of playtime and effort to, it's gameplay and movement are addicting. The game gets steady updates every month or month and a half. I recommend the game to anyone and everyone, it's free, not pay to win but optional to smooth your grind out if you don't wanna grind that much and all items can be gained in the game except Tennogen content, those are made by workshop creators and the money earned from them are earned. When we had raids it was fun, ever since than It's just managable to spend some time on this game. Grind is for real, real F2P, no need to spend at all and you can get everything by just playing and spending a lot of time.

Try to find a good game that ALSO has a totally not P2W monetization.
You may find some. I doubt it though.

In this game you can actually play for free. Though, you could throw some money at them sometimes if you got some lying around.

Another nice feature is, unlike dozens of other games, inventory management is completely automatic. Meaning you will never have to stop your actual gameplay to sort inventory for a few hours. Loot more and more and more until you're bored of looting.

Just careful with Region chat, or any chat in general. Trade chat is like jumping into a pit full of piranhas. Do Warframe.market, much better.
Also, keep in mind the customer service is terrible (not just my opinion, ask around).

They ruined this game for me. Been playing since 2014 and maybe it is just my nostalgia goggles talking, but I don't think so. It's just a shell of its former self. All of my friends moved on right before plains of eidolon, and it just seems like everything has been falling apart since then. I guess they made the right decision. I can see how it would be fun for new players who don't know what it was like 5 or 6 years ago. I am done following a company that refuses to hold itself accountable, and spits out garbage unfinished content over and over again. They have completely spit in the face of their veteran player base and it is only a matter of time before the new player base realises why we left. Thank you for all the great memories, but I am done.

Just a disclaimer before we start: English isn't my first language, so I am very sorry for any grammar errors.

I started playing this game because my cousin told me one day to try it out. What was an activity that was just passing time at first became a fun common occurence between my cousin and I.

As a girl who grew up playing with dolls and dress-up games, this game is a perfect middle ground for me and my cousin to both enjoy. He would go about egging me to join him for sorties or bosses to fight, while I would spend (way too much) time on customising my Warframes and making them as pretty as possible.

As someone who really believes in showing gratitude, I have spent a lot of money to give back to the developers.

This game is a wonderful work of art. The constant developments, albeit sometimes underwhelming patch notes, grows on you. It follows the tune of life, where we constantly have to grow and learn, mature and adapt.

Third time playing the game in 6 years, but first time I actually got addicted to it.
It definitely improved immensely over the years, not to mention tons of new content.

Unlike other online games, playing in public is mostly painless and doesn't require much communication, so this is actually the first game I actively use public matchmaking when I'm not with friends. But friends are still important in keeping you invested in the game; I started a tiny clan with a couple of friends and we've all (surprisingly) stuck around for a couple of months now.

Becoming a trader was probably the other half of what got me so attached to the game; being able to make an insane amount of platinum opened a lot of avenues to get new weapons, frames and mods.

All in all, an amazing free-to-play game where the premium currency can easily be earned via trading, and without spending a single cent.

I recommend giving it a try.
Give it a day or two of playing as the first hour doesn't really capture a lot of the fun you can have as you progress.

After two years of intense grinding i am now educated in pure meme culture that i cant live without anymore, you might ask what you're reading but i've been asking myself what i've been doing the past two years and i cant say i know anymore. So I was just reading the negative reviews of other players with multiple thousands of gameplay hours and thought those hypocrites need balancing out. All those gameplay hours still exist in the game. Nobody took them away. You can still do all the same things they did 'back in the good days'. The only difference is that now there is even more of it and they just got bored of the game AFTER SPENDING 2000 QUALITY HOURS! Can you really blame the game for that? Everyone gets bored of everything eventually, there is no escape from the reality. Quit for a year like I did. Play something else. Maybe come back, maybe don't. Does not change the fact the game still has all the same amazing content it always had and more.

Prior to this year, the game used to be fantastic, although very grindy. Now the devs have been nerfing and changing many aspects of the game and made it more grindier than before. The nerfing of weapons and warframes that I spent so much time grinding for got so bad, that I decided to quit. I felt that it wasn't for me anymore.

If you enjoy the repetitive grind, this game might be for you.

The game play is fun albeit a bit (lots) grindy. I've had a ton of fun with it the 7 years (1000+h) I've played.

Unfortunately the support for this game is abysmal and thus I cannot recommend this game as they can ban you for no reason whenever they want. I have been banned for no reason (no offence/no plat trade/no cheats/nothing) for 15 years (the dreaded automated jan 2035 ban) and still waiting for a response from their support (18 days and counting).

Edit:
They finally answered after 26(!) days and lifted my ban/suspension with an apology. The reason for the ban? Something triggered the automatic ban system they have in place. As to what triggered it they don't know but seems like a hardware failure of some sort can trigger it. Faulty memory/overclock/vpn/hardrive error/etc.

I've gone through everything at this point: boot-time scan/memtest/hd tune, all systems working as intended. I guess freedome VPN could be a/the culprit so a heads up to those who use it.

fun for like 1 day until you realise its grinding for something which unlocks more grinding to get something that you need to grind for so you can have a weapon or something that helps you grind for other stuff. there is no endgame... steel path is not end game its just a lie DE can choke on so they dont have to make one

It's a free-to-play skinner box grindfest but also extremely fun to move around the map, and there are probably 1000 different paths of progress to be grinding on, so you can always feel slightly productive.

At the point of time of writing this review, DE has yet to be bought and I have had 4683 hours of play time on steam, if you asked young me would i recommend this game, sure. But the future of this game is rather dim in my eyes.

Warframe is certainly a very good game for a F2P game, it has graphics compatible to a paid one, variety is the calling card of this game, with highly varied choices of frames for you to play as, each equipped with a different arsenal of badassery, with weapons of equally matched variety when it comes to types and builds. Warframe is by no means low quality, and is highly competitive when it comes to looter games.

But recently, the quality in updates has plummeted drastically. From Kuva Liches, a first thought-to-be game changing system introducing a new type of relationship built between the players and a powerful enemy, to the very simple difficulty increasing Steel Path, its clear that these updates have become more and more effortless and that their sole purpose is for marketing. Many of the updates they've pushed out have ceased to live up to community expectations drawn from what they managed to change and revolutionize in previous updates, and showing the fact that DE as game developers, knows very little about what the player desires and what the game needs.

I hope that the quality of future updates and changes will prove this review to be irrational hate and overly harsh skepticism, but for now this game is declining in quality and I could not recommend someone else spending 4k hours like I do.

Warframe was one of my favourite games, the play to win and not pay to win system made it so much better for everyone. But as the years went by and with less to do after finishing every achievement, quest and grinded all frames and weapons and finished that last MR test, there was nothing left that would keep me in the game more than logging on only to help and guide others. The newer updates are dreadful in my eyes and I feel like the game has lost its touch, so the Warframe I knew and enjoyed I will be forever thankful for and the friends I made during this time, playing and having fun together. But I will never go back fully to it. I will still give a thumbs up for the old content, it's a game worth trying even though it's a bit hard in the beginning before you figure out how it works.

Warframe's core elements, those beings its combat system and art style, are fantastic and unique. They are also the only reason I've played this game as much as I have. These strong features are severely dragged down by layers upon layers of poorly designed peripheral systems and mechanics. Warframe often feels as if its developers are infatuated and bored with their product simultaneously. Updates have a tendency to be attempts to stitch interesting elements of other games (and other genres) to Warframe, but with no understanding of why those elements worked in their original form. Digital Extreme's design philosophy seems to prioritize a pretense of style and mystique over everything else.

I've found that my favorite games pick something specific to focus on and then seek to perfect that something. Warframe is pretty much the opposite of this, its bloated, clumsy, and its mechanical depth is largely an illusion. I firmly believe that the art team at Digital Extremes is extremely talented and are responsible for most of the game's success.

After spending a fair bit of time, money and being quite committed to the game for a solid year, it was time to stop.

The first several hours are shallow.
The next 40 are thrilling.
The next 400 are fulfilling.
The next 1000 are wasted.

Fun. A late-game power fantasy. A second job.

A game with enchanting potential, but not enough direction to fulfill it. The development team is under shareholder pressure to pump out 'content' frequently, but the capacity to keep up with expectations isn't there. The fun is lost in attempts to pad-out content.

If you go ahead with the game, be conscious of feeling exhausted or losing sight of what you're doing at the computer. It's easy to fall into a mindset where being efficient means pushing yourself forward unreasonably. I fear that mindset of tolerating the game is what kept me on the hook for so long.
