Watch Dogs 2: Everything's Connected
This review contains no major spoilers.-Overview-
Watch Dogs 2 is the sequel to the original Watch Dogs. It's set in San Francisco, a good-looking city, that has little representation in this genre, apart from GTA: San Andreas back in 2004. In the metropolis, everything's connected with the new ctOS 2.0, a computer system originally designed to manage the infrastructure of Chicago during the events of the first Watch Dogs. CtOS 2.0 is an improved version of it. The story focuses on a group of young characters who want to change society. You assume the role of Marcus Holloway, who joins a group of young hackers named DedSec to take down Blume, the corporation who invented ctOS. You don't need to play the first game to experience Watch Dogs 2, as it focuses on totally different characters in another city.-Summary-

-Deep Analysis-
▲ Pros
1. Visuals There have been only a few times where I've been totally immersed in a game's environment, and Watch Dogs 2 is one of these cases. San Francisco here is alive, technological, and stunning to look at. Whether you're crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, or doing parkour to reach the peak of high buildings, the city always looks gorgeous. It is also full of secondary quests and side activities to do. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2446407622 2. Gameplay The gameplay of Watch Dogs 2 is well-crafted and can bring you many hours of fun, most of it definitely comes from the hacking system. In this game, everything revolves around hacking. Unlike in games such as GTA, it's recommended to think of a good plan before going on a mission. In fact, if you're good enough, you can play almost every mission silently. There are two devices (apart from your smartphone, which takes care of most of the hacks) that can help you a lot in planning the best way to do a mission. The first one is called the Jumper, and the second one is the Quadcopter. The Jumper is a ground drone, and it's the most useful object in the game. It can help you spot enemies and analyze the place of a mission before physically going there. It can also unlock doors, getting special permissions, and complete many mission objectives. However, it can also be easily spotted, so you have to be careful when going around with this little thing. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2471041185 You can do the same with Quadcopter except it can fly. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2471041104 3. Stealth System As previously mentioned, thanks to the hacking system and some other useful tools such as the taser, you can do a lot of missions without getting your hands dirty. To get the best possible result, you have to use a combination of all the gadgets you have at your disposal. While the Jumper and the taser are available from early on, the Quadcopter is a device you have to buy separately with ingame currency. I'd recommend getting it as soon as possible. 4. Soundtrack I really liked the soundtrack of this game. There are many good songs, even famous hits, all available while you're driving or through the Media Player app on your phone. You can listen to them anytime you want. Not all of the songs are unlocked from the start, but you can unlock other ones through Soundcloud, an app on your smartphone similar to Shazam, which recognizes new songs and directly adds them to the Media Player app. 5. Skill Tree The ability tree in Watch Dogs 2 features a nice and varied set of skills you can unlock or improve to push your hacking, aim, or driving to the ultimate level. There are a lot of cool options, for example you can unlock a massive hack that causes all cars to go hay-wire. Crazy!▼ Cons
1. Level Design Now, it may be me..but in some cases, the level design was quite confusing. A few times, I didn't know what I should do, or where I should go, and had to go to YouTube to find out. I don't consider this a major flaw, but still I had to talk about it. 2. Invasive UI If there's something I dislike about this game, it's about the UI. I think that overall it's really great, but sometimes it becomes too much invasive for my taste. For example, there's a persistent white dot at the centre of the screen and I don't know why it's there. When you're driving a car, it's still there. I was annoyed by it and decided to install a mod to remove it, and nothing changed in my gameplay, so I really can't understand why they did that. Then, there's a skill which lets you know when some random NPC has a lot of money in his bank account, so you can hack it. However, the way the game notifies you of that is quite annoying. It shows four blue lines in the form of a square around the NPC, and that thing lasts quite a while. The problem is that the game notifies you of it even when you're inside of a building and you can't see the NPC, or when you're on a mission, and once you unlock the skill, you can't disable it. If you're annoyed by this kind of things, you'll probably be bothered by this one too, but once again.. it's not that big of a deal. 3. Driving I feel like the driving in Watch Dogs 2 is too much arcade-ish. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's like if some vehicles are too slow and others are too fast. The maneuverability of cars is almost the same for every vehicle, and the only thing that changes with different ones is just the speed and the design of them. It's worth noting though that it's not an issue that ruins the experience too much.Rating: Very Good
Click here for the complete Rating Chart Playing Watch Dogs 2 is a really great and fun experience. The city of San Francisco is so alive and detailed that walking through it almost feels like going on a virtual tour. Listening to the ingame tracks while the protagonist has his earphones on is a nice detail too. The gameplay is great, the hacking system is amazing and everything feels like a well-crafted product. I fully recommend this game. Anyway, props to you, Ubisoft.

Welcome to San Francisco
Watch dogs 2 takes places in San Francisco and continues on the storyline of the main game. The game plays way more differently compared to Watch Dogs. For starters, Its harder to do missions silently, you need to pay 10x for any car on demand. The San Francisco map looks literally gorgeous, it looks and feels amazing, but I dont recommend you run it on ultra if you dont own a PC that can properly run Yandere Simulator. The good Parts: Amazing depiction of San Francisco, It feels Great. Parkour is awesome. Just play around with it. Great driving unlike the first game. The bad parts: Dialogue, voice actors did good but some lines come off cheesy at best. Requirements: Its hard to run it. Still no flyable items. 7.8/10 is gud

???? Description:
Ubisoft has had a bad reputation over the years in terms of their game building strategy. There are times, when they create amazing games and there are other times, when they basically “milk” an already used concept. Having played Watch Dogs 1 in the past, my expectations in the beginning were quite low, since the promises made in 2012 E3 were not fulfilled. I have never said Watch Dogs 1 is a bad game (don’t get me wrong) but the franchise had so much potential, that thankfully I was able to see with my own eyes in its current sequel.???? Plot:
Summary
Having failed to manage the Chicago’s city-wide infrastructure, due to the influence of our beloved Aiden Pierce, the CTOS (Central Operating System) which connects everyone and everything has been installed in San Francisco. This time under new management called Blume. Even though the system has been upgraded to its newest version CTOS 2.0, it covertly brings harm to many innocent citizens of the city, including our protagonist. Marcus Holloway an intelligent hacker from Oakland, having been accused for a crime he did not commit, decides to work with the hacking group called DedSec. Their new purpose is to take down Blume’s influence over the city.Characters
Watch Dogs 2 lets us embark on a thrilling adventure. The plot revolves around a group of outlaws whose actions and thoughts can be very relatable to our own, compared to the “vigilantly arc” experienced in the previous game. The cast has a funny (sometimes goofy) personality, with clear motivations and an intriguing character progression. The conversations can indeed become time to time “nerdy” and “cringe worthy”, but it's those features that make the interactions unique, and thus more memorable. The dialogue ranges from happy moments to very dark ones depending on the circumstances, giving us plenty of material to reflect upon. The only down side in my opinion is the main “villain” of the story.Lesser Evil?
As you will see for yourself during your playthroughs, there will be times where you going to question both sides of the coin. Many arguments reflected upon the “villains”, have a very valid point. Of course, they engage in illegal activities (same goes for DedSec) which is considered an evil approach. However, their cause, for me at least, is far more justifiable that the one which DedSec stands for. A feeling that seems out of place, since the game in my opinion has no intention to offer. The writing is enjoyable but not perfect. There are flaws and plot holes, which to be honest was expected, considering the fact that the game focuses almost completely on its gameplay aspect.????️ Gameplay:
Watch Dogs 2 gameplay wise, truly outdid itself for many reasons:Difficulty
There is nothing much to mention here except from the Realistic mode. In other words, enemies become smarter and more accurate with aim. Their health is slightly raised but they take the same amount of damage as before. It really raises the stakes, which will ultimately prove useful if you ever play online against other players!Hacking
The hacking feature of the game, the soul and core of the franchise, is challenged to its fullest potential. You can hack cars, lights, robots, phones etc in many different ways, something that the Watch Dogs 1 experience clearly lacked. Furthermore, the many newly added features, such as drones, provide an amazing toolkit for the stealth lovers. Now, many missions can be completed without even having to engage in any combat. The clever touch that Ubisoft added was the battery system. You have a limited use of the hacking ability, a smart way which keeps in check the ending god mode feeling. This way, you are forced to follow a more strategic approach during your missions, by focusing more on your upgrades, ability trees as well as stealth and hacking. The bar can be replenished though, so don't worry.Movement - Combat
The parkour aspect and the fighting style in general feels dynamic and fresh, with newly added animations that left me speechless. Marcus does flips, tricks and many more moves, which brings a smooth feeling when free roaming. During combat you can notice many details that both the protagonist and the Npcs share. For example, when different gangs fought each other, 3 SWAT trucks came in immediately to protect the citizens. The wanted system in my humble opinion is much more realistic than GTA V, a feature that I prefer you to find out yourself during your playthroughs.Exploration
San Francisco is beautiful and vast with a colorful, warming aesthetic that pleases the eye even in the most extreme situations like police chases. Driving is smooth and fun, which can prove handy in many occasions with special tweaks that I won’t spoil. There is a variety of vehicles from the faster to the humbler ones, all easily obtainable in every corner of the map. Overall, the way the world is expressed in this game, compared to its predecessor is one of the biggest ways Watch Dogs 2 improved from the original. The Npcs finally feel alive and have a purpose. You even can pet DOGS for god’s sake! The freedom of choice is not negligible, as customization offers a variety of options that can please even the most demanding players. Gamepad is highly recommended!???????? Graphics
Watch Dogs 2 has amazing graphics. For a game that's almost 5 years old, they hold up pretty well. Details such as the fog that occurs during a rainy day, create an atmospheric feeling that I really enjoy watching. The only downside here are the character models. In my opinion, they could dedicate more time polishing the product as cutscenes sometimes look disturbing.???? Soundtrack
The music plays a huge role in this game. I still remember the mission where Fortunate Son soundtrack was playing in the back, as I was heading guns blazing into the fight. Of course, there are some skipable songs here and there, but the missions become more fun and memorable with such additions like the one mentioned above.????️ Side Notes:
Co-op remains among its least approachable and yet most buggy features, but let it not discourage you from giving it a try. There are the familiar invasions, bounty hunter modes as well as many online activities where you can bring havoc either with friends or random people you meet online. Lately Epic Store has offered the game for free to many players. As a result, online became relevant and thus more enjoyable! The DLCs are good yet short. I advise you to wait for the Steam sales before buying this game since the prize can be little spicy. ???????? Verdict:
Watch dogs 2 deserves the title of the perfect sequel as it improves whatever came before it. The writing can be considered a delicate topic; however, the gameplay redeems the whole concept.

Introduction
Watch Dogs 2 is a 2016 open-world game set in the San Francisco Bay Area. In Watch Dogs 2, you play as a young hacktivist called Marcus Holloway. With your DedSec friends at your side, it's your goal to tear down the system and show the world that Blume and its ctOS are corrupt. Use your skills to take advantage of your environment to sneak by or take down your foes.Story
The story of Watch Dogs 2 is pretty basic. You shouldn't go into this game expecting a fantastic story. In terms of story telling, the first Watch Dogs game was probably a bit better. As a way to provide incentive for the player to play through the game and complete various missions, the story is fine. But it doesn't really get better than that. There are some moments that are supposed to be heartfelt and emotional, for example, when a certain character dies. But unfortunately I was pretty indifferent, as they are one of the most basic characters in the game. However, even if they aren't very deep, the characters are still pretty good. The banter between the characters is fun, and I especially like the witty comments of Wrench.Gameplay
In terms of gameplay and atmosphere, I think this game is much better than its predecessor. Watch Dogs 1 is a fine game, but I enjoyed this one a lot more. The 'hacking' aspect is pretty basic, but as a fun gameplay mechanic to use your environment to your advantage, it does a good job. Not all missions in this game were created equally, but most missions are pretty fun, and allow you to approach them in several ways. You can bust in and shoot everything in sight, but you can also make a fuse box emit sparks to draw in a nearby enemy, and then make it blow to shock and stun them. How you approach the missions is up to the player. However, you take a lot of damage (especially on harder difficulties), and there is no such thing as armour to protect yourself. The protagonist is a computer-savvy young man, not a soldier. So I think it kinda makes sense. Even though the game can be played any way you want, I found this game to be far more enjoyable if it's played like a stealth game. Later on in the game you also unlock some pretty overpowered upgrades, such as dropping bombs from your drone. In my opinion it's a lot more fun if you try not to abuse the overpoweredness of these upgrades. Use your drone for observing only, don't just drop bombs on everything that moves. It eliminates a lot of the challenge, and with that also the fun. Easy mode is a bit too easy, but hard (and ESPECIALLY realistic mode) can sometimes be a bit much. This game is best enjoyed on medium mode, with the occasional hard mode for some extra challenge. Realistic mode is just not fun. The enemy detection can be a bit weird/unfair as is (aka if a guard dog spots you, it telepathically lets the whole base know where you are). Realistic mode is actually just brutal difficulty, as it can be quite unfair, and just spoils the experience most times. This one is only for those looking for a real challenge, or the insane. There is also a multiplayer mode, where you can play with or against other players. There are 2 player coop missions, a bounty hunter mode where you hunt down enemy players (or get hunted down other players and have to try to escape, and even a 4 player mode where you and 3 other players (be it friends or random people online) can mess around and play a variety of gamemodes. At launch the multiplayer was a bit crap, but these days the multiplayer is pretty stable, and a lot of fun. Playing with random people online is fine, but it can be a bit boring if you have a bad coop mate. Playing with friends is where the multiplayer truly shines. The open world
The game is set in the San Francisco Bay Area. Due to the NPC's it is also pretty lively. You will encounter them having conversations, smashing car windows, calling each-other out and fighting, [strike] running each other over because the driving AI is a bit stupid [/strike] driving around, cheering you on if you do donuts with your car, and reacting to your actions in various other ways. Random things can also happen, such as two factions brawling with each-other. And from what I have seen, it's also a fairly accurate recreation of the SF area, with a few differences to fit better with the game. And it also just looks really nice, especially thanks to the graphical details.Graphics and performance
The graphics are very good. They hold up very well for a game that's almost 4 years old. Some graphical details such as the San Francisco fog, the falling leaves and the shaders are very pleasing to look at. In terms of performance, it can be a kind of sluggish. But if your pc can handle it, it looks very nice. Sometimes it does crash seemingly at random, but it's not that frequent. I've had many play sessions where I play for hours on end with zero crashes. There are also some glitches, but I'd say most of them are more funny than game-breaking (think scissor lifts sliding across the ground when they get knocked over, stuff like that). Out of the pc and console versions, I would say that the console versions are more stable, at the cost of giving up a moderate amount of graphical detail and framerate.Soundtrack
The soundtrack is pretty good. Not all songs are great (there a lot of songs that I don't care for), but there are some catchy songs, and it even introduced me to some I had never heard before. In addition to an original soundtrack, there are also a lot of regular songs that weren't made specifically for this game. There is pop, rock, hip-hop, reggae, and more, so there's a lot of variety.Summary and conclusion
In short, Watch Dogs 2 is a fun open-world game where you manipulate your environment with your hacks to complete missions, albeit with a few technical hiccups and a story that leaves something to be desired. The open world is lively and fun to explore, and the multiplayer is also fun to play with your mates. All in all, I definitely recommend you give this game a shot. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and put countless hours into it across multiple platforms. Is it worth the full 60 euro's? I'm not sure. But if you wait until it's on sale, you can get the full game and all major DLC for 30 euro's, which is definitely worth it.

Performance
Not much to say here really, I had virtually no issues in terms of performance and stability, while playing I had a stable frame rate and only ever had the game crashed thrice throughout the entire story.Graphics
The game is quite beautiful but you can start to tell they are a bit outdated. I didn’t have any graphical glitches or errors in my time playing.Gameplay
Here is the meat of it and arguably the most important part of the game. The gameplay in Watch_Dogs 2 is phenomenal. While the game both looks and presents itself similarly to GTA it is vastly different because of the hacking. In terms of the hacking there is way more you are able to do compared with the first game, while the basics from the first game are there you can now do way more and it feels like a main part of the game as opposed to a gimmick. For example you can hack into someones phone and have them assassinated by a gang or even start a faction war between two groups to distract them. There is also way more to hack and control such as cars and other vehicles. They’ve also added two RC drones which allow for different styles of gameplay, both the drone and RC car are great additions and adds interesting and unique ways to solve the “puzzle” of each mission. Of course you can still go in guns blazing if you want or even stealth around and hack but there being different options keeps the game fresh and can make each situation unique. The World
If there is one thing Ubisoft exceeds at it’s there worldbuilding. This is perhaps the best living city I’ve ever played, the city feels real and alive and makes sense. Having a little description of each NPC and the ability to listen in on some of their conversations makes it feel all the more real and like these people actually inhabit it. The world has a lot of detail in it that appears to make it a real city.Story
Now here in my opinion is the weakest part of the game. The tone of the story here is vastly different from the first game and I will be going into minor spoilers here for both Watch_Dogs and Watch_Dogs 2. The tone of this game is bit silly and goofy as opposed to the more raw and serious nature of the Watch_Dogs1(Aiden Pearce). Instead of being a vigilante out for revenge you are a member of the hacker group DedSec out to expose the big corporation Blume for their evil deeds with data collection. Each of the characters in the game with the exception of the “villian” are goofy. The dialogue for most of these characters is to me quite unbearable but hidden under this dialogue is an interesting premise As you go through and expose more and more evil that each of the big tech companies is doing it feels very real, and like you are doing something important. However the dialogue and goofy nature takes away from this as well as the methods that you take in achieving these ends.
The weakest part of the story is the “villain” which again is in quotes for a reason. The villain is the CTO of Blume who wants to use people's personal data for financial gain as well as developing new technologies he believes humanity will want and may even help them. Of course he also engages in fraud and other illegal activities, but it is kind of hard to absolutely hate the guy when he often does have a point and isn’t really even evil. To be completely honest I have sympathy with him and what DedSec was doing made me question whether or not what my character was doing was the right choice. I don’t think the game intends this but it is what I got.
Conclusion
While Watch_Dogs 2 is by no means a perfect game. But it’s gameplay puts it miles above what Watch_Dogs was even though it’s story is lackluster in some parts. While I didn’t like the dialogue of the characters and the lack of a grandiose story I still got a lot of enjoyment out of it and would definitely recommend it.
