Für Fans traditioneller Rallyes bietet das Spiel einen Karrieremodus, der auf Zeitfahrten während der Einzelrennen und der Weltmeisterschaftsserie basiert. Rallye-Cross-Fans werden auch nicht enttäuscht - sie können mehrere Gegner zu Kopf-an-Kopf-Rennen herausfordern, die auf realen und fiktiven Rennveranstaltungen basieren.

Xpand Rally ist das einzige Rennspiel auf dem Markt, dass wirtschaftliche Faktoren in ein Rallyspiel einbezieht. Der Spieler startet mit einer Schrottkarre und tritt in Rennen an, um Geld zu verdienen und damit sein Auto zu verbessern, Schäden zu reparieren, den Motor zu tunen und Anmeldegebühren für neue Rennen zu bezahlen.

Neben dem Tuning beeinflusst auch der Zustand deines Wagens das Handling. Durch das genaue Schadensmodell ist das Handling stark von den Fahrfähigkeiten des Spielers abhängig. Die Fahrphysik wird außerdem von den verwendeten Autoteilen beeinflusst und liefert sowohl ein authentisches Fahrgefühl als auch Freude am Fahren.

Die interaktiven Rennstreckenumgebungen mit verbesserter Spielphysik sowie die innovative Herangehensweise, die Tageszeit und das Wetter das Handling des Rennwagens beeinflussen zu lassen, sind weitere Markenzeichen von Xpand Rally, die es aus der Masse der Rennspiele hervorhebt.

Als erstes Rallyespiel enthält Xpand Rally einen kompletten Satz einfach zu benutzender Werkzeuge, um neue Strecken, Wagen oder sogar Mods zu erstellen.

Gutes solides Autorennspiel für den kleinen Geldbeutel. Steuerung mit Pfeiltasten. Automatikschaltung. Schöne Grafik - läuft auch auf schwächeren Rechnern. Die Fahrphysik ist angenehm. OHNE Kontroller oder Lenkrad spielbar. Klare Empfehlung!

PS: Text und Sprache ist in englisch. Läuft auf Windows7 32bit einwandfrei.

Unsinnige negative Bewertungen sollte man verbieten!

Xpand Rally was and still is a pretty good rally game, with graphics that blew us away completely in 2004 and the ability to customize the tracks, you got and still can get some great visuals.

During career mode, the AI pilots will evolve in difficulty as you progress through career mode, so always be well prepared for a tough challenge, the career mode is quite long, I remember that from back in the day, but if you spread over enough sessions, the fun stays at the same level.

pros:
fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on,
cons:
difficult races.
locked races that require too much grinding to unlock.
expensive upgrades and new cars that require alot of grinding.
grindfest. more work than progress.
cars require repair after every race which uses alot of resources to repair.

good game.

The exhilarating feeling this game brings to you, Feel like I'm back in my dads jag flying down South Road at 170 mph ( That was just first gear ). The graphics are some of the most advanced landscape tracking I have ever seen. The developers have completed a splendid job with this weapon of a game.

Simple but polished rally game that holds up surprisingly well even when stretched to 4k.

+ Logical and compelling game prorgession
+ Simple, timeless graphics
+ Surprisingly good controller configuration with dead zone adjustments etc.
+ Runs extremely well* on modern hardware

- Like many rally games, this too eventually becomes repetitive, though the whole thing is over in around 10h, so it does not overstay its welcome by offering too much of brainless activity.
- No licensed cars, so if you care about things like that, this may be a problem. (can be modded though)

Overall, a good rally game that will run gloriously on ANY even remotely modern PC.

*For best result: manually enter your native resolution in VideoSettings.scr and rename steamapps/common/Xpand Rally/data/shaders to something else (there are guides for both online)

It's not as terrible as the score might imply, but it could be so much better. My main complaints are the very unintuitive and ugly UI and the fact that the game is not very friendly towards casual racing game players such as myself. But if you're hardcore into this genre, you'll probably find it more enjoyable than I did - even then, only get it if it's on a sale.

Heel mooie en verslavend goede rally racer uit 2004 ! Het schademodel is echt heel gedetailleerd voor die tijd in 2004, en ook de piloot kan zelfs gewond raken. Het zicht wordt troebel bij een (lichte) hersenschudding, je kan amper nog gas en/of remmen wanneer je benen gewond zijn, net als bij de armen zodat je moeilijker scherpe bochten kan nemen!
De rallywagens zijn niet echt krachtig en zien er wat gewoontjes uit maar dankzij de talrijke upgrades kan je je 80PK stadswagentje om tunen tot een +300PK racemonster !
Dit is echt nog beter dan het toen al erg knappe Rally Championship uit 2002.
Al moet ik wel een negatief punt dat voor velen echt wel doorslaggevend is dat is dat je je controller moeilijk te configureren is en je genoodzaakt bent om met het keyboard te spelen.
Voor een azerty keyb kies je bvb voor het gaspedaal en voor het remmen, en de pijltjes toetsen voor het sturen.

Hopelijk, voor de moderne joystick bezitters werken de controls beter en ook de force feedback die zou moeten werken (op de X360 controller niet)

Ondanks dat éne minpunt kan ik jou deze game warm aanbevelen !

PS: Wil je spelen in 1920x1080 dan kan dit door de settings onder de data folder te veranderen, dat .scr bestandje even renamen in .txt de gewenste resolutie dan weer renamen naar .scr en weg ben je maar hou er wel rekening mee dat de text in de menu wat door elkaar loopt. Ik speel dus gewoon in 1280x768

Alright rally racer for its time. Not sure why you would play this in 2019 tho aside from it being able to run on pretty much any machine now and it being dirt cheap on sale

Old game, BUT...

Still better than most of todays screenshot generators. This game focuses on the core: tweaking, upgrading, driving skills. Although its outdated physics engine, the game delivers a true rally feeling.

I'll admit that rally games are my guilty pleasure. Most feature mushy controls, daft physics or ridiculously undamageable cars. this has none of those. The controls are crisp, the physics moderately good, and cars which will fly apart satisfyingly when you ram into a building or errant rock. The career feature is quite well done, leaving you to decide which cars to buy to win certain races. It does have relatively few maps (4 maybe?), but a lot of variety of tracks round them keep things moderately interesting. Stability-wise, there were very few glitches (I can count them on one hand, after months of play). The car addons actually feel like they're making a difference, and strategic part and tyre-selection can make an impossible stage remarkably enjoyable.

The games's only main downside is the repetitiveness. Only four 'areas', means you get to race the same track over and over in different directions and different combinations of bits. The openness of the career path does also lead to you making bad choices when purchasing cars and add-ons from time to time. That means you must race the same race 10x in a row to get the money to afford the thing you should have bought instead. The only other small downside is the micro-stutter which occurs when a texture or sound is first loaded. That can cause you to spin out, or miss a corner (e.g. when the game first loads the copilot voice for that corner). A quick reload, and it doesn't happen there again. Other than these small niggles, the game is notably bug and hassle-free.

I recommend anyone who likes Rally games to play this.. It's got satisfaction value in spades, and while it's not as polished as Colin Macrae, I think in some areas it beats it (blasphemy!!) :-)
