+ Riesige Item Datenbank
+ Mittlerweile 2 riesige DLCs.
+ Gear ist je nach Zone Farmbar.
Negativ:
- PEER 2 PEER MULTIPLAYER !!! LIEBER LAN PER HAMACHI AUFSETZEN !!!
- Stash keine Suchfunktion
Nachtrag: Größerer Stash/Stashsuche erst ab DLC enthalten.

This game is refreshing and different. Better / funnier build diversity.
I recommend a guide for the playtrough. I've not completed the story once and without the guide I'd probably have no idea what i would be doing.
GrimDawn Wiki is very helpful and the community seems to be super chill.
10/10 would buy again.

Also wirklich Meckern auf hohem Niveau.

Soundtrack is rather mediocre but the voice actors do a solid job here.
A normal playthrough takes about 25-30 hours but theres a lot of replayability and NG+.
For experienced players i definetely recommend activating the veteran mode for the first run.

Joa ... soweit ^^

Grim Dawn gives me everything I want from old-school Diablo, Torchlight, Victor Vran, and most other ARPGs I like, with few of the pain points while adding a pretty cool class and skills system. World theme vaguely reminds me of Victor Vran, sort of a dark fantasy-laden pseudo Victorian era world in decline.
Start by picking a Mastery... basically a character class. I chose Demolitionist because FIRE, EXPLOSIONS, INFERNO, GUNS! And, since I ended up loving two handed rifles, I chose Shaman as my second Master when it was offered to me a few levels later as I could boost my 2H weapon damage (both melee and ranged). Turns out, Demolistionist + Shaman = Elementalist, so I'm out there blowing stuff up and napalming to my heart's content.
You can choose your skills from nicely branching skill trees, and there is a secondary system called Devotions. By using Aether crystals to complete constellations in the night sky you'll get some pretty cool bonuses.
Death penalty is more like Dark Age of Camelot than Everquest (to compare to some other RPGs). You'll lose a percentage of experience, but you don't lose all your gear and gold like in Diablo (I HATED THAT). Like DAoC, if you get back to your grave marker, you'll get most, but not all, of your experience back. Also, bosses will regenerate some if you die while fighting them.
I see there are pets in this game, but I haven't come across any yet. Whether that's because of my choice of masteries or I'm just not high enough yet, I don't know. I tend to progress pretty slowly vs time played because I am a completionist/explorer and have to find every secret and uncover the entire map.
Interface is clear and easy to learn so far. Story is engaging enough to keep me going. I'm planning on picking up the expansions when I can, since they add more masteries and I really want to try out the necromancer.
If you like ARPGs that are not the same old thing, I highly recommend Grim Dawn. Hell of a lot of fun.

Absolutely enormous possibilities for customizing your classes, visually beautiful, and a colossal replayability.
+ Long / Replayable
+ Visually beautiful
+ Various landscapes and bestiary
+ Diablo 2 like atmosphere
+ Double class
+ Story
- A forgettable and almost non-existent soundtrack

Edit : After playing multiple hours and almost completing the game, you realise that there are a lot of sets combinations to try. However individually farming it would take really long time and lonesome. Personally i recommend adding global Auction Houses where people can sell/buy items that they need or don't need. That way the multiplayer aspect of the game is enhanced, and more people would play the game.
Secondly, Group PVP should also be implemented where 2v2 , 3v3 , 4v4 is possible. Players Guild and so on.
Because i believe what makes a game long lasting is the will to play after finishing the game. The game itself is great, but without enhanced multiplayer aspect i believe it will eventually always be low player based games and small niche community only.

-The way these systems play in together is essential and is absolutely a necessity to understand if you dont want to find your self quitting from frustration. Heres where the game stops being simple. The game does a poor job of explaining the intricacies of the systems and even after playing for over 150 hours Im still not 100 on what everything does and how certain things interact.
-Please watch some beginner guides before getting into it to make your experience much more enjoyable, because while it can be confusing, the game is downright fun af to play and will scratch that theorycrafting itch that even the most hardcore arpg nut can sink their teeth into.
-Also contains a very beautiful set of environments and lore that that creators really built up to create a cohesive story.

The *only* exception at this point is the controls, which simply don't make sense. There is capability to remap the default controller and keyboard settings -- not intuitive, IMO -- which I haven't done yet. Might be a non-issue.
That said, if you enjoyed the Diablo and Torchlight series, this scratches that wonderful Action RPG itch!

The game is a bit slow compared to TQ on very fast or even fast, also the movement speed cap in GD is a little to low i feel. The items and numbers in Grim Dawn are too much. I don't want to read 16 stats where 8 of them are more or less useless. This also makes it so if you after many hours of grinding end up with very very good gear you do more than 100k damage per hit. In turn this makes it so monsters need to have multiple millions of health and also gotta hit hard in return to damage the player at all. I feel this forces people into both playing Tanky build to not die, but also high damage builds. But isn't that the point you might ask, yes but it makes only cookie-cutter builds shine, especially on hardcore. Items you can't fit on your screen i feel is the biggest problem the game faces, rest of the game is amazing. Love the devotion, reputation grinding, spell added on items and the story decisions.
Grim Dawn is a more thoughtful and overall better game than its' spiritual predecessor Titan Quest. The mechanics in Grim Dawn are also more solid, improved on the overall combat from Titan Quests rather clunky actions.

The class system of Grim Dawn is achieved after reaching level 2 of your chosen champion. After choosing a class, you level up through killing monsters and doing quests given to you by civilians in towns or caverns. I especially enjoyed the epic sound design of the world, which really kept me interested. Especially the eerie whispering of dying monsters, which felt like they were right behind me, breathing down my neck!
Grim Dawn offers a beautiful world filled with caves, dungeons, cities and even hidden areas on the map filled with loot for you to explore. Finding hidden places in the world was fun and had me exploring every inch of the map for more. Much like Titan Quest, Grim Dawn offers you a second skill tree later in game, which further excites the class you choose to play.
I highly recommend Grim Dawn as an exciting post-apocalyptic game. The game’s aesthetic value lies within the game-play and the dark and gritty details within the world. Explore, kill the undead and the accursed Aetherials and become immersed in the world of Cairn.

Until i got my hands on the add-on's I've been going through the game on single player to get used to the game mechanics, explore and take in the lore without holding my friend back. While not a new game by the time I got it the visuals are still good, runs smoothly and it's VERY easy to lose track of time so that option to toggle the clock on n off certainly helps. The atmosphere is rather......Grim ;) as many locations are very run down or seen better days with the various monsters, demons, bandits and general undead wander around.
It's certainly not a game that you can blindly run off into the wilds in as some enemies ranging from lowly groups to bosses can easily overpower you so death is not a matter of if but when so the advice given to me is to take my time and so I'm getting there slowly and I'm about halfway through the story. There's no shortage of items to pick up during your travels ranging from equipment to crafting components and healing items as not only do you need to balance your health but also your energy *green bar*. Rarity goes from white *pretty much useless*, yellow *magical*, green, blue and purple so it's important to keep an eye on what you have as levelling up will render items useless if your not careful.
For single player I've chosen the demolition class which has been very fun running around firing off fire AoE attacks and related buffs both for myself and allies while my co-op character is a soldier class that I haven't gotten that far with just yet. Enemies will also make use of these classes at times as you'll recognise certain attacks so again tread with caution.
I've certainly gotten hooked into the game so I thank my friend very much for pointing this gem out and hopefully my contribution to the team in co-op is actual contribution. I'd say little gem but I'm still finding interesting nooks and crannies x)

Enter an apocalyptic fantasy world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, iron is valued above gold and trust is hard-earned.
I don't play RPG games a much but this one was really good. I tried Grim Dawn in 2019 during a free weekend. I decided to try it because I want to see how a game like this will playable on my gamepad. It's quite a funny story. I like RTS games, but when I go play RPG from top-down view with a mouse I don't like it. Every time it looks for me like clickfest. That's why I don't play games like this. So I tried to play it on the gamepad and it was much better. I enjoyed it. By the way, I don't know why I didn't write a review early :).
The story was fine. The game has a big map for exploring and hidden places where you can find epic items and weapons. What I like in that game is, you can have close combat weapons like sword or axe and shooting weapons too, a.k a. dual-class. Your character can be for example classic old school fighter with swords or wizard or you can combine classes with each other and make perfect hero for you. Everyone will find his favourite playstyle here.
The game has a good design, graphic is decent and enemy creatures are dangerous. You can find good old zombies, spiders, big mosquitos, ghouls, and many more. Some are strong some are weak, you know classic game :). Of course, boss fights are here too.
The game offers many hours of gameplay. The main story will take some time to finish and after that, you can complete all quests or try to find all hidden places. If you want a really hard challenge try to complete all achievements. The game can be played in singleplayer, coop or PVP fights.
If you are a fan of fantasy worlds and RPGs games this is must-have for you. For those who want to try something new as I wanted, it's a very good game too. So I recommend Grim Dawn to you. Go for it you will like it!

So while you're getting a good helping of plot, you battle enemies. Standard stuff you may think. Least I did at first, grew up on D2 LOD and dabbled in Torchlight 2, so it seemed straightforward. But then, then you go to pick your class (which starts at level 5, not straight away - the people know thing or two about easing you into the gameplay) and you have several different classes to pick from, and if you got the DLC, you get a second class to choose from starting at level 10, to make a third class. Then it hits you, oh man, it isn't going to be as simple as click-until-it-dies. No, no you have to think about how you want to flavor click-until-it-dies.
Now as you're pondering these choices, you see these levels and all this loot dropping, cause you figure the game is really generous and this seems to be pretty rich and wonderfully done level design for a rogue-like, but it isn't a roguelike. No, people took time and effort to design the levels, from the look to how you the player should experience it. And goddamn did they hit it out of the park! Not only did the good people doing god's work at Crate Entertainment know a thing or two about level design, but they knew how you were probably feeling as you're progressing. Usually you get tossed into the deep end, a whole bunch of crap thrown at you at once, but then the level opens up, breathes a little, before you wade into the next bunch of hell. And oh man, hell is where we are.
From the journal snippets, to letters, to orders, you get a sense of what this world was like when hell-broke-loose. You get a sense and it logically makes sense, how people reacted to seeing their world fall apart. And you think, oh man this is great, but I guess I can skip it. And sure, you can, but one of the things that's helpful is that when you ever wonder about what should be motivating you as you move along in this world, what keeps your character wanting to wade into the mess again, these letters, journals, detailing how everyday people, how their world has been interrupted by a bunch of jackoffs who's only reason, it seems, to invade in the first place is that they were bored of their realm of existence and have no qualms ripping humanity a new one. But not today!
So, as you progress, adding spells and skills to fireoff in a middle of a fight, navigating twisting, richly textured environments that pay you big time for exploring, the loot, the loot! The loot becomes an element of a fight, so much drops that you have to pick it up just so you can see some more baddies to fight. And oh man, the diversity and the richness of the enemies, my god, there has to be like 80 - 100 different enemies! No recycling of behaviours, with different factions having different units that have unique styles that you have to learn and adapt to. And each fight takes on its own tempo, some you can breeze, others become a frantic, to the knife's edge. Each fight progresses and builds, so by the time you are coming to the end, the fights are bigger, more intense, and everything, everything you have been learning, adapting is building up to these end fights.
And then it hits you. This has been well-designed. This game was made with care, attention, with detail, with love. The game designers and everyone at Crate Entertainment loved what they were making and keep adding to. And they understand what they made. These people are magnificent.
Do yourself a favor, if you like ARPGs or hell, just want a good, rich game with intricate gameplay and a good story, this is it. Buy it, play it, love it.

It is way better than Diablo 3 and it doesnt get boring like Diablo 3 does.
I like the skill sytem. It gives so much customization potential.
Monsters, even on Normal can be very challenging.
I like the combat as well. It feels really fluent.
Graphics look for a game like this age really good.
I can reccomd this game to ervyone who liked Torchlight or Diablo 2
Summary
Gameplay 9 – If it wasn’t for the minor multiplayer issues, it would have gotten a 10 because of the sheer content and replay value. Their past experience with Titan quest has honestly thought them well
Graphics 7 – it’s honestly impressive what they did with such an old engine and it speaks volume of the devs capabilities making full use of the engine. Despite the occasional dark areas.
Story 7 – I love every side story despite the rather generic main story. The destroyed world of Cairn was such a blast to explore with so many tragic stories of survival and madness. The lore is honestly amazing and the writing team deserves recognition for their hard work in making a well lived in world.
Sound 6 – It’s okay and mostly gets the job done but it is an improvement from Titan Quest atrocious voice acting. There are some wonderful scores and great amount of sound effects for enemies. Is rather astounding actually how much effort was given to differentiate the enemies
The Review (Yes this is quite a mouthful)
Crate Entertainment which is made up from the former devs of Iron Lore that made the fun Titan Quest, has done a stellar job with Grim Dawn. It scratches all the itch that Diablo 3 and Titan Quest fail to deliver while also doing its own thing. Despite strong influence from those series, Grim Dawn has a very strong personality of its own. Crate entertainment has took all the lessons from Titan Quest and made a confidently excellent ARPG in its own right with some excellent world building and improve gameplay systems.
Grim Dawn lovecraftian influence story differs itself from most ARPG’s by starting with the apocalypse already in full swing, while you are there trying to piece it together, watching the devastation that has already took place. Imagine if Diablo had won and you are left trying to repair it as best as you can. That is essentially where Grim Dawn starts. A cataclysmic event occurs in Cairn bringing the end of days to the human race due to supernatural beings known as Aetharials using humans as resources while they battle with another supernatural faction known as the Cult of Ch’thon. This put what remains of the humans in a tight situation for survival as they are caught between these two supernatural factions and also the worst of humanity scavenging the area.
Honestly the main story is overall pretty generic and stereotypical of most ARPGs as you single handily combat everything to stop the menace that is already making a bad day for the people of Cairn seem like a sunny disposition. How it differs is using all the side content such as notes, npcs and clever use of level design to tell a well lived in world with so many stories that are littered in this apocalyptic wasteland. Exploration is given so much depth that I lost myself in exploring almost every inch of this world. Discovering the many horror survival stories about how Burnwitch village citizens ran to Devil Crossing, a prison to escape the Aetharial carnage or about a greedy robber who met his demise at the hands of trolls. The well written stories and npc’s help elevate the simplicity of this ARPG to great heights. If there is a downside to the story, is Grim Dawn really wants you to work for it to explore every inch and talk to as many npcs although I don’t consider that as a downside.
What I am truly impressed is taking the simple core mechanics of ARPG’s and improvising on the old hack and slash formula. The base game itself has 6 different classes with the generic melee and range builds like a soldier or a shaman with the return of Titan quest mix and match class system which adds a lot of replay value. I decided to go with a Nightblade, an assassin like character and had a blast playing it as I combine it with an occultist class. At times it feels like I am playing a twin stick shooter. Dodging out of harms way while teleporting right back in to make the final blow with my hellhound and crow giving me defensive back up. Every encounter was relentless and blast to play with tons of variety. Unlike Titan Quest with its uneven pacing of its horde and difficulty, Grim Dawn enemies are well done. Their lovecraftian horror design and exciting boss encounters are just a blast to combat and they will come for you relentlessly with fireballs, claws, fang, decayed flesh, and tentacles.
Stats and leveling up is also well done although I admit it can become overwhelming at times managing every equipment and skills to make your ideal hero. There is so much augmentation items to boost your skills that I can get lost in just managing that at times. However there is a excellent devotion system that boost up certain stats and further augment your skill set. Like empowering my pneumatic burst abilities, a sort of auto heal with a turtle shell like armor. It’s a wide devotion skill tree leaving you with plenty of experimentation. There are also some pretty interesting decision to make in quests or factions to join which differs from most ARPG’s which is killing everything in sight. Although you still do that a lot, killing more enemies of a particular faction will raise its notoriety. The more notoriety, the more enemies and bosses are thrown in. Reaching to a higher notoriety will also make your enemy factions release a nemesis to hunt you down giving you the opportunity to get more experience and better loot. While having a good standing with a faction gives you discount and unlock more side quest through doing bounties or killing a certain enemy type. All this gives more depth to the game.
Grim Dawn uses the Titan Quest graphic engine and honestly pushes it to limit. Despite being a budget title, this game brims with quality as you can see so much detail in areas like the huge mausoleums of Necropolis or the swampy village of Burnwitch. Despite its grim setting, the graphics is gorgeous to look at with all the colours popping as you execute cool moves and seeing how well design the enemies are. From the Ch’thon creatures giant maws with its disgusting two leg designs or the Aetherials glowing green monstrosities that raises the decaying dead or feathered deformed harpies of the former citizens of old Arkovia to name a few. It’s a beauty to see that carnage flow so well. Sound design is overall decent and there is more variety compared to Titan Quest but thank goodness they have improve on the voicework somewhat. Although you do hear the same music and voices after a while despite the plethora of enemies sound effects. There is a so many sound effects given to the enemies to differentiate each other which is honestly quite amazing.
If there is a downside to Grim Dawn, some areas are way too dark and I have no idea what I am hitting and sometimes it gets so ridiculously frantic with the amount of enemies just occupying the screen space. It’s also pretty weird on the multiplayer front that you are unable to play with players who don’t have the dlc’s. On the loot front, there is still so much crap to sort through but thank goodness Crate Entertainment has created a very responsive UI in managing everything such as being able to mark out which equipment you need.
I still have yet to talk about the hidden dungeons but alas I must end it here. Crate Entertainment has really outdone themselves with what I think is their debut title. Yes it also feels like budget title with its animated cut scenes but the sheer amount of quality content more than makes up for some of its shortcomings which are honestly few and far between. I honestly love what Crate Entertainment has made, bringing all those fond memories of Diablo 2 while also adding its own intriguing take with the many stories hidden in the world of Cairn and some of the most satisfying ARPG experience to date. I can’t wait to replay this and right there is a sign of a good game.

It has that old school Diablo 2 and Dungeon Siege vibe,
As Dungeon Siege multiplayer isn't working anymore or you'd have to do it trough some weird tricks, I'd recommend buying this game.
(Only downside, the netcode isn't the best so sometimes you can't pick up loot, or if your mate drops it it's there for him and not for you)
Lots of customization on classes / masteries.

The dual-class system and the thorough itemization allow for a vast build variety. The handcrafted maps are full of secrets locations and bosses. The faction and reputation mechanics give you even more goals to work toward. It is offline, play at your own pace. And there is no punishment for experimentation, one can respec skill points easily (I’m looking at you, PoE).
After all these years, still drawing breath, I see.
Thank you Crate for everything!

Still the better ARPG available at the moment.
A lot deeper than Diablo 3
More relaxing than PoE, with a better community.
The gameplay itself is really fun, you will be able to try tons of different build!
Enjoy it!

The best ARPG out there, in my opinion, obviously. The 2 mastery system afford near countless unique builds. The very same classes could be played in vastly different ways. The 2 Expansion DLCs are a must as far as i'm concerned since it adds hundreds of items, new areas and stories, 3 new classes, and a type of gauntlet for grinding gear.

Drop in/out co-op, multiple game modes and a challenging end game as well. The fact that this game has modding capabilities as well is just a big bonus
Builds can be very versatile, depending on gear, classes, skill trees, relics and devotion points.

i enjoy the 2 class system which allows a good level of customization, there are 8 base classes and depending on the 2 you select you define your final class, you combine 2 classes to form a new one, for example if you decide to play as inquisitor and for the second you take a demolitionist your class is purifier.
The campaign is big the story is good, the loot and skills active and passive are extensive.
One thing i appreciate a lot is that you can play pier to pier, one person creates a game session and someone else can join to play together and or trade items.
The game does support mods but the you have to create a separate character to play the mod versions, i think that is a good idea to keep the mod version separate from the main version of the game it helps to avoid playing with someone ho has over power cheated items.
I would of liked if the game had quest direction arrows , but its not really necessary the world is big with multiple dungeons and hidden areas , but it is linear you will find without two much difficulty the quest you are looking for.
I would of also liked a better physics engine wen it comes to combat, at the moment wen a creature dies there is rag doll physics witch i dont really like.
Also im not the biggest fan of having 10 different resistances to try and mid max at all time, even do its relatively easy to do so thanks in a big part to the well design crafting system witch can really help maxing out resistances .
The game is well optimised and runs well, i experienced 2 game crash in over 100 hours.
If you miss old school isometric rpg , this is the game for you.

I am a roguelite fan at heart, a cousin of the ARPG genre. This game somehow manages to be fun to replay despite the maps themselves being mostly the same every run. (There are little bits that change, and of course the loot is mostly randomized.)
The scope of the game is just so huge, with so many optional dungeons and areas that you can feel like you're just roaming a randomized open world if you want to zone out and explore.
It has a really impressive amount of choice & consequences for an ARPG. You will often be presented with a choice between two people, two or more factions, two outcomes to a situation. There is a level of choice on a narrative level that I don't expect from an ARPG, and it weaves into the mechanics too. Choose one faction if you prefer lightning or physical damage, choose the other faction if you prefer cold damage or minions. (There are a TON of damage types and it's always fun figuring out what types of damage your character will do.) OK, choice made, now you'll run across squads of the opposing faction out in the open world that you'll have to mow down, replete with randomized heroes and other cool stuff. You'll have a unique friendly base to access with unique quests. You'll have unique vendors whose wares you gradually unlock by gaining faction reputation. And next run, you can choose the other faction instead! Tons of choices like this.
The downsides are easy to ignore. Sometimes I wish it were a little more fluid, as it's a bit clunky (think D3's Demon Hunter dropping caltrops and doing backflips). It can be prone to crashes in multiplayer, with 2 or so per 12-hour session. Jeez I sound a little addicted huh. It can be hard to tell what bonuses monsters have and what damage types they attack with. Usually you can guess by the colour and theme of their attacks (green is acid/poison, blue is aether, pink is chaos, etc.), but good luck guessing their resistances or other modifiers.
Overall, one of the most addictive ARPGs I've ever played and probably more fun to me than Path of Exile. I wish I'd found it sooner.

This game is fun, is fast, is pleasing to look at, has replayability like few there (800h for ma and that's not much to many 1-2k over people). Does it have flaws - ye, 100%. Like many good games here. Does it break the game or prevent from enjoying the game - absolutely no.
Story is good, side plots are interesting, end game content enjoyable, community leagues tricky.
I held in high esteem Crate for not being greedy nor taking some giants money and sell themselves to like sega, etc.
Very reliable developer with top notch products to come.
Do enjoy Your Grim Dawn ????

I have just over 5000 hours in here. Mods really take the game further adding dozens of classes and the combinations feel endless. I went into writing tooling to help the process of designing characters on grimtools.com easier.
I can not recommend this game enough, wonderful dark story that allows you to dive in more as you want or can put off while you hack and slash through everything.

goodness.
Whats wrong with me?
If you are a fan of ARPGs and you don't have this game and you have been a bit on the fence about it just get it already. You wont regret it.
In fact get the game and its expansions. All at once. Every expansion is worth it.
The only complaint is that online MP can be a bit iffy at times but its generally fine and the game is just as enjoyable solo.
Also its usually better to disable cloud saving and just manage your savegame backups some other way.
There are some very useful tools out there that will not function properly with cloud saves enabled and can even cause progress loss if used in conjunction with cloud saving.
Other than that get in there and enjoy the innumerable ways you can build a character to take on everything from the weakest undead to the most seemingly insurmountable superboss.

Fantastic value that it isn't subject to internet nonsense or foreign server problems. No other ARPG that I have seen has full 360 rotation and still plays so smoothly. The controller implementation is fantastic for those who have issues with RSI or just those who prefer to relax after working all day with a kb+m.
If you haven't given this a run yet well you really should!

If you're into the genre you should definitely play this. The gameplay is really fun, the variety of builds and replayability in general are awesome, and the style of post-apocalyptic fantasy is very cool and unique. Also, for me personally the fact that this game is not tied to being played online made it even better, as I don't really like the tendency of hack-and-slash RPGs becomming more and more MMO-like these days. This being said, Grim Dawn is good in both singleplayer and multiplayer.
10/10, was glad to support the developers by buying this game and can definitely recommend it.
