Ich habe noch keinen Content davon gesehen (abgesehen von einem Paladin mit der neuen Klasse Eidbewahrer) ABER ich bewerte aus einem anderen Grund schlecht:

Hatte man vorher z. B. nur Ashes of Malmouth und Crucible konnte man auch mit jemand zusammen spielen der Crucible nicht hatte.

Kauft man jetzt Forgotten Gods und spielt mit einem Charakter aus Ashes of Malmouth wird dieser scheinbar in einen Charakter von Forgotten Gods umgewandelt. Somit ist es NICHT möglich mit jemand zusammenzuspielen der Forgotten Gods nicht hat! Schaltet man bei Steam das DLC ab so sind beim nächsten Spielstart alle Charakter die man in Forgotten Gods gespielt hat "unsichtbar" und stehen nicht zur Auswahl ! Aktiviert man Forgotten Gods wieder (wobei hier wieder ein Download von ~3GB fällig wird) sind die Charakter wieder da.

Somit zwingt man andere sich Forgotten Gods zu kaufen oder auf seinen alten Charakter zu verzichten !

Bin beim ersten Durchspielen an Ramzul (Boss aus Akt.7) geraten. Danach habe ich dem Spiel den Stecker gezogen. Mein Eindruck nach einem Monat im Game (Insgesamt 4 Chars etwa bis Lvl 70 gespielt) :

- Loot unausgewogen und passt so gut wie nie zum Char den man grad spielt
- zu viel Nebel: Ich kaufen keine High End Grafikkarte, um dann permanent eingenebelt zu werden (idiotisch) (grimCam funktioniert bei mir nicht)
- Bosse total unausgewogen speziell wenn man einfach nur auf normalem Schwierigkeitsgrad durchspielen will (siehe Ramzul, für mich mit meinem Gear nicht machbar, aber questmäßig ein Showstopper, da ich ihn töten muß)
- Crucible und Eldritch Rifts sind meiner Meinung nach nur im Spiel um die oben erwähnte Lootschwäche auszugleichen. Ich laufe lieber im Spiel rum und erfülle storymäßig passende Quests anstatt in der immer gleichen Umgebung ala Tower Defence Games am Fließband Gegner zu grillen.
- Die Grafik selbst ist klasse (bis auf den häufigen Nebel, Wettereffekte abstellen bringt nix) und prinzipiell wäre das Spiel genau mein Ding, aber ich ich hab zum Rumprobieren und Dauergrinden einfach zu wenig Zeit. (Beruf geht vor)

Wer Bock auf ausuferndes Grinden mit teilweise extrem unfairem Schwierigkeitsgrad hat und viiiiieeeeellll Zeit hat sein Gear entsprechend zusammenzufarmen und zu optimieren, der ist hier genau richtig. Ich muss da leider passen. Schade eigentlich.

Ein Hinweis vorneweg: Zum Spielen dieses Addons braucht ihr auch "Ashes of Malmouth"!

Mit "Forgotten Gods" gibt es zwar nur einen neuen Akt (AoM hatte zwei), aber der hat mir echt gut gefallen. Endlich mal keine weiteren Sumpfgebiete, stattdessen Wüsten, Tempel, heulende Höhlen oder Lava überströmte Gegenden. Okay, Wüsten sind zwar nichts Neues, aber in "Forgotten Gods" finde ich sie auf jeden Fall schöner und abwechslungsreicher gestaltet als z.B. in Titan Quest. Schön ist, dass man dieses Addon gleich nach Ende des 1. Akts beginnen kann.

Gut finde ich auch die neue Klasse, die einige sehr coole Skills auf Lager hat (Spin2Win sag ich nur :D).

Brandneu sind auch die Runen, die sprichwörtlich mehr Bewegung ins Spiel bringen. Mithilfe dieser Runen kann man z.B. springen oder sich teleportieren. Also das ist schon eine tolle Neuerung.

Bisher hatte Grim Dawn ja nur Roguelike-Dungeons mit einigen Ebenen. Mit diesem Addon gibt es nun endlich ein Endlos-Dungeon, das auch wirklich endlos geht.

Mit dem Transmutations-Feature, kann man nun beim Erfinder doppelte Set-Items in ein anderes Item desselben oder eines anderen Sets umwandeln.

So, nun einige Punkte, die mir nicht so gut gefallen haben:

Leider wurde die bisherige Levelgrenze von 100 nicht weiter angehoben. Auch die maximale Anzahl der Devotionspunkte ist immer noch 55, obwohl einige neue Schreine und Sternbilder hinzugekommen sind. Ein bisschen schade finde ich auch die kurze Spielzeit. Mir hat es zwar echt viel Spaß gemacht, aber ich hätte mir doch noch etwas mehr Umfang gewünscht.

Insgesamt also ein verhältnismäßig kurzes, aber doch sehr schönes Addon.

Eine Anmerkung vorweg: Die Erweiterung benötigt neben dem Basisspiel auch den DLC "Ashes of Malmouth"!

"Grim Dawn-Forgotten Gods" ist nach "Ashes of Malmouth" die zweite (und leider wohl auch die letzte) große Erweiterung des Action-RPGs Grim Dawn. Zum voraussichtlichen Abschluss von Grim Dawn hat Crate Entertainment jedoch noch einmal ein prall gefülltes Paket geschnürt, welches Ashes of Malmouth in nichts nachsteht.

Während bei Ashes of Malmouth noch die Hintergründe der Invasion der Ätherischen beleuchtet wurden, entfernt sich Forgotten Gods ein wenig von der Hauptstory. Vielmehr werden alte Geheimnisse der Welt Cairn gelüftet und zahlreiche im Hauptspiel begonnene Nebengeschichten fortgeführt. Die drei Hexengötter (Dreeg, Solael, Bysmiel) spielen dabei wohl eine nicht unwichtige Rolle, mehr Informationen zur Story gibt es von mir allerdings nicht ;)
Es gibt auch in dieser Erweiterung wieder eine neue Klasse, den "Oathkeeper". Dieser heilige Krieger ist auf Feuer- und physischen Schaden spezialisiert sowie auf den Einsatz eines Schildes, inklusive dem Werfen des Schildes auf die bemitleidenswerten Gegner. Aufgrund des dualen Klassensystems erhöht sich die Anzahl der möglichen Klassenkombinationen von 27 auf 36, sodass für ausreichend neue Tüftelmöglichkeiten gesorgt sein sollte.
Zudem gibt es den Shattered Realm, einen neuen Spielmodus, welcher im Endeffekt ein unendlicher Dungeon ist. Hier geht es darum, soviele Ebenen wie möglich zu überleben, aufgelockert durch Bossgegner, und das möglichst schnell, um noch bessere Belohnungen zu erhalten. Das alles ähnelt den aus Diablo 3 bekannten Greater Rifts doch frappierend, allerdings war ein solcher Modus wohl ein Herzenswunsch der Community, weshalb Crate Entertainment diesen jetzt auch in Grim Dawn implementiert hat.
Auch ein weiterer Communitywunsch wird erfüllt: Es gibt nun die Möglichkeit, Duplikate zu einem zufälligen anderen Item desselben Sets auszuwürfeln, was es einfacher machen sollte, legendäre Sets zu vervollständigen. Das ist tatsächlich nicht unwichtig, ich habe beispielsweise bislang kein einziges hochklassiges legendäres Set komplett, trotz meiner mittlerweile über 300h Spielzeit.
Natürlich gibt es zahllose neue Items, neue Sets, neue Sternbilder im Devotion-System, neue Superbosse, neue Secrets, neue Fraktionen inkl. fraktionsspezifischer Items, wie man es von einer Erweiterung eben erwartet. Zudem gibt es die neu eingeführten Runen: Diese schalten verschiedene Bewegungs-Skills frei und erhöhen so, geschickten Einsatz vorausgesetzt, die Mobilität und den "Flow" dramatisch.
Untypisch für eine Erweiterung eines ARPG: Es wird keine Anhebung des Maximallevels geben. Die Entwickler begründen das damit, dass unterschiedliche Builds derselben Klassenkombination nur möglich sind, wenn nicht jeder Skill voll ausgebaut werden kann, wofür die maximal verfügbaren Fähigkeitspunkte limitiert werden müssen. Daher bleibt das Maximallevel bei 100, was mir auch ganz recht ist, Stufe 100 ist doch ein schöner Abschluss für einen Char und sieht besser aus als Stufe 105 oder so etwas ;)
Die Erweiterung ist, wie schon das Basisspiel, auf Deutsch verfügbar. Die Übersetzung ist jedoch eine Community-Übersetzung, welche allerdings von hervorragender Qualität ist. Bei einem Patch oder Hotfix kann es aber einige Tage dauern, bis die neue Version der Community-Übersetzung verfügbar ist.

Alles in allem kann ich Forgotten Gods jedem Grim Dawn-Fan nur ans Herz legen. Das Spiel wird vor allem durch die Möglichkeit des Neuauswürfelns von Items, den neuen Endlosmodus "Shattered Realm" und den schon in einem vorherigen Patch hinzugefügten Itemfilter zu einem wirklich rundem ARPG, welches sich nicht hinter Branchengrößen wie Diablo 3 oder Path of Exile verstecken muss.

Hab ich mich auf das Addon gefreut und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Es bietet genau das was ich will und erwartet hatte. die Rifts sind eine tolle Abwechslung zur Arena. Freue mich sehr auf die kommenden Stunden die ich haben werde.

you will get through it pretty quick if u already have a build by the end of the main story or ashes of malmouth, but its still really good, has lots of cool areas and of course lots of new loot. The new necromancer class is also very good. Overall good expansion, you will get your moneys worth out of it, and much more if u decide to beat it on ultimate

Slightly weaker addon than Ashes of Malmouth. It adds less new features but increases the content of the features added with Malmouth.

However together the three units (Base Game, Malmouth and Forgotten Gods) are more than the sum of its parts. The game really comes together with this addon. Not necessarily story wise - the story of Forgotten Gods is really disconnected to everything else - but game mechanic wise.

If you played Grim Dawn and Ashes of Malmouth excessively and think to yourself: well nice game but somehow somethings missing - that's the Forgotten Gods addon.

DLC verdict: Get it OR Get it in the Definitive Edition bundle

Comment:
A completely different side area with it's own map. And I love it! We finally step into light of the desert and, unlike the Ashes of Malmouth DLC, this one has a charm about it that makes replaying it fun. The layouts are linear with optional side areas and secrets. The lore behind this DLC is super interesting and focuses on a parts that were only hinted at in the main campaign. It also delves into a faction choice you made previously which I find very cool. You get one new class - the Oathbreaker. You know, to fulfill those Captain America shield throwing fantasies. This class fits SO well with the others and most of my builds use it. More quality of life stuff is added including the ability to buy items to unlock Elite or Ultimate on new characters! For the endgame we get the Shattered Realms quest. It is basically maps which you run continually and they help with leveling up, grinding for loot or just that zoom zoom power fantasy. Unlike the Crucible DLC this has a more natural flow with being able to move around more. Definitely a must have for all of the things listed above. The best DLC that Grim Dawn has available!

What's not to like about a full blown story expansion to Grim Dawn. None of that always online garbage. None of that in app purchase skins and shit either. You want to play online with friends go ahead with Multiplayer. But if you want to play offline all by your lonesome the classic way you got that too.
I am an older video game enthusiast. I have played thousands of hours of Diablo 2 solo so when a game preserves that single player approach to ARPGS i cannot help but praise the devs for that.
Seriously the only aspect of Grim Dawn i don't like is the many elemental / physical resistances and resistance retaliation stuff. ITS A LITTLE TOO MUCH AND I FEEL THAT PART COULD HAVE BEEN STREAMLINED A LITTLE BIT.
I hate POE and I despise being a HUMAN CALCULATOR fiddling with my builds and reading around web pages instead of enjoying the game.
Sure you can have enough depth without all of those elements to keep track of. Later in the game it becomes a chore to keep track of all those resistances, resistance reduction, resistance relation whatever. I lose interest with all that jargon on my screen when all i want to do is slay monsters and grab better loot.

Perhaps a patch could introduce even more depth to the Roguelike Dungeon with newer areas, more ENEMIES, more NEW LOOT AND STUFF...
One can always hope right :D

If you got here and you're wondering if you should get this DLC, you should. The quality of life upgrades alone make it worth it, but then there's a bunch of other great things. The Shattered Realm is addictive and REALLY pays off in loot, the Oathkeeper is a fun mastery (and easy for newcomers) and the new devotions are strong. The story ties up some loose ends from the base game in a pretty cool way. The maps feel a bit generic compared to the previous DLC at first, but they get much more interesting as you reach the end.

Decent game but forgotten gods is a very mediocre expansion compared with the base game and malmouth which are both several degrees of magnitude superior to this. The shattered realm is the most buggy thing possible in this game.

5/10 not enough for a recommendation.

If you liked the base game or Ashes of Malmouth, you'll like this too. Cooler enemies, even more interesting biomes to slay monsters through. I liked the music from FG zones the best.

Enemy animations are really well done. And they managed to make a desert not bore me to tears for once.

Buying this expansion will make you unable to play THE BASE GAME with anyone who doesn't have the expansions.

I was playing this game with a friend, then saw that there was a sale and bought the DLC. After doing so, I found that my friends who only had the base game could NOT join my game anymore and instead got the error message below.

If you buy this DLC, your game will become impossible to join for anyone who doesn't have it. You won't even be able to play the base game together anymore.

Vermintide 2 deals with this problem by simply letting people who join the host's game play the DLC with the host. Grim Dawn isn't so pro-consumer.

There is a workaround. Just uninstall the DLC. Then you are no better off than you were before you bought it but the devs have your money.

Another awesome DLC for Grim Dawn!
Adds new class, new locations, new fractions, the soulshard demension (a 75 lvl dungeon for grind and leveling), new bosses, etc etc
What can I say, I like Grim Dawn a lot. The multiplayer is great, and this series is the gift that keeps on giving.

This DLC doesn't really continue the original story like Malmouth does, however the new self contained story it adds is just as if not more compelling. It adds a sense of finality to your character's journey and provides a new area to explore with a much brighter and more colorful (but just as bleak) aesthetic than the base game. The new class and items do a lot to expand build possibilities, though not quite as much as Malmouth did but that's fine since it's slightly cheaper and they work well together anyway. This DLC makes no negative changes so there's no real downside to getting it. Recommended if you like the base game and want something a little different that feels more grand.

Meh. It got boring pretty fast, expected more. I didn't care for any of the characters nor the story. The enemies and dungeons were too generic and not as inventive. This expansion doesn't have that gritty, grim dark, Lovecraftian atmosphere from the base game and Ashes of Malmouth. It's too colorful and high fantasy. It's almost like going back to Titan Quest. Nothing wrong with that title, I just don't think it fits Grim Dawn. But that's just me.

If you happen to go across this review and ask yourself is it worth it.

I'm not gonna do some convincing speech and all.

All I have to say is if you get this DLC, this is basically Grim dawn on steroids.

The bad: Buying this overrides your big tiddy goth GF loading screens from Ashes of Malmouth.

The good: The new guy that replaced her is ripped.
You can burn the god of the sun with fire.
Story is fine but more content and great new gear and a class.

Pretty good all around.

Both of the expansions are must haves for this game. Forgotten gods feels fresh and new compared to the original campaign in grim dawn. The textures look great, and the boss battles are more involved. An absolute must get if you like Grim Dawn.

Great expansion to a nearly perfect game. You can get lost for hours and hours theorycrafting new builds, talents, devotion points, etc. It's so fun to experiment in this game. And they really nailed the atmosphere. The new zones and hidden areas are a blast to play through. I can't thank the devs enough for creating such a great game, and for continuing to add more expansions to it. Let's hope they continue to release content for this game in the future.

I liked this expansion more than AoM (Ashes of Malmouth) one, mainly because areas felt more open and last boss was very satisfying to beat up.

Brilliant world design! Sooo smooth and joyful to play. Like a therapy after you finally escape Malmouth city, annoyed, sweating in claustrophobia and here comes relief with Forgotten Gods.
I literally like everything about the new expansion so far. Have not tried the new arena, though.

if already got the other dlcs or you love the game just get it, so worth the price. really this is just a review to say after playing the game from its official launch date from early access to this expansion, its come along way and i love how devoted they have been to their fans on like blizzard lol

I really liked this DLC it added another full chapter to the game. I read some reviews about this DLC which before playing it made me think I was only in for a few extra hours of gameplay. But believe me that isn't the case, there is a lot more gameplay to it than that and there are some extra quests added to this one DLC as well. I really enjoyed this not so little DLC and would recommend it to any one who loves the initial game ITS A BLAST

Forgotten Gods improves the gameplay in a lot of new aspects. New Devotions and an additional mastery class (Oathkeeper) allow for a variety of new theorycrafted builds. The new runes add mobility spells which make the combat feel much smoother as you’ll be able to clear packs faster and progress quicker as well. Because Grim Dawn’s combat system always tries to overwhelm the player with enemies, mobility skills come in handy at all times. Shattered realms are infinite dungeons which scale with depth (the more you play, harder they become) and while you go deeper and deeper into the shattered realms you’ll have less time to clear them. Lastly, new sand based environments and enemies are just icing on the cake.

There are plenty of new QoL features: you can now transfer money from one character to another, transmute one set piece into another set piece and there’s a lootfilter which you can configure in the bottom left corner of your screen. The lootfilter will allow you to hide items that you don’t want (for example white gear) which will remove clutter on your screen and make looting a lot less tedious.

Like with the base Grim Dawn game and Ashes of Malmouth Expansion, Forgotten Gods features a phenomenal soundtrack with a very catchy main theme and a great track during the last boss fight. The graphics are still the same as there aren’t many ways to improve them due to Grim Dawn running on a Titan Quest engine, though after you’ve played for a bit you might actually love the graphics as they remind of Diablo 2 a lot!

Additionally, if you like reading lore in forms of notes and diary entries there’s plenty of things to discover from the Forgotten Gods expansion. And picking different witch factions makes a difference in terms of special quests and dialogue options.

Grim Dawn by @Crate-Entertainment has always been in my top-3 list of my most favorite genre, along with Diablo and Path of Exile; the Forgotten Gods expansion solidifies its place up there, bringing my total “gametime played” close to 300 hours. New chapter and factions based on a desert theme, a new realm/rift system, enhancements and additions in already existing mechanisms (constellations, runes, items) and of course a new class, the Oathkeeper, bringing the rare ability to dual wield shields. I loved Grim Dawn and the Ashes of Malmouth DLC; however this one is just nowhere near as good. It's fine, but not good, and definitely not up to the level of greatness Grim Dawn and AoM achieve. One of my favorite things to do is collect the lore notes and read up on what happened, and they were a definite let down in FG. It's fine but I'd only get it on sale or if you're a solid Grim Dawn fan.

Story and the expansion content is a bit shorter, than Ashes (I spent about 10 hours on Elite). Also adds:
- possibility to go to elite or ultimate straight away
- Shattered realm runs (like Diablo 3 rifts)
- Lot new items and recipes
- Oathkeeper class, which is quite fun (looks to me like a fiery paladin)

Does not raise the Devotion level or level cap, which is a bit sad.

Also fulfils the aRPG obligation to have a desert-themed act.

After Playing through the Campaign with one of my old characters and a new Oathkeeper I think I'm ready for a review:

- Campaign: Forgotten Gods is not a continuation of the main storyline but rather a spinoff that focusess on the conflict between Kymon's Chosen and the Order of Death's Vigil with a pinch of eldritch gods. The narrative presentation is rather low budget but on the same level as the basegame and Ashes of Malmouth. If you're looking for well developed characters and likeable NPCs you probably won't find any. However, if you like reading lore in forms of notes and diary entries there's plenty of things to discover. While picking different witch factions does make a difference in terms of exclusive quests and dialogue options I wished there had been some conflict in between the different cults, similar to the Kymon's Chosen vs Death's Vigil situation in the base game. Make sure to play Forgotten Gods after AoM unless you want to deal with a serious case of ludonarative dissonance.

- Presentation: The soundtrack is phenomenal as always with a very catchy main theme and an awesome track during the last bossfight. As far as the graphics are concerned there are some improvements in terms of creature and character design. However, compared to the detailed maps AoM had to offer Forgotten Gods falls realtively flat. We've had plenty of dry desert areas and Korvan Architecture in the basegame so in this regard the new expansion offers more of the same. The Eldritch realm however is a truly fantastic tileset that makes me hope for a future expansion set in the Eldritch realm. If you're mainly buying the DLC for sightseeing purposes you might be dissapointed.

- Gameplay: Forgotten Gods improves the Gameplay in pretty much every aspect. New Devotions and an additional mastery allow for a variety of new builds. Thanks to a new rune system every character can now equip mobility spells, making combat feel a lot more exciting. Grim Dawn's combat is mostly centered arround two things. Don't get cornered and learn to disengage early enough so that your health replenishes and you're ready to get into the fight once more. Mobility spells greatly improve these mechanics and contribute significantly to the fluidity of combat overall.

- The Oathkeeper: What shall I say, "spin to win" whirlwind builds and retaliation tanks seem to be what most people will use the Oathkeeper for. Personally, I picked Oathkeeper in combination with Demolitionist, maxing firedamage wherever possible. I started out using a shield but when I stumbled across my first Korvan Helberd I immediately switched to 2 handed melee combat. You see, the Korvan Helberd deals fire, electro, cold, etc dmg instead fo physical dmg. In combinatiion with my tons of +% fire dmg I have never had an easier time breezing through Veteran. I cleave through hords of enemies like a literal hot knife through butter. All that while looking absolutely fabulous in my new Korvan transmogs.

- Shattered Realm: Now this could have been a part of the gameplay section but I feel like it deserves an entire section of its own. Shattered realms are infinity dungeons similar to Diablo III's greater rifts. However so far I have found them to be much more enjoyeable and rewarding due to certain mechanics that add a strategic component to them. There are shrines and pickups that allow you to temporarily buff your character as well as random mutators that change enemy as well as player stats. In addition to that, many shattered reals shards offer unique minigames like "the floor is lava" or "activate X levers". Descening deeper and deeper into the shattered realms while constantly fighting a race against time is a very entertaining way of grinding for loot. And the fact, that you can earn additional skillpoints as well as unique runes and armor in the shattered realm doesn't hurt either.

- Various Quality of Life improvements. You can now transfer money from one character to another, transmute one set piece into another setpiece (which finally helped me to complete the Ultos set after almost 500 hours of gameplay) and there's a well thought out lootfilter that makes grinding for specific items a lot less tedious. I'm still waiting for an autopickup feature for crafting materials though.

Verdict: If you 're a casual Grim Dawn player who's only there to check back on the story and new visuals then Forgotten Gods probably won't be worth the 15 bucks. However, if you enjoyed the earlier installments fo the franchise beyond the time it takes to clear the story or if you've never played Grim Dawn before I highly recoomend you to buy this DLC. With the release of Forgotten Gods Grim Dawn is now a game that's pretty much 100% featurecomplete. Whatever you could possibly want from an isometric hack'n'slash ARPG this games has it.
