A Story about a Story
We have Jesse (who is playable as a male or female) main protagonist who is a wimp and does not carry themselves highly compared to our other characters. Throughout the campaign, you will see the character grow from cowardly, frail, and even unadventurous to a hero that craves adventures is strong and can overcome any odds. Depending on the choices you make for them can make them an arrogant butthole or an appreciative friend who is well-liked. I enjoyed the first four episodes where every chapter was intense, intriguing, and ominous about who the villains were. How the characters overcame their fears and discouragement while showing hope to one another. I found each character to be interesting and could relate to some form on why they had their moments of doubts or eagerness for every scenario at hand. Honestly, the game could have ended at episode four, and would not be upset at all about it. It would make sense to end it at four. The story was well written for a game that is entirely based on a sandbox universe. Episode five is opening up the door to downloadable content (DLC). This is where I did not have the same perspective of the game compared to the first four chapters. The characters' demeanor changed. They were a bit cocky and self-absorbed – which is not a bad thing – but character growth and team growth had changed course. You could start to see jealousy with a side of resentment coursing through. That is not a negative for me since that is how people are in general, it was the new content that came with it that I did not have the same gratification as said former chapters. There is also a major gap between episode 4 and episode 5 which left some questions unanswered. I will not spoil the story as I found it to be an enjoyable ride with Jesse and the gang going with their shortcomings and triumphs. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2676505007A Game about a Game
The gameplay consists of quick-time events (QTEs) in which you will press Q or E or motion a move command to dodge, attack, or make an action happen within about three to five seconds before you either fail or achieve the action that was required. There will be moments where you can move around freely in a very confined area to find clues. Talk to individuals, or just hear some relative background information regarding the story and/or scenario you are in. Building and/or crafting is very limited throughout the experience. Constructing any forms of buildings or fortifications are done by other characters or by Jesse with fast-forward approach with you spamming the Q button. When it comes to crafting items this becomes restricted. You will acquire items throughout your adventures and at certain events will you be able to assemble said items. Amazingly, nothing changed from the sandbox version to the story mode. Making a lever still requires one stone block and one wooden stick as if done the same way in Minecraft. The fact it meshes so well into the story and gameplay that this feels genuine. I am happy to see it done respectably. I found the movement at times to be wonky as if it was not fleshed out completely for a keyboard versus a controller. An example would be if I was trying to move diagonally towards the Northeast, Jesse would then move in the direction of East or North. The UI was not bad since the only time it showed any of the items you carried would only be during the exploration or combat with your health bar during the combat scenario. A lot of the gameplay is realistically you sitting back and watching a playable movie. There will be interactions where you will decide what is the best choice depending on how you want to play the protagonist. There is no right or wrong option, but you do get to see the results of what others have shown at the end of each episode. The selections you pick do not give an alternative ending, but it does change the course of actions that others treat you throughout the campaign. I would have liked to have alternative outcomes when different decisions you pick throughout the story effects the ending. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2676505020What’s in Your Crafting Table?
GPU: EVGA FTW3 GeForce RTX 3070 Ti CPU: Intel Core i9-10900K OS: Windows 10 Ram: 64GB Storage: Evo 870 4TB (SSD) During the gameplay, I did NOT experience any crashes, stutter, lag, and blue screen of death, or any graphical hiccups. I did, however, experience once in a blue moon that the audio would cut-off between characters at times if an option was chosen too early or static noise. Otherwise, the game is solid, loads quickly, and runs smoothly. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2676505031Build Awhile and Listen
I enjoyed this title from Telltale Games. I have read and heard many complaints of the title, but that is maybe because I am not a big, ultra, over 9000 Minecraft fan to see the negative side of it while comparing it to the actual Minecraft product. Between some of the wonky controls and slight audio hiccups, I found it transpire in an engaging, entertaining, and well-written for a more or less interactive movie.ve movie.

Minecraft: Story Mode
