Absoluter Geheimtipp!
Ein unbekanntes Horrorspiel, kann sich das lohnen? Ja!

- A deep, interesting story
- Despite the lack of fixed jump-scares, this game manages to be extremely scary and stressful at many points.
- Superb artistic direction coupled with beautiful visuals
- Amazing OST for an indie game
- Memorable cutscenes
- Stupendous atmosphere
- Performance might leave something to desire
- Some plot twists in the game might not be enjoyed by some due to their extremeness and very little foreshadowing (from some aspects)
- Presence of a few bugs, although nothing game-breaking
- The items you need for some puzzles can be placed in unconventional/out of sight places that require you to point your camera in directions you’d never need to do
- TAKE OFF THE F*ING HIGH HEELS
Gameplay
Remothered: Tormented Fathers has modular/mainstream pure Horror gameplay. The entire game takes place within a large mansion, which you stealthily explore while avoiding whomever wants to gouge your eyes out with a sickle or eviscerate you with a pair of gardening shears. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2151685674 In-General Gameplay is primarily stealth, but with options to distract opponents with diversionary items that you can pick up for a maximum of 3 diversion items of three different categories; throw-able (the most common), cords that can be wrapped on doors to (temporarily) prevent them from being opened from the other side, or placeable diversion items (such as timed clocks or music boxes) that make a racket in the corridors of an otherwise very, very quiet mansion. For this reason, playing this game with headphones is a must, as a significant portion of the gameplay lies with acoustics and listening to the footsteps and voice of the mansion’s inhabitants to know their whereabouts. Defence There are defense items in the game, but not in the same vein as some other horror games that provide you with much more options to defend yourself. You can pick up only one defensive item, including cleavers, sewing needles, scissors and knives. These cannot be manually used, and will be expended in case a chaser catches you, allowing you to counterattack them and incapacitate them for a short period of time until you escape. The single defensive item in your possession can be upgraded either with the wire spool to make it usable more than once, or with the acidic can to increase it’s damage (and stun your attacker for longer, granting you time to escape). Stealth The stealth portion of this game is hide-and-seek. You attempt to avoid your chasers. Your character’s posture, speed and the proximity of any enemy are all taken into account on whether the occupants of the massive mansion are going to investigate the origin of the sounds they heard or start sprinting because you were loud enough for them to know you are there. The mansion’s design (2 floors and a basement) provide for a lot of interesting and dangerous scenarios that can make your heart race as your chaser passes by In-front of your eyes while you are crouched behind a chair, hiding below a couch or peering out of the sills of a closet or peeking out the edge of a wardrobe. Saving and recovering Saving is both done automatically at specific checkpoints, and can be manually done through two mirrors inside the mansion with a metronome placed below them, anyone who played The Evil Within will find these mirrors very similar to the ones from that game. Your character has graphical HP where she will become more bloodied the more injured she is, and will start breathing frantically when on low HP, adding to the fear effect of the game. You can heal injuries at the same mirrors you save in.Story in general (SPOILERS)
Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a story-rich game, not in the essence that it has lots of dialogue or character development or numerous cut-scenes, but the fact that what might initially seem like a shallow puddle and a generic hide & seek game with a rather predictable premise goes off-course very quickly into a deep rabbit hole of plot-twists, revelations and wrinkles in the story. A lot of moments that will leave a paradoxical expression on the player’s face, and a lot of “Ooh, that makes sense now” moments. The game, despite it’s very few characters and small amount of cut-scenes, manages to evoke a great share of feelings, empathy or compassion where revulsion used to reside. Although some of the plot twists might be hard to swallow, they still add a massive layer to what otherwise seems a shallow story. Unfortunately I cannot divulge anything more specific as one of the finer points of this game is the story, and I do not wish to spoil anything. The game contains a lot of collectibles and photos that serve to communicate some lore, background and general world-building info to the player in a method that does not force them upon the player, but if the player’s interest has been piqued and he wants to know more, he can read them. Once again, later in the game when everything becomes clear and you’ve jumped beyond several of the plot twists, you will be able to connect a lot of dots in these collectibles/documents/photos and put the pieces together. The game possesses relatively few cut-scenes, but all of them are extremely well crafted, have several memorable moments and have just the right length, as in they do not drag out for too long and are not too short for any real character development to take place. The cinematography of the cut-scenes is incredible, the ambiance is often top-notch, although the animations might are not the best in the world.Visuals & Performance in general
Visuals The game Is built on the UE4 engine, and as expected boasts very impressive visuals, but like many UE indie games it also errs on the side of performance. Despite being a corridor game in small indoor spaces without much to see, the game can still be highly demanding on frames if you set your graphical settings too high. LOD is also very noticeably short and you will see a lot of objects rendering at higher polygons within a few steps of them. The LOD is infact so short that it can impede with gameplay, as many lights around the house sometimes turn-off if you are too far from them, and does not take into account player POV. To bring-into-light this issue even more, some enemies in the game have a specific cue to them; the all lights in their vicinity often turn-off, as thus, the lights turning off due to short LOD can impede with gameplay. Art direction The game’s art direction is quite honestly stellar for those who are fans of clock tower and people who love games set inside large haunted mansions. The artwork across the mansion, the design of some of the enemies and the variance of aesthetic across different areas inside the mansion is phenomenal. Framerate I played on the following hardware on 1440p resolution and managed to achieve steady 60 FPS with some dips for the vast majority of the game on the highest settings: GTX 1080Ti Ryzen 5 3600x 18gb of DDR4Verdict: 7.5/10 (Great)

Because I forgot.. But I also forgot that I had promised to remember...
Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a survival horror game that kept me on edge from the first moment until the end of the game. The story starts off with Rosemary Reed who made her way to Richard Felton’s house to investigate the disappearance of a girl called Celeste who is Richard's adopted daughter. Mr. Felton was not happy to see Rosemary or her digging into his personal matters. He asked her to leave and she did, but she was determined to learn the whole mystery about the man and his missing adopted child as well as his illness and the reasons behind leaving the institution.. The story is very interesting and has many twists. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2135529659 The game is all about stealthing and tries to achieve the main objective which is getting out of the house without getting caught. (Took me many turns and deaths to finish this objective) You have defense items that you can use once you get caught, but sadly Rosemary can't fight, the best thing to do is running and hiding. The gameplay reminded me of Haunting Ground, even the house's yard looked a bit similar. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2135534088 The artwork and scenery of this game are out of this world! So beautiful creepy atmosphere, however, the character design and animation weren't my favorite. The same goes for the voice-overs, some of them are ok and some of them are not too much. The soundtrack wasn't very noticeable until the last bit of the game, I really liked it. I wished there was a journal or map that'd help you through the 'escaping' but there is an objective list and a collectible section that you can keep track of documents and photos you've seen. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2135532876 Pros: +Interesting story with many twists. +OK voice over. +Stealth gameplay. +Good graphics and atmosphere. +Journal with objectives. +Collectables. +Steam achievements. Cons: - Mediocre character design. - Bad animation. - No map. - Clunky controls (By using a controller) Since this is like a classic survival horror games, they made it classic to the end by allowing you to save your game in certain spots, in her case, mirrors. There are a couple of areas where you can find a mirror where you can save your game in. There are also checkpoints with automatic save. Of course, once you are caught you'll have to re-play the whole thing again either from the last checkpoint or last saved file. This made me anxious the whole time, especially when you don't know when they are going to follow you or show up. I admit I screamed and gasped multiple times during my gameplay. I recommend it to people who enjoy horror and stealth games, keep in mind there are gore and violence scenes.Zitat:

Zitat:
Rosemary Reed:
It may be the end of everything, and maybe we are already dead...and neither of us knows it.
Pretty good 'old-school' Survival Horror game with a remarkable artistic section (both graphics and sounds). The story is really engaging, intriguing and very well written. The thing I like more of this game: make you feel constant tension with an excellent atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the controlls awkwardness ruins a bit the experience.
If you love the genre, you will like this for sure.
