Wie fange ich an...
Das Spiel habe ich unter den schlechtesten Bewertungen-Spielen im Bereich Koop gefunden, aber es hat trotzdem viele Aspekte um es weiter zu spielen. Die Optik ist solala, der Spielspaß ist solala, die Dialoge sind solala und im Großen und Ganzen würde ich das Spiel als massive Zeitverschwendung sehen.

I played this game only a short time but it was soo much fun. I had after only 5 minutes two dragons. The graphics of this game are awsome.
So in germany we would say:
Vallah das Spiel ist Schmutz :)
Aber wenn du bereit bist nach 5 min schon rein zu payen dann go for it! :)

Es ist ein tolles Spiel welches einem Die Möglichkeit gibt sich mit seinem Lieblings Drachen auf Abenteuer zu begeben, leider gibt es auch Nachteile, sowie Bugs und das vieles so viel Kostet, aber das Spiel ist nicht so das mann was Kaufen muss, da mann auch durch die Quests seinen Drachen von Baby zu Titanflügler aufleveln lassen kann, die Drachen wurden aus den Filmen gut nachgemacht , aber manche , vor allem die neuen sehen aus wie Mischung von mehreren Drachen oder Tieren verschiedener Arten, die nirgends im Film oder Buch der Drachen Existieren.

Es gibt viele bugs/laggs in dem Spiel.. Wo man aber drüber hinweg sehen kann, man sollte dem spiel eine chance geben.. da es eigentlich ein sehr cooles spiel ist.. ich find es nur doof dass die stallplätze so viele diamanten kosten.. aber ich empfehle es :D

Die ersten zwei Stunden sind Ok. Danach muss man zahlen. Und ich habe schon jeden Dialog gelesen, was 30-50 Minuten der Spielzeit sind. Ebenso war ich die ersten zwei Stunden komplett planlos, weil es so unübersichtlich ist.

FAZIT: Pay to continue game. Sollte ab 12 oder für noch ältere sein.

Even tho Im playing this game since 2014 and I really love this game I wouldnt recommend it if youre not part of this franchise.
Through years the game is still buggy, many dragons have really old models since 2014, for almost everything you want to buy you need gems (thankfully, since 2016 gems are kinda easy to get), If youre active player in few days you will complete all the quest (even the expantions), You cannot use chat without getting banned, Toothless as a membership dragon is really awful.
but hey, since last year, the game is getting better.
Events are not that boring, new dragons looks beautiful and have smooth animations and the team is listening to community and trying to make this game more enjoyable. And as I said earlier gems are no longer that hard to get, so non-member players can still enjoy this game.

also kinda sad, because as achievement collector (on steam) some of the achievements, you cannot get them if youre newbie on steam.

hopefully one day, it will get better.

I recommend READING this ALL .This game looks fun but in reality its a horrible money sucking game, and you may get far with playing without spending money but OF COURSE there's a MONEY WALL were you (HAVE) to spend money to get further, the memberships SUCK its not worth spending any money because it will end and your perks go bye even the dragons you get in the membership goes away, the game is cool and really awesome but i don't recommend anyone to play this game. Also another thing is when you hatch an egg you have to (pay real money) to get gems and grow your dragon! You can get gems that are free but still you need a tun of coins to just get some gems and you can make gems into coins but you can't turn coins into gems because again you have to pay for them or grind all day and night for enough coins honestly it'd be better if they made you pay money to get the game instead of having to pay for everything in the game! could someone make a decent how to train your dragon game without recking the game? And for the devs of this game FIX THE GAME! I'm sorry if any of this hurts the devs but it is the honest truth! (everyone i enables comments on this)

Alright, here it goes. So, School of Dragons is a game that I have played for many years. it felt like the best how to train your dragon game in the world at the time when it was new and booming. Now that I've been playing it for nearly 6 years now, half of which the game play was on the steam variant, I would say no to playing this game. It's bugged to say the least, the most being that many times that the game does bug out or glitch your character, dragons, and items, it's a normality. There are some good glitches that can allow for extra speed in racing or perhaps to increase your dragon tactics stats, but that is about it and the game doesn't provide much activity in pve or pvp once you've completed everything (pvp mainly being racing and fireball frenzy). As a HTTYD fan to another, I'd say only play this game if you'd like to experience a few months or even a few years building character in your dragons. Otherwise, the game is this: Collect pets, play mini games, deal with bugs or the game doesn't decide to work. Enough said, that is all.

I wish I could put a better review to this game, as I luved the movies... But I think that is where this is going to stay great movies.. It says I've played this game for 1.5 hours, well guess what.. I hadn't even gotten into the game. That's all load time.. I did finally at one point got to register and make a character, but never into the game itself.. So there is my review, Take it, leave it. All I know is I'm not happy with the game....

when I was young I used to play this game having fun but now when I'm older I just realized how boring and money grabbing this game is it's not worth 52hrs honestly they just want your money nothing else THE GAMEPLAY is normal there isn't anything that special about it it's your average MMO game you need to pay to buy new dragons QUEST SYSETM is bad there's a lot of repeat of the quests IDK now I find the game boring and lost they didn't focus on the story as much. SUMMARY: the game is boring and money grabbing save your money and time and don't play this game.

the game is great, but it's bugs will drive you insane, I've been stuck on a problem where the flight club achievements wont update and I have contacted support (awaiting a reply), and it is kinda pay to win but you can get by as a free to play player.

Where do I even start? Trick question, not gonna bother with detail, cause I could be at this forever.

Game is broken.
Too many crashes and lack of optimization which only gets worse as the devs continue adding without fixing.

And of course, all they want is your money.

My Updated Review: Terrible Server Quality, all the money people invest into this game goes into improving absolutely NOTHING, being a long time player of the game (Since 2014) they used to improve stuff all the time, now they just ignore the Community, all the bugs found are ignored and tossed to the side, all they do is add more and more to the game, worsening it to the point where someone with a High-End PC, Excellent Connection, and Ethernet to go along with it, cannot load onto the game, you think they'd invest in fixing bugs, improving server quality, and all the issues found in the game, but they don't, if this continues on, I'll lose all faith in the game, personally, at this point, I'd say DO NOT spend money on this game, they just suck the money out of kids who know no better, and just want to see their favourite HTTYD characters.

very, very,very laggy. Game crashing all the time.They ask a lot of money to have a decent (more or less) game. You can't fuse equipment without crashing the game. Game crash about every 15 minutes. And more you game is big(things that you buy with real money) more you will crash.

This game has fallen hard from its former glory.

That should be all I need to say about it, but it is not. I have been playing school of dragons since year one, and let me tell you, this game has changed for the worse.

I used to love this game, it was simple and you could ride whatever dragon you wanted and even customize them to your heart's content, they even added cool mini games later, but this does not excuse what they took out. I completed the game, can no longer properly level up my dragons without getting a 500 gem age up ticket to allow my dragon to fly so I can participate in the racing mini game , defending against the outcast ship, and the dragon tactics game, because apparently you have to be able to fly with a person on your back to be able to do that (costs five dollars for 525 gems for any how are thinking of aging up dragons like that, the price of the ticket gets cut to 250 gems after the first age up, but what is the point of doing that after being able to level up your dragon the first time, right?)

You may say, “oh, they have seasonal events where you get free stuff…” but that is only true if you work at it for five hours every day out of all the days that event is ongoing in order to harvest the event animals or event crops, fight in all of the seasonal dragon tactics levels day after day, or go through that maze for the hundredth time if you really want the dragon at the end, which will be impossible to get if you did not start the event on the first week it starts on (sick of the maze mini game, by the way, the seasonal daily quests are nice, but really hard to do with a non mature dragon, which ruins the experience gain for the twenty baby dragons I am attempting to raise to maturity). So in that situation, most people try to opt out of that and just pony up around a hundred dollars to claim the grand prize of that event, and even then I doubt a child, the target demographic of this game, would be able to pay for it without the help of their parents. Plus’s, most of the dragons featured in the events become available later anyways, so why pay a hundred when you only needed five or ten dollars to get it later? (If you want proof of that, the skrill and boneknapper hybrid was the prize for one of the Halloween events, and the nightlights were available during a Christmas event, both came back a couple months to a year later, and costed less than what they would have if you bought event currency for them.)

There is also the saying that “if you are having trouble leveling your dragon up, use a mini game or the chicken egg trick.” And to that I say, back in my day, we used to have something called the fire pit trick. In the early versions of the game, there was a glitch that allowed players to have their dragons shoot at a fire pit and earn five xp and five gold for every five blasts on that pit. That was a great way to level up before they took it out, and so astute players noticed that you could pet your dragon in one of the mini games and also noticed that it raised the dragons xp and happiness all at once, so the eel feeding hack was born. You feed your dragon an eel to lower its happiness, then you pet it and replete until it hits level ten. It cost bait, but it was far cheaper than the chicken egg method that is the only efficient method to level up a dragon that is level one to five, or a baby for those who have no idea what I am talking about. They added out the happiness game in place of these eels you have to go around and shoot (which I hate and I preferred petting my dragon, or throwing them a ball to catch, or even letting them chase a light like a cat… also the eel roasting mini game that let you earn coins and dragon xp and happiness all for five energy per round, which was my characters main source of gold. that is what those eels replaced, and it was my last straw.)

And then, you could ask, “why did you not use your farm to earn more gold?” The main reason is that it costs more to maintain in terms of time and gold, and there is a limit to how many things you can put on the farm with this weird point system, so most of the time you cannot utilize your farm to its fullest potential anyways. Things also spoil if you do not harvest them in time, causing you to need to buy them again, which means you need to be on your toes and not plant stuff before going to sleep, because it only takes twelve hours to spoil, and I normally sleep that much, so yeah… I have lost a lot of crops because of that… also, some really good money making animals cost gems, which is really weird and I had to give up on some two thousand gold tasks because of that.

And then the mini games themselves… the mini game where you roasted eels has been taken out (mentioned earlier), so has alchemy adventure (matching game that was really fun, hey have an app for it now so they took it out), thunder run racing is not fun unless you have a really fast dragon, like about the same speed as toothless because that is the one dragon all the membership users use, I should know, I did it myself until I liked my skrill better, and there is also the dragon tactics game that dose not even have all the dragons implemented into it yet, and I am not talking about just the new ones either, I am talking about dragons that have been available for years and they had ample time to implement them in somewhere down the line, and then there is flight club, which saps your dragons energy for twice the amount than the others,which if you are not a member is quite a bit. These mini games normally sap at least five to ten energy points from your dragon, which then forces you to fish and lose gold from the frugal profit those games give you if you do not stockpile bait like the apocalypse is happening.

And do you want to hear the reason why they added out both the eel roasting game and the petting mini game? They said that it was to make things easier for Mobile users because less things are implemented in the game… if they truly wanted to do that, when why not add thunder run racing, or the dragon tactics minigames instead? Those are the things that are really annoying to Mobile users due to lag and extended waiting times for thunder run racing, and the glitchy nature of dragon tactics. Also, they could have kept those things for people who play on pc as well, and just make Mobile devices and pc have separate servers… that would also help with the lag issues mentioned in thunder run racing as well, just saying...

And the membership thing sucks, you may get a dragon stable, double dragon energy, islands that non members have to pay for in order to do the quest lines there, a toothless if you paid for the three month and up memberships, a light furry, a 20% discount on all in game store items except for when you pay real money for something, and you might get 500 free gems every month alongside a mystery dragon egg crate, but that pales in compared on to how much you have to pay to obtain those things, you can look at this yourself in the App Store, but there are very expensive.

To sum this all up, this game has become nearly unplayable to me, if I could have developed it I would have at least kept the fire pit thing alive as a way to allow players to level up their baby dragons easily, but still, this is what this game has become, a manny grubbing pay to play with loot boxes and important content hidden behind expensive membership fees or 1000 to 2000 gem maps without membership, and events that suck, because it is more like a race against the clock, which at the very least ruins it for me.

Do not get tricked as I have, do not get this game, or if you do, do not spend a dime on it. It is never worth it.

This can get p2w but overall very good nostalgia wise.
Grindy but yet rewarding with events and teamwork based raids. (Battle event)
The dragons are something I personally have never seen before and adore.
You have not alot of customization options when starting the game but it works out.

If you have played before you should definitely return!

When I was a kid, this game was my everything. I played all day and night and it was fun.

Now, devs don't care about game, they just want your money. It's so buggy and I can't finish the quest. Graphic is okay but they should do something about it. You can't do anything without gems. New quests are boring and repetitive.

BARELY PLAYABLE! At times it is really fun and I've spent nearly $100 on the game already, but I keep running into bugs CONSTANTLY! I can't finish quests half the time, and now it's at the point that I can't even play for 5 seconds before it logs me out! The developers need to stop adding more content to the game and start fixing the issues!

This Game is amazing. But the game is basically a pay to play game and it has a lack of quests that give you a bunch of exp, I have many Titan Wing dragons and the worst part about them is you can't reverse it so you have to buy another of the same dragon and age it up. I play this game and if you are a big fan of the franchise then install the game but if you want a game and have fun and not using your life savings than find a different game.

This has been my childhood game and after trying this many years later i remembered why i stopped playing. So many bugs, can't complete quizzes / missions. Battle even't are usually bugged, no rewards etc. And what is the point to pay 50 gems to change a dragons name but changing the dragons color only cost 15 gems? Why changing name can't be free or at least 5 - 10. Graphics needs some updating but that's not the main problem. Bugs are everywhere and they are affecting the gameplay BADLY. I can't even complete dragon quests... My dragons are literally stuck at the quest because i can't complete it. It just shows the loading icon.

At the time of this review Steam has me at 3.6 hours of play, but not including Steam time I have closer to 30+.
This is a great game, an amazing intro into MMOs, and a great game for any HTTYD fans. I have enjoyed playing this game for hours, but I'll give some of the more key aspects for you to decide yourself.

Pros: decent graphics, great for younger kids, easy to understand and figure out, tons of dragons and cosmetics (for you or your dragon) interesting story line, lot's to do outside of main quests, constantly updating.
Cons: Many things cost gems with although can be got in game will take a long while, pretty limited content (most everything can be done in a weekend), cosmetics cost way too much, energy keeps you from being able to fly as much as you might wish you could.

Okay, there's a few things i'd like to say about this game. I love it because it was a huge childhood game I loved to play, I did although have it on the website at the time but I can say I had like over 1,000 or even 2,000+ hours on this, I've only just decided to get it on Steam because I wanted to know what they changed about the game since I haven't played it properly in like 4-5 years now. It is sadly still pay to win, not a lot of quests you can do unless you have membership or buy it with gems. I suggest giving this game a go if you absolutely love the How to train your dragon movies and the series like I did and the membership is worth it if you love the story-lines. The music is amazing and my personal opinion can be very immersive if you love collecting dragons and being a dragon rider. Sadly I cannot get into my old childhood account but I shall be making a new one as it will be nostalgic :)

I’ve played this game for around 7 and a half years, and I’d say that overall it’s a decent MMO.
Pros: Good for fans of the HTTYD franchise, easy to grasp, educating for children while not completely condescending for adults, plenty of content and many enjoyable story expansions.

Cons: Majority of dragon eggs require grinding or money, somewhat pay-to-win in the competitive modes of the game, hackers can make the racing mode unpleasant, abundance of bugs and the best received form of additional content from the community(being expansions), has seemed to end as one hasn’t been added in almost 2 years when there was usually one each year, bringing a lack of enjoyable story content, and finally the story of the game doesn’t fit with the canon timeline of the franchise.
I am slightly biased due to how long I’ve stuck around with the game for, but I’d say that as long as you know what you’ll find going in, it can be enjoyable.

If I could give this a neutral rating, I would. On one hand, I do have fun with the game, raising my dragon and playing mini games (I personally love Dragon Tactics). On the other, it's buggy and a lot of additional quests are hidden behind a paywall (whether it's through buying or a membership).

If you're a huge fan of the show and movies like I am, and you're looking for a casual and cute MMO, then I recommend it.

Otherwise, not so much.

Pay to play, half a game is behind member ship or you have to pay money to play it.
controls are terrible too.
Actually there was one thing which was nice and it was flying with the dragon in a open world.
I heard that if you watch the Netflix series from nf, this would be much interesting.
Still has lots of bugs n stuff.
but its free so worth to test ride night fury. otherwise pretty bad game.

Honestly, this game is pretty fun, but the thing is that it's a bit pay to win. I'm not saying you shouldn't buy the membership or something, but if you wanna do it to support the devs into fixing bugs/glitches, I recommend you keep your money where it is already.
Overall, this game is a bit fun, would be better if they would've fixed the bugs and glitches (they didnt do it since 2016, it's really bad and I hate that).
I used to play this game when it was a browser game, now I decided to play it again and it's a game that makes time fly by, it's pretty fun. :)

There's a certain point in the game where you've done a good portion of the quests & the rest of it is blocked off behind a Gem-Paywall (or with membership).
But hey! You can go on the mobile app and get 10 gems every hour! ....it's over 1200 gems to unlock a portion of the game with up to 10 quests.....

Half of my playtime was spent on loading screens, there's fucking loading screens for everything and they take forever, I can play the Witcher 3 and GTA online without a problem, but this game takes all that time to load even dialogue? No thank you.The UI is terrible, the controlls are terrible and on top of that there's the before mentioned horrid loading screens.I went in expecting a cartoony and laid back fun game, instead got a terrible optimized and buggy game.Still, it's free, don't let me stop you from trying it but know it's bad.

I'm going to give this game a yes, but barely.
So, first of all this game used to be better. Not that it has changed that much, but there were much less dragons than now, so it didn't seem so much pay to win.
I wouldn't say I've experienced so many bugs as everyone says. Though I haven't played for a while now.
The graphics are... okay considering the relase date. Also for newcomers this game used to be a BROWSER game (maybe it still is, dunno), so the graphics are actually awesome xD.
Honestly I love it. It's solely focused on riding dragons, feeding them and training them. It gave you quests, so you wouldn't even get bored.
The problem began with the expansions. At some point in the game you run out of quests and actually have to BUY the overpriced expansions to be able to progress.
For the developers I recommend giving players a chance to somehow earn some new dragons and if not make at least some expansions free so the players don't feel so pressured about being free to play players.

I would 100% recommend this game. Although, the game does get a bit boring after a while if yo don't buy a membership. I've been playing for two years, I'm at level 47 or so, and I regret not having a membership. But, on a good note, the quests are a lot of fun, never get too repetitive, and are very rewarding. So, if you decide to play School of Dragons, splerge a bit, and buy a membership.

i tried getting back into this game because it was a HUGE part of my childhood. i remember it being *so* much fun, riding around on my dragons and making friends. now, it's an outdated, laggy mess that is in desperate need of some TLC. if you're wanting to experience the same thing i did, i think you'd best invest in another mmo, as this one is downright awful.

if you still want to try it out, be prepared to have the weirdest, slowest mouse sensitivity for no reason, areas taking way too long to load, graphics that are not only weird, but severely outdated and character models that looked like they were jammed together with no passion, love or inspiration at all. overall, a 2/10 experience from me :/

There's not much to do in the game, because you quickly run out of quests and mini games are not good enough to keep you playing. Also it's rather buggy. Don't play it if you're an achievement hunter, it has broken achievements!

Why I don't recommend this game:
.The ridiculous amount bugs that occur,
.The over-priced items,
.And the lag. (especially when playing online)

The game feels a little lifeless too but that's probably just me.

Typical low quality movie tie in. Mobile quality graphics and basically unchanged UI. Tons and tons of paywalls and constant bombardment with the store. Really long load times to do anything, as well as plenty of janky bugs and crashes. The patch notes are basically just adding items to the store without fixing anything. Low budget (as expected) with maybe 5 voice lines from the movie's actors. Total cash grab and a way to get whiny kids to bug their parents for money.

If you somehow get passed all that...there isn't actually much to DO in the game or a way to have fun with it.

Overall a big miss. My kids like seeing Toothless right away and a bit of the flying (which of course is limited by dragon's stamina which goes down until you feed them fish, which are tedious to get without giving real money. Of course subscribers get 2x dragon stamina).

I may as well just play a proper game like Drakan Order of the Flame (which is 20+ years old).

Positives: Flying on dragons plays pretty well, the controls are decent. Controlling your character on foot is just how you would expect it to be, standard controls for a walking human in a videogame.

The graphics of everything except the model of the player character are decent.

Negatives: There is no main goal or anything, you suddenly get thrown into conflicts that last like five quests and end.

There is also so much stuff that the NPCs pull out of their ass, like making potions just because an NPC needs to have that potion right now, or collecting wood from a small forest area just because an NPC wants to build something out of that wood right now. It's all for the NPCs, and you only do it for the money and for them to praise you. And then the universe of the game gets amnesia and forgets you just did all that, and everything's back to normal. There is no actual reason or clear motives to do what you're told to do. Playing this game feels like doing makeup on your grandma.

Why the heck would we need a farm? Dragon farm I would understand, cuz' it's a game about dragons, but, a generic farm with sheep and chickens? Why? And you even get to sell your crops to random strangers like in a mobile farming game! What the heck?!

The model of the player character is terrible and it looks like it's been pulled out from 2008. I normally wouldn't crack my ass about it, but there is a terrifying contrast between the Pixar-looking NPCs and the Mii-looking player character. They legit look like they were from completely different games!

Good potential, but very buggy and expensive. I think I've somehow completed all the quests or maybe I'm just stuck? The only way for me to get quests right now would to buy an extension pack, but I don't really have any money. If it was less buggy and ran more smoothly, I would consider investing when I did get some money. I do love the game though, it's just frustrating sometimes.

Absolutely love this game, although it is heavily PTW, it's fairly decent for a free game. If you love HTTYD then you'll love this. Although, all of the good quests require membership. It would be nice if the fun / best features were attainable through events instead of membership. But overall, absolutely love this game.

Played this on my phone: when entering areas the entire place can not load, flying is horrible. Game is laggy as all hell, and you need a paid membership to get most content just like Rise of Berk. I'm not waisting money on this game.
