And what’s that we spot on the camera? It looks like the return of the beloved GWR license! We’ve very proud to officially represent the trains included on the Riviera line in their GWR liveries, for both the new, dual-powered BR Class 802 and the Class 150.

This route is packed with history, originally built in the 1840s by Isambard Kingdom Brunel as an atmospheric railway, and later transformed to standard traction – it’s significance to the region is paramount.
Back with the release of the Class 170 from Rivet Games, we brought the Cross Country livery to TSW! Of course, with this new brand, we had to bring in the…

Get onboard with the new NJ TRANSIT® Arrow III EMU, an iconic statement of New Jersey’s commuter railroading scene, included with the Morristown Line route, which is an older unit built in the 70s, which features an antiquated control system – with no reverser, it’s either forwards or backwards, you’ll get a classic feel when driving.

Also included on the line is the NJ TRANSIT® ALP-46, a more modern electric locomotive to compliment your collection and give you a different experience across the line, coming with the NJ TRANSIT® Multi-Level and cab cars.
[/img]
Depart from Hoboken in the Arrow III, through the 1908 Bergen Tunnels, onwards to Newark and Orange to ultimately reach Dover station, or take the modern ALP-46 electric locomotive & MultiLevel cars on push/pull electric services bound for the Big Apple.[/p][p][/p]
NJ TRANSIT® ALP-45DP Electro-Diesel (Deluxe Loco)
[p][/img]Arriving to TSW for the first time, here comes a brand-new dual-power loco that mixes the best of overhead electric and diesel running.
[/img][/p][p]
The ALP-45DP is a modern and innovative locomotive that entered service in the early 2010s. Replacing ageing diesels, the ALP-45 is fitted with both a pantograph, and a diesel engine for dual-mode operation; this makes the loco capable of running across New Jersey’s unelectrified lines.
[/img][/p][p]
Unlike the ALP-46, the ALP-45DP is only a single-cab locomotive to make room inside for two turbocharged V12 engines, which combined are able to push and pull commuter trains away from the wires with 4200 horsepower under the hood. When making use of overhead wires, the ALP-45 can draw power from both the Morristown Division’s 25kV wires, and Newark’s 12kV setup, allowing them to operate to and from both Hoboken Terminal and New York Penn Station.

Bahnstrecke Leipzig – Dresden
[p][/img]Prepare yourselves for a trip along the oldest long-distance railway in Germany, now heading all the way to Leipzig with modern ICE, regional and freight traffic.

For those familiar with the original Dresden-Riesa line from TSW2, this new updated route completely overhauls and revitalises the entire experience, offering the full journey to Leipzig, extending the total track to a massive 160km, and featuring over 40 stations across the entire length!
[/img]
The Riesa-Leipzig extension is all high speed, providing a greater run for IC and ICE traffic, and adding value to all regional journeys, and additionally the route will also feature the Dresden-Coswig branch via the massive Friedrichstadt freight yard, which also boosts existing passenger services.
[/img]

DB BR 294 Diesel Shunter (Deluxe Loco)
[p][/img]Popular across Germany, pick up the DB BR 294 shunting locomotive and unlock new gameplay across the yards and industries of Leipzig-Dresden with classic diesel power.
[/img]
The BR 294, originally known as the V 90 series, were built in the 1960s & 70s as heavy shunting locomotives. Their weight and power made them suitable for shunting long trains, but also transporting wagons between different locations. In the 1990s a fleet overhaul saw 290 locos rebuilt & reclassified as the BR 294.
Despite their age, and with multiple locos retired in favour of newer traction, many 294s can still be found working today, holding onto local train duties and preparing long-distance freight for mainline traction to take onward.[/p][p][/p][p][/img]

Train Sim World 6 Core Features
[p][/img][/p][p]New Feature: Random EventsIt’s time to expect the unexpected – Randomised events are coming to Train Sim World 6 to completely change your game sessions and introduce a new level of variety. You will encounter two types of random events during gameplay:
Signal Delays
A chance for some signals to take longer to update than expected, reflecting the realistic short delays due to human-operation for updating signal clearance.
Whilst this impact usually only results in waits of a few seconds longer than expected, due to the knock-on effect this can cause over a long journey, this can cascade and completely shift how you experience the run from one session to the next. You may end up further ahead, or stuck behind, other AI trains on the network, resulting in new challenges and situations requiring further awareness of the scenario unfolding around you.
Temporary Speed Restrictions
A very popular request from players, temporary speed restrictions are also simulating the reality of railway operation, due to situations such as damage to the line, or railway workers around the tracks, causing a needed reason to limit the speed.
Safety speed restrictions can now be randomly placed across the track, causing moments where you’ll need to adjust your speed for a short section of track, and then speed-up to continue afterwards. At the beginning of your session, you’ll be given a briefing to outline where all the temporary speed restrictions will be, so you can plan ahead.
These two random events were top player-requests from our TSW Winter Survey and will provide a complete unique experience to playing the game, especially when in combination with eachother!
Don’t fancy the chaos? In the event you’re not looking for the extra level of challenge, or hoping for a smoother journey - you will also be given the ability to toggle off both of the Random Events from happening in your next session easily within the settings menu.
New Feature: Train Faults
Continuing the theme of providing unique and new gameplay to each of your sessions in Train Sim World, the next feature coming is Train Faults – adding an unpredictable realistic element to your services that may need urgent attention![/p][p]
Whenever these faults occur, a pop-up will walk you through the needed steps in order to resolve the issue – You’ll never feel lost on how to resolve the faults, however, you will need to stay prepared in case it changes your plan![/p][p]
Players will experience a wide range of faults on their trains, including:[/p]
- [p]Stuck/Broken wiper blades[/p][/*]
- [p]Headlight malfunctions[/p][/*]
- [p]Dynamic Brake Failure[/p][/*]
- [p]Tilt faults for tilting trains[/p][/*]
- [p]And many more![/p][/*]
Like Random Events, if you don’t want to Train Faults during your gameplay sessions, you can easily toggle them off in the settings menu.
New Feature: Platform & Train Announcements
After Random Events, announcements were the second-most highly voted core feature that you wanted to see, and from the speculation across the community, it’s fair to say many of you were grateful to hear the good news of its arrival in Train Sim World 6!
Fully integrated into the on-board systems, with PIS and Tannoy’s around the trains, the movement and activity of trains flowing in and out of stations will be played audibly, adding an extra level of realism that we’re excited to finally bring to you all.
If you’re standing around on platforms, you’ll hear the key information broadcast, such as when the next train is arriving, when it’s departing, and how many stops are coming up.
And whilst we’re keeping an ear out for the next announcements, we’ll also be listening for your feedback on this new feature, and how this new level of immersion is elevating your game sessions!
New Feature: Passenger Ambient Audio
On top of all the TSW6 features we’ve outlined above, we have a new feature we'd like to announce today, the most-requested existing feature to improve in TSW, following your feedback in our recent player surveys - it's of course our wonderful passengers!
The audio team have been focussing increasing the immersion you feel when playing any game sessions, either in timetable services, scenarios, or when putting on the conductor’s hat. Coming with TSW6 will be all new Passenger Ambient Audio – adding new noises and chattering in coaches that dynamically adapts in volume based on how many passengers are seated in a single area.
We’re hoping this change goes hand-in-hand with our announcements, making the audio experience across TSW more complete, and keep the world feeling more alive than ever.

Additional Improvements
Alongside the passenger improvements, we’ve also continued to improve other aspects of the game to ensure the experience is the best as possible.
Training Center – A New Free Loco!
Firstly, we’re adding the SD40-2 US locomotive into Training Center as a free locomotive for everyone to enjoy, helping more people get onboard with US content, and give everyone who picks up TSW6, or even the Free Starter Pack, a whole new loco to play with in Training Center or Free Roam!

Memory and Robustness
Back in June 2025, we shared the first stages of our major reworks to memory and robustness in Train Sim World, to improve the experience as much as possible for all our platforms, and give players more options to manage their memory with new settings.
Our focus has continued on these optimisations, with our priorities aimed at tackling blurry textures, visual fidelity, and making the most out of available memory.[/p][p][/p]
Play for Free with the Free Starter Pack!
[p]We’re extremely proud to announce the return of the Free Starter Pack for TSW6, following the success last year, this is your entry point to jump into the latest version of Train Sim World at no cost. Supported across all our platforms, and yours to keep forever once claimed, this truly is the best way to experience everything we have to offer![/img]
What’s included in the Train Sim World 6 Free Starter Pack?
The Free Starter Pack will give you access to the latest Training Center and the core feature set of Train Sim World 6 outlined above. This pack won’t provide you with any of the new routes/locos on its own, so if you’re interested in the Train Sim World 6 content, you’ll find much more value in our premium bundles that include the content we’ve covered, and you can find breakdowns within our TSW6 Bundle FAQs.
