What does this mean for you?
If you're already using Windows 10/11 or Ubuntu 22.04 or newer: there’s no action needed. Your experience will continue seamlessly. If you're on an older operating system: BeamNG.drive may no longer function properly, and we strongly encourage you to upgrade your operating system as soon as possible. Why is this necessary?
This change is driven by industry-wide decisions and software requirements beyond our control. Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 between 2020 and 2023. Steam similarly ended their support for these versions in January 2024. Internally, our software relies on a library created by Google, which has also discontinued support for older Windows versions. Similarly, Canonical's end-of-life for Ubuntu 20.04 in May 2025 means we will follow suit shortly afterward. We hope you understand that taking these steps is necessary for the future of our sim.

If upgrading to Windows 10 or newer isn't an option for you:
You could continue using an older version of BeamNG.drive. However, please note that you'll miss future updates and content, and Customer Support won't be available for outdated versions. Select 0.34.2_win7_no_updates in the Betas section (alternatively, if eligible, consider requesting a refund from Steam).
