Direct controls and multi-select
Much like in Dawn of Man, in Planetbase 2 you will be able to select a bunch of people and tell them to [i]go someplace[/i], go [i]work in a particular structure[/i] or go [i]perform a particular task[/i]. The game will try very hard to make micromanagement tasks as few and far between as possible, but sometimes you just need to tell colonists exactly what to do.Work areas and complex resource limits
You will be able to place [i]Work Areas[/i], each associated with a [i]number of workers[/i] and a [i]resource limit[/i]. Resource limits can be [i]absolute[/i], or expressed as a [i]percentage [/i]of the total population. The difference is that instead of [i]Sticks[/i], [i]Fish [/i]or [i]Crops[/i], you will be mining [i]Ice[/i], [i]Regolith[/i], [i]Iron Ore[/i] or [i]Silica[/i].
Realistic character proportions
In Planetbase 2, we are are moving away from the more cartoony character style we used for Planetbase 1 and we are using using Dawn of Man's character proportions, to achieve a more realistic look.
Transports and Machinery
In Dawn of man you have [i]Sledges[/i], [i]Carts[/i], and [i]Plows[/i], in Planetbase 2 we will have [i]Rovers[/i], [i]Trucks[/i], [i]Mining Vehicles[/i] and [i]Tankers[/i]. There is obviously not a 1 to 1 match here, but vehicle management and construction will be a big part of the gameplay in Planetbase 2, like it is in Dawn of Man.
