As you might already know, we are working on our next project: [url="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3509420"]Planetbase 2[/url].
The game is of course a sequel to the original [b]Planetbase[/b] from 2015, but we also like to think about this game as [i]Madruga City Builder 3, [/i]as the it is absolutely a spiritual successor to [b]Dawn of Man[/b], a ton of the features will be making a comeback in an evolved form.
Primal Vision and Scan Mode
[i]Planetbase 2[/i] will feature an evolved version of [b]Primal Vision,[/b] called [b]Scan Mode. [/b]This mode will allow you to see [i]surface resources[/i] initially, and then you will be able to prospect the map to see underground resources, thermal activity and other stuff.

Vehicles
Like [b]Sledges[/b], [b]Carts[/b] and [b]Plows[/b] in [i]Dawn of Man[/i], in [i]Planetbase 2[/i] we will have a variety of vehicles and machines like [b]Rovers[/b], [b]Trucks[/b], [b]Harvesters[/b] or [b]Tankers[/b], to help your settlers automate harder tasks in the colony.

Work Areas
This is one of the ideas we came up for [i]Dawn of Man[/i] that worked the best. It allows you to automate resource gathering without losing control of what's going on.
In [i]Planetbase 2[/i], [i]Work Areas [/i]will be used to mine surface resources, like [i]Iron[/i], [i]Silicates[/i] or [i]Ice, [/i]and also to assign areas for [i]Terraforming[/i] or [i]Prospection[/i].

Multi selection and direct commands
[i]Planetbase 2[/i] will feature better AI which will be an evolution of the [i]Dawn of Man[/i] code. But even then sometimes you will want to just click on people and tell them what to do immediately.

Multi phase Tech Tree
In [i]Dawn of Man[/i] we have the different [i]ages[/i], and in Planetbase 2 we will have different colony [i]phases[/i], each with it's on upgrades to unlock. You have to unlock the key tech in each phase before you continue to the next one.

AI and Task system
In [i]Dawn of Man[/i] we introduced the task system for the AI, so people can perform tasks consisting of several stages (like crafting a resource from it's components). This system is making a comeback in Planetbase 2.
Overall we are taking the main ideas behind the [i]Dawn of Man[/i] AI and evolving them for [i]Planetbase 2[/i].
