Hello Miners,
We just wrapped up another On the Horizon livestream to make some big announcements about Deep Rock Galactic and Rogue Core! And we're putting this article out to give you a tidy summary of everything we covered.
Here are the three big headlines:
[olist]
[*]Deep Rock Galactic Season 06 is coming. Sooner than you’d think, too. We’re aiming for a release in Q1 of 2026.
[*]Rogue Core’s Early Access release is pushed to Q2 2026. We need more time to make it the game we want it to be. It’ll come out after DRG Season 06.
[*]Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is now out on mobile. It just launched yesterday on Google Play and Apple’s App Store.
[/olist]You can watch the whole broadcast here, or check out just the section focused on Deep Rock Galactic right in the video below. Then we'll get into all the details.

Deep Rock Galactic: Season 06 is coming soon.
For a while now we’ve said that we won’t be looking at Season 06 until we get Rogue Core out in Early Access. That wasn’t exactly true. We have been looking into it – we just didn’t want to make any announcements until we knew for sure we were running with it.
Season 06 is confirmed, and it’s coming before Rogue Core's early access launch (more on that later). We’re currently aiming for a S06 release date in Q1 2026.
The reason we’re now able to work on Deep Rock Galactic and Rogue Core at the same time is because we’ve brought in reinforcements from our neighboring Danish developers, Invisible Walls.
We’ve wanted Season 06 as much as anyone, but we kept having to face the fact that we simply don’t have enough people at Ghost Ship Games to work on Deep Rock Galactic and Rogue Core at the same time. We tried it and it was clunky and stressful. If we wanted to have our cake and eat it too, we’d either need to interview, hire and train 10-15 more employees… or we could ask for help from our friends.
Bringing in Invisible Walls was the natural choice for us. They’re people we know and trust, they’ve played loads of DRG, their office is a 15-minute walk from ours, and we feel like we’re aligned on what makes a good game and a nice working experience. All that makes it easy for us to work together. They’ve been talking with our programmers, game designers and artists for the past half year to learn the arcane ways of DRG’s code, and they’re taking on most of the work for this upcoming season, with direction from GSG’s Game Director Mikkel and Lead Game Designer Mike.
And it goes without saying that we’re very impressed with their work so far. So let’s take a closer look and see what’s coming in Season 06: RELICS OF HOXXES.

PLEASE NOTE: Everything you see below is still a work in progress. Final appearances, features and functionality can (and will) change before release.
NEW BIOME: Ossuary Depths

Some mothballed documents in the Planetary Surveys Archive make mention of a “Boneyard of Hoxxes,” but Management has always dismissed it as an early surveyor’s error. Speculation on this topic has been discouraged.
But recent Deep Scan operations have revealed blind spots on our planetary profile. Our picture of Hoxxes IV was incomplete – and we’ve discovered a biome that precisely matches those early descriptions of the boneyard.
Advisory to all employees: Deep Rock Galactic is currently preparing all departments to initiate mining operations in this new biome, officially identified as the Ossuary Depths.

All evidence suggests that the Ossuary Depths have remained virtually undisturbed for several centuries. The only proof that there once was life down here is the gargantuan bones piled in the caverns, now caked in centuries of dust. It’s quiet as the grave, more catacomb than cave.
But you’re not alone down here. You’ll be venturing into the home of the Ossirans, a species who thrive on collecting the countless bones that give the Ossuary Depths its name. Tectonic tremors caused by our Core-level operations appear to have disturbed the Ossirians. They’ve begun burrowing beyond their native Depths, tunneling into the rest of Hoxxes and bringing all the planet’s terrors into their once-lonely mausoleum.
Perhaps Management was right to stay away from this place.
NEW ENEMIES: Ossiran Scrab & Ossiran Pit Jaw

In addition to the usual host of enemies, mining operations in the Ossuary Depths will bring you up against a couple of nasty new specimens.
1. Ossiran Scrab
These scavenger drones are the ones stripping the meat off the bones of Ossuary Depths – but if disturbed from their work, they’ll gladly flay a dwarf too. What they might lack in size, they make up for in numbers. They tend to congregate in hive clusters.
2. Ossiran Pit Jaw
A larger, deadlier, more patient cousin of the Scrab. It’s a burrower, preferring to ambush prey with its massive four-pronged jaw. If you’re lucky, you might just see its jaws poking through the dirt before it’s too late. Early analyses from R&D described it as “A living bear trap” and “Like a cave leech in the floor.”
Watch your step.

NEW MISSION: Heavy Excavation
Season 06 also introduces a new primary mission objective, available in the Ossuary Depths and every other biome of Hoxxes IV.
A recent spike in tectonic tremors (completely unrelated to extensive Drillevator use during Deep Scan operations) has had unexpected consequences for our priorities here on Hoxxes. For one, these tremors appear to have disturbed the residents of the Ossuary Depths, causing hazardous complications for our operational profit margins. But they've also pushed invaluable deposits of Resinite Mass closer to the surface, giving us a lucrative new target for extraction.
In other words, you're going amber hunting. R&D expects these fossilized relics may give us a sharper understanding of natural life on Hoxxes, and the evolutionary origins of the Glyphids. Failing that, we can probably sell them for a fortune on the outer rim mineral market.

You’ll need to locate and excavate deposits of this fossilized treasure, and you can expect to find several deposits in each mission. Once you've found some, it's time to prepare the dig site.

When you've excavated around the Resinite Deposit, Mission Control will send down a supply pod equipped with four lift thrusters, which you'll need to fasten to the sides of the crystal. Once that's done, you just stand back and enjoy the light show while the thrusters laser-carve their way up to orbital extraction.

This new primary objective is set to be one of our more straightforward mission formats, a callback to the OGs like Mining Expedition and Egg Hunt. And, as a fun fact, the mission concept is almost as old as DRG itself. Some of the earliest recorded voicelines reference "calling down the thruster pods" for this mission.
NEW SEASON EVENT: Ossium Raid

The season event introduces the third Ossian enemy to appear on Hoxxes: The Bone Collector, a sort of insectoid prospector now liable to be found in any biome of Hoxxes. This passive creature will not attack on contact, focused instead on collecting remains for eventual storage in the Ossuary Depths. You’ll need to locate it and chase it down into the labyrinthian burrows where it hides its precious harvest.
Inside, you’ll need to locate the real treasure, which is a cache of crystallized Ossium. Management wants you to collect as much as you can – but don’t expect the Ossians to let it go without a fight.
NEW PERFORMANCE PASS

It wouldn't be a new season without a new Performance Pass. We'll be introducing another full tree of unlockable hats, facial hair, resources, and of course the season's new Weapon Framework: Diesel Driven.
This cache of antiquated company equipment has been sitting in storage for decades, still packed in the greasy wax paper from the factory. Waste not, want not, says Management – it’s now been approved for operational use.
...and more to come!
- New victory moves
- New dances
- New pickaxe set
- New DLC armor set
- QoL tweaks?
- Other cool stuff
Season 06 is currently set to release in Q1 of 2026, before Rogue Core launches to Early Access. Keep an eye on the Deep Rock Galactic Steam page for teasers and updates in the months to come.
All Season 06 content will be completely free as always, except for the DLC armor set. Quality feed for the office horse isn't cheap, you know.
Rogue Core's Early Access release has been pushed back a couple months.
Just like the headline says, we’ve decided to delay Rogue Core’s early access release a little bit.
It’s coming along nicely, but we think it needs a few more minutes in the oven. We’d rather push our deadlines than feel rushed or crunched to get it out. This way, we’ll have time to feel like we can give it everything it deserves for early access.
Our current aim is for early access launch in Q2 2026.
So what’s going to happen in the months until then? Our answer for now is whatever needs doing. We’ll be spending this time implementing more features and tightening everything up, but the specifics of exactly what we’ll focus on are hard to say. It’ll depend on feedback and data from our playtests, internal discussions, and good ol’ gut feelings.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is now out on mobile.
This is just a quick one, as most of our stream focused on DRG and Rogue Core. But ever since Funday Games launched the bullet-heaven DRG spinoff in Early Access in February 2024, “Bring it to mobile” was the number one fan request. Well, now it's here!
The mobile port of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor just launched yesterday, and you can snag it via Google Play as well as the Apple App Store.
It’s the same game as always, but now it's easier to play on the toilet!
Check out the release trailer.
