Today we’re celebrating something very special: [b]Dorfromantik turns 5! [/b]Over the past years you have built millions of villages, forests and rivers, shared screenshots, suggested ideas, and shaped the game together with us. To celebrate this anniversary, we’re happy to announce [b]three[/b] [b]brand-new additions[/b] coming to Dorfromantik.

[b]Dorfromantik Goes Medieval[/b]

???? Biome Pack in Development

We're working on a Biome Pack, and we’re taking a trip back in time. Dorfromantik goes [b]Medieval![/b]

Many familiar special tiles will receive a historical makeover and do a time skip. For example: The village well gains a small roof and bucket winch, the steamboat transforms into a medieval sailing ship, and the ruined structure rises again as a proud knight’s (or lady's) castle. All houses will get a medieval makeover as well with typical shapes and timbering! Even the locomotives will change, but let's not spoil that ;)

[b]Oh no! Do I have to change my gameplay strategy now? ????[/b]

Don't worry! It will purely be a [b]cosmetic DLC[/b]. The familiar Dorfromantik puzzle experience and [b]balancing remains unchanged[/b]. The same gameplay mechanics, dressed up beautifully in a new flavour: the armor polished, the lute tuned, and the jester’s hat proudly in place.

For the past five years we’ve collected all biome ideas you sent us via Steam, Discord and social media. We carefully evaluated which theme would be a suitable Biome Pack contender, feasible for our small team and blend smoothly into Dorfromantik’s world. The Medieval theme felt like an amazing fit!

???? Biome Pack Coming in Different Landscape Flavours

With the Biome Pack, the medieval theme comes in different styles, changing the mood of your landscape and immersing Dorfromantik in a variety of medieval biomes.

And the best thing is: it will come [b]very soon[/b]! We’re currently planning a [b]release in May or June 2026.[/b]

[b]Free Anniversary Update[/b]

And there's more! Besides the Biome Pack, we’re currently preparing an Anniversary Update for you. The update will bring two new main features to the game: a Night Mode and integrated leaderboards!

???? Night Mode (Free Update Part 1)

You’ve been asking for this for a long time, and now it’s finally happening.

[b]Night Mode is coming to Dorfromantik.[/b]

Designed especially for relaxed evening sessions and cozy lighting setups, this mode comes with a color palette that is gentler on the eyes while preserving the calm atmosphere of the game. You'll be able to toggle on Night Mode as a biome overlay in the game menu.

Night Mode will be part of a [b]free update for everyone who owns Dorfromantik. [/b]Calm and cozy late-night gaming, everyone!

???? Integrated Leaderboards (Free Update Part 2)

And last but not least, we're adding a [b]QOL feature[/b] for everyone who is looking for a challenge in Dorfromantik. Because we want to give you a more convenient way of comparing your rank, we're adding [b]integrated leaderboards[/b] to the game menu!

Soon, you’ll be able to open the leaderboard [b]directly from within the game[/b] instead of having to check leaderboards here on Steam. You'll be able to check out the [b]Top 10[/b], see your [b]own rank[/b], and view the players who are placed above and below you. Plus if you want to compare yourself with the world's best players or with your friends, we’re going to add a [b]filter option[/b]!
