We took a little break to roam the stars this holiday season and came back to kick off 2025 with new screenshots in Starminer! This week, we're highlighting different scavenging possibilities and engineering feats. From sprawling, modular vessels optimized for resource allocation and habitation to imposing ships designed for versatility and endurance, every design reflects a necessary balance between form and function. With every decision you make out in space, your fleet becomes a testament to your ingenuity and vision for conquering the stars.From Design to Discovery: Scavenging the Cosmos
For our very first shot, we wanted to highlight the ability to equip your ship or station with multiple habitat modules and an intricate web of energy storage units. Of course, you can't expect to just drift through space endlessly - you'll need powerful thrusters and strategically placed solar arrays that promise efficient maneuverability and energy generation, ideal for long-haul mining operations.
Here we see a beast of engineering, built to dominate the stars with both brains and brawn. Its segmented modules are locked together with a solid framework that screams efficiency, ready to haul resources and house the crew in style. All its modules are strategically placed for maximum functionality, making this bad boy versatile enough for mining runs, deep-space exploration, or whatever the galaxy throws at it. It’s rugged, it’s reliable, and every piece of it has a purpose—because in space, there’s no room for wasted potential.
Of course, the thrill of resource gathering does go beyond just mining asteroids. As you explore the vast expanse of space, you may encounter scattered debris from long-forgotten ships and stations. Using your mining lasers, you can cut through this wreckage to extract valuable materials hidden within. Every chunk of debris holds potential, adding another layer of strategy to your resource management as you collect crucial resources for your mission.
